I PURCHASED A NEW 2006 HONDA CIVIC LX ON 3/18/06. ON 8/31/06 AFTER 15,658 HIGHWAY MILES, THE DRIVER'S SIDE INNER FRONT BRAKE PAD WORE OUT AND RUINED THE ROTOR. I REPLACED THE ROTOR, PAD, AND CALIPER WITH ORIGINAL HONDA PARTS. MY DAUGHTER HAS COMPLAINED THAT THIS CAR'S BRAKING IS "UNSTABLE". NOW AT 34,000 MILES THE FRONT INNER PADS ARE WORN TO METAL AGAIN. THE OUTER PADS AND REAR SHOES ARE STILL VERY SERVICEABLE. I CALLED THE DEALER AND HONDA AND THEY BOTH FAIL TO ADMIT A PROBLEM OR OFFER A SOLUTION. I THINK THIS CAR'S BRAKES HAVE A DESIGN FLAW THAT CAUSES THE FRONT INNER PADS TO WEAR OUT PREMATURELY. AND I THINK THIS FLAW ALSO CAUSES UNSTABLE BRAKING. I HAVE THE CAR AND THE OLD PARTS FOR INSPECTION. *TR
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE HORN WAS NOT BLOWING CORRECTLY. THE HORN MADE A BUZZING NOISE WHEN DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE VIBRATED. THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED.
I WAS DRIVING MY BRAND NEW 2006 HONDA CIVIC EX WITH LESS THAN 10,000 MILES ON IT WHEN THE CAR ALL OF A SUDDEN DIES. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND THE CAR JUST STOPS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WITH NO WARNING. I TRIED TO START THE CAR BUT IT JUST WOULD NOT START. IF I WAS ON THE FREEWAY OR GOING INTO A TURN I BELIEVE THAT I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR I COULD HAVE INJURED SOMEONE ELSE. TOOK THE CAR TO THE SAN FRANCISCO DEALERSHIP (GREAT DEALERSHIP) AND THEY SAID THAT THE BOLT TENSIONER BROKE, "HOW IS IT POSSIBLE TO BREAK A BOLT, IT WAS VERY THICK?". THEY REPLACED THE BOLT AND WATER PUMPTHE ,CAR RUNS FINE, BUT I STILL WORY THAT THAT THIS CAN HAPPEN AGAIN AT ANY TIME. *NM
THE A/C CONDENSER ON MY 2006 HONDA CIVIC WAS DAMAGED BY A SMALL PEBBLE. THE REPAIR BILL IS $500. I BELIEVE THIS IS A DESIGN ISSUE WITH HONDA. *JB
THREE TIMES WHILE I HAVE BEEN DRIVING MY CAR MY AUTO TENSIONER HAS BROKEN DUE TO A POOR DESIGN BY HONDA. THEY ONLY COVER FIXING IT UNDER WARRENTY. WHEN IT HAPPENS I LOSE ALL FUNCTIONING OF MY BELT INCLUDING POWER STEERING, ALTERNATER, AND WATER PUMP. LUCKILY IN EACH INSTANCE I WAS NOT DOING A TURN OR HAD A STEEP TURNING COMMING UP BUT I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO IF THERE WAS ONE AND IT WOULD RESULT IN A CRASH OR THE CAR OVERTURNING POSSIBLY. THERE WAS NO WARNING AND EACH OF THE 3 TIMES IT HAPPENED SUDDENLY WHERE I HEAR A SOUND AND MY BATTERY LIGHT TURNS ON. I TOOK IT TO MIDAS TO REPAIR IT AND IN EACH CASE IT HAPPENED AGAIN IN A WEEK OR LESS. HONDA KNEW ABOUT THE ISSUE BUT DID NOT EVEN WARN ME OR WARN MIDAS ABOUT THE PART NEEDING TO BE REPLACED UNTIL THE 3RD INCIDENT. *TR
THE 2006 HONDA CIVIC SUN VISORS FOR THE FRONT WINDOW ON BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES FALL APART IN THE SUMMER HEAT. *JB
AT ABOUT 11,000 MILES WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS 6 MONTHS OLD, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON FOR NO APPARENT REASON. FROM THAT POINT FORWARD, THE PROBLEMS BEGAN TO ESCALATE. THE VEHICLE ENGINE BEGAN TO REDUCE THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE FROM 75 TO 50, 50 TO 35 AND ON ANOTHER OCCASION, 45 TO 25 WHILE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC ON THE INTERSTATE. ON ALL OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN ON THE INTERSTATE AT HIGH SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE IS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED ON 2/2006 FINALLY CONCEDED THAT THEY COULD NOT FIX THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS REFERRED TO AMERICAN HONDA CORPORATION FOR MEDIATION AND A BUY BACK PRICE. AT THIS POINT IN TIME, THE VEHICLE MEETS ALL TEST REQUIREMENTS FOR THE NORTH CAROLINA LEMON LAW. AMERICAN HONDA WANTS TO TRADE IN THE VEHICLE AND REPLACE THE ENGINE, THEN RESELL.. HONDA CIVIC SEDAN WITH NAVIGATION. THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE DESTROYED AND NOT RESOLD ON THE MARKETPLACE. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IDLING IN PARK, THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR WAS PULLED CLOSED FROM THE INSIDE AND PUSHED CLOSED FROM THE OUTSIDE AT THE SAME TIME. THE SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAG DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING. THE SERVICE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED. UPDATED 11/02/06. *JB
THE SUN VISORS IN MY 2006 HONDA CIVIC IS MADE OF PLASTIC, AND THE PLASTIC SOFTENS/MELTS TO THE POINT WHERE THE SUN VISORS CANNOT BE PLACED BACK INTO THEIR ORIGINAL POSITION NOR DO THEY STAY PUT IN THE DOWN POSITION. THIS BLOCKS A PORTION OF THE NORMAL VIEW OF THE ROAD AND CAN BE A HAZARD. IT IS A TERRIBLE DESIGN THAT HONDA NEEDS TO FIX. I ORIGINALLY HAD HONDA REPLACE IT AS PART OF THE WARRANTY BUT HAVE NOT GOTTEN IT REPLACED AFTER THE WARRANTY RAN OUT SINCE IT WILL CONTINUE TO FAIL AT LEAST ANNUALLY. IT'S SAD TO SEE THAT IT IS 4 YEARS LATER, AND THEY STILL HAVE NOT FIGURED OUT NOT TO PUT THOSE INTO THAT CAR. IF I BUY ANOTHER CAR FROM HONDA AND IT HAS A PLASTIC SUN VISOR, I WILL NOT BUY IT. IT IS A DEAL BREAKER B/C IT IS SUCH A NUISANCE AND IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF A COMPANY NOT LEARNING AND IMPLEMENTING THEIR OWN LESSONS LEARNED. *TR
I BOUGHT MY 2006 HONDA CIVIC LX IN NOVEMBER 2005. IN AUGUST 2008 THE WEAR SENSOR ON THE FRONT BRAKES WERE SQUEALING AND I HAD TO HAVE THE BRAKE PADS REPLACED AND THE ROTORS MACHINED AT 8976 MILES. I WAS TOLD THAT BECAUSE I LIVE IN A GEOGRAPHICALLY HILLY AREA THAT MY BRAKES WOULD WEAR SOONER THAN OTHER AREAS. I FIND THIS UNUSUAL, OTHER CARS THAT I HAVE DRIVEN IN THE SAME AREA DID NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM. SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD THE FRONT PADS REPLACED AND THE ROTORS MACHINED ON 8/13/07 AT 19,093 MILES, ON 6/2/08 AT 27,878 MILES AND ON 12/8/08 AT 33,831 MILES THE PADS HAD TO BE REPLACED AGAIN AND I NEEDED NEW ROTORS. I WENT TO A DIFFERENT MECHANIC THIS TIME AND THEY PUT ON DIFFERENT PADS WHICH ARE STILL DOING FINE. I WROTE TO HONDA AND SPOKE TO A MANAGER THERE AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS A WEAR ISSUE AND THERE WOULD BE NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT. I ALSO FEEL THAT HONDA IS NOT STANDING BY THE QUALITY THEY USED TO. MY SISTER HAS A 2001 HONDA CIVIC AND HAD HER BRAKE PADS CHANGED FOR THE 1ST TIME IN 2008. *TR
