TAKATA RECALL - HONDA ADVISED NOT TO CARRY PASSENGERS UNTIL THIS WAS REPAIRED. RECEIVED NOTICE IN MAY 2016. AS OF 24JAN2017 STILL HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. IT HAS BEEN LONG ENOUGH.
MY 2010 HONDA ACCORD HAS HAD A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FOR A P0420 CODE AT 110K MILES. FOR SOMEONE THAT KNOWS SOMETHING ABOUT CARS, A CATALYTIC CONVERTER SHOULD NOT BE GOING OUT THIS SOON. AS I READ NUMEROUS FORUMS AND ARTICLES ONLINE, MANY OTHERS HAVE REPORTED THE SAME ISSUES WITH THEIR 8TH GENERATION ACCORD, YET HONDA HAS NOT BEEN TOLD TO ISSUE A RECALL. OBVIOUSLY THESE CONVERTERS WERE POORLY MADE AND IT IS GOING TO COST NEARLY 1000$ TO FIX THIS.
2010 HONDA ACCORD. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO WARRANTY EXTENSION BULLETIN (SRS ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT MAY BE SUSCEPTIBLE TO CORROSION, POTENTIALLY RESULTING IN SRS ECU FAILURE) IS NOTHING MORE THAN AN ATTEMPT TO AVOID A RECALL. *SMD
WHILE DRIVING ON 414 MAITLAND, OUT OF NO WHERE I HEARD A LOUD "POW!" THOUGH I DIDN'T FEEL LIKE IT, I THOUGHT A BIRD OR METEORITE OR STREET LIGHT COVER HAD FALLEN FROM THE SKY AND LANDED ON MY VEHICLE. I LOOKED IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR AND SAW A BLACK SQUARE OBJECT FALL FROM THE SKY AND THE CAR BEHIND SWERVE OUT OF ITS WAY. AT THAT POINT I COULD HEAR SMALL PIECES OF SOMETHING BOUNCING AROUND IN THE POCKET BETWEEN THE MOON ROOF AND THE COVER, AND ROLLING ON, OVER AND OFF OF THE MY CAR. I PULLED OVER TO INVESTIGATE THE MATTER MORE THOROUGHLY, EXPECTING TO SEE A DEAD BIRD, BLOOD & FEATHERS, OR A ROCK, OR A STREET LIGHT COVER SITTING IN THE AREA WHERE MY MOON ROOF GLASS USE TO BE, INSTEAD I FOUND A HUGE GAPING HOLE(APPROX. 12" X 17" IN THE MIDDLE OF MY MOON ROOD AND THE REMAINDER OF THE GLASS AROUND THE PERIMETER OF THE HOLE ARCHED LIKE A HILL. I DETERMINED THAT THE "POW!" I HEARD WAS THE GLASS EXPLODING, AND THE BLACK PIECE OF SOMETHING THAT WAS FALLING FROM THE SKY IN MY REAR VIEW WAS THE PORTION OF GLASS. I IT WAS CLOUDY AND LOOKED LIKE IT MIGHT RAN, SO I IMMEDIATELY WENT TO THE NEAREST SHOP (PUBLIX) AND BOUGHT A BOX OF 2 MIL CONTRACTOR GARAGE BAGS, SOME SHIPPING TAPE AND TAPED ONE OF THE BAGS OF THE TOP OF THE VEHICLE. I THEN RETRACED MY PATH I THE INTERSTATE TO MAKE SURE THAT SOMETHING DIDN'T FALL FROM THE SKY AND THAT THE GLASS HAD IN FACT EXPLODED. I FOUND NOTHING, EXCEPT THE SHARDS OF GLASS THAT WAS ONCE MY MOON ROOF. I THEN WENT HOME, PARKED THE CAR AND BEGAN RESEARCH "EXPLODING MOON ROOF". COME TO FIND OUT THIS IS NOT AN ALIEN OCCURRENCE AND SPECIFICALLY WITH THIS MANUFACTURER, YEAR, MAKE & MODEL. THE PAINT FALLS OFF AND TURNS YELLOW. THE CAR IS GARAGE KEPT AND I ONLY USE HIGH QUALITY CAR WASH MATERIALS. I WAS TOLD IT WAS NORMAL FOR A SIX YEAR OLD GARAGE KEPT CAR TO CHANGE COLORS AND THE PAINT FALL OFF. NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR THEY SAID.
