I KEEP CHANGING BRAKES AND ROTORS. I HAVE DONE THIS 2-3 TIMES SO FAR. THE STEERING KEEPS SHAKING VIOLENTLY WHEN YOU APPLY BRAKES. IF YOU DON'T CHANGE THE ROTORS, THIS PROBLEM WILL GET WORSE, SO I AM FORCED TO KEEP CHANGING THE ROTORS EVERY OTHER YEAR. OVER THE YEARS, I HAVE HAD MANY HONDA CARS. I DON'T BELIEVE THIS IS A NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR CONDITION. I BELIEVE THERE'S A FUNDAMENTAL SAFETY PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES OR THE ROTORS. NOT SURE WHAT IS WRONG, BUT I BELIEVE THERE'S A SAFETY ISSUE WITH HONDA CIVIC 2007ROTORS AND BRAKE SYSTEM THAT SOMEONE NEEDS TO LOOK INTO IT. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS. *JS
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AROUND 9:30PM - 10:00PM IN THE RAIN. I HAD MY WIPERS ON, WHICH WERE WORKING FINE FOR APPROXIMATELY THE FIRST 15 MINUTES OF MY 40 MINUTE DRIVE. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES, THE WIPER BLADES OCCASIONALLY STOPPED RESTING AT THE BOTTOM OF THE WINDSHIELD WHILE ON INTERMITTENT, BUT WOULD REST SLIGHTLY HIGHER. THEY WOULD ALSO WIPE THE WINDSHIELD BETWEEN 3-5 TIMES IN A ROW, WHEN THE INTERMITTENT WAS SET TO WIPE ONCE EVERY FEW SECONDS. I TRIED TURNING THE INTERMITTENT OFF AND WOULD MANUALLY PUSH THE WIPER BAR IN THE CAR WHEN NEEDING MY WINDSHIELD CLEARED, TO SEE IF THAT WORKED BETTER. I RECEIVED THE SAME RESULTS, WITH THE WIPER BLADES NOT RESTING AT THE BOTTOM OF THE WINDSHIELD, AND THE BLADES WIPING 3-5 TIMES IN A ROW WITH ONLY ONE PUSH. ABOUT A WEEK LATER, IT RAINED AGAIN, AND I EXPERIENCE THE SAME THING AS DESCRIBED ABOVE, EXCEPT IT HAPPENED MORE FREQUENTLY THAN THE FIRST TIME. I WAS DRIVING IN TOWN THE SECOND TIME, INSTEAD OF THE INTERSTATE. *TR
I HAVE HONDA CIVIC SI 2007. I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING A PROBLEM WITH 3RD GEAR. IT POPS OUT AND SOMETIMES IT'S HARD TO GET IT IN THE 3DR GEAR. THE PROBLEM HAPPENED MORE FREQUENTLY WHEN THE WEATHER IS COOL AND IT'S INTERMEDIATE. IT COULD HAPPEN 2 TIMES A DAY OR 2 TIMES A WEEK DEPENDING ON THE WEATHER/DRIVING TIME AND CONDITIONS. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP IN MAHWAH, NJ (AS I BEEN TOLD CAR HAS BEEN TAKING FOR THE TEST DRIVE 7 TIMES AND TOTAL 22 MILES ON IT)AND NANUET, NY(2 TIMES TOTAL 10 MILES) AND I ALSO CALLED HONDA OF AMERICA TO FILE A COMPLAINT ABOUT IT 3 TIMES(CASE # [XXX]). AS A RESULT DEALERSHIPS COULDN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND HONDA OF AMERICA ONLY CAN ADVISE ME TO GO TO THE DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP. I HAVE EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THIS CAR IT WILL EXPIRE IN AUGUST 2013 AND AS I WAS TOLD AT HONDA OF AMERICA IT BECOMES MY PROBLEM AFTER WARRANTY WILL EXPIRE. DESIGN FAILURE OF THE REAR CONTROL ARM THAT IS TOO SHORT RESULTING IN IMPROPER CAMBER SETTING CAUSING ABNORMAL WEAR OF REAR TIRES.... EXCESSIVE WEAR ON INSIDE OF TIRES AND CUPPING. 2 SETS OF TIRES IN 43000 MILES. HAD TO REPLACE WITH AFTER MARKED "ADJUSTABLE" CAMBER ARMS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA CIVIC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE MADE A LOUD NOISE AND BEGAN TO SHAKE AS SOON AS IT WAS STARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE MOTOR MOUNT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 70,000. UPDATED 04-05-13 *BF
