2008 HONDA ACCORD COUPE HAS COMPLETELY WORN REAR BRAKE PADS AT 26K MILES. I STRONGLY FEEL THAT HONDA SHOULD RECALL AND REPLACE AT NO COST TO OWNER,. I STRONGLY DISAGREE THAT A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IS JUST AND FAIR TO THE OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES AND DOES NOT ADEQUATELY COMPENSATE THE VEHICLE OWNERS BUT MERELY UNJUSTLY ENRICHES A LAWFIRM. ACTION BY THE NHSTA IS MANDATED HERE TO PROTECT THE CONSUMER FROM PREMATURE BRAKE FAILURE AND UNDUE ECONOMIC LOSS. *TR
I PURCHASED A 2008 HONDA ACCORD AND THE LIGHTS CONTINUOUSLY FLICKER WHENEVER I USE THE AC OR HEATING. THE FLICKERING IS SO PREVALENT THAT I'M AFRAID THAT OTHERS DRIVERS MAY THINK I'M FLASHING MY LIGHTS AT THEM. THIS IS A PHYSICAL SAFETY ISSUE AS I'M AFRAID OF ROAD RAGE AS WELL AS THE FEAR THAT THE CAR WILL ULTIMATELY STOP FUNCTIONING DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF POWER THAT APPEARS TO BE BEING USED WHEN THE FLICKERING HAPPENS. *TR
PREMATURE BRAKE WEAR ON 2008 HONDA ACCORD. BROUGHT MY CAR (34,000 MILES) TO MY MECHANIC FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND TIRE ROTATION AND WAS TOLD MY REAR BRAKES WERE DOWN TO MEDAL. SCRAPPING METAL SOUND IN REAR OF CAR. HAD TO HAVE REAR BRAKE PADS REPLACED. WAS INFORMED AROUND 26K MILES THAT THE BRAKES WERE LESS THAN 25% AND HAD TO REPLACE THEM 5K MILES LATER. *TR
REAR BRAKES GOING OUT AT 22,800 MILES ON 2008 HONDA ACCORD. *TR
AT 27894 MILES, MY 2008 HONDA ACCORD EX-L'S REAR BRAKES WERE "COMPLETELY GONE" ACCORDING TO SERVICE TECH'S. I WAS ADVISED THAT IT WAS NOT SAFE FOR ME DRIVE ONE MORE WEEK WITH THE BRAKES IN THIS CONDITION. *TR
MY HONDA REAR BRAKE PADS WERE PREMATURELY WORN OUT . IN LAST 2 AND A HALF YEAR I HAD LESS THAN 29,000 MILES ON THE CAR. HOWEVER REAR BRAKE PADS WERE WORN OUT AND I COULD HEAR HUGE GRINDING NOISE FROM THE BACK . I WENT TO THE HONDA DEALER AND HAVE THEM REPLACE THE BRAKE PADS. HOWEVER, IT COST ME $218.15 USD AND LOT OF AGONY AND ISSUES WHILE DRIVING CAR. *TR
IMPROPER BRAKING SYSTEM IN 2008 HONDA ACCORD LED TO THE REAR BRAKE PADS FAILING PREMATURELY AT 32,000 ON A MAINLY HIGHWAY MILES DRIVEN CAR. THE REAR BRAKE PADS WERE REPLACED AT OWNER'S EXPENSE AND 70% REMAINED ON FRONT PADS. EXPERIENCED SHAKING WHEN STOPPING AT APPROXIMATELY 33,000 MILES AND WAS TOLD THAT THE FRONT AND REAR ROTORS NEEDED TO BE TURNED. IT APPEARS THAT SOMETHING IS FAULTY WITH THE BRAKING SYSTEM AND THE DEALERSHIP AND HONDA IS TRYING TO PLACE BLAME ON THE CONSUMER BUT MOST CARS DON'T NEED THESE THINGS REPLACED AND THE SEQUENCE THAT THINGS ARE FAILING IS POINTING TO A MAJOR DEFECT. YOU CAN REPLACE ALL DAY, BUT NO ONE IS REVEALING OR FIXING THE REAL PROBLEM. *TR

I HAVE ONLY 23,000 MILES ON MY CAR AND THE REAR BRAKES ARE FAILING ON MY 2008 HONDA ACCORD. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH HE HEARD A LOUD GRINDING NOISE NEAR THE RIGHT REAR BRAKES WHEN THEY WERE ENGAGED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE DRIVING TO HIS RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO REPLACED BOTH REAR ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,760 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 16,810.
