FRIENDSHIP HONDA (1440 BLOWING ROCK RD, BOONE, NC 28607) WAS CONTACTED, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN THERE FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT BACK TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE ALTERNATOR AND THE STARTER WERE FAULTY. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH CLAWSON HONDA OF FRESNO (6346 N BLACKSTONE AVE, FRESNO, CA 93710, (559) 435-5000) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE BATTERY WAS NO LONGER COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
STARTER GRINDS OR SPINS AT STARTUP. THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT AT FIRST BUT GETS WORSE OVER TIME UNTILL THE CAR WON'T START AT ALL LEAVING YOU STRANDED. HONDA RELEASED A SERVICE BULLETIN 16-002 THAT COVERS THE PROBLEM AND THE FIX FOR IT.
BACK UP CAMERA NO LONGER WORKING RIGHT TURN CAMERA NO LONGER WORKING
AT AROUND 35,000 MILES, THE STARTER IS NO LONGER WORKING AND SHOULD NOT BE GOING OUT WITH SO FEW MILES
I'VE HAD THIS FOR FOR 2 YEARS NOW AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THERE ARE TIMES MY CAR WON'T START ON THE 1ST KEY TURN. ALL THE LIGHTS COME ON AND THE BATTERY IS STILL RUNNING GOOD. I'VE HAD THE BATTERY TESTED 3 TIMES. THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY. I PUT MY KEY IN TURN IT LIGHTS COME ON IT CLICKS I TURN IT BACK TURN AND THE SAME THING HAPPENS. USUALLY ON THE THE THIRD TRY IT THE ENGINE COMES ON POWERFUL. THIS HAPPENS AT LEAST 3 TIMES A WEEK. I READ ON OTHER FORUMS AND A LOT OF OWNWERS OF THE SAME CAR ARE HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. THEY TOOK THEIRS TO THE DEALER AND THEY HAD TO GET THEIR STARTER REPLACED. WE ARE WONDERING HOW A CAR THIS NEW CAN ALREADY HAVE STARTER ISSUES? THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN WHEN CARS ARE UNDER 100K IN MILES. HONDA NEEDS TO HAVE A RECALL ON THEIR POORLY MADE STARTER. THE OWNERS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO REPLACE THE STARTER ALREADY.
RECENTLY MY 2014 BONDA ACCORD SPORT HAS BEEN ACTING UP THE LAST WEEK OF APRIL 2018 GOING OUT FOR LUNCH I WAS GOING TO TURN ON CAR AND I WOULD NOT START SH!T STARTER PROBLEM I RETRIED EVENTUALLY CAR STARTED UP AGAIN BUT NOW WITH ELECTRONIC STEERING ,ABS, TPMS, AND STABILITY CONTROL LIGHTS LIT UP AT SAME TIME SAME DAY DROVE CAR TO DEALER HAVE IT CHECKED OUT BUT 2 MILES AWAY FROM GETTING THERE THE LIGHTS TURNED OFF JUST MY LUCK SO HEADEAD BACK HOME. NOW ON 5/22/2018 IT HAPPEND AGAING THIS TIME WHILE DRIVING HOME IT STARTED WITH BREAK PEDAL WHEN APPLIED IT WOULD PULSE LIKE WHEN YOU SLAM BRAKES AND YOU FEEL ABS DOING ITS JOB MIND YOU I WAS IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC WHEN TRAFFIC CLEARED UP THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED ACTING UP THATS WHEN SAME LIGHTS ON DASH CAME UP AGAIN (SEE PICS) WAITING TILL TUESDAY TO GO GET CAR CHECKED OUT.
