AFTER NOTICING A SQUEALING SOUND COMING FROM MY REAR TIRES, I WENT TO MY MECHANIC TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT AND WAS TOLD I NEEDED NEW REAR BRAKES. MY 2008 HONDA ACCORD ONLY HAD 37,000 MILES ON IT AND I HAD TO REPLACE THE REAR BRAKES PADS FOR A TOTAL OF $140 OUT OF MY POCKET! *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND SAW THAT THE ENGINE WAS ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE; A REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT STATED THAT THE FIRE STARTED BECAUSE OF THE ELECTRICAL FUEL IGNITION IN THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO TOOK A COMPLAINT AND STATED THAT A REPRESENTATIVE WOULD BE SENT OUT TO INVESTIGATE FURTHER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 34,000.
LIGHTS DIM ALL THE TIME DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. HONDA SAYS NO FIX. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON I70 FROM DENVER TO LEADVILLE. ON A DOWNHILL SITUATION I HIT BRAKES AND THE STEERING STARTED SHAKING CAUSING ME TO PANIC. I NEARLY LOST CONTROL AND DROVE OVER THE EDGE OF THE MOUNTAIN. TOOK THE CAR TO HONDA AND THEY SAID THEY WERE ABLE TO RECREATE IT. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE ROTORS WOULD GET TOO HOT AND WARP, CAUSING THE STEERING TO SHAKE. THEY WANTED ME TO PAY THEM $400 TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I DON'T HAVE THAT MONEY TO DO SO. *TR
REAR BRAKES ON 2008 HONDA ACCORD ARE GETTING STUCK. I HAVE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND AM FORCE TO LEAVE THE CAR IN GEAR WHEN I SHUT IT OFF BECAUSE THE PARK BRAKES GET STUCK EVERYTIME I USE THEM. WHEN I WENT TO THE DEALER AND I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS BECAUSE IT NEEDED BRAKE AND ROTORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I HAD THE REPAIR DONE AND THE NEXT DAY THE SAME THING HAPPENED. WHICH CONFIRMED WHAT I THOUGHT ORIGINALLY THAT IT WAS THE EMERGENCY BRAKES. *TR
BRAKE PAD REPLACEMENT AND ROTARS RESURFACED AT 24K MILES. *TR
I WAS BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVE WAY WHEN I PRESSED THE BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN AND THE BRAKES "GRIND'. THE FOLLOWING WEEK I TOOK MY 2008 HONDA ACCORD TO THE DEALER AND I WAS TOLD THE BRAKES "PREMATURELY WEAR OUT" I ASKED ABOUT A RECALL AND I WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS A CLASS ACTION SUIT SO HONDA CAN NOT DO A RECALL. I BOUGHT MY CAR PREOWNED FROM CARMAX IN DECEMBER 2009. *TR
I HAVE HAD 5 DOOR ACTUATORS CHANGED ON MY CAR - ALL DOORS AND ONE DOOR WAS TWICE. I HAVE A 6TH ONE OUT BUT I HAVE NOT GOTTEN IT FIXED. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT "SOMETIMES THINGS HAPPEN". I TRIED TO TALK WITH HONDA, THEY DID PAY FOR MOST OF THEM REPAIRS BUT REFUSED TO ADMIT IT WAS A PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP NEVER COULD TELL ME WHY IT WAS HAPPENING, JUST KEPT REPLACING THE ACTUATORS. I GOT TIRED OF FIGHTING WITH THEM, THAT IS WHY THE LAST ONE HAS NOT BEEN REPLACED. THIS IS MY FIRST AND LAST HONDA. I WAS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH MY SERVICE FROM HONDA. WE BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW OFF THE LOT AND IT STARTED WITHIN A YEAR AND A HALF OF PURCHASE. *TR