I BOUGHT A USED 08 HONDA ACCORD ABOUT A WEEK AGO. I STOPPED AT TARGET SHOPPING CENTER TO GET A FEW THINGS. I PARKED THE CAR WAS STILL RUNNING, IN PARK, WHEN MY PASSENGER EXITED SHUT THE PASSENGER DOOR AND BOOM THE SIDE CURTAIN AND PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAGS DEPLOYED.. UNBELIEVABLE. *TR
HELLO, I HAVE A 2008 ACCORD LX, THIS IS THE 4TH ACCORD I HAVE OWNED. MY CONCERN IS WITH THE REAR BRAKES. I AM ON MY 3RD SET OF REAR BRAKE PADS AND THE CAR HAS 37,385 MI ON IT. THE FRONT ONES HAVE NOT BEEN CHANGED YET AND THEY ARE THE PRIMARY PADS TO STOP WITH. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AT 19000 MI AND AFTER A LONG DEBATE THEY REPLACED THE BACK PADS AT NO CHARGE.I JUST REPLACED THEM FOR A 2ND TIME AT 37,000 MI. I NOTICED THAT THE PISTON ON THE REAR CALIPER SCREWS OUT WHEN ITS USED FOR BRAKING. EVERY OTHER CALIPER I HAVE WORKED WITH WHEN YOU PUSH ON THE BRAKES THE PISTON PUSHES ON THE ROTOR THEN RELEASES. THE PISTON ON THIS ACCORD SCREWS OUT BUT DOES NOT SCREW BACK IN CAUSING THE BRAKES PAD TO HAVE GREAT CONSTANT PRESURE ON THE ROTOR. I AS THE DEALER ABOUT IT AND THEY SAID THERE IS NO RECALL. EITHER WAY THE BREAKS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE REPLACED EVERY 19,000 MILES ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE THE REAR BRAKES THE FRONT BRAKE HAVE NOT BEEN REPLACED YET AND STILL HAVE PLENT OF LIFE LEFT IN THE PAD. IN CLOSING I WANT TO LET YOU KNOW THAT THIS IS NOT PROPER AND TO AS IF THERE IS A RECALL OR DESIGN CHANGE BE MADE TO THIS PRODUCE. *TR
08 HONDA ACCORD REAR BRAKES STARTED SQUEALING AT 28,000 MILES. DEALER SAID PADS WERE A HONDA PROBLEM AND WERE 'SOFT' AND DEALER REPLACED THEM. I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THE FRONT BRAKE PADS BECAUSE OF PROBLEM WITH REAR, AND DEALER SAID THE FRONT PADS WERE FINE. THEN ABOUT 33,000 MILES I STARTED TO GET A SHIMMY IN THE FRONT WHEN I BRAKED AT HIGHWAY SPEED (OVER 55 MPH). IT WASN'T TOO BAD AT FIRST, BUT PROGRESSIVELY GOT WORSE. WHEN THE FRONT STARTED TO PULL TO THE LEFT WHEN I BRAKED COMING OFF THE INTERSTATE, I TOLD THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP AND HE SAID IT'S PROBABLY A WARPED ROTOR. PLUS, THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THERE HAD BEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS. HE SAID HE WOULD MACHINE THE FRONT ROTORS, BUT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. THE COST IS WAY BEYOND MY BUDGET. I HAVE NEARLY 39,000 MILES ON THE BRAKES AND THE SHIMMY IS A MAJOR SHAKE WHEN I BRAKE AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND AT LOW SPEEDS IT FEELS LIKE I'M DRIVING ON ROCKS WHEN I BRAKE, ALTHOUGH I'LL BE ON A SMOOTH SERVICE. THE PULL TO THE LEFT COMING OFF THE INTERSTATE IS SO WRONG FOR A 2008 CAR. I HAD IT ALIGNED TWICE JUST IN CASE THAT WAS THE PROBLEM, BUT I WAS ASSURED THE ALIGNMENT WAS GOOD, BUT THE ROTORS WERE NOT. THIS WAS FROM A HIGHLY EXPERIENCED MECHANIC NOT EMPLOYED BY HONDA. HE ALSO SAID HE HAD TALKED TO A NUMBER OF OWNERS OF HONDA ACCORDS OF THE 2008 OR LATER MODEL YEAR AND THEY HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH BRAKE ROTORS WARPING. THAT'S THE EVENTS LEADING UP TO THE PROBLEM. THE BRAKE ROTOR FAILURE OCCURS EVERY MILE I DRIVE AND THE CONSEQUENCES ARE IT TAKES MUCH MORE STOPPING DISTANCE WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKES, AND IF IT'S WET, EVEN MORE STOPPING DISTANCE TO SAFELY OPERATE THE VEHICLE. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO CORRECT THE FAILURE. HONDA SAYS IT MUST BE THE WAY I BRAKE, ALTHOUGH MOST OF MY DRIVING IS ON THE INTERSTATE. I FOUND OUT FROM OTHER HONDA ACCORD OWNERS THAT HAVE HAD THE ROTORS TURNED THAT THEY HAVE TO DO IT AGAIN IN 15,000 MILES. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE, AND HONDA NEEDS TO RECALL ACCORDS AND FIX THEM. *TR
THE BRAKES ON MY 2008 HONDA ACCORD HAVE WORN OUT TWICE PREMATURELY ,THE LAST TIME MY ROTORS WERE GONE AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT ALMOST $400 DOLLARS AT FIRST THE DEALER SERVICE UNIT SAID IT WAS NORMAL. LATER UPON MAKING A LOT OF DISTURBANCE AT DEALERSHIP WITH THE MANAGER OF SERVICE HE ADMITTED THERE WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM. HE SAID PAY AND SUBMIT TO HONDA FOR REFUND. I CALLED HONDA AND THEY SAID TO WAIT SINCE A CLASS ACTION SUIT HAD BEEN FILED AND NO REFUND WOULD BE GIVEN AT THIS TIME. *TR
I WAS TOLD MY REAR BRAKES ON MY 2008 HONDA ACCORD HAVE WORN DOWN AND NEED TO BE REPLACED SOON. I HAVE HAD THE CAR FOR SLIGHTLY LESS THAN 2 YEARS AND ONLY HAVE 23,342 MILES ON IT. I PURCHASED A NEW CAR FORM HONDA SO THIS WAS NOT A USED CAR. GIVEN THE LOW AMOUNT OF MILES OVER THIS TIME PERIOD THESE BRAKE PADS HAVE WORN OUT FASTER THAN THEY SHOULD HAVE ESPECIALLY SINCE I HAVE PUT MUCH LESS THAN 15,000 MILES PER YEAR ON THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE NOT REPLACED THE PARTS YET AS I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT IT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING SERVICED AT AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, THE MECHANIC ADVISED HER THAT THE REAR BRAKES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE; HOWEVER, THE DEALER CUT THE ROTOR AND REPLACED THE BRAKE PEDALS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,266 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 35,269. UPDATED 09/22/10. *LJ
AT ROUGHLY 6,000 MILES, MY 2008 HONDA ACCORD BEGAN MAKING HIGH-PITCHED NOISES (WHICH CAME FROM THE REAR OF THE CAR). I BROUGHT IT INTO MY DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED, "WE COULD NOT REPLICATE THE NOISE THAT YOU HEARD." SO I CONTINUED TO DRIVE IT. AT 22,000 MILES, I HAD TO REPLACE MY REAR BRAKE PADS DUE TO UNEVEN WARE. THE DRIVER SIDE REAR PADS WERE OKAY, HOWEVER, THE PASSENGER SIDE PADS SHOWED UNEVEN WARE. THE INSIDE PAD WAS COMPLETELY GONE. DISCUSSED WHAT I HAD FOUND WITH MY NEW ACCORD WITH DEALERSHIP. THEY STATED THAT MY CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, BUT BECAUSE IT WAS A BRAKE PAD ISSUE, IT WAS CONSIDERED "NORMAL" WARE AND TARE... THEY WANTED CLOSE TO $300.00 FOR REPAIR. I PURCHASED NEW PADS FROM NAPA AUTO PARTS AND INSTALLED MYSELF. I