I NOTICED WHEN MY CAR IS RUNNING(STATIONARY) WITH HEAT ON AND HEADLIGHTS ON AFTER COUPLE OF MINUTES IT MAKES A CLICK NOICE WHICH AFFECTS THE LIGHTS(HEADLIGHTS). WHEN CAR IS MOVING (IN MOTION) ALL OF A SUDDEN LIGHTS BECOME SUPER DIM AS IF THEY ARE BARELY ANY LIGHTS. SOME DAYS LIGHTS WORK AS IF THEY ARE BRAND NEW AND COVERS THE ENTIRE STREET.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED SEVERAL TIMES WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE RECHARGED MORE THAN ONCE TO START. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS MOISTURE AND CORROSION BUILDING UP NEAR THE BATTERY CAPS. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V418000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE DEALER (PLANET HONDA, 2285 ROUTE 22 WEST, UNION, NJ 07083, (908) 964-1600) STATED THAT THEY PROVIDED THE REMEDY FOR THE RECALL AND THE FAILURE WAS NOT RELATED TO THE BATTERY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE AIRBAG RECALL AT ALL!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STARTER ON THE VEHICLE WAS DEFECTIVE AND PREVENTED THE VEHICLE FROM STARTING. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED BEFORE OR AFTER THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MATT CASTRUCCI HONDA (3013 MALL PARK DR, DAYTON, OH) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STARTER MOTOR FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000.
ALONG THE ROOF-LINE WHERE THE ROOF MEETS THE BACK WINDSHIELD THE PAINT IS PEELING AWAY AND IT GETTING PROGRESSIVE WORSE. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ONLINE AS WITH HONDA AND THEIR DEALERSHIP. ITS A KNOWN ISSUE AND NEED ADDRESSING. MY VEHICLE HAS 40+K MILE AND GARAGE KEPT...EXTREMELY WELL MAINTAINED AND NO ACCIDENTS AND NO ISSUES AT ALL. MY VEHICLE IS ALWAYS IN THE GARAGE...MY COMMUTE DISTANCE IS 2 MILES FROM MY HOME. SEE PHOTOS OF CONDITION OF VEHICLE AND PAINT PEELING AWAY/FLAKING OFF AT THE ROOF-LINE. I HAVE BEEN A HONDA OWNER FOR OVER 3 DECADES WITH MANY DIFFERENT HONDA PRODUCTS INCLUDING THEIR LAWNMOWERS! PLEASE REVIEW AND ASSIST. THIS IS 3RD COMPLAINT! SEE PRIOR COMPLAINTS - 11003743 AND 11035177. AS NOTED BEFORE, MILEAGE (WHEN PROBLEM STARTED) IN 2ND COMPLAINT MORE ACCURATE. ORIGINAL STARTER REPLACED AT JUST UNDER 60K MILES. MILEAGE NOW AT 63730. CAR FAILED TO START NO MATTER WHAT!!! ON 11/22/17, TRIED JUMP STARTING, P OR N, PUT CAR IN R AND ROLLED BACK A FOOT, THEN P OR N - NOTHING. PUSHED BUTTON - NO NOISE... NO CLICKING, GRINDING... TRIED FOR OVER 30 MINUTES... BATTERY GOOD, REMOTE GOOD, CONNECTIONS GOOD, DASH LIGHTS ALL APPEAR NORMAL. TOWED TO MECHANIC - REPLACED STARTER AGAIN. HE STARTED IT 20+ TIMES - SEEMED OK, MOVED IT TO HIS PARKING AREA. ON 11/25 I PICKED IT UP - WENT TO START IT - GOT GRINDING NOISE - HEARD BY MECHANIC. STARTED 3RD TIME. HAS DONE THIS - EITHER GRINDING OR SPINNING NOISE 3 TIMES ALREADY TODAY(11/25) - EVEN AFTER I GOT HOME, WHILE TRYING 'DEAD REMOTE' KEY STARTING PROCEDURE... WOULD MAKE NOISES, THEN START 2ND OR 3RD TIME. THIS IS VERY SERIOUS! PLEASE PUSH THE INVESTIGATION! HONDA SHOULD REIMBURSE FOR COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS AND COME UP WITH A FIX. I THINK IF ONE EXAMINES THE CHANGES THEY HAVE MADE TO THIS VEHICLE AFTER 2015, ONE CAN SEE THAT THEY KNEW OF A PROBLEM AND TOOK STEPS TO FIX IT. JUST HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF US WHO ARE 'STUCK'. NOTE - REPLACEMENT STARTER IS A BENDIX AFTERMARKET WITH LIFETIME WARRANTY - THIS IS NOT A STARTER PROBLEM - IT IS A DESIGN FLAW CAUSING STARTER PROBLEMS AND/OR CAUSING NO/LOW/IMPROPER VOLTAGE OR CURRENT TO BE APPLIED TO THE STARTER.
