THE VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION MADE A CLICKING NOISE. *NM THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. RECALL# 04V176000. *SC
BRAKE FAILURE, TRANSMISSION NOT WORKING AFTER IMPACT. SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. *BF CONSUMER WAS HIT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THE BRAKES FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND THE DOORS COULD NOT BE OPENED AFTER THE COLLISION, A SPREADER WAS USED TO OPEN THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. THE VEHICLE DECLARED TOTALED . *TC
RECALL 904V176000 FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WAS ISSUED FOR THE VEHICLE. DEALER STATED THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE UNTIL DECEMBER. *AK *NM
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE FLIPPED IN THE AIR, HIT A CULVERT AND THEN HIT A GUARD RAIL. NO AIR BAG WAS DEPLOYED. CONSUMER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND HIT A GUARD RAIL, FLIPPED OVER THREE TIMES, AND LANDED ON TOP. UPON IMPACT, BOTH FRONTAL AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. DRIVER AND PASSENGER SUSTAINED HEAD A NECK INJURIES, AND WERE TRANSPORTED BY AMBULANCE TO THE HOSPITAL. VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND TOTALED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. *AK *TC
WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED THERE WAS A METAL TO METAL NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP TWO DAYS LATER. THE DEALERSHIP INDICATED THAT THE ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T BE RESURFACED. *JB
THE SIDE AIR BAG INADVERTENTLY DEPLOYED WITHOUT THE VEHICLE BEING IN AN ACCIDENT. THE MANUFACTURE IS CLAIMING THE VEHICLE WAS IN AN ACCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY AN INSURANCE REP,. AND A COLLISION COMPANY BOTH INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WASN'T IN AN ACCIDENT. PLEASE PROVIDE THE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *JB
CONSUMER RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE P30/P31 CONCERNING GEAR REPLACEMENT. DEALERSHIP STATED NO PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. *AK
I'VE HAD A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES ON MY 2003 HONDA ACCORD LX, STARTING AT ABOUT 6,000 MILES. THE PROBLEM IS FRONT CALIPERS, ROTORS, AND PADS WITH A COMPLAINT OF "BRAKE JUDDER". THE CAR DOES NOT AND NEVER HAS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE FIRST FEW THOUSAND MILES BRAKE NORMALLY. THIS NOISE AND IRREGULAR BREAKING HAPPENS IN NORMAL DRIVING AND THERE IS AN UNSTABLE FEEL TO THE BRAKES WHEN BRAKING FIRMLY IN AN EMERGENCY. I BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE HUNTINGTON HONDA DEALER 3X WITH THAT SPECIFIC PROBLEM AND WAS TOLD THEY SAW NOTHING WRONG AND ON ONLY ONE OCCASION MADE AN ADJUSTMENT AND AT THE SAME TIME TELLING ME THEY SAW NOTHING WRONG. NOW I SEE NOW THAT A TSB HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR THESE BRAKE PROBLEMS. CONSEQUENTLY, NOW THAT MY CAR IS OFF OF THE WARRANTY AND I'M READING ABOUT THOUSANDS OF OTHER ACCORD '03 OWNERS WITH THIS SAME EXACT PROBLEM. THERE SHOULD DEFINITELY BE A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS A POTENTIAL SAFETY RISK TO THE OWNERS OF THESE HONDA ACCORDS AND OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD IF AN ACCIDENT OCCURRED BECAUSE OF THESE FAULTY