2006 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID DROPS BATTERY CHARGE AND ASSIST SUDDENLY, THEN SLOWLY RECHARGES, WITH NO WARNING, LEAVING CAR WITH LESS POWER AND ACCELERATION THAN EXPECTED. BECOMES A SAFETY HAZARD ON FREEWAY ONRAMPS, PASSING OR ANY TIME YOU NEED TO MOVE FAST TO AVOID SOMETHING. CAR NEEDS TO BE REVVED TO 5K TO GET OVER 35MPH, AFTER THAT GAS ENGINE ITSELF STARTS TO PICK UP SPEED. MILEAGE HAS DROPPED FROM 45+ TO MIDDLE 30'S SINCE IT STARTED HAPPENING 2 YEARS AGO. HAPPENING AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK, SOME TIMES TWICE A DAY. TOOK TO HONDA DEALER AND THEY FORCED ME TO CHANGE THE 12V BATTERY PACK AT MY COST, WHICH MADE NO DIFFERENCE. I HAPPENS MORE IN SUMMER. I CANNOT REPRODUCE IT AT WILL NO ERROR CODES ARE STORED AND NO PROBLEM LIGHTS ARE TURNED ON, SO HONDA SAYS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. OR MAKING A LEFT TURN WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC, CAR MAY MOVE SLOWLY FROM THE STAND STILL INSTEAD OF PRODUCING THE SHARP ACCELERATION EXPECTED TO GET OUT OF HARMS WAY FAST. OR WHEN PASSING ON THE FREEWAY. ON HIGHWAYS I JUST DON'T TRUST THE CAR ENOUGH TO DO IT, AS I MAY NOT GET FROM IT WHAT IS NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE MANEUVER BEFORE I GET ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I'M AFRAID EVERY TIME I NEED TO DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT. RECALIBRATING HAPPEN AT LEAST A COUPLE OF TIMES A WEEK, SOME TIMES TWICE A DAY. *TR
I TOOK DELIVERY OF A 2006 HONDA CIVIC SI ON 1 JAN, 2006. I PURCHASED THE CAR WITH THE OPTIONAL 18" HFP ALLOYS. AT AROUND 10K MI, I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR ITS SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE. MY SERVICING DEALER AT THAT TIME ROTATED THE TIRES ALONG WITH THE REGULAR SCHEDULED MAINT. WHEN I PICKED UP THE CAR I NOTICED A VERY LOUD HUMMING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE CAR. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THEM CHECK WHAT THE PROBLEM MIGHT BE. THE HONDA TECH TOLD ME THAT THE TIRES( ORIGINALLY ON THE FRONT, NOW ON THE REAR) WERE CUPPED AND ALSO SAID THAT I SHOULD TAKE THE CAR BACK TO THE PURCHASING DEALER FOR WHAT HE SAID WAS "MISALIGNED REAR SUSPENSION". BEFORE LEAVING THE DEALER, I HAD THE HONDA TECH PUT THE TIRES BACK THE WAY THEY WERE TO GET RID OF THE HUMMING SOUND. I THEN TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE PURCHASING DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT THERE WAS NOT MUCH THEY COULD DO AND PUT 2 NEW REAR TIRES ON THE CAR AND SENT ME ON MY WAY. NOW I HAD A CAR WITH 10K MILES ON THE FRONT AND 0 MILES ON THE REAR. FAST FORWARD A COUPLE THOUSAND MILES AND THERE I WAS NEEDING NEW TIRES FOR THE FRONT BECAUSE I WAS NEVER ABLE TO ROTATE THEM AS ADVISED. AT NOW 27K THE CAR IS GOING ON ITS 3RD SET OF TIRES. I STILL CANNOT ROTATE THE TIRES AND THE REAR IS STILL TOED IN AND HONDA HAS NO "FIX-ACTION" FOR THIS. ALSO THE CAR CANNOT BE ALIGNED, HASN'T SINCE THE DAY I DROVE IT OFF THE SHOWROOM FLOOR. I LOVE HONDA'S BUT I DO FEEL THIS CAR MAY BE A LEMON AND IS BY FAR A SAFETY HAZARD ON WHEELS. I HAVE SINCE PARKED IT IN THE GARAGE UNTIL MYSELF AND AMERICAN HONDA COME TO TERMS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRES WERE WEARING PREMATURELY AND HE HEARD A LOUD NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS DIFFICULT TO CONTROL AT ANY SPEED. THE DEALER DISCOVERED THAT THE UPPER CONTROL ARM WAS DEFECTIVE, WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO BECOME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER AND THE TIRES TO WEAR. THE DEALER WILL REPLACE THE CONTROL ARM FOR FREE, BUT THE CONTACT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TIRE COST. THE MANUFACTURER IS AWARE OF THE DEFECT, BUT THERE IS NO RECALL. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 34,800 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200.
