I VIEWED NHTSA ID NUMBER: 10653526 INVOLVING THE RED AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT THAT COMES ON AND WON'T GO OFF. MINE HAS BEEN DOING THIS INTERMITTENTLY FOR AT LEAST A YEAR THAT I CAN RECALL. IT IS NOW ON ALMOST ALL THE TIME. WHEN CALLING A LOCAL DEALER ABOUT IT, THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO CHARGE ME TO LOOK AT THE PROBLEM AND WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY WORK THAT WOULD NEED TO BE DONE TO FIX IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 52 MPH, THE FRONT AND REAR AIR BAGS INADVERTENTLY DEPLOYED WITH NO IMPACT TO THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. THE INTERIOR ROOF COVERING ALSO BECAME DETACHED AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 226,000.
AIRBAG LIGHT WOULD COME ON AFTER CAR WARMS UP INTERMITTANTLY, AND STAYS ON PERMANENTLY ON COLDER DAYS IT TAKES LONGER TO TURN ON BUT EVENTUALLY IT WILL. *TR
I TOOK MY HONDA IN FOR A POWER STEERING RECALL THAT WAS ISSUED AND ASKED THE HONDA DEALERSHIP TO LOOK INTO THE REASON WHY THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT WAS ON. THEY CALLED ME BACK AND SAID THERE WERE TWO FAULT CODES ONE BEING THE DRIVER SEATBELT BUCKLE AND THE OTHER BEING THE DRIVERS SEAT POSITION SENSOR. I KNOW THERE IS ALREADY A RECALL ON THE DRIVER SEAT POSITION SENSOR BUT THEY SAID THAT MY VEHICLE'S VIN WAS NOT AFFECTED BY THE RECALL. THEREFORE, IN ORDER TO FIX THIS SENSOR I WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO REPAIR THE PART. I CALLED HONDA AMERICA AND THEY ALSO TOLD ME IT WAS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO REPAIR THE PART SINCE MY VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE A VIN AFFECTED BY THE DRIVER SEAT POSITION SENSOR RECALL. I FIND THIS ODD THAT MY VEHICLE IS OF A MAKE MODEL AND YEAR WITH A KNOWN DEFECTIVE PART BUT YET IT IS NOT INVOLVED IN THE RECALL. I FEEL THAT THIS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED FURTHER TO SEE IF THERE ARE MORE MODELS THAT ARE AFFECTED BY THE DRIVERS SEAT POSITION SENSOR FOR THE AIR BAG. *TT
UNINTENDED ACCELERATION WITH CAR GOING OUT OF CONTROL ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE CAR FAILING TO SLOW DOWN AFTER PRESSING ON THE BRAKE. MOST TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. *TR
HAVE INFORMATION THAT THE AIR BAG AND SIDE AIR BAG MAY NOT BE WORKING PROPERLY ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND THE SHOULDER STRAP ON THE SAME SIDE DOESN'T RELEASE AS IT SHOULD. THANKS
I AM EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE THAT WAS CAUSED A RECALL FOR V6 MODEL OF THE SAME YEAR AND MAKE OF MY HONDA ACCORD. THE POWER STEERING HOSE LEAKS ON THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND SMOKE STARTED WHEN I WAS DRIVING. I JUST WANT TO REPORT THE SAME ISSUE FOR 2.4 L (V4 MODEL) THAT WAS REPORTED FOR V6 MODELS. *TR