PROBLEM: SEEMS TO BE WITH IGNITION. WHILE CAR IS STATIONARY, THE VEHICLE FAILS AT THE INITIAL TURN OF THE KEY FOR IGNITION. FAILURE OF IGNITION MAY HAPPEN 2-3 TIMES BEFORE CAR WILL RUN. NOT ONLY HAS THIS NOW HAPPENED MORE THAN HALF A DOZEN TIMES, BUT WE ARE ALSO SEEING LARGER NUMBER OF TRIES BEFORE THE VEHICLE WILL START. (EXAMPLE: FIRST SEVERAL OCCURRENCES THE CAR WOULD START AFTER 1-2 TRIES. NOW IT IS MORE COMMON TO TAKE 2-3 TRIES BEFORE IGNITION.) THIS COULD CAUSE ANY OF US TO BE STRANDED UNEXPECTANTLY...ESPECIALLY CONCERNED IF THIS HAPPENS ON A TRIP AWAY FROM HOME, &/OR TO WIFE OR DAUGHTER ALONE. WE HEARD OTHER YEARS OF SAME HONDA ACCORD IS HAVING THIS PROBLEM. SO WE WERE SURPRISED NOT TO SEE OUR MAKE AND MODEL LISTED FOR RECALL.
MY SUNROOF EXPLODED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT ABOUT 70 MPH! IT WAS DEFINITELY NOT HIT BY ANYTHING. YOU CAN SEE IN ONE OF THE PHOTOS HOW IT BLEW OUTWARD. FORTUNATELY, MOST OF THE GLASS WENT OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND I WAS NOT INJURED, BUT IT WAS EXTREMELY LOUD AND TERRIFYING! I WAS STILL ABOUT TWO HOURS AWAY FROM HOME SO I CLOSED THE SHADE GUARD SO THAT THE GLASS WOULD NOT FALL INSIDE ON ME. I COULD HEAR PIECES FALLING AND HITTING THE SHADE GUARD THE REST OF THE WAY HOME. THIS WAS NOT COVERED BY MY WARRANTY EVEN THOUGH IN MY OPINION IT SHOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED AND WAS A DEFECT AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED.
I INFORMED HONDA ABOUT MY CAR'S OIL SYSTEM PROBLEM, AND HOW THE ENGINE IS BURNING OIL AT A FASTER RATE THAN NORMAL. I TOLD THEM THAT I HAD MY CAR CHECKED SEVERAL TIMES AT HONDA IN BURLINGAME FOR THIS PROBLEM. THERE WAS NO LEAKS, YET THEY COULDN'T DETERMINE THE CAUSE. THEY JUST TOLD ME TO KEEP AN EYE ON THE OIL GAUGE ON THE DASHBOARD. AT THE 50% LEVEL IT MADE A BEEPING NOISE AND I HAD THE OIL CHECKED. IT WAS ALMOST COMPLETELY EMPTY! THEREFORE THE OIL GAUGE WAS USELESS. I WROTE TO HONDA AND TOLD THEM THE PROBLEMS. THEY JUST TOLD ME TO GET IT CHECKED AGAIN AND WAS UNWILLING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS POTENTIAL HAZARD. NOW I AM CONCERNED ABOUT DRIVING THIS DEFECTIVE VEHICLE, AND VERY ALARMED THAT HONDA IS NOT CONCERNED ABOUT THIS POTENTIAL DANGER OR THEIR CUSTOMER'S SAFETY.

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE HEAD, SHOULDERS, RIBS AND CHEST THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW YARD AND DEEMED DESTROYED. HONDA OF ESCONDIDO IN ESCONDIDO, CALIFORNIA WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA, THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING OR AN IMPACT. THE AIR BAG KNOCKED THE CONTACT UNCONSCIOUS. WHEN THE CONTACT WOKE UP, THE VEHICLE HAD CRASHED INTO A STREET POLE. THE OTHER AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BROKEN TEETH, A BACK INJURY, NECK AND KNEE PAINS, AND A GASH ON HER FOREHEAD. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS RECEIVED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE CONTACT'S INSURANCE COMPANY DEEMED THE VEHICLE TOTALED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.

AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT THEN CRASHED INTO A CEMENT STREET LIGHT DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO VIEW THE ROADWAY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED SOME FRACTURED RIBS, A CONCUSSION, FRACTURED SOME TEETH AND INJURED THEIR FACE/NECK/CHEST/BACK. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THEIR WAS NO ONE ELSE IN THE VEHICLE WITH THE CONTACT. THEIR WAS NO OTHER VEHICLE INVOLVED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED TOTALED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE CONTACT CALLED HONDA ESCONDIDO (1700 AUTO PARK WAY N, ESCONDIDO, CA 92029 (760) 706-7554) AND PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WENT TO THE HOSPITAL TAKEN BY A FAMILY MEMBER, TREATED AND RELEASED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN IMPOUND LOT. THE INSURANCE COMPANY LABELED THE VEHICLE DESTROYED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,900.