THE TIRES ON MY 2007 HONDA CIVIC KEPT SHOW BAD WEAR AND HAD TO ROTATE EVERY 10,000-15,000 UNTIL COULDN'T DO IT ANYMORE, BOUGHT SEVERAL SETS OF TIRES:: SOLVED THE PROBLEM BUY PAYING ALMOST $900 TO FIX THE ARMS ON THE REAR END. SAID THING IS HONDA KNEW AND KNOWS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM BUT WONT DO A RECALL... GOOD NEWS IS AFTER ALL MY SETS OF TIRES AND $900 DOLLARS MY CAR IS NOW GETTING GOOD WEAR OUT OF THE TIRES. *TR
AIR BAG WAS INOPERATIVE DUE TO CRIMP IN WIRE HARNESS ON PASSENGER SIDE. THERE WAS A HONDA BULLETIN ON THIS PROBLEM THAT EFFECTED SIMILAR MODELS. I PAID $1300 TO REPLACE DEFECTIVE AIR BAG WIRE HARNESS DUE TO POOR WORKMANSHIP. IT WAS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT HAD TO BE CORRECTED. I CONTACTED HONDA FOR REIMBURSEMENT, WHICH HONDA REFUSED, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE PROBLEM. *TR
PASSENGER SIDE TIRES EXPERIENCING EXCESSIVE WEAR ON INSIDE EDGE. TOOK TO MECHANIC FOR 4 WHEEL ALIGNMENT, BUT MECHANIC SAID UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY HAD EXCESSIVE NEGATIVE CAMBER WHICH COULD NOT BE ADJUSTED TO PROPER SETTING. MECHANIC INDICATED ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. FOUND THAT ISSUE APPEARS TO BE THE SAME AS THAT DETAILED IN HONDA SERVICE BULLETIN NO.: 08-001, ALSO DETAILED IN NHTSA ID NUMBER: 10024687. *TR
THE AIRBAG LIGHT WOULD COME ON IF WE HIT A SMALL POTHOLE. IT WOULD STAY ON SOMETIMES UNTIL THE KEY WAS CYCLED AND SOMETIMES FOR MORE THAN A DAY. AFTER THIS HAPPENING MORE AND MORE OFTEN WE FINALLY TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. IT TURNS OUT THAT THE DRIVER SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAG HAD A OPEN CIRCUIT IN THE INFLATOR PART. HONDA ONLY COVERED HAVE THE REPAIRS BUT THE SHOULD HAVE COVERED ALL OF IT. THIS IS MANDATORY SAFETY EQUIPMENT, IT SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER A LIFETIME WARRANTY LIKE THE SEAT BELTS. *TR
THE CAR GOES OUT OF THIRD GEAR OUT OF NOWHERE. I HAVE HAD THREE CLOSE CALLS ON THE FREEWAY DUE TO THE FACT THAT AS YOUR ACCELERATING THE GEAR STOPS WORKING AND LEAVES THE CAR IN NEUTRAL WHEN YOU SHOULD BE GOING FORWARD. THIS CAUSES THE CAR BEHIND YOU TO BRAKE SUDDENLY OR YOU TO LOOSE FOCUS OF WHAT'S IN FRONT OF YOU SINCE YOU TEND TO LOOK DOWN TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS AND DO NOT EXPECT YOU CAR TO BE OUT OF GEAR. *TR
REAR TIRES HAVE ABNORMAL WEAR WHICH IS CAUSING VIBRATION AND NOISE DUE TO A FAULTY REAR CONTROL ARM. THIS MAY CAUSE SAFETY PROBLEMS. *TR