AIR BAG FAULTY LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF RANDOMLY. ALTHOUGH THERE IS A MASSIVE 2005 ACCORD AIRBAG MODULE RECALL BASED ON THE NHTSA INVESTIGATION 07V001000. THE 2005 ACCORD HYBRID IS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST. THERE SEEMS TO HAVE QUITE A FEW 2005 HYBRID OWNERS HAD ALREADY FILE THE SIMILAR COMPLAINT. (UNDER THE PROBLEM WITH THE SEAT SECTION) AIRBAG MALFUNCTION IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM, HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM BEHAVIOR IS RANDOM AND MAJORITY OF THE CUSTOMER MAY SEES IT AS "GLITCH" SINCE IT MAY GO AWAY BY TURNING THE KEY ON AND OFF AGAIN. *TR
THE BACK LIGHT WHERE THE RADIO IS KEEPS COMING IN AND OUT. THE RADIO WOULD WORK, AND THEN NOT WORK. I CAN BE IN THE MIDDLE OF A SONG AND IT WILL GO OFF. I CAN ALSO BE SILENT AND IT GO ON. THE LIGHT WITH NO LETTERS WOULD STAY ON THE WHOLE TIME. WHEN I WANTED THE RADIO TO SOUND I WOULD HAVE TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY AND CONNECT IT BACK UP. AT THIS POINT I WILL NEED TO REPLACE THE RADIO. THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THE 2005 RADIO, BUT THERE IS FOR THE 2003-2004. IF ITS THE SAME RADIO AND PEOPLE ARE HAVING TO REPLACE A RADIO THAT SHOULD WORK, THEN WHY IS THERE NO RECALL. I AM NOT THE ONLY OWNER OF A 2005 HONDA ACCORD THAT THIS IS HAPPENING TO. I REPLACED THE FUSE THINKING IT WAS THIS. IT WORKS FOR A WHILE AND THEN I REALIZED THAT THE FUSES WHERE NO BLOWN. PLEASE HAVE THIS AS A RECALL AND THE PEOPLE AT HONDA ARE NOT VERY HELPFUL EVEN WHEN THEY ADMIT TO HAVING OTHER OWNERS COME IN WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO THE CONTACT'S HOME. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE NECK, BACK, ARM AND LEG. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO AN AUTO BODY SHOP. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 134,000. *TT
HONDA ACCORD 2005 SEEMS LIKE HAS FAULTY MECHANICAL ON THE BRAKE. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE DOWNWARD THE HILL AND MY BRAKE DID NOT STOP. I WAS SUSPICIOUS NOW THAT MY CAR HAS FAULTY MECHANICAL BRAKE BECAUSE ABOUT LESS THAN 2 YEARS AGO WHERE MY CAR HAS PROBLEM DID NOT BRAKE PROPERLY ON THE FREEWAY. THEN, I REPLACED MY BRAKE LESS THAN 2 YEARS AGO AT HONDA DEALER. THE LAST TIME MY CAR MAINTENANCE WAS APRIL 2013 AND THEY STATED THE BRAKES ARE STILL GOOD. *TR
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS I'VE EXPERIENCED MY CAR PULLING ITSELF TO DRIVE FORWARD WHEN I AM AT A COMPLETE STOP. *JS
COMPLIANCE BUSHINGS FAILED. THE ONLY CAR MANUFACTURER THAT HAS A CONTINUING PROBLEM WITH THIS IS HONDA. HOWEVER THEY REFUSE TO ISSUE A RECALL NOTICE ON THIS.
CAR DETAILS: - 05 ACCORD SE COUPE WITH ~65K MILES (AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, 4 CYLINDER) RECENTLY, I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE EVEN WHEN I KEEP PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL. TYPICALLY HAPPENS AT AROUND 50 TO 60 MPH MARKER (THE MPH NEEDLE WILL JUST STALL AT ONE LOCATION AND NOT MOVE). I HAVE TO TAP THE BRAKE LIGHTLY A COUPLE OF TIMES OR LET THE CAR COAST DOWN WITHOUT GIVING IT ANY GAS (IT KIND OF RELEASES WHATEVER IS HOLDING THE CAR FROM ACCELERATING AND RELEASES THE MPH NEEDLE). I THEN ACCELERATE THE CAR AGAIN AND IT WILL GO HIGHER THAN 60 MPH. KEEPS HAPPENING OFTEN (NOT EVERY TIME THOUGH). MY GAS MILEAGE IS LOWER WHICH CONFIRMS THAT SOMETHING IS HAPPENING. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE ON HIGHWAYS. I AM NOT SURE IF THIS IS RELATED TO ALL THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE ISSUES THAT HONDA ACCORDS CONTINUE TO SEE ON MODELS MANUFACTURED IN THE MID 2000S. *TR
