AIR CONDITIONING CONDENSER IS PRONE TO DAMAGE BECAUSE OF LOCATION UNDER VEHICLE. THIS LEADS TO AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR BILL NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. SMALL ROAD DEBRIS FROM FRONT TIRES HIT CONDENSER AND IT HAS SUBSEQUENTLY STOPPED WORKING. *TR
THIS WILL BE THE THIRD TIME I'VE HAD TO HAVE MY SUN-VISOR REPLACED ON MY 2006 HONDA CIVIC. THE VISOR CLIP BREAKS, LEAVING THE VISOR TO HANG DOWN INTO YOUR FACE. THE VISOR WILL NEITHER STAY UP OR ALL THE WAY DOWN. IT POSES A SAFETY HAZARD DURING BOTH DAY TIME AND NIGHT TIME DRIVING. THE FIRST TIME THE PART WAS REPLACED WHEN I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE AT 9 MONTHS OLD; THE SECOND TIME IT WAS REPLACED WAS A YEAR AND A HALF AGO. YESTERDAY I WENT TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND TO HAVE THEM FIX THE BROKEN VISOR AND THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME 75$ FOR THE PART + LABOR + TAXES. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD; ALSO THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM I CAUSED BY ROUGH-WEAR--IT JUST FALLS APART! *TR
2006 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID, BATTERY SOFTWARE UPDATE. I TOOK CAR TO DEALER FOR THIS UPDATE AND IT WAS INSTALLED. AFTER THE UPDATE I'VE SEEN AN ERRATIC CHANGE IN THE BATTERY ASSIST AND THIS IS A DRIVING SAFETY HAZARD. THE BATTERY ASSIST DISAPPEARS AND THERE IS NO ACCELERATION. I'VE TAKEN THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER TWICE AFTER THE SOFTWARE UPDATE AND THEY INSIST THEIR COMPUTER SAYS ALL IS OK. THIS VEHICLE WAS SOLD AS A HYBRID AND THERE WAS A INCOME TAX CREDIT BUT THIS SOFTWARE UPDATE JUST ABOUT MAKES IT A NON HYBRID IN ADDITION TO THE SAFETY HAZARD BY LOSING THE BATTERY ASSIST THEREBY LOSING ACCELERATION. FOR INSTANCE WAITING FOR A BREAK IN TRAFFIC TO MAKE A LEFT TURN, IF WHAT THEY CALL THE IMA BATTERY ASSIST IS NOT WORKING THEN YOU DON'T GET THE ACCELERATION YOU EXPECT AND LEAVE YOU VULNERABLE TO BEING IN AN ACCIDENT WHILE MAKING THE TURN. *TR
THE SUN VISORS IN MY 2006 HONDA CIVIC ARE DEFECTIVE. I HAVE HAD THE VISORS REPLACED ONCE ALREADY AND JUST ONE YEAR LATER, THE SUN VISOR CRACKED OPEN FROM HEAT EXPOSURE AGAIN. THE SUN VISORS ARE OBSTRUCTING BOTH THE DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S VIEW AND POSE A SAFETY HAZARD. I HAD TO APPLY FORCE TO KEEP THE VISORS CLOSED AND WHEN THERE IS TOO MUCH SUN LIGHT, THE VISORS ARE USELESS IN BLOCKING THE SUN. HONDA NEEDS TO RECALL THIS PART AND REPLACE THEM WITH A PART THAT IS NOT DEFECTIVE.
THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR SPLIT. IT WILL NOT STAY IN POSITION. DUE TO THIS, I HAVE NO VISUAL PROTECTION FROM THE SUN WHEN I DRIVE. IT IS HAZARDOUS.