I HAVE A 2008 HONDA ACCORD COUPE. ON 11/28/2010, WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, I HEARD A LOUD SCREECHING SOUND COMING FROM THE REAR TIRES, AS I APPLIED THE BRAKES IT FELT LIKE THE VEHICLE WAS HITTING BOTTOM, I TOOK THE VEHICLE FOR SERVICE ON 12/01/2010, AND WAS ADVISED I NEEDED NEW BRAKE PADS. THE VEHICLE HAS 24,046 MILES. FOR THE PAST THREE (3) YEARS I HAVE TAKEN THIS VEHICLE FOR SERVICE TO THE SAME HONDA DEALER, THEY NEVER WARNED ME THAT THE REAR BRAKES WOULD REQUIRE SUCH FREQUENT REPAIRS. I WAS VERY UPSET TO HAVE TO PAID $250.00 FOR REPAIRS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA ACCORD COUPE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WHEEL RIM ON THE VEHICLE WHICH WAS MANUFACTURED BY HONDA WAS DEFECTIVE. THE MANUFACTURER USES A CLEAR COAT ON THEIR WHEEL RIMS WHICH CAUSES WATER TO ENTER UNDERNEATH, WHICH HAS CAUSED CORROSION. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY THE DEALER AND COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE, BUT CLAIMS THAT THE CONTACT APPLIED CHROME CLEANER TO THE WHEEL RIM WHICH MAY HAVE CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. HE THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A TIRE COMPANY TO INSPECT THE WHEEL RIM AND THEY INFORMED HIM THAT THEY WERE DEFECTIVE AND SHOULD BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED FOR THE WHEEL RIMS. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 6,350. UPDATED 3/8/11 *CN THE CONSUMER STATED NO CLEANERS OR CHEMICALS HAVE BEEN USED ON THE RIMS. THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THERE WAS A DEFECT WITH THE RIMS. UPDATED 08/08/11
I HAVE EXPERIENCED PREMATURE WEAR OF THE REAR BRAKES ON MY 2008 HONDA ACCORD. I HAD TO HAVE THEM REPLACED BY A DEALERSHIP IN HARVEY, LOUISIANA IN NOVEMBER 2010 AND IT COST $170.37. APPARENTLY THERE SHOULD BE SOME MONEY AVAILABLE TO MY AS THE RESULT OF A SETTLEMENT. *TR
2008 HONDA ACCORD EX-L REAR BRAKES WORN OUT AT 18,500 MILES. I UNDERSTAND I CAN RECEIVE A PARTIAL REFUND THROUGH A CLASS ACTION SUIT FILING. I DID SEND OFF THE RECEIPT AND COMPLETED THE REQUIRED FORM, BUT HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING YET. DEFINITELY HAVE NOT RECEIEVED THE $150 PROMISED ! DEALER WAS AWARE OF THE SETTLEMENT OFFER AND SAID THESE NEW IMPROVED BRAKES SHOULD LAST MUCH LONGER.......... *TR
ABOVE START DATE AND MILEAGE ARE ESTIMATES AS THIS SEEMS TO HAVE ALWAYS BEEN AN ISSUE. THE ENGINE SPUTTERS WHEN ACCELERATING THROUGH THE FIRST FEW GEARS. THIS IS NOTICEABLE AROUND THE 20-35 MILE PER HOUR RANGE, BUT MAY OCCUR BEFORE OR AFTER THAT SPEED. IT SEEMS DANGEROUS IF ACCELERATION IS NEEDED WHEN THE CAR WILL NOT RESPOND. I HAVE LOOKED UP HONDA SERVICE BULLETINS AND IT SEEMS THERE A RE A FEW THAT "MIGHT" FIT THE ISSUE. ONE IS RELATED TO AN OIL "LEAK" ANOTHER TO OIL "CONSUMPTION" AS WELL AS ONE RELATED TO ENGINE "LOW POWER". I BELIEVE THE OIL ISSUE EXISTS REGARDLESS AS I AM CHECKING IT NOW AND DISCOVERED IT IS ALWAYS LOW. THERE ARE A COUPLE OF OTHERS THAT MAY OR MAY NOT APPLY AS IT IS HARD TO DETERMINE THE EXACT PROBLEM AND SERVICE BULLETIN. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER FOR THIS ISSUE ONLY FOR THE DEALER TO NOT BE ABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OR IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM WHILE AT THE SHOP. EARLY ON WHILE UNDER WARRANTY THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT BACK TO THE DEALER FOR THIS ISSUE AND SOME SPARK PLUGS WERE REPLACED. IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY THEY SAID THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE SPARK PLUGS. THE ISSUE HAS ALWAYS REMAINED EVEN AFTER THE REPLACEMENT OF SOME SPARK PLUGS. THEY MAY NOT HAVE REPLACED ALL OF THEM AND THUS THE ISSUE AT HAND? I WILL HAVE TO ASK THE DEALER FOR A SERVICE HISTORY IF THEY HAVE IT SINCE I MAY NOT HAVE ALL THE RECORDS. THE CAR WILL GO BACK AGAIN FOR THIS ISSUE AFTER WRITING THIS. I'M HOPING FOR A POSITIVE OUTCOME WHERE IT WILL NOT COST ME A FORTUNE AS THE CAR IS NOW OUT OF WARRANTY BUT WAS BROUGHT IN FOR THIS WHILE IT WAS COVERED. *TR
2008 HONDA ACCORD. CONSUMER WRITES REGARDING AIRBAG NOT DEPLOYING DURING ACCIDENT *TGW THE CONSUMER WAS HIT ON THE LEFT SIDE BY A SMALL TRUCK. THE DRIVER OF THE TRUCK WAS TRAVELING TWICE THE SPEED LIMIT. *JB THE CONSUMER STATED THE BRAKES ON HIS VEHICLE WERE DEFECTIVE. AN ENGINEER SUGGESTED THAT THE FRONT AND REAR BRAKES BE REPLACED. BUT, WHEN THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, THE ROTORS WERE CUT DOWN, WHICH HAD ALREADY BEEN DONE TWICE IN THE PAST. AND THE FRONT WAS CUT DOWN ONCE. THE CONSUMER STATED THE ROTORS ARE EXTREMELY THIN NOW. *JB THE CONSUMER STATED AT 5,000 MILES, THE BRAKES BEGAN TO GRIND AND RUMBLE WITH A LOSS OF BRAKING ABILITY. UPDATED 01/14/11. *JB
2008 HONDA ACCORD. CONSUMER STATES PROBLEMS WITH BRAKES *TGW THE CONSUMER WAS NOTIFIED BY THE HONDA REAR BRAKE REPLACEMENT SETTLEMENT ADMINISTRATOR THAT A CLASS ACTION RELATING TO PREMATURE REAR PAD WEAR IN VARIOUS HONDA MODELS HAD BEEN SETTLED. HE WAS GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS ABOUT HOW TO HAVE THE PROBLEM RECTIFIED. THE REPAIRS WERE MADE. HOWEVER, THE WEAR HAD CAUSED DAMAGE TO BOTH ROTORS WHICH HAD TO BE RESURFACED AT A COST OF $90.00. THE CONSUMER SENT A LETTER TO CORPORATE REQUESTING REIMBURSEMENT FOR HIS EXPENSE, BUT TO DATE, HE HAS NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE. *JB
VEHICLE REQUIRED REAR BRAKES REPLACED 3 TIMES BEFORE 32,000 MILES AND 30 MONTHS. BRAKES HAVE NEVER LASTED THE YEAR BETWEEN REQUIRED INSPECTION. FIRST SET REPLACED AT ABOUT 12K, SECOND SET ABOUT 20K, THIRD SET AT ABOUT 31K. *TR
1. NO EVENT CAUSED FAILURE. BELIEVE IT IS JUST A FAILURE IN EQUIPMENT/MATERIAL 2. 2008 HONDA ACCORD IS BURNING AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF OIL. ONE QUART EVERY THOUSAND MILES. SEVERAL OIL CHANGES HAVE HAD ALMOST NO OIL IN THE ENGINE BECAUSE THE PROBLEM WAS UNKNOWN. THE PROBLEM IS CONSTANT AND MAY BE DEFECTIVE OIL RINGS OR SOMETHING WORSE. 3. WHAT WAS SUGGESTED BY HONDA WAS REBUILDING THE ENGINE. *TR