I'VE OWNED MY 4-DR., 6-CYL. EX MODEL SINCE PURCHASING IT FROM A HONDA PARTS DEPT. EMPLOYEE IN JAN., 2007 WITH 24K MILES ON THE ENGINE. IT HAS PERFORMED GENERALLY VERY WELL UNTIL IT DEVELOPED A SAFETY-RELATED, BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM THAT HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE SINCE IT FIRST OCCURRED-- NAMELY, THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL HAS BECOME PROGRESSIVELY SOFT WHEN APPLIED, AND RECENTLY HAS TO BE APPLIED STRENUOUSLY ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR TO GET EVEN A MINIMAL STOPPING RESPONSE. WHEN THE PROBLEM FIRST OCCURRED, I BEGAN REGULARLY CHECKING THE BRAKE FLUID LEVEL IN MY MASTER CYLINDER. ONLY OCCASIONALLY DID THE CYLINDER REQUIRE SOME MINIMAL, ADDITIONAL BRAKE FLUID--AKIN TO A NORMAL MAINTENANCE AMOUNT. KEEPING MY FLUID TO A MAXIMUM-LEVEL HAS NOT RESOLVED THE PROBLEM. THIS PAST MARCH (2015), I REQUESTED MY WELL-RATED, INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. HE FIRST IDENTIFIED THE SAME 3 EARLIER HONDA SERVICE BULLETINS THAT I HAD (GOING ALL THE WAY BACK TO 2007) THAT ADDRESSED THIS BRAKE PROBLEM, WHEREIN HONDA WAS MOSTLY IMPLICATING A FAULTY ABS (CONTROL) MODULE AS THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM (NOTE: I'VE NEVER RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL SVC. BULLETIN FROM HONDA FOR THIS PROBLEM). MY MECHANIC ESTIMATED THAT REPLACING MY ABS MODULE WOULD COST OVER $2000, BUT THAT EVEN THEN THERE WOULD BE NO GUARANTEE THAT MY PROBLEM WOULD BE RESOLVED. SO, UNTIL I COULD DECIDE WHAT ACTION TO TAKE, I HAD HIM DO A FRONT BRAKE JOB TO "BUY" WHATEVER EXTRA STOPPING-POWER I COULD ... WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE MINIMAL-TO-NONE! NOT ONLY DOES MY PROBLEM REMAIN, BUT IT IS GETTING RAPIDLY WORSE ... TO THE POINT THAT I'M RELUCTANT MAKE LONG, HIGHWAY-SPEED TRIPS, AND AM DRIVING SUPER-DEFENSIVELY SO AS TO BE ABLE TO STOP THE CAR IN ANY KIND OF RISKY SITUATION. I PLAN TO APPEAL TO THE HONDA AMERICA HIERARCHY, STARTING WITH MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP.
OUR HONDA ACCORD WAS CROSSING A 4-LANE STREET FROM A STOP SIGN. A CAR COMING FROM THE RIGHT STRUCK THE PASSENGER SIDE OF OUR HONDA, CAUSING THE SIDE AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY. HOWEVER, THE SIDE AIR BAGS DID NOT INFLATE, CAUSING THE PASSENGER TO RECEIVE BRUISES AND ABRASIONS. NOTE: ALTHOUGH THIS HONDA ACCORD WAS A 2005, IT HAD LOW MILEAGE (30,000) AND WAS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE. THE INSURANCE CO. TOTALED THE CAR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ACCORD HYBRID. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 07V001000 (AIR BAGS). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 126,000. *TR