BRAKES. NOW THAT MY CAR IS OFF WARRANTY I FEEL AS IF I HAVE LITTLE RECOURSE EVEN THOUGH I BROUGHT THIS PROBLEM TO THEIR ATTENTION THREE TIMES WHEN THE CAR WAS COVERED. SOMETHING MORE SHOULD BE DONE ABOUT THIS ISSUE WITH THE HONDA COMPANY BEFORE INJURIES OR DEATH RESULT BECAUSE OF THESE FAULTY BRAKES. I ALSO WANT TO ADD THAT I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN HONDA. PREVIOUS TO THIS ACCORD I OWNED A CIVIC AND I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM LIKE THIS. I OWNED THE CAR FOR 10 YEARS AND PUT 175, 000 MILES ON IT. I MOST LIKELY WILL NEVER BUY A HONDA AGAIN AND NEVER RECOMMEND ONE TO ANYONE ELSE. THANK YOU. *JB
ROTORS WERE DEFECTIVE. THEY HAD TO BE SERVICED AT 12,000 MILES. CONSUMER STATED HE PREVIOUSLY OWNED ANOTHER HONDA AND THE SAME PROBLEM EXISTED. THE MATERIAL WAS INFERIOR. MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. *AK
THE CONSUMER HAD PROBLEMS GETTING THE RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION DONE AT A LOCAL DEALER. *NM THE DEALER INDICATED THAT SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT PURCHASED AT THAT LOCATION THAT THE REPAIRS COULD NOT BE MADE UNTIL DECEMBER. THE CONSUMER THEN CONTACTED ANOTHER DEALER WHO WAS MORE THAT WILLING TO DO THE REPAIRS. *NM
I HAVE A 2003 HONDA ACCORD EX WITH A MANUAL TRANSMISSION, WITH APPROXIMATELY 9,000 MILES. BY THE WAY, I HAD THE MASTER CLUTCH CYLINDER REPLACED ABOUT 4,000 MILES AGO.*AK IN ANY EVENT, ON THE INCIDENT DATE, I WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT THE CAR IN ANY GEAR, AND HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DIAGNOSIS IS A DEFECTIVE O-RING IN THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY, WHICH CAUSED THE FLUID TO COMPLETELY LEAK OUT. I VIEW THIS AS A SERIOUS PROBLEM, AS IF IT HAPPENED ON THE ROAD IT COULD BE A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD, AND IF IT HAPPENED IN A REMOTE SPOT, IT COULD RESULT IN BEING STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE. THE HONDA SERVICE ATTENDANT TOLD ME THAT THE O-RING WAS ON BACK ORDER, WHICH INDICATED TO HIM THAT MANY OTHER CARS HAD SUFFERED THIS SAME PROBLEM.
CONSUMER RECEIVED RECALL 04V176000 CONCERNING AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. CONSUMER SUGGESTED THAT THEY SHOULD NOT BE NOTIFIED OF A RECALL UNTIL THE PARTS WERE AVAILABLE FOR REPAIRS AT THE DEALERSHIP. *AK
DEAR SIR/MADAM, WHEN MY WIFE DROVE THE CAR ON LOCAL ROAD UNDER 50 MPH, ONE REAR TIRE EXPLODED SUDDENLY. (THE ROAD WAS CLEAN). THE CAR WE HAVE IS HONDA ACCORD 2003. THE TIRE HAS 60% USAGE UNDER WARRANTY. WE WENT TO A LOCAL AUTHORIZED MICHELIN TIRE DEALER TO GET IT CHECKED AND REPLACED. THE DEALER CHECKED THE TIRED AND FOUND THE SIDE WALL OF THE REAR TIRE BLEW UP. THE DEALER THINK IT IS A DEFECTIVE TIRE. WE ARE SCARED OF THE MICHELIN TIRE AND GOT REPLACED WITH FOUR NEW GOODYEAR TIRES. WE AND THE DEALER CALLED MICHELIN LATER AND THEY TOLD US EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A DEFECT TIRE, WE COULD NOT GET ANY CREDIT/DISCOUNT BACK ON THE REPLACEMENT SINCE IT WAS ANOTHER BRAND. BUT WHO WOULD PICK THE SAME BRAND AFTER IT JUST BLEW UP. WE ARE VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE QUALITY OF THE MICHELIN TIRE AS WELL AS THEIR RESPONSE. LUCKILY THE TIRE EXPLODED ON LOCAL ROAD. IF IT WERE ON FREEWAY, IT COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS. SO WE ARE WRITING TO FAIL A COMPLAINT TO YOU.*AK
