SINCE ABOUT OCT 2019 HAD AN OIL LEAK BUT ALWAYS KEPT ENOUGH OIL IN CAR BY OCCASIONALLY CHECKING/FILLING WHEN NECESSARY THEN ON 2/17/20 WHILE DRIVING UPHILL AT 55MPH THE CAR LOSS POWER SO I PULLED OVER TO CHECK OIL LEVEL WHICH WAS FINE. THEN RESTARTED CAR BUT CAR WAS STILL UNDER POWERED BUCKING WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE FORWARD. TOOK CAR IN TO FIND THAT 1 OF 4 CYLINDERS HAD ONLY 15% COMPRESSION WHY? BUT DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO TAKE ENGINE APART SO PUT IN NEW PLUGS AND POINTS BUT DIDN'T SOLVE PROBLEM. FOUND 2014 RECALL THAT WAS STRIKING SIMILAR BUT HONDA CLAIMS THAT RECALL DOESN'T COVER MY CAR?? PLEASE HELP BECAUSE THIS RECALL OF JULY 2014 MANUFACTURED CARS SHOULD POSSIBLY BE EXPANDED OR MAYBE ANOTHER RECALL IS NEEDED. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION. I HAVE HAD 1 OEM HONDA STARTER REPLACED AND 2 AFTERMARKET ONES. THE CAR INTERMITTENTLY STARTS. SOMETIMES IMMEDIATELY AND SOMETIMES LEAVES ME STRANDED. I TOOK THE CAR IN A FEW TIMES TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP IN THE PAST AND SINCE I COULDN'T REPLICATE IT THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING AND WAS CHARGED THE DIAGNOSTIC FEE $180. THIS CAR IS SO UNRELIABLE THAT I CAN'T EVEN HAVE MY KIDS DRIVE IT FEARING THEM BEING STRANDED. I HAD THE CAR TOWED AT LEAST 6 TIMES. TO HAVE THE CAR START FINE THE NEXT DAY OR EVEN HOURS LATER. THERE ARE SO MANY COMPLAINTS WITH OTHERS OWNING THE SAME GENERATION HONDA ACCORD ON ALL THE FORUMS ONLINE. IT IS NOT SAFE AT ALL. I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS AROUND 40K AND NOW MY CAR IS 160K, SINCE NO ONE SEEMS TO BE ABLE TO FIX IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHANGE OIL SERVICE LIGHT SHOWED 30 PERCENT OIL LIFE REMAINING IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT'S SPOUSE REMOVED THE DIPSTICK AND CHECKED THE OIL LEVELS. THERE WAS NO OIL IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE TECHNICIAN CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS NO OIL IN THE ENGINE. THE OIL WAS TOPPED OFF. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.
MY CAR WILL HAVE MOMENTS WHEN IT WILL NOT START. IN ORDER TO START MY VEHICLE, I HAVE TO KEEP TURNING THE KEY INTO IT TURNS ON. MY BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR HAVE BEEN CHECK BUT BOTH ARE FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. IT WILL DO THIS IN VARIOUS SCENARIOS, IF THE CAR IS OFF 5 MINUTES OR 5 HOURS .
IN THE 2014 ACCORD, THE PUSH TO START TURNS THE LIGHTS ON AND THE DASH, BUT THE CAR DOES NOT START. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE SAME ISSUE IN OTHER MODELS OF HONDA BUT NOT IN THE 2014. SO NEEDLESS TO SAY I CAN TURN EVERYTHING BUT THE CAR ON. THE PIECE IS $200.00 TO REPLACE WITHOUT LABOUR COST. I ONLY HAVE 44,000 MILES ON MY VEHICLE. I HAVE LOOKED UP THE ISSUE AND, I'M NOT THE ONLY PERSON WITH THIS VEHICLE TO EXPERIENCE THE PROBLEM. I TRULY HOPE THIS CAN BE FIXED AND A RECALL SHOULD BE IN ORDER. THIS IS ONGOING STILL SOMETIMES AFTER TRYING FOR 10-15 MINUTES IT WILL START OTHER TIMES IT DOESN'T. MAKES IT VERY HARD WHEN I'M A SINGLE MOM WHO THOUGHT SHE WAS BUYING A GOOD RELIABLE CAR.
