TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V370000 (AIR BAGS) HOWEVER, THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE TO PERFORM THE REPAIRS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
MY SON WAS DRIVING MY 2007 HONDA ACCORD SE ON JULY 30, 2015. HE CROSSED THE PARKING LOT OF A COLLEGE CAMPUS. AS HE WAS TURNING INTO ANOTHER PARKING SECTION THE BRAKES FAILED AND THE POWER STEERING LOCKED AND FAILED AND LOST CONTROL HITTING A POLE. I'M DEVASTATED THAT SOMETHING LIKE THIS WOULD HAPPEN. I'VE MESSAGED HONDA WITH THIS INFORMATION ALONG WITH PICTURES. I'VE SUBMITTED THE VIN, MILEAGE, AND PICTURES AS THEY REQUESTED. I'M HOPING HONDA LOOKS INTO THIS MATTER. I'VE ALWAYS MAINTAINED MY CAR AND THERE IS NO REASON FOR MULTIPLE FAILURES. I'M LOOKING FOR MY CAR TO BE REPLACED.
I RECEIVED DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIRBAG RECALL NOTICE. VERY NEXT BUSINESS DAY, I CALLED TWO CLOSE BY HONDA DEALERS TO GET AN APPOINTMENT TO GET THE AIRBAGS FIXED, BUT BOTH SAID THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS AVAILABLE TO REPLACE AND, WHILE THEY CAN ORDER IT NOW, IT MIGHT TAKE COUPLE OF WEEKS TO RECEIVE THEM. I AM ASSUMING THEY ARE AWARE OF THESE RECALLS, SO I AM SURPRISED THAT THEY DON'T HAVE PARTS AVAILABLE AND THEY WILL ORDER ONLY WHEN SOMEONE CALLS. AND, I WILL BE DRIVING FOR AT LEAST COUPLE OF WEEKS WITH THE RISK OF HAVING A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG. HONDA NEEDS TO UP THEIR GAME AND HAVE THESE PARTS AVAILABLE ALL THE TIME OR WITHIN A SHORT NOTICE (1-2 DAYS), INSTEAD OF HAVING CUSTOMERS WAIT FOR COUPLE OF WEEKS, THAT'S JUST VERY LONG TIME TO RISK DRIVING.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED SEVERAL YEARS AGO AND SHE COULD NOT REMEMBER WHETHER THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED OR IN MOTION WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOTH A DEALER AND AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLUSTER FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.

THE PASSENGER WINDOWS (1 FRONT & 2 REAR) STOPPED WORKING. WHEN THEY STOPPED WORKING, THE WINDOWS WERE PARTIALLY DOWN. I COULD NOT RAISE THE WINDOWS BY ANY USUAL MEANS. ALL I WOULD GET IS A CLICKING SOUND AT THE MASTER WINDOW CONTROL AND THE INDIVIDUAL RESPECTIVE WINDOWS CONTROLS WHEN I TRIED TO RAISE THEM. THE ONLY WINDOW THAT WOULD OPERATE IN A NORMAL MANNER WAS THE DRIVER'S WINDOW. THE DRIVER'S WINDOW WOULD GO UP OR DOWN AS NEEDED WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM. THIS APPEARS TO BE AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE THAT HAS AFFECTED MANY HONDA MODELS OF VARIOUS YEARS, INCLUDING MODELS NEWER & OLDER THAT MY 2007 HONDA ACCORD SE. THE ISSUE DOES NOT INVOLVE A WINDOW REGULATOR, NOR WINDOW MOTOR. IT APPEARS TO INVOLVE THE MASTER WINDOW CONTROL AND/OR THE VEHICLE'S ECU (ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT) THAT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE'S WINDOWS. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY HONDA AT NO CHARGE TO OWNERS OF HONDA VEHICLES.