6-18-04 TOLD HONDA DEALER THAT OUR 2003 ACCORD LX WAS IDLING TOO FAST ON COLD STARTUPS - DEALER TOLD WIFE THIS WAS NORMAL AND MARKED BILL "OK" RE THIS ITEM. FAST IDLING CONTINUED THEREAFTER. ON 9-01-04 11:30 PM CAR PARKED IN DRIVEWAY WAS STARTED, PUT IN REVERSE, AND CAR SPED SO RAPIDLY THAT IT JUMPED DRIVEWAY CURB AND WAS STOPPED BY BRAKING AND HITTING A TREE. TO BE CORRECTLY PARKED I PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AND THE CAR SHOT AHEAD RAPIDLY, STOPPED ONLY BY BRAKING AND SWERVING INTO OTHER CURBING AND JUMPING IT. I
UPON USING THE SECURITY KEY FOR THE VEHICLE, THE CONSUMER FOUND THAT THE SECURED KEY ACTUALLY OPENED OTHER HONDA VEHICLES. SHE USED HER KEY ON A CAR THAT WAS NOT HERS AND SOMEONE USED THEIR KEY ON HERS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. *JB *SC
ELECTRIC SEAT MALFUNCTION. WHILE TURNING CORNERS, SEAT MAKES NOISES AND MOVES. *JB
I HAVE A 2003 HONDA ACCORD EX-V6: Y HUSBAND HAS EXPERIENCED THE FOLLOWING SAFETY PROBLEM ON THREE OCCASIONS. HE DRIVES THE VEHICLE MORE THAN I DO. SEVERAL MORNINGS WHILE BACKING OUT OF OUR DRIVEWAY THE CAR'S BRAKE PRESSURE DID NOT EMPLOY THE BRAKES IN THE NORMAL SAFE FASHION. WHEN HE WAS ABOUT HALF WAY DOWN THE DRIVEWAY HE APPLIED THE BRAKES, THE PEDAL WAS HARD AND NONCOMPLIANT (THE CAR DID NOT STOP OR SLOW DOWN) UNTIL HE APPLIED THE BRAKE PEDAL VERY HARD. WHILE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE DRIVEWAY RIGHT BEFORE EXITING ONTO THE SIDEWALK THE BRAKES BEGAN WORKING AS NORMAL. THIS SITUATION HAPPENED EVEN THOUGH THE CAR WAS WARMED UP FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES HE TAPPED THE BRAKES UPON ROLLING BACKWARD A COUPLE OF FEET OR SO TO MAKE SURE THEY WERE WORKING PROPERLY. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY. THIS SAFETY PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT. I LEFT MY CAR OVERNIGHT WITH A LOCAL DEALER TO HAVE A MECHANIC GO THROUGH THE BRAKE SYSTEM BASED UPON THIS SAFETY ISSUE. I WAS TOLD BY THE MECHANIC AND THE SERVICE CONSULTANT MY BRAKES ARE FINE NOTHING UNUSUAL WAS DETECTED, MY CAR IS PERFECT. BASED UPON THE SERIOUSNESS OF THIS ISSUE AND THE LACK OF RESOLVE FROM THE DEALERSHIP I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT. I HAVE ANOTHER PROBLEM WITH MY CAR WHICH I HAVE REPORTED TO THE DEALER AND RECEIVED SERVICE FOR ON SEVERAL OCCASSIONS. THIS PROBLEM IS NOT SAFETY RELATED BUT MAY HAVE SOME CONNECTION TO THE BRAKES NOT ENGAGING ON SEVERAL OCCASSIONS. WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A COLD START AND TRAVELING BETWEEN 7-10 MPH, THE CAR MAKES A THUMP NOISE WHICH ORIGINATES FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE. NOT ONLY CAN YOU HEAR THE NOISE BUT YOU CAN FEEL IT THROUGH THE ACCELERATION PEDAL. I WAS TOLD BY ONE DEALERSHIP THE PROBLEM IS BRAKE RELATED AND THERE IS NO FIX. THE OTHER DEALERSHIP SAID THE PROBLEM WAS RELATED TO A PIECE OF SCRAP METAL LODGED IN THE SUBFRAME. THEY REMOVED THE PIECE OF METAL AND ASSURED ME THE NOISE WOULD GO AWAY. THE THUMP DID NOT GO AWAY. *AK
MY 2003 HONDA ACCORD EX NEEDED NEW ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS AT 11,000 MILES. I DO NOT RIDE THE BRAKE AND AM RARELY (MAYBE ONCE EVERY 2-3 MONTHS) IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. I WAS CHARGED $350 BY MY DEALER TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED. I STARTED TO WONDER WHY MY CAR HAD THIS PROBLEM. AFTER INTERNET RESEARCH, I AM FINDING OUT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. IN FACT, IT'S QUITE COMMON AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. *AK
