TRANSMISSION FAILED AT HIGHWAY SPEED RESULTING IN IMMEDIATE VEHICLE DECELERATION AND NEAR ACCIDENT. HONDA REFUSED TO FULLY COVER THE COST OF THE FAILED TRANSMISSION DESPITE NUMEROUS OTHER REPORTS OF FAILED V6/AT FAILURES IN THE 2005 MODEL YEAR, AND PREVIOUS MODEL YEAR RECALLS. SIGNIFICANT SAFETY CONCERN IN THIS MODEL YEAR AND TRANSMISSION COMBINATION. *TR
AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON EITHER WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR UPON STARTING THE IGNITION AND REMAINS ON. *TR
I WAS TRAVELING SOUTHBOUND I75 IN THIRD LANE OF TRAFFIC FROM RIGHT HAND EMERGENCY STRIP. THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE. AT WHICH POINT I HEARD A LOUD BOOM FROM THE LEFT FRONT PORTION OF THE VEHICLE, AS IF THE TIRE GAVE OUT. I MADE MY WAY AS CLOSE TO THE SHOULDER AS I COULD. I SAW THAT THE LEFT FRONT TIRE WAS DISMANTLED FROM THE CAR AND COMPLETELY TURNED BACKWARDS. AFTER HAVING CAR TOWED TO REPAIR SHOP AND FIXED THEY GAVE ME THE LOWER BALL JOINT WHICH WAS BROKE IN TWO PIECES AND SAID THAT IT FAILED AND CAUSED ALL THE DAMAGE. *KB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SEAT BELT SENSOR WAS MALFUNCTIONING, CAUSING THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE. AS A RESULT, THE AIRBAGS WOULD NOT DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 07V001000 (AIRBAGS:FRONTAL:SENSOR/CONTROL MODULE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF THE FAILURE. NO INSPECTION OR REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 125,000.
AIRBAG LIGHT APPEARS ON THE DADSHBOARD INTERMITTENTLY. IT ONLY COMES ON IF I START THE CAR AND DO NOT HAVE MY SEATBELT ON. IF MY SEATBELT IS ON, THE LIGHT DOES NOT COME ON. FURTHER, WHILE DRIVING AND THE LIGHT IS NOT ON, THE MOMENT I TAKE MY SEATBELT OFF, WHILE THE CAR IS RUNNING, THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON. *KB

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 11V395000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM, PCM)). AFTER HAVING THE REPAIRS PERFORMED, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AND STALLED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE MAINTENANCE WARNING LAMP WAS CONSTANTLY ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,764 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 59,000.
IN 2005 ACCORD, PARKED WITH STEERING COLUMN TURNED. STEERING COLUMN WAS FROZEN. UNABLE TO TURN KEY TO RESTART CAR. TURNING STEERING WHEEL DID NOT HELP. WRECKER, PUTTING PRESSURE ON TIRES TO LOAD ACCORD, RELEASED STEERING COLUMN, AND KEY TURNED, CAR STARTED. VERY DANGEROUS. WILL LEAVE FAMILIES STRANDED. HONDA SERVICE SAYS THERE ARE NO REPAIRS THEY CAN PERFORM. LEARNED THE NEW CARS HAVE THIS PROBLEM TOO. SOLUTION: MAKE IT SO THE TIRES HAVE TO BE STRAIGHT AHEAD BEFORE THE CAR CAN BE TURNED OFF. SOLUTION: FIX THE STEERING COLUMN PROBLEM. *TR
TRANSMISSION STUTTERS IN BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND GEARS ON DECELLERATION AND ACCELERATION. TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO OVERHEAT. ANTICIPATE FAILURE DUE TO THIS ANOMOLY. DO NOT WANT TO EXPERIENCE A LOCK UP OR LOSS OF CONTROL OF VEHICLE. *TT
WHEN TRYING TO BRAKE, MY CAR SHAKES AND SHIMMIES AS IF IT IS STOPPING ON A COBBLESTONE ROAD--WORSE WHEN TRYING TO BRAKE WHEN GOING DOWNHILL OR AT HIGHER SPEEDS. THIS MINIMIZES MY CONTROL AS MY STEERING COLUMN BEGINS TO SHAKE AND I HAVE TO "PUMP" THE BRAKES TO A COMPLETE STOP. I REPLACED THE BRAKES AT ABOUT 3,000 MILES AND HAVE TO KEEP REPLACING THEM AS IT GETS WORSE AND WORSE. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND HE SAID THAT MY BRAKE PADS ARE FINE AND CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT THE ISSUE IS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ACCORD EXL. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INTERMITTENTLY. THE FAILURE PROGRESSED WITH THE CONTINUOUS ILLUMINATION OCCURRING WHENEVER THE ENGINE WAS IN OPERATION. THE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED UNTIL THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS WHO DETECTED THE SEAT POSITION SENSOR WIRING HARNESS WAS FAULTY AND RECOMMENDED REPLACEMENT. THERE WAS A RECALL RELATED TO THE DEFECT UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 07V001000 (AIR BAGS: FRONTAL: SENSOR/CONTROL MODULE). THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,000.