I PURCHASED 2006 HONDA CIVIC 4-DR. THE REAR OF THE CAR IS LOWER ON THE DRIVERS SIDE BY APPROXIMATELY 1/2" TO 3/4". THIS IS VERY NOTICEABLE AND I AM WORRIED IT MAY BE A SAFETY HAZARD. I HAVE SEEN OTHER MODEL VEHICLES THAT LOOK LIKE THEY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE ALSO SEEN THE SAME COMPLAINTS ONLINE. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. ALSO TOOK BACK A 2ND TIME WITH NO POSITIVE RESPONSE. *JB
SINCE WE BOUGHT THE CAR NEW WE HAVE REPLACED A TOTAL OF 7 SUN VISORS. ESPECIALLY DURING THE SUMMER, THE WARM WEATHER CAUSES THE SEAM TO FAIL AND THE VISOR SPLIT AT THE SHAFT. OUR EIGHTH ONE HAS FAILED. THE RESULT IS THAT THE VISOR HANGS DOWN AND WILL NOT RETURN UP OUT OF THE WAY. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM PER OUR DEALER. THERE NEEDS TO BE ENGINEERING OF THE PRODUCT. I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH MY 08 RAV4. A SEARCH OF THE INTERNET WILL RESULT IN A HISTORY OF COMPLAINTS.
VEHICLE TEMPERATURE ROSE AND LEARNED ALL COOLANT HAD LEAKED OUT. TURNS OUT AFTER HONDA LOOKED AT ENGINE CASING CRACKED. ENGINE HAS 80,000 MILES BUT THERE ARE PEOPLE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE AT 30,000. *TR
REAR TIRES WEAR OUT PREMATURELY ON THE INNER SIDE OF THE TIRE. THE MORE VISIBLE OUTSIDE OF THE TIRE REVEALS A SAFE AMOUNT OF REMAINING TREAD WHILE THE INSIDE MAY BE COMPLETELY GONE. FIRST SET OF TIRES WAS REPLACED AFTER 12,500 MILES DUE TO A FLAT TIRE ON THE REAR LEFT OF VEHICLE. AIR WAS LEAKING OUT THROUGH THE STEEL BELTS ON THE INNER SIDE OF THE LEFT REAR TIRE. THE OUTER SIDE OF THE TIRE'S TREAD WAS WELL ABOVE THE REPLACEMENT MARKS LOCATED IN THE TREAD. AS OF 7 DECEMBER 2011, A HONDA SERVICE CENTER WANTED $465 TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM THAT WAS ADDRESSED IN HONDA TSB 08-001. *TR
REAR RUNNING LIGHTS FAILED TWICE IN ONE WEEK. FUSE BOX WITH ELECTRONIC CHIP REPLACED ON FIRST VISIT AND LIGHTS FAILED AGAIN AFTER TWO DAYS. ABS LIGHT ALSO CAME ON DURING FIRST VISIT FOR REAR RUNNING LIGHT PROBLEM AND SERVICE DEPT REPLACED THE ABS MODULATOR AND BLED THE BRAKES BEFORE RETURNING CAR. SERVICE DEPT BAFFLED BY ELECTRICAL PROBLEM AND CONSULTED WITH HONDA ENGINEERS IN LOS ANGELES WHO RECOMMENDED REPLACING FUSE BOX WHICH IS NEW DESIGN AND HAS ELECTRONIC CHIP IN IT,UNLIKE EARLIER HONDA CIVIC MODELS. DEALER HAD DRIVEN APPROX. 30 MILES AND THOUGHT PROBLEM RESOLVED. SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE AS CAR HAS NO REAR LIGHTS VISIBLE AT NIGHT. *NM
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA CIVIC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SUN VISOR EXHIBITS CRACKS DUE TO THE HEAT AND SEPARATES FROM THE HOOK. THE FAILURE OCCURRED FOUR TIMES. THE VEHICLE HAS REPLACED THE SUN VISOR EACH TIME IT DETERIORATES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 62172.