I NOTICED THAT BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND 4 DIFFERENT WARNING LIGHTS CAME OUT AT THE SAME TIME(ABS, BRAKE, VSA, ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING), I WENT TO BRAMAN HONDA DEALER LOCATED AT 7000 CORAL WAY MIAMI, FL.33155 ON 11/20/17, THEY CHANGED VSA MODULATOR AND THEY CHARGED ME $1263.09. SINCE THIS HAVE TO DO WITH SAFETY AND THE VEHICLE ONLY HAD 29,000MILES, I DECIDED TO CONTACT AMERICAN HONDA BUT THEY DID NOT HELP ME TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR BECAUSE THE WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED. I REALLY WOULD LIKE SOMEONE TO INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE AND CALL FOR SAFETY RECALL ASAP SINCE I COULD BE DEAD. I KNOW THAT MANY OTHER HONDAS FROM SAME YEAR ARE REPORTING SAME COMPLAINT. I WAS HIT ON THE DRIVERSIDE DOOR BY A FREIGHT TRUCK. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. BANGED MY HEAD ON THE SIDE OF THE DOOR.
MY 2014 ACCORD EX SEDAN IS ON RECALL NOTICE AND I AM HAVING A FINAL REPAIR ON THE BATTERY MANAGEMENT SENOR NEXT WEEK. FOR SEVERAL WEEKS I AM EXPERIENCING AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM INTERMITTENTLY TRYING TO START MY CAR. WHEN I PUSH THE START BUTTON WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL SOMETIMES THE CARE DOES NOT START. I HAVE HAD THE CAR SINCE NOV. 2013 AND HAVE ONLY HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR THE PAST FEW WEEKS. ALL SYMBOLS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHT UP AND QUICKLY GO OFF AND I GET A NOTICE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL "POWER IS ON": WHEN I PUSH THE BUTTON AGAIN 1-3 TIMES, THE CAR STARTS. I HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS WITH STALLING OR CUTTING OFF WHILE IN MOTION. MY BATTERY IS ONLY 2 YR. OLD. AND IT WAS JUST CHECKED LAST MONTH AND THE CHARGE WAS OK. CLEARLY THERE IS A SHORT AFFECTING IGNITION OF THE IGNITION OF THE ENGINE. THE PROBLEM I HAVE DESCRIBED HAS SO FAR ONLY OCCURRED WHEN THE CAR IS STATIONARY. I ONLY HAVE 42,000 MILES ON THE CAR AND SO THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING AND IS QUITE DISTURBING; IT CAN BECOME A MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEM. I KNOW THAT NHTSA HAS ISSUED HONDA ELECTRICAL SYSTEM CAMPAIGNS F/ RECALL NOTICES FOR OTHER HONDA VEHICLES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, BUT YET FOR MY 2014 SEDAN. IT NEEDS TO BE INCLUDED. FROM REVIEWING THE NHTSA COMPLAINT DATABASE IT IS CLEAR THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM BY NHTSA AND HONDA AND NEEDS TO BE DEALT WITH. I AM REQUESTING THAT THIS COMPLAINT BE EXPEDITIOUSLY INVESTIGATED AND THE PROBLEM FOR MY CAR AND IS RECOGNIZED AS A SYSTEMIC PROBLEM FOR MULTIPLE HONDA PRODUCTS FOR MANY YEARS AND HONDA FIGURE OUT A PERMANENT SOLUTION. I AM REQUESTING THAT HONDA COVERS THE COST OF PARTS/LABOR TO FIX EVEN THOUGH I AM PAST THE REGULAR WARRANTY PERIOD (EXCEPT I AM STILL WITHIN THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY ) THIS WEEK (NOVEMBER 13 TO 11/17) PROBLEM OCCURRED 4 TIMES.

HONDA STATED DUE TO WARRANTY EXPIRATION THEY WOULD HAVE TO CHARGE HER FOR A NEW BATTERY. CONTACT STATED SHE HAD BATTERY RECALL FIXED IN NOVEMBER HAD LETTER FROM HONDA PRIOR TO BEING FIXED.. CONTACT STATED AFTER PAYING FOR NEW BATTERY SHE CALLED HONDA MANUFACTURER AND HONDA HAD STATED THEY WOULD NOT REIMBURSE HER DUE TO VEHICLE HAVING NO WARRANTY...CONTACT FILED A COMPLAINT..... ..... 0 RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS VIN
I WANT THIS PIECE OF💩 FIXED ONCE AND FOR ALL, I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER HONDA AGAIN, I WILL ALSO PASS THE WORD HONDA IS ABSOLUTE GARBAGE, IF YOU KNOW WHAT'S GOOD FOR YOU BETTER REPLY VERY QUICKLY, OR IT WON'T BE PRETTY, BUNCH OF MORONS!