THE DASH AIRBAG INOP RED LIGHT WENT ON AND OFF THEN IT JUST REMAINED ON. ON OCCASION IT WOULD GO ON AND OFF. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE LEFT CURTAIN AIRBAG SENSOR WAS DEFECTIVE. I HAVE THE EXTENDED MECHANICAL INSURANCE AND FILED A CLAIM. I RETURNED TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS AND IT WAS A LOOSE WIRE AND SOME KIND OF CLIP INSTALLED TO FIX PROBLEM ON 9-16-10. *TR
I HAVE A 2006 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID THAT I PURCHASED NEW IN CALIFORNIA IN JULY, 2006. I'M HAVING A SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS PROBLEM WITH THE HYBRID SYSTEM (IMA AS HONDA CALLS IT), BUT HONDA KEEPS TELLING ME ITS NORMAL BECAUSE THERE HAS NOT BEEN A FAULT CODE. THE PROBLEM IS THAT LAST YEAR I STARTED TO NOTICE THE HYBRID BATTERY WAS HAVING INCREASING TROUBLE HOLDING A CHARGE AND ACCURATELY REPORTING IT'S CHARGE CONDITION. THE MOST COMMON SYMPTOM IS THAT I'LL START DRIVING WITH THE CHARGE BEING REPORTED AT 70% FULL OR SO, AND WITHOUT WARNING, THE CHARGE DROPS TO 0 AND THE CAR BEGINS TO AGGRESSIVELY RECHARGE THE BATTERY. THIS AGGRESSIVE RECHARGING TAKES ABOUT 5-10 MINUTES AFTER WHICH IS REPORTS IT IS FULL. BUT HERE'S WHERE THE DANGER LIES, IN THE FIRST COUPLE OF MINUTES, THERE IS NO ASSIST AVAILABLE FROM THE HYBRID BATTERY. WHEN STARTING FROM A STOPPED POSITION, THE CAR IS EXTREMELY SLUGGISH AND SLOW. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL CASES WHERE I HAVE BEEN PULLING ACROSS AN INTERSECTION WITH CROSS TRAFFIC THAT DOESN'T STOP AND THE CAR, WITHOUT WARNING, HAD SLIPPED INTO THIS RECHARGE STATE AND NEARLY RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT - THE ONCOMING CARS HAD TO BRAKE AS I MOVED SLOWLY ACROSS THE INTERSECTION. MY HONDA DEALER AND HONDA OF AMERICA WILL NOT LOOK INTO THE PROBLEM UNLESS THERE IS A FAULT CODE. I KNOW THAT OTHERS HAVE HAD ALMOST THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR CIVICS. SOME OF THEM HAVE BEEN LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE HONDA REPLACE THEM HYBRID BATTERY AND THEIR PROBLEMS HAVE GONE AWAY. I AM INCREDIBLE UPSET THAT I HAVE TO PUT MYSELF AND MY FAMILY AT RISK EACH TIME I DRIVE THIS CAR - IT IS A DAILY PROBLEM. PLEASE INVESTIGATE. I HOPE YOU OBSERVE WHAT I'VE HEARD FROM FELLOW OWNERS WHICH IS THAT THERE IS A WIDE-SPREAD PROBLEM THAT HONDA IS TRYING TO IGNORE BECAUSE THE SOLUTION IS VERY EXPENSIVE. *TR
I OWN A 2006 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID. APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS AGO I HAD A SOFTWARE UPDATE ON THE IMA SYSTEM AND SINCE THAT TIME THE ACCELERATION OF MY CAR HAS DRAMATICALLY (AND PERHAPS DANGEROUSLY) DECREASED. HONDA CLAIMS IT WAS DONE IN ORDER TO PRESERVE THE LIFE OF THE BATTERY HOWEVER AT NO TIME DID THEY SAY IT WOULD ADVERSELY AFFECT THE PERFORMANCE OF THE CAR. THE GAS MILEAGE HAS ALSO SUFFERED BADLY. PRIOR TO THE SOFTWARE UPDATE THE CAR WAS RUNNING FINE AND I WAS GETTING EXCELLENT MILEAGE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE DRIVE APPROXIMATELY 45-50 MPH WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER ACTIVATED, THE BLOWER WOULD ONLY BLOW HOT AIR. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO HESITATE AS IF IT WERE ATTEMPTING TO STALL BUT DID NOT. THE VEHICLE WAS EXAMINED BY HER PERSONAL MECHANIC WHO ADVISED THAT THE ENGINE WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER DRIVABLE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 64,000.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA CIVIC EX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED THE FRONT STRUTS HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THEY WERE LEAKING. THE MECHANIC WHO PERFORMED THE STATE INSPECTION DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY HAVE NO PROBLEMS WITH THE STRUTS AND THAT THE VEHICLE WAS BEYOND WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 23000.