I PURCHASED 2014 HONDA ACCORD SPORT NEW IN MARCH 2014. AFTER 33000 MILES THE STARTER BEGAN TO NOT START THE ENGINE AFTER THE FIRST ATTEMPT AND SOMETIMES THE SECOND OR THIRD ATTEMPT.I BROUGHT THE CAR INTO LIBERTY HONDA HARTFORD CT. FOR SERVICE.DEALER SAID THE STARTER WAS DEFECTIVE AND NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY SINCE THE TIME WAS OVER THE 3YEAR COVERAGE PERIOD EVENTHOUGH THE MILEAGE WAS UNDER THE 36000 MILES.DEALER SAID 2014 AND 2015 YEARS HAD SOME BAD STARTERS INSTALLED BY FACTORY.I PAID FOR NEW STARTER INSTALLED FOR $775. WHY DID HONDA PUT BAD STARTERS IN CARS THAT WOULD BECOME DEFECTIVE SHORTLY AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRATION? MANY COMPLAINTS FROM 2014 & 2015 HONDA ACCORD OWNERS ABOUT THE PROBLEM.HONDA SHOULD HAVE ISSUED A REPAIR BASED ON GOODWILL. DEALER SAID NO. WHEN YOU CAN'T START THE CAR QUICKLY THAT'S A SAFETY ISSUE. CAR WOULD NOT START QUICKLY WHILE PARKED IN DRIVEWAY OVERNIGHT,PARKED AT A STORE PARKING WITH ENGINE STILL WARM OR PARKED ON CITY STREET WITH ENGINE STILL WARM.TIME OF YEAR WAS APRIL AND MAY 2018.
IT HAS BEEN DIFFICULT TO START MY CAR. LAST NIGHT IT WOULDN'T START. WHEN IT FINALLY DID START ALL OF THE WARNING LIGHTS CAME IN AND WOULDN'T GO OUT. THIS SAME THING HAS HAPPENED TO MANY OF MY FRIENDS THAT ALSO OWN 2014 HONDA'S.
CAR WILL NOT START WHEN THE KEY IS TURNED BUT AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS AND TURNING THE SWITCH ON AND OFF AND TURNING THE WHEEL AND PUSHING ON THE BRAKE IT SOMETIMES JUST STARTS. THE CAR HAS 55000 MILES. HAS BEEN HAPPENING 3 MONTHS GETTING WORSE.
TAKATA RECALL.... CAR WON'T START. CONNECTION TO BATTERY LOOSE. I TRIED TO START IT AGAIN BUT MID-IGNITION .... LOUD SOUND AND NOW NOTHING
THE VEHICLE DOES NOT ALWAYS START WHEN YOU PRESSED THE START BUTTON AND ONLY CLICKS. THIS CAN BE DANGEROUS IF THE CAR STALLS IN A BUSY INTERSECTION OR RAIL ROAD CROSSING AND THE VEHICLE CANNOT BE STARTED. TO START THE VEHICLE (KEYLESS W/FOB), YOU HAVE TO PRESS THE BRAKE AND PRESS THE START BUTTON. IT APPEARS THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL PRESSURE AND THE STARTING OF THE CAR MAY BE PART OF THE ISSUE AS WE HAVE NOTICED THAT THE CAR WILL MORE LIKELY START WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS SOFT VS. HARD. NOT SURE IF THE ISSUE IS ISOLATED TO THE START BUTTON, BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER, BOTH OR THE ELECTRONICS THAT INTERACTS WHEN THESE TWO. ANY ASSISTANCE THAT YOU MAY PROVIDE WITH THIS ISSUE IS APPRECIATED. THANK YOU
ON SOME OCCASIONS THE KEYLESS START BUTTON DOES NOT ACTIVATE THE STARTER. IT MAY TAKE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO WORK OR WON'T AT ALL. SOMETIMES I LEAVE FOR A TIME AND WHEN I TRY AGAIN IT WORKS NORMALLY. I'VE HAD MANY CARS AND THIS ISSUE IS DEFFINETLY A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. HONDA DEALER REPLACED STARTER UNDER WARRANTY AND INDICATED THAT THEY KNEW IT WAS AN ISSUE. I THINK IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I NEEDED TO PICK UP MY WIFE AT THE HOSPITAL AND COULD NOT GET CAR STARTED. I DO HAVE ANOTHER CAR SO IT ALL WORKED OUT BUT IF I DIDN'T IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A BAD EVENT. STARTER WENT BAD AND WAS INTERMITTENT. THE SOLENOID WOULD NOT WORK AT TIMES. ALSO ENGINE WOULD TURN OVER SLOWLY LIKE IT HAD A BAD BATTERY. REPLACED BATTERY 2X!!!
