EXPERIENCING INTERMITTENT STARTING ISSUES. CAR USUALLY TAKES MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO START. USUALLY ON AROUND THE THIRD OR FOURTH ATTEMPT IT STARTS, BUT HAS TAKEN UP TO 10-12 ATTEMPTS OR MORE TO START. KEYED IGNITION, NOT PUSH BUTTON. WHEN IT FAILS TO START, ENGINE DOESN'T CRANK AT ALL, THERE IS JUST ONE SINGLE 'CLICK' SOUND. TOOK IT TO THE HONDA DEALER, THEY SAID IT'S MOST LIKELY A BAD STARTER AND QUOTED AROUND $700 TO REPLACE THE STARTER. THE CAR ONLY HAS 35K MILES, WHICH SEEMS VERY LOW MILES TO HAVE STARTER ISSUES. AFTER LOOKING AT ALL THE OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE, I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL TO ADDRESS THIS, AS THIS IS CLEARLY A SYSTEMIC PROBLEM. MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER AND WIFE BOTH DRIVE THIS CAR, AND I'M VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS ISSUE CAUSING THEM TO BE STRANDED SOMEWHERE. THAT'S DEFINITELY A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. IT ALSO DOESN'T SEEM FAIR FOR ME TO HAVE TO PAY $700 TO REPAIR AN ISSUE THAT IS CLEARLY DUE TO A FAULTY PART, JUST TO A HAVE A CAR THAT STARTS WHEN IT'S SUPPOSED TO. ALL THOSE PEOPLE WHO HAVE PAID TO HAVE THE STARTER ISSUES FIXED SHOULD BE REIMBURSED BY HONDA TOO.
I NOTICE COUPLE OF WEEK AGO THAT MY CAR WOULD NOT START ON THE FIRST PUSH BUTTON PRESS. THE COST HONDA DEALER GAVE ME FOR THE REPAIR WAS $755.00. I CALLED HIM BACK THE NEXT DAY TO INFORM HIM ABOUT ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE STARTER FOR THIS MAKE AND MODEL. I'VE READ AND PLAIN AS DAY HE SAY HONDA HAS NO REPORTS ABOUT THIS BEING A ON GOING ISSUES. I ALSO CALL THE HONDA CUSTOMER CARE LINE, AND AFTER BEING PLACE ON HOLD SEVERAL TIMES, I RECEIVED THE SAME ANSWER.
THERE WAS A BATTERY ELECTRICAL SENSOR RECALLED IN WHICH I HAVE ALREADY REPLACED BUT NOW THE MECHANIC IS SAYING THERE IS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITH THE STARTER SENSOR DELAYS. MY CAR HAS 75K AND TAKES 6 OR SO TIMES TO START WHEN PUSHING THE START BUTTON. THERE APPEARS TO BE A LARGE COMMUNITY OF 2013-2014 HONDA ACCORD OWNERS EXPERIENCING THE SAME THING AND NEEDING TO BE REPLACED EVERY 20K THEREAFTER. PLEASE ISSUE A RECALL. WITH HAVING A BABY IN THE CAR, I CANNOT AFFORD TO BECOME STRANDED IN THE HEAT, NOT TO MENTION THE HIGH EXPENSE THIS COSTS WITH NO GUARANTEE IT WILL NOT NEED TO BE FIXED AGAIN AFTER 20K MILES. LONG TIME HONDA OWNER WHO DOES NOT WANT TO SWITCH BRANDS BUT NEEDS SAFETY AND INTEGRITY TO BE TOP PRIORITY FROM A CAR MANUFACTURER.
VEHICLE HAS INTERMITTENT STARING ISSUES. BATTERY, STARTER AND ALTERNATOR ALL TEST GOOD AND NO CODES APPEAR IN VEHICLES COMPUTER. VEHICLE WILL START AND THEN THE NEXT TIME WON'T. ISSUE FIRST APPEARED WITHIN A YEAR OF OWNERSHIP, AND BATTERY WAS REPLACED THEN AND STILL AN ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WILL SOMETIMES SIT OVER NIGHT OR WHILE OUT RUNNING ERRANDS.
