I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK IN STOP-AND-GO TRAFFIC. WHEN I WENT TO ACCELERATE I NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE JERKED, AS IF IT HAD A PROBLEM SHIFTING. I DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT AT THE TIME UNTIL IT DID IT AGAIN AFTER I CAME TO ANOTHER STOP AND ACCELERATED ONCE TRAFFIC STARTED MOVING AGAIN. THIS TIME I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I THEN NOTICED THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP ("CHECK ENGINE LIGHT") CAME ON THE DASH. THE TRACTION CONTROL (TCS) INDICATOR ALSO CAME ON. I TURNED THE CAR OFF, WAITED A FEW SECONDS, THEN STARTED IT AGAIN, HOPING THAT WOULD CLEAR ANY FAULTS. THE INDICATORS WERE STILL LIT AND WHEN I WENT TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE THE DRIVE "D" INDICATOR WAS FLASHING GREEN (IT'S NORMALLY SOLID GREEN). I DROVE IT A SHORT DISTANCE TO A NEARBY PARKING LOT WHERE I CALLED A TOW TRUCK TO COME TOW THE VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP. UPON DRIVING IT TO THE PARKING LOT I NOTICED THAT IT WOULDN'T SHIFT OUT OF FIRST GEAR. TOP SPEED I GOT WAS ABOUT 40 MPH. ALSO THE ENGINE WAS REVVING SLIGHTLY. I THEN KNEW THAT THE PROBLEM WAS MORE SERIOUS AND I FEARED FOR THE WORSE. WHILE WAITING FOR THE TOW TRUCK I CHECKED THE ERROR CODES THAT WAS CAUSING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON. IT CAME BACK WITH THREE CODES HAVING TO DO WITH THE SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE A AND CLUTCH PRESSURE CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE A BEING STUCK ON. THE DEALER CALLED ME BACK THE NEXT DAY AND EXPLAINED THAT THEY REPLACED THE SHIFT AND CLUTCH PRESSURE CONTROL SOLENOIDS, WERE GOING TO GIVE IT A TEST DRIVE TO SEE IF THAT CORRECTED THE FAULT, AND WOULD CALL ME BACK AFTERWARDS. THE NEXT CALL I RECEIVED WAS DEVASTATING. I WAS TOLD THAT IT DIDN'T FIX THE ISSUE AND THAT I WOULD NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION! I WAS COMPLETELY SHOCKED. THE CAR JUST HIT THE 50,000 MILE MARK! I HAVE BABIED THIS CAR SINCE I FIRST BOUGHT IT NEW. I DON'T DRIVE IT ROUGH AND I FOLLOW THE MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE TO A T. HOW COULD THIS POSSIBLY BE? *TR
I WAS DRIVING LIKE ANY OTHER DAY ON THE FREEWAY AND MY PASSENGER AIRBAG DEPLOYED FOR NO APPARENT REASON- THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT AT ALL. LUCKILY THERE WAS NO ONE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. AFTER CONTACTING HONDA THEY SAID THEY WOULD SEND A REPRESENTATIVE TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO CHECK TO TAKE CARE OF THE REPAIR BUT THE HONDA DEALERSHIP IN EL CERRITO CA DID NOT WANT TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR AND WANTED TO CHARGE FULL AMOUNT TO FIX IT SAYING THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY. I NEEDED MY CAR SOON FOR MY TRANSPORTATION SO I WENT TO MY TRUSTED MECHANIC TO REPAIR THE AIRBAG AND HE INFORMED ME IT WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE BECUASE THE DRIVER'S AIRBAG COULD DEPLOY AT ANYTIME WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH OR INJURY OR FATALITY. I WOULD APPRECIATE A FULL REFUND FROM HONDA FOR COST OF THE REPAIR AS IT CAME OUT TO BE $3,374.68. THIS COST IS VERY HIGH AND I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS SAFETY MALFUNCTION. WAS DRIVING ALONG ON HIGHWAY WHEN BOOM!!! THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS JUST DEPLOYED ON THEIR OWN. IT CAUSED ME TO SWERVE AND ALMOST CRASH AT 80 MPH. MY PASSENGER LUCKILY SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES. THERE WAS NO REASON OR WARNING FOR THESE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ACCORD LX. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT FAILED TO RESPOND. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE CAUSING THE AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A BACK INJURY THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT BEEN MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V395000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000.
