On August 6, 2025, I scheduled an appointment at Ball Honda, located at 2135 National City Blvd, National City, CA 91950 (Tel: 619-259-5865), for a recall service on my 2008 Honda Accord, Since I was unable to attend, I sent my son to take the car in, However, the Honda representative refused to perform the service, stating, "The recall was for vehicles purchased new, and they came with a nose mask," without checking the VIN or verifying whether my vehicle was actually affected by the recall.
When cold starting my car it has a very loud rattle. Lately the rattle takes some time to go away.

Very, very common issue on 8th generation AND 9th generation Honda Accords (as well as other Honda models from this era). ABS modules throw solenoid codes (usually consisting of VSA, ABS, traction control, and parking brake lights on the gauge cluster). Sure, the vehicle's ABS may still operate, however this is still a problem and generally not safe. My 2008 Accord EX-L V6 w/ Nav recently had this problem and I have resolved it by swapping over a used part. Honda wants to charge $2500 on average for both the part and labor. What the problem is, is that the circuit board in these modules have been using the wrong gauge of wire according to many mechanics. According to my mechanic, this thing can be triggered with something as simple as an automated car wash. Honda generally makes great, mostly reliable vehicles that are fun to drive. It's a shame that these modules have not been engineered correctly. I hope that the NHTSA can take initiative and force Honda to do a recall on these Aisin modules and fit the cars with better engineered ones. Brakes are an ABSOLUTE NECESSITY in cars and it is IMPERATIVE to have a reliable ABS system. Again, this is a widespread issue and hopefully can be resolved by the NHTSA, working with Honda. Thank you.
I received several letters notifying me of an urgent recall for my Honda vehicle. I’ve attempted to get this issue fixed many times. However, the dealership stated that the repair will take a few hours to repair. Since I work Uber and DoorDash, I requested a loaner vehicle to use while my car is being repaired. They stated that they can’t provide that and If I want to I can rent a vehicle at $45 a day. Also, I will have to pay for my Uber ride from the dealership and back. There should be no reason why I should be responsible for lost wages or any expenses relating to a recall that is entirely out of my control.

Driver side air bag hasn't been replaced but is on recall. No risk yet. Having dealer confirm the problem on 2/18/2023. No warning lights
The contact owns a 2008 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the contact opened the trunk and the door latch exploded causing the metal springs and cables to shoot out into the air. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000. The VIN was not available.
I was turning right on a very busy four lane street and the left front CV-shaft (axle) broke into. Thank goodness I had enough momentum to get off the street. Honda had a rubber damper on the shaft that trapped salt and water, thus rusting and weaken the axle. Hinda had a recall on later model Hondas, but not my year.
I have been told my vehicle is a lemon. I believe the regular maintenance schedule that I have been adhering to should somewhat avoid this issue. I have went to two Honda Dealerships, Ed Napelton and one in Orland Park il. THREE weeks ago I drove and parked came back attempted to start and my Baby would not start. I noticed when i attempted to turn the key the needle would go to the top. I waited a while the car started took her in to wd Napelton, They kept telling me nothing was wrong. They said I could leave because they did not choose to figure out why my vehicle had just not started, so I went to my car to leave and she did not start right their in the parking lot. I went and go my mechanic and he tried to start it wouldn't start, he looked at the dash and said your car is overheating. Im asking why it was just here for a oil change and some other work prior to that. I had file a BBB complaint. The director called ke in for a meeting with the mechanic and from what they are saying because No one has given me anything in writing, I was told to be careful driving and every week My coolant should be topped off. They did say the coolant is leaking into my engine. I got a 3rd opinion and honda ahould have goven me a detailed description of the diagnosis. The sales department is bothering me about buying my car, I told them NO, I need my cat I cant afford another vehicle. My gut is telling me Honda has done thia to my engine thinking I will have to buy another Vehicle. Please Help Me get a proper diagnosis and I need to know how this issue was caused? My last recourse is speaking with ATTORNEY.