SO, YESTERDAY I FOUND MYSELF FACED WITH A DEAD BATTERY AFTER PARKING IN A PARKING LOT AND GOING INTO A STORE FOR 10 MINUTES, AND CALLED AAA OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. THEY DISPATCHED ROY'S TOWING WHO ARRIVED WITHING ABOUT 20 MINUTES OF THE INITIAL CALL. IAN, THE SERVICE TECH, CHECKED THE BATTERY AND FOUND IT ONLY HAD 18 COLD CRANKING AMPS, (IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE AROUND 500) I WAS TAKEN ABACK, AS THE CAR IS NOT THAT OLD AND VERY LOW MILEAGE. HE WENT ONE STEP FURTHER AND CHECKED THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND IT'S CHARGING CAPACITY, WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE JUST FINE. THE CAR IS JUST OVER 3 YEARS OLD AND HAD ONLY 27,414 MILES ON IT. I RECENTLY WAS IN TO HAVE A BATTERY SENSOR REPLACED DUE TO A POSSIBLE SHORT, BUT THE DEALER JUST SPREAD SOME SEALER ON IT. COULD THIS BE THE PROBLEM? WE HAVE ALREADY HAD TO REPLACE THE STARTER MOTOR ASSEMBLY AND THE ALTERNATOR, THIS AT 16, 212 MILES.. NOW THAT WE ARE OUT OF WARRANTY,THE BATTERY, INSTALLATION, ETC. COST $123.00 TOTAL. I HAVE CHECKED THE INTERNET AND HAVE FOUND MANY COMPLAINTS OF THIS NATURE WITH STARTER, ALTERNATOR AND FAILING BATTERIES AT LOW MILEAGE FOR THE 2014 HONDA ACCORD. A WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM?

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND REQUIRED EXCESSIVE EFFORT TO OPERATE THE VEHICLE NORMALLY. ALSO, THE POWER STEERING ASSIST WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. TAMERON HONDA (1675 MONTGOMERY HWY, BIRMINGHAM, AL) DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING GEAR BOX WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 68,000.
I RECEIVED A NOTICE FOR NHTSA RECALL 17V-418 IN AUGUST 2017. I HAVE MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO GET THIS ISSUE RESOLVED WITH THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP. IT'S CURRENTLY NOVEMBER AND I AM STILL UNABLE TO GET THIS MATTER RESOLVED.
BOTH OF MY BACK TIRES GOT CUPPING ON THE INSIDE. I TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS AN ALIGNMENT ISSUE OR LACK OF ROTATION. I HAVE CHECKED A COUPLE OF CARS FROM MY NEIGHBORS AND THEY HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. THEIR TIRES ARE DAMAGE. I TOOK THE CAR TO MY MECHANIC AND HE SAID THE STRUTS ARE THE PROBLEM.
MY VEHICLE IS HAVING STARTING ISSUES. ON SOME MORNINGS, IT WILL TAKE ABOUT 15 OR MORE TIMES TO ACTUALLY START MY VEHICLE, AND SOME MORNINGS IT WILL TURN OVER IMMEDIATELY. IT IS VERY DISTURBING BECAUSE I HAVE A 2014 VEHICLE AND SHOULD NOT BE HAVING ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT AS FAR AS IT STARTING. I HAVE ALSO BEEN INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON NEWER HONDAS FOR THIS EXACT REASON, THE STARTER. AS ALWAYS, MY VEHICLE IS STATIONARY WHEN TRYING TO START IT.
UPDATE TO PRIOR - VEHICLE STARTER WAS REPLACED WITH NEW AFTERMARKET UNIT, PROBLEM RESUMED AFTER A FEW WEEKS. PUSHING START BUTTON EXHIBITING NUMEROUSLY REPORTED PROBLEMS AND SEVERAL ATTEMPTS REQUIRED TO GET IT TO START. HAD THE BATTERY SENSOR RECALL ITEM HONDA # KHO (THE INSPECTION AND RE-SEALING) DONE ON 10/18/17 - THAT NIGHT IT HAD THE SAME STARTING ISSUE... NO LINK WITH THE SENSOR (AT LEAST THE 'BAND-AID' FIX). I THEN CHECKED AND TIGHTENED THE NUTS AT BOTH ENDS OF THE BATTERY GROUND-TO-CHASSIS CABLE - WE'LL SEE IF THAT HELPS - THERE WAS NO SIGN OF CORROSION, BUT THE NUT DID TURN ABOUT 1/2 TURN AT THE CHASSIS SIDE... NOW HAVE 62600 MILES ON VEHICLE AND THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE ABOUT 39K... WE REALLY NEED A GOOD SOLID FIX - AND IF IT REALLY IS A STARTER PLACEMENT ISSUE, NEED A SOLUTION! AND HONDA NEEDS TO REIMBURSE EVERYONE FOR COSTS TO DATE!