MY 2008 HONDA ACCORD STARTED MAKING A LOUD NOISE AFTER 13,700 MILES AND SPECIALLY WHEN THE CAR WAS PUT IN REVERSE. THE HONDA DEALER DETERMINED THAT THE REAR BRAKES WERE WORN-OUT. BY THE WAY MOST OF THE MILEAGE IS HIGHWAY DRIVING. *TR
BEGAN NOTICING A GRATING SOUND TO THE REAR OF THE CAR WHEN BRAKING. THE CAR IS A 2008 HONDA ACCORD WITH ONLY 29K MILES AT THE TIME THE PROBLEM WAS FIRST NOTICED. *TR
PREMATURE BRAKE WEAR ON MY 2008 HONDA ACCORD. WHERE DO I BEGIN? PURCHASED THE CAR IN JUNE OF 2008, A FEW MONTHS LATER I REPLACED MY FIRST SET OF REAR BRAKE PADS AT 30K MILES. FIRST INDICATION OF BRAKES STARTING TO FADE WAS METAL ON METAL CONTACT NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR. I FOUND THIS VERY ODD AND DECIDED TO TAKE THE CAR INTO THE DEALER. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT "BRAKE DISTRIBUTION WAS CHANGED FROM A FRONT BIAS TO MORE REAR BIAS AND THIS IS NOT UNCOMMON.". I WAS ALSO TOLD THIS WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. I PAID $200 FOR THE PADS AND SERVICE ALTOGETHER...AND THEY SAID MY ROTORS NEEDED TO BE RESURFACED AS WELL....WHICH I WASN'T WILLING TO DO AT 30K MILES. FLASH FORWARD TO OCTOBER 2010. I'M HEARING THE METAL ON METAL GRINDING FROM THE REAR OF THE CAR AGAIN. THIS WILL BE MY 3RD SET OF REAR BRAKE PADS IN 80K MILES. ANOTHER THING TO NOTE. THE CAR WAS VIBRATING VERY SERIOUSLY UPON BRAKING BEFORE I FINALLY REPLACED THE ROTORS. WHICH I DID AROUND THE 50-60K MILE MARK. MY EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THIS CAR HAS BEEN ALL BUT USELESS. IF IT DOESN'T FIX A PROBLEM AS OBVIOUS AS THIS.....WHAT EXACTLY DOES IT FIX? *TR

I PURCHASE A BRAND NEW 2008 HONDA ACCORD. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASE IN DECEMBER 2008. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASE AT PARAGON HONDA IN QUEENS, NEW YORK. WHEN THE VEHICLE HAD APPROXIMATELY 9000 MILES I HAD TO REPLACED FIRST THE REAR BRAKES AT TIME OF INSPECTION, SIX MONTHS LATER THE FRONT BRAKES WERE DOWN TO THE METAL. I COMPLAINT TO BROOKLYN HONDA I WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAD NO OTHER CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS. TODAY IS THE 24TH DAY OF OCTOBER 2011, THE SENSOR ON THE REAR BRAKES IS GIVING THE WARNING. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 18000 MILES. NO THOUGHT THAT HONDA MADE A MISTAKE ON THE 2008 ACCORD BRAKES, THEY DO NOT WANT TO ACCEPT THE BLAME. *TR
GRINDING SOUND WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. SOUND ALSO CORRELATES WITH FOOT TOUCHING BRAKE. SOUND WAS COMING FROM THE REAR BRAKE AREA. NEVER HAD BRAKE PROBLEMS FROM A CAR WITH THIS FEW MILES WITH MUCH OF THEM BEING HIGHWAY. *TR