ENGINE BURING OIL - PISTON RINGS NEED REPLACED, ALSO VTC ACTUATOR, TIMING CHAIN, TENSIONER AND GUIDE. 2ND TIME WITH ISSUE - NOT RESOLVED 1ST TIME.
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V346000 (AIR BAGS). THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
ENGINE MAKES RATTLING SOUND THAT LASTS 1-2 SECONDS WHEN STARTING ENGINE AFTER OVERNIGHT IDLING. SOUND OF METAL-METAL RUBBING EACH OTHER. SOUND GOES AWAY AFTER A FEW SECONDS. COMPLAINT SIMILAR TO ONE FOUND ONLINE WHERE MANY PEOPLE COMPLAINED OF SAME ISSUE AND PIN-POINT PROBLEM TO THE VTC (VARIABLE TIMING CONTROL) ACTUATOR.
I AM WANTING TO KNOW ABOUT ANY RECALL ON THE VTC ACTUATOR. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND MY CAR IS NOW MAKING THAT NOISE AT START UP. I KNOW ALOT OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE AND I THINK HONDA NEEDS TO BE RESPONSIBLE AND GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS
HUMMING SOUND COMING FROM FRONT OF CAR. THE SOUND INCREASES WITH SPEED. WENT TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL BEARING IS DEFECTIVE AFTER 16000 MILES. THE PROBLEM OCCURS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND THIS PROBLEM COULD BE WIDE SPREAD.
VTC ACTUATOR FAILURE ON COLD STARTS NUMEROUS TIMES.
HIGH CONSUMPTION OF OIL. THIS PROBLEM IS ADDITIONAL TO THE COLD START PROBLEM NOISE. I RECEIVED A LETTER ABOUT THIS EXTENDING THE WARRANTEE TO 125,000 MILES. I AM GOING TOMORROW TO GET MY CAR SERVICED. I AM GOING TO REPORT THIS TO THEM AND SEE WHAT THEY SAY.
HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION AND NOISE WHEN STARTING AT TIMES.
TAKATA RECALL. WE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN THE BEGINNING OF APRIL AND CALLED CLAWSON HONDA TO SCHEDULE THE REPAIR AND WERE TOLD THEY WOULD NOT HAVE ANY UNTIL JUNE OR JULY. CALLED THE FIRST WEEK OF JUNE AND WERE TOLD THEY WOULDN'T HAVE ANY UNTIL LATER AND CALL BACK IN JULY. CALLED TWO WEEKS AGO AND WERE TOLD THEY HAD NO IDEA WHEN THEY WOULD BE RECEIVED. WE ARE TIRED OF THE RUNAROUND AND DELAYING TACTICS BY CLAWSON HONDA AND WANT THE CAR FIXED.
TAKATA RECALL THE PROPELLANT WAFERS IN SOME OF THE SUBJECT INFLATORD MAT DEGRADE OVER TIME WHICH MY LEAD TO OVER AGGRESSIVE COMBUSTION IN THE EVENT THE AIRBAG IS ACTIVADED.
MY CAR WAS ON RECALL FOR THE OIL CONSUMPTION AND THE AIR BAGS ARE ON CALL. AND I ALSO HAVE A NOISE MASK ISSUE AND TRANSMISSION .
MOON ROOF EXPLODED WHILE DRIVING ON HWY 15 IN 65 DEGREE WEATHER HERE IN SAN DIEGO. SOUNDED LIKE A LOUD EXPLOSION. NO CARS WERE CLOSE TO ME. ONLY THE MOON ROOF WAS AFFECTED, NO OTHER DAMAGE TO THE CAR ROOF OR ELSEWHERE. CAR ONLY HAS 75,000. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER. !ST ALL OF MY DOOR LOCK FAILED, NO THIS!!