THE AIR BAG EXPLODED ON THE COLLISION ON A STREET AND CAUSED SEVERE BURNS ON HER HANDS. PLEASE SEE THE PICTURES BELOW. THIS IS CAUSING HER IMMENSE PAIN AND TRAUMA AND SHE IS HAVING TROUBLE PERFORMING DAY TO DAY ACTIVITIES. THE INJURIES SHE SUFFERED BECAUSE OF THE AIRBAG WERE MORE THAN THE ACTUAL COLLISION. THIS IS CAUSING HER TO GO IN DEPRESSION AND SHE IS SCARED OF THE AIRBAG, MORE THAN ANYTHING NOW. THE CAR IS BEYOND REPAIR AND IS BEING SALVAGED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY.
THIS DISPUTE RELATED TO 2014 HONDA ACCORD SAFETY RECALL 17V-418. BECAUSE OF THE DEFECTIVE DESIGN AND MANUFACTURING, MOISTURE IS ENTERING INTO THE BATTERY SYSTEM AND CAUSING SERIOUS DAMAGE TO THE BATTERY SYSTEM WHICH IS THE SOURCE OF ABOVE RECALL. A MONTH BEFORE RECEIVING THE RECALL NOTICE, MY CALL STALLED AT A GAS STATION ON OCTOBER 12, 2017 AND THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALER. DEALER DISCOVERED THAT SEVERE CORROSION DAMAGED THE BATTERY POSITIVE CABLE AND THE CABLE BROKE OFF. THE TOTAL COST TO REPLACE THE CABLE AND BATTERY WAS $735.52. BASED ON THE DESCRIPTION OF THE RECALL 17V-418, THE ISSUE WE EXPERIENCED IS RELATED. DUE TO THE DESIGN FLAW, THE MOISTURE IS DAMAGING VARIOUS COMPONENTS OF THE BATTERY SYSTEM. I FILED A CLAIM (CASE # 06489520) WITH HONDA FOR REIMBURSEMENT BUT MY REQUEST HAS BEEN DENIED. THIS HAPPENED A FEW MONTHS AFTER THE 3RD ANNIVERSARY OF THE PURCHASE. THE SOURCE OF THE ISSUE IS THAT MOISTURE ENTERING THE BATTERY SYSTEM AND THE HONDA SHOULD TAKE THE RESPONSIBILITY AND REIMBURSE THE COST OF REPAIR. THE TOTAL COST OF THE REPAIR IS $735.52 + $65 (TOWING) = $800.52.
THE CAR CONSUME OIL AND SOMETIMES THE OIL LEVEL COMPLETELY DRIED UP AT A MILEAGE OF 2500 MILES AND I HAVE TO CHANGE THE OIL LEVEL REGULARLY BECAUSE THERE IS NO MESSAGE IS POPPING UP TO WARN ME.
WHEN I TURN THE KEY TO START CAR NOTHING HAPPENS ( NO WARNING LIGHTS NOTHING BLANK) THEN AFTER 2 OR 3 ATTEMPTS CAR STARTS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE AND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG INDEPENDENTLY DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING OR IMPACT. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE RIGHT ARM AND NECK, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TOWED TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNKNOWN.
