TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA CIVIC. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, HE NOTICED THAT THE HIGH MOUNT BRAKE LIGHT FAILED TO WORK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100,000. *TR
A NEW TEAM TEX AMERICA CAR SEAT WAS GIVEN TO A FAMILY THROUGH THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT AS THE FAMILY TRIED TO PUT THE SEAT IN WITH THE LOWER ANCHORS IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT A PART OF THE LOWER ANCHOR THAT SECURES IT TO THE SEAT SEEMED TO BE MELTED. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION IT APPEARS THAT THE MANUFACTURER USED A HEATING PROCESS TO CONNECT THE LOWER ANCHOR AND ANY SMALL AMOUNT OF PULLING ON THIS PIECE CAUSES THE HEATED AREA TO SEPARATE FROM THE CONNECTION ON THE SEAT ITSELF. WHILE DRIVING OUR 2007 HONDA CIVIC OUR AIR CONDITIONER STOPPED WORKING. UNFORTUNATELY WHEN I TOOK THE HONDA IN FOR REPAIR OUR WARRANTY DID NOT COVER THE CONDENSER BEING DAMAGED. A SMALL HOLE WAS THE CULPRIT OF THE PROBLEM AND IRONIC ENOUGH I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. HONDA NEEDS TO FIX THESE ISSUES CAUSING MOST OF THEIR VEHICLE GOING IN FOR REPAIRS THAT COST 500- 1000 TO FIX. I THINK IT CRAP AND ITS ALL OVER THE FORUMS SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE PUT IN PLACE TO HAVE THIS SITUATION FIXED IT CRAP. HONDA NEEDS A RECALL TO BE DONE ON THESE PARTS. *TR
THE SUN VISOR (PASSENGER SIDE) ON MY 2007 HONDA CIVIC SI SPLIT OPEN IN THE HOT SUN WHILE SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY. IT IS NOT REPAIRABLE AND WILL NOT STAY IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION. *TR
HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE AC SINCE I'VE BOUGHT THE CAR. NORMALLY SOMETHING SMALL LIKE THE BLOWER HOWEVER THIS WEEK IT WAS THE COMPRESSOR. HAVE MY CAR MAINTENANCE ON A REGULAR BASIS, OVERCHARGE OF SYSTEM IS NOT POSSIBLE, SO I'M NOT SURE WHY THIS COMPRESSOR WOULD BE GOING OUT AFTER ONLY 5 YEARS. COST OVER $1200 TO FIX. DECIDED TO RESEARCH A LITTLE ON THIS MODEL AND APPARENTLY THIS IS SOMETHING THAT IS COMMON ON THE 07 MODEL. I BELIEVE HONDA IS AWARE OF THE FAULTY PART AND IS NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY. I CALLED AND SPOKE WITH A GENTLEMAN WHO WAS VERY PLEASANT HOWEVER THIS WAS OBVIOUSLY ABOVE HIS PAY GRADE. HE SAID IF I HAD CONTACTED THEM BEFORE I HAD THE PART FIXED THEY MIGHT HAVE HELPED. HONDA NEEDS TO OWN UP TO THIS ISSUE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING HEARD LOUD HUMMING NOISE AND THE RIDE WAS ROUGH. BROUGHT VEHICLE TO HONDA DEALERSHIP IN BURLINGTON. THEY SAID THE TIRES WERE BADLY CUPPED. NEEDED TO REPLACE TIRES AND GET AN ALIGNMENT. BROUGHT VEHICLE FOR A SECOND OPINION. MECHANIC TOLD ME HONDA HAD TECHNICAL BULLETIN IN 2008 FOR UNEVEN WEAR IN REAR TIRES. THE REAR CAMBER ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. COST $250. HONDA WON'T PAY FOR IT EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND NEVER SAID ANYTHING. ADD FOUR NEW TIRES AND WHEEL ALIGNMENT AND YOUR LOOKING CLOSE TO $1000. IF YOU DON'T GET IT FIXED THE TIRES WILL WEAR DOWN REGARDLESS IF YOU GET TIRE ROTATIONS AND BLOW OUT. LUCKILY NO ONE HAS DIES FROM THIS BUT THIS SHOULDN'T BE THE REASON FOR NOT HAVING A RECALL. LOOK AT THE BLOGS, ETC. HONDA JUST TELLS EVERYONE TO REPLACE TIRES AND GET AN ALIGNMENT. PEOPLE DO AND KEEP COMING BACK TO REPLACE TIRES. HONDA HAS HID FROM THIS PROBLEM. I HAVEN'T REPLACED MY TIRES BUT IF I LISTENED TO HONDA I WOULD HAVE REPLACED TIRES AND BEEN BACK AGAIN IN 20,000-30,000 MILES TO REPLACE TIRES. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR A SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT HONDA HID FROM IT'S OWNERS. PLEASE HELP. *TR