I HAVE A 2008 HONDA ACCORD SEDAN EX-L V6 AND THE REAR BRAKE PADS ARE WEARING VERY PREMATURELY. I'M BEING TOLD THAT THEY NEED TO BE REPLACED IMMEDIATELY, AND MY MILEAGE IS ONLY 30K. MY BRAKING ABILITY HAS DRASTICALLY REDUCED AND I FEEL THE CAR HAVING TROUBLE WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKES. THE ACCORD IS A FRONT WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE AND THE REAR BRAKE PADS SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM THIS EARLY IN THE VEHICLE'S LIFE. MY RESEARCH HAS SHOWN THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH ALL 8TH GENERATION HONDA ACCORDS. HONDA DOES NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM SO THIS MONEY COMES OUT OF MY OWN POCKET UNLESS I SUE OR JOIN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT, WHICH IS PREFER NOT TO DO. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND HONDA NEEDS TO WORK WITH THE ACCORD OWNERS TO RECTIFY THIS ISSUE. *TR
EVER SINCE I PURCHASED MY 2008 ACCORD, I HAD NOTICED A 'SQUEALING' SOUND UPON ACCELERATION, THAT SEEMED TO BE COMING FROM THE REAR WHEELS. IT WAS FAINT AT FIRST, AND WOULD COME AND GO, SO I DIDN'T THINK ANYTHING OF IT, ESPECIALLY SINCE MY VEHICLE WAS NEW. VISUALLY, THOUGH, I THOUGHT MY REAR WHEELS HAD A 'RUSTY' APPEARANCE ON THE INSIDE OF THE WHEEL WELL. AS TIME WENT ON, THE NOISE BECAME MORE CONSISTENT, AND WAS AUDIBLE DURING DECELERATION, TOO. NOT TO MENTION, I BEGAN TO HEAR A 'GRINDING' SOUND. I TOOK MY VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER, WITH THE ASSUMPTION THAT WHATEVER THE CAUSE, MY EXTENDED WARRANTY WOULD BE USEFUL, IF THERE WERE ANY NEEDED REPAIRS. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT I HAD WORN DOWN THE BRAKE PADS SO BADLY THAT THE PADS, ROTORS, AND CALIPERS NEEDED REPLACEMENT. IN ADDITION, THE MASTER CYLINDER AND PISTON WERE DAMAGED (DUE TO THE BRAKE SITUATION), SO THAT NEEDED REPLACEMENT TOO. I ASKED WHY THE BRAKES WOULD EVEN NEED REPLACEMENT AT SUCH A LOW MILEAGE, IN THE FIRST PLACE, ESPECIALLY SINCE ALMOST ALL OF MY MILES ARE HIGHWAY MILES, AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS VERY COMMON, AND SINCE I WAS 'NEGLIGENT' THE COST WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY, AND, THEREFORE, I WOULD BE CHARGED $1,667.00 FOR THE REPAIRS. MY VEHICLE IS IN THEIR SHOP RIGHT NOW, AS OF COURSE, THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX IT, AND THE VEHICLE "IS TOO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE." MAYBE I SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE PROACTIVE AND WENT WITH MY GUT WHEN I THOUGHT THE 'SQUEALING' SOUND WAS STRANGE, BUT I JUST FIGURED A BRAND NEW CAR WOULDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS. UNFORTUNATELY FOR ME, I WAS COMPLETELY WRONG! *TR
NOISE FROM REAR OF CAR. GOT CONTENTIOUSLY WORSE. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP, WHO SAID BRAKE ROTORS AND PADS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. CAR ONLY HAS 28,000 MILES ON IT, AND BRAKES WERE INTENDED TO LAST 70,000. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AS SOON AS THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED IT EXHIBITED A LOUD, RATTLING NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE VTC ACTUATOR WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 47,000.