Starting grinding problem started 2 year ago check the battery changed the started and it continued to grind researched it online and found a Service Bulletin 16-002 that was released by Honda on August 11, 2017 which states rotate torque converter 1 bolt and i did that also changed the started again seemed to work for few months and now it started grinding again. It looks like Honda is aware of this issue and their not willing to recall the vehicles. This is ridiculous. HONDA OWN UP TO YOUR MISTAKES AND RECALL THE VEHICLES.
VEHICLE SOMETIMES DOES NOT START. I HAVE TWO VEHICLES OF THE SAME MODEL AND YEAR ONE WAS RECALLED AND SOFTWARE WAS FIXED CONCERNING THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND BATTERY AND THIS VEHICLE THAT I AM SUBMITTING WAS NOT RECALLED EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE BOUGHT ON THE SAME DAY AND ARE THE SAME EXACT MODEL.
VEHICLE WILL NOT START SOMETIMES WHEN YOU PUSH THE START BUTTON. I HAD THE BATTERY, ALTERNATOR, AND STARTED TESTED AND ALL ARE IN PERFECT WORKING ORDER.. ALL THE BATTERIES IN THE KEYS ARE FINE AS WELL. THE PROCESS I USE TO START THE CAR IS PUSH THE BREAK THEN PRESS THE PUSH START BUTTON. WHEN IT DOES NOT START IT MAKES A CLICKING NOISE LIKE THE BATTERY IS DEAD BUT THERE AGAIN WHEN THE BATTERY IS TESTED IT IS FULLER CHARGED. THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING AS A NEW MOTHER. I AM SCARED MY SON AND I WILL BE LEFT SOMEWHERE WITH MY CAR UNABLE TO START. I HAVE ATTACHED AN IMAGE OF WHICH DASHBOARD ALERTS APPEARS WHEN THIS ISSUE OCCURS.
I BELIEVE IT IS A STARTER ISSUE. WHEN I GO TO START THE VEHICLE IT WILL OFTEN STALL AND NOT THE START THE FIRST COUPLE TIMES AND I CAN HEAR IT TRY TO START BUT FAIL. THE CAR ONLY HAS 39K MILES ON IT AND I WAS DOING MY RESEARCH AND A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE WITH THEIR 2014 ACCORD. I THINK THIS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A RECALL AND FIXED BY HONDA OR REFUNDED FOR REPAIR BY HONDA.
ENGINE START WAS INTERMITTENT. CAR HAD ONLY 55,000 MILES. HONDA SERVICE DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDED A NEW STARTER. CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR.
ENGINE WILL NOT START INTERMITTENTLY. CAR IS PUSH BUTTON START. HEAR RELAY CLICK BUT STARTER DOES NOTHING. AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS, CAR STARTS NORMALLY WITH PLENTY OF CRANK FROM THE STARTER. BATTERY/ALTERNATOR CHECKS OUT FINE; THIS IS NOT A BATTERY PROBLEM. INTERMITTENT BUT SEEMS TO BE INCREASING IN FREQUENCY.
I HAVE BEEN NOTICING SOME KIND OF NOISE COMING FROM THE BRAKES,LIGHTS AND SUDDEN VEHICLE TURNING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. CREATING TRAUMATIC EFFECTS ON ME.I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CALL FROM HONDA TO GET THIS SITUATION FIXED.
CAR WOULD NOT START AFTER SEVERAL TRIES.
VEHICLE RATTLES ON COLD START. FREQUENTLY BURNING OIL. HAVE PROPERLY MAINTAINED VEHICLE SINCE PURCHASED FEBRUARY 2014.
BOUGHT A 2014 ACCORD COUPE NEW. IT IS NOW 12/16/19 AND THIS IS THE FIFTH BATTERY IN THE CAR. 4 REPLACED BY HONDA AND 1 REPLACED BY MECHANIC. IF CAR SITS IN THE DRIVEWAY FOR 2 - 3 DAYS IT WILL NOT START. HONDA SAYS THEY CANNOT FIND ANY ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THE CAR WHICH IS HARD TO BELIEVE. LIKE THE RIDE ON THE CAR BUT VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE RELIABILITY.
ENGINE RATTLES LOUDLY UPON STARTUP. CAR HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED DURING ENTIRE PERIOD OF ORIGINAL OWNERSHIP. APPEARS TO BE A MAJOR ENGINE ISSUE.