Went to get my smog check and the found the problem and he diagnosed the problem as a nose mask.
I am having issues with my transmission. My gears get stuck between 2nd and 3rd gear while driving. It loses power and I have to switch to Neutral and put it back in Drive in order for it to become unstuck. I have taken it to Honda, and they told me it was the computer, and several other things. They replaced $2000 worth of parts and the problem still happens. I took it back to Honda and they told me I needed a new transmission after they took $2000 from me. This initially started approximately 5 months ago when my engine light came on.
I was driving down the highway at 60mph when suddenly the car threw itself in reverse! No one was behind me, but I had to quickly brake and back into the shoulder and put it in “Park”. It has also suddenly shut down without warning while in drive. This has happened several times at different speeds, sometimes at a red light.

My passenger air bag is on. Technician is looking at it but cannot find the problem. It cannot pass vehicle inspection with the light on. Seeking help and or advice on servicing the problem. The Technician thinks it may be the button switch or the computer brain. Are these possibilities? Thank you in advance. Stationed in Europe.
The engine rattles loudly for about 3 seconds on could start-up. The componet that is failing is the VTC ACTUATOR. This problem is casuing the engine light to go on. Also, I found out that the VTC Actuator on honda accord is a common failure. This is not a coincidence, it is a manufacture defect. In addition, it is putting my life in danger while it may cause engine failure. The VTC actuator rattles have been confirmed by independent mechanic.
The contact owns a 2008 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the vehicle was consuming 1-quart of engine oil per 1,000 miles driven. The contact stated that the vehicle was consuming an excessive amount of engine oil. The contact stated that after researching the failure, he became aware that similar vehicles were experiencing the same failure. The vehicle was not repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer had been contacted or notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.
Brakes: ABS system has been feeling funny for some months. Engine: Consistent P3497 Code which has turned into a check light ON.

The car caught on fire near the passenger front wheel, my home security camera, detected motion ( the flames) no modifications were ever done to my car The fire department wasn’t able to determine the cause as 7 minutes passed before they arrived. The surveillance camera picked up motion 40 minutes before the fire when a car drove down my street. Yes it was 13 years old but it was regularly maintained by my mechanic and in excellent condition as I can provide pictures and full footage of the entire incident. If my vehicle had been parked in my garage it could’ve burned down my house !! Fortunately it was parked on the curb in front of my house
I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND 30 MINUTES INTO DRIVING MY WARNING LIGHTS, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS BLINKING, TRIANGLE WITH EXCLAMATION, CAR MISFIRING. I CAN'T DRIVE THE CAR TOO FAR WITHOUT IT MISFIRING. I WAS LEFT STRANDED. THIS IS THE FOURTH TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED WHERE THE CAR HAS LEFT ME STRANDED. I HAVE PAID FOR 3 ALTERNATORS IN 4 YRS BECAUSE OF OIL DRIPPING IN
TRANSMISSION SHIFTS HARD ON ACCELERATION, CAUSING HARD JERKS. WHEN BRAKING RPMS IS STILL HIGH AND ENGINE IS HIGH. IT IS TRULY AN UNSAFE SITUATION. IT SEEMS THE CAR DOESN'T KNOW WHAT GEAR TO BE IN. AND WHEN YOU TURN IT DOES THE SAME.
WILD EMOTION HARD SHIFTING HESITATION AND HIGH RPMS SHIFTS AROUND 456 RPMIT DOESN'T SEEM TO DO THIS WHEN THE CAR IS RUNNING COLD VERSUS AFTER IT'S BEEN ON A TRIP AND ENGINE IS WARMER. ON COLD START THE VEHICLE NOT IN MOTION MAKES A LOUD NOISE NOT SURE HOW TO DESCRIBE IT
THIS 2008 HONDA ACCORD CONSTANTLY MISSES MOSTLY FROM CYLINDER 1 AND SOMETIMES JUST SPITS OIL OUT OF THE TAILPIPE.THE MISSES HAPPEN AT IDLE, AND ALMOST 100% WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PASS MAKING IT EXTREMELY UNSAFE. IT HAS HAD MANY SENSORS REPLACE, ITS TIMING BELT REPLACED, ALL COILS, AND SPARKPLUGS MANY TIMES. THE MECHANIC SAYS THE SPARK PLUGS ARE LASER IRRIDIUM AND SHOULD LAST 100,000 MILES BUT ARE LUCKY TO LAST 10,000 MILES. I AM NOT SURE WHAT DOCUMENTS TO INCLUDE BUT AM JUST GETTING THIS COMPLAINT STARTED. I HAVE THE ACCORD AT THE MECHANIC TODAY BUT IT HAS BEEN MULTIPLE REPAIRS PRIOR TO THIS.