I HAVE A HONDA ACCORD LX 2008 SEDAN WHICH I BOUGHT 2 YEARS AGO. EVER SINCE I BOUGHT THIS EACH YEAR WITHOUT FAIL I HAVE EXPERIENCED INTERMITTENT LACK OF POWER DURING ACCELERATION WHICH HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, EACH TIME IT HAS LASTED ANY WHERE FROM 20 TO 45MINS ,THERE NO ENGINE CHECK LIGHT ON OR ANY INDICATION LIGHT OF A MALFUNCTION. I REPORTED TO THE DEALERSHIP LEFT THE CAR WITH THEM OVER NIGHT I WAS TOLD THAT THEY RAN THE AUTOMATED COMPUTER TEST AND NOTHING WAS FOUND TO BE WRONG WITH THE CAR , THE SECOND TIME IT OCCURRED I CALLED HONDA USA AND REPORTED THE SAME INCIDENT , I WAS CONTACTED BY HONDA TOLD TO TAKE TO A DEALERSHIP , I LEFT THE CAR OVER A WEEK AND WAS TOLD THE AUTOMATED TEST SHOWED NOTHING AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM . AND THAT THEY WILL HAVE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, AS PER HONDA REQUEST I LEFT THE CAR AND I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO, EVEN THOUGH THE PROBLEM HAD PERSISTED AND HAS BEING RECURRING I WAS TOLD TO BRING IT IN WHEN IT OCCURS AGAIN BUT ITS HAD HAPPENED THREE TIMES ALREADY I HAVE A. MY FRUSTRATION STEMS FROM THE FACT THAT HONDA USA CLAIMS THAT MY CAR HAS AN UP DATED SOFT WARE AND EVEN THE OVER RIDE COULD NOT BE POSSIBLE , BUT THE PROBLEM DETAILED IN THE HONDA BULLETIN MEMO DESCRIBES WHAT'S HAPPENING TO MY CAR. THE BULLETIN STATES THUS : SOME 2008 ACCORD L4 VEHICLES MAY EXPERIENCE AN INTERMITTENT LACK OF POWER DUE TO INTERFERENCE OR NOISE ON THE KNOCK SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT .INTERFERENCE OR NOISE ON THE CIRCUIT CAN CAUSE THE PCM TO RETARD THE IGNITION TIMING , CAUSING A DECREASE IN ENGINE POWER USUALLY DURING ACCELERATION. *TR

WE CALLED HONDA TO GET A COST ESTIMATE ABOUT THE REPAIR AND THAT'S WHEN THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP INFORMED US ABOUT A PENDING OR COMPLETED CLASS-ACTION LAW SUIT AGAINST HONDA CORP. WE WERE ASKED NOT TO SAY ANYTHING, AS THE REP DIRECTED US TO GET THE REPAIRS DONE AND KEEP OUR RECEIPT(S) FOR POSSIBLE REDEMPTION AT A LATER DATE. HONDA ACCORD, 2008, REAR BRAKE SYSTEM DEFECTIVE. HONDA HAS KNOWLEDGE OF ISSUE. REAR BREAKS ON 2008-2009 ACCORDS WEAR OUR BEFORE 25K MILES. REAR BREAKS REPLACED AT 27K MILE AND NOW NEEDED AGAIN AT 55K MILES. HONDA IS AWARE OF ISSUE WITH THERE BREAKING SYSTEM AND WILL NOT RECALL THEIR VEHICLES. THEY ARE PAYING FOR 1 TIME BREAKS AS PART OF THEIR CLASS ACTION SUIT, BUT WILL NOT FIX THE ROOT CAUSE OF THE ISSUE. AFTER THE BRAKES ARE REPLACED 1 TIME ITS UP TO THE CAR OWNER TO KEEP PAYING FOR AND REPLACING THEIR BRAKES EVERY 15-25K MILES. THIS NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ISSUE AND FIXED PROPERLY, NO MATTER WHAT THE COST TO HONDA. REAR BRAKES CANNOT GO BAD THIS QUICKLY. WE LEASED A NEW 2008 HONDA ACCORD AND AFTER A FEW WEEKS NOTICED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS FLICKERED. THIS WAS VERY ANNOYING AND WHEN WE ASKED THE LOCAL HONDA DEALER ABOUT IT THEY GAVE US A DOCUMENT THAT STATES THAT IT'S NORMAL. WE DIDN'T LIKE THAT ANSWER BUT THERE WASN'T ANYTHING THAT WE COULD