I ONLY HAVE 29,600+ MILES ON MY 2014 HONDA ACCORD WITH TROUBLE STARTING CAR ENGINE. SOMETIMES IT TAKES 2 TO 3 TIMES BEFORE ENGINE STARTS. I BROUGHT TO MY HONDA DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT I AM LOOKING AT A $700+ BILL TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE STARTER. I SEE THAT OTHER OWNERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM!
REAR VIEW CAMERA DOES NOT HAVE AN IMAGE ON FRONT SCREEN. GRID LINES ARE THERE. SIDE MIRROR CAMERA IS OK.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE CAR HAS IGNITION PROBLEMS.
THE STEERING WHEEL FROZE UP ON ME AT START UP. I TURNED IT OFF AND IT WORKED CORRECTLY UNTIL THE NEXT TIME. AFTER THE THIRD TIME I READ ABOUT SIMILAR PROBLEMS OTHERS WERE HAVING AND KNEW THAT IT COULD FREEZE UP WHILE I WAS DRIVING SO I TOOK IT TO MY DEALER MARCH 19 2018. HONDA DOESN'T WANT TO TALK TO ME ABOUT IT. I WILL FIX IT AND HOPE FOR A RECALL. IT WILL COST ME AT LEAST $700. *TR
THE IGNITION SWITCH TOOK FOREVER TO START ENGINE. I HAD TO HAVE THE STARTER CHANGED AND PAID VANDERGRIFF HONDA DEALER $600+. I BELIEVE IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE BATTERY SENSOR THAT AFFECTS ALSO THE ALTERNATOR.
VEHICLE WILL NOT START AT TIMES AND THERE IS A CLICKING SOUND. IN THE BEGINNING, IT HAPPENED MAYBE TWICE A MONTH AND IT WOULD START AFTER A FEW SECONDS. IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE AND IT'S AN EVERYDAY OCCURRENCE, SEVERAL TIMES A DAY. ONE DAY IT WOULD NOT START AT ALL. I LEFT IT FOR APPROXIMATELY AN HOUR AND WHEN I LATER TRIED TO START IT, IT STARTED WITH NO HESITATION. IT IS NOT THE BATTERY, BECAUSE I REPLACED THE BATTERY THINKING THAT WAS THE PROBLEM. EVERYTHING ELSE IN THE CAR WORKS EVEN WHEN THE CAR WON'T START.
THE HONDA ACCORD 2014 IS CONSUMING TONS OF ENGINE OIL. HAVING ISSUES WITH "ENGINE OIL BURNING" WHERE EVIDENCE OF EVAPORATED ENGINE OIL IS ON THE ENGINE AND IS GETTING CONSUMED RAPIDLY. I HAVE TO REFILL A QUART FOR EVERY 1500 MILES. THIS MEANS 3 QUARTS ADDED BEFORE THE NEXT OIL CHANGE. THIS WAS DISCOVERED AROUND NOV 2017 WHEN THE OIL INDICATOR LIGHT WENT OFF (~44,000 MILES). AFTER GASKET REPLACEMENTS AND TWO OIL CHANGES, I AM STILL HAVING ISSUES AND AM AT 50,400 MILES. MY MAINTENANCE HAS ALWAYS BEEN ON TIME WITH REGULAR OIL CHANGES AT AROUND 4500-5000 MILES.