AS A RESULT, COVERING WAS APPLIED FOR PROTECTION. IN ADDITION, BOTH REAR POWER WINDOWS FAILED TO OPERATE WHENEVER ACTIVATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE FOR DRIVER AND PASSENDER AIR BAG INFLATORS, CAMPAIGN #JQ9 / SERVICE BULLETIN #15-040 FROM AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO. I CALLED TO EXPLAIN THAT THE NEAREST DEALER WAS OVER 2 HOURS AWAY AND THE BURDEN WAS EXCESSIVE TO HAVE THE RECALL FULFILLED BY A DEALER. I REQUESTED THAT I BE AUTHORIZED TO HAVE A LOCAL REPAIR FACILITY CORRECT THE DEFICIENCIES. THE REPRESENTATIVE WAS UNWILLING TO PROVIDE MEANINGFUL ASSISTANCE TO FULFILL MY REQUEST. SHE ONLY STATED THAT IF I DIDN'T USE A HONDA DEALER I COULD PAY OUT OF POCKET.
I WAS FOLLOWING TO CLOSE, WHEN THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED, IT BURNT MY ARM PRETTY BAD, MY ARM FELT LIKE IT WAS ON FIRE, GOT A FEW LACERATIONS, BUT REALLY CONCERNED ABOUT THE AIRBAGS, THAT WAS EXTREMELY HOT AND COULD HAVE CAUSED SOME SEVERE INJURIES, I CANT HAVE MY CARPAL TUNNEL SURGERY THAT WAS SCHEDULED BECAUSE OF THE BURNS, NOT A HAPPY PERSON

FRIDAY MORNING (5/15/2015) AROUND 11:00AM I WAS DRIVING IN INTERSTATE WITH MY BROTHER AS PASSENGER AND MY DAUGHTER AT BACK SEATING ON HER CARSEAT. I FOLLOWED A CAR ABOUT 40FT IN FRONT OF ME WITH THE CRUISING SPEED 70MPH. SUDDENLY I SAW A SMALL TIRE FRAGMENT A SIZE OF XBOX CONTROLLER AND CAREFULLY PASSED IN BETWEEN, SECONDS AFTER THERE WAS A LOUD BANG INSIDE THE CAR I THOUGHT THE TIRE WAS BLOWN OUT. I SLOWED DOWN AND PUT ON HAZARD SIGNAL AND MOVED MY CAR SAFELY ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I NOTICED THE PASSENGER SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG DEPLOYED. I SAFELY MADE A VISUAL CHECK ON MY TIRE, FRONT BUMPER, ANY UNUSUAL BUT EVERYTHING WAS OKAY. THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT LOCKOUT, SIDE PASSENGER SEAT BLOWN OUT. DRIVING HONDA ACCORD EX-L V6 YEAR: 2007
I HAVE HAD THREE COOPER TIRES FAIL ALL CS4 MODELS. THE COMPLAINT IS ALL THE SAME, THE TIRE DEVELOPS A SIDE WALL LEAK AND CRACKS LEADING TO LOW PRESSURE AND TIRE FAILURE. EACH ONE FAILED AT 17K,15K & 22K MILES. IN EACH INSTANCE THE TIRE WAS REPLACED WITH THE SAME MODEL CS4 COOPER TIRE AND REPEATS THE SAME PROBLEM. EACH ONE WAS ON THE FRONT OF THE CAR AND THE OTHER TIRES WHICH ARE NON COOPER TIRES DO NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM. THE TIRES ARE DEFECTIVE AND I WILL NO LONGER BUY COOPER TIRES.

WAS DRIVING ON THE 5 FWY AND HEARD A GRINDING SOUND SO I PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER. MY CAR THEN WOULD NO LONGER DRIVE. A GROUP OF GENTLEMEN HELPED ME PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND WE PUSHED IT OFF THE SHOULDER TO THE GRAVEL. I HAD TO CALL A TOW TO TAKE ME AND MY CAR 92 MILES TO THE HONDA DEALER WHERE I SERVICE MY CAR. I HAVE A STELLAR SERVICE RECORD WITH THE HONDA DEALER AND HAVE ONLY DRIVEN APPROXIMATELY 10,000 MILES PER YEAR. THE DEALER IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM AS A FAILED TRANSMISSION. THIS IS THE SECOND HONDA ACCORD V6 WHERE THE TRANSMISSION FAILED: I HAD A 1998 AND IT FAILED IN 2006 WITH APPROXIMATELY THE SAME MILEAGE AS THE 2007.
WHILE MAKING A TURN ONTO A HIGHWAY, OUR HONDA ACCORD HAD COMPLETE AND CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE FRONT BALL JOINT WITH TOTAL LOSS OF STEERING. FRONT AXLE LITERALLY FELL ONTO THE ROADWAY AND FRONT LEFT TIRE WAS PERPENDICULAR TO THE CAR BODY AND KEPT US FROM BOTTOMING OUT. THANKFULLY NO OTHERS CARS IN IMMEDIATE AREA AND WE WERE NOT HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. WE WERE ALSO DRIVING SLOWLY SO NO INJURIES EVEN THOUGH CAR WAS NOT ABLE TO BE CONTROLLED. CALLED HONDA AMERICA AND THEY SAID THIS IS A UNIQUE PROBLEM AND THAT THIS HAS NEVER BEEN AN ISSUE WITH THEIR CARS. HOWEVER MANY, MANY INSTANCES DOCUMENTED ON HONDA FORUMS ON THE WEB.

