TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2015 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE, THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND TOWED TO AN AUTO SHOP. THE DEALER (MCGRATH CITY HONDA IN CHICAGO, IL, 773-889-3030) REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V418000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHEN STARTING CAR INITIALLY IN THE MORNINGS AND DRIVING CAR IN REVERSE WITH ONLY BRAKING AND NOT APPLYING ANY GAS, AFTER THE FIRST 10 FEET IN REVERSE THE ENGINE WILL REV UP BY ITSELF AND THEN STABILIZE, OR ENGINE WILL GULP AIR WITH ENGINE JERKING, OR ENGINE WILL REV UP VERY HIGH WITH THE FINAL LAST SOUND OF CLASHING METAL BETWEEN THE ENGINE/TRANSMISSION AND THE ENGINE DYING ON THE SPOT. THESE PROBLEMS ONLY OCCUR WITH THE INITIAL STARTING OF THE CAR AND ONLY IN REVERSE. THE CAR FUNCTIONS NORMALLY AFTER THE EVENTS DESCRIBED ABOVE. THE CAR IS ALWAYS GARAGED. THE ENGINE BEHAVIOR DESCRIBED IS INTERMITTENT AND UNPREDICATABLE. CLASHING METAL AND STOPPING OF ENGINE LAST OCCURRED JULY 26, 2017.
CONDENSER FIN DEFECTIVE ADVISED THAT THE CONDENSER FIN WAS DAMAGED FROM A ROCK THE SEAT BELT LOCKS UP, THE ALTERNATOR IS CAUSING THE BATTERY NOT TO CHARGE, THE PAINT IS CHIPPING
2015 ACCORD SPORT WITH 26K MILES, HAVE HAD MY TIRED ROTATED TWICE, BOUGHT THE CAR NEW. CUPPING OF THE TIRES MAKE FOR LOTS OF ROAD NOISE AND VIBRATION. CALLED THE TIRE COMPANY---NOT A TIRE ISSUE, IT IS A HONDA ISSUE---NOT SURE HOW THEY WILL FIX IT, BUT NEW TIRES ROTATED BASED ON HONDA'S RECOMMENDATION WILL CONTINUE CUPPING AND RUIN THE NEXT SET. GREAT COMPANY NEEDS TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND STEP UP TO OFFER A FAIR SOLUTION.
THE SEATS ARE EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE IN THE 2015 HONDA CRV. THE DRIVER SIDE IN PARTICULAR IS VERY FIRM AND HITS PRESSURE POINTS IN THE LEGS, NO MATTER HOW THE SEAT IS ADJUSTED. DRIVING THIS VEHICLE FOR MORE THAN 1/2 AN HOUR CAUSED PAIN IN MY SCIATIC NERVE, WITH THE PAIN RADIATING DOWN MY LEG AND UP INTO MY LOW BACK. I COULD NOT GET COMFORTABLE ON A 4 HOUR DRIVE, DESPITE TRYING EVERY CONFIGURATION OF AVAILABLE SEATING ADJUSTMENTS. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE A WEEK AND A HALF AGO AND HAVE 30 DAYS TO RETURN THIS CAR TO CARMAX. I PLAN TO DO SO BECAUSE IT IS SO UNCOMFORTABLE TO DRIVE.
'TAKATA RECALL'-ON JULY 12TH 2017 I WAS INVOLVED IN A VERY BAD COLLISION IN LANCASTER,CALIFORNIA ON 30TH STREET WEST AND AVE K AT AROUND 8:25AM.I WAS TRAVELING SOUTH BOUND ON 30TH AT 50-55MPH WHEN A WOMAN CAME OUT OF NOWHERE AND MADE A LEFT TURN IN FRONT OF ME,I TRIED TO TURN THE CAR TO KEEP FROM T BONING HER WHICH I DID, SO MY CAR HIT THE FRONT END OF HER HUGE 2003 RED LINCOLN MURCURY. MY AIRBAG DID DEPLOY AND LET OFF THIS AWFUL SMELL THAT I STILL REMEMBER TO THIS DAY,I PUT MY RIGHT ARM UP IN FRONT OF MY FACE TO KEEP IT FROM HITTING ME,DUE TO ME DOING THAT MY RIGHT ARM SUSTAINED BRUISING ALL THE WAY TO THE BONE AND MY STERNUM WAS FRACTURED.
