CAR LOSES ACCELERATION WHEN DRIVING. TACHOMETER RISES BUT CAR WILL NOT MOVIE. INCIDENT HAS HAPPENED A TOTAL OF 5 TIMES BEGINNING 9/08. *TR
2007 HONDA ACCORD THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE IGNITION LOCK WITH THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION VEHICLES. THE KEY WILL GET STUCK IN THE IGNITION AT RANDOM TIMES. I CAME TO THE CONCLUSION WHERE THE VEHICLE WILL NOT REGISTER ITS IN PARK. SO YOU CAN TURN THE ENGINE OFF HOWEVER THE KEY WILL BE STUCK IN THE ON POSITION WHERE THE RADIO WOULD STILL BE PLAYING BUT WILL NOT LET YOU TURN THE KEY BACK TO REMOVE IT OUT THE IGNITION. YOU HAVE TO PUT THE CAR IN GEAR THEN BACK IN PARK MULTIPLE TIMES BEFORE IT WILL LET YOU TURN THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY OFF WHERE YOU CAN REMOVE THE KEY. *TR
IN APPROXIMATELY AUGUST 2008, THE HORN ON MY 2007 HONDA ACCORD STOPPED WORKING. IT HAD BEEN WORKING FINE BEFORE, BUT WOULD NOT WORK WHEN I TRIED TO WARN ANOTHER DRIVER WHO WAS VEERING INTO MY LANE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND CONFIRMED WITH THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP THAT IT WASN'T WORKING. THEN, WHEN I PICKED IT UP THAT EVENING, HE SAID THAT IT HAD STARTED WORKING AND HE COULDN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. HE SAID INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS ARE HARD TO DIAGNOSE AND TO COME BACK WHEN IT STOPS WORKING AGAIN. SINCE THEN THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN ON AND OFF AND IN HEAVY TRAFFIC I HAVE NARROWLY AVOIDED 3 ACCIDENTS WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO USE MY HORN. *TR
TL*- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA ACCORD. THE VEHICLE HAD MICHELIN PILOT TIRES 215/55R17. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO SLOW DOWN, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE SPUN OUT OF CONTROL AND CRASHED INTO A CONCRETE DIVIDER AND ENDED ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE DRIVER STATED THAT IT WAS A SEVERE CRASH. THE DRIVER CONFIRMED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE BLEW OUT. ONE OF THE PASSENGERS WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL; HOWEVER, THERE WERE NO INJURIES SUSTAINED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO PRIOR WARNINGS SIGNS OF THE TIRE BEING DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS LESS THAN ONE YEAR OLD. THE FAILURE OCCURRED IN AUGUST 2008. THE DOT NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AS SHE WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH HER VEHICLE ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO A BUILDING CAUSING DAMAGES TO HER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT AND THE PASSENGER WERE INJURED AND PREGNANT. THEY WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL. A POLICE REPORT IS AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE HONDA MANUFACTURER STATED THAT IF SPECIALIST DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY THE COST SINCE THERE WERE NO RELATED RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE CONTACT REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN HE DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, IT HELD FOR A MOMENT AND THEN BEGAN TO VIBRATE. HE APPLIED MORE PRESSURE TO THE PEDAL, BUT IT WOULD NOT HOLD. MY 2007 HONDA ACCORD A/C STOPPED WORKING THIS WEEK BUT IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. I WAS TOLD BY HONDA DEALER THAT THE CONDENSER HAS A SMALL INDENT/HOLE. I FOUND A LOT OF HONDO CONSUMERS HAVE THE SAME STORY AS ME. SINCE THE CONDENSER IS NOT PROPERLY PROTECTED FROM DEBRIS, IT IS DEFINITELY A DESIGN FLAW. WHY OUR CONSUMERS HAVE TO PAY FOR THE DESIGN FLAW? *TR