MY CAR KEPT SHUTTING DOWN.I HAD TO KEEP JUMPING IT EVERY TIME I STARTED IT. I TOOK IT TO SHOP AND THEY MADE ME PAY $130 FOR NEW BATTERY. I FEEL IT WAS RELATED TO BATTERY RECALL AND I SHOULDNT HAVE HAD TO PAY. BUT THEY SAID THERE WAS A BAD CELL IN IT AND IT WASNT RELATED TO THE RECALL
I HAVE BEEN DOING THE SERVICE WITH HONDA OF CONCORD SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM THEM SINCE 2015. MY CAR TIRES GOT BURSTED THIS YEAR(2017) AND I WENT WITH MY INSURANCE THROUGH HONDA OF CONCORD COLLISION CENTER TO FIX THE SAME. DURING JAN 2017, THE HONDA CHECKED ALL MY TIRES AS PER MY INSURANCE FIXES ONLY 2 TIRES AND NEVER REPORTED ANY ISSUES WITH MY OTHER 2 TIRES. EVEN THE SERVICE STATION, WHERE I HAD BEEN DOING MY SERVICE SINCE 2015, DID NOT SUGGEST OR DID MY TIRE ALIGNMENT. HOWEVER, PROACTIVELY, I DID MY TIRE ALIGNMENT @ 26000 MILES, WHEN HONDA OF CONCORD COLLISION CENTER REPLACED MY TIRES. AFTER THAT I HAVE DONE TIRE ROTATIONS, ROUTINE CHECK WITH OIL FILLS WITH HONDA OF CONCORD SERVICE STATION. SINCE MY SERVICE, IN THE PAST ONE MONTH, I HAD MY TPMS LIGHT ON FOR 3 TIMES, EVERY TIME I CALLED HONDA, THEY ASKED ME TO RESET IT MYSELF IN THE CAR, WHICH I DID. BUT, I FELT BEFORE MY WARRANTY EXPIRES AROUND 36 K MILES, I CALLED IN HONDA FOR APPOINTMENT SEP 2017. TODAY, WHEN I DROPPED MY CAR, HONDA SERVICE GUYS CALLED ME AND SAID, I OWN RESPONSIBILITY IN CHANGING MY TIRES WHICH HAS WEAR AND TEAR COVER TILL 60 K MILES AND I SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY TO CHANGE BRAKES AT REAR END, FLUIDS, ETC ETC.. WHEN I ASKED ABOUT MY WARRANTY ON TIRES AND BRAKES.. THEY WERE RELUCTANT AND SAID ITS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE ALL OF A SUDDEN. I HAD GIVEN CAR FOR SERVICE ONLY A MONTH BACK, WHERE I ASKED THEM TO CHECK EVERYTHING AND I BELIEVE, THEY DID NOT DO ANYTHING, SINCE THEY ARE REPORTING ME NOW TO DRIVE AS UNSAFE AND NOT AT THE TIME OF TIRE ROTATION OR CHECKS. THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON. I'D BRING MY CAR INTO THE DEALER TO CHECK MY TIRES, RE-INFLATE MY TIRES AND RESET THE LIGHT, AND THE LIGHT WOULD COME BACK ON A COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER. THIS HAS HAPPENED REPEATEDLY. I'M TIRED OF TAKING MY CAR EVERY TIME THIS HAPPENS, AND HAVING TO CHECK MY TIRES SEEMINGLY ALL THE TIME.
HONDA STARTER REPLACED UNDER 36K MILES BUT OUT OF WARRANTY BY TIMEFRAME. HONDA REFUSES T REIMBURSE FOR THE REPLACEMENT STARTER EVENTHOUGH THEY WERE NOTIFIED BEFORE THE VEHICLE REACHED 36K MILES. THE 2014 HONDA ACCORD V6 HAD THE SAME ISSUE AND A SERVICE BULLETIN WAS ISSUED WHERE THE STARTER WAS REPLACED (HTTPS://WWW.CARS.COM/ARTICLES/2013-2015-HONDA-ACCORD-CROSSTOUR-STARTER-ISSUE-1420684480836/ ) THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING ISSUE FOR VEHICLES THAT ARE NOT WITHIN THIS SERVICE BULLETIN BUT HONDA WILL NOT REPAIR DOESN'T SEEM FAIR TO THE CONSUMER THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND LEAVE US TO FIGHT TO TRY TO GET THEM TO DO WHATS RIGHT. AS SOON AS MY WARRANTY RAN OUT, A LITTLE OVER 3 YRS AND CLOSE TO 40,000 MILES, MY STARTER WENT BAD. SINCE IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY, WE HAD THE STARTER REPLACED IN LATE 2017. MY STARTER STARTED MAKING NOISES AGAIN AND WOULD NOT START SPORADICALLY WITHIN A YEAR. IT HAS GRADUALLY STARTED HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY. MY CAR IS 5 YRS OLD AND HAS 90 000 + MILES, AND IS GOING TO NEED A 2ND STARTER REPLACED. SOMETHING HAS TO BE BURNING UP MY STARTER.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,974. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE BATTERY DIES INTERMITTENTLY FOR NO REASON. I HAD THEM TEMPORARY FIX DONE IN JULY OF 2017. I DIDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE BATTERY UNTIL THIS WEEK. I HAVE HAD THE BATTERY DIE TWICE THIS WEEK. THE CAR STARTS FINE SOME DAYS AND OTHERS IT WON'T. I CALLED HONDA AND THEY TOLD ME THE RECALL HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BATTERY STAYING CHARGED.