VEHICLE WILL NOT START UPON INITIALLY PUSHING THE IGNITION . CHANGED BATTERIES IN THE REMOTES YET THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. VEHICLE ONLY STARTS AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. INSTEAD OF PUSHING TO START HAVE BEEN PUSHING AND HOLDING TO START. PROBLEM BECOMING MORE AND MORE FREQUENT. STARTED 03/11/18 AND CONTINUED ON.
OUR 2014 HONDA ACCORD (PURCHASED "CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED") HAS AN INTERMITTENT ISSUE. FIRST OF ALL THE CAR HAS 53,000 MILES. HAVE ALREADY HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY; SINCE REPLACING THE BATTERY, A MYRIAD OF LIGHTS COME AND GO ON THE DASH FOR APPROXIMATELY 1 MONTH. NOW THE LIGHTS ARE STAYING ON - BRAKE, ABS, FCW, LDW, STEERING ASSIST. DEALER SAYS "PROBABLY" THE ABS MODULE ($1400). LAUNCHED A COMPLAINT ABOUT THIS ISSUE WITH HONDA AMERICA - THEY TELL ME TO TAKE IT IN AND HAVE IT CHECKED. MY QUESTION(S) WERE (A) BY SPENDING $1400, IS THIS GOING TO FIX IT OR WILL IT "PROBABLY" FIX IT. (B) HOW LONG BEFORE IT HAPPENS AGAIN?- KEEP IN MIND THE FIRST ONE LASTED 53,000 MILES (C) HOW DANGEROUS IS THIS? NO ANSWERS TO ANY OF THESE QUESTIONS WERE ANSWERED; THE ONLY THING THAT WAS CLEAR WAS THAT IT WASN'T A WIDESPREAD ISSUE BECAUSE THE NHSTA OR HONDA HADN'T ISSUED ANY KIND OF TSB OR RECALL. I THOUGHT IT WAS SOMEWHAT TELLING WHEN I CALLED ANOTHER DEALERSHIP, SPOKE WITH THE DESK PERSON IN SERVICE. WHILE OVER THE PHONE, EXPLAINED THE LIGHTS THAT WERE ON - THE ANSWER OF "IT'S THE ABS MODULE" WAS INSTANT. FOR SOMETHING THAT ISN'T "COMMON" OR WIDESPREAD, THIS WAS A VERY QUICK REPLY. ALSO A GOOGLE SEARCH TURNS UP OTHER ISSUES JUST LIKE THE ONE WE ARE HAVING. JUST WONDER HOW SAFE THIS IS?
WHEEL BEARING FAILURE, PRE-MATURE - THE CAR MADE A LOUD LOW HUM BETWEEN 35-60 MPH. READING FORUM'S ON LINE, ROAD NOISE FROM THE MICHELIN TIRES WAS DESCRIBED WHICH I ASSUMED THE NOISE TO BE. THE NOISE SEEMED TO GET LOUDER OVER TIME SO I HAD THE DEALER CHECK IT OUT. BOTH THE LEFT AND RIGHT REAR WHEEL BEARINGS HAD GONE BAD ON A 3 PLUS YEAR OLD CAR (JUST OUT OF WARRANTY) WITH 26,000 MILES. BOTH WHEEL BEARINGS WERE REPLACED AND IT SOLVED THE PROBLEM.
NOTHING HAPPEN TO THE CAR. JUST ONE DAY START CAR AND THE CAR FCW AND LDW SYSTEM FAILED THEN ALL THE OTHER LIGHTS STAY ON ALSO.WE HAD TO REPLACE MODULATOR PART# 57110-T2F-L12. WE WERE 23,000 MILES OVER WARRANTY. WE DID NOT EVEN PAY CAR OFF YET. I HAD TO PAID $2,000 TO REPLACE. NEVER HAD ANY OTHER PROBLEMS. JUST FELT VERY IN UNSAFE WITH THE SYSTEM THAT SUPPOSE TO MAKE ME FEEL SAFE KEPT SAY IT HAS FAILED.
ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING ASSIST STOPPED WORKING WHILE I WAS AT A STOP LIGHT, THE STEERING WHEEL EXPLANATION MARK LIGHT APPEARED TO ILLUMINATE. AT THAT MOMENT I WAS UNABLE TO STEER BOTH RIGHT AND LEFT BUT BY SOME MIRACLE I MANAGED TO GET BACK HOME BY USING ALL MY STRENGTH TO TURN. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY FIRST MADE REPLACE THE BATTERY CLAIMING THAT THE CAR IS SHOWING LOW VOLTAGE AND THAT NOT ENOUGH JUICE IS FLOWING TO THE EPS SYSTEM CAUSING IT NOT TO WORK, WHEN THAT DIDN'T FIX THE ISSUE, THEY RECOMMENDED ME TO REPLACE THE CONTROL UNIT, WHEN THAT DIDN'T FIX THE ISSUE, THEY RECOMMENDED TO REPLACE THE MOTOR ON THE RACK. AT THIS MOMENT I CALLED HONDA AND MADE THEM AWARE OF THE SITUATION AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT HELP. AND NOW I AM WRITING THIS INCIDENT TO SPREAD AWARENESS ON THIS ISSUE. MY CAR HAS 66,000 MILES ON IT AND HAS BEEN ALWAYS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED. POWER STEERING TO START CAUSING ISSUES THIS SOON IS REALLY SAD, AND FOR HONDA NOT TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT KNOWING IT IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE IS HIGHLY UNACCEPTABLE. I AM DISAPPOINTED IN HONDA FOR PUTTING THEIR CUSTOMERS LIVES IN DANGER.
REF PRIOR COMPLAINTS 11048722, 11035177, 11003743... ON 1/9/18, A NEW REMANUFACTURED STARTER PURCHASED FROM HONDA, WAS INSTALLED IN THIS VEHICLE. MILEAGE WAS 64740. TODAY, 2/22/18, THE GRINDING NOISE OCCURRED ON ONE START ATTEMPT - THIS IS THE FIRST ISSUE WITH THE NEW STARTER - MILEGAE IS 65880. SO, IN JUST OVER 1100 MILES, 1 1/2 MO, AND AN AVERAGE OF MAYBE 40 TO 50 STARTS/WEEK, THE PROBLEM IS RESURFACING. I HAD THIS VEHICLE AT HONDA TO COMPLETE A PRIOR RECALL - ON 12/13/17 AND IT DID NOT START THERE. SERVICE MANAGER MADE EXCUSE ABOUT THE REPLACEMENT STARTER NOT BEING FROM HONDA... WELL - THIS ONE IS... SOMETHING IN THE SYSTEM SOMEWHERE IS CAUSING THIS ISSUE. WHILE IT MANIFESTS AS A MECHANICAL GRINDING, CLICKING NOISE, IT IS AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE IN THE SYSTEM AS HAS BEEN NOTED BEFORE, AND IT IS VERY RANDOM... HOW AM I GOING TO BE ABLE TO RE-SELL A VEHICLE WITH SUCH A PROBLEM - A HONDA DESIGN FLAW HAS CAUSED CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE TO THE CAR'S VALUE, NOT TO MENTION EXPENSES AND TIME LOST. AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 10 MINUTES ORANGE STEERING WHEEL WITH EXCLAMATORY SIGN CAME ON DASHBOARD.WAS UNABLE TO TURN LEFT OR RIGHT BUT ONLY BACK AND FORWARD. THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED 3 TIMES.
STARTING IN DEC. 2017 THE ENGINE STARTER WOULD NOT START THE CAR AT TIMES. PROBLEM CONTINUED TO OCCUR SO I TOOK THE CAR TO THE HONDA SERVICE DEALERSHIP AND HAD TO HAVE A NEW ENGINE STARTER PUT IN. MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ONLINE WITH 2013-2014 HONDA ACCORD ENGINE STARTER FAILING JUST OUT OF THE HONDA MILEAGE/YEAR WARRANTY, YET HONDA DOES NOT CHOSE TO FIX THE PROBLEM WITH A RECALL FOR THIS PART.