THE DASH AND HEADLIGHTS FLICKER WHENEVER THE AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR CYCLES, EVEN AT HIGHWAY SPEED. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER, AND THEY SAID THAT ALL HONDA'S DO IT. I RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM, AND IT'S EVIDENT THAT THE ISSUE IS WIDESPREAD. MY CAR IS A 2007 ACCORD. *TR
A/C CONDENSER IN HONDA ACCORD 2007 DAMAGED BY PEBBLES IN FREEWAY. MY HONDA ACCORD LX SEDAN A/C WAS NOT WORKING AFTER 16000 MILES. TOOK IT TO DEALER AND HE SAID IT IS FROM PEBBLE FROM ROAD OR FROM OTHER CARS DAMAGED THE A/C CONDENSER. WHAT KIND OF VEHICLE DESIGN IS THAT ALLOWS PEBBLES TO ALLOW IT TO HIT CARS INTERNAL PART AND DAMAGE IT. HONDA DEALER AS WELL AS CUSTOMER SERVICE ASKS TO CLAIM FILE TO INSURANCE. WHY SHOULD I PAY $500 DEDUCTIBLE FOR CAR WHICH IS NOT DESIGNED TO PROTECT IT SENSITIVE PARTS .!! TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE SWAYED ACROSS THE HIGHWAY TO AVOID STRIKING AN ANIMAL. THE VEHICLE ROLLED OVER TWICE BEFORE CRASHING INTO A CHAIN LINK FENCE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY, BUT THE CONTACT WAS NOT INJURED. THE FIRE AND POLICE DEPARTMENTS ARRIVED AT THE SCENE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE INSURANCE COMPANY STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
I OWEN A 2007 HONDA ACCORD MODEL LX 4 DR. 6 CYL. THE CAR IS EQUIPPED WITH MICHELIN PILOT MXM4 P215/50R17 93V XL RRBL TIRES. AT 4000 MILES THE LEFT FRONT TIRE DEVELOPED A BUBBLE ON THE SIDE. I REPLACED AT MY COST. AT 8000 MILES THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE DEVELOPED A BUBBLE. I REPLACED IT MY COST. THE TIRE DEALER SAID IT WAS THE CAR DESIGN AND THE CAR DEALER SAID IT WAS THE TIRE. I AM REPORTING THIS BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR 50 YEARS AND OWEN NUMEROUS CARS AND NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM. PLEASE ADVISE . THANK YOU *TR
2007 HONDA ACCORD WITH VERY BAD BLIND SPOTS. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE BLIND SPOTS ARE SO BAD AROUND THE FRONT WINDOW SUPPORTS THAT YOU CAN'T SEE VEHICLES. HE ALSO STATES THAT HE HAS ALMOST HIT 2 PEOPLE DUE TO THESE BLIND SPOTS. *KB
MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL DIFFICULTIES VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS DUE TO SPORADIC WORKING OF THE POWER DOOR LOCKS AND KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM. THEY STILL HAVE NOT FOUND THE ISSUE. IT IS WORSE WHEN IT IS HUMID AND/OR RAINS. DURING THE WINTER MONTHS OF 2007/2008; THE STEREO'S LCD WENT WARPED AND THE WHOLE STEREO HAD TO BE REPLACED. ON MEMORIAL DAY 2008; THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT CAUGHT FIRE WHILE I WAS SITTING IN IT PARKED WAITING ON MY CHILDREN TO COME OUT OF A THEME PARK. MY HUSBAND BURNED HIS HAND TRYING TO PUT OUT THE FIRE; AND WAS OUT OF WORK FOR ABOUT 2-WEEKS DUE TO THE BURN. THE DEALERSHIP AND HONDA REFUSED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS FIRE; WHICH STARTED INSIDE THE SEAT DUE TO THE ELECTRONIC SEATS AND/OR HEATED LEATHER SEATS, AS DETERMINED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY APPRAISER. THE SEAT HAD TO BE REPLACED, THE ELECTRONIC SEAT COMPONENTS, HEATED LEATHER SEAT COMPONENTS, PART OF THE CENTER CONSOLE, AND THE CARPETING AND FLOOR MATS. WE GOT THE CAR BACK ON JULY 3. ON MONDAY, JULY 7; MY HUSBAND TOOK THE CAR TO HAVE IT INSPECTED (AT THE DEALERSHIP); SINCE THE STATE INSPECTION WAS PAST DUE. THEY REJECTED THE INSPECTION STATING THAT THE ELECTRONIC SYSTEM IS NOT RECOGNIZING THE SEAT BELTS. THEY LATER CHANGED THEIR TUNE WHEN I CALLED THEM AND ARE NOW TRYING TO SAY IT WASN'T THAT IT WAS THE AIRBAG WASN'T HOOKED UP; AND THEY COULD FIX IT. I KNOW THEY ARE LYING, AND THEY ARE TRYING TO COVER THEIR TRACKS AS THIS I AM SURE IS JUST ANOTHER ELECTRICAL ISSUE IN MY CAR. I AM AT MY WITS END ON WHAT TO DO WITH THIS CAR. I CAN'T AFFORD TO TRADE IT IN, I HAVE SPENT OVER $1000 ON RENTAL CARS WAITING FOR IT TO BE REPAIRED, AND NOW THIS. ALSO, THE POWER DOOR LOCKS STILL DO NOT WORK. *TR
WE WERE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY 75 IN RICHARDSON, TX ON 4/23/08 ABOUT 9PM ON A STORMY NIGHT WITH A LOT OF LIGHTNING AND RAIN AND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG AND PASSENGER SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS CAME OUT WITH A VERY LOUD GUN SHOT LIKE SOUND BUT DID NOT FULLY INFLATE. MY WIFE AND I WERE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT HAPPENED TO CAUSE THEM TO DO THAT SO WE SLOWED DOWN AND PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. WE THOUGHT WE HAD BEEN SHOT AT OR SOMETHING WAS THROWN AT THE CAR BECAUSE WE WERE NOT HIT BY ANOTHER AUTO. I GOT OUT AND LOOKED THE CAR OVER AND FOUND NO REASON FOR THE AIRBAGS AND CURTAIN TO DO THAT. MY WIFE WAS THOROUGHLY SHAKEN AND IS STILL "GUN SHY" SO TO SPEAK TODAY RIDING IN ANY VEHICLE. WE STARTED TO GET BACK ON THE HIGHWAY AND A FEW CAR LENGTHS DOWN THE ROAD REALIZED THAT WE ALSO HAD A FLAT ON THE FRONT RIGHT TIRE. HONDA SAYS WE RAN OVER SOMETHING THAT CAUSED THE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY AND THAT IT WAS AN INSURANCE ISSUE SINCE WE COINCIDENTALLY HAD A FLAT AFTER THE AIRBAGS PARTIALLY DEPLOYED. WE OBVIOUSLY DID RUN OVER SOMETHING TO CUT THE TIRE BUT NO REASON TO MAKE THE AIRBAGS PARTIALLY DEPLOY AND WE CERTAINLY NEVER EXPECTED SIDE IMPACT AIR CURTAINS AND AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY EVEN IF WE RAN OVER SOMETHING. THE HONDA SERVICEMAN SAID WHATEVER WE HIT RAISED THE BACK FLOORBOARD 2 INCHES - WE THINK IN THAT CAR THAT LOW TO THE GROUND THAT WE WOULD HAVE HEARD IT HIT AND/OR FELT IT HIT IF IT DID THAT MUCH DAMAGE. WE HAVE HAD THE CAR SINCE LAST SEPTEMBER AND HAVE NOT HAD ONE COMPLAINT AND THE OUTSIDE OF THE CAR IS JUST LIKE BRAND NEW - NOT EVEN A SCRATCH ON IT. WE HAVE PICTURES OF THE CAR WITH THE DEFECTED AIRBAGS AND CURTAIN SHOWN WITH AN "UNDAMAGED" BODY. THE AIR CURTAIN YOU CAN TELL NEVER INFLATED - LOOKS LIKE NEW WITH ALL THE WRINKLES AND FOLDS. IT NEVER HIT MY WIFE AT ALL. WE SURELY THOUGHT HONDA WOULD HAVE STOOD BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS BETTER THAN THIS. *TR