I TURNED MY CAR ON ONE DAY AND THE LIGHT WITH THE CAR AND A SQUIGGLY LINE UNDER STARTED FLASHING THEN MOMENTS LATER THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT WITH THE EXCLAMATION MARK CAME ON THEN WEEKS FOLLOWING THE STEERING WHEEL LIGHT WITH THE ! CAME ON. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE TIRE PLACE TO CHECK AND THEY SAID NOTHING IS WRONG AND AFTER MONTHS OF GOING BACK ALMOST WEEKLY AT THIS POINT ONE OF THE TECHS SAYS HE HEARD OTHER HONDA ACCORD'S WERE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND THAT IT MAY BE A FALSE READING. THEN AFTER SOME WEEKS MY ABS AND BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. AT FIRST IT WAS ONLY IN THE AFTERNOON OR LATER THESE LIGHT WOULD COME ON BUT NOW IT'S WHENEVER. SOMETIMES THEY GO OFF AFTER I START DRIVING BUT THEN THEY EVENTUALLY COME BACK ON. I LOOKED ON GOOGLE AND IT APPEARS THIS HAS HAPPENED TO OTHERS STATING THERE WAS SOME KIND OF FAULTY BOX THINGY THAT IS USED TO COMMUNICATE BETWEEN THE LIGHTS GOING OFF AND THE CAR. I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO GET SOMEONE TO DO ALL OF THIS AND IF THERE ARE OTHERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM DID HONDA USE A FAULTY PART AS OTHERS ARE SAYING? PLEASE HELP
PROBLEM STARTING ENGINE. SOME TIMES IT WOULD START WITHOUT A PROBLEM. OTHER TIMES IT WOULD SIMPLY CLICK AND NOT START. AFTER TRYING TO START MULTIPLE TIMES, IT USUALLY WOULD FINALLY START. REPLACED THE STARTER. NO DIFFERENCE. TESTED THE ORIGINAL STARTER AND IT TESTED GOOD. PUT THE ORIGINAL STARTER BACK IN THE VEHICLE. WAS TOLD BY THE PARTS STORE THAT THERE HAD BEEN MULTIPLE PROBLEMS JUST LIKE THIS.
ABOUT A WEEK AGO I CALLED AAA FOR SERVICE FOR MY 2014 ACCORD. IT WOULD NOT START. THE TECHNICIAN CHECKED THE BATTERY AND FOUND IT TO BE FINE. HE THEN TRIED TO START THE CAR AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. WE DROVE HOME AND HAD NO PROBLEMS FOR SEVERAL DAYS UNTIL LAST SATURDAY WHEN MY WIFE RETURNED TO THE CAR WITH GROCERIES AND UNCOUNTED THE SAME PROBLEM. MY WIFE IS 87 AND WITH THE HIGH HEAT AND PERISHABLES IT WAS NOT A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE. AGAIN, AFTER CALLING MY SON FOR AID, THE CAR FINALLY STARTED AND WE PLANNED A MONDAY VISIT TO YOUR ENTERPRISE. SINCE MY WIFE HAD A DOCTORS APPOINTMENT AT NOON, WE PRAYED THAT THE CAR WOULD START FOR THE TRIP TO THE DOCTOR'S AND THEN FOR THE DRIVE TO THE DEALERSHIP.IT STARTED FOR THE FIRST TRIP AND THEN AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES FOR THE SECOND TRIP TO. A CAR THAT MAY OR MAY NOT START CAN PLACE PEOPLE IN DANGER AND SHOULD BE VIEWED AS A SAFETY ISSUE.
THE PUSH BUTTON START IS NOT WORKING. POWER COMES ON BUT THE CAR DOES NOT TURN OVER. SOMETIMES IT WORKS AFTER THE THIRD OR FOURTH TIME. SOMETIMES I SAY A LITTLE PRAY.
PUSH BUTTON START NOT WORKING. STARTER IS DYING. TAKES THREE TO FOUR PUSH BUTTON STARTS TO START CAR. LESS THAN 50,000 MILES ON THE CAR.
I PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE FROM A 3RD PARTY. BEFORE BUYING IT, THE BUYER REPLACED THE STARTER THE SAME DAY I PURCHASE THE CAR BASED ON HIS MECHANIC RECOMMENDATION. HE EXPLAIN TO ME THAT HE HAD PROBLEMS STARTING THE CAR WHEN ITS IN PARK, SOMETIME IT WORKED THE FIRST TIME, BUT SOMETIME IT HAD TO PUSH THE BOTTOM UP TO 5 TIMES AND PUSH THE BRAKE REALLY HARD. ABOUT 3 WEEKS LATER, THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO ME, THE CAR WILL NOT START, IT MAKES A GRINDING SOUND, THEN START DOING IT MORE OFTEN SO I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC AND HE RECOMMENDED CALL THE BUYER AND ASK HIS MECHANIC TO REPLACE IT AGAIN AND SEE IF IT WILL FIX THE PROBLEM. AFTER THE SECOND REPLACEMENT 2 WEEKS LATER IT DID IT AGAIN, AND IT BEEN DOING IT FOR THE LAST 2 MONTHS SINCE I PURCHASE THE CAR. IT SEEMS LIKE THIS IS NOT THE "STARTER" IT HAS TO BE ANOTHER ELECTRICAL PROBLEM, AND BASED ON THE COMPLAINTS, IT SEEMS LIKE IS THE SAME PROBLEM, BUT NO SOLUTION. PLEASE RECALL THIS PROBLEM BEFORE THE CAR DON'T START AT ALL.