HAVE MY OLD PADS AS EVIDENCE AND ALL RECEIPTS FROM BRINGING MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP (WHICH THEY WERE UNABLE REPLICATE THE PROBLEM). HOWEVER, AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION ONLINE, THIS DEFECT IS SURFACING ALL OVER THE UNITED STATES (CARCOMPLAINTS,COM, EDMUNDS, ETC.) THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE THAT IS NOT BEING ADDRESSED AND INJURIES WILL OCCUR OR WORSE IF THIS IS NOT RECTIFIED. *TR
I WENT TO RICK CASE HONDA WITH MY '08 ACCORD, THE SERVICE PERSON SHOWED ME MY REAR BRAKES WERE WORN. HE STATED I COULD HAVE THEM REPLACED, DUE TO A LAWSUIT AND BRAKE DEFECT, THEN HONDA WOULD REIMBURSE ME FOR THE COST. I HAD THE BRAKES DONE, CALLED HONDA AND THEY SAID THAT THEY ARE NOT REIMBURSING ANYBODY. NOW I'M OUT $160. *TR
2008 HONDA ACCORD, TOOK IT TO ANOTHER HONDA DEALER AND THEY STATED IN WRITTING THAT THE BRAKES WERE PUT ON WRONG BY THE PREVIOUS DEALER (STEVE JONES HONDA OF ABERDEEN 910-6921-2111). I CONTACTED HONDA CORP, BECAUSE STEVE JONES TOLD ME TO TAKE A FLYING LEAP AND CONTACT THEM AND GET INVOLVED WITH THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT, CAN NOT BECAUSE IT WAS THERE SHOTTY WORK. MY 2008 ACCORD EX HAS ABNORMAL BRAKE WEAR. AT ABOUT 25,000 MILES, WE HAD TO REPLACE THE REAR BRAKE PADS. THE WEAR WAS EXTREMELY UNEVEN, AND ONE SIDE OF THE BRAKE WAS WORN BEFORE THE OTHER. THE BRAKES WEAR OUT EVERY TIME AT ABOUT 25,000 MILES, AND THE SENSORS GO OFF MUCH TOO EARLY, AT ABOUT 15,000 MILES. TO CORRECT THE FAILURE, WE REPLACED THE REAR BRAKE PADS, BUT IT DOES NOT FIX THE ABNORMAL WEAR. THE BRAKES ARE ALSO OVERHEATING EXTREMELY QUICKLY, WHICH IS CONTRIBUTING TO THE ABNORMAL WEAR. *TR

2008 HONDA ACCORD PURCHASED NEW AT GARY FORCE HONDA BOWLING GREEN KY. FIRST ISSUE: COLD START RATTLE, DEALER REPLACED ATC ACTUATOR, PROBLEM CORRECTED. HAVE REPLACED BRAKES ON THE CAR 4 TIMES. MOST RECENTLY REPLACED APPROXIMATELY 1 YEAR AGO AND NOW WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED THE STEERING WHEEL VIBRATES WORSE THAN A ROAD WAGON. AT 70,000 MILES OIL LIGHT CAME ON, CHECKED OIL AND NONE WAS ON THE STICK. ADDED OIL, TOOK THE CAR TO DEALER, THEY REPLACED VTC ACTUATOR BUT IT DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. COMPLAINED AGAIN AND THEY PERFORMED OIL CONSUMPTION ANALYSIS ONLY TO TELL ME IT WAS USING LESS THAN ONE QUART PER ONE THOUSAND MILES AND THAT WAS THE INDUSTRY STANDARD. A FEW MONTHS LATER I BECAME MORE IRRITATED ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND COMPLAINED AGAIN. THEY PERFORMED ANOTHER OIL CONSUMPTION ANALYSIS TO TELL ME IT WAS USING MORE THAN IT WAS PREVIOUSLY BUT LESS THAN ONE QUART PER 1000 MILES AND WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING. CURRENTLY THE CAR HAS 100000 MILES ON IT AND YES, THE WARRANTY JUST EXPIRED AND IT'S USING ONE QUART PER 1200 MILES. I WROTE HONDA OF AMERICA A LETTER AND COMPLAINED. THEY CALLED BUT OTHER THAN KIND WORDS, THEY DID NOTHING. OH AND HAVE I MENTIONED THE HEAD LIGHTS.... THEY BLINK WHEN THE HEAT OR AIR IS ON. I MUST NOT FORGET THAT THE LEATHER ON