CAR WAS IDLING WAITING AS A GAS STATION, FOOT ON BRAKES, IN DRIVE GEAR, ALL OF A SUDDEN, THE ENGINE STARTED TO REV UP (LIKE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL), I SHIFTED TO PARK AND PULLED THE EMERGENCY BRAKES. CAR STOPPED REVVING. CAR WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER THE NEXT DAY. THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. AGAIN, ON OR ABOUT SEPTEMBER 23, 2008, IT HAPPENED AGAIN WHILE WAITING ON LINE AT THE GAS STATION. DID THE SAME AS BEFORE, SHIFTED TO PARK, PULLED EMERGENCY BRAKES ON. REVVING STOPPED. RETURNED CAR TO DEALER, EXPLAINED PROBLEM AGAIN. THEY ROAD TESTED CAR, CHECKED IDLE CONTROL, AND TRANSMISSION PCM FOR FAILURE CODES AND RETRIEVED NONE. THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPEN AGAIN APPROXIMATELY 3 MORE TIME AFTER THAT AND THE PROBLEM HAD NOT RECURRED SINCE. DID ANYONE ENCOUNTERED A SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH THEIR HONDA ACCORD? IF I DID NOT SHIFT TO PARK, WOULD THE CAR ACCELERATE EVEN IF MY FOOT WAS STILL DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL? I READ ON ONE OF THE HONDA FORUMS THAT SOMEONE SAID IT WAS A SOFTWARE PROBLEM? APPRECIATE ANY FEEDBACK. *TR
HAD BOUGHT THE CAR NEW AND AFTER ABOUT 6 MONTHS, THE CAR MADE A FUNNY SOUND WHILE STARTING, DROVE FOR ABOUT A MILE AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON FOLLOWED BY THE CAR JERKING AND GETTING STUCK AT THE 3000RPM MARK, DID NOT GO PAST 3000RPM. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED AND REPAIRS WERE MADE. *TR
BACKING INTO MY PARKING SPOT AT WORK I INADVERTENTLY TURNED THE ENGINE OFF WHILE THE CAR WAS IN REVERSE. I REMOVED MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE AND THE CAR ROLLED FORWARD, ACROSS THE DRIVEWAY. I WAS TOLD, BY THE DEALER AND AMERICAN HONDA, THAT THIS WAS NORMAL - THAT THE CAR GOES INTO "NEUTRAL" WHEN THE IGNITION IS OFF AND I SHOULD PUT THE CAR IN PARK (DUH!). THIS SEEMS A SERIOUS SAFETY RISK SHOULD A CHILD OR ANYONE PUT A CAR (I TESTED THIS WITH MY 2006 VOLVO S60, AS WELL) IN GEAR, IT WILL NOT GEAR-LOCK. *TR
I WAS INVOLVED IN A MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT IN WHICH MY 2007 HONDA ACCORD WAS HIT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AT APPROX TWENTY MILES PER HOUR. THE SIDE IMPACT AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE POINT OF IMPACT WAS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR. *TR
I HAVE SEEN THIS PROBLEM ON BOTH HONDA AND ACURA MODELS. THE DASH BOARD IS ILLUMINATED AND THE DAY TIME RUNNING LIGHT ARE ON BUT THE HEADLIGHTS ARE NOT. THE PROBLEM IS THE DRIVER BELIEVES THE LIGHTS ARE ON AS THE DASH BOARD IS ON AND THEY HAVE SOME FORWARD VISION. I BELIEVE THE PROBLEM IS THE OWNERS FORGET TO MANUALLY TURN ON THE HEADLIGHTS. IT APPEARS AS IF THE HEADLIGHTS ARE ON WHEN IN FACT THEY ARE NOT. THE MAIN PROBLEMS IS THE TAIL LAMPS ARE NOT ON. TWICE IN THE RECENT PAST ON A DARK CURVED SECTION OF THE HIGHWAY I HAVE ALMOST CHANGED LANES INTO A BLACK HONDA ACCORD AND ON A DIFFERENT OCCASION A BLACK ACURA TSX DUE TO THE SAME ISSUE. FROM BEHIND IN THE DARK THEY ARE BASICALLY INVISIBLE. BOTH TIMES I HAVE TRIED TO NOTIFY THE DRIVER AND BOTH TIMES I WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. I COULD SEE THEIR INSTRUMENT PANEL ILLUMINATED AND COULD NOT GET THEM TO UNDERSTAND THEIR HEADLIGHT WERE NOT ON SINCE FROM THEIR PERSPECTIVE EVERYTHING WAS ON. EITHER THE HEADLIGHTS SHOULD TURN ON AUTOMATICALLY OR THE INSTRUMENT PANEL SHOULD NOT BE ILLUMINATED IF THE HEADLIGHT ARE OFF. THE CURRENT OPERATION OF THESE VEHICLES IS UNSAFE. *TR