MY MOTOR BEGINS TO GRIND WHEN I TURN OVER THE MOTOR FOR ABOUT TWO SECONDS..AND MY MOTOR IS BURNING OIL I HAVE TO ADD 2-3 QUARTS EVERY OIL CHANGE
I AM HAVING AN OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM AT LEAST 3 QUARTS IN BETWEEN OIL CHANGES THIS HAS BEEN GETTING WORSE AND STARTED ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER PURCHASE. THIS PAST FEBRUARY IT STARTED MISSING AND I HAD A LOSS OF POWER WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY ON THE WAY TO WORK. I TOOK IT IN AND THE HONDA DEALERSHIP REPLACED FOUR FOULED SPARK PLUGS AND SAID IF IT HAPPENED AGAIN THEY WOULD REPLACE THE RINGS IN THE ENGINE, IN TOTAL I WILL HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP 6 TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM AND I AM GETTING VERY TIRED OF TAKING IT IN SO THEY CAN TELL ME THAT THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM. WITH THE LOSS OF POWER I COULD HAVE BEEN IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT AND I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE ENGINE FAILING EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE CAR. I WOULD CONSIDER THIS CAR UNSAFE BECAUSE IT COULD FAIL AT ANYTIME AND LEAVE ME STRANDED OR WORSE IT COULD FAIL WHEN I AM PULLING INTO TRAFFIC OR MERGING ONTO A HIGHWAY.
MY CAR BURNS TOO MUCH OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. I HAVE CONTACTED HONDA AND VEHICLE CHECKED OUT 5 TIMES NOW FOR THE PROBLEM, THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT FOR MY VEHICLE TO GET FIXED IN THE OIL CONSUMPTION CLASS ACTION SUIT IT HAD TO HAVE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON TWICE, ETC. I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THIS THE 1ST TIME THE LIGHT CAME ON I LOST ABOUT 50% OF THE POWER OF THE VEHICLE WHEN I WAS TRAVELLING ON A VERY BUSY HIGHWAY, I HAD TO CHANGE LANES AND SLOW DOWN BECAUSE I COULDN'T KEEP UP AND MY VEHICLE WAS SHAKING SO BADLY. IT TURNS OUT THAT MY OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM HAD FOULED THE SPARK PLUGS AND CAUSED THEM TO STOP FIRING WHICH MEANS I LOST THE POWER OF THE CYLINDERS THAT HAD THE FOULED SPARK PLUGS. NOW THEY WANT ME TO WAIT TILL IT HAPPENS AGAIN BEFORE THEY WILL REPAIR THE ENGINE AND FOLLOW THE CLASS ACTION THAT THEY AGREED TO FOLLOW. WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF I WAS PULLING INTO TRAFFIC AND LOST 50% OF MY POWER OR AM MERGING ONTO AN INTERSTATE. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION AND THEY KNOW THE PROBLEM EXIST, BUT WON'T FIX IT IN A TIMELY MANNER. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT DRIVING THE VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE CONTACT SPED UP TO AVOID A CRASH AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BECAME STUCK AND THE BRAKE PEDAL EXTENDED TO THE FLOOR. THE CONTACT PLACED THE GEAR IN NEUTRAL, WHICH BUMPED UP THE BRAKE PEDAL TO NORMAL POSITION. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT RESPOND. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2010 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE IDLING IN TRAFFIC, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED AND CRASHED INTO THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE DRIVER IN VEHICLE THAT WAS REAR ENDED SUFFERED FROM WHIPLASH. ONE OTHER PASSENGER IN THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED BRUISES AND A HEAD INJURY THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED FROM THE SCENE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,422.