I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE FROM A HONDA DEALERSHIP IN THE BEGINNING OF FEBRUARY 2015. THE CAR HAD 2 OR 3 PREVIOUS OWNERS WHO DID AN EXCELLENT JOB OF KEEPING UP WITH THE MAINTENANCE. THE CAR HAD ALSO JUST BEEN INSPECTED IN SEPTEMBER OF THE PREVIOUS YEAR AND PASSED WITH FLYING COLORS. I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF RELOCATING TO THE WEST COAST WITH MY FIANC. FOUR HOURS AWAY FROM OUR FINAL DESTINATION, THE CAR SHUT OFF AND I NOTICED THAT THE ENGINE LIGHT FLASHED ON. I QUICKLY GOT THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BEFORE IT COMPLETELY DIED. MY FIANC AND I HOPPED OUT THE CAR TO CHECK UNDER THE HOOD. BY THIS TIME YOU COULD SMELL THE SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD, BUT A FIRE WAS NOT VISIBLE LOOKING DIRECTLY UNDER THE HOOD. ANOTHER DRIVER, WHO HAPPENED TO BE A FIRE FIGHTER, WHO WAS ON THE SAME HIGHWAY STOPPED AND TOLD US TO BACK AWAY FROM THE CAR BECAUSE THERE WAS A FIRE UNDERNEATH THE CAR. ONCE WE MOVED BACK, WE WERE ABLE TO SEE THE FIRE UNDER THE CAR ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE (IF YOU'RE FACING THE CAR). WE COULD ALSO SEE THAT THE FIRE WAS MELTING SOMETHING. YOU COULD SEE THE SUBSTANCE MELTING TO THE GROUND. THE FIRE FIGHTER CALLED THE POLICE AND INVESTIGATED THE FIRE HIMSELF. HE SAID THAT IT WAS SOME TYPE OF WIRING ISSUE AND THE FIRE DEPT. CONFIRMED THIS AS WELL WHEN THEY FINALLY DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY TO INSPECT THE CAR. HE AGAIN STRESSED THE FACT THAT WE NEEDED TO STAY BACK BECAUSE THE CAR COULD BLOW AT ANY MOMENT, WHICH WAS DEVASTATING NEWS BECAUSE EVERYTHING WE OWNED WAS IN THE CAR. THANKFULLY A POLICE OFFICER ARRIVED AND DIFFUSED THE FIRE. I NOTICED THAT THERE ARE NO OPEN RECALLS FOR THIS VEHICLE, BUT I DID NOTICE THERE WAS AN INVESTIGATION FOR SOME ISSUE THAT COULD CAUSE A FIRE UNDER THE HOOD. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS CAR AND I ONLY HAD IT LONG ENOUGH TO MAKE 1 PAYMENT TO MY FINANCE COMPANY. I JUST WANTED TO BRING THIS TO YOUR ATTENTION TO PREVENT ANY OTHER INCIDENTS. *TR