WHILE DRIVING AT SLOW SPEEDS, 20 MPH OR LESS, CAR DIES AND THEN RESTARTS ON IT'S OWN. TWICE WHILE TURNING AND ONCE AFTER THE CAR WAS IN PARK.
STARTER FAILURE. SOMETIMES THE CAR WOULD START ON INITIAL TRY. OTHER TIMES THE CAR WOULD NOT START ON THE INITIAL TRY. IT WOULD JUST CLICK. I NEVER KNEW WHEN IT WOULD HAPPEN.
CAR WILL FAIL TO START. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. IF THE CAR STALLS AND WON'T RESTART DEPENDING ON LOCATION, EG HIGHWAY, IT COULD BE A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD. MY 2014 HONDA ACCORD HAS INTERMITTENT STARTER PROBLEMS. SOMETIMES IT STARTS FINE, OTHER TIMES THE LIGHTS ALL GO ON BUT NOTHING ELSE HAPPENS. WHEN IT WON'T START TURNING THE CAR OFF AND TRYING AGAIN USUALLY WORKS. I CAN ALSO GET IT TO START BY LEAVING THE KEY TURNED TO THE START POSITION AND PUMPING THE CLUTCH. THIS INDICATES THE IGNITION SWITCH IS OK AND THE CLUTCH START SENSOR SWITCH IS OK. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY SAY THEY HAVE REPLACED A BUNCH OF STARTERS BUT THERE IS NO RECALL. THEY WANT $800 TO REPLACE THE STARTER. A WEB SEARCH INDICATES THE STARTER IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR 2014 ACCORDS. WHEN IS THE RECALL? I NEED TO GET THIS FIXED. HOW DO I GET RE-REIMBURSED IF I HAVE THIS FIXED BEFORE THE RECALL?
MY 2014 HONDA ACCORD PLUG IN HAS STALLED TWICE WHILE DRIVING (ONCE ON THE FREEWAY AND ONCE IN THE MIDDLE OF A SANTA MONICA BOULEVARD). NO WARNING LIGHTS OR NOISES TO GIVE ME THE FYI THAT IT'S STALLING, IT JUST SUDDENLY STARTS TO SLOW AND IF I PRESS ON THE GAS PEDAL IT COMPRESSES TO THE FLOOR WITH EASE...IT ALSO SHOWS ME IN EV MODE WHEN THE CAR HAS NO EV CHARGE REMAINING. IT'S LIKE IT'S IN LIMP MODE. TURNING THE CAR OFF AND TURNING IT BACK ON AGAIN FIXES THE ISSUE, BUT WHEN I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER (TWICE) THEY HAVE PULLED THE COMPUTER AND HAVE FOUND NO RECORDS ON THE CAR. THEY SAY IT'S "AS IF THE CAR HAS NEVER BEEN DRIVEN BEFORE".
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR AT 65 MILES PER HOUR, VEHICLE AUTO BRAKED SUDDENLY CAUSING CAR FROM BEHIND TO NEAR MISS MY REAR OF MY VEHICLE. CAR THE ALARMED ON ABS, STABILITY CONTROL, LANE DEPARTURE, FORWARD COLLISION, ADAPTIVE CRUISE, BRAKING, POWER STEERING, VEHICLE STABILITY AND HILL START PROBLEM. TOOK CAR TO MIDDLETOWN HONDA OF NY. DEALER IDENTIFIED PROBLEM AS VSA MODULE FAILURE. COST TO REPLACE IS $1550.00 PLUS LABOR. VSA MODULE FAILURE IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND SHOULD BE IDENTIFIED AS A SAFETY RECALL. CAR THAT NEARLY HIT ME WAS DRIVEN BY OFF DUTY POLICE OFFICER WHO WAS NOT HAPPY. TOOK CAR IMMEDIATELY TO DEALER FOR SERVICE. DEALER DID NOT HAVE PART TO CORRECT PROBLEM. DEALER DEMANDED THAT CAR REMAIN AT DEALER DUE TO BEING UNSAFE TO DRIVE. DEALER WAS KIND ENOUGH TO GIVE ME A LOANER CAR UNTIL REPAIRS CAN BE MADE. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUES!