I BOUGHT A 2006 HONDA CIVIC LX ON 02/21/06. I WAS AT THE MALL ON DATE BELOW AND WENT TO BACK OUT OF MY SPACE, WHEN A VAN BACKED OUT AND WE HIT BUMPERS. I WAS GOING TO PULL BACK INTO MY SPOT TO SEE THE DAMAGE AND WHEN I PUT THE CAR INTO DRIVE, IT TOOK OFF LIKE A ROCKET AND WOULD NOT STOP...I HAD BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE TRYING TO STOP IT, AND IT WOULD NOT STOP. I HIT A 2006 COBALT, MY CAR FLIPPED OVER ONTO ITS SIDE HIT A 2003 CHEVY DRIVING IN BETWEEN THESE TWO PARKED CARS . I THEN DROVE OVER THE COBALT AND WHEN I CAME TO THE END OF THESE CARS, MY CAR CAME OUT OF THEM AND FLEW THROUGH THE AIR OVER INTO THE PARKING SPACE ACROSS THE PARKING LOT. THE DEPUTY SHERIFF AND HIS SERGEANT CAME TO THE SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT AND SAID THAT THERE WAS NO WAY THAT HONDA CIVIC COULD HAVE DONE WHAT IT DID AND TO DRIVE OVER THE COBALT WITHOUT SOMETHING BEING WRONG WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL OR THE COMPUTER. I WENT ONTO HONDA'S WEB SITE AND FOUND THAT HONDA CIVICS WERE ON A RECALL FOR THE ACCELERATOR PEDALS. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR AND TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE RECALL, AND THE NEW CAR MANAGER TOLD ME IT WAS FOR THE TWO DOOR CIVICS ONLY, AND MAYBE I SHOULD HAVE TURNED THE KEY OFF WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I THEN CALLED THE GENERAL MANAGER AT THE SAME DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY AND TOLD HMI WHAT HAPPENED AND HIS COMMENT WAS "THAT WAS VERY UNFORTUNATE". I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM HONDA SINCE THIS HAPPENED. I HAVE TRIED TO CONTACT HONDA, AND THEY SAY THEY WILL CALL BACK, BUT NEVER DO. I DON'T WANT THIS CAR AND I DON'T FEEL THAT I SHOULD PAY FOR THIS DEATH TRAP OF A VEHICLE. I FEEL THAT IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE NOW. I WANTED HONDA TO KNOW THAT THE 4 DOOR CIVIC'S SHOULD BE ON A RECALL ALSO. I THINK HONDA IS NOT GOING TO STAND UP AND SAY THERE'S A PROBLEM. I KNOW WHAT I DID THAT DAY, AND I KNOW THAT THAT CIVIC COULD NOT HAVE DONE WHAT IT DID IN THAT SHORT DISTANCE WITHOUT SOMETHING GOING WRONG SOMEWHERE IN THAT CAR. *NM
SUN VISORS ON BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES CONSTANTLY SPLIT OPEN CAUSING THEM TO HANG DOWN (UNABLE TO PUT SUN VISOR UP) BLOCKING LINE OF SIGHT. VISORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED ONCE UNDER WARRANTY BUT CONTINUALLY BREAK. FORCED TO DRIVE WITH HANGING VISOR BLOCKING LINE OF SIGHT OR DRIVING WITH NO VISOR AT ALL RISKING SUN BLINDING AT CERTAIN TIME OF THE DAY. UPON LOOKING AT FORUMS ONLINE I'VE NOTICED THAT SEVERAL, SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE. VISORS APPEAR TO BE MELTING WITH HEAT FROM SUN. BAD DESIGN SINCE THE VISOR WILL OBVIOUSLY BE EXPOSED TO THE SUN. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA CIVIC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR WOULD NOT REMAIN IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING OR PARKED. UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. 