SRS ECU RECALL HAS BEEN POORLY HANDLE BY HONDA CORPORATION. MY CAR IS A 2008 HONDA ACCORD AND I GOT A RECALL NOTICE RECALL15V-665 AND IT HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED AS OF THIS DATE. I FIRST VISITED TEAM HONDA IN BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA ON JANUARY 12, 2016 AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS NOT RELATED TO RECALL. I WAS TOLD THE COST WOULD BE $500.00 TO REPAIR. I WAS UNABLE TO PAY FOR REPAIR AT THAT TIME. I VISITED THEM AGAIN WHEN I GOT A NOTICE AND THEY STILL WAS UNABLE TO MAKE THE REPAIR AND NOW I AM BEING TOLD IT WOULD BE SOMETIME THIS SUMMER BEFORE PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR AND WOULD LIKE TO EITHER GET MY CAR REPAIRED OR A RENTAL CAR.

I HAVE A 2008 HONDA ACCORD EX L V6 AND THE PROBLEM I'M IS MY CAR DIED BEFORE IT DIED I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND IT STARTED JERKING SO PULL OFF THE HIGHWAY AND AS I COME TO A STOP LIGHT THE BATTERY LIGHTS COME ON LIGHT TURN GREEN AS I HIT THE GAS VERY SLOW TO SHIFT INTO GEAR THEN IT DIES AND I NOTE THE BATTERY AND ALSO THE ALTERNATE IS LESS THEN A YR OLD ONCE I JUMP IT OFF IT STARTED UP NO PROBLEM BUT ONCE I PUT IT IN REVERSE IT DID NOT MOVE I GIVE IT GAS AND NOTHING

VSA BRAKEAND ABS LIGHT COMES ON AFTER ENGINE HAS WARMED UP. HONDA DEALOR HAS DTC 122-01 VSA SELENOID VALVE MALFUNCTION COST FOR THIS DEFECT IN THE VSA LIGHT PER WRITTEN ESTIMATE IS $1639.00. THIS IS A SAFETY HIGHWAY HAZARD. CONTACTED HONDA CORPORATION CUSTOMER SERVICE CASE# 04375940 AND KNOW ONE HAS KNOW KNOWLEDGE OF THE SAFETY CONCERN AND FAIL TO FIXED AND PAY FOR THIS SAFTEY HIGHWAY SAFETY NEED. REFUSES TO HAVE A SUPERVISOR CONTACT ME TO DISCUSS THE CLASS ACTION POWERTRAIN COVERED TIL 6-2016 SERVICE BULLETIN 13-078. MY CAR WILL NOT INCREASE IN SPEED STALLS AT 55 MPH ON HIGH SPEED AND SPEED LIMIT ON HIGHWAY IS 70 MPH AND CAN RECEIVED A TICKET FOR DRIVING UNDER SPEED LIMITED THAT CAN CAUSE A ACCIDENT ON THE HIGHWAYS.

VTC ACTUATOR FAILURE. I GET A GRINDING SOUND WHEN STARTING MY CAR. ALMOST EVERY 2008 HONDA ACCORD IS EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM. HONDA IS AWARE AND THEY HAVE NOT RECALLED THIS ISSUE.

I JUST FIXED MY 2008 HONDA ACCORD AGAIN THE SRS UNIT SYSTEM. AS FIRST, I DON'T THINK THIS SYSTEM IS EASY TO FAILURE, BUT IT HAPPENED TO MY CAR. THE SRS CELTAINLY LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYING FOR A COUPLE MONTHS, I WENT TO DEALER NEAR BY TO HAVE THE DIAGNOSES CHECK AND FIND OUT THE SRS UNIT WENT BAD? (THAT IS DANGEROUS). BUT THE COST IS TOO COSTLY TO FIX. DEALER TOLD ME THAT I CAN WAIT A FEW MONTH, MAYBE HONDA WILL RECALLS AGAIN THE AIRBAG TO FIX IT FREE. (THEY NEVER MENTION THE SRS UNIT. SRS UNIT IS THE HEART OF THE AIRBAG SYSTEM). THEN I TOLD THEM THAT I CAN'T WAIT UNTILL THEN. IT IS MY WIFE CAR. SHE HAS TO DRIVE MY TWO SONS TO SCHOOL EVERYDAY AND I WORRY THE RAIN IS WIIL BE COMING SOON. AND I HAVE TO REPLACED THE SRS UINT FOR $680.00 INCLUDED DIAGNOSES. THE COMPLAINT I WROTE IS THE SRS UNIT SUPPOSE TO WORK AS LONG AS THE CAR STILL OPERATE? WHEN IT FAILURED? IF ACCENDENT? WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO YOU AS A DRIVER AND TO THE PASSENGER??? I LIKE HONDA VERY MUCH BUT NOT HAPPY WHICH WHAT HAPPEN TO MY HONDA ACCORD NOW.

