HONDA KNOWS ALL ABOUT THEIR 6 CYL ENGINES BURNING THROUGH OIL BUT DOES NOTHING ABOUT IT. MY CAR STARTED BURNING AND NOW LEAKING OIL BADLY BEFORE IT HIT 100,000 MILES BUT I AM NOW LOOKING AT A LARGE REPAIR BILL AS MY CAR ISN'T ON "THE LIST". NOT SURE HOW IT COULDN'T BE AS ARTICLES CITE 6 CYL ACCORDS BETWEEN THE YEARS 2008 AND 2012. MINE IS A 6 CYL ACCORD, 2009: HOW IS THAT NOT ON THE LIST?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING UNKNOWN SPEEDS, THE PASSENGER SIDE TURN SIGNAL LEVER FAILED TO REMAIN IN POSITION. ADDITIONALLY, THE VEHICLE WAS BURNING OIL EXCESSIVELY WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT CALLED A LOCAL DEALER (MCGRATH CITY HONDA, 6720 W GRAND AVE CHICAGO IL, 60707) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000.
TAKATA RECALL ISSUE NOT RESOLVED IN TIMELY MANNER. ADVISED IN EARLY SUMMER OF DANGERS ASSOCIATED WITH FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG AND TO NOT ALLOW PASSENGERS IN FRONT SEAT. ALSO ADVISED REPLACEMENT PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE BY LATE AUGUST. SINCE THEN HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY FURTHER COMMUNICATION. ON THIS WEBSITE, I LEARN REPLACEMENT PARTS TO BE AVAIL BY LATE FALL. IT IS NOVEMBER 28 AND LESS THAN A MONTH BEFORE OFFICIAL START OF WINTER.
MY ENGINE IS CONSUMING MORE OIL THAN IT SHOULD. I RECENTLY NOTICED THIS AND HAVE DONE MY RESEARCH AND IT TURNS OUT TO BE A COMMON RANDOM DEFECTS WITH HONDA ACCORDS. I AM WORRIED THAT THE ENGINE MIGHT ONE DAY CATCH ON FIRE OR EVEN FAIL WHILE I AM DRIVING. I HAVE GOTTEN A LETTER FROM HONDA STATING THAT THEY BELIEVE THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE GAS BUMP BUT THEY WERE WRONG. THE PROCEDURE TO FIX THIS MAY COST ME A LOT OF MONEY BUT I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS DAMAGE. IT EFFECTS MY SAFETY AND I AM NOT WILLING TO RISK THAT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, A RATTLING NOISE EMERGED FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE DEALER CONFIRMED THE DIAGNOSIS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS AND WAS GETTING WORSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,153.
I HEAR THE RATTLE NOISE WHEN COLD START ENGINE ONLY 87,000 MILES I READ THE BULLETIN SERVICE THEY SAID THAT NOISE FROM DEFECTIVE VTC ACTUATOR THAT VALVE IS CONTROL TIMING TO ADVANCE AND RETART DEPEND ON ENGINE SPEED TO HELP CONTROL EMISSION TO HELP THE ENVIRONMENT AND LESS POLLUTION
WHEN RAINING CAR WILL NOT COME OUT OF TURN. STEERING GETS STUCK IN DIRECTION OF TURN. GEAR SHIFT GOES FROM DRIVE TO NEUTRAL WITHOUT PRESSING BUTTON TOOK CAR TO DEALER AND THEY STATE PROBLEM CANNOT BE DUPLICATED.
"TAKATA RECALL" AMERICAN HONDA FAILED TO NOTIFY ME WHEN THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG INFLATOR REPLACEMENT PART BECAME AVAILABLE. I DID NOT KNOW THE PART WAS AVAILABLE UNTIL I CALLED THE LOCAL HONDA DEALER AFTER READING ARTICLES IN THE PAPER THAT THE PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. HONDA SAID IN THE ARTICLE THAT THEY HAD SENT LETTERS AND BLAMED CAR OWNERS FOR BEING SLOW TO RESPOND WHEN IN FACT THIS IS NOT TRUE. PLEASE REQUIRE HONDA TO NOTIFY OWNERS IMMEDIATELY THAT PARTS ARE AVAILABLE SO THAT OTHER OWNERS ARE NOT CONTINUED TO BE PLACED AT RISK. THANK YOU.