LOSS OF ENGINE POWER MAY RESULT IN A VEHICLE STALL,INCREASING THE RISK OF CRASH.IF THE ENGINE LEAKS OIL IN THE PROXIMITY OF HOT ENGINE OR EXHAUST COMPONENTS,THERE IS AN INCREASED RISK OF A FIRE. HONDAS NUMBER FOR THIS RECALL IS JP2.I SEE SOME OIL BETWEEN BLOCK CYLINDER AND HEAD OF MY CAR.
I WAS DRIVING IN THE LEFT HAND LANE ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE STEERING WENT STIFF. THE STEERING WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. THE CAR HAD NO POWER STEERING. I MOVED INTO THE RIGHT HAND LANE, EXITED THE HIGHWAY AND MADE IT HOME. I DIDN'T HAVE AN ACCIDENT BUT THE CAR WAS EXTREMELY HARD TO STEER, ESPECIALLY AT SLOWER SPEEDS. WHEN I RESTARTED THE CAR THE NEXT DAY, THE WARNING LIGHT WAS OFF AND THE POWER STEERING WORKED. I THEN TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THERE WAS A FAULT CODE FOR THE STEERING. THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM SO THEY ERASED THE FAULT CODE, REBOOTED THE COMPUTER AND SAID IT MIGHT FIX THE PROBLEM BUT IF NOT THE EPS (ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING) RACK WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED FOR THE ESTIMATED COST OF $2140. THE ACCORD HAD 60,900 MILES ON IT WHEN THIS MALFUNCTION OCCURRED; 235 MILES LATER, I LOST POWER STEERING AGAIN AND HAD THE REPAIR DONE.
MY 2014 ACCORD, PURCHASED IN APRIL 2014, BEGAN BURNING OIL AND HAD TO HAVE EXTENSIVE WORK/REPAIRS DONE. ACCORDING TO A RECALL NOTICE ON MODELS MANUFACTURED SHORTLY AFTER MINE, A SIMILAR ISSUE OCCURRED. I WAS INFORMED BY THE SERVICE CENTER THAT THEY HAD SEEN SEVERAL CARS THE SAME MODEL AS MINE WITH THE SAME ISSUE BUT NO RECALL NOTICE HAD BEEN ISSUED YET. IF NOT ALREADY DONE, I BELIEVE THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO FOR A POTENTIAL RECALL. I CAN SEND DOCUMENTS OF WHAT WORK WAS DONE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO OPEN RECALLS RELATED TO THE AIR BAGS. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT OFFER ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND VIN WERE UNKNOWN.
ONE MORNING WHILE DRIVING MY DAUGHTER TO DAYCARE I NOTICED THE SMELL OF GASOLINE. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE MECHANIC AND HE DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE AS A FAULTY HIGH PRESSURE FUEL LINE (THE LINE FROM THE GAS TANK TO THE FRONT OF THE CAR). UPON RECEIVING THE REPLACEMENT PART THE MECHANIC NOTED THAT THE NEW FUEL LINE HAS AN ADDITIONAL INSULATOR THAT PREVENTS THIS EXACT ISSUE. I'VE SEEN THIS REPORTED ELSEWHERE AS "POSSIBLE RODENT DAMAGE" BUT THIS IS CLEARLY AN ISSUE HONDA IS AWARE OF BUT NOT ADDRESSING VIA A RECALL.