I PURCHASED/FINANCED A USED- 2007 HONDA ACCORD ON 4/2/2015. OUTSIDE OF AN AIRBAG RECALL NOTICE RECEIVED IN JUNE, THERE WERE 4 CONSECUTIVE ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTIONS THAT OCCURRED AND IS CURRENTLY PENDING - 1) REAR DRIVER-SIDE WINDOW MOTOR SEIZED, 2) BOTH KEYLESS FOBS STOPPED WORKING AND REQUIRES REPROGRAMMING, ACCORDING TO MECHANIC, 3) CD/AUX BUTTON NO LONGER FUNCTIONING, AND 4) REAR DRIVER, PASSENGER, AND FRONT PASSENGER-SIDE WINDOW MOTORS HAVE ALL SEIZED AND NO LONGER FUNCTIONING. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT THE SALESMAN DID NOT DISCLOSE PHYSICAL FRONT BUMPER DAMAGE ON SALE DATE, AND DID NOT OFFER ANY CORRECTIVE ACTION UPON NOTIFICATION. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN DEALERSHIP'S POSSESSION OVER A YEAR - FROM SALE DATE. HOWEVER, THEY (OWNER/SALESMAN) GUARANTEED THE CONDITION OF THE VEHICLE AS ABOVE STANDARD AND RECOMMENDED EXTENDED WARRANTY.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000.

2007 HONDA ACCORD EX-L (IN EXCELLENT CONDITION) WAS PULLED INTO A PARKING SPACE AND STOPPED. WHEN DRIVER TRANSITIONED THE GEARSHIFT FROM DRIVE TO PARK, THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED, JUMPED THE CURB, CROSSED A (SOGGY) GRASSY MEDIAN OF ABOUT 10 FEET, AND CRASHED INTO A SECOND (PARKED) CAR WITH ENOUGH VELOCITY TO PUSH THE SECOND CAR INTO A THIRD (PARKED) CAR. ALL EFFORTS TO STOP THE HONDA IN ITS ACCELERATION WERE UNSUCCESSFUL. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FROM WHICH IT HAD BEEN PURCHASED NEW AND SERVICED REGULARLY. AFTER THREE MONTHS OF HAGGLING, THE DEALERSHIP REPURCHASED THE CAR; HONDA, HOWEVER, REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE ANY PROBLEM WITH THE CAR.
IN MARCH 2015, I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE FROM HONDA (NHTSA RECALL 14V-351) ADVISING ME TO HAVE THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG INFLATOR REPLACED AT MY LOCAL HONDA DEALER AT NO COST. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED HONDA OF DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES TO SCHEDULE A REPLACEMENT OF MY VEHICLE'S INFLATOR. I WAS TOLD BY THEIR SERVICE CENTER THAT THEY WOULD ORDER THE PART AND I WOULD BE CONTACTED WHEN IT ARRIVED. I CALLED BACK TWO WEEKS LATER AS I HAD NOT RECEIVED A CALL AND THEY SAID THEY WERE STILL WAITING ON THE RECALLED PART TO ARRIVE AND ASSURED ME I WOULD GET A CALL. A MONTH LATER I HAD STILL NOT HEARD ANYTHING, SO I CALLED AGAIN AND WAS AGAIN TOLD THAT I WOULD BE CALLED WHEN THE PART ARRIVED. NOT UNTIL JULY 2015 DID I GET TWO NEW SAFETY RECALL NOTICES FROM HONDA (NHTSA RECALL 15V-320 & 15V370). ONE RECALL WAS FOR THE SAME DRIVER SIDE INFLATOR IN ADDITION TO THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG INFLATOR. I CALLED DIAMOND HONDA OF GLENDALE TO SCHEDULE SERVICE, AND WHILE THE REQUIRED PARTS NEEDED TO BE ORDERED, A SERVICE APPOINTMENT WAS MADE FOR ONE WEEK LATER. IN SHORT, I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM HONDA IN MARCH 2015 AND IT TOOK ME CONTACTING TWO DIFFERENT SERVICE CENTERS MULTIPLE TIMES OVER A FOUR MONTH PERIOD TO HAVE THE RECALL APPOINTMENT SCHEDULED. .. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE REVERSING THE VEHICLE, THE BRAKES FAILED TO OPERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO MOISTURE IN THE BRAKE LINE. THE FAILURE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,000.