CPSC# I11A0324A. 2006 HONDA ACCORD. HAS A BROKEN EMERGENCY AIRBAG EQUALIZER. *LN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE AIR BAG LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY BUT WITH TIME BECAME PERMANENT. IN ADDITION, THE SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT WOULD NOT ILLUMINATE WHEN THE SEAT BELT WAS NOT ENGAGED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,000.
HONDA ACCORD 2005 V6 UNDER 25,000 MILES SUDDENLY STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WHICH FINALLY FAILED ON MAY 2011 WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. A COMPLETE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION OVERHAUL AND TORQUE CONVERTER CHANGE WERE PERFORMED AT A HONDA DEALER AT A COST OF OVER $2600. NEW TRANSMISSION FELT GREAT DURING THE FIRST 3 MONTHS (EVEN THOUGH IT TORQUE CONVERTER STARTED LEAKING OIL AND I HAD TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR) BUT RECENTLY I HAVE NOTICE ABRUPT DELAYS (SLOW DOWN) WHILE SHIFTING GEARS, LIKE ITS IS PULLING YOU BACK AND STRANGE KICKS WHILE SHIFTING. CAR ACCELERATES SLOWER AS WELL AND DOES NOT REACT AS QUICKLY OR SMOOTHLY AS NEW. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE SAME HONDA DEALER AND THEY SAY NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION. *TR
SUDDEN ACCELERATION OF CAR. PULLING INTO A CAR BAY, ALMOST STATIONERY. ACCELERATOR APPEARED TO BE SUCKED AWAY FROM UNDER FOOT. BRAKES APPLIED, BUT CAR ACCELERATED VERY FAST OVER THE CURB AND INTO WOODEN BOLLARDS (HITTING SO HARD IT RIPPED THEM OUT OF GROUND, AND BROKE IN TWO), THE CAR FELT LIKE CRUISE CONTROL HAD KICKED IN. I DID NOT "ACCIDENTALLY" HIT THE ACCELERATOR, AND MY FLOOR MATS ARE NO WHERE NEAR THE ACCELERATOR (THEY ARE HOOKED DOWN). THE CLEAR COAT STARTED TO PEEL ON THE ROOF OF MY CAR AND NOW COVERS MOST OF THE ROOF. THE PAINT ON THE REST OF THE CAR IS FINE EXCEPT THE ROOF IMPLYING THE ROOF PANEL PAINTING IS DEFECTIVE. *TR
CAR SHUTTERS BETWEEN 35MPH AND 40MPH AND HAS LOST TRANSMISSION FLUID. ITS PROBLEMS ARE EXACTLY LIKE THOSE IN A PRIOR CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST HONDA. THEY HAVEN'T FIXED THE PROBLEM. A RECALL WAS RECEIVED FOR A SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR THE TRANSMISSION, I THINK THEY ARE JUST TRYING TO SEE HOW MANY THEY HAVE OUT THERE DOING WHAT THEY HAVE ALREADY BEEN SUED FOR. AFTER THE SOFTWARE UPDATE NOTHING CHANGED. *TR
2005 HONDA ACCORD HAS FUEL PUMP ISSUES WHICH ARE CONSISTENT WITH SAFETY RECALL. HONDA DEALERSHIPS STATE MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE (BY VIN#) IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, AND THEREFORE WILL NOT MAKE REPAIRS RELATED TO THE RECALL. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED THE CONTACT NOTICED THE CHROME AROUND THE REAR PASSENGERS SIDE DOOR HANDLE WAS BROKEN. A PASSENGER WAS IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AND SUSTAINED A DEEP CUT TO HER RIGHT HAND AND WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL WHERE X-RAYS WERE TAKEN AND THE DOCTOR PLACED STITCHES IN THE CHILD'S WOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THE FUEL GAUGE READING DROPPED TO EMPTY, AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATING ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON THREE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THEY INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 05V132000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:FUSES AND CIRCUIT BREAKERS). NO OTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 147,135.