THE TPMS WARNING LIGHT PERIODICALLY APPEARS DESPITE THE FACT THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE IS NOT LOW ON MY 2009 HONDA ACCORD. THE TPMS LIGHT HAS REMAINED ON FOR THE LAST FEW DAYS EVEN THOUGH I HAVE VERIFIED THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE IS NORMAL. THE CAR WAS DRIVEN ON HIGHWAYS AND CITY STREETS WHILE THE LIGHT REMAINED ON.

THE PAINT FADED, CLEAR COAT COMING OFF AND IT IS PEELING. TERRIBLE QUALITY! LEATHER SEATS HAVE BUBBLED AND RIPPED. TERRIBLE QUALITY.
ENGINE RATTLES AT COLD START-UP - SERVICE BULLETIN 09-010 SYMPTOM - AT COLD START-UP, THE ENGINE RATTLES LOUDLY FOR ABOUT 2 SECONDS. CAUSE - THE VARIABLE VALVE TIMING CONTROL (VTC) ACTUATOR IS DEFECTIVE
TAKATA RECALL - UNREASONABLE TIME SINCE NOTIFICATION FOR PARTS STILL NOT TO BE AVAILABLE TO REPLACE DEFECTED AIRBAG(S). NO MATTER WHETHER I'VE HAD AN INCIDENT I CARE FOR MY UNCLE AND CAN NOT TAKE HIM PLACES IN MY VEHICLE UNTIL YOUR COMPANY DEEMS IT NECESSARY TO SPEND THE MONEY TO FIX ITS MISTAKE. PLEASE FIND AN IMMEDIATE SOLUTION OR PROVIDE A LONER CAR. AND, I FIND IT HIGHLY UNLIKELY THAT THE PROBLEM IS ONLY IN THE PASSENGER AIRBAG AND NOT THE DRIVER OR SIDE AIRBAGS. YOUR NOTIFICATION DID NOT PROVIDE ENOUGH EXPLANATION OR PEACE OF MIND. YOU HAVE LOST A 4X HONDA CUSTOMER ON A FUTURE CAR PURCHASE AND I'M SURE MANY OTHERS DUE TO YOUR POOR PERFORMANCE OF THIS ISSUE.
7/2016 MY OIL LIGHT CAME ON AND I WENT TO MY MECHANIC AND THEY SAID MY OIL STICK WAS DRY AND THEY ENDED UP DOING LOTS OF WORK; MAINTENANCE MOSTLY AND PERHAPS IT WOULD TAKE CARE OF THE OIL LOSS. THEY DID NOT FIND A LEAK. 9/19/2016 MY ENGINE HAD PROBLEMS STARTING; WENT TO FIRESTONE TO GET A NEW BATTERY AND I TOLD THEM NO OTHER MAINTENANCE AS I HAVE A MECHANIC. THEY INSTALLED MY BATTERY AND TOLD ME MY OIL STICK WAS DRY AND I HAD 50% OIL NOTED ON MY DASH BOARD. WENT TO MY MECHANIC ON 9/21/2016 AND THEY SAID MY OIL STICK WAS DRY AGAIN. MY MECHANIC RESEARCHED AND FOUND THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE; THEREFORE AM REPORTING IT.
HIGH ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION. 4 CYL ENGINE BURNS 2.5 QUARTS OF OIL EVERY 1600 MILES. HEAVY SOOT RESIDUE ON TAILPIPE, AND ENGINE PINGING WHILE DRIVING UPHILL WITH NORMAL OIL LEVEL. NO VISIBLE OIL LEAKS. DEALER CLAIMS THAT 1 QUART EVERY 1000 MILES IS NORMAL CONSUMPTION. CURRENTLY PERFORMING ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST AND WILL FOLLOW UP IN 1000 MILES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVATED, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT HAD TO PLACE THE GEAR INTO NEUTRAL AND DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL IN ORDER FOR THE BRAKES TO OPERATE. IN ADDITION, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK, THE ENGINE CONTINUE TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT HAD TO TURN THE ENGINE OFF TWICE IN ORDER TO RESUME DRIVING. THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. I RECEIVED A RECALL ON AIR BAGS 07/23/2016 . GOT ANOTHER LETTER FROM HONDA THAT THEY WOULD REPLACE THE BAGS IN SEPTEMBER 2016. THATS THE LAST I HAVE HEARD FROM HONDA. AIR BAGS STILL NOT REPLACED.
TAKATA RECALL: I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM HONDA ON 07/18/2016 INFORMING ME OF THE ISSUE. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE LOCAL DEALER THE NEXT DAY AND THEY TOLD ME TO CALL HONDA TO ARRANGE ALTERNATE TRANSPORTATION. I CALLED ON 07/19/16 AND THEY TOLD ME THAT MY REPORT WAS RECEIVED AND THEY WOULD PROVIDE ALTERNATE TRANSPORT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I CALLED AGAIN ON 07/21/2016 AND FOUND OUT THAT A CASE WAS NEVER OPENED FOR ME AND THERE IS NO RECORD OF MY CONTACT ON 07/19. ANOTHER CASE WAS SUPPOSEDLY OPENED, AND I FOLLOWED UP AGAIN ON 07/22/16, ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT AGAIN, MY CASE WAS NEVER CREATED. I AM DRIVING A HAZARDOUS VEHICLE AND HONDA IS REFUSING TO PROVIDE ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORT. ONLY ON MY THIRD ATTEMPT WAS A CASE OPENED, AND I HAVE NOT HEARD A RESPONSE SINCE. HONDA IS NOT ALLOCATING APPROPRIATE RESOURCES TO THE RECALL TO PROVIDE ALTERNATE TRANSPORT TO CONSUMERS AT RISK.