THE STEREO DISPLAY WENT COMPLETELY OUT. THEN THE RADIO STARTED SCANNING RADIO STATIONS. IT IS NOW STUCK ON SOME STATIC SOUNDING WEATHER RADIO STATION. OFF & ON WORKS BUT NOTHING ELSE (E.G . VOLUME, MODE, LOAD OR EJECT, STATION TUNING...) I HAVE A LIBRARY CD IN THE UNIT AND AM UNABLE TO EJECT IT. *JB
RADIO MAKES POPPING SOUND AND SHUTS OFF WHEN AC IS ON AND VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. SYSTEM SHUTS DOWN UNTIL IT IS TURNED BACK ON PROBLEM IS INCREASING WITH USE. RADIO HAS HAD TURNED OFF AN ON MULTIPLE TIMES AT DIFFERENT TIMES OF THE DAY DURING THE WEEK. RADIO IS EXTREMELY HOT ON FRONT FACE PLATE. *JS
2005 ACCORD 2.4 LITER A/C STOPPED WORKING. WAS TOLD CONDENSER HAD A HOLE CAUSED BY A ROCK. RESEARCHED AND FOUND THAT NUMEROUS OWNERS OF HONDA PRODUCTS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE. HONDA NEEDS TO REDESIGN THE LAY OUT AND LOCATION OF THE A/C CONDENSER OR PROVIDE SOME SORT OF WARRANTY AND PROTECTION IF THEY ARE NOT GOING TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF THE REQUIRED PARTS. WITH THE CURRENT DESIGN IT IS A MONEY MAKER FOR HONDA. NOW IT IS GOING TO COST ME HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS FOR THE REPAIRS THAT HONDA SHOULD BE PAYING FOR DUE TO THEIR POOR DESIGN. *TR
ON THE DASH BOARD, A RED LIGHT OF AIRBAG WITH A PASSENGER SIGN COMES UP AND STAYS ON WHILE DRIVING. SOMETIMES, IT MAY COME RIGHT AFTER THE ENGINE START AND STAY. SOMETIMES, THE LIGHT WOULD NOT COME. WHEN THE PROBLEM STARTED IN 2012,THE RED LIGHT APPEARANCE WAS INFREQUENT. NOW, IT IS ALMOST CONSTANT. ONLY OCCASIONALLY, IT MAY DISAPPEAR. *TR
AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT, WAS RECALLED PREVIOUSLY FOR THE 2005 HONDA ACCORD,BUT NOT FOR THE ID NUMBER FOR MY VEHICLE,WARNING LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF OFTEN, WAS RECALLED FOR PROBLEM WITH HARNESS WIRING SHORT, WAS TOLD MY VEHICLE, DID NOT QUALIFY FOR REPAIR. UNDER PREVIOUS RECALL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ACCORD EQUIPPED WITH MICHELIN PRIMACY MXV4 205/60/R16 TIRES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO VIBRATE WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH. THE CONTACT MANEUVERED TO THE SHOULDER AND NOTICED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE WAS FLAT AND SHREDDED. THE CONTACT INSTALLED A SPARE TIRE AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP. THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE, BUT THE TIRE WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE OF THE TIRE WAS 7,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ACCORD COUPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON STARTING, THE LIGHTS ALONG THE RADIO AND AIR CONDITIONER FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ELECTRONIC GAUGE MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 111,000.
PAINT HAS DETERIORATED ALL OVER THE VEHICLE. THERE ARE 'BALD SPOTS' WHERE THE METAL IS EXPOSED. WE HAVE SEEN MANY OTHER HONDAS IN THIS AREA WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. HONDA HAS NOT RESPONDED TO OUR REQUEST FOR INFORMATION AND/OR ASSISTANCE.