EXCESSIVE REAR TIRE NOISE AND WEAR. I HAVE BEEN INFORMED THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN ON MY REAR UPPER CONTROL ARMS - THEY ARE NOT MARKED WITH A "C". (BUT SEE CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH I WAS INFORMED, BELOW.) I AM HAVING THE NEW CONTROL ARMS INSTALLED ON 9/2/12. (I HAD NEW REAR TIRES PUT ON, AND AN ALIGNMENT PERFORMED, 8/28/12.) I SPENT APPROXIMATELY $500 ON THE TIRES/ALIGNMENT. THE ESTIMATE FOR THE NEW CONTROL ARMS IS APPROXIMATELY $350. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY I HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR. I'VE NOTICED THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT EXCESSIVE REAR TIRE NOISE AND WEAR (AND SUBSEQUENT NEED FOR REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM REPLACEMENT) ON HONDA CIVICS OF THIS VINTAGE (2007). WHY IS THIS ONLY BEING TREATED AS A "SERVICE BULLETIN" RATHER THAN A "RECALL". BY THE WAY, I WOULDN'T HAVE EVEN KNOWN ABOUT THE PROBLEM IF MY HUSBAND WASN'T CONCERNED THAT THE NOISE WAS A WHEEL BEARING THAT WAS FAILING. I TOOK IT TO HONDA TO HAVE THEM CHECK OUT THE WHEEL BEARING AND THEY BLAMED THE NOISE ON A BROKEN TIRE BELT. WHEN I GOT HOME FROM THE DEALER I NOTICED THE INFORMATION ON MY INVOICE ABOUT THE "SERVICE BULLETIN". THEY HADN'T EVEN MENTIONED IT TO ME THEMSELVES! I HAVE BEEN A LOYAL HONDA DRIVER FOR APPROXIMATELY 15 YEARS. AS A RESULT OF THIS ISSUE, PLUS OTHER THINGS ABOUT THE CIVIC I'M JUST NOT CRAZY ABOUT, I WILL NEVER AGAIN BUY A HONDA PRODUCT! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA CIVIC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR BECAME CRACKED AND WOULD NOT REMAIN CLOSED. THE FAILURE WAS INTERFERING WITH THE DRIVER'S VIEW OF THE ROADWAY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
THE DRIVER SIDE INTERIOR SUN VISOR CAME APART AND CAME DOWN INTO THE DRIVER'S LINE OF SIGHT FOR NO APPARENT REASON. FURTHER INSPECTION INDICATED THAT IT HAD SPLIT AT THE SEAM NEAR THE LEFT SIDE WITH INTERNAL DAMAGE TO THE VISOR RENDERING IT BEYOND REPAIR. *TR
DRIVER SIDE VISOR STARTED TO GETTING STUCK AND LOOSE BEFORE COMPLETELY FALLING OFF THE HINGE. *TR
THE VISOR IS CRACKED AND WILL NOT STAY UP. *TR
IM SURE IM NOT THE 1ST PERSON TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS ISSUE MY CAR IS NIGHTHAWK BLACK PEARL ITS A 2DR HONDA CIVIC EX COUPE I'VE NOTICED THAT THE TOP OF MY ROOFS PAINT IS STARTING TO FADE AND IS SPREADING THAT'S NOT NORMAL. THE CLEAR CODE IS GOING AWAY LEAVING SPOTS THE SIZE OF A HAND. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE. *TR
3RD SET OF TIRES DUE TO TIRES WEARING UNEVENLY DUE TO REAR CONTROL ARM PROBLEM HONDA KNOWS ABOUT. *TR
THE FRONT LEFT SUSPENSION BEGAN TO EXHIBIT A METALLIC CLUNK NOISE WHEN DRIVING OVER BUMPS. THE CONCERN WAS THAT THIS PROBLEM WOULD LEAD TO A TOTAL FAILURE OF THE FRONT SUSPENSION SYSTEM. A HONDA DEALER ASSESSED THE CAUSE TO BE A FAILED FRONT SUSPENSION BUMPER STOP, WHICH HAS A HONDA SERVICE BULLETIN, NUMBER 07-078 (NHTSA NUMBER 10043607), DATED MARCH 2, 2012. THIS TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN WAS ACCOMPLISHED ON THE VEHICLE. *TR