MY ACCORD OIL LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON AND OFF WHEN THERE WAS 40% OIL REMAINING, AND THEREFORE, I TOOK MY VEHICLE INTO FLETCHER JONES HONDA, WHICH IS WHERE I REGULARLY GO FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE SERVICE. THEN I RECEIVED HORRIFIC NEWS CONCERNING THE LIFE OF MY VEHICLE, WHICH IS IN NEED OF A BRAND NEW 3.5-LITER VTEC V6 ENGINE, WHICH WILL COSTS $12,372.87. THIS WAS ESPECIALLY ALARMING NEWS BECAUSE, MY VEHICLE IS ONLY SIX YEARS OLD AND I'VE ONLY HAVE HONDA TO SERVICE IT. ALSO, IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT THE FOLLOWING MAINTENANCE IS PERFORMED: TIMING BELT REPLACEMENT $565.39; CLUTCH ASSEMBLY $2,019.86; SPARK PLUGS REPLACEMENT $209.52 AND SYN POWER (EFI SERVICE/FUEL INJECTION CLEANING SERVICE $159.95,WHICH BRINGS MY OUT OF POCKET COSTS TO $15,327.59.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR BRAKE PADS NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED EVERY TIME A LEFT TURN WAS INTENDED. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000.

THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 123,000.
ENGINE NOISE FROM A COLD START. VTC ACTUATORS MAKES A RATTLING NOISE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2010 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 20 MPH, HE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE DRIVER IN VEHICLE THAT WAS REAR ENDED, SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES CAUSING THE CRASH. THE CONTACT SUFFERED FROM WHIPLASH AND A TORN ACHILLES TENDON. TWO OTHER PASSENGERS IN THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED BRUISES AND INFLAMMATION. ALL THREE INJURED REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND DEEMED DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM HONDA STATING THAT MY CAR MAY HAVE A DEFECT IN THE PISTONS, AND/OR PISTON RINGS THAT CAUSES EXCESSIVE OIL USAGE. AS A RESULT OF THIS HONDA WOULD DIAGNOSE AND REPAIR THE PROBLEM BUT ONLY UP TO 125,000 MILES. AT THE TIME I RECEIVED THE LETTER MY CAR HAD 150,000 MILES. I HAVE NOTICED EXCESSIVE OIL USAGE IN MY 2010 HONDA ACCORD WHEN COMPARED TO MY 2004 HONDA ACCORD WITH THE SAME 2.4 LITER 4 CYLINDER ENGINE. THE 2010 REQUIRES OIL FREQUENTLY BUT THE 2004 RARELY REQUIRES OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. I CALLED HONDA OF AMERICA ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS AND SPOKE TO 3 DIFFERENT PEOPLE AFTER I ASKED FOR MY CASE TO BE ESCALATED TO A HIGHER LEVEL. THEY HAVE REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING FOR ME. MY OPINION IS THAT NO MANUFACTURER SHOULD BE ABLE TO SHIRK THEIR DUTY TO REPAIR OR REPLACE A KNOWN DEFECT. ESPECIALLY WHEN I HAVE EVIDENCE THAT SHOWS THEIR ARBITRARY CHOICE OF EXTENDING THE ENGINE WARRANTY TO 125,000 MILES IS NONSENSE. MY 2004 ACCORD HAS MORE MILES THAN THE 2010 BUT DOESN'T REQUIRE OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. THAT TELLS ME THAT THE 2010 WITH FEWER MILES MAY SUFFER FROM THIS KNOWN DEFECT THAT HONDA HAS A RESPONSIBILITY TO REPAIR REGARDLESS OF THE MILES ON THE CAR.
WHEN STARTING THE CAR AT A COLD START, YOU HEAR A LOUD GRINDING NOISE SOUNDS FOR 2 OR 5 SECONDS. THERE IS A TSB 09-010 REGARDING A VTC ACTUATOR THAT DRAINS OF OIL AND IS NOT PROPERLY LUBED WHEN STARTING THE ENGINE COLD, CAUSING THE GRINDING NOISE UNTIL OIL REACHES THE PART AGAIN BUT HONDA REFUSES A RECALL ALTHOUGH THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE.