WENT TO START CAR. WOULD NOT START ON FIRST TRY. TRIED AGAIN AND PUT CAR IN REVERSE TO BACK OUT OF GARAGE. PUT CAR IN PARK AND NOTICED THE DASHBOARD LIT UP LIKE A CHRISTMAS TREE. FCW FAILED, LDW, AIR BAG, CHECK ENGINE, POWER STEERING ABS & TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHTS ALL CAME ON! TURNED CAR OFF & STARTED CALLING TO MAKE APPT WITH DEALERSHIP. THE DEALER WE BOUGHT CAR FROM HAD A RESPONSE OF "NEXT AVAILABLE APPT IS TUESDAY". WHEN I TRIED TO TELL HER WHAT WAS WRONG SHE REPEATED "NEXT AVAILABLE APPT IS TUESDAY" CLICK. OKAY, SINCE I PAID FOR A 7 YEAR EXTENDED WARRANTY I CALLED A DIFFERENT DEALER. MILLENNIUM HONDA HAD AN APPT FOR 1:00PM. I IMMEDIATELY BROUGHT IT IN. WAITED FOR OVER 4 HOURS BEFORE ASKING ABOUT MY CAR. "OH, WE HAVEN'T GOTTEN TO YOUR CAR YET. BUT IT SHOULD BE GOING ON THE LIFT PRETTY SOON." IT WAS AFTER 5:00PM WHEN I WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO GET TO MY CAR ON THURSDAY. I ASKED FOR A LOANER CAR & DECIDED THAT IT WAS BETTER THAT IT BE SEEN FIRST THING NEXT MORNING. FRIDAY MORNING COMES & GOES & I DON'T HEAR FROM THEM SO I DRIVE OVER THERE. THEY HADN'T EVEN PUT MY CAR ON THE LIFT TO CHECK IT YET! WHEN ASKED WHY I WAS TOLD I WAS NEXT. OKAY, THEY PUT MY CAR ON THE LIFT & CHECK IT OUT; TAKE IT FOR A TEST DRIVE; BRING IT BACK. SERVICE MANAGER "RUSS" COMES OVER TO ME AND SAYS THAT THE CAR ISN'T GOING ANYWHERE. THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE HARNESS SYSTEM. HE TELLS ME THAT IT'S DUE TO CORROSION. I ASK HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO FIX? HE THEN TELLS ME THAT THE ENGINE HARNESS IS NOT COVERED UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? HE THEN SAYS THAT IT WOULD COST $2800 TO FIX & THEY HAVE TO ORDER THE PART! I FEEL AS THOUGH MY CAR IS BEING HELD FOR RANSOM. THIS CAR HAS ONLY 12K MILES & IS ONLY A LITTLE OVER 3 YEARS OLD. MY CAR IS INVOLVED IN A BATTERY SENSOR RECALL. COULD THAT BE THE PROBLEM OR IS IT COMMON PRACTICE TO PRICE GOUGE?
I GOT A LETTER IN AUG 2017 ABOUT A "IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL" AND SINCE THEN THE COGGIN HONDA DEALERSHIP OF ORLANDO HAS GIVEN ME NOTHING BUT THE RUN AROUND. THEY ANSWER MY CALLS AND SAY SOMEONE WILL GET BACK TO ME, BUT THAT NEVER HAPPENS TRIED TO REACH THE MANAGER TWICE BUT HE COULD NOT BE REACH THE SALESPERSON NO LONGER THERE. IF MY HONDA HAS AN IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL I AM BEING LED TO BELIEVE THIS DEALERSHIP COULD CARE LESS. WE BOUGHT A HONDA BECAUSE WE FELT IT WAS A TRUSTED NAME AND IMAGINE WE WILL NOT GO VERY FAR OR USE IT MUCH UNTIL THE SAFETY ISSUE RESOLVED. DROVE THE CAR WITHOUT A KEY IT. WE STARTED THE CAR WITH THE KEYLESS START, AND MY SON HAD TO GO INSIDE TO GET SOMETHING IN THE HOUSE BUT FORGOT TO GRAB THE KEYS TO LEAVE (SOMEONE ELSE LOCKED THE HOUSE DOOR) THE CAR WAS ON STILL RUNNING AND WE DROVE OFF. NOW WE ARE STRANDED! I ONLY REALIZED HE DIDN'T GRAB THE KEY WHEN I TRIED LOOKING FOR THEM AFTER WE STOPPED. HONDA SAYS THEY DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING THAT MAKES THIS PREVENTABLE. YOU SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO DRIVE OFF FROM YOUR KEYS! WHAT IF I WAS IN A REMOTE AREA OF THE MOUNTAINS WITH NO CELL SIGNAL?! THIS IS VERY UNSAFE.