"TAKATA RECALL" OUR CAR WAS IN A FRONT END COLLISION AND THE FRONT END WAS KNOCKED OFF. MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. NEITHER THE FRONT OR THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS WENT OFF AND MY DAUGHTER HIT THE STEERING WHEEL WITH HER FACE AND HIT HER ARM AND SHOULDER ON THE DOOR. BOTH POLICE AND PARAMEDICS SAID THEY SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. TURNING IN MOTION AND LEFT ONTO MAIN ROAD INTO TRAFFIC.

EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION OF 1 OR MORE QUART EVERY 1000 MILES. HONDA REPEATEDLY FAILS TO UPHOLD IT'S SERVICE WARRANTY EXTENSION OF VEHICLES THAT QUALIFY FOR EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION.
FOR 2 YRS MY 2008 HONDA ACCORD WOULD MAKE A LOUD RUMBLE AT A COLD STARTUP. I TOOK MY CAR TO A FEW MECHANICS INCLUDING HONDA AND UNFORTUNATELY THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DETECTED. MY CAR HAS 91,300 MILES CONSUMES EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF OIL TO A POINT OF MONTHLY OIL CHANGES. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT AT STATEN ISLAND HONDA SERVICE CENTER ON SAT. NOV. 15. I WAS TOLD THAT HONDA WOULD NEED TO KEEP THE VEHICLE FOR 2 DAYS IN ORDER TO FIX THE STICKING PISTON RECALL AND THE AIR BAG RECALL. I RESCHEDULED FOR THUR. NOV 19TH 7:45 AM SO THAT I COULD GET A RENTAL CAR. I DROPPED MY CAR OFF WEDS. NOV. 18TH AT 6:30 PM, SO THAT I COULD GO TO WORK ON TIME THE NEXT DAY AND HONDA ACCOMMODATED ME. HOWEVER, I WAS TOLD BY THE MANAGER THAT I WOULD NOT BE GETTING THE RECALLS REPAIRED BECAUSE I DO NOT QUALIFY FOR THE AIR BAG RECALL EVEN THOUGH WHEN I LOOK UP MY VIN # ON THE HONDA WEBSITE IT CLEARLY STATES MY CAR QUALIFIES. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT I WOULD ONLY BE GETTING AN OIL CHANGE WHICH I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR, THEY WOULD NEED TO MONITOR MY CAR FOR 1,000 MILES TO SEE HOW MUCH OIL I CONSUME. I EXPLAINED THAT I HAD ALREADY CONSUMED 60% IN LESS THAN 4 WEEKS. I FEEL MY VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE MY CAR RUMBLES ON ACCELERATION AND JERKS HESITANTLY WHILE THE OIL LIGHT GOES ON SPONTANEOUSLY. I FEEL I AM ENTITLED TO THE RECALL REPAIRS WITH NO HESITANCE FROM THE HONDA SERVICE CENTER.
2008 ACCORD EX-L (4 CYL) STARTED MAKING A RATTLING SOUND ON COLD-STARTS AT APPROXIMATELY 80K MILES. ORIGINALLY THOUGHT TO BE FROM LOW OIL (SEEING HOW THIS VEHICLE BURNS OIL LIKE IT IS ITS JOB), I ALWAYS KEPT AN EXTRA QUART ON HAND. AFTER CLOSELY MONITORING THE RATTLE AND HAVING SEVERAL MECHANICS LOOK AT IT (INCLUDING HONDA), NO ONE COULD IDENTIFY IT UNTIL I HAD A MECHANIC AT WORK LOOK AT IT. I WORK FOR A FLEET LESSOR. HE IDENTIFIED IT AS THE VTC ACTUATOR. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED A BUDDY WHO IS A PARTS MANAGER FOR HONDA AND HE CONFIRMED THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE. A SIMPLE GOOGLE SEARCH BLEW MY MIND! THIS HAS BEEN A KNOWN ISSUE FOR YEARS AND APPARENTLY HAS CATASTROPHIC FAILURE RESULTS ON ENGINES! MAKES ME FEEL REALLY SAFE KNOWING THAT MY ACCORD HAS SO MANY SAFETY ISSUES! PREMATURE BRAKE/ROTOR WEAR, SRS MODULE FAILURE (CONTROLS THE AIR BAG SYSTEM), HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION, INADEQUATE BATTERY CRANKING AMPS, TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE RECALLS, ETC. WHEN THIS CAR DIES, ITS GONE AND NEVER TO BE REPLACED WITH ANOTHER HONDA. HONDA REFUSED TO WARRANTY MY CAR FOR THE RECENT OIL CONSUMPTION RECALL BECAUSE I AM BEYOND THEIR 125K MILEAGE THRESHOLD EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE ME ON RECORD OF THE ISSUE GOING BACK TO 60-80K MILES! NOT A HAPPY HONDA OWNER.