CLEAR COAT PAINT IS PEELING OFF AROUND THE EDGES OF THE ENTIRE CAR.
MY CAR STARTED HAVING ISSUES WITH THE LIGHTS. THE INDOOR AND OUTDOOR LIGHTS WOULD CONTINUALLY FADE OUT AND THEN RETURN AND THEN FADE AGAIN. OFTEN I HAD NO LIGHTS ON MY DASH OR RADIO. MY WINDOWS STOPPED WORKING AUTOMATICALLY ON THE RIGHT SIDE. WE COULD NOT LOWER THE WINDOW. THE LOCKS STOPPED WORKING OCCASIONALLY. ALL OF THIS IS SOMETHING I HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY OTHER HONDA AS WELL. IT WAS THE SAME MAKE MODEL AND YEAR!! I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST A FLUKE BUT WHEN I GOT THIS CAR THE SAME PROBLEMS STARTED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE ANY FURTHER. THE VEHICLE ROLLED TO A STOP AND WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 90,000.
WINDOWS WONT COME DOWN, ITS A ELECTRIC PROBLEM, CERTAIN LIGHTS IN THE CAR NWOULD GO ON AND OFF EXAMPLE TALE LIGHT. TIRE PROBLEMS, AND OTHER STUFF
OUR 2005 HONDA ACCORD V6 SUDDENLY STOPPED ACCELERATING AND BEHAVED LIKE IT WAS ON NEUTRAL. THE ENGINE REVVED BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD. I HAD TO STOP THE CAR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND PUT MY HAZARDS ON. AFTER A FEW MINUTES I STARTED THE ENGINE AGAIN. WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE THERE WAS A GRINDING NOISE AND I FELT THE CAR GO INTO GEAR A FEW SECONDS LATER. WHEN I ACCELERATED THE CAR STARTED TO MOVE SLOWLY FORWARD AND A WHIRRING NOISE CAME FROM THE ENGINE. I HAD TO STOP AND START THE CAR 3-4 TIMES ON THE REMAINING 3 MILE DRIVE HOME. I TOOK IT INTO A HONDA REPAIR SHOP. WE CONTACTED HONDA CORPORATE AND THEY HAVE OFFERED TO PAY 75% OF THE COST OF REPAIR WHICH IS ESTIMATED AT $5000. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55-60 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO DECELERATE INDEPENDENTLY AND THEN SHIFTED BACK INTO GEAR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE HAD BEEN ON-GOING SINCE FEBRUARY 2011. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC AND THEN TO A DEALER WHERE BOTH CONFIRMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT AUTHORIZED THE DEALER TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED TO PAY HALF OF THE REPAIR COSTS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 61,888. UPDATED 4/25/11 *CN UPDATED 08/22/11
I WAS DRIVING DOING ABOUT 35 MPH AND OUT OF NO WHERE I HEAR THIS BIG POP! THE SIDE AIRBAGS ON THE DRIVER SIDE AND IN THE BACK HAD DEPLOYED. NO ONE HIT ME NOR DID I RUN OVER ANYTHING IN THE STREET.THERE WAS NO TYPE OF IMPACT. THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON. I REPORTED IT TO HONDA DEALERSHIP AS SOON AS I GOT HOME. THEY ASK ME TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN THE NEXT DAY. THE DEALER SHIP AND HONDA AMERICA INSPECTED THE VEHICLE THEIR DETERMINATION WAS THAT THERE WAS UNDERBODY DAMAGE. I COULDN'T BELIEVE WHAT THEY SHOWED ME. IT WAS A SCRATCH, LIKE SOMEONE TOOK A SCREWDRIVER OR SOMETHING AND SCRATCHED THE VEHICLE. THIS WAS THERE REASON FOR DEPLOYMENT. LONG STORY SHORT THEY WOULD NOT FIX THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THEY FELT IT WASN'T THEIR FAULT. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH HONDA AND HOW THIS WAS HANDLED. HONDA STATES THEY ARE SO BIG ON SAFETY FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS BUT YET THEY WILL NOT FIX VEHICLES THAT HAVE DEFECTIVE PARTS THAT SHOULD BE ON A RECALL LIST, AND NOW I HAVE A VEHICLE WITH NO SIDE AIRBAGS AND NO SEAT BELT. WHERE IS THE SAFETY CONCERN?? WHAT IF THIS WOULD HAVE CAUSE AND ACCIDENT WHERE SOME ONE WAS INJURY, MY YOUNGEST DAUGHTER WAS IN THE CAR WITH ME WHEN THIS AIRBAG DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON. THANK GOD IT DIDN'T CAUSE ME TO HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. I HAVE DONE MY OWN RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT THAT THIS SAME INCIDENT HAS HAPPENED TO SEVERAL OTHER CUSTOMERS. CLEARLY THERE IS A MALFUNCTION IN THIS PART/SENSOR. WHEN IS HONDA GOING TO TAKE SOME RESPONSIBILITY AND KEEP THEIR CUSTOMERS SAFE AND DO THE RIGHT THING!!! I WILL CONTINUE TO PURSUE THIS BECAUSE I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT HAPPEN AND IT WAS NOT CAUSE BY SOMETHING HITTING UNDERNEATH MY VEHICLE. *TR
OVER 6 MONTHS AGO, I NOTICED THAT THE LIGHT WHICH SHOWS WHAT GEAR YOU ARE IN ON THE SHIFT COLUMN ON THE FLOORBOARD WASN'T STAYING LIT. SOMETIMES IT WOULD COME ON WHEN I STARTED THE CAR AND OTHER TIMES NOT. SOMETIMES IF I THUMPED ON THE SHIFTER ON PURPOSE, IT WOULD COME BACK ON. THEN SEVERAL WEEKS AGO MY RADIO STOPPED WORKING. AT FIRST THERE WAS NO SOUND BUT THEN A VERY LOUD WEIRD NOISE STARTED HAPPENING AND IT IS EXTREMELY LOUD. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THE NOISE IS TO TURN THE RADIO OFF. THEN AT OTHER TIMES YOU TURN ON THE RADIO AND IT WORKS FINE. NOT LONG AFTER THAT I WAS DRIVING ONE NIGHT AND ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH FLICKED OFF AND ON AGAIN VERY QUICKLY. IT DID IT SEVERAL TIMES DURING MY 3 HOUR TRIP AND THEN STOPPED AND I HADN'T NOTICED IT AGAIN UNTIL TODAY. TODAY MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON. I KNOW SOMETIMES IF YOU DON'T CLICK YOUR FUEL CAP THREE TIMES AFTER REFUELING IT CAN CAUSE THE LIGHT TO COME ON BUT I HAVE NOT REFUELED IN SEVERAL WEEKS. A FEW MINUTES LATER THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON, WENT OFF AND THEN CAME ON AGAIN. SHORTLY AFTER THIS, ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH FLASHED ON AND OFF AGAIN SEVERAL TIMES VERY QUICKLY. THE BATTERY IS NOT THAT OLD AND THIS CAN HAPPEN WHETHER IT'S WET OR DRY CONDITIONS. THE USER MANUAL SAID THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS EMISSION RELATED BUT THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER THINGS HAPPENING THAT I WONDER IF THIS IS SOME SORT OF ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. IT IS SCARY WHEN IT HAPPENS BECAUSE SUDDENLY ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH CANNOT BE SEEN SO YOU CAN'T SEE THE SPEEDOMETER NEEDLE OR ANYTHING. IT'S OK IF IT HAPPENS IN DAYLIGHT BUT IS TRULY UNSAFE IF IT HAPPENS AT NIGHT. *TR

1) STRAP CONNECTING LATCHES HAS TWISTED AND KINKED, MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO CORRECTLY USE LATCHES. HOWEVER SEAT CAN STILL BE SAFELY INSTALLED WITH SEATBELT 2) CHEST CLIP ON SEAT BROKE WHILE IN USE (RELATED VEHICLE INFORMATION: MODEL YEAR=2005, MAKE=ACCORD, MODEL=HONDA). *TR
I OWN A 2005 HONDA ACCORD HYBRID AND EVERY WINTER (MN) AT LEAST 6 -10 TIMES A YEAR THE BRAKES DO NOT WORK. THE POWER BRAKING SYSTEM SIMPLY DOESN'T WORK. IT TAKES EVERY BIT OF STRENGTH IN MY LEGS TO APPLY THE BRAKES, AND IT IS STILL QUITE HARD TO COME TO COMPLETE STOP. SEEMS AS IF THE COLDER IT IS, THE WORSE AND MORE FREQUENT THIS HAPPENS. NO ONE CAN GIVE ME AN ANSWER AS TO WHY IT HAPPENS OR HOW TO FIX IT. HOWEVER, THEY SAY JUST WARM THE CAR UP FIRST. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER BUT NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT SEE ANY SETTINGS FOR THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. I PREVIOUSLY DROVE MY AUNT'S 2005 HONDA ACCORD HYBRID ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. ALMOST AS SOON AS THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION, THE BRAKES FAILED AND CAUSED ACCIDENTS. THE ACCELERATOR WOULD ALSO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN. THE CAR WOULD SIMPLY SPEED UP ON ITS OWN. THE CAR WOULD ALSO AT TIMES STOP OR TURN OFF ON ITS OWN. I ASSUMED BECAUSE THE CAR WAS A HYBRID OR DIFFERENT THAT IT WAS NORMAL. AT TIMES WHEN ACCIDENTS WOULD OCCUR, I COULDN'T BELIEVE WHAT HAD HAPPENED. THE CAR LITERALLY DROVE AWAY. A FEW TIMES OTHERS DROVE THE CAR AND MENTIONED THE SAME. MY AUNT PREVIOUSLY TRIED TRADING IN THE VEHICLE, BUT IT WAS TOO EXPENSIVE TO TRADE IN. ON JANUARY 11,2011. A FATAL ACCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. MY MOTHER, WHOM IS A PRECAUTIOUS DRIVER WAS DRIVING MY COUSIN TO SCHOOL AND WERE INVOLVED IN A FATAL CAR ACCIDENT. THE HONDA STRUCK A SCHOOL BUS RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE. I BELIEVE THE CAR LIKE ON MANY OTHER OCCASIONS ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN OR THE BRAKES FAILED. I FEEL DEVASTATED THAT I HAVE LOST MY MOTHER AND COUSIN BECAUSE OF THIS ACCIDENT, BUT FEEL THAT MY MOTHER WAS NOT AT FAULT. 2005 HONDA ACCORD COUPE. THE AIRBAG SYMBOL LIGHT ON THE PANEL STAYS ON INTERMITTENTLY ONCE I START MY CAR. *TR