MY 2014 HONDA ACCORD WAS HAVING TROUBLE STARTING, PRESSING THE PUSH BUTTON START WOULD ONLY RESULT IN A CLICK. AFTER BEING STRANDED BY THE VEHICLE NOT STARTING I HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED. I REMOVED THE STARTER FOR TESTING. WHEN THE STARTER WAS BENCH TESTED IT WORKED FINE. I PUT IT BACK ON THE CAR, IT STARTED ONCE AND WOULD NOT START AGAIN. I REPLACED THE STARTER MYSELF. IT WAS $310 FOR THE PART. THERE HAVE BEEN NO ISSUES STARTING THE CAR IN THE WEEK FOLLOWING THE REPLACEMENT. AFTER READING THE NHTSA POSTS AND ONLINE THIS IS A SYSTEMIC ISSUE WITH THE ACCORD THAT IS UNDERREPORTED.
DURING COLDER WEATHER AND UPON COLD START ENGINE RATTLES UNTIL CAR ENGINE IS WARM.
OIL IS EXCESSIVELY BURNING. ALTERNATOR ISN'T CHARGING CAR BATTERY.
DEFECTIVE STARTER; I'M HAVING ISSUES WITH THE STARTER. AT TIMES MY 2014 HONDA ACCORD V6 WILL NOT START. AFTER THE THIRD TIME, IT WILL START SUCCESSFULLY.
In November 2019 I was involved in and accident because the steering failed. The air bag also broke my neck. The person that I hit was also injured. No one ever inspected the car. My Insurance Company told my lender that it is still impounded.
ON FRIDAY, 11/15/19, MY CAR NOTIFIED ME TO CHECK MY FUEL CAP, SO I CHECKED IT AND CLOSED IT UNTIL THE HEARING THE CLICKING SOUND. ON SATURDAY11/16/19, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON; I'D BEEN SMELLING A STRONG SMELL OF GAS FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS, AND I THOUGHT IT WAS COMING FROM INSIDE OF MY HOME, I HAD SOMEONE TO GO AND CHECK MY HOME AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG THERE. IT WASN'T UNTIL I WAS PUMPING GAS INTO MY CAR (TURNED OFF), AND WHEN IT REACHED FULL, THE HANDLE CLICKED, AND I COULD HEAR THE GAS POURING OUT ONTO THE GROUND.
PURCHASED 2014 ACCORD 5 YEARS AGO, AND MY OIL LIGHT CAME ON SO I CALLED TO GET MY CAR SERVICE SINCE MY OIL LIFE SAID I WAS AT 30%. I AM NOW BEING TOLD THAT MY CAR IS BURNING A LOT OF OIL. OF COURSE, WHEN I AM OUT OF WARRANTY. THE DEALERSHIP PERFORMED THE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST AFTER I REACHED 1K MILES FROM MY OIL CHANGE AND THEY SAID I MAY NEED TO REPLACE PISTON RINGS OR GET A NEW ENGINE. I FIND IT SURPRISING FOR A CAR THAT IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD NEEDS A NEW ENGINE. HONDA MUST BE LYING TO THEIR CUSTOMERS AND FAILING THE EMISSIONS TEST AS THEIR CARS ARE BURNING WAY TOO MUCH OIL. HONDA IS NOT DOING ANYTHING TO FIX THIS; IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE OLDER CARS (HENCE THE RECALL FOR 2008-2011 MODELS) AND SEEMS LIKE IT CONTINUES TO BE PROBLEM FOR THE NEWER CARS. KEEP IN MIND, I HAVE GONE TO THE SAME DEALER FOR ALL OF MY SERVICES AND KEPT UP TO DATE WITH MAINTENANCE; AND I WAS NEVER TOLD I HAD LOW OIL IN THESE FIVE YEARS.

THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V121000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. METRO HONDA (4918 W HIGHWAY 74, MONROE, NC 28110, (704) 220-1500) WAS CONTACTED AND IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT THE VEHICLE BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT RESEARCHED AND FOUND INFORMATION WHICH STATED THAT THE ENGINE'S SHORT BLOCK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AT A COST OF APPROXIMATELY $5,000. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
ACCORD HAS PUSH BUTTON START PROBLEM STARTED MONTH AGO BUT IS GETTING WORSE. TRY TO START AND NOTHING HAPPENS EXCEPT DASH LIGHTS. SOMETIMES ON SECOND TRY IT STARTS BUT NOW NEEDS MULTIPLE TRIES. HAVE HEALTH ISSUES DO NOT NEED TO GET STUCK MULTIPLE TIMES. BATTERY IS UNDER 3 YEARS OLD AND CAR HAS 47000 MILES. WENT TO DEALER FOR RECALL AND OIL CHANGE AND THEIR CHECKLIST SHOWED WRONG ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HONDA ACCORD. UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, TIRE GAUGE, AND STEERING ASSIST WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRONIC BRAKE CONTROL MODULE WAS DEFECTIVE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO CAPITOL HONDA (745 WEST CAPITOL EXPRESSWAY, CAPITOL EXPRESSWAY AUTO MALL, SAN JOSE, CA 95136, (408) 675-5884) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE DEALER PROVIDED AN ESTIMATE FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC AND THE CONTACT REFUSED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE SERVICED AT THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,100.