MY VEHICLE WAS RECALLED FOR DEFECTIVE IN BATTERY SENSORS?? DEALER MENTIONED IT WAS ON BACK ORDER AND NEVER CONTACTED US AGAIN
CAR HAD ABOUT 9000 MILES ON IT, WOULDN'T START AFTER DRIVING IT FOR 25 MINUTES FROM HOME. AUTOMATIC SHIFT SEEMS TO BE LOCKED. 4TH OF JULY WEEKEND, LONG WAIT FOR TOW TRUCK TO DEALER. NO SERVICE PEOPLE THERE. I WAS GIVEN A SHEET OF PAPER SHOWING A RECALL THAT HAS NOT BEEN DISTRIBUTED YET FOR 2013-2016 ACCORDS. THE CASE FOR THE BATTERY SENSOR MOUNTED AT THE TOP OF THE 12V BATTERY MAY HAVE BEEN IMPROPERLY MANUFACTURED WITH GAPS THAT COULD ALLOW FOR MOISTURE ENTRY, IF MOISTURE CONTAINING ROAD SALT, OR OTHER CONDUCTIVE SUBSTANCE,ENTERS THE BATTERY SENSOR, IT COULD RESULT IN AN ELECTRICAL SHORT AND SUBSEQUENTLY, A FIRE. REFRAIN FROM CALLING TECH LINE FOR UPDATES. THE FACT IS I AM A WOMAN AND I BUY A NEW OR LEASE A NEW CAR EVERY THREE OR SO YEARS SO THAT I WON'T BE LEFT SOMEWHERE STRANDED AND IN DANGER. ANYTIME A WOMAN IS HELPLESS IN A NON WORKING CAR, DANGER IS THE FIRST ISSUE. SORRY, BUT WE DO HAVE TO RECOGNIZE THE WORLD IS DIFFERENT FOR MEN AND WOMEN. WHILE DRIVING ON A RURAL HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH AND SEEING A POSTED REDUCED SPEED LIMIT SIGN OF 45 MPH AHEAD, I STARTED SLOWING THE CAR BY DECREASING PRESSURE THE GAS PEDAL(NEVER REMOVING MY FOOT). AS I REACHED 45 MPH I INCREASED PRESSURE ON THE GAS PEDAL AND FELT THE CAR BRAKING. I REMOVED PRESSURE FROM THE GAS PEDAL AND THE CAR CONTINUED TO COAST. I STEPPED(INCREASED PRESSURE) ON THE GAS PEDAL AGAIN AND I FELT THE CAR BRAKING AGAIN. I REMOVED MY FOOT FROM THE GAS PEDAL AND DOUBLED CHECKED MY FOOT POSITION AND I WAS USING THE GAS PEDAL. I MOVED MY FOOT TO THE BRAKE AND FELT THE BRAKES WERE WORKING. I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO AN OPEN AREA BESIDE THE HIGHWAY AND STOP THE CAR SAFELY. AFTER STOPPING I NOTICE THE ENGINE OIL AND SERVICE LIGHTS ON AND ENGINE WAS OFF BUT POWER WAS ON. I SHUT THE POWER OFF. AFTER A MINUTE I RESTARTED THE CAR AND IT RUNS LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED. OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WAS 95 F.
CAR INTERMITTENLY MSKES A CLUNK/CLICK NOISE UNDER DRIVER SIDE OF VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING AT A LOW SPEED, THE FRONT DRIVER'S AIR BAG INADVERTENTLY DEPLOYED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SMOKE ESCAPED FROM THE AIR BAG. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
I HAVE A HONDA ACCORD COUPE. THE BAR AROUND THE SEAT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE HAS BROKEN FOR THE FOURTH TIME IN JUST OVER TWO YEARS. IT HAS BEEN FIXED THREE TIMES BUT THE DEALER STATED WE WERE ON OUR OWN THE FOURTH TIME. ONE TIME WHEN MY HUSBAND TOOK THE CAR FOR THE DEALER TO LOOK AT FOR REPAIR, THEY FIXED THE CAR AS ANOTHER PERSON DID NOT SHOW WHO HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. IT DOES FINE IF THE SEAT IS NOT MOVED BUT BREAKS WHEN YOU PUT THE SEAT UP AND DOWN OR UP AND BACK. THE CAR WAS NOT MOVING.