THE CAR OVERHEATED AND ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE CAR HAD A CRACKED ENGINE BLOCK THAT HONDA ADMITTED IS A DEFECT OF THIS MODEL CAR BUT THEY ARE ONLY COVERING REPAIR FOR PEOPLE WHO COME IN WITH A PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP SUPPOSEDLY REPLACED THE CRACKED ENGINE BLOCK WITH A NEW ONE. THE ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ON 3 ADDITIONAL TIMES IN THE PAST MONTH SINCE THE ENGINE BLOCK WAS REPLACED. THE FIRST TIME WE WERE TOLD IT WAS THE OXYGEN SENSOR AND PAID APPROX. $380 FOR REPAIRS BECAUSE THEY CLAIM IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE INITIAL PROBLEM. LESS THEN AN HOUR AFTER GETTING THE CAR BACK THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. THIS TIME THEY SAID THAT THERE WAS DUST ON A SENSOR DO TO THE WORK THEY DID. THEY CLAIMED TO REPAIR IT FOR NO CHARGE. THEY SAID THEY DROVE IT FOR 20 MILES WITH NO PROBLEM. AGAIN WITHIN AN HOUR OF GETTING THE CAR BACK THE ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ON FOR A 4TH TIME. *TR
3RD GEAR FAILURE IN TRANSMISSION. GEAR BLEW OUT THE BOTTOM AND TOP CASING OF THE TRANSMISSION AND DESTROYED THE ENTIRE THING. HAD TO HAVE IT COMPLETELY REBUILT (ALMOST $3000). THIS WAS DETERMINED TO BE A MECHANICAL FAILURE. PRIOR TO THIS, I NOTICED THE 3RD GEAR WAS STICKING/FAILING TO SHIFT PROPERLY AND HAD THE TRANSMISSION CHECKED AND FLUSHED. THIS ONLY APPEARED TO HAVE MASKED THE ISSUE. AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES, THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE AND THE SPEEDOMETER JUMPED TO 0. THE CAR WOULDN'T MOVE, HAD TO BE TOWED (ADDITIONAL $100) AND THE REPAIR HAD TO BE MADE. FOR ANYONE WITH 3RD GEAR ISSUES - PLEASE HAVE THIS CHECKED ASAP AND PREVENT YOURSELF THE EXTREME EXPENSE I HAD! IT APPEARS AS IF, AFTER SEARCHING ONLINE, SEVERAL PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE... *TR
PAINT/CLEAR COAT IS DETERIORATING AND CRACKING. HONDA DEALER AND AMERICAN HONDA STATE THAT SINCE THE CAR IS BEYOND THE 3 YR WARRANTY, THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO (EVEN THOUGH IT IS A DEFECT). *TR
I HAVE A NEW SET OF TIRES AND I AM SURPRISE WHEN YOU START MOVING IT MAKES NOISE THAT SEEMS COMING FROM THE WHEELS/TIRES AND GOES AWAY WHEN YOU SLOW DOWN. IT'S MORE AUDIBLE IN THE REAR, I DON'T KNOW IF ITS THE SUSPENSION OR REAR CONTROL ARMS THAT WEAR OUT DURING THE YEARS. *TR
HONDA CIVIC 2007 COUPE ENGINE BLOCK BLOW OUT DURING JUST A 15 MINUTES SHORT DRIVE!!! IT HAPPENS IN JANUARY WHEN SEATTLE WEATHER IS VERY CHILLY, MY DASHBOARD INDICATE THE TEMPERATURE OF THE ENGINE IS ABNORMALLY HOT. PULLED OVER ON A RESIDENT STREET AND STOP FOR A WHILE, START ENGINE AFTER 5 MINUTES, IT'S EVEN WORSE. ENGINE OVERHEATED EVEN FASTER. HAVE TO PULL OVER EVERY SINGLE 5 MINUTES!!! WHEN I GOT OUT OF THE CAR, COOLANT ALL OVER THE FLOOR AND OBVIOUSLY I CANNOT MAKE MY WAY HOME EVEN IT'S 15 MINUTES AWAY FROM HOME. TURNS OUT THERE IS A RECALL (EXTENDED WARRANTY) AND HONDA MANUFACTURER AND DEALERSHIP SAID THEY WILL TAKE CARE OF IT WITHOUT ME PAYING FROM MY OWN POCKET. I STILL NEED TO PAY $500USD FOR THE WATER PUMP AND SOME PARTS CAUSE MY TECHNICIAN REPLACE IT BY OURSELVES BEFORE WE FOUND OUT THERE IS A RECALL/EXTENDED WARRANTY. NO CAR RENTALS AVAILABLE WHEN REPLACING THE ENGINE BLOCK DUE TO HONDA'S FAULT!!!! THE PAINT STARTED