I DRIVE A 2005 HONDA ACCORD, WE NOTICED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS LOW SO WE ADDED HONDA TRANSMISSION FLUID. THAT'S WHEN THE CARS RPMS SHOT UP AND I WASN'T HARDLY MOVING. HONDA SAID DO A 9 QUART FLUSH, WHICH WE DID. FOR A DAY OR TWO THINGS SEEMED BETTER, THEN IT WAS FAR WORSE THAN BEFORE WITH THE RPMS AT 6,000 AND I'M ONLY GOING 30. HOPING IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH A CENSOR, WE TOOK IT TO HONDA, THEY TELL ME DON'T WORRY IT'LL BE FINE. HOUR LATER THEY CALL AND SAY YOUR TRANSMISSION IS SHOT. NOW THEY TELL ME I CAN TRADE IT IN, OR GET A NEW ONE FOR $3800. I SAY I'M TAKING IT ELSEWHERE, TO ANOTHER TRANS SHOP, WHO ASKS ME WHICH HONDA I CALLED ABOUT HE'S HAD 3 CALLS THAT MORNING AND HAS 2 WAITING TO BE FIXED. HE SAYS HONDA TRANS ARE POORLY DESIGNED IN THAT FIRST THE FILTER IS HARD TO GET TO AND THAT THERE IS A VERY SMALL HOLE FOR FLUID TO GET THROUGH AND THAT ONCE CLOGGED WITH NO FLUID THE TRANS FAILS. NOW HE'S REBUILDING IT AND OUR SUPPOSED TRUSTY HONDA IS GOING TO COST US $2400 OF WHICH WE DO NOT JUST HAVE SITTING AROUND. I HOPE THAT THERE WILL BE A RECALL, THIS IS TRULY AWFUL OF HONDA A NAME I TRUSTED IN, BUT, NOW WOULD NEVER RECOMMENDED TO ANYONE. *TR
POWER STEERING PUMP FAILED ON MY 2005 HONDA ACCORD EX V6. AM SEEING A LOT OF REPORTS OF ISSUES WITH THE POWER STEERING PUMPS ON THIS MODEL. WANTED TO REPORT MY ISSUE, AND SEE IF HONDA WAS AWARE OF THE ISSUE. *LN
INITIALLY WHEN PUTTING CAR IN REVERSE IT WOULD NOT ENGAGE GOING INTO A FORWARD GEAR ONCE STOPPED. THEN UPON ENTERING HIGHWAY THE ENGINE JUST REVVED AND CAR LOST SPEED ALMOST CAUSING ME TO BE REAR-ENDED AT HIGH SPEED BECAUSE CAR WOULD NOT DRIVE. END RESULT WAS TORQUE CONVERTER WAS FAULTY AND CAUSED TRANSMISSION TO BURN FLUID AND GEARS TO SHRED. CAR WAS TOWED TO HAWLEY'S AUTO REPAIR ON SHAKER ROAD EAST LONGMEADOW, MA ON 12/20 WHERE IT WAS RENDERED FULLY UN-DRIVABLE AS TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY FAILED. HONDA WAS CONTACTED BUT STATED THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIR EVEN THOUGH IT IS A KNOWN FREQUENT FAILURE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH ATTEMPTING TO PARK THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT APPLIED THE BRAKE PEDAL IT FAILED TO SLOW DOWN. THE GEAR SELECTOR WAS SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ENGAGED; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. WHEN THE GEARS WERE SHIFTED FROM THE NEUTRAL POSITION INTO THE PARK, THE VEHICLE LOST CONTROL, STRUCK A CURB AND FLIPPED OVER. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BRUISES, AND THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED AN INJURY TO THE BLADDER. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED FOR THE INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A COLLISION CENTER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 27,000.