I WAS GOING HOME ON 6/9/17 ON A VERY BUSY HIGHWAY 52-N AT APPROX 60 MPH. THE CAR QUIT RUNNING, THE REAR WHEELS LOCK ,AND I AM SLIDING SIDEWAYS. THE CAR JUST DIED. THERE WAS A TANKER TRUCK BEHIND ME, WHO HAD TO LOCK DOWN HIS BRAKES TO AVOID HITTING ME WHILE I HAVE MY DAUGHTER WHO IS UNDER 12 YEARS OF AGE IN THE CAR WITH ME! I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID HAVE IT TOWED TO THEM! ON 6/10/17, I WAS TOLD THAT THE BATTERY WAS DEAD AND THAT THEY WOULD REPLACE IT AND HAVE THE TECH DRIVE CAR HOME AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. ON 6/12/17, I WAS TOLD THAT THEY RESET WARNING SENSOR AND THAT A DIODE WAS BAD. THEY WANTED TECH TO DRIVE CAR AGAIN AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. ON 6/13/17, I WAS TOLD THAT A SENSOR WAS BAD AND THEY WANTED TECH TO DRIVE CAR AGAIN TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS. THE MORNING OF 6/14/17, I TOLD THAT THE HIGH PRESSURE STEERING HOSE NEEDED REPLACING, AND THEY WANTED A TECH TO DRIVE THE CAR AGAIN! THEY ALSO STATED THEY WERE CALLING THE TECH LINE IN CALIFORNIA TO GET FURTHER INFO. THE AFTERNOON OF 6/14/17, I WAS TOLD THAT THE TECH LINE SUGGESTED CHANGING THE FUEL PUMP AND THAT SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WOULD TAKE 2 DAYS TO GET THE PART AND 1.5 - 2 HOURS TO INSTALL. I SAID OKAY THE MORNING OF 6/15/17, THEY CALLED ME AND SAID PART WAS IN AND INSTALLED, BUT THEY WANTED TECH TO DRIVE AGAIN TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS. I SAID OKAY. THE MORNING OF 6/16/17, I WAS CALLED AND TOLD CAR WAS READY FOR PICK UP. I PICKED CAR UP THE AFTERNOON OF 6/16/17 AND DROVE HOME. I IMMEDIATELY NOTICED A TERRIBLE SMELL. IT ALSO ACTED FUNNY BETWEEN 3RD AND 4TH GEAR. I WENT TO REMOVE A BAG FROM TRUNK AND THE TRUNK SMELLS LIKE A DEAD ANIMAL NOW. SAT. AFTERNOON, I AM GOING HOME AND THE CAR DOES THE SAME EXACT THING BUT ONLY WORSE NOW SINCE I HAVE BOTH KIDS IN THE CAR WITH ME! SOMETHING I NOTICED. THE TECH ONLY DROVE IT 8.5 MILES A DAY (60 MILES TOTAL). 6/19 GOT CAR TOWED TO DEALERSHIP AGAIN!
2015 HONDA ACCORD HAS PASSENGER SIDE REAR BRAKE NOISE PROBLEM. LUTE RILEY DEALERSHIP SAID THIS IS DUE TO BRAKE PADS WEAR OUT. HOWEVER, IT IS VERY RARE THAT A NEW CAR WITH LESS TWO AND HALF YEARS OLD AND MILEAGE LESS THAN 35K HAS REAR BRAKE WEAR-OUT. MY PREVIOUS TOYOTA CAMRY NEVER HAD REAR BRAKE PAD OUT FOR MORE THAN 12 YEARS AND > 155K. THE HONDA REAR BRAKE PAD PROBLEM IS DUE TO HONDA'S REAR BRAKE DESIGN/FABRICATION/MATERIAL PROBLEM. THUS HONDA SHOULD TAKE ALL THE RESPONSIBILITY.
WITHIN 5 SECONDS AFTER WE GOT INTO THE CAR AND CLOSED THE DOORS ON THE 2 DOOR COUPE THE BACK GLASS EXPLODED. LUCKY I WAS NOT DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. IT SOUNDED LIKE A BOMB AND GLASS FLEW ALL OVER THE CAR. I HAD NOT EVEN STARTED THE ENGINE. IT WAS IN MY PARKING SPACE BEHIND MY HOME. NO ONE WAS NEAR AND THE WEATHER WAS ABOUT 40 DEGREES AND CLEAR.