I FILED A PREVIOUS COMPLAINT #10075304. I HAD MY ROTORS RESURFACED AT 30500 BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO SAID THEY ARE WARPED. MY WARRANTY IS UP. NOW HAVE 35000 ON VEHICLE AND BRAKES ARE TERRIBLE AGAIN.*AK
I PURCHASED MY 2003 ACCORD 4DR ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO. I STARTED HEARING AN AWFUL FRONT BRAKE NOISE AT SPEEDS >40MPH AND THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD SHAKE. IT ALMOST FELT LIKE THE CAR WOULDN'T STOP. I'M TAKING THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP THIS EVENING FOR THIS AND OTHER ISSUES, HOWEVER, THE SERVICE MANAGER SEEMED AS IF HE HAD NEVER HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM BEFORE. IT'S ANNOYING TO THINK THAT THE SERVICE MANAGER WOULD NOT BE AWARE OF IT SINCE IT HAS BEEN SO COMMON.*AK
WHEN COMING TO A STOP VEHICLE JERKED FORWARD, REAR ENDING ANOTHER VEHICLE. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
THE BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS ON MY 2003 HONDA ACCORD EX-V6 HAVE BEEN CONTINUOUSLY PROBLEMATIC. AT APPROXIMATELY 500 MILES, THE BRAKES EXHIBITED AN UNUSUAL GRINDING NOISE AND THE CAR TOOK LONGER THAN USUAL TO STOP. A FEW MONTHS AFTER THAT, THE BRAKES BEGAN VIBRATING WHEN USED AT HIGHER SPEEDS. THE PADS WERE REPLACED AND THE ROTORS TURNED. AT 7,500 MILES, THE PROBLEM RETURNED AND THE PADS AND ROTORS WERE REPLACED. AT 12,000 MILES, THE VIBRATION IS BACK. I DON'T FEEL SAFE WITH THIS BRAKING SYSTEM AND I BELIEVE IT TO BE DEFECTIVE.
CONSUMER'S VEHICLE WAS STRUCK FROM LEFT SIDE/ REAR, APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THEY FAILED. THEN, VEHICLE STRUCK A CAR.*AK THE VEHICLE CONTIUED DOWN THE STREET THE CONSUMER TRIED TO STOP THE VEHICLE AS THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS FIRMLY PRESSED THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN STEERED TO A GRASSY SPOT AND STOPPED ON ITS OWN. *TC
ON JULY 31, WE WERE INVOLVED IN A COLLISION IN OUR 2003 HONDA ACCORD LX. AN SUV RAN A STOP SIGN, AND WE HIT IT. THE IMPACT WAS DIRECTLY HEAD-ON FOR US (BROADSIDE FOR THE SUV). WE WERE TRAVELING BETWEEN 20 AND 30 MPH AT THE TIME. THE FRONT END OF THE ACCORD WAS ACCORDIANED. HOWEVER, OUR FRONT AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. ALL OCCUPANTS WERE WEARING SEATBELTS AND WERE NOT INJURED. HOWEVER, WITHOUT THE SEATBELTS, THE FRONT PASSENGERS WOULD CERTAINLY HAVE HIT THE WINDSHIELD VERY HARD. THE AIRBAGS CLEARLY SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED, AND I AM FILING THIS REPORT BECAUSE THEY DID NOT.*AK
I HAVE A 2003 HONDA ACCORD EX V6. THE CAR IS CURRENTLY IN THE SHOP, AGAIN, FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. THERE IS VIBRATION OF THE STEERING WHEEL WHILE DRIVING THE CAR. THE CAR ONLY HAS 28,000 HIGHWAY MILES ON THE CAR, I DRIVE 80 MILES EACH DAY, AND ALREADY THERE HAVE BEEN 3 SETS OF ROTORS ON THE CAR. THERE IS AN INCH THICK OF BRAKE DUST ON THE FRONT WHEELS. THE LAST TIME THEY REPLACED THE ROTORS, I DROVE IT 500 MILES IN ONE WEEK AND HAD TO SEND THE CAR BACK IN.*AK THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM AND FROM WHAT I HAVE READ FROM THE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS, THIS IS A COMMON THING TO HAPPEN ON THESE VEHICLES.