2006 HONDA CIVIC DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR IS FALLEN OFF COMPLETELY. THE PLASTIC CASING HOLDING THE VISOR TOGETHER SPLIT AT THE SEAM. MILEAGE WAS APPROX. 30,050. *TR
THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR IN MY 2006 HONDA CIVIC IS AGAIN BREAKING. IT WONT STAY UP AND IS SPLITTING DOWN THE MIDDLE. I HAD BOTH VISORS REPLACED BY HONDA ABOUT A YEAR AGO FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
THIS IS A 2006 HONDA CIVIC .PLASTIC SHROUDING AROUND MOUNTING SECTION OF SUN VISOR IS UNNECESSARILY CHEAP AND WILL NOT WITHSTAND INTERIOR SUMMER TEMPERATURES. EVENTUALLY, THE VISOR WARPS AND WILL NOT REMAIN IN AN UPRIGHT POSITION. THE VISOR OBSTRUCTS THE DRIVER'S VISION AND IS A POTENTIALLY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE! *TR
ENGINE LIGHT CONSISTENTLY STAYS ON DEALER TOLD ME 1ST TIME IT NEEDED A COMPUTER SOFTWARE UP DATE 2ND TIME IT OVERHEATED DEALER TOLD ME IT NEEDED NEW THERMOSTAT. BOTH TIMES I HAD TO PAY FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST PLUS PARTS & LABOR. THE SAME DAY I PICKED IT UP THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND STAYED. AFTER READING ALL THE COMPLAINTS ON THIS YEAR AND MODEL MY VEHICLE HAS THE SAME ISSUES (ENGINE & REAR SUSPENSION) BUT HONDA ALWAYS HAS AN ANSWER THAT NEVER FIXES THE PROBLEM. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF AN UNKNOWN MANUFACTURERS RECALL PERTAINING TO AN ENGINE SOFTWARE UPGRADE. THE RECALL REPAIR WAS PERFORMED BY AN AUTHORIZED DEALER HOWEVER FOLLOWING REPAIRS, THE HYBRID BATTERY BECAME NON-FUNCTIONAL AND WOULD NOT HOLD A CHARGE. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO EXHIBIT POOR GAS MILEAGE AND THE VEHICLE WOULD SLUGGISHLY ACCELERATE. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THAT THEY WERE IN THE PROCESS OF DESIGNING AN ADDITIONAL SOFTWARE UPGRADE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 82,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS 2006 HONDA CIVIC EX. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO OVERHEAT. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A REPAIR SHOP WHERE SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE BLOCK HAD CRACKED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT SPOKEN WITH THE MANUFACTURER OR THE DEALER AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 118,000.
SUN VISORS ON DRIVER'S SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE SPLIT OPEN NEAR THE PIVOT POINT AND DO NOT STAY UP. COST TO REPLACE AT HONDA DEALER IS $78 EACH PLUS $17 EACH TO INSTALL. PROBLEM BEGAN WHEN I STARTED USING A SUN SHIELD PURCHASED FROM THE HONDA DEALER AND USED THE SUN VISORS TO HOLD IT IN POSITION. THE HEAT SOFTENS THE PLASTIC, AND THE VISORS SPLIT APART WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO ROTATE THEM BACK TOWARD THE ROOF. *TR