PEELING ON THE ROOF OF MY CAR, THEN WENT ON TO START ON MY HOOD. IT HAS BEEN QUICKLY PEELING MORE AND MORE AND LOOKING WORSE AND WORSE. BEFORE I WENT TO SPEND $600+ ON A NEW PAINT JOB, I FOUND OUT ONLINE THAT THERE ARE MANY OTHERS THAT HAVE COMPLAINED OF THE SAME EXACT THING HAPPENING TO THEIR HONDA CIVICS. IF THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH THE QUALITY OF HONDA'S PAINT, WHICH IS WHAT MOST SOURCES ARE SAYING, THEY SHOULD FIX IT FOR FREE. IT'S A 2007, THIS IS NOT NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. *TR
I AM ONLY ENTERING LIGHTING ON THIS COMPLAINT. IT IS NOW APPARENT TO ME THAT MOST 2007 HONDA CIVIC SEDANS SUFFER FROM FAILURE OF THE THIRD (HIGH MOUNTED) BRAKE LIGHT. THIS LIGHT WORKS INTERMITTENTLY AND MAY NOT HAVE BEEN WORKING AT TIME THAT I WAS INVOLVED IN A REAR-END COLLISION. I ALSO OWN A 2006 HONDA CIVIC SEDAN THAT HAS THE SAME PROBLEM. IN MY DAY TO DAY DRIVING, I HAVE NOTICED THAT MOST OTHER HONDA CIVIC SEDANS ALSO SUFFER FROM FAILURE OF THE THIRD BRAKE LIGHT. SRS LIGHT ON. DEALER SAID FLOOR WIRE HARNESS IS CRIMPED AND AIR BAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY IN A CRASH. SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
THE ENGINE MOUNTS ARE FAILING ON THIS MODEL OF CIVIC. ACCORDING TO MANY ONLINE DISCUSSION FORUMS, A LOT OF OTHER USERS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS CAUSING EXCESSIVE NOISE AND VIBRATION, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE VEHICLE IS COLD. MY CAR HAS UNDER 90,000 MILES AND I SPENT OVER $400 TO REPLACE THEM. I AM SURPRISED THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL ISSUED FOR THIS BY THE MANUFACTURER ALREADY AND I BELIEVE THAT THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUED CONSIDERING THE HIGH NUMBER OF OTHER REPORTS OF THIS FAILURE ON THESE MODELS. DRIVER'S SIDE SEATBELT FRAYED. TAKEN TO DEALER FOR REPAIR AND WAS TOLD THAT SEATBELT BEING CAUGHT IN THE DOOR CAUSED THE DAMAGE TO THE SEATBELT. THE SEATBELT DOES NOT RETRACT FULLY, SO THIS MAY BE CAUSING THE BELT TO BE CLOSED IN THE DOOR. THE SEATBELT MATERIAL SHOULD BE STRONG AND DURABLE AND SHOULD NOT BE DAMAGED BY A DOOR. THIS IS A TREMENDOUS SAFETY CONCERN AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED. AN ORDER FOR THE REPLACEMENT PARTS WAS NOT COMPLETED BY THE DEALERSHIP, SO OF COURSE, PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE AT SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT FOR REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS FORCED TO LEAVE THE DEALERSHIP, WITH A FAULTY SAFETY COMPONENT OF THE CAR (SEATBELT) AND NO GUARANTEE OF DRIVER SAFETY AND PROPER FUNCTION OF THE SEATBELT IF INVOLVED IN A CRASH. COST IS NOT AN ISSUE, SINCE THE SAFETY OF FAMILY COMES FIRST AND OWNER IM WILLING TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CHARGES SINCE THIS WAS NOT COVERED BY A WARRANTY. I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT THE REASON FOR MY IRREGULAR WEAR ON MY TIRES HAS NOT BEEN ALIGNMENT PROBLEMS BUT A PROBLEM THAT HONDA HAS HAD WITH NOT HAVING THE RIGHT