I WAS GETTING READY TO LEAVE FOR WORK ONE MORNING AND I NOTICED WHEN I CRANKED THE CAR UP THAT IT MADE A KNOCKING NOISE FOR ABOUT 2 SECONDS AND QUIT. I DONE A LOT OF RESEARCH A FOUND THAT A LOT OF THE SAME CARS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. I FOUND OUT THAT IT WAS THE VTC ACTUATOR. IT ONLY DOES THIS WHEN IT IS COOL. IF IT HAS BEEN CRANKED UP IT WILL NOT DO IT.

EVEN WITH CORRECT TIRE PRESSURE, THE TPMS WARNING LIGHT COMES ON AFTER ABOUT 20 MILES, OR AT TIMES COMES ON AT START UP AND REMAINS ON. SOMETIMES CAN GO MONTHS WITHOUT IT COMING ON. THIS IS NOT THE SEPARATE LOW TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR.

I WAS TOLD THE REMEDY PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE IN LATE SUMMER OR FALL OF 2016. I'VE ASKED THE DEALER (PASADENA HONDA) ABOUT IT SEVERAL TIMES, BUT I'M TOLD THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. IT'S QUITE AN INCONVENIENCE TO BE UNABLE TO USE MY PASSENGER FRONT SEAT. HONDA HAS NOT INDICATED WHEN I WILL, IN TRUTH, BE ABLE TO HAVE THE PROBLEM FIXED.
TAKATA RECALL, I RECEIVED THE NOTIFICATION OF THE RECALL IN JULY OF 2016, IT IS NOW NOVEMBER OF 2016 WITH NO SIGN OF A FIX. THIS IS INEXCUSABLE, MY CAR IS NOT SAFE TO HAVE WITH PASSENGERS. THE AIRBAGS HAVE NOT DEPLOYED THANKFULLY, BUT KNOWINGLY WAITING TO PUT A FIX OUT FOR THIS RECALL IS PUTTING PEOPLE AT RISK.

LAST WEEK I HEARD A RUBBING/SCRAPING NOISE COMING FROM THE RIGHT REAR OF MY 2009 HONDA ACCORD. TODAY I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERS AND HAD TO HAVE THE RIGHT REAR CALIPER REPLACED, NEW BRAKE PADS AND NEW ROTORS. THIS VEHICLE IS WELL TAKEN CARE OF AND IS GARAGE KEPT. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY I NEEDED NEW BRAKES AND ROTORS AS MY CAR HAS APPROXIMATELY 22,000 MILES ON IT. I AM EXTREMELY UPSET BY THIS.