I HAVE A 2006 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID. THE PROBLEM IS INFREQUENT BUT POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR LOSSES ALL POWER. THE ENGINE CONTINUES RUNNING BUT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL HAS NO EFFECT. THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES CONTINUE WORKING BUT THERE IS NO POWER. IT LASTS SECONDS. I HAVE ALWAYS STOPPED THE CAR BY BRAKING AND THEN STARTED IT UP. IT TAKES ABOUT 30 SECONDS BEFORE THE POWER RETURNS. IT HAS NEVER HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS WITH TRAFFIC AROUND. A FEW DAYS AGO WHILE DRIVING UP A 7 MILE DIRT ROAD GOING ABOUT 15 TO 25 MPH IT HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES. IT WAS NEAR THE END OF THE ROAD. THE BATTERY INDICATOR ON THE HYBRID SHOWED IT TO BE ABOUT 60% CHARGED. NO ENGINE CHECK LIGHT WENT ON. HONDA HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THEY HAVE TRIED. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE COMPUTER SYSTEM SINCE THERE ARE IDIOSYNCRASIES WITH THE SYSTEM. FOR EXAMPLE, THE BATTERY CHARGE LIGHT CAN SUDDENLY SHOWED THE BATTERY NEARLY UNCHARGED AND THEN SUDDENLY SHOW IT NORMALLY CHARGED. THIS SHOULD TAKE TIME SINCE THE BATTERY SHOULD CHARGE OVER TIME. THE STALLING HAS HAPPENED DURING THE TIMES WHERE THE BATTERY CHARGE LIGHT SHOWS A SUDDEN CHANGE ESPECIALLY WHEN I WAS RUNNING THE AIR CONDITIONING. HOWEVER, WITH THE 3 MOST RECENT EPISODES NO AIR CONDITIONING WAS ON AND THE BATTERY CHARGE LIGHT SHOWED A NORMAL CHARGE. ALSO THE INDICATOR THAT SHOWS THE MPG I AM GETTING AT THAT MOMENT CAN GO TO ZERO WHEN COSTING DOWN A HILL. I SHOULD BE REGISTERING A MAXIMUM MPG READING IN THAT SETTING. *TR
THE DRIVERS, AND PASSENGERS SIDE SUN VISORS ARE DEFECTIVE , THEY FLOP DOWN AND DON'T STAY IN PLACE , THEY WENT BAD AFTER THE FIRST YEAR I HAD THE CAR , AND SINCE I DON'T USE THEM , I DIDN'T BOTHER COMPLAINING SINCE THEY STAYED IN PLACE AND DIDN'T POSE A HAZARD , BUT NOW THE PASSENGER SIDE VISOR JUST FELL OFF WHEN I USED IT THE OTHER DAY , AND THE DRIVERS SIDE IS JUST AS BAD .... THEY WERE ALWAYS HARD TO USE SO I DIDN'T USE THEM ... *TR
MY '06 HONDA CIVIC'S SUN VISORS SPLIT OPEN AFTER A HOT DAY THIS SUMMER. THEY DO NOT STAY UP AND KEEP HANGING IN FRONT OF MY FACE WHILE I DRIVE POSING A SAFETY HAZARD. I FOUND THAT THERE ARE COMPLAINTS FROM HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE, CLAIMING THAT IT IS A DESIGN FLAW WHEN SUBJECTED TO CAR'S INTERIOR HEAT. THIS IS A CRITICAL VISIBILITY ISSUE AND MAY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT, INJURY AND POSSIBLY LOST OF LIFE. *TR
HONDA 2006 CIVIC LX SUN VISORS SPLIT OPEN WITH HEAT. *TR
SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST THE ACCELERATION IN MY 2006 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID HAS FAILED TO PROVIDE THE EXTRA BURST OF SPEED WHEN NEEDED, MAKING ME UNCOMFORTABLE IN TRAFFIC. WHEN THIS SITUATION HAPPENS AS I AM LEAVING MY SUBDIVISION I FEEL HELPLESS IN A SITUATION OF WHICH I HAVE LITTLE CONTROL. WHEN I NEED TO MAKE TURN FROM MY SUBDIVISION FROM A STOP, I NEED TO RAPIDLY ACCELERATE TO 45 MPH UPHILL. MUCH OF THE TIME THERE IS TRAFFIC APPROACHING FROM THE LEFT WHICH I AM UNABLE SEE TO UNTIL THEY ARE ON THE CREST OF THAT HILL, APPROX. 150' AWAY. AS YOU CAN SEE, I DEPEND ON THE HYBRID SYSTEM WORKING PROPERLY FOR THAT EXTRA BURST OF SPEED. WHEN THIS HAPPENS I NOTICE THE IMA BATTERY CHARGE INDICATOR SHOWING THE BATTERY IS IN A DEPLETED STATE. I DO NOT KNOW WHY THIS OCCURS SO RAPIDLY WHEN 99% OF THE TIME IT IS JUST FINE. I WAS RELIEVED THAT HONDA MOTOR CO. WAS PROACTIVE IN NOTIFYING ME OF A SOFTWARE PATCH TO ENHANCE THE PERFORMANCE OF THE IMA SYSTEM OF WHICH I HAD IMMEDIATELY INSTALLED. WHAT MY WIFE AND I HAVE NOTICED SINCE THE SOFTWARE PATCH WAS INSTALLED IS THE ENGINE REVS UP HIGHER DURING ACCELERATION THEN THERE IS A MOMENTARY HESITATION BEFORE THE IMA SYSTEM ASSISTED THE ENGINE TO GET UP TO SPEED. ALSO SINCE THE PATCH WAS INSTALLED, THE IMA BATTERY LEVEL INDICATOR IS AT OR NEAR FULL CHARGE. I HAVE NOTICED AN APPARENT DECREASE IN FUEL EFFICIENCY, BUT I AM STILL COMPILING DATA TO MAKE AN EXACT DETERMINATION OF THE EXTENT OF THAT PROBLEM. *TR
DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR SPLIT OPEN AND DANGLES IN FRONT OF DRIVER, BLOCKING VIEW OF TRAFFIC, SIGNS, AND SIGNALS. WHILE LOOKING FOR REPLACEMENT PART ON-LINE I FOUND THAT HUNDREDS, IF NOT THOUSANDS, OF OTHER CIVIC OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE AND THAT HONDA HAS NOT EVEN REENGINEERED THE PART. HONDA APPARENTLY KEEPS SELLING THE SAME DEFECTIVE PART TO OWNERS OF 2006-2008 HONDA CIVICS REPEATEDLY. AT THE VERY LEAST HONDA SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO REENGINEER THIS PART TO ELIMINATE THE DEFECT IN THE REPLACEMENT PARTS. *TR
THE SUN VISOR IN MY 2006 HONDA CIVIC LX HAS BROKEN TWICE NOW, WHERE THE VISOR WILL HANG DOWN IN MY LINE OF SIGHT. I AM UNABLE TO SECURE IT UP OR DOWN. BOTH INCIDENTS OCCURRED IN THE WARM WEATHER MONTHS WHEN THE CAR IS VERY HOT. FIRST INCIDENT OCCURRED WITHIN THE WARRANTY, ~20K MILES AND FIXED BY THE DEALER. SECOND INCIDENT BEGAN AROUND 70K MILES AND WORSENED UNTIL THE VISOR HAS COMPLETELY BROKEN. I HAVE NOT FIXED THE VISOR THIS TIME, AND FEEL THAT IT IS RIDICULOUS TO PAY A DEALER TO FIX A PART WHICH IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA CIVIC MANUAL TRANSMISSION. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HIS PLACE OF RESIDENCE. THE CONTACTS INDEPENDENT MECHANIC ADVISED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY THE CLUTCH. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT REPAIRS TO THE CLUTCH WOULD BE AT THE CONTACTS EXPENSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 69,200.