REAR UPPER CONTROL ARMS. MY LOWBEAMS ALL OF A SUDDEN STOPPED WORKING. I CHECKED THE FUSES, THEY ARE FINE. MY RUNNING/FOG LIGHTS, BLINKERS, AND HIGH BEAMS ALL WORK. THE REAR WHEELS HAD EXCESSIVE AND UNEVEN TIRE WEAR ON THE INSIDE OF BOTH TIRES, BECAUSE OF THE REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM BEING TOO SHORT, CAUSING THE CAMBER TO BE OUT. THIS IN TURN, CAUSED MISALIGNMENT AND EXCESSIVE TIRE WEAR. I HAD NO WARNING OF HOW FAST MY TIRES WERE WEARING OUT, AND THEY ALMOST WORE TO THE STEEL BELT, WHICH COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. I REGULARLY SERVICE MY HONDA CIVIC AT THE HONDA DEALER FOR EACH OIL CHANGE AND INSPECTION, BUT WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF ANY PROBLEMS AT THE LAST SERVICE APPOINTMENT. TEXAS - WAS TRAVELING DOWN HIGHWAY WHEN CAR SUDDENLY FELT LIKE A TIRE WAS GOING DOWN. QUICKLY EXITED AND CAR DIED AS THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE SHOWED VEHICLE WAS HOT. HAD NO PRIOR WARNING INDICATION ENGINE WAS HOT. THIS TOTAL INCIDENT SUDDENLY OCCURRED AND ENDED IN LESS THAN 1 MINUTE. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO MECHANIC WHO MAINTAINS VEHICLE ON A REGULAR BASIS. MECHANIC ADVISED THAT ENGINE WAS COMPLETELY GONE DUE TO CRACKED BLOCK WHICH ALSO BLEW THE HEAD. MECHANIC FURTHER ADVISED THAT HONDA HAD TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS REFERENCE THIS VEHICLE MODEL WITH ENGINE AND COOLING PROBLEMS AND HAD EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THIS PROBLEM. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO LOCAL HONDA DEALER AND HONDA IS REPLACING THE WHOLE ENGINE BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM AT NO FURTHER COST TO ME. VERY HAPPY WITH MY DEALERSHIP. *TR
FELT VERY STRONG VIBRATION IN STEERING WHEEL. ALL PASSENGERS FELT THE VIBRATION ALSO. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP AND A BROKEN MOTOR MOUNT WAS DISCOVERED. HAD MOTOR MOUNT REPLACED FOR FEAR OF VEHICLE BREAKDOWN. *TR
AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ON DASH GOES OFF AND ON AT A VARIABLE BASIS. TAKEN TO DEALER. DEALER COULD NOT FIGURE OUR PROBLEM. IMPACT IS ONE DOES NOT KNOW IF AIR BAG IS FUNCTIONAL OR NOT!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE EMITTING FROM UNDER THE HOOD ACCOMPANIED BY A BURNING ODOR. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER STEERING WITHOUT ANY WARNING INDICATORS BEING ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA CIVIC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH HE ENGAGED THE BRAKES TO STOP AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT HE HAD TO ENGAGE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IN ORDER TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. TOOK CAR TO MY MECHANIC FOR SRS LIGHT ON. HE PUT IT ON HIS COMPUTER AND CODE 32-10 COMES UP FOR "OPEN OR INCREASED RESISTANCE IN RIGHT SIDE AIRBAG INFLATER". HE SAID TO TAKE IT TO HONDA DEALER FOR REPAIR. HONDA SERVICE MAN TELLS ME WIRING HARNESS NEEDS TO BE REPLACED A $1,200.00 REPAIR!! HONDA HAS HAD MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. HONDA EVEN HAS A SERVICE BULLETIN OUT FOR THIS PROBLEM. SAYS FLOOR WIRE HARNESS HAS A POOR CRIMP IN IT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. HONDA NEEDS TO HAVE A RECALL ON THIS!! *TR