TARKATA RECALL - I RECEIVED NOTIFICATION FROM HONDA MOTOR CO. IN JULY 2016, ASKING TO TAKE AUTO TO DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALERSHIP. WHEN I ARRIVED, THEY SAID THEY KNEW NOTHING ABOUT PROBLEM AND THEY WOULD LOOK INTO IT AND ADVISE ME. THEY NEVER DID, SO I WENT BACK ON 8/31/16 AND SPOKE WITH ADVISOR, PAUL MLYNAREK. HE SAID HONDA HAD NOT SENT THEM THE PARTS TO REPAIR VEHICLE. THEY CONTINUED TO GIVE ME THE VERY SAME RESPONSE EACH TIME I CALLED. I FEEL THAT 7-MONTHS IS AMPLE TIME TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN IMPOUND LOT WHERE IT WAS DEEMED DESTROYED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED BY A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.

POWER WINDOW REAR RT - WON'T CLOSE. THE MOTOR GETS VERY HOT. VERY UNSAFE, HAD MY MECHANIC DISCONNECT THE MOTOR. THE WINDOW STARTED OPENING ON ITS OWN WHILE I WAS IN MOTION & WOULDN'T CLOSE. WHEN ENGINE IS ON, THE MOTOR IS ON ALL THE TIME AND COULD CAUSE A FIRE WHEN KEY IS ON POSITIIN.I JUST REALIZED THAT THIS HAD TO BE THE CAUSE OF THE MELTED MOLDING ONLY ON THAT ONE WINDOW. RARELY OPEN THIS WINDOW THROUGHOUT THE YEARS.
SUMITOMO 70K 600AB 94V HTR ENHANCE L/X 2255017HTR PURCHASED ALL 4 TIRES NEW AT 84K ON 9-11-2014. ON 7-2-2016 AT 103K, I WAS DRIVING DOWN I-95 ABT 70 MPH, CAR SUDDENLY STARTED VIBRATING VIOLENTLY. MANAGED TO RIDE IN EMERGENCY LANE TO NEXT EXIT AT 15 MPH TO FIND A TIRE SHOP ON NEXT EXIT. HAD TO PURCHASE 2 NEW TIRES- CAUSE WAS A SIX INCH SECTIONS OF TREAD THAT APPEARED TO HAVE SEPARATED INTERNALLY. HAD NUMEROUS "BUBBLING" ON BOTH TIRES, BELT SEPARATION WAS NOTICEABLE. THESE ARE 70K TIRES AND THEY ONLY HAD 19K MILES ON THEM. I WAS ALONE AND HEADING TO JAX, MANAGER OF TIRE PLACE SUGGESTED THAT WE TAKE SEVERAL PICS OF THE TIRES SINCE I WASN'T ABLE TO TAKE THEM WITH ME (MY TRUNK WAS FULL). WASN'T ABLE TO MAKE IT BACK TO GA FOR ANOTHER 3 WEEKS DUE TO MED EMERGENCY- UPON RETURNING BACK, I TOOK MY CAR TO THE TIRE PLACE THAT INSTALLED THEM ALONG WITH THE PICS AND RECEIPT. MANAGER INFORMED ME THAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO SAVE THE 2 DEFECTIVE TIRES (AS IN BRINGING THEM WITH ME!) AND THAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO CALL THEM WHEN IT HAPPENED (THEY ARE CLOSED ALL WEEKEND) AND THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO COMPENSATE ME FOR THIS ISSUE WITHOUT THE ACTUAL TIRES! I HAD NO IDEA THAT THIS WAS EXPECTED OF ME.
TAKATA INFLATORS RECALL LETTER DATED JULY 2016. WAS TOLD I WOULD BE CONTACTED BY FALL 2016 AND TO AVOID HAVING ANYONE IN MY PASSANGER SIDE UNTIL REPAIRS ARE COMPLETED. NO ONE HAS CONTACTED ME ITS BEEN OVER 6 MONTHS & FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND BOTH FRONT AIR BAGS NEED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO RECALL.