I HAVE A 2005 HONDA ACCORD HYBRID. I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE AWAY FROM MY HOME AND HAD TROUBLE PRESSING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD NOT DEPRESS AND I COULD NOT USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP EITHER. THE BRAKE WAS HARD AND SEEMED AS IF IT WAS FROZEN OR STUCK IN PLACE. WHEN I PULLED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE LEVER ALL IT DID WAS BEEP AND FLASH THAT I HAD PULLED IT, IT DID NOT SLOW ME DOWN OR STOP ME. I HAD GONE THROUGH 2 STOP SIGNS AT THIS POINT. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR INTO REVERSE SO THAT THE ENGINE WOULD REV AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD FINALLY DEPRESS. THAT WAS THE ONLY THING THAT WOULD WORK. THE CAR DID NOT GO IN REVERSE BUT IT DID STOP ENOUGH FOR ME TO ACTUALLY USE THE BRAKE. I CALLED HONDA DIRECTLY AND BECAUSE NO COMPLAINTS WERE PREVIOUSLY ISSUED THEY COULD NOT HELP ME. MY LOCAL DEALERS WERE TOO BOOKED UP TO HANDLE THE ISSUE AS WELL. AFTER IT HAPPENING A TOTAL OF 4 TIMES I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET IN TOUCH WITH A MECHANIC WHO WILL BE CHECKING OUT THE VEHICLE. I AM VERY LUCKY THAT THIS DID NOT END UP IN A CRASH OR FATALITY. I HAD MY 3 YEAR OLD SON IN THE CAR AND I AM PREGNANT WITH OUR SECOND CHILD. SYSTEMS SHOULD BE IN PLACE TO HELP PEOPLE OUT IN SITUATIONS LIKE THIS AND THERE WERE NOT. FOR THIS REASON I WOULD NEVER BUY A HYBRID NOR A HONDA AGAIN. IM HOPING THE MECHANIC I FOUND CAN FIX THE PROBLEM OR ATLEAST FIGURE OUT WHAT IT IS BEFORE MYSELF OR SOMEONE ELSE GETS HURT WHEN MY BRAKE PEDAL DECIDES TO FAIL AGAIN. THE AIR CONDITIONING ON MY 2005 HONDA ACCORD STOPPED WORKING...TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND HE SAID AFTER TRYING TO RECHARGE THE SYSTEM THAT THE CONDENSER HAD A PUNCTURE ON IT. UPON RESEARCHING THIS MISHAP I FIND THAT QUITE A FEW OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS KIND OF THING HAPPEN TO THEM BECAUSE THE CONDENSER IS NOT PROTECTED...IT IS COMPLETELY EXPOSED AND CAN BE DAMAGED QUITE EASILY...HONDA SHOULD PROVIDE A RETROFIT....MAYBE A SCREEN OF SOME TYPE...AND REIMBURSE DRIVERS OF THEIR VEHICLES FOR THE COST OF REPLACING THE CONDENSER..... *TR
THE SEAT POSITION SENSOR (SPS) WIRING HARNESS IN MY 2005 HONDA ACCORD IS BROKEN CAUSING THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT TO BE ILLUMINATED AND THE SPS TO FAIL. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS SYMPTOM IS IDENTICAL TO THAT ADDRESSED BY RECALL NUMBER: 07V001000, WHICH APPLIED TO CERTAIN 2004 AND 2005 HONDA ACCORDS. HOWEVER, MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE HONDA RECALL. I BELIEVE THAT THE OMISSION OF MY 2005 HONDA ACCORD'S VIN FROM RECALL NUMBER 07V001000 IS IN ERROR AND SHOULD BE CORRECTED. THE HONDA DEALER CHANGED AN INITIAL $95.07 FOR DIAGNOSING THE PROBLEM, AND HAS OFFERED TO INSTALL A NEW WIRING HARNESS AT MY EXPENSE. AT THIS TIME NO ACTION HAS BEEN TAKEN. THE FAULTY WIRING HARNESS IS STILL INSTALLED AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS STILL ILLUMINATED AND THE SPS IS STILL IN FAILURE MODE. *TR