I WAS TOLD THAT MY REAR BRAKE PADS NEED TO BE CHANGED AT MY 22500 MAINTENANCE. I DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR EXCESSIVELY AND DEFINITELY DO NOT RIDE MY BRAKES. EVERYEXPERT I'VE ASKED THINKS THAT IT IS ABSURD THAT I NEED TO CHANGE MY REAR BRAKE PADS SO EARLY. I'VE HAD OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR AS WELL SUCH AS A MOONROOF MALFUNCTION AND A THROTTLE MODULATOR DEFECT. I AM CONCERNED THAT MY CAR IS DEFECTIVE. *AK
ACCELERATOR STUCK IN A PARKING LOT. BRAKING WOULD NOT STOP THE VEHICLE. ATTEMPTED TO THROW THE CAR INTO PARK JUST BEFORE IMPACT. DEALER WILL NOT INVESTIGATE FOR DEFECTS!!!*AK
I OWN A 2003 HONDA ACCORD LX MODEL. I HAVE STARTED TO HAVE SOME BRAKE PROBLEM WITH MY CAR FROM 7,000 MILES. AT THAT TIME MY DEALER TOLD ME THAT MY BRAKE ROTORS NEED TO BE REALIGNED, AND WHICH THEY DID. THEN AGAIN AT 15,000 MILES I NOTICED THAT WHEN I APPLY BRAKES AT 60MPH MY CAR VIBRATES AND ON WET ROADS IT SLIPS/SKIDS. THIS ALSO HAPPENS ON CURVES AT SPEED OF 30 MPH IN WET CONDITIONS. ROSENTHAL HONDA AT TYSONS CORNER IN VIRGINIA HAS BEEN WORKING ON THIS SINCE STARTED HAPPENING AT 15,000 MILES. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY NEED TO RESURFACE MY ROTORS AND REPLACE MY PADS AND THAT THE PROBLEM WILL BE GONE. I ASK THEM TO PROCEED WITH IT AND NOW THE PROBLEM CAME UP AGAIN AT 18,000 MILES. ROSENTHAL AGAIN RESURFACE THE ROTARS AND TOLD ME THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN FIXED. TODAY AT 20,000 MILES THE SAME PROBLEM COMES UP. ROSENTHAL & HONDA ARE TELLING ME THAT THERE IS NO PROBLEM BUT I KNOW THAT MY BRAKES ARE NOT WORKING RIGHT AND NOT THE WAY HOINDA HAS DESIGNED IT TO WORK. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO AND WHERE TO GO. I REALLY HAVE GREAT CONFIDENCE IN YOU AND EXPECT THAT YOU HELP ME OUT OF THIS ISSUE.*AK
STRONG VIBRATION WHEN BRAKING ON 2003 HONDA ACCORD AFTER 16000 MILES. DEALER SPECIFIED THAT PADS AND ROTORS WERE FINE. AFTER DEMANDING THAT SOMETHING HAD TO BE DONE, DEALER RESURFACED ROTORS AND REPLACED PADS AS "GOOD FAITH", BUT INDICATED THAT THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE IN THE FUTURE...DESPITE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS REGARDING ROTORS ON 2003 MODEL. I EXPECT THIS ISSUE WILL REAPPEAR SINCE OTHER COMPLAINTS SUGGEST AN ISSUE WITH THE ROTOR ITSELF.*AK

2003 HONDA ACCORD RECALL ON TRANMISSION. *BF CONSUMER LEARNED OF RECALL ON THE INTERNET. RECALL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SECOND GEAR INSPECTION WAS PERFORMED. ALARM KEY REMOTE NO RANGE, MUST BE RIGHT UP ON CAR TO WORK. FRONT BRAKE NOISE AND/OR JUDDER. FRONT BRAKE DISCS WERE REFINISHED AND NEW FRONT BRAKE PADS. TIRES WERE ROTATED AND AND REAR BRAKE SERVICE WAS PERFORMED. *TT
WHILE ATTEMPTING TO APPLY THE BRAKES THE PEDAL BEGAN TO PULSATE, AS A RESULT THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *JB