THE KEYLESS ENTRY ALLOWS THE CAR TO BE DRIVEN WITHOUT HAVING THE KEY IN THE CAR. ACCORDING TO HONDA, THIS IS A FEATURE. AS I HAVE HAD TO DRIVE MANY MILES TO BRING THE KEY (WHICH WAS IN THE CAR WHEN IT WAS STARTED, BUT LEFT IN THE HOUSE BEFORE DRIVING OFF) TO MY HUSBAND BECAUSE HE DIDN'T REALIZE HE DID NOT HAVE HIS KEY UNTIL HE WENT TO START HIS CAR. HE WAS 9 MILES AWAY FROM OUR HOME. IN MY MIND, THIS IS A PROBLEM BECAUSE YOU CAN BECOME STRANDED WITHOUT KNOWING IT.
STATIONARY. PUSH BUTTON START MAKING A GRINDING NOISE AND NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS FOR VEHICLE TO START.
WHEN I START THE CAR IT WOULDN'T START ALL THE TIME, SPORADICALLY I WOULD GET NO START. THE LIGHT, ACC, RADIO, NAV EVERYTHING TURNS ON BUT THE ENGINE WONT START. I TRY AGAIN FEW TIMES IT WILL START, I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN JULY 2014, 31000 MILES ON IT TILL DATE. I NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP IN MAY 2017, THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT UNTIL THE WARRANTY PERIOD EXPIRED THEN THEY SOLD ME A BATTERY THINKING THAT WOULD SOLVE THE "NO START" PROBLEM. I CALLED HONDA AND INQUIRED AFTER RESEARCHING THE INTERNET THEY REFUSED TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM UNTIL THEIR DEALERSHIP IS ABLE TO RE CREATE IT. 3 MONTHS LATER THE PROBLEM BECAME SO WORSE I WOULD GET NO START 2ND/3RD TIME I START THE CAR, I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP AND THEY IDENTIFIED IT'S THE STARTER AND WOULD COST ME $1000 TO REPLACE. ONCE THE STARTER WAS REPLACED, I HAD THE PROBLEM RESURFACE 4 TIMES THAT MONTH. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED THE DEFECTIVE STARTER AGAIN UNDER WARRANTY. 3 WEEKS LATER I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, 4 TIMES NO START IN THE SAME WEEK, I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN AND THEY ROTATED THE GEAR PINION RING/ADJUSTED THE TORQUE CONVERTER AS PER HONDA. THE PROBLEM HAS NOT HAPPENED SINCE, THESE SERVICE GUYS AT THE DEALERSHIP I'M GOING ARE EXCELLENT BUT I CANT IMAGINE I'M DRIVING HONDA 'S TOP OF THE CLASS ACCORD EX-L WHICH IS SO VERY UNRELIABLE.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 34,000.

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED LACERATIONS TO THE HEAD AND LEFT HAND. THE CONTACT WAS TRANSPORTED TO A TRAUMA HOSPITAL FOR MEDICAL ATTENTION. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC OR DEALER TO DETERMINE THE SEAT BELT FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
'TAKATA RECALL' RECENTLY I PURCHASED A 2014 HONDA ACCORD FROM A DEALERSHIP WHICH MADE THIS MY FIRST CAR EVER. EVERYTHING WAS GOING RIGHT UP UNTIL 3 MONTHS OF ME HAVING THE CAR. MY BRAKES WENT OUT WITHOUT ME KNOWING BECAUSE SOMEONE FROM THAT DEALERSHIP BROKE OFF THE LITTLE CHIP THAT MAKES THE SQUEAKING NOISE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO EXPLAIN TO THEM WHAT HAD HAPPEN SHOWING THEM THE EVIDENCE AND THEY MADE IT SEEM LIKE I WAS LYING WHILE DRIVING ON HWY 16 I ENDED UP HAVING A BLOWOUT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF MY CAR AND MESSED MY FRONT FENDER UP. TWO(2)MONTHS AFTER THAT IN MARCH I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW BATTERY BECAUSE THE BATTERY THAT CAME WITH THE CAR HAD DIED OUT. PRIOR TO THAT I NEVER KNEW THE ALTERNATIVE WAS THE REASON FOR THE BATTERY TO CONSTANTLY DIE