DO. 2 YEARS LATER AND STILL CONSTANTLY HAVING THE HEADLIGHTS FLICKER AT NIGHT MY WIFE DROVE THE CAR AT NIGHT AND THE LIGHTS WENT OUT FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 SECONDS. WE CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THEY TOOK A LOOK AT IT AND SAID THEY DIDN'T NOTICE ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE NORMAL FLICKER. NOW MY WIFE WON'T DRIVE THE CAR AT NIGHT THINKING THIS IS GONG TO HAPPEN AGAIN AND THE DEALER WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE CONTACT ENGAGED THE BRAKES BUT THERE WAS NO RESPONSE. HE THEN ATTEMPTED TO REENGAGE THE BRAKES AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO DECELERATE. THE FAILURE WOULD OCCUR SPORADICALLY OVER A PERIOD OF EIGHT MONTHS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER YET THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE DEALER THEN REVIEWED THE VEHICLE COMPUTER SYSTEM AND WAS ABLE TO LOCATE THE FAILURE BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,600 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 39,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I OWN A 2008 HONDA ACCORD AND RECENTLY I CLOSED THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AND THE SIDE IMPACT AIR BAGS WENT OFF. I TOOK MY CAR TO GOODSON HONDA WEST SERVICE DEPARTMENT (HOUSTON TX) AND THEY SAID THAT IT WAS NOT A WARRANTY ISSUES AND THAT I HAD DAMAGE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY UNDERCARRIAGE. I ASKED THEM WHY DAMAGE UNDER THE CAR ON THE RIGHT SIDE WOULD HAVE CAUSED THE AIR BAG ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE CAR TO GO OFF, THEY DIDN'T HAVE AN EXPLANATION. THEY TOLD ME TO FILE WITH MY INSURANCE. THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT AND THE ENTIRE HEAD LINER PLUS ALL OF THE AIR BAGS TOTALING 3,600.00 I CALLED MY INSURANCE AND THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD COVER IT BUT THAT I HAD A $1,250.00 DEDUCTIBLE (TWO TEENAGE DRIVERS). I WAS TOLD THAT I SHOULD TAKE MY CAR TO THE GOODSON BODY SHOP BECAUSE THEY WOULD BE DOING THE WORK. WHEN I TOOK MY CAR THERE THEY LOOKED IT OVER AGAIN AND I ASKED THE QUESTION WHY WOULD THE SIDE AIR BAG GO OFF WHEN I CLOSE THE DOOR. THEY COULDN'T EXPLAIN IT EITHER AND THEY QUESTIONED WHETHER THE DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT UNDERCARRIAGE CAUSED THE AIR BAGS TO GO OFF. THEY ASKED THE SERVICE FOLKS AND A HONDA REP TO COME OUT AND MEET AND AGAIN HONDA DENIED THE CLAIM AS WARRANTY. BOTH REAR DOORS ON MY 2008 HONDA ACCORD HAVE DEFECTIVE DOO HANDLES ON THE INSIDE. I CAN ONLY OPEN THE DOORS FROM THE OUTSIDE. THE FIRST ONE QUIT WORKING AROUND MID AUGUST 2010, AND THE OTHER ABOUT THREE WEEKS AFTER THAT. THAT THE UNREASONABLE WEAR WAS DUE TO A DEFECTIVE DESIGN THAT CAUSED "EXCESSIVE FORCE TO BE APPLIED TO THE VEHICLE'S WHEELS". HE ALSO TOLD ME THAT THE BRAKES ON THE 08 HONDA ACCORD WERE WEARING OUT MORE THAN TWICE AS FAST AS THEY SHOULD! HONDA DEALER PULLED WHEELS TO INSPECT BRAKES AND FOUND NO PROBLEMS. DEALER WOULD WRITE DOWN ON INVOICE IF BRAKES WERE MARGINAL AND INFORM CUSTOMER.