I BEGAN HEARING A DISTURBING MECHANICAL RATTLE ON COLD STARTS AND STARTED TO BECOME MORE EXCESSIVE DURING THE WINTER MONTHS. IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE VTC ACTUATOR WAS THE PROBLEM AND I CONTACTED HONDA AMERICA FOR A SOLUTION AND ASSISTANCE BUT THEY DENIED ANY GOODWILL SERVICE BECAUSE OF THE AGE AND MILES ON MY CAR EVEN THOU ITS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH EVERY 2008 ACCORD 2.4L KSERIES ENGINE. MY 2003 ACCORD, SOUNDS MUCH BETTER AT START UP THAN MY 2008. KIND OF SAD SINCE IT'S OVER 200,000 MILES NOW. THE GRINDING SOUNDS SO BAD IT HAS TO BE DAMAGING TO SOMETHING IN THE ENGINE. WITH SO MANY COMPLAINTS FROM ALL THE 2008 V4 OWNERS, I DON'T KNOW WHY HONDA IS ACKNOWLEDGING THIS PROBLEM AND RELEASE A SERVICE BULLETIN BUT NOT A FREE REPLACEMENT OF THE TROUBLED PARTS. THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING GIVEN AND I AM VERY UNHAPPY WITH HONDA'S CUSTOMER SERVICE. SUDDENLY AFTER 68000 MILES, MY HONDA ACCORD 2008 HAS A WARNING LIGHT SAYING SRS FAULTY (ERROR CODE 15-078). WHEN I TOOK IT TO DEALER THEY CHARGED ME $134 TO DIAGNOSE THIS PROBLEM AND TELLING ME THAT THE FAULT IS WITH SEAT BELT SENSOR. SO, THEY WANTED $1300 TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. I BELIEVE THIS PROBLEM IS RELATED TO THEIR SRS BAG RECALL AND IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH FAULTY SEATBELT SENSOR. HONDA IS TRYING RIP US OFF AS I SEE AT LEAST 69 PEOPLE REPORTED ON THENET OF THE SIMILAR PROBLEM. THIS TELLS US THAT THIS PROBLEM IS NOT ISOLATED OR DRIVING RELATED OR DAMAGE BY THE OWNER, BUT A FAULTY PART AND FAULTY SYSTEM. HENCE, I REQUEST NHTSA TO LOOK INTO THIS PROBLEM ALSO AND FORCE HONDA TO PRODUCE SAFER VEHICLES AND FIX THE VEHICLES ALREADY IN USE AND ON THE AMERICAN ROADS.