A FEW WEEKS AGO, OUR 2014 HONDA ACCORD LX, WOULD NOT CONSISTENTLY START. I TOOK IT TO TWO DIFFERENT AUTO-SHOPS, INCLUDING THE DEALERSHIP. THE FIRST AUTO SHOP COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG. THEY SAID THEY STARTED THE CAR ~100 TIMES AND THE CAR STARTED EVERY TIME. I THEN TOOK THE CAR TO A DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS THE STARTER. I REPLACED THE STARTER AND THE CAR STARTED UP FINE. A COUPLE OF DAYS AFTER FIXING THE CAR, THE CAR DID NOT START. THE BATTERY WAS TESTED AND IS OKAY. OUR CAR WAS TOWED TO A TRUSTED MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC SAID THAT THE STARTER WAS FINE AND THAT HE SUSPECTS THE ORIGINAL DID NOT NEED REPLACEMENT. HE SAID THERE'S SOME SORT OF ELECTRICAL ISSUE, BUT COULD NOT FIGURE OUT EXACTLY WHERE THE ISSUE IS. HE SAID IT MUST BE SOMEWHERE BETWEEN THE IGNITION AND STARTER. OUR LEAVING THE CAR WITH HIM SO THAT HE CAN HAVE OTHER TECHNICIANS INSPECT IT.
WHEN I HAD OIL CHANGED THERE WAS NO OIL SHOWING ON DIP STICK. CAR ONLY HAS 65000 MILES
STARTER IS FAILING FROM TIME TO TIME. WHEN USING PUSH-BUTTON START, SOMETIMES THE STARTER MAKES A STRONG GRINDING NOISE AND DOES NOT START THE VEHICLE. IT WILL SOMETIMES DO THIS FOR ONE, TWO, OR THREE ATTEMPTS IN A ROW. EVENTUALLY, THE STARTER WILL WORK. I'M AFRAID THE STARTER WILL EVENTUALLY FAIL COMPLETELY. CAR HAS LESS THAN 75,000 MILES.
VEHICLE ONLY HAS 40000 MILES ON IT AND ALL ROTORS ARE WARPED AND THE VOLUME TUNER KNOB WILL TURN THE VOLUME UP WHEN YOU TRY TO TURN IT DOWN
REAR VIEW CAMERA DISPLAY SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING. GUIDELINES ARE THERE BUT NO REAR PICTURE. DEALER SAYS ITS A BAD CAMERA BUT MAY BE A PLOY TO MAK SOME MONEY.
STARTER SYSTEM FAILED TO START THE ENGINE. IT TURNED ON ELECTRICAL BUT WOULD NOT START THE CAR. THE LIGHTS TURNED ON AND THERE WAS ONE CLICK BUT NOTHING ELSE DESPITE REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO START THE CAR. LEFT ME STRANDED.
2014 HONDA ACCORD START ISSUE I PURCHASED THE CAR ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO AND AT THE TIME IT ONLY HAD ABOUT 30K MILES. THE STARTER DIED AFTER ABOUT 62K MILES. THE HONDA DEALERSHIP CHARGED ME $840 TO HAVE IT REPLACED. AFTER IT WAS REPLACED I FOUND OUT THAT OTHER PEOPLE HAD ISSUES WITH STARTER ONLY AFTER 3K EVEN WHEN THE CARS WERE UNDER WARRANTY. THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST HONDA FOR THE ACCORD FOR YEARS 2013-2015. HONDA NEW THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE STARTER HAS FAILED TO DO A RECALL ON THE CAR. THERE IS NO WAY THAT MY STARTER SHOULD HAVE FAILED SO SOON.
REAR TIRE WEAR CONSISTENT WITH SUSPENSION ISSUE. REAR TIRES WITH NORMAL TREAD WEAR ARE CHUCKED AND CAUSING VIBRATION. CURRENTLY RUNNING GOODYEAR EAGLE LS-2 TIRES AND THIS IS THE SECOND SET THAT HAVE FAILED IN THIS MANNER.
HEADLIGHTS KEEP BLOWING AND CAR WILL NOT START GUESSING IT'S THE STARTER. I THINK THE WIRES KEEP BLOWING THE LIGHTS OUT.
I TOOK MY CAR TO OIL CHANGE SERVICE AT HONDA DEALERSHIP. THE NEXT DAY MY CAR WON'T START. I HAD TO CALL AAA TO JUMP START MY CAR. 5 DAYS LATER, IT DIED AGAIN. CALLED AAA TO JUMP START IT AGAIN. I TOOK IT TO HONDA DEALERSHIP TO GET IT INSPECTED. I PAID THEM $100+ JUST FOR THEM TO SAY, "EVERYTHING LOOKS FINE TO ME". 5 DAYS LATER, IT DIED AGAIN. TO WHICH AT THIS POINT, I WOULD RATHER NOT DRIVE IT AGAIN UNTIL A RECALL HAPPENS. THIS IS UNSAFE ESPECIALLY IF YOU GET STRANDED SOMEWHERE.
THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING MY 2014 HONDA ACCORD. MORE SPECIFICALLY, I WAS DRIVING OUT OF A MALL'S PARKING LOT. THERE ARE ONLY 85,636 MILES ON THE CAR AND THE CAR WAS MADE IN AMERICA IN JANUARY 2014. PRIOR TO THIS EVENT, THERE WEREN'T ANY ISSUES OR ALERTS REGARDING THE TRANSMISSION.
2014 HONDA ACCORD LX 2.4 CAR HAS BEEN BURNING EXCESS OIL OF ABOUT 1 QUART PER 500 MILES. LOW PRESSURE OIL LIGHT HAS COME ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS WITH CAR STALLING. THIS HAPPENED AFTER RELATIVELY SHORT INTERVALS BETWEEN OIL CHANGES AND ADDS. TAILPIPE HAS EXCESSIVE CARBON BUILDUP. REPLACED PCV VALVE AND ISSUE CONTINUES. CAR ONLY HAS 100K MILES ON IT. DEALERS ARE OF NO HELP AND DESCRIBE THE PROBLEM HAS NORMAL. HONDA HAS A RECALL ON OLDER MODEL (2008-2011) MODELS SO IT APPEARS THEY HAVE NOT FIXED THEIR ENGINE PROBLEMS. THERE ARE 1000S OF COMPLAINTS ON THE WEB ABOUT THIS ISSUE. IT'S TIME THAT HONDA RECALLS THESE VEHICLES. I'M SURE THERE ARE A LOT OF UNSUSPECTING DRIVERS OUT THERE WHO ARE UNAWARE OF THIS THAT COULD HAVE A CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE . I WAS TOTALLY UNAWARE. OF THE PROBLEM UNTIL LOW PRESSURE LIGHT FLICKERED . WHEN I CHECKED OIL IT WAS BONE DRY. PLEASE READ THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS . THIS IS NOT NORMAL FOR CARS IN THIS AGE RANGE .
CAR DOES NOT START RELIABLY AND WHEN IT DOES, LIGHTS DIM UPON ENGAGING THE POWER STEERING TO TURN, THE RADIO GOES ON AND OFF WHILE THE CAR IS RUNNING AND THE CAR NEARLY DIES WHILE STOPPED AT A LIGHT WITH THE AC RUNNING.THERE ARE COUNTLESS SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ONLINE TO WARRANT A RECALL. EITHER THE BATTERY HARNESS IS DEFECTIVE OR THE HONDA ACCORD IN GENERAL HAS MAJOR ELECTRICAL ISSUES STARTING AS EARLY AS 35,000 MILES.THE BATTERY, STARTER & ALTERNATOR HAVE BEEN TESTED AND RULED OUT AS DEFECTIVE. THIS IS A COMPLETELY UNRELIABLE CAR THAT COULD DIE IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL RECALLS ON THE BATTERY-ADJUSTING SOFTWARE AND SOME ISSUE WITH MOISTURE INCREASING RISK OF FIRE.
HONDA ACCORD 2014 FAILS TO START AFTER MULTIPLE TRIES, THEN WORKS OUT OF THE BLUE. I AM WORRIED IT WILL LEAVE ME STRANDED ONE IF THESE DAYS. MY CAR IS ONLY 33K MILES. HONDA NEEDS TO DO A RECALL. WE SHOULD ALL FILE A PETITION AGAINST HONDA STARTER ISSUES. I SEE MULTIPLE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS.
ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO MY 2014 HONDA ACCORD WOULD NOT START ON THE FIRST TRY. MY CAR WAS STATIONARY, AND I WOULD NEED TO PRESS THE PUSH BUTTON START SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE IT STARTED. LUNDGREN HONDA IN AUBURN MASSACHUSETTS SAID I NEEDED A NEW STARTER. I DID NOT EXPECT A STARTER TO FAIL ON A CAR WITH 43K MILES, AND I'VE READ ONLINE THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE ESPECIALLY WITH THE 2013 AND 2014 ACCORDS. I PAID FOR THE NEW STARTER SINCE I DID NOT WANT TO BE STRANDED IF THE CAR WOULDN'T START. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH HONDA NORTH AMERICA BUT THEY SAID THE STARTER IS NOT AN ISSUE AND THERE IS NO NEED FOR A RECALL. I'M CONCERNED THAT THERE HAVE BEEN SO MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE HONDA STARTERS WITHOUT A RECALL AND IT POSES A SAFETY RISK IF PEOPLE ARE STRANDED BY A PART THAT FAILS PREMATURELY. VEHICLE STARTS SPORADICALLY. VEHICLE HAS KEY IGNITION. ONLY ONE CLICK WHEN TURNING KEY. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM TURNS ON IE. LIGHTS, RADIO ETC. IT WILL START SOMETIMES AFTER A FEW TURNS OF THE KEY. SOMETIMES NOT AT ALL. BATTERY TESTED FINE, ALTERNATOR SYSTEM TESTED FINE, IGNITION SWITCH IS FINE, FUSES ARE FINE. FAULTY STARTER. EMERGENCY SERVICE PROVIDED BY INSURANCE COMPANY ATTEMPTED TO JUMP VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. NEEDED TO BE TOWED. STARTED AFTER 5 OR 6 ATTEMPTS FOLLOWING DAY. NOW IT TAKES NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS EVERY TIME. FAULTY STARTER NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS. HONDA NEEDS TO RECALL.