10 MILES AFTER A COLD START-UP, THE CAR WENT TO FULL THROTTLE. I WAS ABLE TO HOLD IT IN PLACE WITH THE BRAKES. I TURNED THE IGNITION OFF MOMENTARILY, BUT THE CAR WENT BACK TO FULL THROTTLE. I THEN TURNED IT OFF FOR ABOUT 15 SECONDS, AND THE CAR REVERTED TO NORMAL OPERATION. THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS "ON", BUT NOT ENGAGED. NO SPEED HAD BEEN SET AFTER THE INITIAL STARTUP. THIS IS A HYBRID WITH FULL THROTTLE BY WIRE. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE SELLING DEALER, WHO HAD NO SERVICE BULLETIN ON THIS FAULT. HE SAID I WOULD HAVE TO LEAVE IT UNTIL THEY COULD REPLICATE THE FAULT. KNOWING THE FUTILITY OF THIS, I DECLINED TO LEAVE THE CAR. THE FAULT HAS NOT REAPPEARED. *JB

THE CAR IS NOW ABOUT 4 MONTHS OLD AND BOTH OF THE SUN VISORS ARE FALLING APART. THEY DID HELP ME, THEY CHECKED MY TIRES, REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES AND ALIGNMENT WAS DONE. BURSVILLE HONDA DID NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG ONLY UNEVEN WORN OUT TIRES. ABOUT EVERY 10,000 TO 15,000 MILES I HAVE TO HAVE ALL FOUR TIRES NEED TO BE REPLACED. BURNSVILLE HONDA HELPED ME 2 MORE TIMES THEN THE BUSINESS WAS SOLD TO WALSER HONDA. ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO, THE AIR CONDITIONING ON MY 2006 HONDA CIVIC STOPPED WORKING. I CALLED THE DEALER CLOSEST TO MY HOME GARDEN STATE HONDA IN CLIFTON AND BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE. I SPOKE WITH SARDI, A CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE AND WAS TOLD BY THE MECHANIC THERE WAS A ROCK EMBEDDED IN THE CONDENSER AND FOR $780 DOLLARS THEY COULD REPLACE IT. THERE WAS NO WARRANTY PROTECTION FOR THIS YEAR-OLD PART! I THEN SPOKE TO THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP. RELUCTANTLY, THE DEALER ADMITTED THAT THIS WAS NOT THE ONLY 2006 CIVIC THAT HAD SEEN THIS KIND OF DAMAGE. A LITTLE INVESTIGATION ON GOOGLE REVEALED THAT THIS IS A FAIRLY COMMON PROBLEM: HONDA'S DESIGN PUTS THE FRAGILE ALUMINUM AC CONDENSER IN A LOCATION THAT CAN EASILY RECEIVE DAMAGE. THERE IS NO ROCK SHIELD OR ANY OTHER GUARD TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING. THIS IS A CLEAR AND OBVIOUS DESIGN FLAW, ONE THAT MUST BE PROTECTED UNDER WARRANTY. THE DEALER INFORMED ME THAT EVEN IF HE MADE THE REPAIR, ANOTHER ROCK WOULD INEVITABLY HIT THE CONDENSER WITHOUT A SHIELD AND I'D END UP PAYING $780 ALL OVER AGAIN. THE CAR IS UNDER WARRANTY; HONDA HAS A MAJOR DESIGN FLAW AND SHOULD PROTECT ITS CUSTOMERS. THE DEALER SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. I CALLED THE HONDA CORPORATE OFFICE TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THERE WERE 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS THE IDENTICAL FAILURES OCCURRED TO THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR AND PASSENGER SUN VISOR WHICH WERE REPLACED.