BOTH THE ARM REST AND CONSOLE HAS BUBBLED UP BUT NO SIGNS OF WEAR OR DAMAGE AROUND THE BUBBLES. AND LET ME NOT FORGET THE MOST RECENT ISSUE: NOW OFTEN TIMES WHILE SETTING COMPLETELY STILL AT A STOP LIGHT AND/OR GOING DOWN THE ROAD I HEAR A CLICKING SOUND IN THE STEERING COLUMN. I AM NOT TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN I HEAR THIS NOISE. IT JUST STARTS CLICKING, KIND OF LIKE AN ELECTRONIC CLICK COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. OH WHAT A PIECE OF JUNK HONDA MADE WHEN IT BUILT THE 2008 ACCORD. PAID 30,000 FOR IT AND I'M SADLY DISAPPOINTED. *TR
I HAVE 2008 HONDA ACCORD WHICH I PURCHASED IT NEW IN 2007. I CHANGED THE BACK BRAKES AFTER 12,000MILE AND I TOOK IT TO SERVICE DEALER AFTER 6500 MILE FOR OIL CHANGE AND THEY TOLD ME I NEED NEW BACK BRAKE AGAIN(THIS IS AFTER CHANGING THE BRAKE 6,500 MILE AGO). I RECEIVED THE LETTER FROM HONDA COMPANY THAT THERE WAS THE DEFECT AND IT WAS FIXED AND THEY PAY FOR MY LAST BRAKE CHANGE. NOW I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH BRAKE AND THE PROBLEM WAS NOT FIXED. HONDA SERVICE INDICATED THAT 2008 MODEL YEAR CHANGE MODIFIED WHEN REAR BRAKES ENGAGE AT STOPPING. 2008 ACCORDS ENGAGE THE REAR BRAKES A FRACTION OF SECOND PRIOR TO FRONT BRAKES PREVENTING FRONT DIPPING. THIS WAS DONE WITHOUT ENLARGING THE CALIPER/PAD/ROTOR DIMENSIONS/CAPACITY. *TR

2008 HONDA ACCORD - 4 DOOR: AT APPROXIMATELY 7:47 AM ON FRIDAY, JUNE 4, 2010, I WAS TURNING INTO A PARKING SPACE IN AN OPEN AIR LOT, WITH THE WHEEL TURNED HARD TO THE LEFT, I WENT TO PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD AS IF I WAS PRESSING ON THE ACCELERATOR. I COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND WHEN I LOOKED DOWN AT MY FOOT, IT WAS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE BRAKE PEDAL. EVEN SLAMMING DOWN ON THE BRAKE DID NOT PREVENT ME FROM SMASHING INTO THE NISSAN XTERRA IN THE PARKING SPOT IN FRONT OF MINE AND PUSHING THE SUV FORWARD QUITE A BIT. THERE WAS NO FLOOR MAT ISSUE OBSTRUCTING THE ACCELERATOR, IT WAS SEVERAL INCHES AWAY IN ITS USUAL POSITION. HOPEFULLY, THIS WILL BE THE ONLY FAILURE. I CALLED THE POLICE WHO FILED A REPORT. MY INSURANCE COMPANY TOLD ME TO GET AN APPRAISAL OF THE DAMAGE. NO ONE WAS IN THE NISSAN, BUT DAMAGE WAS DONE TO HIS VEHICLE AS WELL. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS INJURED. *TR
REAR BRAKE PAD WEAR WHICH RUINED THE ROTORS AT 21,000. I REPLACED AND REPAIRED THE BRAKES ONLY TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM RECUR AT 42,000 MILES. I HAVE NOT HAD TO REPLACE THE FRONT PADS YET. THIS IS CLEARLY A SAFETY ISSUE ALTHOUGH HONDA DOESN'T SEEM TO AGREE NOR HAVE THEY FIXED THE QUALITY OF THE PADS. THEY CONTINUE TO PUT THE SAME DEFECTIVE PADS ON THE CARS. I CANNOT BELIEVE A RECALL HAS NOT BEEN REQUIRED. TOYOTA HAD TO RECALL THEIR CARS WHEN THEY ACCELERATED WHEN THEY SHOULDN'T. HONDA SHOULD RECALL THEIR CARS FOR NOT STOPPING WHEN THEY SHOULD. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FOR THE BRAKE PADS BUT NOT THE CALIPERS. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 37,873.