THE FRONT BRAKES ON MY WIFE'S 2003 ACCORD LX ARE THE PROBLEM. WE BOUGHT THE CAR NEW IN NOV. 2002. NO PROBLEMS FOR THE FIRST YEAR, THEN IN NOV. 2003 WE NOTICED A GROWLING OR GRINDING SOUND WITH VIBRATION EMANATING FROM THE FRONT BRAKES WHEN STOPPING THE FIRST FEW TIMES AFTER A COLD START. UNDER THESE CONDITIONS, THE CAR DID NOT SEEM TO STOP AS SMARTLY AS IT SHOULD. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AT 24000 MILES, WHO DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS CRACKED FRONT PADS. PADS WERE REPLACED AS A COURTESY, THOUGH THEY ARE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, AND THE ROTORS WERE RESURFACED. LAST WEEK, THE PROBLEM REAPPEARED IN A PANIC STOP SITUATION IN STOP-AND GO TRAFFIC, 3 BLOCKS AFTER A COLD START. THE CAR NOW HAS 33K MILES. SAME GRINDING SOUND, SAME VIBRATION, AND NOT ENOUGH BRAKING POWER TO STOP THE CAR FROM 20 MPH IN A SAFE DISTANCE. WE COLLIDED WITH A RANGE ROVER AT VERY LOW SPEED, NOT ENOUGH TO DEPLOY THE AIR BAG OR DAMAGE THE OTHER VEHICLE. NOW I AM LOOKING AT SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS IN BODY REPAIRS. WHEN I GET THE BODY FIXED, I CAN TAKE THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER FOR ANOTHER DIAGNOSIS ON THE BRAKES. EVEN WITH NEW PADS AND/OR ROTORS, I AM NOT CONFIDENT THAT THIS WILL BE A SAFE-STOPPING CAR. *LA
I AM HAVING RECURRING BRAKE PROBLEMS WITH MY 2003 ACCORD EX. ALL PROBLEMS RELATE TO A SOFT PEDAL OR RATHER HAVING THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR PRIOR TO THE CAR STOPPING. THE FIRST INSTANCE I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY SAID THERE WAS A DEFECTIVE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER. THIS SEEM TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM BUT IN A COUPLE OF MONTHS THE CAR DEVELOPED THE SAME PROBLEM. I RETURNED IT TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY SAID THERE WAS AIR IN THE LINE. THIS SEEMED TO FIX THE PROBLEMS BUT AFTER 3 MONTHS I HAD TO TAKE CAR BACK AND HAVE NOW BEEN TOLD THAT THEY ARE GOING TO REPLACE THE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER ONE MORE TIME. THIS IS THE THIRD STRIKE IN THE LEMON LAW. IF THE BRAKES GO SOFT AGAIN THEN THE LEMON LAW TAKES EFFECT.
WHILE TRAVELING AT 20 MPH CONSUMERS VEHICLE ACCELERATED, CAUSING IT TO STRIKE THE GUARD RAIL. CONSUMER LATER RECEIVED RECALL O4V176000 FOR TRANSMISSION. *AK *NM
FEEL A GRINDING NOISE WHEN MOVING THE CAR FORWARD (UNDER 10 MPH). THE PROBLEM HAPPENS ONLY WHEN FIRST STARTING THE CAR AND MOVING FROM PARK. IT DOESN'T HAPPEN AFTER THE CAR RUNS AND STOPS FOR RED LIGHT. *AK
WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKE PEDAL DRIVERS SEAT MOVED FORWARD. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE SEAT TRACK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND REPLACED IT. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM RECURRED. *AK
CONSUMER RECEIVED RECALL 04V176000 CONCERNING AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FAILURE. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR REPAIRS. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM HAD NOT BEEN RESOLVED. *AK