BOTH REAR TIRES UNEVENLY CUPPING ON THE INSIDE . CAR HAS LESS THAN 25K MILES. THE REST OF THE OUTSIDE OF THE TIRE SHOWS LITTLE TO NO WEAR ON IT. CAR IS SHAKING AND MAKING LOUD THUMPING SOUNDS AS IT DRIVES. UNSAFE ISSUE , FACTORY DEFECT WITH UNADJUSTABLE CAMBER/TOE SETTINGS. NOT A ROTATION OR ALIGNMENT ISSUE. LOTS OF OTHER CUSTOMERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE.
I RECENTLY BOUGHT THIS CAR IN APRIL AND NOTICED THAT THIS CAR SHAKES WHEN BREAKING FROM A HIGHER SPEED - NORMALLY ON THE HIGHWAY. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT THERE WAS A TBS FOR IT AND NOTHING THAT THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT.
MY 2015 HONDA ACCORD LX KEY STARTED CHIPPING OFF IN THE LOCK CYLINDER AND STOP TURNING AFTER 45,000 MILES ON THE CAR. THE LOCK CYLINDER STOP TURNING WITH MY KEY IN THE CYLINDER. THE HONDA TURNED OFF ON THE INTERSTATE AND I COULD NOT TURN THE STEERING WHEEL WITH THIS OCCURRED. THE LOCK CYLINDER, KEY RE-PROGRAMMED TO MATCH THE NEW LOCK CYLINDER COST MY $660 AND WAS NOT COVERED BY MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. THIS NEEDS TO BE ISSUED AS A RECALL IMMEDIATELY. I ALSO CONFIRMED THAT SEVEN (7) OTHER HONDA OWNERS AT MY JOB WITH KEYS EXPERIENCED THE SAME LOCK CYLINDER PROBLEM ON THE AVERAGE BEFORE 30,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. THEY HAD TO GET THE LOCK CYLINDER REPLACED TOO.
I RECENTLY BOUGHT THIS CAR IN APRIL 2017 AND NOTICED WHENEVER IT RAINS, THE INTERIOR STINKS LIKE MOLD. I CHECKED FOR LEAKS AND THE RUBBER TRIM AROUND THE DOORS AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH THEM. SINCE THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT IS DETECTED BY SMELL, THERE IS NO WAY FOR ME TO PROVE THIS TO A DEALER.
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A FIRE TRUCK. ALL OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED WITH FORCE EXCEPT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED SEVEN FRACTURES IN THE WRISTS, AND ALSO A NECK INJURY. MEDICAL TREATMENT WAS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND A LEGAL SOURCE WERE INVESTIGATING THE CAUSE OF THE CRASH AND THE AIR BAGS. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: (KG0) 17V418000 (AIR BAGS) AND (KH0) 17V418000 (AIR BAGS), BUT THE CONTACT WAS NOT NOTIFIED UNTIL MONTHS AFTER THE CRASH. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS EXTENSIVELY DAMAGED ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. THE CONTACT ALSO EXPERIENCED MORE THAN TWO CRASHES BEFORE THE MOST RECENT CRASH. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED IN THE PREVIOUS CRASHES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
OWNER WAS DRIVING THE 2015 HONDA ACCORD HYBRID ON THE FREEWAY AT SPEED LIMIT (60MPH) AND SUDDENLY THE BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR WAS PUT ON A "FAIL SAFE MODE" OR A DRIVING SPEED OF NO MORE THAN 40MPH. LUCKILY THE OWNER WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO A SAFE AREA, CALLED HONDA FOR ASSISTANCE AND THE CAR WAS TOWED TO A HONDA DEALERSHIP. A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK WAS PERFORMED AND AN UPDATE OF A VEHICLE SOFTWARE WAS MADE BASED ON HONDA SERVICE BULLETIN 15-057. I THINK HONDA SHOULD RECALL ALL HONDA ACCORD HYBRID THAT HAVE THESE ISSUES IMMEDIATELY AND HAVE THE VEHICLE SOFTWARE UPDATED BECAUSE OF POSSIBLE VEHICLE FAILURE AND INJURY TO CAR OCCUPANTS AS BEING ON A FAIL SAFE DRIVING MODE COULD HAPPEN ANYTIME AND COULD PUT THE CAR OCCUPANTS IN A VERY DANGEROUS AND UNSAFE SITUATION..