THE YAW SENSOR WENT OUT ON THE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM, OUT TAKING EVERYTHING WITH IT'ABS, STABILITY CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION, LAIN WATCH, AND THE POWER STARING MONITOR. YOU COULD FEEL THE ABS MOTOR WORKING FOR NO REASON EVEN WITHOUT BRAKING. HONDA REPLACED THE ABS CONTROL MODULE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. MY CONCERN IS AS EXPENSIVE AS IT WAS, I'M WORRIED OTHERS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO AFFORD THE FIX AND WE WILL HAVE OTHER CARS OUT THERE WITHOUT THE BASIC SAFETY SYSTEMS IN PLACE.
GRINDING NOISE AT START UP. HAD TO REPLACE STARTER AT GREAT COST
SINCE NOV.2018 I HAVE THE STARTER PROBLEM. WITH IGNITION KEY IN EITHER THE LIGHTS COME UP - NO TURNING, OR IS GRINDS AND DIES (GARAGE). I REPLACED THE BATTERY THINKING IT IS THE BATTERY PROBLEM (VOLTAGE ~ 12.2 V). MILEAGE ABOUT 52K. WITH NEW BATTERY I EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM 2-3 TIMES AGAIN (PARKING LOT). LAST TIME: MAY 2019 - NO LIGHTS, THE STARTED DOES NOT TURN. BATTERY WAS 13.4 V. MILEAGE 58K.
I BELIEVE HONDA IS CHEATING ON THEIR EMISSIONS CERTIFICATIONS MY CAR. MY CAR HAS A CALIFORNIA: PZEV EMISSION CERTIFICATION WHICH CONTINUES FOR 15 YEARS OR 150,000 MILES, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. I PURCHASED THIS PZEV CAR THINKING IT WOULD BE GOOD FOR OUR ENVIRONMENT. MY CAR HAS BEEN WELL CARED FOR, HAS 28,XXX MILES ON IT, AND IS CURRENTLY CONSUMING ENGINE OIL AT THE RATE OF ABOUT ONE QUART EVERY 3,000 MILES. I HAVE BEEN TO WALNUT CREEK HONDA COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION, AND THEY TELL ME TO CONTINUE ADDING OIL UNTIL THE OIL CONSUMPTION RATE INCREASES TO ONE QUART EVERY 500 MILES. ENOUGH-IS-ENOUGH! THE INTERNET. THE INTERNET IS FULL OF POSTINGS FROM OTHER ANGRY HONDA OWNERS COMPLAINING ABOUT EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION OF UP TO ONE QUART EVERY THOUSAND MILES AND HONDA SAYS THIS IS NORMAL AND REFUSED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR CORRECTING HONDAS PROBLEM. DISCUSSION. PZEV MEANS PARTIAL ZERO EMISSIONS VEHICLE AND I BELIEVE MY CAR ALSO MEETS THE LOW EMISSIONS VEHICLE (LEV) TAILPIPE-EMISSION STANDARDS. EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION UNNECESSARILY INCREASES AIR POLLUTION AS EVIDENCED BY THE COATING OF BLACK SOOT ON THE INSIDES OF MY CARS TAIL PIPE. CONCLUSION. I BELIEVE THAT HONDA IS CHEATING ON THEIR EMISSIONS CERTIFICATIONS BY DESIGNING AND BUILDING ENGINES THAT EARLY IN THEIR USEFUL LIFE DEVELOP EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION AND HONDA IS REFUSING TO CORRECT THEIR DESIGN DEFECT UNTIL IT REACHES ONE QUART OF OIL BURNED (CREATING UNNECESSARY AIR POLLUTION) EVERY 500 MILES DRIVEN. MY FRIEND FRANK HAS A 2003 HONDA ACCORD WITH 85,XXX MILES THAT USES ALMOST ZERO OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES, SO HONDA DEFINITELY KNOWS HOW TO MAKE ENGINES THAT DO NOT BURN OIL.