PULLEY BOLT MALFUNCTIONED CAUSING WATER PUMP TO BREAK WHILE ALSO DAMAGING THE DRIVE BELT. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA CIVIC. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH OVER A BUMP, THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SEAT AND SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAGS BOTH DEPLOYED IN INADVERTENTLY EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS NO IMPACT TO THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO PERSONAL INJURY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000. *TR
DASHBOARD AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON. TOOK IT TO BE SERVICED AND CODE 32-10 INDICATED THE SRS CONTROL MODULE WIRING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS FAULTY AND THE WIRE HARNESS HAD TO BE REPLACED. MECHANIC CALLED HONDA, WHO STATED THEY KNEW ABOUT THE FAULTY WIRING PROBLEM BUT THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. UPON RESEARCHING THE INTERNET, THE PROBLEM IS VERY FREQUENT AND WIDESPREAD. THE WIRE HARNESS COST OVER $1000 TO BE REPLACED AND A WHOLE DAY OF LABOR. *TR
MY AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING FOR THE PAST FEW WEEKS, SO I TOOK IT TO A DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT. THEY HOOKED IT UP TO THE COMPUTER AND THEY SAID MY WIRING HARNESS WAS BAD BECAUSE OF HEAT UNDERNEATH MY CAR. I ASKED IF HONDA HAS RECALLED MY VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE AND THEY SAID NOT AT THIS TIME, BUT THEY HAVE SEEN THIS ISSUE QUITE OFTEN IN MY MODEL VEHICLE. THE COST OF THE REPAIR IS $600.00. WHY SHOULD I PAY FOR A SAFETY FEATURE THAT'S NEVER BEEN USED BEFORE? THEY ADMITTED THAT THE HARNESS IS BAD BECAUSE OF HEAT, SO THAT TELLS ME THEY HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THIS MODEL VEHICLE. *TR
RAPID TIRE WEAR OCCURRED ON THE INNER PORTIONS OF BOTH REAR TIRES. THE PROBLEM WAS DISCOVERED AFTER NOTICING MUCH ROAD NOISE AND HAVING THE TIRES ROTATED. TWO NEW TIRES WERE PURCHASED AND THE REAR UPPER CONTROL ARMS WERE REPLACED. THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS TO THIS DAY AFTER CONSULTING TWO DIFFERENT HONDA GARAGES THEY BOTH CONFIRMED THAT THE REAR CONTROL ARMS WERE INSTALLED CORRECTLY AND ARE WITHIN SPEC. BOTH GARAGES RECOMMENDED REPLACING THE TIRES AGAIN, BUT THIS IS BECOMING VERY COSTLY. THE RIDE OF THE CAR OVER THE LAST YEAR HAS GOTTEN SIGNIFICANTLY WORSE AND NOW I'M NOTICING BRAKING PROBLEMS. THE CAR HOPS IN THE BACK WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. HONDA IS DENYING THE PROBLEM AND HAS OFFERED NO COMPENSATION. *TR
I WENT TO HONDA DEALER FOR MAINTENANCE AND FOUND OUT THAT MY REAR TIRES ARE WEARING PREMATURELY AND UNEVENLY. I ONLY HAVE 38000 MILES ON THE CAR AND REGULARLY MAINTAINED AT HONDA DEALERSHIPS. DEALER SUGGESTED ME TO CHANGE ALL FOUR TIRES FOR THAT AND ALIGNMENTS + REPLACE REAR UPPER ARM, WHICH IS CAUSING UNEVEN WEARING OF REAR TIRES. HOWEVER HONDA IS NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND THEY CHARGES CUSTOMERS FOR ALL COST FOR PREMATURELY WEARING TIRES AND COST FOR REPLACING DEFECTIVELY DESIGNED PARTS. I HAVE SEARCHED ONLINE AND MANY OTHER CUSTOMERS ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS ISSUES AND HONDA IS UNRESPONSIVE TO THE ISSUE. *TR