AIR BAG RED ICON KEPT COMING ON ON DASH AND HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THIS FIXED FOR OVER A YEAR. DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY HONDA DOES NOT CONSIDER LONG ISLAND, NY, A HUMID TERRITORY. HONDA NEEDS TO VISIT LONG ISLAND TO SEE HOW HUMID IT IS. THIS CAR MUST BE USED FOR A ROAD TEST NEXT WEEK AND I MUST NOW PAY OUT OF POCKET TO GET THE ICON OFF PERMANENTLY AND THE PROBLEM FIXED, AS WELL AS HAVE THE AIR BAGS REPLACED TO ENSURE THEY ARE GOOD. AT ONLY 93,000 MILES, MY TRANSMISSION IS SHOT. JUST ONE YEAR AFTER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY RUNS OUT BASED ON TIME, NOT MILEAGE. HONDA'S REPUTATION OF RELIABILITY MAKES PEOPLE NOT EVEN EXPECT TO BUY A WARRANTY. THEIR REPUTATION IS A LIE. ANY AMERICAN CAR WOULD HAVE A 100,000 MILE WARRANTY THE TRANSMISSION. I WILL DEFINITELY NEVER BUY A HONDA AGAIN. THE FINANCIAL BURDEN OF REPLACING A TRANSMISSION SO EARLY ON IS NOT EASY AND THIS CAR SHOULD BE RECALLED FOR IT'S COMMON DEFECT, AS I AM LEARNING ONLINE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 20/59 NEAR FT. PAYNE, ALABAMA WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL SET ON 75 MPH. I CHANGED LANES TO PASS A SLOWER CAR BUT DID NOT TOUCH THE GAS PEDAL. THE CAR STARTED TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN. I TAPPED THE BREAKS TO TURN CRUISE CONTROL OFF BUT THE CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE WITHOUT TOUCHING THE GAS PEDAL. THE ACCELERATION WAS NOT A FULL THROTTLE ACCELERATION, JUST A MODERATE INCREASE. I THEN SHIFTED THE CAR FROM DRIVE TO NEUTRAL AND THE RPM'S JUMPED UP TO REDLINE, AGAIN WITHOUT TOUCHING THE GAS PEDAL. LUCKILY, A REST AREA WAS APPROACHING AND I MANAGED TO PULL THE CAR INTO THE REST AREA PARKING LOT PLAYING WITH THE DRIVE/NEUTRAL OF THE TRANSMISSION AND USING THE BRAKES. ONCE I MADE IT TO A PARKING SPACE I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND SHIFTED IT INTO PARK. I WAITED A FEW SECONDS AND TURNED THE CAR BACK ON. THE RPM'S AGAIN JUMPED UP TO REDLINE WITHOUT ME TOUCHING THE GAS PEDAL. I SHUT THE CAR OFF AGAIN AND PUT MY FOOT UNDERNEATH THE GAS PEDAL AND PULLED UP. I CRANKED THE CAR AGAIN AND IT ACTED NORMAL. I CHECKED UNDER THE HOOD AND EVERYTHING LOOKED FINE. AFTER SOME DELIBERATION, WE DECIDED TO CONTINUE ON OUR TRIP AND THE CAR WAS FINE FOR THE NEXT 4.5 HOURS. WE DROVE BACK SUNDAY, MAY 19 AND THE CAR AGAIN DROVE FINE FOR 6.5 HOURS AND HASN'T HAD A PROBLEM SINCE. THE MORNING BEFORE THE INCIDENT, I CHANGED THE ALTERNATOR AND OIL. I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT THIS HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ALTERNATOR OR OIL CHANGE. ALSO, I DOUBLED CHECKED THE CARPET MAT IN THE CAR AND IT WAS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE GAS PEDAL. I AM NOT SURE IF ANYONE ELSE HAS EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM WITH A HONDA ACCORD. I AM A MECHANICAL ENGINEER AND I AM DUMBFOUNDED BY THIS. BEING IN A CAR WITH UNCONTROLLABLE ACCELERATION IS QUITE UNNERVING. *TR
DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THERE WAS A POP AND THE CAR LOST ALL PROPULSION. AN ORIGINAL FACTORY INSTALLED SPARK PLUG HAD BLOWN OUT OF ITS HOLE, DAMAGING THE CYLINDER HEAD AND DESTROYING SEVERAL COILS, RENDERING THE CAR UNDRIVEABLE AND LEAVING ME WITH A $4,000 REPAIR JOB. FROM INTERNET HONDA CHAT BOARDS, IT IS APPARENT THAT THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED IN AS MANY AS 1 IN 600 HONDA ACCORDS, GENERALLY WITH THE NUMBER 5 SPARK PLUG ON THE V6 MODELS. *TR
I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ON A MONDAY NIGHT, I HAD MY PHONE IN THE FRONT SEAT WITH ME AND I HAD HEARD IT GO OFF A FEW MOMENTS EARLIER. I LOOKED OVER QUICKLY AT THE PHONE TO SEE WHO IT WAS,I QUICKLY LOOKED BACK AT THE ROAD, I WAS NOT ABLE TO STOP QUICK ENOUGH AND I HIT THE YOUNG LADY IN FROM OF ME. I WAS GOING ABOUT 40 MPH WHEN I HIT HER AND THERE IS SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO MY CAR. WHAT REALLY PUZZLED ME WAS THAT MY AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY, EVEN WITH AN IMPACT AS BIG AS THIS ONE. I HAVE SUSTAINED A FEW INJURIES BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF AIR BAG. *TR
BROUGHT VEHICLE IN FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE TIMING BELT REPLACEMENT. HONDA TECHNICIAN NOTIFIED ME THAT THE TIMING BELT TENSIONER WAS LEAKING AND COULD LEAK ONTO THE BELT CAUSING IT TO SLIP OFF OF TENSIONER.. HE FURTHER STATED THAT THIS TYPE OF LEAK GOES UN-NOTICED UNTIL TIMING BELT IS REPLACED. LOSS OF POWER CAN OCCUR IF TIMING BELT IS NOT SECURED. *TR
THE DOOR ACTUATORS ARE NOT WORKING, ITS THE 2 LEFT SIDE ONLY WORK ON COLD DAYS. NOW, DON'T USE THE BACK DOORS AND MOSTLY USE THE DRIVERS SIDE. *TR
I'VE NOTICED A FAULTINESS WITH THE AIRBAG LIGHT INDICATOR/SENSOR. AFTER THE ENGINE IS STARTED, THE LIGHT STAYS ON AND CONTINUES TO STAY ON UNTIL I RESTART THE ENGINE, AT WHICH TIME THE LIGHT MAY OR MAY NOT TURN OFF. THIS HAPPENS WHETHER THERE IS A PASSENGER PRESENT IN THE PASSENGER'S SEAT OR NOT. THE LIGHT FAULTINESS HAPPENS AT RANDOM. THOUGH MANY MODELS OF HONDA ACCORDS HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER A RECALL FOR THE SAME ISSUE, HONDA IS TELLING ME MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED. THIS IS A DANGEROUS ISSUE THAT CAN AFFECT THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT, CAUSING FULL-FORCE DEPLOYMENT REGARDLESS OF SEAT POSITION. *TR
MANUFACTURER: HONDA (AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO.) SUMMARY: INITIALLY,WHILE WAITING ON A RED LIGHT, WHILE THE CAR WAS GOING INTO A FORWARD GEAR, THE CAR SURGED FORWARD. THEN TRIED TO APPLY BREAKS BUT CAR SEEMED TO WANT TO MOVE FORWARD. APPLIED BRAKES AND MOVED GEAR TO NEUTRAL. THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE CAR. ONCE STOPPED, PUT CAR ON PARK AND TURNED OFF ENGINE. BEFORE TURNING CAR OFF THE ENGINE JUST REVVED AND SURGED FORWARD CAUSING ME TO ALMOST REAR END THE CAR IN FRONT. END RESULT WAS THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT ON ANY GEAR (DRIVE, REVERSE, LOW GEAR). THE CAR WAS RENDERED FULLY UN-DRIVABLE AS IT SEEMS THE TRANSMISSION HAS COMPLETELY FAILED. HONDA WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED. THEY STATED THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR HONDA ACCORD 2005 (THE NHTSA WEBSITE INDICATES CAMPAIGN 11V395000) RECALLS BUT HONDA STATED THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIR EVEN THOUGH IT IS A KNOWN FREQUENT FAILURE. HOW SHOULD I PURSUE THIS ISSUE GOING FORWARD? PS. THE CAR WAS TOLLED BACK TO MY DRIVEWAY AND ITS STILL SITTING THERE. *TR
AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY UPON IMPACT OF COLLISION. *TR
MY BROTHER WAS DRIVING OUR CAR ON THE 278-BQE IN BROOKLYN, NY. THE RPM ON THE CAR SUDDENLY WENT TO 7000 RPM AND THEN THE CAR STARTED TO DECELERATE. THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND IT ENDED STOPPING ON THE EXPRESS LANE ON THE HIGHWAY. HE HAD THE HAZARD LIGHTS ON BUT CARS WERE STILL COMING AT 60-70 MPH, MANY BARELY MISSING THE CAR AS THEY SWERVED INTO THE NEXT LANE. I PURCHASED MY 2005 HONDA ACCORD LX WITH THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE BACK RIGHT WINDOW NOT WORKING. DRIVING ON HIGHWAY 101 IN CALIFORNIA THE POWERTRAIN (AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION) ON OUR 6 CYLINDER HONDA FAILED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. WHEN WE GOT TO AN EXIT, THE CAR COULD NOT POWER UP AN EXIT RAMP. THE CAR EVEN ROLLED BACKWARDS EVEN WHEN THE TRANSMISSION WAS PUT IN PARK. PRIOR TO THIS PROBLEM WE HAD NO ADVANCE WARNING OR INKLING OF ANY TRANSMISSION DIFFICULTIES. DURING THIS INCIDENT THE WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASH DID NOT TURN ON. ONCE WE GOT TO A REPAIR FACILITY WE WERE TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD FAILED COMPLETELY AND THE COST OF A REMANUFACTURED UNIT WOULD BE ABOUT $4,400. AFTER THIS INCIDENT WE READ UP ON HONDA'S AND DISCOVERED THAT SUCH COMPLETE, NO-WARNING FAILURES ARE RATHER COMMON IN THESE HONDA ACCORDS. OUR EXTENDED WARRANTY RAN OUT SIX MONTHS AGO. GIVEN THE HIGH NUMBER OF THESE PROBLEMS AND THE HIGH COST INVOLVED, WE BELIEVE THAT HONDA SHOULD REPAIR OR REPLACE THESE UNITS AS LOSING POWER IN A CAR ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY IS VERY DANGEROUS. *TR

THE CLEAR COAT STARTED FALLING OFF MY 05 HONDA ACCORD AT AROUND 105000 MILES (AROUND NOVEMBER OF 2012). HONDA REFUSED TO REPAINT THE VEHICLE BLAMING THE ISSUE ON THE OWNER'S POOR CARE. HOWEVER, IT IS CLEAR THE PROBLEM IS NOT WITH THE OWNER, BUT RATHER WITH THE PAINT HONDA USES. THIS IS EVIDENCED BY THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IN WHICH HONDA EXTENDED THE PAINT WARRANTY FOR SEVEN YEARS ON THEIR ODYSSEYS FOR DARKER COLORS INCLUDING "MIDNIGHT PEARL." IT HAPPENS THAT THIS IS THE SAME COLOR WHICH IS CURRENTLY "MELTING" OFF MY 05 ACCORD. AFTER COMPLETE FLAT TIRE, THE TIRE DEBRIS RIP OFF MY ABS SENSOR WIRE FOR THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL. MY RIM HAS NO DAMAGE. SINCE MY TIRE IS ONLY A FEW MONTHS OLD, SO I GET FREE REPLACEMENT FROM COSTCO. I THINK THE HONDA HAS A BAD DESIGN ON THE ABS SENSOR WIRE TO MY LEFT FRONT WHEEL. THE ABS SENSOR WIRE IS NOT PROPERLY COVERED. THE FLAT TIRE DEBRIS RIPPED OFF THE ABS SENSOR WIRE. CONTACT HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE ABOUT THIS. THEY SAID IT IS NOT THEIR ISSUE. I THINK A PROPERLY DESIGN CAR SHOULD NOT HAVE ANYTHING RIP OFF WHEN A COMPLETE FLAT TIRE HAPPENED.