I'VE CONTACTED MY LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP AS WELL AS CORPORATE HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH THE ISSUE OF THE PAINT PEELING OFF AT THE RAIN CHANNELS AT THE REAR WINDSHIELD. THEY SAID THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON THIS ISSUE SO THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO, I DID SOME RESEARCH AND SAW THAT I AM NOT THE FIRST OR THE ONLY PERSON WITH THIS PROBLEM. HONDA TELLS ME IT'S DUE TO THE TYPE OF WASH FLUID I'M USING AS WELL AS BIRD DROPPINGS AND TREE SAP HOWEVER, I WASH THE VEHICLE REGULARLY LIKE ALL OTHER VEHICLES I'VE OWNED, ALL UNDER THE SAME WASHING AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS, AND THIS IS THE ONLY VEHICLE THIS HAS HAPPENED ON. THE PAINT IS PEELING IS MAKING ITS WAY UP THE CHANNEL AND WHEN IT REACHES THE TOP IT'S GOING PEEL MUCH FASTER AROUND THE VEHICLE. THERE IS ALSO A FACEBOOK GROUP (HONDA PAINT DEFECT ACTION GROUP) AS AN EXAMPLE WITH ALMOST 2,000 PEOPLE WITH THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM IN THE SAME EXACT LOCATION. THAT IS NOT A COINCIDENCE. *TR
PUSH BUTTON START DOES NOT WORK INTERMITTENTLY. IT WILL GO THROUGH START SEQUENCE BUT DOES NOT TURN OVER ENGINE. HAVE TO WAIT A PERIOD OF TIME TO START OR TRY MULTIPILE TIMES UNTIL TURNS OVER. I HAVE BEEN STRANDED IN PARKING LOTS SEVERAL TIMES. ON REVIEW OF INTERNET I SEE THAT THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL AND YEAR.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE 2013 HONDA ACCORD FOR SIMILAR ISSUES. THE VEHICLE WILL AT TIMES NOT START AND ONLY MAKE A GRINDING NOISE WHEN DEPRESSING THE START BUTTON, THIS STILL OCCURRING AFTER CHANGING THE BATTERY AND STARTER TWICE IN ADDITION TO THE FOB BATTERY. I SPECULATE THAT THE BRAKING SYSTEM MAY CONTRIBUTE TO THIS ISSUE AS SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL START AFTER PUMPING/PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL A FEW TIMES OR JUST HOLDING IT AFTER INITIAL ATTEMPT TO START THE CAR (VERY FRUSTRATING). NEW ISSUE INVOLVES THE CAR STARTING WHILE ONLY PRESSING THE BRAKE AND MOVING THE GEAR SHIFTER (DANGEROUS AS A KID CAN START THE VEHICLE WITHOUT PRESSING THE START BUTTON). HAVE REPORTED THE ISSUE TO HONDA (LOCAL/CALIFORNIA MAIN) AND SPOKE TO A HONDA REPRESENTATIVE YESTERDAY (5/7/2019) TO NO AVAIL. PLEASE ISSUES A RECALL FOR THESE CARS HAVING THIS ISSUE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT, OR WORSE, LOOSES THEIR LIVES. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS AND IS ALMOST ON A DAILY BASIS, LAST EVEN WAS TODAY.
MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED WITH THE ENGINE SHUT OFF AND OUT OF NOWHERE WHEN I WENT TO START IT IT WOULDN'T START I TRIED MAYBE JUMPING IT BUT IT WASN'T WORKING SO I HAD TO GET IT TOWED. AND TURNS OUT IT WAS THE LITTLE CONNECTOR TO THE BATTERY TERMINAL SO I PURCHASED THE PART AT THE DEALER AND HAD THE MECHANIC INSTALL IT THE FIRST TIME. NOW IT IS HAPPENING AGAIN AND I DIDN'T REALIZE THE FIRST TIME I DID IT THE PART WAS A RECALL SO PAID OUT OF MY OWN POCKET MYSELF . AND NOW FOR IT TO HAPPEN AGAIN IS A BUMMER SO I SHOULD OF FILED A COMPLIMENT THE FIRST TIME AROUND BUT DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT IT I FIGURED IT MIGHT OF BEEN SOMETHING I DID BUT NOW I KNOW NOW . AND IT'S THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO I FIX THE PROBLEM AND IT JUST COMES BACK
WHEN TRYING TO TURN THE CAR ON, THE CAR MAY START OR NOT. IT'S ALMOST A GAMBLE WHEN TRYING TO TURN THE CAR ON. HONDA HAS ALWAYS BEEN SAFE AND RELIABLE BUT DUE TO THIS IGNITION PROBLEM I DON'T FEEL SAFE OR IT'S RELIABILITY. THE CAR IS PUSH TO START, SO WHEN IT DOES NOT WANT TO START IT CAN TAKE ANYWHERE FROM 2 TO 8 TRY'S BEFORE THE CAR STARTS. I HAD AN INSTANCE IN THE PAST TWO MONTHS WHERE MY PHONE WAS DEAD AND I WAS 27 MILES FROM HOME IN A PARKING STRUCTURE AND THE CAR DID NOT WANT TO START AT ALL.