OUT. ON MARCH 15 2018 I WENT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO LET THEM KNOW AND EVEN INSPECT MY CAR WHEN ONE OF THE MANAGER CAME TO TALK TO ME HE SAID THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING THEY COULD DO BECAUSE MY WARRANTY WAS ONLY 30DAYS. NOW NOT KNOWING ANYTHING ABOUT A WARRANTY HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO KNOW OR KNEW ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS WERE GOING TO HAPPEN. WHEN I ASKED ABOUT A MANUFACTURER WARRANTY I WAS TOLD I DIDN'T HAVE ONE AND THEY WERE NOT GOING TO HELP ME WITH MY CAR. MAY 10 2018 MY FRIEND FOUND OUT SHE HAD A RECALL ON HER STARTER AND WENT AND GOT ANOTHER ONE. NOW WHEN I LOCKED UP THE HONDA RECALLS I SEEN THERE WERE TWO: ONE FOR THE BATTERY AND THE SECOND WAS FOR THE STARTER. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN LEAVING VOICEMAILS AFTER VOICEMAIL UNTIL I COULDN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE AND JUST WENT UP THERE. AS I WALK IN I ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE PERSON WHO WAS IN A HIRE POSITION. AS WE ARE TALKING HE ASK ME HOW LONG I HAD THE CAR, HOW MANY MILES, AND THE QUESTION OF ALL WHEN IS YOUR WARRANTY EXPIRED. AFTER HE FOUND OUT THE WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO FOR ME. I PAY 400 AND HAVEN'T HAD THE CAR FOR A YEAR YET.

CONTACT GILLMAN HONDA IN HOUSTON, TEXAS REGARDING TAKATA AIRBAG INFLATORS RECALL. I WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALERSHIPS SAYING SUCH RECALL IS NOT EXISTING FOR MY VEHICLE.
OIL LIFE AT 40%. CAR WAS MAKING NOISE. WHILE DRIVING AND PRESSED ON BRAKES ...OIL PRESSURE LIGHT WOULD TURN ON AND OFF. CHECKED OIL ON CAR. NO DROP OF OIL IN THE ENGINE. EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. NO LEAKS.. CARBON FOUND ON CYLINDERS, INSIDE ENGINE AND ON PINSTON RINGS. THIS IS NOT NORMAL ESPECIALLY WHEN CONSISTENT OIL CHANGES, FUEL INJECTION WAS CLEANED, AND CVT TRANSMISSION IS ALSO REPLACED CONSISTENTLY. I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR 6MONTHS AGO. ENGINE IS CURRENTLY DISMANTLED AND WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER! COMPLETELY UPSETTING!
VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN APARKING LOT AS I HAD TO DO A QUICK ERRAND AT COSTCO. CAR WAS TURNED OFF WITH FAN RUNNING. MY WIFE STAYED BACK IN THE CAR. AFTER I CAME BACK AFTER ABOUT 15-20 MINS, THE TRUNK WONT OPEN AND ALL DASHBOARD LIGHTS IN CAR WERE OFF. CAR WONT START AT ALL. I TRIED STARTING FOR FEW MINS WITHOUT FAIL. LUCKILY I COULD JUMP START THE CAR USING THE JUMP START KIT IN COSTCO TIRE CENTRE. I TOOK IN THE CAR TO DEALER AS THIS HAD HAPPENED BEFORE AND BATTERY HAD TO BE REPLACED. THIS TIME AROUND EVERYTHING WAS OK. DEALER ADVISED ME TO NOT RUN THE ACCESORIES WITHOUT CAR ENGINE RUNNING. DEALER MENTIONED THAT IN ORDER TO KEEP CAR WEIGHT LOW, MANUFACTURERS ARE SWITCHING TO SMALLER AND SMALLER BATTERIES. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS THE OCCUPANTS ARE AT PHYSICAL RISK IF THIS HAPPENS IN THE A DESOLATE PLACE OR CAR COULD BE UNAVAILABLE IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. MITIGATIONS EXPECTED ARE (1) CAR COMPUTERS SHOULD DETECT BATTERY DRAIN AND AUTOMATICALLY SHUT OFF TO ALLOW FOR CAR TO START, (2) HAVE A SECONDARY BATTERY BACKUP JUST FOR THESE SITUATIONS, (3) THERE IS SHOULD BE OPTION TO SWITCH TO A BIGGER BATTERY.