CAR CONSUMES OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. IT WILL TAKE 2-3 QUARTS OF MOTOR OIL BETWEEN SERVICING. FOUND NO OIL LEAK. OIL LEVELS CAN DROP REALLY LOW AND OIL LIGHT INDICATOR DOES NOT TURN ON. VEHICLE HAS A GRINDING NOISE FOR A FEW SECONDS ON A COLD START. VEHICLE COMPUTER WAS UPDATED/PROGRAMMED PREVIOUSLY BY HONDA TO ELIMINATE EXCESS OIL CONSUMPTION. VEHICLE STILL HAS EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE, AS WELL AS THE LOW OIL INDICATOR FAILING TO ILLUMINATE. OIL LIGHT INDICATOR CAN CAUSE EXCESSIVE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE IF THE OIL LEVEL IS LOW, BECAUSE IT FAILS TO WARN THE DRIVER WHEN THE OIL LEVEL IS LOW, ESPECIALLY SINCE THIS VEHICLE HAS AN EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE. THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND HONDA HAS FAILED TO RECALL VEHICLES FOR THIS ISSUE.
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION, CAUSING PLUGS TO FOUL AND DAMAGING COIL PACKS. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE IN THE LAST 12 MONTHS.
SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM INDICATOR WAS BLINKING ON AND OFF, NOW IT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME. DEALER SAID THAT THE SRS COMPUTER WAS NOT COMMUNICATION WITH THE RESISTANT SYSTEM AND THE FIRST STEP IS TO CHANGE THE SRS COMPUTER. IF THAT DOESN'T WORK, THE NEXT STEPS ARE TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG SENORS IN THE SEAT OR ANY SENSOR IN THAT SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM. THE INITIAL COST TO REPLACE THE SRS COMPUTER IS $746.28. DEALER SAID THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. REPAIR SCHEDULED FOR 21-OCT-2015. THE PROBLEM STARTED ON 10-OCT-2015.
CONSUMES A QUART EVERY 150 MILES HAH TO REPLACE SPARK PLUGS TWICE

EVERY TIME YOU PRESS ACCELERATOR AFTER A STOP, THE POWER DOOR LOCKS CLICK AND WILL KEEP LOCKING/UNLOCKING THE DOORS WHILE DRIVING. THIS COULD BE DANGEROUS WITH KIDS IN THE CAR. PLUS IT IS VERY ANNOYING WHILE DRIVING. JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE ONE DAY AGO. I HAVE READ WHERE MANY HONDA ACCORD OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM.
WHEN DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY ON MY WAY TO WORK THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. AFTER EXITING I CHECKED FOR ERROR CODES (AS I ALWAYS CARRY THE P-CODE READER WITH ME). THE CODE STATED THAT CYLINDER 3 WAS MISFIRING. I DOUBLE CHECKED ALL SPARK PLUGS TO MAKE SURE THE CONNECTIONS WERE OKAY. THE ENGINE LIGHT CONTINUED TO COME ON, WITH A ROUGH IDLE, AND ENGINE CODES STARTED TO BE MORE SPONTANEOUS AS IT STATED RANDOM MISFIRES/MULTIPLE CYLINDER MISFIRES. I TOOK MY CAR TO HONDA AND WAS TOLD THAT I LIKELY NEED TO REPLACE THE IGNITION COIL, SO I DID THAT AND STILL EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. I THEN TOOK IT TO A SHOP WHERE THEY ALSO SUSPECTED BAD IGNITION COILS. THEY THEN DID A VALVE ADJUSTMENT AND WAS POSITIVE THAT WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. AFTER PERFORMING THAT JOB, THE CAR CONTINUED WITH THE SAME ROUGH IDLE BUT ONLY POPULATED THE ERROR CODE STATING CYLINDER 3 IS MISFIRING. THEY TOOK OUT THE SPARK PLUG AND IGNITION COIL ON CYLINDER 3 AND DISCOVERED A CRACKED INTAKE VALVE. I'VE SPOKEN TO AT LEAST 10 SHOPS, 2 HONDA SERVICE DEALERSHIPS, AND 2 PERSONAL MECHANIC FRIENDS THAT ALL STATE THAT A BROKEN INTAKE VALVE AT 107K IS VERY UNUSUAL AND LIKELY A RESULT OF POOR DESIGN. I HAVE READ ABOUT THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FOR ALL V6 HONDA ACCORDS BETWEEN 2008-2012. UNFORTUNATELY THE 2010 V6 6 MT IS ONE OF THE FEW MODELS LEFT OUT OF THAT LAW SUIT. I HAVE ALREADY HAD A SHOP START ON THE REPAIRS AS I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO HAVE THEM DONE ASAP. I FIGURE AN UNLIKELY EVENT LIKE THIS IS DUE TO POOR ENGINE DESIGN SINCE I HAVE THOROUGHLY KEPT UP WITH ALL SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE (SPARK PLUGS, TIMING BELT, WATER PUMP, OIL CHANGE, ETC..). I FEEL THAT HONDA SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS 2000$ DOLLAR REPAIR.