MY 2014 HONDA ACCORD STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS STARTING AROUND OCT.1ST 2019. I HAVE 91,000 MILES AND HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY TWICE SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE AT 28,000 MILES IN JANUARY 2016. THE ISSUE IS MOST TIMES IT WILL TAKE ANYWHERE FROM 5 - 16 TURNS OF THE KEY BEFORE THE CAR STARTS, ITS TAKEN UP TO 40+ TIMES A FEW TIMES! I SEE THERE ARE 100'S OF COMPLAINTS IN REGARDS TO THIS PROBLEM. ITS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE I WAS AT A GAS STATION AND WAS PHYSICALLY THREATENED BY A GUY WITH A KNIFE BECAUSE I FINISHED PUMPING MY GAS AND COULD NOT START MY CAR! I HAD TO PUSH MY CAR ON THE STREET SO THE CRAZED GUY COULD MOVE HIS CAR FROM BEHIND MINE. THIS ISSUE HAS TO BE ADDRESSED BECAUSE IT CAUSES MANY SAFETY ISSUES.
THE CAR IS BURNING OIL. I COMPLETED AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST AS REQUESTED BY THE HONDA DEALER AND THE OIL CONSUMPTION IS HIGH, LEADING THEM TO CONCLUDE THAT THE CAR IS BURNING OIL.
MY ACCORD HAD STARTING ISSUES FOR SOMETIME, FEW WEEKS AGO IT COMPLETELY DEAD. CALLED AAA BATTERY SERVICE, THEY CHECKED AND REPLACED THE BATTERY. AGAIN I FACED SAME ISSUE, WITH IN A WEEK MY VEHICLE COMPLETED DEAD, WHICH DIDN'T START. TOWED THE VEHICLE TO NEAR BY HONDA DEALER, THEY INSPECTED AND TOLD THAT ISSUE WAS BAD STARTER. AND THEY CHARGED FANCY PRICE FOR THAT, $431 FOR SPARE AND $375 FOR LABOR JUST REPLACING THE STARTER. SO MANY CUSTOMERS FACING THE ISSUE, WITHIN 45,000 MILES, HONDA DOESN'T CARE. WHEN I RAISED THIS ISSUE TO HONDA THEY TOLD ME THAT STARTER IS WEAR PART AND I NEED TO REPLACE EVERY 40,000 MILES. ATTACHED HONDA SEVICE INVOICE FOR REFERENCE.
I HAVE HAD THE MESSAGE "CHECK CHARGE SYSTEM" ON MY CAR SINCE I BOUGHT IT FROM MOSES HONDA. I GOT A RECALL NOTICE ON IT AND TOOK IT IN AND THE SERVICE GUY SAID THE RECALL WOULD FIX IT. WHEN I PULLED OUT OF THE LOT AT MOSES HONDA AFTER HAVING THE RECALL SUPPOSEDLY FIXED MY CAR STILL SAID "CHECK CHARGE SYSTEM". TOOK IT TO A HONDA DEALER IN GEORGIA AND SAID NEEDS A NEW STARTER. STILL SAYS "CHECK CHARGE SYSTEM". HONDA WILL NOT FIX IT'S CARS.
INTERMEDIATE STARTER SCREECH WHEN STARTING VEHICLE. VEHICLE WILL NOT START WHEN THIS HAPPENS AND HAPPENS TWO OR THREE TIMES BEFORE THE VEHICLE STARTS.