MY WIFE AND I AND 5 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING ON IH35 ON THE LEFT LANE AT 70MPH WHEN THE TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY FAILED. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING AND SAID SHE WAS LOOSING POWER AND HAD PRESENCE OF MIND TO PULLED OVER TO THE RIGHT SIDE. ALL THE CARS WERE GOING REALLY FAST. THANK GOD WE WERE ABLE TO PULL OVER AND DID NOT GET HIT FROM BEHIND. AFTER STOPPING THE CAR WOULD NOT ENGAGE TO DRIVE AND REVVED UP ONLY SO HAD IT TOWED TO A HONDA FACILITY. THERE WE WERE TOLD IT WAS TOTAL TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THEY CHARGED ME 4500 DOLLARS.I DID NOT HAVE A CHOICE AS WE WERE TRAVELLING AND 250 MILES AWAY FROM HOME AND DID NOT HAVE A CHOICE AS THE OTHER PLACES WE CALLED SAID THEY COULD NOT EVEN TAKE A LOOK FOR A FEW DAYS TILL MONDAY AS IT WAS A FRIDAY AFTERNOON. I DID DO MY RESEARCH AND CALLED A FEW TRANSMISSION PLACES AND WAS TOLD IT WAS A 2500 DOLLAR JOB. DOUBLE INSULT TRANSMISSION FAILS AT 95K AND CHARGED 2000 MORE. LAST TIME I BUY A HONDA. *JS

THE CONTACT ACCIDENTALLY DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A CONCRETE BARRIER. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT AND HER HUSBAND SUSTAINED INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT BODY SHOP WHERE IT WAS REPAIRED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE WITH VIBRATION. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY TWO DIFFERENT INDEPENDENT MECHANICS WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE SECONDARY SHAFT BEARING WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THERE WAS A RECALL RELATED TO THE DEFECT ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 11V395000 (POWER TRAIN: AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION: CONTROL MODULE TCM, PCM); HOWEVER THE CONSEQUENCE OF THE RECALL CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE SECONDARY SHAFT BEARING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE CONTACT EXPRESSED THAT THE SECONDARY SHAFT BEARING SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 127,000.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FAILURES AT 87,900 MILES. *TR
I HAVE AN 05 HONDA ACCORD COUPE. NEITHER WINDOW WILL ROLL DOWN, HAD THE RELAY SWITCH REPLACED BUT 6 MONTHS LATER BACK TO THE SAME PROBLEM. RADIO WOULD GO ON AND OFF, EVEN WHEN CAR WAS OFF. NOW THE RADIO WILL NOT COME ON AT ALL UNLESS I UNPLUG/PLUG THE BATTERY, THEN THE RESULT IS ONLY TEMPORARY. NOW THE CRUISE CONTROL BUTTON WILL NOT WORK. IF I PUSH IT DOWN THE GREEN INDICATOR LIGHT COMES ON BUT THE BUTTON WILL NOT STAY ENGAGED. I'VE SEEN SO MANY OF THE SAME COMPLAINTS I WAS SURE THERE WAS A RECALL I MISSED BUT THERE ISN'T??!! *TR
MY 2005 ACCORD HAD AN ILLUMINATED SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) LIGHT. THE HONDA DEALER DIAGNOSED IT DOWN TO A BROKEN DRIVER SEAT SENSOR HARNESS; FAULT CODES 71-10 (DRIVERS SEAT POS SENSOR) AND A2-10 (FAULTY PWR SUPPLY). THIS CONDITION IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS DESCRIBED IN HONDA SERVICE BULLETIN 07-002, "SAFETY RECALL: DRIVER'S SEAT POSITION SENSOR HARNESS REPLACEMENT." JUST AS DESCRIBED IN THE BULLETIN, THE WIRES ON THE HARNESS BECOME DAMAGED AND IN FACT WERE COMPLETELY BROKEN AWAY FROM THE PLUG END. HOWEVER, MY VIN FALLS OUTSIDE THE AFFECTED VIN'S LISTED IN THE SERVICE BULLETIN AND IS NOT COVERED UNDER THIS ACTION. FURTHERMORE, I FEEL THE DEALER CHARGED MORE THAN NECESSARY FOR THE REPAIR: THEY CHARGED 1.96 HRS OF LABOR (AT $97.00/HR), OR $190.00, AND $15.20 FOR THE PART TOTALING $205.20. IN COMPARISON, THE SERVICE BULLETIN CALLS FOR 0.6 HRS OF LABOR, WHICH WHEN ADDED TO THE PART COST WOULD HAVE TOTALED $73.40. BOTTOM LINE: HONDA DID NOT PROVIDE THE PROPER FIX FOR DAMAGED DRIVER'S SEAT POSITION HARNESS'S IN LATER PRODUCTION VINS. SINCE THEY CONTINUE TO CAUSE THE SAME UNSAFE CONDITION, HONDA MUST BE COMPELLED TO INCREASE THE SCOPE OF THIS RECALL. *TR

AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT COMING ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY. BUT HEARD PREVIOUS MODELS HAVE RECALL ON THIS ISSUE BUT NOT FOR 2005 MODELS. *TR
2005 HONDA ACCORD FIRE DANGER. THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER HEAT SHIELDS FELL OFF WHILE DRIVING AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER IS WARRANTEED 8 YEARS OR 80,000 MILES. I TOOK THE AUTO TO A HONDA DEALER. THEY CONTACTED THE HONDA COMPANY CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE AND SHE REFUSES TO PAY ANY PART OF THE REPAIR. WE ALSO CALLED THE HONDA REPRESENTATIVE SEVERAL TIMES WITHOUT ANY HELP FROM HONDA. THE REASON THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER HAS HEAT SHIELDS IS TO PREVENT FIRES FROM HEAT GIVEN OFF BY THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THE AUTO IS UNSAFE WITHOUT THE HEAT SHIELDS WHICH SURROUND AND ARE PART OF THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER A MAJOR EMISSION CONTROL DEVISE. *TR

WE ALSO CALLED THE HONDA REPRESENTATIVE SEVERAL TIMES WITHOUT ANY HELP FROM HONDA. THIS PERSON REFUSED TO LET ME SPEAK TO HER SUPERVISOR. THE REASON THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER HAS HEAT SHIELDS ARE TO PREVENT FIRES FROM HEAT GIVEN OFF BY THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THE AUTO IS UNSAFE WITHOUT THE HEAT SHIELDS WHICH SURROUND, AND ARE PART OF THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER A MAJOR EMISSION CONTROL DEVISES. *TR

THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A HEAD INJURY DURING THE CRASH. THE CONTACT DID NOT NOTIFY THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 190,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ACCORD EX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND DRIVEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 11V395000 (POWER TRAIN: AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION: CONTROL MODULE (TCM, PCM)). THEY OFFERED NO OTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,600.

IT ALWAYS HAPPENS IN THE WINTER TIME, I GET IN MY CAR TO LEAVE AND I HAVE NO BRAKES. THE PEDAL IS VERY HARD/STIFF AND YOU HAVE TO PULL THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IN ORDER TO ACTUALLY STOP. IN FACT I ALMOST HIT A CAR TODAY AND THE CAR HAD ACTUALLY ALREADY BEEN WARM AND WENT INTO A PLACE FOR ABOUT 30 MIN AND I ASSUMED THEY WOULD STILL BE WARM, WRONG THAT'S WHEN I ABOUT HIT A VEHICLE BECAUSE I COULDN'T STOP! *TR

THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED, RUPTURING WITH METAL FRAGMENTS STRIKING THE CONTACT'S LEFT HAND AND SHATTERING THE BONES IN THE PINKY FINGER WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DEALER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 14V351000 (AIR BAGS).THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.
MY AIR BAG LIGHT WAS LIT,I TOOK IT TO HONDA THEY RE-SET SOMETHING, 5 MINUTES LATER AS I WAS LEAVING IT LIT UP AGAIN. HONDA HAD A SAFETY RECALL (SERVICE BULLETIN 07-002) REGARDING THIS PROBLEM IN JANUARY 2007. MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. OUT OF POCKET COST $203.29. WHILE WAITING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, I ADJUSTED MY DRIVER SIDE POWER SEAT AND SAW THE AIR BAG SENSOR LIGHT TURN ON AT THE SAME MOMENT. I WAS NOT INVOLVED IN ANY ACCIDENT OF ANY KIND. I TOOK IT TO THE HONDA DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE SENSOR FAILED AND IT WOULD COST 660.00 TO REPLACE. APPARENTLY THIS SENSOR CONTROLS ALL THE FRONT AIRBAGS WITHOUT WHICH THEY WILL NOT DEPLOY. AT FIRST, WHEN PUTTING THE CAR INTO GEAR, THERE WOULD BE A DELAY BEFORE THE VEHICLE ACTUALLY ACCEPTED THAT GEAR--ANYWHERE FROM 6-10 SECONDS, ALONG WITH A GRINDING NOISE WHEN I WOULD GO FROM DRIVE TO PARK. I IMMEDUATELY CALLED MY DEALER AND TOOK IT OVER THERE AND EXPLAINED TO THEM WHAT HAD BEEN HAPPENING. GIVEN