THE REAR TIRES WEAR OUT UNEVENLY DUE TO DEFECTIVE REAR CONTROL ARMS. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 HONDA CIVIC LX WITH 36,000 MILES. I WAS TURNING LEFT INTO A PARKING SPACE GOING VERY SLOWLY (<5 MPH) WHEN MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. MY FOOT WAS NOT ON THE GAS PEDAL. I SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES AND THE CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AND I HIT A CURB WHICH THEN CAUSED THE CAR TO STOP ITS ACCELERATION. THE BRAKES DID NOT MAKE TOO MUCH DIFFERENCE AS THE CAR WAS CONTINUING TO MOVE FORWARD AND RPMS CONTINUED TO INCREASE AS I TRIED TO BRAKE. PREVIOUSLY, I HAD A PROBLEM WITH HIGH RPM'S AND INCREASED ACCELERATION AND ROUGH IDLING AT 34000 MILES. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHO REPLACED THE ENGINE MOUNT WHICH I FOUND OUT WAS UNDER MY POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. I HAVE ALSO HAD THE BATTERY REPLACED. OTHER THAN THAT, THOSE ARE THE ONLY ISSUES I HAVE EXPERIENCED UNTIL TODAY. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY SAID IT MUST BE OPERATOR ERROR, BUT WHY WOULD THE CAR CONTINUE TO ACCELERATE WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKES? I CHECKED THE MAT AS WELL AND IT HAD NOT BECOME ENTANGLED WITH THE GAS PEDAL AS THE DEALER SUGGESTED. THE CAR MOVING FORWARD AT HIGH RPMS BY ITSELF IS A CONCERN. I AM HAPPY THAT I DID NOT HAVE AN ACCIDENT OR HIT A PEDESTRIAN. I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT BECAUSE I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE AND AS I RESEARCHED, I AM FINDING THAT OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AS I AM UNDER SOME OF THE SAME CIRCUMSTANCES. REAR TIRES ARE CUPPING AND THEY'VE BECOME VERY NOISY AFTER 5,000 MILES. PROBLEM FIRST NOTICED: NOVEMBER 2011. THE REAR TIRES WERE ALWAYS SLIPPERY IN TIGHT CURVES AT NORMAL SPEED. WENT TO ROUTE 23 HONDA, NJ FOR A CHECK UP ON 02/16/12. THEY BLAMED MY NEW TIRES (10000 MILES OLD). CHARGED ME $96.25 FOR A 4 WHEEL ALIGNMENT, NO PROBLEM FOUND WITH THE REAR WHEELS. I HAVE ASKED THEM ABOUT SERVICE BULLETIN 08-001 (UNEVEN OR RAPID REAR TIRE WEAR) BUT THEY DID NOT ADMIT ANY FAULT. THEY'VE SAID MY CAR DOES NOT NEED A REPAIR AS PER SB 08-001 MENTIONED ABOVE. I HAVE CONTACTED (OPENED ACCOUNT WITH) AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO. THEY DID NOT CALL BACK. *TR
I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT THE 2007 HONDA CIVIC, I PURCHASED THE CAR ON OCTOBER 31ST, 2011 AND I NOTICED THAT THE FRONT END WAS MAKING A NOISE AND A VIBRATION WHEN I DECELERATE. TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY PUT NEW TIRES ONTO THE VEHICLE AND THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTED. OVER A LITTLE TIME UNTIL TODAY, THE NOISE AND VIBRATION IS STILL THERE AND WONT GO AWAY. I DONT KNOW IF ITS COMING FROM THE ENGINE OR THE DRIVETRAIN. I THINK ITS SOMETHING SERIOUS BUT I CANT REALLY TELL NOT BEING A CERTIFIED MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 07V399000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK:WHEEL SPEED SENSOR). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 125,000.