THE CONTACT HAD TO USE JUMPER CABLES TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HERITAGE HONDA PARKVILLE (9213 HARTFORD RD, PARKVILLE, MD 21234 (410) 882-3000) WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MECHANIC PROVIDED A TEMPORARY REPAIR, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HERITAGE HONDA (725 YORK RD, TOWSON, MD 21204 (410) 823-9000), BUT NO DIAGNOSTIC FAILURE CODES WERE FOUND AND THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE/PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
Starter motor.Will not turn the engine over to start. When the push button start is pushed you get a buzzing sound because the starter is not engageing the flywheel on the torque converter.Sometimes you have to push the start button as many as 5-10 times before the engine will start. I feel this is a safety issue because if you have a medical issue and need to go for help and the vehicle will not start that is a big problem. Honda knows about this issue but will do nothing about it.Honda's tsb 16-002 does not fix this problem. I have replaced 4 starters on this vehicle not including the original starter and still have the same problem.This problem needs to be addressed before there is a serious problem caused by this issue.This has been a problem on this vehicle for approx. 5yrs..
FOUL/MUSTY PUNGENT SMELL COMING FROM THE VENTS WITH AIR ON OR OFF. BROUGHT TO A HONDA DEALER...PERFORMED AC/HEATING EVAPORATOR CLEANING/CHANGED ALSO THE ELEMENT FILTER. THE SMELL HAS COME BACK. I DID GOOGLE THE PROBLEM AND FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINS SIMILAR TO MINE
MY TPMS (TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR SYSTEM) SIGNALS FALSE ALARMS. MOST RECENTLY, 4-5-17, 60 MILES AFTER PROPER RESET OF THE TPMS, THE WARNING LIGHT LIT UP AGAIN. ALL FOUR TIRES PROVED CORRECTLY INFLATED TO 37.5PSI (HOT). FOR FALSE TPMS ALARMS THE MANUAL INSTRUCTS THE OWNER TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR, UNDER WARRANTY. ON 4-7-5 MORGAN HILL HONDA CLAIMED (A) THAT MY COMPLAINT IS COMMON AND (B) THAT THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO FIX. "HONDA IS VERY SORRY." THE INHERENT DANGER OF A SPURIOUS WARNING LIGHT IS OBVIOUS: CONSIDER A STRANGE LIGHT AT 70MPH IN THE DIAMOND LANE AT NIGHT: IF THE DRIVER CANNOT RECOGNIZE THE LIGHT, PANIC MAY ENSUE. LONG STORY SHORT, I TOOK THE 2015 HONDA ACCORD FOR A TEST DRIVE AND IT SEEMED FINE. THE NEXT DAY AFTER DRIVING QUITE A BIT MY LOWER BACK STARTED BURNING. I COULDN'T ADJUST THE SEAT TO MAKE IT COMFORTABLE OR STOP THE BACK PAIN. IT FELT LIKE IT CUT OFF THE CIRCULATION IN MY LEGS AFTER JUST DRIVING 30 MILES. I COULDN'T TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT THEY PAID FOR ME TO GET A SEAT WEDGE FOR MORE CUSHION. THAT JUST PUT ME HIGHER IN THE SEAT AND THE LUMBAR AT MY TAILBONE. HONDA DETERMINED THAT THE BATTERY WAS REALLY LOW AND REPLACED IT. FAST FOWARD JUST A COUPLE OF DAYS AND THE OTHER ONE STARTS TO EXHIBIT THE SAME EXACT PROBLEMS. TAKING IT TO HONDA AGAIN TODAY BUT ASSUME THEY WILL REPLACE THE BATTERY AS WELL. SEEMS ODD THAT THE BATTERY WOULD DIE ON BOTH VEHICLES LESS THAN 2 YEARS AFTER PURCHASE. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER ON OCTOBER 18, 2016 PER LETTER FROM HONDA TO HAVE PRODUCT UPDATE DTC P1890 PERFORMED. THIS WAS AN UPDATE TO THE PCM SOFTWARE FOR CVT TRANSMISSION. EVER SINCE THIS TIME THE MILEAGE HAS DROPPED SIGNIFICANTLY. I WAS GETTING 33MPG AROUND THE CITY. IT HAS DROPPED TO 27MPG. HIGHWAY MILEAGE HAS ALSO DROPPED FROM 37MPG TO 34MPG. CAR FEELS AS THOUGHT IT IS IN TOO LOW OF A GEAR WHEN ACCELERATING - A CHANGE FROM BEFORE THE SOFTWARE UPDATE. TOOK CAR BACK TO TWO DIFFERENT HONDA DEALERS. THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG NOR HAVE THEY HEARD ABOUT SIMILAR PROBLEMS.