COMPLAINT RECEIVED VIA E-MAIL. I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW CAR, AND SINCE THEN I HAVE BEEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS AMOUNTS OF TIMES FOR MANY PROBLEMS. FIRST PROBLEM WAS MY BRAKES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT 4600 MILES, BUT WEREN'T REPLACED UNTIL 7700 MILES 3.5 MONTHS LATER DUE TO BACK ORDER. CURRENTLY, WITH 17,900 MILES THE BRAKES WERE GRINDING AGAIN. THIS IS MY 3RD HONDA, AND THE WORSE ONE, YET LIKELY MY LAST. THE SECOND PROBLEM WAS THAT MY RIGHT REAR DOOR WAS LOCKED FOR 3 MONTHS. THE DEALER CLAIMED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO GETTING MY WINDOWS TINTED, BUT THEY ATTEMPTED TO FIX THREE TIMES, AND WAS TOLD THE THIRD TIME THE PROBLEM ONLY OCCURS IF THE TEMPERATURE GOES BELOW 32 DEGREES. SINCE THEN THE TEMPERATURE HAS BEEN OVER 32 DEGREES. I ALSO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH SULFUR ODOR COMING FROM THE EXHAUST, AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS NORMAL PROBLEM ,WOULD GO AWAY WITH TIME. BUT AS TIME GOES BY THE ODOR GETS WORSE, AND SMELLS LIKE ROTTEN EGGS. ANOTHER PROBLEM WITH THE CAR IS THE ALIGNMENT HAS BEEN OFF SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR. I HAVE HAD MY OWN MECHANIC LOOK AT THE CAR, AND HE BELIEVES THE CAR WON'T ALIGN CORRECTLY BECAUSE OF THE AXLES. THE FINAL PROBLEM WITH MY PIECE OF CRAP HONDA IS THE DRIVER SEAT ISN'T SECURE, IT SLIDES VERY LITTLE BACK AND FORTH AND SIDE TO SIDE.*AK
OUR 2003 HONDA ACCORD WAS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION -- WE TURNED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE AT AN INTERSECTION. THERE WAS SIGNIFICANT FRONT END DAMAGE TO OUR HONDA, BUT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. IT SURE LOOKS LIKE THEY SHOULD HAVE. FORTUNATELY, THERE WERE NO INJURIES. WE HAVE SENT THIS INFORMATION TO HONDA, BUT THEY HAVE FAILED TO RESPOND.*AK
WHEN FIRST BRAKING AFTER THE CAR SITS OVERNIGHT, THE BRAKE PEDAL IS HARD AND WITH IT IN REVERSE IT BACKS UP AND CANT BE STOPPED WITHOUT PUMPING THE BRAKES . WIFE BACKED INTO CAR IN DRIVEWAY AND DENTED THE TRUNK LID ON THE HONDA. THOUGHT IT WAS ONE TIME DEAL, BUT IT HAPPENED 3 MORE TIMES. TOOK IT TO DEALER AND THEY HAD TSB ON AND FIXED IT. BRAKE HOSE WOULD COLLAPSE AND CAUSE FAILURE. THEY PUT A NEW HOSE PART 7185473, I CALLED HONDA, THEY WOULD NOT FIX DENT BECAUSE IT WAS NOT A RECALL, IT WAS A TSB. THIS WAS A DANGEROUS SITUATION AND I SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED.. THEIR ATTITUDE WAS IT WAS MY FAULT THAT THE BRAKES DID NOT WORK AND WILL NOT REPAIR THE TRUNK DAMAGE. WHAT DO I DO??? *JB

THE BRAKES PULSATE WHEN APPLIED....ALREADY CHANGED THE PADS TWICE STILL THE SAME PROBLEM, ROTORS WERE REPLACED, THEN TURNED ALSO. THE CLUTCH WILL STICK WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN OPERATED FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. THE KEY IS DISCONNECT COMMUNICATION WITH THE CAR, CAUSING EVERYTHING TO BE SHUT OFF. DEALER CHECKED AND SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG.*AK
WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH CONSUMER NOTICED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING OFF. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. WHILE TESTING THE VEHICLE IT STALLED. MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK
INCIDENT: ON JUNE 16TH, AROUND 10 AM, WE WERE TRAVELING FROM FORT WAYNE INDIANA, TO THE CINCINNATI AREA FOR A VISIT WITH OUR DAUGHTER. DRIVING ALONG I-75 IN OHIO, AT ABOUT 65 MPH, THE RIGHT SIDE OR PASSENGER AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND THE RIGHT FRONT SEAT (OCCUPIED) BELT RETRACTED. UPON ARRIVAL AT OUR DESTINATION I CALLED PERFORMANCE HONDA IN FAIRFIELD OHIO, THE DEALER NEAREST OUR DESTINATION, AND RELAYED WHAT HAD HAPPENED. I WAS INSTRUCTED TO BRING THE CAR IN THE NEXT MORNING, THURSDAY JUNE 17, SO THE DEALERSHIP COULD INSPECT THE CAR AND ATTEMPT TO DETERMINE WHY THE SIDE AIR BAGS AND SEAT BELT DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT DOWN THE ROAD.*AK BY TUESDAY, JUNE 22 WE WERE TOLD WE WOULD KNOW WHAT HONDA WOULD DO AND WE COULD COME IN AND PICK UP THE CAR. WHEN WE ARRIVED AT THE DEALERSHIP WE WERE ADVISED THAT HONDA ENGINEERS BELIEVED WE HAD STRUCK SOMETHING, BASED ON A VERY SMALL SCRATCH IN THE UNDERCOATING ON THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR, AND THAT CAUSED THE DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAGS. WE PICKED UP THE CAR AND RETURNED HOME TO FORT WAYNE ON WEDNESDAY. THURSDAY MORNING , JUNE 24 WE SPOKE IN PERSON WITH THE GENERAL MANAGER OF DON AYRES HONDA WHERE WE HAD PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. WE EXPRESSED OUR POSITION THAT THE AIRBAGS AND SEAT BELT SHOULD NOT HAVE DEPLOYED AND HONDA SHOULD MAKE ALL REPAIRS UNDER WARRANTY. COMPLAINT: SIDE AIR BAGS SHOULD NOT DEPLOY IN A VEHICLE TRAVELING IN A STRAIGHT LINE AT 65 MPH. FROM THE OWNER'S MANUAL PAGE 47 AND AGAIN ON PAGE 48: "IN A MODERATE TO SEVERE SIDE IMPACT, THE SENSORS WILL DETECT RAPID DECELERATION AND SIGNAL THE CONTROL UNIT TO INSTANTLY INFLATE EITHER THE DRIVER'S OR THE PASSENGER'S SIDE AIRBAG. ONLY ONE AIRBAG WILL DEPLOY DURING A SIDE IMPACT. IF THE IMPACT IS ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE, THE PASSENGER'S SIDE AIRBAG WILL DEPLOY EVEN IF THERE IS NO PASSENGER." THERE WAS NO IMPACT, SIDE OR OTHERWISE AND CERTAINLY NONE THAT COULD BE CONSIDERED "MODERATE TO SEVERE"!
WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG INADVERTENTLY DEPLOYED. *AK ALSO THE FRONT SEAT SEAT BELT RETRACTED. UPON INSPECTION, THE ENGINEERS BELIEVED THAT THE CONSUMER STRUCK SOMETHING BASED ON A SMALL SCRATCH IN THE UNDERCOATING ON THE BOTTOM OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT STRIKE ANTYHING. *SC *JB
VEHICLE'S PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED INADVERTENTLY AND THE SEAT BELT RETRACTED. *MR *SC *JB
HAD ROTORS RESURFACED AT 5000 MILES AS WARPED--HONDA CERTIFIED GARAGE/DEALERSHIP TRIED SAYING I HAD TIGHTENED THE LUG NUTS TOO TIGHT?! BRAKES AGAIN INTO SHOP AT 17000 MILES FOR REPLACEMENT. MY WARRANTY JUST EXPIRED AND HAVE 30300 MILES ON IT AND THERE IS STILL A PROBLEM WITH MY BRAKES. PROBLEM IS EXTREMELY NOTICEABLE AT SPEEDS OVER 40 MPH WHEN APPLYING BRAKES--CAR FEELS LIKE IT WILL RUN RIGHT OFF THE ROAD. ALSO, BIG PROBLEM WITH WATER LEAKING INTO FRONT WINDOWS WHEN THERE IS THE SLIGHTEST BIT OF RAIN AND HAVE THE WINDOWS CRACKED. WATER GETS INTO THE POWER WINDOW BUTTONS. THIS APPEARS TO BE A DESIGN FLAW.*AK

HAVE BRAKE PROBLEMS WITH A 2003 HONDA ACCORD EX. I HAD THE BRAKES REPLACED AT 24,000 MILES AND STILL HAD PROBLEMS AND WAS TOLD TO HAVE THE ROTORS REPLACED BECAUSE THEY ARE WARPED. THIS SEEMS TO BE TOO EARLY IN MILEAGE TO HAVE THESE TYPE OF REPEAT PROBLEMS. *JB