I REPLACED THE ORIGINAL TIRES ON MY 2007 HONDA CIVIC AT 49,749 MILES. I THOUGHT THIS WAS A LITTLE PREMATURE, BUT THE TREAD WAS GETTING THIN SO I WENT TO DISCOUNT TIRE ON 12-28-2010 AND HAD 4 NEW TIRES PLACED ON THE VEHICLE. AFTER LESS THAN 19,000 MILES ON THE NEW TIRES, THE PASSENGER-SIDE REAR TIRE WAS MAKING A LOUD NOISE. THE TECHNICIAN AT DISCOUNT TIRE INSPECTED IT AND STATED THAT THE INSIDE EDGE OF THE TIRE IS CUPPING (OR LOOKS CHOPPY) AND THIS IS TYPICALLY DUE TO BAD SUSPENSION, WHEEL BEARINGS OR ALIGNMENT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO TOM'S AUTO REPAIR AND HAD IT INSPECTED FOR THE WHEEL BEARINGS AND SHOCKS AND HAD A 4 WHEEL ALIGNMENT DONE FOR $55.00. THEY STATED THE WHEEL BEARS AND SHOCKS LOOKED FINE AND THAT THE ALIGNMENT WASN'T THAT BAD. I THEN TOOK THE CAR BACK TO DISCOUNT TIRE AND THEY AGREED TO REPLACE THE PASSENGER-SIDE REAR TIRE FOR THE REPLACEMENT COST OF $13.25. THE TECHNICIAN COMMENTED THAT THE DRIVER-SIDE REAR TIRE WAS ALSO STARTING TO SHOW SIGNS OF THE SAME WEAR PATTERN, I.E. CUPPING ON THE INNER EDGE. THE TIRE WHICH THEY REPLACED IS NOT AVAILABLE AS IT WAS DISPOSED OF BY DISCOUNT TIRE. I RESEARCHED ON-LINE AND FOUND HONDA HAD ISSUED TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN # 08-001 BACK ON APRIL 11, 2008, WITH A REVISION ISSUED ON FEBRUARY 5, 2009. FROM READING NUMEROUS ON-LINE CONSUMER COMMENTS ABOUT THIS TIRE ISSUE (WHICH IS DIRECTLY ATTRIBUTABLE TO A HONDA DESIGN FLAW IN THE VEHICLE SUSPENSION), I GET THE FEELING HONDA'S FIX WILL NOT ACTUALLY FIX THE PROBLEM. *TR
I'VE HAD THIS CAR SINCE NEW AND IT ABSOLUTELY EATS TIRES IN THE REAR. THE TIRE WEAR IS NOT ADJUSTABLE AND EVENTUALLY LEADS TO PREMATURE TIRE FAILURE. I'VE HAD THIS HAPPEN TO ME 2 TIMES ON HIGHWAY DRIVING, WHERE THE TIRE HAS HAD A BLOWOUT. HONDA IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE WITH A DESIGN FLAW IN THE REAR CONTROL ARMS THAT CAUSES THE WEAR, BUT REFUSES TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY HAVE REDESIGNED THE CONTROL ARM, BUT IT DOES NOT FIX THE ISSUE. IT IS JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THIS DESIGN ISSUE KILLS SOMEONE FROM A TIRE RELATED FAILURE. YOU CAN'T SEE THE PROBLEM BECAUSE IT'S ON THE VERY INNER MOST PART OF THE TIRE. IT ISN'T JUST THAT IT MAKES THE TIRE BALD - THERE IS SEVERE CUPPING AND THE TIRE IS MORE WORN IN SOME SPOTS THAN OTHERS. SO EVEN IF YOU VISUALLY INSPECT THE TIRE, BY GETTING ON YOUR HANDS AND KNEES AND PUTTING YOUR HEAD UNDER THE CAR, YOU COULD MISS WHERE THE TIRE IS ALMOST WORN THROUGH, IF THE CAR IS SITTING ON THAT PART OF THE TIRE. THIS ISSUE IS VERY DANGEROUS! IT MAKES ROTATING THE TIRES UNADVISABLE BECAUSE IT RUINS ALL 4 TIRES INSTEAD OF JUST THE REAR TWO. IT MAKES IT SO THE PERFORMANCE OF THE TIRES IS CONSIDERABLY LESS BECAUSE PARTS OF THE TIRE ARE SEVERLY COMPROMISED. *TR