MY HUSBAND AND I WERE ON A TRIP AND I DIDN'T REALIZE IT, BUT PEOPLE KEPT FLASHING US AND I DID NOT HAVE MY LIGHTS ON. WHEN WE PULLED OVER, MY HUSBAND COULD NOT GET OUT OF HIS SIDE OF THE DOOR. IT WOULD NOT OPEN. WE WERE ON THE FREEWAY, ON A COLD RAINY DAY AND VISIBILITY WAS BAD, AND NOT BEING ABLE TO HAVE LIGHTS, OR DEFROSTER WORK PROPERLY PUT US IN A HAZARDOUS POSITION. LATER I FOUND OUT AS I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC WAS THAT OUR FUSE BOX WAS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY, AND THE LIGHTS ON THE RIGHT SIDE ONLY AND THE DOOR AND THE DEFROSTER WERE NOT WORKING. IT COST ME $951.09 TO GET THIS REPAIRED ON MY 2008 HONDA ACCORD. I THINK WHEN PEOPLE GET IN A CAR, AND DRIVE IT ESPECIALLY IN HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS, EVERYTHING SHOULD WORK PROPERLY. I DID SEE ON SEVERAL SITES THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS, BUT I NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER, OR WAS CONTACTED BY MY DEALER. I WOULD LIKE TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THE $951.09 OH, AND I ALSO WOULD LIKE OTHER HONDA OWNERS TO BE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM. IT COULD POSSIBLY PREVENT AN ACCIDENT, SOMEONE IN DIRE SITUATION THAT AFFECTS THEIR SAFETY. THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN ON A RAINY DAY, AND THE DEFROSTER COULD NOT CLEAR THE WINDOWS, WE COULD NOT PUT THE HEATER ON, COULD NOT ROLL THE WINDOW DOWN, COULD NOT GET OUT OF THE CAR BECAUSE THE LOCK WOULD NOT COME UP. REGARDS, AMY LOWERY
CAR LIGHTS FLICKER ON AND OFF WHILE CAR IS IN MOTION. AT STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN, CAR WILL JUST SHUT OFF, REQUIREING THE DRIVER TO PUT IT IN PARK AND RESTART THE ENGINE.
OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE AND GRINDING FROM TIMING CHAIN AT COLD STARTS. WILL BECOME A MAJOR ISSUE SO WHY NO RECALL? DRIVER SEAT MOTOR IS DEAD
MY VEHICLE WENT IN FOR AIRBAG RECALL REPAIR IN AUGUST AT BAY RIDGE HONDA IN BROOKLYN NEW YORK AND WHEN I GOT IT BACK A AIRBAG LIGHT STARTED SHOWING ON MY DASHBOARD I TRIED CALLING THE DEALERSHIP AND GOT BRUSHED AWAY AND THEY KEPT HANGING UP ON ME SO I HAVE A APPOINTMENT TO GO BACK IN ON DECEMBER 16 BUT THEY KEEP TELLING ME TO PAY 150 DOLLARS TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM MY MECHANIC CHECKED IT FOR ME AND SAID IT WAS FOR THE PASSENGER AIR BAG THAT THEY CHANGED PLUS THE DRIVER SIDE ONE THAT I NEVER HAD ISSUES WITH SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR. NEVER BEEN IN A ACCIDENT EITHER.