THE MILEAGE OF MY CAR, THE MANAGER OF THE SERVICE DEPT TOOK THE CAR OUT FOR A DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY (WITH ME), AND TRIED TO SEE IF THE GEARS WERE IN FACT SLIPPING AND I WOULD NEED TRANNY WORK. AFTER THE TEST DRIVE, IT WAS DECIDED THAT THEY WOULD DRAIN ALL THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND REPLACE IT WITH NEW. THIS WORKED WELL FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS, AND THEN WE HAD A BIG COLD SNAP HERE IN COLORADO. AFTER THAT, IT ALL WENT SOUTH. MY CAR WOULD NO LONGER SHIFT INTO 2ND OR 3RD WITHOUT A LOT OF NOISE. CALLED THE DEALER, AND BY THE TIME WE GOT IT THERE, THE CAR WAS BARELY MOVING AT 40MPH ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY. WHEN I PURCHASED THIS CAR THREE YEARS AGO, THE ODOMETER READ 42,000 MILES. TODAY IT READS 67,000. REALLY? I HAVE TRANSMISSION FAILURE AT 67,000?????? THANK GOODNESS I HAVE A HIGHLY COMPETENT SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP WHO WENT TO BAT FOR ME AND CALLED HONDA DIRECTLY. I RECEIVED A "GOODWILL" REPAIR, BUT AM STILL FORKING OVER $1568 FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION. OBVIOUSLY, HONDA HAS NOT FIXED THEIR TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A HAZARD IF A CAR HAD BEEN PASSING BY OR IF THIS HAD HAPPENED IN BUSY TRAFFIC. I COULD HAVE ROLLED BACK AND HURT SOMEONE, HURT MYSELF OR ROLLED BACK INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. ON SATURDAY AT 11:50 PM, I WAS CRUISING AT THE 169TH & MAPLE RD, OMAHA, NE PARKING LOT.. AT A FRONT PARKING JUNCTION, I MADE A RIGHT TURN AT ABOUT 2-3 MPH SPEED. I SLOWED AND BRAKED FOR A PEDESTRIAN WALKING ACROSS MY PATH. MY CAR STARTED REVVING AND ACCELERATING RAPIDLY. I IMMEDIATELY PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDALS HARDER. THE HARDER I PRESSED, THE HARDER THE ACCELERATION BECAME. I BECAME VERY CONCERNED AND SCARED THAT THE CAR MIGHT ACCELERATE SUDDENLY AND MAY CAUSE A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT. I QUICKLY MOVE THE GEAR HAND PEDAL SHIFTERS FOWARD TO (P)ARK. THE CAR JERKED FORWARD A BIT AND THEN STOOD STILL; HOWEVER, THE ENGINE STARTED REVVING WITH A LOUD DIN AND THEN BACK TO NORMAL.I STARTED TO SLOWLY MOVE THE GEAR BACK INTO (D)RIVE MODE. THE CAR BEHAVED NORMALLY AND I PARKED MY CAR IN A AVAILABLE PARKING SLOT. PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT, I HAD A MINOR INCIDENT SIMILAR TO THIS. THIS WAS A ABOUT 2 WEEKS BACK. I WAS SLOWED AND STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN TO MAPLE. WHILE IN STOP MODE PRESSING THE BRAKE, THE CAR STARTED JERKING AND ACCELERATING FORWARD SLOWLY. I QUICKLY PRESSED THE BRAKE HARDER AND IT JERKED FORWARD AND STOPPED. AT THAT POINT, I JUST SHRUGGED IT OFF, THINKING THAT WAS UNUSUAL BUT WASN'T REALLY BAD TO TAKE ISSUE. ALL THIS HAPPENED WHEN I CHANGED MY ACCORD HYBRID BATTERY AND A HYBRID CONTROLLER OVER A MONTH BACK WHEN I HAD A HYBRID BATTERY AND THE CONTROLLER THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACE ON ACCOUNT OF A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE CAR. THE CAR FELT OK AFTER THE CHANGE. HOWEVER, I HAD THE CAR SINCE 2005 AND NEVER DID I ENCOUNTER A SUDDEN ACCELERATION ON THIS CAR, NOT ONCE UNTIL AFTER THE BATTERY AND CONTROLLER CHANGE. THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HANDLE CABLE HAS A SMALL PLASTIC ANCHOR THAT ANCHORS THE CABLE TO TO THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR PANEL. THE PLASTIC PIECE WAS SEVERED INTO TWO PIECES BY THE METAL GRIP THAT HOLDS IT IN PLACE. THE END RESULLT IS THE PASSENGER DOOR CAN NOT BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE. IF SOMETHING WAS TO HAPPEN AND I NEEDED TO ESACPE THE VEHICLE FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE, I WOULD NOT HAVE ACCESS TO DO SO. I BELIEVE THE PLASTIC ANCHOR BREAKING IS A DEFECT CAUSED BY INHERENTLY BAD DESIGN OF A PLASTIC ITEM LOCKING INTO A METAL ITEM. *TR