PAINT STARTED TO CHIP AND IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. HONDA HAS BEEN CONTACTED AND WILL BE TAKING THE VEH TO THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE WHAT THEY SAY

DURING A RECENT INSPECTION, I WAS TOLD THAT MY BRAKES BARELY PASSED AND WOULD ONLY LAST APPROXIMATELY ANOTHER 3,000 MILES. I HAVE 17,000 MILES ON MY HONDA! I INHERITED THIS CAR LAST YEAR FROM MY UNCLE WHO PASSED. HE PURCHASED THE CAR NEW IN 2010 AND PUT LESS THAN 4,000 MILES ON IT IN 4 YEARS. I HEARD THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES OF CERTAIN YEARS ON ACCORDS, INCLUDING THE ONE I HAVE. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT HONDA WOULD FIX THIS AS A COURTESY TO OWNERS BECAUSE THERE WERE SO MANY COMPLAINTS. IN 2015, THIS IS NO LONGER AN OPTION. AT NO POINT HAS HONDA RECALLED THE VEHICLE. HOW CAN THEY GET AWAY WITH PUTTING SUCH CHEAP PRODUCTS ON A VEHICLE THAT COSTS MORE THAN 30K? THIS IS A LAWSUIT WAITING TO HAPPEN. I WILL FIGHT THIS AND MAKE SUCH A BIG STINK UNTIL THIS PROBLEM IS CLEARED. AT NO POINT SHOULD I HAVE TO PAY TO REPLACE BRAKES AT 17,000 MILES. THIS IS ABSURD. WHAT CAN I DO AT THIS POINT?

6/9/15, AND 5/20/16--HONDA REPLACED RT FRONT AXLE IST TIME 5/20/16 TAKING IT IN FOR EXACT SAME REASON??!! NO ACCIDENTS OR TRAUMA, SHOOK BAD. NOTICED ON LINE OTHERS WITH A CROSSTOUR HAS HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM. SHAKING ON FREEWAYS WHEN SLOWDOWN ESPECIALLY. IF I NEED REPLACEMENT-IT SHOULD BE COVERED BUT WHAT IS CAUSING THIS WITHIN A YEAR???? SCARY. THIS MUST BE LOOKED INTO AS A RECALL-I HAVE HAD MANY CARS NEVER EVER AN AXEL PROBLEM EVER ON EVEN OLDER CARS.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,370.
THE PAST TWO TIMES I HAVE BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE OIL LEVEL IS BELOW THE DIPSTICK. BOTH TIMES I HAVE BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE WITH 20% OIL LIFE SHOWING. SHIFTING FROM 2ND TO 3RD SOMETIMES GETS "BLOCKED". THAT IS THE ONLY WAY I CAN DESCRIBE IT, YOU GO TO SHIFT AND CANT GET INTO GEAR, EITHER HAVE TO GO BACK TO 2ND OR BACK TO NEUTRAL AND THEN BACK IN. THE "DOUBLE PUMP SHIFT" USUALLY WORKS. I HAVE ALSO HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE SPEAKER DECK RATTLING WHICH I HAD SUPPOSEDLY FIXED UNDER WARRANTY BUT ONLY TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.