WHEN PUSHING THE START BUTTON, SOMETIMES THE CAR WOULD START, AND SOMETIMES IT WOULDN'T. WHEN IT WOULD NOT START, I WOULD HAVE TO TRY IT 3 TO 5 TIMES TO GET IT TO START. MY 2014 HONDA HAS 71K MILES AND THE STARTER HAS GONE OUT. COST TO REPLACE MY STARTER WAS $537.43. MY FRIEND, WITH AN IDENTIAL VEHICLE, ALSO HAD HER STARTER GO OUT AT 60K MILES (SAME ISSUE). THE STARTER SHOULD NOT BE GOING BAD THIS SOON ON A "QUALITY" VEHICLE. A RECALL ON THE STARTER SHOULD BE ISSUED.
MY 2014 HONDA ACCORD HAS BEEN HAVING INTERMITTENT ISSUES WITH THE PUSH-BUTTON START FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO REPLACED THE BATTERY AND THINGS WORKED A LITTLE BETTER FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS, BUT IT IS BACK TO NOT STARTING INTERMITTENTLY WHEN I HOLD DOWN THE BRAKE AND PUSH THE STARTER BUTTON.
NOT SURE IF THIS IS A "TAKATA RECALL." AUTO ACCIDENT ON MAJOR INTERSTATE, BREAKING AND MOVING ABOUT 10-15 MPH WHEN VEHICLE WAS STRUCK VARIOUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS STRUCK IN THE REAR DRIVER SIDE, THEN TOOK A FRONT STRIKE WITH THE VEHICLE IN FRONT WHILE ALSO RECEIVING A DRIVER SIDE HIT ALONG THE DOOR, REARVIEW MIRROR AREA, AND FRONT TIRE. THE VEHICLE THEN WAS PUSHED INTO A GUARDRAIL FROM STRIKES TO THE CAR IN THE UPPER FRONT AND SIDE REGION OF THE DRIVERS SIDE. NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED DURING THE ACCIDENT OR AFTER, THOUGH EQUIPPED WITH SEVERAL AIRBAG LOCATIONS. THE SEATBELT REMAINED MOVEABLE AND DID NOT TENSE/LOCK UP.
WHILE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND MOVING THE BACK UP CAMERA IS BLACK WHEN IN REVERSE WITH GUIDELINES. IT GOT DARKER AND PIXILATED THEN WHEN BLACK ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO. NOW THE SIDE LANEWATCH CAMERA HAS ALSO STOPPED WORKING WHEN BLINKER IS ON OR BUTTON PRESSED. VERY DANGEROUS TO HAVE LIMITED VISIBILITY ESPECIALLY WHEN BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT OR ON A GARAGE. PLEASE ADDRESS THIS!
IGNITION PROBLEMS. CAR WILL NOT START ON INITIAL TRY. IT TAKES SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO START IT. MY CAR ONLY HAS 66K MILES. IM AFRAID IT WILL LEAVE ME STRANDED SOMEWHERE BECAUSE IT DID NOT START. THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED AFTER COLLIDING WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET. INJURIES SUSTAINED INCLUDE BURNS AND LACERATIONS TO FACE BETWEEN EYES, FOREHEAD, ABOVE UPPER LIP AND ON LOWER LIP.

HONDA LANEWATCH WHICH IS A CAMERA-BASED ASSIST THAT PROJECTS A LIVE FEED OF THE VEHICLE'S RIGHT-SIDE BLIND SPOT ON THE CAR'S INFOTAINMENT SCREEN, STOPPED WORKING. CAR DISTANCE MARKINGS STILL APPEAR BUT THE CAMERA FEED HAS GONE BLACK/THERE IS NO LIVE FEED. SIMILAR ISSUE IS WITH REVERSE CAMERA. THERE IS NO LIVE IMAGE UPON ENTERING IN REVERSE GEAR, THE CAMERA FEED HAS GONE BLACK.