MY OTHER CAR IS A TOYOTA AND THEY DID ALL IN THEIR POWER RECTIFY THE DEFECTS AND PAY A FINE. NHTSA DEFINITELY NEEDS TO BRING HONDA DOWN TO REALITY AND CHECK ON THE NUMEROUS PROBLEMS RELATED TO BRAKES. I WAS TOLD BY RON, IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, THAT I HAD TO REPLACE MY REAR BRAKES IMMEDIATELY. THEY ARE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY OR RECALL. I WAS TOLD MY BRAKES WERE REALLY, REALLY, BAD. I WAS TOLD HONDA ACCORD HAS DEFECTIVE REAR BRAKES. HONDA IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM BUT IS NOT CORRECTING IT UNDER WARRANTY OR RECALL BECAUSE IT HAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST THEM. RECEIVED INFORMATION IN MAIL FROM LAW FIRM THAT HONDA ACKNOWLEDGED ISSUE IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AND WILL REIMBURSE UP TO $150 IN REPAIR COSTS. THIS DOES NOT FIX THE SAFETY ISSUE OF BURNING THROUGH A SET OF BRAKE PADS IN UNDER 20,000 MILES AS WELL AS THE REPEATED TRIPS TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND INCONVENIENCE. ONLINE FORUMS AND COMPLAINT WEBSITES SHOW THE SAME OCCURRENCES FOR THE SAME MAKE/MODEL/YEAR. UPON CALLING HONDA TO COMPLAIN, THEY DO NOT WISH TO RECALL THE PROBLEM, NOR ARE THEY WILLING TO REFUND ME THE $221.30 THAT I HAD TO PAY TO MAKE MY CAR SAFE TO DRIVE. HONDA SAID ON THE PHONE THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND WERE YET TO MAKE A RECALL/REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE FAULT. I BELIEVE THAT HONDA HAD A REPUTATION THAT EXCEEDED MANY MANUFACTURES AND THUS I PURCHASED A HONDA. THIS PROBLEM IS UNACCEPTABLE AND UNFORTUNATE. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO HAVE THE PROBLEM FIXED AND WAS CAPABLE OF PAYING FOR IT. I BOUGHT MY USED 2008 HONDA ACCORD EX IN MARCH 2010 WHEN THE MILEAGE WAS 18000. IN 2 MONTHS, AT 23000, I STARTED TO HEAR SCREECHING SOUNDS COMING OUT OF THE REAR TIRES WHEN I PRESSED THE BRAKES. SLOWLY, THIS PROBLEM STARTED TO WORSEN AND THE NOISE STARTED TO BECOME MORE LOUDER AND IT WAS SOUNDING AS METAL WITH METAL. THIS HAPPENED BOTH WHEN CAR WAS TRAVELING AT 40-50 MPH AND ALSO WHEN BRAKING. THIS OCCURS ALL THE TIME DURING THE DAY. INITIALLY IT STARTS OFF AS NO NOISE BUT AFTER 10 MINUTES AT LOW SPEEDS THE NOISE STARTS TO CRACKLE AND ITS VERY EMBARRASSING ESPECIALLY WHEN BRAKING AT THE LIGHTS AND AT STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. I TOOK THIS TO THE MECHANIC AND HE SAID THAT THE REAR BRAKES HAVE WORN OUT AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. HE CHANGED THE REAR BRAKE PADS, BRAKES, MOTOR AND ALSO FLUSHED OUT THE BRAKE FLUID. IN TOTAL THIS COST ME $700 INCLUDING THE LABOR. WHEN I BOUGHT MY HONDA, I LOOKED AT THE RELIABILITY OF THE CAR AND WITH SUCH LOW MILEAGE I DID NOT EXPECT IT TO GIVE ME ANY ISSUES.