THIS PROBLEM WITH 2014 H ACCORD EXISTS SINCE NOV. 2018 (MILEAGE THEN APPROX.. 49,000 MI). THE STARTER CLICKS (BATTERY IS FULL) AND NOTHING IS HAPPENING. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS THE ENGINE TYPICALLY STARTED. IN JUNE 2019 I CHECKED AT HONDA DEALERSHIP WHETHER THE BATTERY SWITCH RECALL IS THE OFFENDER. IT WAS NOT. THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE ' DESPITE MY DETAILED DESCRIPTION HOW THE NON-START EVENT HAPPENS. IN 2019 THIS ISSUE STARTED SHOWING UP WITH HIGHER FREQUENCY ' JUST YESTERDAY I GOT STRANDED ON THE ROAD IN PARKING LOT. HAD TO LEAVE CAR THERE OVERNIGHT (ATTEMPTED TO START MAYBE 20 TIMES WITH DIFFERENT P-N CONFIGURATIONS ' BATTERY ABOUT 13.6 V) ' NO SUCCESS ' THE CAR AND STARTER WERE DEAD (1 CLICK ONLY). CAME BACK NEXT MORNING WITH TOWING SERVICE. THE CAR STARTED. THIS ISSUE WITH MALFUNCTIONING STARTER IS ON- AND -OFF. HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE HAVE EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE STARTER WITH THIS H. ACCORD LX 2014 MODEL. THE H. DEALER PRETENDED THAT THEY ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE ISSUE (PLENTY OF COMPLAINS ON THE INTERNET WHICH I SHOWED THEM). I AM WAITING FOR OEM STARTER PART TO BE REPLACED. CAR HAS 61,000 MILES NOW. IT IS WAY PREMATURE FOR THE STARTER TO DEVELOP THESE TYPES OF PROBLEMS ' WHICH FOR ME LAST EXACTLY FOR ONE YEAR (NOV. 2018) AND CREATES A REAL ROAD HAZARD, ESPECIALLY IN WINTER TIME. RECALL FROM HONDA IS NECESSARY. IT IS SYSTEMIC ISSUE HERE.
2014 HONDA ACCORD -MULTIPLE WARNING LIGHTS STAY ON AND STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UPON STARTUP. AN HOUR LATER, THE SYMPTOMS ARE GONE. HONDA HAS ISSUED TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 16-011 STATING THAT THE CAUSE IS CORROSION BETWEEN THE ENGINE WIRE HARNESS AND THE CKP SENSOR CONNECTOR. HONDA'S CORRECTIVE ACTION IS TO HAVE THE CUSTOMER PAY TO REPLACE THE ENGINE WIRE HARNESS AND THE CKP SENSOR. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, AND SHOULD BE PART OF A RECALL.
WHEN TRYING TO START, MAKES A CLICKING NOISE AND WON'T START. HAVE TO TURN IT OFF, WAIT, THEN TRY AGAIN. SOMETIMES I EVEN GET OUT THE CAR AND LOCK IT TO RESET EVERYTHING. SOMETIMES IT STARTS, SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T. SOMETIMES I HAVE TO JUMP START IT.
2014 HONDA ACCORD LX WITH 28000 MILES. STARTED HAVING STARTING ISSUES APPROXIMATELY 2 MONTHS AGO. TAKES ANYWHERE FROM 2 TO 8 TRIES TO START AT TIMES THEN OTHER TIMES ,NO ISSUE AT ALL. NO ISSUES WHILE DRIVING, ONLY WHEN PARKED. CHANGED THE BATTERY WITHOUT IMPROVEMENT. CALLED HONDA CUSTOMER CARE SINCE THIS IS AN IDENTIFIED ISSUE BY THE NUMBER OF POSTS ON THE INTERNET. THE CARE REP "ANNA" INFORMED ME THAT SINCE THE CAR WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY, BASICALLY NOTHING COULD BE DONE, AND THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. SHE INFORMED ME THAT IT APPEARS TO BE A STARTER ISSUE. PARKED IN STORE PARKING LOT, VEH TURNED OFF FOR APROX 30 MIN. VEHICLE NEEDED MULTIPLE TRIES TO START. REPL BATTERY, WAS BETTER FOR A WEEK. NEEDED 8-10 TRIES TO START YESTERDAY. WOULD JUST CLICK WHEN TURNING THE KEY. TAKING IN TO HAVE STARTER REPLACED. VEHICLE ONLY HAD 60K MILES, SHOULD NOT BE NEEDING A STARTER THIS SOON. STARTED HAVING ISSUES IN THE PAST MONTH.