AS ACCELERATING THE VEHICLE A HARD JERK HAPPENS WHILE SHIFTING GEARS FROM 1 TO 2ND GEAR. THE RPMS GO EXTREMELY HIGH EVEN IF YOU ACCELERATE THE CAR GENTLY AND ONCE YOU LET GO THE CAR TAKES A COUPLE OF SECONDS TO DROP THE RPMS AND YOU FEEL THE JERK AND THEN THE THUMP. IF I NEED TO BRAKE SUDDENLY THE CAR MAKES LIKE A THUMP SOUND AND THE TRANSMISSION FEELS AND SOUND ABNORMAL. THIS ONLY OCCURS WHEN YOU FIRST ACCELERATE THE CAR AND YOU'RE GOING FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR. IT DOESN'T HAPPEN ON ANY OTHER GEARS. I HAVEN'T FELT THIS IN ANY OTHER CAR. THIS INCIDENT WITH THE GEAR CHANGE HAPPENS ALWAYS WITH THE CAR, IN THE MORNINGS, AT AN SIGNAL INTERSECTION, AND/OR LEAVING ANY PLACE. IT ALSO OCCURS RECURRENTLY. *TR

2005 ACCORD HYBRID - IMA FAILURE, TAKATA RECALL AIR BAGS, AND POWER STEERING FAILURES. I HAVE TAKEN MY HYBRID IN SEVERAL TIMES IN THE LAST 8 YEARS WITH THE IMA AND ENGINE LIGHT ON. DEALER DID 2 COMPUTER UPGRADES TO "FIX" IT. "NOT FIXED"; I STILL HAVE THE IMA AND ENGINE LIGHT ON. NOW NO POWER STEERING OR $1500.00 TO FIX THAT AND HONDA SENT ME HOME WITH IT NOT FIXED - NOT SAFE! AT ONE POINT I HAD NO POWER AS I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM SEATTLE TO PORTLAND WITH NO ACCELARATOR POWER. IT WAS LIKE I WAS COASTING AT 50 MPH FOR ABOUT 75 MILES UNTIL I REACHED MY HOME. I TOOK IT TO HONDA DEALER, THEY SAID IT WOULD COST ME OVER $4500.00 TO REPLACE THE IMA, WHICH WAS UNDER WARRANTY WHEN I FIRST TOOK IT IN IN 2009, 2010, AND AFTER. THEY SAID "DRIVE YOUR CAR MORE". BUT MY IMA STILL COMES ON SINCE I DON'T DRIVE MUCH SINCE MY STROKE IN 2012 AND DON'T HAVE $5-10K LAYING AROUND. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED UNDER ORIGINAL WARRANTY AND THE EXTENDED WARRANTIES. HOWEVER, HONDA REFUSED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. NOW THAT I AM BEYOND 8-9-10 YEAR WARRANTY, THEY WILL FIX IT ALL FOR $8-10K. I ALSO HAVE THE TAKATA AIR BAG LIGHT COMING ON. I HAD A STROKE IN 2012, I CANNOT PAY $5K, $10K, OR EVEN $2K. THE ACCORD HYBRID WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE CIVIC IMA LAWSUIT, NOR INCLUDED IN THE TAKATA AIR BAG RECALL BECAUSE THERE ARE ONLY A FEW OF US OWNERS OF ORIGINAL 2005 ACCORD HYBRIDS, BUT BY THE COMPLAINTS I READ; ALL HAVE THE SAME ISSUES. I NOW HAVE THE POWER STEERING OUT AND THE DEALER TODAY SENT ME HOME CHARGING ME $250.00 FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND DIAGNOSTIC; THEY TOLD ME WHAT I TOLD THEM AND HAVE BEEN TELLING THEM SINCE 2009 WHEN I INHERITED IT FROM MY DAD. NOW I'M ON DISABILITY AND CAN'T WORK. HONDA WANTS ME TO PAY THEM 10K TO FIX IT ALL KNOWING IT VIOLATES SAFETY AND HEALTH LAWS OTHER LAWS THEY WERE SUED FOR. I WANT HONDA TO FIX MY CAR OR GIVE ME A NEW ONE ALL FOR FREE BEFORE I DIE IN THE DANG CAR!