SEVERAL YEARS AGO BACK IN 2011, WHEN PURCHASING THE CAR FROM ANOTHER OWNER, STILL UNDER WARRANTY, L COMPLAINED TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP ABOUT THE CAR RUNNING OUT OF OIL MILES BEFORE THE NEXT OIL CHANGE AT 3000 MILES. I DID NOT KNOW WHERE THE OIL WAS GOING, THERE WERE NO LEAKS. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING ON RECORD, AND THERE WAS NOTHING THAT THEY COULD DO. I LEFT THE ISSUE, CHANGED MY OWN OIL, BECAUSE, L COULD NOT AFFORD TO HAVE THE OIL CHANGED EVERY 200 MILES. I HAD TO ADD A QUART EVERY 1000 MILES, UNTIL THE LIMIT WAS MEET TO CHANGE THE ENGINE OIL COMPLETELY. BASICALLY L LEFT THE PROBLEM ALONE. IN AUGUST 2015, L RECEIVED A LETTER FROM HONDA EXTENDING THE WARRANTY TO 125,000 MILES DUE THE AN OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM CAUSE BY BAD PISTONS. BASICALLY A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT. I CONTACTED HONDA USA AND WAS TOLD THAT EVEN THOUGH OUT OF WARRANTY, L SHOULD DO A OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. I DID THIS. THE CAR BURNED 2.2 QUARTS IN 1975 MILES. IT WAS DETERMINED BY THE DEALER THAT THE PISTONS NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. ON 10-23-15 AT 11:47 AM, HONDA CONTACTED ME AND TOLD ME THAT SINCE MY CAR IS NOW 8000 MILES OUT OF WARRANTY, THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO, AND THE REPAIRS WAS ON ME TO DO AT MY EXPENSE. I FIND THIS TO BE VERY TROUBLESOME SINCE IT IS NOT AN ISSUE THAT L STARTED, BUT IT IS A PROBLEM FROM HONDA, WHEN THE CAR WAS MADE. I AM VERY UPSET OVER THIS, AND L AM CONTACTING YOU TO SEE IF L HAVE ANY GROUNDS TO FIGHT THIS MATTER. I USE MY CAR FOR WORK, AND L LOVE IN THE SOUTH, AND HAVE TO DRIVE TO WORK EVERY DAY. SO MILEAGE DOES ACCUMULATE. BESIDES BEING RECALLED FOR THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE UPDATE, PREMATURE BRAKE/ROTOR WEAR (MORE THAN I CARE TO COUNT, HONESTLY), BATTERY/ELECTRICAL ISSUES, SRS MODULE FAILURE THAT HONDA REFUSED TO FIX/ADDRESS/RECALL (I HAD TO PAY $600 OUT OF POCKET ON THAT ONE), I AM NOW BATTLING WITH HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION.... CONSISTENTLY. ALTHOUGH, THIS HAS RECENTLY BEEN VOLUNTARILY RECALLED FOR THE ISSUE, I AM OUTSIDE THE 125K MILE WARRANTY TERM. I AM CURRENTLY AT 172K MILES. I RELIGIOUSLY GET AN OIL CHANGE EVERY 3K MILES. EVERY 2K MILES I NEED TO ADD A QUART OF OIL. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE SINCE AROUND 60K MILES. YET, HERE I AM "BURNING" A QUART OF OIL EVERY 2K MILES. JUST RECENTLY, AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF DRIVING AND AFTER ABOUT 1500 MILES AFTER AN OIL CHANGE, MY ENGINE STARTED MAKING A "PINGING SOUND." THEN THE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AND TURNED THE ENGINE OFF TO FIND THAT THE OIL (PER THE DIPSTICK) WAS LOW AGAIN! I UNDERSTAND THE CAR IS GETTING UP THERE IN MILEAGE BUT THE THING LOOKS BRAND NEW AND I HAVE ALWAYS KEPT UP ON THE MAINTENANCE. THERE IS NO REASON IT SHOULD BE "BURNING" THE OIL AS QUICKLY AS IT IS FOR AS LONG AS IT HAS. THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD A SMALL REAR END COLLISION BUT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I WAS TOLD THAT SOME OF THE OTHER PARTS OF THE SAFETY SYSTEM WERE COVERED REPAIRS AT NO COST BUT THE CONTROL SENSOR WAS NOT COVERED. I TOOK THE CAR TO AUTONATION HONDA IN MEMPHIS, TN.