BODY: THE TENSION BAR DOES NOT OPEN THE CAR TRUNK LID ALL THE WAY WHICH MORE OFTEN DROPS DOWN AND HIT THE PERSON'S HEAD OR FACE WHO IS PUTTING STUFFS IN THE TRUNK ASSUMING IT IS FULLY OPEN ALL THE WAY. I DID GOT HIT TWICE BY THE CORNER AND EDGE OF THE TRUNK LID ON THE FOREHEAD AND LEFT TEMPLE. THE LATTER CAUSED BRUISE AND PAIN THAT TOOK ME A WEEK TO RECOVER. SHOULD CHANGE WEAK TENSION BAR TO STRONG GAS TUBE OPERATION. ENGINE: THE CAR VIBRATES AND RATTLES UPON PUTTING ON REVERSE GEAR EVEN AFTER AT LEAST A MINUTE WARMUP IN THE MORNING. THE DEALER SAID IT IS NORMAL FOR THIS TYPE OF CAR? THIS IS VERY EMBARRASSING FOR A NEWER CAR. I NEVER SEE THIS IN A TOYOTA CARS THAT I OWNED: SIENNA, AVALON... SEATS: DRIVER SEAT IS NOT WELL DESIGNED AND CAUSING AWKWARD AND UNCOMFORTABLE AND FATIGUE POSITION WHILE DRIVING. THERE IS INSUFFICIENCY OF SUPPORT FOR LUMBAR ARE ( THE CURRENT ONE IS TOO SOFT AND SITTING BACK SO THERE IS VIRTUALLY NO SUPPORT AT ALL). AGAIN TOYOTA CARS SEEM NOT HAVING THIS KIND OF PROBLEM. ALSO, THE DRIVER WINDOW IS NOT TALL ENOUGH THAT EVEN A 5'6" PERSON CAN BANG HIS HEAD TO THE TOP OF THE WINDOW WHEN GETTING UP AND OUT OF THE DRIVE SEAT. IT SHOULD BE 2" TALLER TO AVOID THIS PROBLEM. THEY SHOULD PUT CUSHION TO THE TOP EDGE AND SAFETY GRIP HANDLE AT THE MINIMUM. DRIVING CONDITION: THE CAR SEEMS TO WANDER WHEN RUNNING ON FREEWAY AT NORMAL SPEED.
GETTING INTO MY STATIONARY VEHICLE, REGARDLESS OF LOCATION OF THE CAR, AT ANY TIME OF THE DAY WHETHER THE FIRST TIME THAT DAY, OR SUBSEQUENT TIME: I ENGAGE THE BRAKE PEDAL AND PUSH THE "START" BUTTON. INSTEAD OF THE ENGINE TURNING OVER, I ONLY GET THE DASH LIGHTS AND RADIO. I TURN THE VEHICLE OFF, WAIT A FEW SECONDS THEN ENGAGE THE BRAKE AND PUSH THE "START" BUTTON AGAIN. THIS GOES ON A FEW TIMES TO SEVERAL TIMES AND SEEMS TO BE VERY RANDOM. WHEN I FIRST BEGAN HAVING THIS ISSUE, I TOOK THE CAR INTO HONDA AND THEY COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT, BECAUSE THEY WEREN'T HAVING THE ISSUE (SO THEY SAID...). THEY SUGGESTED THAT I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE STARTER, BATTERY, AND ALTERNATOR. I PAID A GRIP OF CASH TO FIX THESE ISSUES, AND THE CAR BECAME WORSE. I WILL BE TAKING THE CAR TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC THAT I TRUST AND I WILL SHOW HIM THE COUNTLESS POSTS THAT OTHERS HAVE POSTED ABOUT THIS ISSUE, SO I CAN FEEL CONFIDENT THAT THE ISSUE WILL ACTUALLY BE FIXED. THEN I WILL SELL THIS CAR AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE AND NEVER BUY A HONDA MADE CAR AGAIN.

I HAD THE BATTERY CHECKED AT THE SERVICE STATION NEAR MY HOME AND ALSO AT THE HONDA DEALER IN MY CITY. I PURCHASED A SMALL JUMP PACK TO ENSURE I'M NEVER STRANDED. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES, AFTER ONLY BEING AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE AN HOUR OR 2 AND AFTER I RETURNED FORM A BRIEF STAY OUT OF TOWN.
MY HONDA ACCORD HAS HAD STARTER ISSUES BEGINNING AROUND 36,000 MILES. IT HAS LEFT ME STRANDED AT WORK AND AT THE GAS STATION. IT CONVENIENTLY BEGINS TO GIVE OUT AROUND TIME WARRANTY ENDS. IF IT IS A TYPICAL 100+ DEGREE DAY HERE OR A VERY COLD DAY THE STARTER WILL NOT WORK. I HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY TWICE. I HAVE CONTACTED HONDA ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION AND THEY WILL ONLY GIVES A SMALL REDUCTION IN PRICE TO FIX. THEY REFUSE TO ISSUE A RECALL STATING IT DOESN'T CAUSE RISK OF LIFE OR BODILY INJURY. I BEG TO DIFFER, AS A CAR NOT STARTING IN MIDDLE OF NIGHT WHEN CHANCE OF NO ONE BEING AROUND TO HELP, IT CAN BE LIFE THREATENING. THE CAR HAS EVEN STOPPED WORKING SEVERAL TIMES WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA DURING RUSH HOUR AND BEGINNING TO FAIL WHILE GOING 70 MPH. AFTER EXTENSIVE RESEARCH I FOUND THIS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH OWNERS OF 2012 - 2016 HONDAS (MORE THAN ONE MODEL) AND RANGING BETWEEN 36,000 TO 55,000 MILES.