UNEXPECTED ACCELERATION WITH ENGINE STUCK AT FULL THROTTLE.. CONDITIONS AT THE TIME: SNOW ON ROAD; LARGE SNOW BANKS AT SIDES OF ROAD.. I HAD BACKED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY IN ORDER TO TURN MY CAR AROUND SO AS TO POINT FRONT-OUT.I THEN STARTED TO BACK DOWN THE DRIVEWAY.THE CAR GOT STUCK AGAINST A PILE OF SNOW PART WAY INTO THE DRIVEWAY (WE JUST HAD A SERIES OF LARGE SNOWSTORMS, BUT THE NIGHT WAS CLEAR).I PLACED THE TRANSMISSION IN "'DRIVE"' AND ATTEMPTED TO EXIT THE DRIVEWAY.A WHEEL STATED TO SPIN (I BELIEVE IT WAS THE RIGHT FRONT DRIVEWHEEL), SO I GUNNED THE ENGINE.THE CAR GOT FREE, HEADING TOWARD THE SNOW BANK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD OPPOSITE THE DRIVEWAY.I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS AND ONTO THE BRAKE, APPLYING FORCE ON THE BRAKE.THE ENGINE REMAINED IN FULL THROTTLE DESPITE MY HAVING MOVED MY FOOT OFF THE GAS AND ONTO THE BRAKE AND MY APPLYING FORCE TO THE BRAKE..THE CAR HAD PROPELLED ITSELF INTO THE SNOW BANK ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE ROAD.THE ENGINE REMAINED IN FULL THROTTLE. I COULD FEEL THE PULSATION OF THE ABS SYSTEM ON THE BRAKE PEDAL UNDER MY FOOT AS I CONTINUED TO TRY TO BRAKE.I FINALLY TURNED OFF THE IGNITION. THE ENGINE STOPPED. I PLACED THE TRANSMISSION INTO "PARK".I THEN TURNED THE IGNITION BACK ON AND STARTED THE ENGINE WITH MY FOOT STILL ON THE BRAKE, AND IMMEDIATELY THE ENGINE WAS AGAIN IN FULL THROTTLE, ALTHOUGH IN "PARK"' -- SO THERE WAS NO MOVEMENT OF THE VEHICLE.I TURNED OFF THE IGNITION AGAIN.I TURNED THE IGNITION BACK ON. THIS TIME THE IDLE WAS NORMAL..I WAS ABLE TO BACK THE CAR BACK INTO THE DRIVEWAY. *TR

(NHTSA RECALL 14V-351) BECAUSE OF THIS I CONTACTED THE HONDA DEALER BELLA INTERNATIONAL IN SAN JUAN PR ON OCTOBER 22, 2014. I WAS TOLD THAT THE PART WILL ARRIVE WITHIN A MONTH AND A HALF AND THAT I WOULD BE RECEIVING A CALL TO MAKE THE APPOINTMENT FOR THE REPAIR. THAT NEVER HAPPENED. I CALLED THREE MONTHS AND A WEEK LATER ON JANUARY 28, 2015 AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE THEY WERE UNSURE IF THE PART WAS AVAILABLE UNDER THEIR INVENTORY AT THE PONCE DEALER. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS HONDA AUTOMOBILE DIVISION FAULT AND THAT I NEED TO WAIT AGAIN FOR AN UNKNOWN PERIOD OF TIME. I ASK IF I COULD CALL THE PONCE DEALER AND THEY GAVE ME THE NAME OF A PERSON THAT APPARENTLY HANDLES THEIR PART INVENTORY. THAT WAS IT. IN ADDITION THEY DID NOT OFFER ANY APPOINTMENT AT OTHER DEALER OR TO CHANGE THE PART TO FIX THE PROBLEM. AGAIN I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD BE CONTACTED LATER TO MAKE THE APPOINTMENT NOTHING MORE. I AGAIN STATED THAT THE RECALL PROCESS SHOULD HAVE NOTIFIED ME REGARDING THE AIRBAG PROBLEM. / ON NOVEMBER 12, I TOOK THE CAR TO ANDERSON. A REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME THAT, BASED ON THE VIN, ANDERSON NEEDED TO ORDER A PART AND THAT I COULD RESCHEDULE THE WORK FOR A DAY POSSIBLY AS EARLY AS THE 14TH. I DID NOT HAVE MY CALENDAR WITH ME. I ASKED ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY THE PART WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE.