HONDA 6SPD TRANSMISSION HAS PROBLEM WITH 3RD GEAR. WHEN SHIFTING FROM 2ND TO 3RD GEAR, TRANSMISSION WILL EITHER POP OUT OF GEAR OR GRIND INTO GEAR. PROBLEM DOES NOT OCCUR ALL OF THE TIME AND STARTED WITH THE FIRST 7,500 MILES. PROBLEM OCCURS AT VARIOUS INTERVALS AT ABOUT 1-5% OF TOTAL DRIVE TIME. THIS USUALLY TAKES PLACE WHEN I FIRST START DRIVING THE CAR BUT STILL HAPPENS AFTER THIS AT FEWER INTERVALS. I'VE TAKEN THE CAR IN SEVERAL TIMES AND ADDRESSED THE ISSUE AT EVERY SERVICE. THE DEALER IS UNABLE TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM SINCE THE ISSUE DOESN'T HAPPEN VERY OFTEN. ON OR ABOUT THE 21 FEB 08 THE TRANSMISSION FAILED TO ENTER 2ND GEAR. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT INTO 2ND BUT COULD NOT SHIFT INTO 1ST GEAR. THE DEALER FIXED THE ISSUE WITH 1ST GEAR AND SAID THEY FIXED 3RD. ON THE DRIVE HOME AND THERE AFTER I STILL HAD TROUBLE SHIFTING FROM 2ND TO 3RD. I NOW HAVE TROUBLE SHIFTING FROM 3RD TO 4TH. I'VE TRIED TO TAKE IT IN RECENTLY BUT THEY WHERE STILL UNABLE TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM. *TR
BOUGHT 2007 HONDA ACCORD HYBRID IN OCT, 07. REPORTED THAT THE CAR MAKES CLUNK NOISES WHEN SHIFTING SOMETIMES AND VIBRATES THE ENTIRE WHEN PULLING OFF SLOWLY AS IT AUTOMATICALLY SHIFTS INTO GEAR. THE CAR ALSO HESITATES WHEN PRESSING GAS TO SPEED UP WHICH NEARLY CAUSED ME TO GET REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER CAR WHO HAD TO HIT BRAKES TO STOP FROM HITTING ME. HAVE REPORTED THIS PROBLEM SEVERAL TIMES IN WHICH THE LAST TIME THE ENGINEER WAS CONTACTING AND IT WAS STATED THAT THIS IS NORMAL OPERATION OF THE CAR AND NOTHING COULD BE DONE TO PREVENT. COMPLAINTS STARTED AT 1000 MILES AND CAR NOW HAS 600 MILES. HAVE VOICED COMPLAINT WITH DEALERSHIP AND HONDA OF AMERICA AND TO DATE NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE ABOUT THE ISSUE. IT IS CRAZY TO SPEND THIS MUCH MONEY ON A CAR THAT AM BEING TOLD THAT VIBRATIONS AND CLUNKING NOISES ARE NORMAL. THIS IS TRULY A MATTER OF THE CUSTOMER BEING TREATED UNFAIRLY. ADDITIONALLY HONDA SAID THEY WOULD TAKE THE CAR IN AS TRADE AND GIVE ME $23,000 FOR THE CAR WHEN BLUE BOOK SAYS IT IS WORK CLOSE TO $26,000.. $3000 BELOW BLUE BOOK VALUE AND YET THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. *TR

THE CONTACT PLANS TO NOTIFY HONDA. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 600. THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE STOPPED SHE RELEASED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND PUT THE VEHICLE IN GEAR. JANUARY 2007 I PURCHASE A 207 HONDA ACCORD COUPE FROM BALE HONDA IN LITTLE ROCK ARK. ON OCTOBER 31 , I WAS HIT FROM THE REAR OF MY CAR STARTED MAKING THIS BREATHING NOISE AND I COULD SEE SPARKS COMING FROM THE REAR. I AM AN OTR CDL-LICENSED DRIVER, AND, ON MORE THAN A FEW OCCASIONS OVER THE PAST 6 MONTHS, I HAVE OBSERVED SEVERAL MODELS OF NISSAN AND HONDA VEHICLES CRUISING AT DUSK WITH THEIR DASH LIGHTS ON, BUT WITH NO EXTERIOR MARKER, PARKING, TAIL, OR HEADLIGHTS BURNING. THEY ARE VIRTUALLY INVISIBLE, ESPECIALLY WHEN MIXED IN WITH OTHER NORMALLY-ILLUMINATED VEHICLES. WHEN ALERTED AS THEY PASS BY HORN AND FLASHING LIGHTS, THE DRIVER'S USUAL REACTION IS TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES, AND THEN TURN ON THE HEADLIGHTS.