UNEVEN TIRE WEAR. HONDA WON'T REPLACE THE BAD CONTROL ARMS BECAUSE I PUT ON SNOW TIRES AND THEY SAID THAT VOIDS ANY WARRANTY I WOULD HAVE, I'VE GONE THROUGH SEVERAL SETS OF TIRES NOW. STEERING WHEEL SHAKES BADLY ANYTIME I GO OVER 50 MPH. BRAKES HAVE ISSUES. THE CAR IS UNSAFE AND HONDA WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. *TR
PAINT ON THE ROOF AND RAILS IS GETTING OXIDIZED(WITH MULTIPLE PATCHES ALL OVER THE ROOF) ON MY HONDA CIVIC COUPE 2007. I'M FIRST OWNER OF THE CAR AND I DO NOT EXPECT THE PAINT TO GET OXIDIZED WITH IN 5 YEARS. HONDA NEEDS TO FIX MY CAR AND THE PAINT THEY USE AND ALSO HONDA SHOULD MAKE DEALS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS FIX THE PAINT OXIDIZING WITH 10 YEARS OF THE CAR PURCHASE. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SPIN OUT OF CONTROL. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL WAS DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE POLICE WERE CALLED AND REPORTED TO THE SCENE, A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED NECK INJURIES AS A RESULT OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE OF THE SPECIFIC REPAIRS. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 07V399000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK:WHEEL SPEED SENSOR) BUT WAS ADVISED BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. MY HONDA CIVIC HYBRID IS NOT SAFE PLEASE HELP . MY 07 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE IMA BATTERY MOST TIMES IT INDICATES NO CHARGE VERY VERY VERY DANGEROUS . ONE EXAMPLE I CAME TO A TURN SIGNAL TO TURN LEFT THERE WERE APRROX 3 CARS AHEAD OF ME THE SIGNAL LIGHT TURNED GREEN THE CARS AHEAD OF ME WENT MY TURN I ACCELERATED NO POWER MY CAR CREEPED THRU THE INTERSECTION AS I STARTED MY TURN THE SIGNAL LIGHT WAS YELLOW THEN TURNED RED FOR ME AND GREEN FOR THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO GET HIT ON MY PASSENGER SIDE . THIS WAS NOT THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED BUT ONE OF THE MOST DANGEROUS ONES. PLEASE HELP! *TR
I AM NOW ON MY 3RD SET OF TIRES FOR THE REAR OF THIS CAR. IT KEEPS WEARING THE INNER REAR TIRES UNTIL THE BELT BECOMES EXPOSED AND HEAT UP. THERE IS A DANGER THAT IF GONE UNNOTICED THAT ONE OF THE TIRES WILL RUPTURE CAUSING A BLOWOUT AND A HIGH SPEED ACCIDENT! *TR
THE TIRE DEALER SAYS REAR TIRES ARE WEARING PREMATURELY AND REAR CONTROL ARMS MUST BE REPLACED OR NEW TIRES INSTALLED TODAY WILL ALSO WEAR PREMATURELY. REAR TIRES ARE CUPPING. THIS CAUSES TERRIBLE ROAD NOISE AND A ROUGH RIDE. HONDA ISSUED A FACTORY SERVICE BULLETIN TO DEALERS IN 2008 ABOUT THE CONTROL ARMS HAVING A DESIGN DEFECT THAT CAUSES TIRES TO WEAR PREMATURELY. HOWEVER, THEY NEVER INFORMED THEIR CUSTOMERS OF THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE BURNED THROUGH TWO SETS OF TIRES IN 4 YEARS AND LESS THAN 80K MILES. I JUST PUT THE THIRD SET OF TIRES ON TODAY. I ONLY FOUND OUT ABOUT THE CONTROL ARM PROBLEM BY DOING RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET. IT APPEARS SEVERAL HONDA CUSTOMERS HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM ON MODELS 06-08. SOME HAVE REPORTED CONTROL ARMS SNAPPING IN HALF. SINCE THIS PROBLEM TOOK SOME TIME TO DIAGNOSE, THE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. HONDA SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS DESIGN FLAW. *TR