ENGINE FAILS TO CRANK AT FIRST TRY. CAR HAS ONLY 30000 MILES. STARTER MAKES STRANGE SOUND AND NOTHING HAPPENS WHEN CARS IS PARKED FOR SOME TIME. HAD THE BATTERY TERMINAL RECALL DONE BEFORE THIS STARTED TO HAPPEN. REPEATED TRIES WITH THE START BUTTON WILL EVENTUALLY WORK, SO FAR.
MY 2014 HONDA ACCORD STARTS BY A KEY FOB AND PUSH BUTTON STARTER. RECENTLY, THE CAR WOULD TAKE 5-6 ATTEMPTS TO START.. NOW IT WILL NOT START AT ALL. IT JUST WILL NOT CRANK OVER. I HAVE ABOUT 65,000 MILES BUT AS I RESEARCH "STARTER PROBLEMS OF THE 2014 HONDA ACCORD", I GET OVER 70 OF THE SAME COMPLAINTS FROM ONE WEBSITE. SOME OF THE OTHER SAME COMPLAINTS WITH MILEAGE FROM 15,000 TO MORE THAN 70,000. I CALLED AMERICAN HONDA, 1-800-999-1009, AND MY CASE NUMBER IS: [XXX]. I SPOKE TO [XXX] ON 10/31/19. SHE SAID THEY ARE AWARE OF THIS "ISSUE" BUT CANNOT DO ANYTHING I ASKED HOW MANY COMPLAINTS MUST THEY HAVE BEFORE THEY DO AN OFFICIAL RECALL. SHE CANNOT ANSWER. I ASKED IF THEY WILL DO ANYTHING FOR ME IN LIGHT OF SO MANY COMPLAINTS? SHE SAYS NO, IT IS OVER THE WARRANTY. ENGINE TAKES LONG TO START. STARTER DOESN'T TURN OVER. STARTER TAKES UP TO MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS BEFORE ENGINE TURNS ON. ONCE YOU TURN THE CAR OFF THE PROCESS START OVER AGAIN. IT TAKES ME ANYWHERE FROM 15 TO 20 MINS TO START THE CAR.

CAR KEEPS GOING DEAD AFTER I HAVE A NEW STARTER AND A NEW BATTERY. SHUTS OFF ANYWHERE AND CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS

DRIVER ENTERED CAR AFTER GROCERY SHOPPING. CAR WAS PUT INTO DRIVE AND LIGHT ACCELERATOR PRESSURE WAS APPLIED APPROPRIATE FOR MOVING OUT OF THE PARKING SPACE. CAR PROCEEDED TO ADVANCE SLOWLY AT FIRST BUT SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. THE AMOUNT OF RAPID AND SUDDEN ACCELERATION WAS INCONSISTENT AND DISPROPORTIONATE WITH THE AMOUNT OF PRESSURE AND EFFORT THAT WAS APPLIED TO THE ACCELERATOR WHEN ADVANCING FROM THE PARKING SPACE. THREE (3) PEDESTRIANS WERE EITHER HIT DIRECTLY BY THE CAR OR THE RESULTANT DEBRIS FROM THE ACCIDENT. TWO (2) REQUIRED MEDICAL CARE/HOSPITALIZATION. ADDITIONALLY THERE WAS SIGNIFICANT PROPERTY DAMAGE TO THE GROCERY STORE AND VEHICLE. THE COST TO REPAIR DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN APPRAISED AT ABOUT $9,500. THE EXTENT AND NATURE OF INJURIES TO PEDESTRIANS AND DAMAGE TO BUILDING HAS NOT YET BEEN DETERMINED. THE 2014 HONDA ACCORD ACCORDING TO PUBLIC NHTSA DATABASE REPORTING HAS EXPERIENCED AT LEAST 17 SUDDEN ACCELERATION EVENTS (SAE) ATTRIBUTED TO FAILED VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL WITH STRIKINGLY SIMILAR CIRCUMSTANCES. ACCORDING TO NHTSA PUBLIC REPORTINGS HONDA HAS BEEN NOTIFIED OF SOME OF THESE 17 SAES. THE SAES ARE NOT LIMITED TO JUST 2014 HONDA ACCORDS. IT HAS BEEN REPORTED IN OTHER MODEL YEARS IN 9TH GENERATION ACCORDS. THE 2014 HONDA ACCORDS ARE PART OF THE 9TH GENERATION HONDA ACCORDS FROM (2013 TO 2017) IN NORTH AMERICA. REQUEST NHTSA INVESTIGATE SUDDEN ACCELERATION EVENTS IN 9TH GENERATION HONDA ACCORDS (2013 TO 2017) IN NORTH AMERICA. THERE ARE SIGNIFICANT NUMBER OF INSTANCES OF SAE TO OBSERVE A CLEAR AND PRESENT PATTERN TO WARRANT AN IN-DEPT INVESTIGATION. THERE HAVE BEEN PRIOR INSTANCES OF HONDA RECALLING VEHICLES DUE TO SAE.