ENGINE RUNS FINE AT IDLE BUT KNOCKS EVEN AT A SPEED < 20 MPH. HAD THE CAR TOWED TO NEAREST HONDA DEALERSHIP AND WAITING TO HEAR FROM THEM. IT HAS ABOUT 11K MILES ON IT. CAN SEE A SAFETY RECALL ON 2015 HONDA ACCORD WITH SIMILAR SYMPTOMS.
THE TRUNK LID WILL NOT STAY IN THE OPEN POSITION WHEN PARKED ON AN INCLINE. NO ISSUES WITH LID CLOSING HAVE OCCURRED WHILE PARKED ON LEVEL GROUND. BUT, WHEN PARKED ON A SLOPING DRIVEWAY, TRUNK LID WILL DROP TO THE CLOSED POSITION WITHOUT WARNING HITTING ANYONE ACCESSING ITEMS IN THE TRUNK. TAKATA RECALL. HONDA HAS IDENTIFIED A CURRENT SAFETY PROBLEM WITH MY VEHICLE, YET CANNOT CORRECT THIS FLAW IN A REASONABLE PERIOD OF TIME. IT MAY TAKES MONTHS BEFORE THE REPAIR IS MADE. THEIR CURRENT WRITTEN ADVICE IS TO "...AVOID HAVING A PASSENGER SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SEAT UNTIL THE RECALL REPAIR HAS BEEN PERFORMED." HOW IS A FAMILY OF FOUR EXPECTED TO DO THIS WITH A FAMILY SEDAN SEATING FOUR? WE HAVE NO PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION AVAILABLE IN MY COMMUNITY. SHALL I ALWAYS LEAVE A MEMBER OF MY FAMILY BEHIND THEN? NEVER LEAVE HOME? IF HONDA CANNOT PERFORM THE RECALL REPAIRS IN A REASONABLE PERIOD OF TIME, THEY SHOULD PROVIDE RENTAL VEHICLES FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS. THIS IS REASONABLE GIVEN THE SAFETY CONCERN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 75 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND STOPPED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, RESTARTED, AND DRIVEN HOME. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,927.
ON JULY 9, 2016, WE WERE TRAVELING SOUTH BOUND ON INTERSTATE I-75 RIGHT OUTSIDE OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE. WE HAD ONLY TRAVELED 4 OR 5 MILES WHEN WE HEARD A HORRENDOUS NOISE WHICH CAME FROM UNDERNEATH THE CAR. IT WAS ALL MY HUSBAND COULD TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE CAR UNTIL WE GOT OFF THE INTERSTATE. WHILE HE WAS STEERING IT OFF THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD, I SAW THE REMAINS OF THE MICHELIN PRIMACY MXV4 215/55R215 RIGHT REAR TIRE GO SAILING PAST THE CAR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSTATE. THESE TIRES HAD 12,619 MILES ON THEM WHEN THIS BLOW-OUT OCCURRED. THERE WAS NO DEBRIS ON THE ROAD. THIS TIRE SIMPLY EXPLODED!
WHEN MAKING A LANE CHANGE AT A SPEED OF ~60MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR LOST CONTROL AND JERKED TOWARDS THE LEFT. IT ZIGZAGGED BETWEEN THE LEFT AND MIDDLE LANE AND HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE TWICE. ALTHOUGH DAMAGE TO OUR HONDA ACCORD WAS MAINLY COSMETIC, THE ENGINE WAS DEAD BEFORE/AFTER THE COLLISION. THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED IN NEW BRIGHTON, MN, AND THE LAW ENFORCEMENT CASE # IS 16507355. WE'VE REPORTED THIS ISSUE TO AMERICAN HONDA (CASE NUMBER 04824446) ON JULY 11TH, 2016, BUT DIDN'T RECEIVE PROPER ATTENTION. AFTER A SIMPLE CHECK AND TEST DRIVE, THEY CLAIMED THERE WAS NO ISSUE/DEFECT WITH THE VEHICLE. CONTACTED AMERICAN HONDA SEVERAL TIMES BUT HAVEN'T RECEIVE ANY FOLLOW-UP YET.