WITH OUT ANY WARNING MY 2006 HONDA CIVIC OVERHEATED I LET IT COOL DOWN ADDED THE 1 GALLON IT WAS DOWN ON COOLANT AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP {HONDA OF THE DESERET IN PALM SPRINGS CA (I LIVE IN PHOENIXL,AZ) I WAS TOLD IT WASN'T I HOSE BUT A PIN HOLE SIZE CRACK IN MY CYLINDER BLOCK THAT IT WAS A MANUFACTURE CASTING DEFECT AND THAT IT WOULD BE $ 4500 TO REPLACE THE ENGINE AS I LOOKED INTO THIS ONLINE I FOUND HUNDREDS OF THE SAME COMPLAINTS HONDA IS WELL AWARE OF THE FLAW YET NO RECALL BUT THEY DID AGREE TO PAY FOR 90% OF THE REPAIR STILL WHY SHOULD I PAY $450 +TAX $225 FOR A RENTAL AND AN 8HR DRIVE BACK AND FORTH TO PALM SPRINGS PLEASE HELP US OWNERS OF 2006 HONDA CIVICS. *TR
2006 HONDA CIVIC EX THE SRS LIGHT STAYS ON WHICH DISARMS AIR BAG SYSTEM ON CAR. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER , THEY STATED THE OPDS UNIT WAS FAULTY. I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM A CERTIFIED HONDA DEALER TWO AND A HALF YEARS PRIOR THE ONLY PROOF OF ANY RECALL DONE WAS A REAR WHEEL BEARING DONE BEFORE MY PURCHASED IS SHOWN ON RECORDS. THE POINT IS THAT THE SRS SYSTEM HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AS A FREQUENT PROBLEM WITH MY VEHICLE , AMERICAN HONDA REFUSED TO FIX ON THEIR DIME BECAUSE WARRANTY EXPIRATION BUT THE AIR BAG SYSTEM AND COMPONENTS IN THAT CAR HAS A TRACK OF NOT WORKING PROPERLY. AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT HE NEEDED TO HAVE A CROSS BAR REPLACED ON THE REAR SUSPENSION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000. THERE IS TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THE LOWER CONTROL ARM, DATED FEBRUARY, 2008 THAT EXACTLY DESCRIBES THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE HAD THREE SETS OF NEW TIRES SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED. FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS A TIRE PROBLEM AND I KEPT CHANGING THE TIRES, ONLY TO DISCOVER AFTER THE CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY, THAT IT WAS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. I CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, AND I SPOKE TO CRYSTAL FROM AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR WHO REFUSED TO OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE, STATING THAT IT WAS MY FAULT THAT " I DID NOT GIVE THEM THE OPPORTUNITY TO FIX THE CAR" . 2006 HONDA CIVIC. THE SUN VISOR FAILS. I BOUGHT MY CAR NEW AND AFTER 2 YEARS IN 2008 THE SUN VISOR FAILED. THE SUN VISOR WOULD FALL DOWN WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND BLOCK MY VIEW. THE CAR HAS BECOME VERY DANGEROUS DUE TO THE INABILITY TO RELY ON IT RESPONDING APPROPRIATELY WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS PRESSED, SUDDEN LOSSES OF POWER, DYING BATTERY, AND MORE. *TR
I OWN A 2006 HONDA CIVIC EX WHICH I PURCHASED NEW IN 2006. SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR, I HAVE EXPERIENCED FAILURE OF THREE DRIVER AND THREE PASSENGER SUN VISORS. OVER TIME, THE GLUE WHICH HOLDS THE VISORS TOGETHER IS LOSING ITS ADHESION ALLOWING THE VISOR TO COME APART. AS A RESULT, THE VISOR IS FALLING DOWN INTO THE DRIVERS FIELD OF VIEW UNEXPECTEDLY WHICH CAN CAUSE A FATAL CRASH. I HAVE THREE FRIENDS WHO HAVE NEWER VERSIONS OF THE SAME VEHICLE AND THEY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. THEIR NAMES ARE GARRY BURKETT, KEN CRAMPTON AND JOHN MINNICK. IN DISCUSSING THE PROBLEM WITH THE HONDA DEALERSHIP, WALSH HONDA IN MACON GA, THEY STATED THAT HONDA KNOWS THAT THEY HAVE A PROBLEM DUE TO THE SHEAR NUMBER OF VISORS BEING REPLACED BUT IS DOING NOTHING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. OUR FAMILY HAS OTHER HONDA VEHICLES, A 1999 ACURA TL AND A 2003 HONDA CIVIC NEITHER OF WHICH HAS EVER HAD A VISOR REPLACED. I HAVE REPORTED THIS PROBLEM ONCE BEFORE TOT HIS OFFICE. ON JUNE 29, 2010, SRS LIGHT ON 2006 HONDA CIVIC WAS ILLUMINATED, INDICATING PROBLEM WITH AIRBAG. HONDA ADVISED THAT AIRBAG DETONATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AIRBAG HAD NEVER DEPLOYED, CAR HAD NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. HONDA ORIGINALLY REFUSED TO COVER COST OF REPAIR AND THEN MADE "GOODWILL" ADJUSTMENT TO COVER 38% OF COST. THE IDENTICAL PART FAILED ON AIRBAG ON OTHER SIDE OF CAR 2 WEEKS LATER. *TR