THE CAR DID NOT TURN ON. HAD TO JUMP IT. AFTER JUMP BATTERY WAS STILL GOOD. BUT ALL SAFETY LIGHT IN THE CAR CAME ON. THE BATTERY IS 2-YEAR-OLDS AND STILL UNDER WARRANTY. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY ARE TESTING IT NOW. BUT DEALER MENTIONED THAT THEY NEED TO PUT A NEW BATTERY IN TO TEST IT FIRST.
THE CAR RANDOMLY STOPPED STARTING. 95% OF THE TIMES IT WORKS FINE HOWEVER SOMETIME IT WON'T START WHICH IS SECURITY RISK TO GET STRANDED IN CASE I AM NOT CLOSER TO TOWING LOCATION. TOOK THE CAR TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED IT UNDER WARRANTY. THEY SAID ITS A KNOWN ISSUE. I SAW PEOPLE HAVING TO REPLACE THE STARTER MULTIPLE TIMES AND HONDA STILL HAS NOT RECALLED FOR THAT ISSUE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, INTERMITTENTLY THERE WAS A GRINDING SOUND COMING FROM THE VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START-UP. DUE TO THE GRINDING SOUND, THE FLY-WHEEL WAS REPLACED AFTER THE STARTER HAD BEEN REPLACED THE THIRD TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE STARTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110,000.
I HAVE REPLACED THE STARTER ON THIS CAR 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS AND IT STILL HAS THE SAME ISSUE. SOME DAYS THE CAR STARTS JUST FINE AND OTHER TIMES YOU GO TO ART ART THE CAR AND IT DOESN'T START AND MAKES THIS TERRIFYING GRINDING NOISE. HONDA REALLY NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS FOR THE LAST 2 YEARS. THE CAR ISN'T OLD ENOUGH TO BE HAVING THESE KIND OF ISSUES. I AM ALWAYS FEARFUL THAT I'M GOING TO BE IN A SITUATION WHERE I NEED TO GET OUT OF SOMEWHERE AS FAST AS POSSIBLE AND I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO DO SO DUE TO THE CAR NOT STARTING RIGHT. IT IS UNSAFE FOR ME TO TAKE MY FAMILY PLACES FOR FEAR THAT WE WILL BE STRANDED. I HAVE BEEN STRANDED DUE TO THIS CAR NOT STARTING AT ALL A FEW MONTHS AFTER REPLACING THE STARTER.
MY 2014 HONDA ACCORD CAR COULD NOT START WITHOUT TWO OR THREE ATTEMPTS. ON JULY 31 2019, I TOOK THE CAR TO A HONDA DEALER FOR POSSIBLE BATTERY PROBLEM BUT WAS FOUND THAT THE BATTERY WAS GOOD. ABOUT A WEEK AFTER, THE CAR WAS SHOWING SIMILAR PROBLEMS, I.E, BY TURNING THE KEY IN THE IGNITION, I WAS NOT ABLE TO START THE CAR WITH THE FIRST AND SOMETIMES WITH THE SECOND ATTEMPT. ON AUGUST 13 2019, I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE SAME DEALER AND WAS TOLD BY SUPERVISOR THAT THE STARTER WAS NO LONGER GOOD SO NEEDED TO BE CHANGED. THIS WAS AFTER MY WARRANTY EXPIRED A LITTLE OVER A MONTH AGO. I ARGUED WITH THE PERSON THAT HANDLED MY CAR THAT WHY THE STARTED COULD GO BAD WHILE DRIVEN 30,883 MILES ONLY. THE ONLY ADVISE I WAS GIVEN WAS THAT IF I DIDN'T CHANGE THE STARTER, THE CAR WOULD COMPLETELY STOP FROM STARTING. SO I DECIDED THE DEALER TO PUT A NEW STARTER WITH A TOTAL OF $798.25 PRICE TAG.