RECEIVED NOTICE FROM HONDA STATING ENGINE WARRANTY EXTENDED TO 120K MILES DUE TO OIL CONSUMPTION, ATTEMPTED TO HAVE VEHICLE SERVICE FOR OIL CONSUMPTION TESTS AT LOCAL DEALER (MISTLIN HONDA, MODESTO CA.) WAS DENIED BY SERVICE WRITER DUE TO NOT HAVING A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON, I ASKED WHY WOULD AN ENGINE LIGHT GO ON IF I KEEP TOPPING OFF OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES (1-2 QUARTS) HE STATED UNFORTUNATELY HE COULDN'T SERVICE IT WITH OUT A LIGHT BEING ON. TO MY UNDERSTANDING I DON'T SEE HOW A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL BE ACTIVATED IF ENGINE IS BURNING OIL, UNLESS THE ENGINE HAS GOTTEN DAMAGED DUE TO NOT HAVING ANY OIL.
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION WITH EARLY REPLACEMENT OF SPARK PLUGS IN 2010 HONDA ACCORD V6. ALL SPARK PLUGS WERE REPLACED AROUND 65K MILES DUE TO AN "COMPUTER ISSUE" ACCORDING TO MY LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP. I WAS INFORMED AT THE TIME THAT THE WARRANTY HAD BEEN EXTENDED TO COVER THE COMPUTER ISSUE NOT AN OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE. WAS ALSO INFORMED THE ISSUE WAS FIXED. THE OIL IS NOW CHANGED EVERY 3K MILES (WHICH DIFFERS FROM RECOMMENDATIONS FROM HONDA TO CHANGE THE OIL ACCORDING TO THE MAINTENANCE MINDER VARYING BETWEEN 4K AND 5K MILES) AND HAVING TO ADD .5 TO A FULL QUART OF OIL EVERY THOUSAND MILES. THERE HAVE BEEN NO OIL STAINS WHERE I PARK ON A REGULAR BASIS, LEADING TO BELIEVE IT IS NOT LEAKING BUT BURNING OR BEING CONSUMED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ON MULTIPLE TIMES AND USUALLY PULLS THE CODE THAT A CYLINDER IS MISFIRING. THE OIL LIGHT NEVER COMES ON EVEN WHEN THE OIL BARLEY READS ON THE DIP STICK. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR OVER 2 YEARS.

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A FRACTURED FOOT, CRACKED STERNUM, BRUISING ON THE RIGHT LUNG AND CHEST, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,000.
I BOUGHT MY CAR NEW IN 2010 HONDA ACCORD 4 CYLINDER. I HAD BEEN TAKING MY CAR TO GET THE OIL CHANGED ON A REGULAR BASIS TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP. SINCE BEGINNING OF THIS YEAR, MY CAR STARTED MAKING NOISE SO IT TOOK IT TO DEALER TO CHECK THE REASON. HE TOLD THAT ME THAT MY CAR IS OUT OF OIL EVEN THOUGH INDICATOR SAY OIL LEVEL IS 70% AND THAT IS THE REASON FOR IT'S MAKING SOUND. HE TOLD ME THAT HE COULD NOT DETECT THE ISSUE AND BRING IT ONE MORE TIME. HE TEMPORARILY FIXED THE ISSUE BY FILLING THE OIL. IT AGAIN HAPPENED AFTER A MONTH AND HE AGAIN FILLED IN OIL BUT HE CHARGED ME THIS TIME FOR FILLING THE OIL. HE SAID THAT WE WILL NEED TO DO "OIL CONSUMPTION" TEST AS HE DOESN'T SEE ANY LEAKAGE EITHER. THIS IS REALLY SCARY TO ME WHEN I SEE THAT THERE IS ALREADY CLASS SUIT AGAINST HONDA FOR THE SAME REASON BUT THAT'S APPLICABLE FOR 6 CYLINDERS ENGINE AND NOT FOR 4 CYLINDERS. WHEN I ASKED THE DEALER ABOUT IT, HE SIMPLY DENIED ANY LAWSUIT OR CLASS ACTION OR RECALL FOR ACCORD 2010. IT'S DEFECT IN A CAR BUT NEITHER HONDA ACCEPT IT OR DEALER AGREES TO IT. HOWEVER, I'M SPENDING MY MONEY AND TIME TO FILL IN THE OIL EVERY MONTH AFTER ONLY 1000 MILES. IT'S RIDICULOUS AND FRUSTRATING AS WELL.