BOTH THE PASSENGER CURTAIN AND SEAT AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS FOR NO DISCERNIBLE REASON. THIS AIRBAG FAILURE WAS NOT THE RESULT OF AN ACCIDENT, HITTING A POT HOLE OR ROAD IMPERFECTION OR ANY OTHER EXTERNAL IMPACT. THE CIVIC WAS WELL MAINTAINED AND IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH 33K MILES. THE CIVIC WAS NEVER IN A PRIOR ACCIDENT. IT IS TROUBLING THAT THE CAR WAS SERVICED AT THE HONDA DEALERSHIP ON 4/12/2011 FOR AN AIRBAG MALFUNCTION LIGHT. HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE (TEL # 800-999-1009) HAS NOT TAKEN RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE MALFUNCTION AND CLAIMED THE CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THIS WAS A DEPLORABLE RESPONSE BY HONDA TO AN INCIDENT THAT COULD HAVE RESULTED IN INJURY TO MANY PEOPLE GIVEN THAT IT OCCURRED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS ON A HEAVVILY TRAVELED PARKWAY. EXCESSIVE NOISE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS CAUSED ME TO ASK DEALER ABOUT THIS AS ONE SHOP STATED REAR SHOCKS WERE WORN AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. DEALER PRINTED OUT SERVICE BULLETIN 08-001 WHICH EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM ABOUT REAR TIRES CUPPING AND IMPROPER UPPER CONTROL ARMS BEING INSTALLED WHEN MANUFACTURED. DEALER HAS NOT SAID COST OF INCORRECT PART IS COVERED, AND I WILL HAVE TO BUY TWO NEW TIRES, REPLACEMENT COST OF BOTH UPPER CONTROL ARMS AND FOUR WHEEL ALIGNMENT. THIS IS A MANUFACTURING ERROR ON HONDA'S PART AND CONSUMERS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BEAR THE COST OF PART AND TIRE REPLACEMENTS. AMERICAN HONDA SHOULD RECALL AND REPLACE. 2007 CIVIC HYBRID WITH 46000 MI, THE IMA BTRY IS VERY WEAK, AND HONDA REFUSES TO HONOR THEIR 80000 MI WARRANTY. FOR THE 1ST TWO YEARS THE MILEAGE WAS 51.3 MPG. NOW IT HAS DROPPED TO 39 - 42 MPG, AND THE IMA BATTERY RARELY BOOSTS THE CAR DURING ACCELERATION. THIS IS DANGEROUS WHEN ENTERING AN INTERSTATE HWY, AND EVEN PULLING OUT OF MY HOUSING DEVELOPMENT ONTO THE 45 MPH ROAD BESIDE US. ENGINE RARELY STOPS WHEN STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, WHICH IT USED TO DO ALL OF THE TIME. BOTH LOCAL HONDA DEALER AND HONDA OF AMERICA SAY THEY CANNOT REPLACE BATTERY UNTIL THE COMPUTER GIVES A CODE SAYING IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THUS I PAID SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS EXTRA FOR A CAR THAT DOES NOT SAVE MUCH GAS AND IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. IF I DRIVE LOCALLY WITH NO A/C, THE IMA SYSTEM WILL SHOW 6 OR 7 SQUARES OF CHARGE WHEN I PARK IT. WHEN I START THE CAR THE NEXT DAY, THE CHARGE WILL DROP TO 1 - 3 SQUARES IN THE APPROX 1 BLOCK TO THE ENTRANCE TO MY HOUSING DEVELOPMENT, DRIVING AT 15 MPH. THEN, WHEN I STOP AT THE STOP SIGN AND TRY TO ACCELERATE TO 45 MPH TO BLEND INTO THE TRAFFIC I HAVE NO BOOST FROM THE HYBRID SYSTEM. LAST MONDAY I ALMOST GOT RUN OVER BY A SEMI WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE UP TO 60 MPH WHEN ENTERING THE INTERSTATE HWY. THIS CAR IS NO LONGER SAFE TO DRIVE! *TR
