CAR IS VERY UNSTABLE WHEN SUBJECTED TO CROSSWINDS. STEERING CORRECTIONS HAVE TO BE CONSTANTLY MADE TO KEEP THE CAR ON COURSE. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS OVERCORRECTIONS CAN HAPPEN. I NOTICE OTHER SIMILAR SIZE CARS I'M FOLLOWING ON THE HIGHWAY IN THE SAME CONDITIONS ARE NOT NEARLY AFFECTED AS I AM. I PURCHASED THE CAR USED WITH 60K MILES BACK IN 10/2010 AND IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN A PROBLEM. I HAD THE REAR UPPER SUSPENSION ARMS REPLACED (AT MY EXPENSE) WITH AN AFTERMARKET BRAND TO CORRECT THE CASTER PROBLEM BACK INTO SPECIFICATION AND THE TIRES HAVE BEEN REPLACED BUT THIS HAS NOT MADE ANY DIFFERENCE IN THE WAY THE CAR HANDLES IN SIDE WIND CONDITIONS. *TR
WHILE OPERATING THE ABOVE VEHICLE, THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR IMPLODED, BECAME UNSTABLE AND FELL INTO MY LINE OF SIGHT. THIS WAS A KNOWN HAZARDOUS DEFECT ON BEHALF OF THE MANUFACTURER, HONDA. I JUST BECAME AWARE THIS HAS BEEN A WELL DOCUMENTED FLAW IN THE DESIGN AND THE COMPANY HAS BEEN PUT ON NOTICE. THE FAILURE OF HONDA TO VOLUNTARILY RECALL AND/OR REPAIR THE DEFECTED VISOR AMOUNTS TO NEGLIGENCE ACCORDING TO MOST STATE CASE LAW. THIS SHOULD IMMEDIATELY RESULT IN A CIVIL ACTION BEFORE ANOTHER FAILED PRODUCT PRESENTS AN UNDUE HAZARD TO ANOTHER VICTIM OF HONDA.
2007 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID. CONSUMER STATES PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE BATTERY *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED SHE RECEIVED A LETTER FROM HONDA MOTOR CORP. TO VISIT HER DEALER FOR A SOFTWARE UPDATE TO PREVENT PREMATURE DETERIORATION ON THE IMA BATTERY. THE CONSUMER STATED SHE WAS GETTING POOR GAS MILEAGE. SHE THEN NOTICED THE VEHICLE'S PERFORMANCE WAS EXTREMELY SLUGGISH. EVERY TIME SHE STARTED THE VEHICLE AND BEGAN DRIVING, THE GAUGE THAT DISPLAYED THE IMA BATTERY'S CHARGE DROPPED TO ONE BAR AND THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO ASSIST FROM THE IMA SYSTEM UPON ACCELERATION, WHICH WAS THE PROCESS OF THE BATTERY RECALIBRATING AND TRYING TO EVALUATE IF THERE WAS ENOUGH CHARGE AVAILABLE TO ASSIST THE INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE, WHICH COULD LEAVE THE VEHICLE DANGEROUSLY UNDER-POWERED WHEN MERGING INTO INTERSTATE TRAFFIC. THE CONSUMER ALSO STATED SHE HAD DIFFICULTY TURNING LEFT AT A BUSY INTERSECTION DUE TO LACK OF ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE ALMOST NEVER SHUT OFF WITH THE AUTO-STOP FEATURE DUE TO LOW CHARGE OF THE IMA BATTERY. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA CIVIC. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION FROM THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING A THREE YEAR EXTENDED WARRANTY ASSOCIATED WITH THE ENGINE BLOCK. THE CONTACT WAS IN DISAGREEMENT WITH THE THREE YEAR WARRANTY COVERAGE DUE TO HIS VEHICLE EXHIBITED LOW MILEAGE, AND THAT HE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE WARRANTY IF HE WERE TO EXPERIENCE ENGINE FAILURE AFTER THE THREE YEAR WARRANTY EXTENSION. THERE WAS NO FAILURE MILEAGE.
THE SUN VISORS (BOTH DRIVERS AND PASSENGER ) SPLIT AT THE TOP SEAMS WHERE THEY ARE GLUED TOGETHER, MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR VISORS TO STAY UP; THUS OBSCURING THE VISION OF BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THE PASSENGER SUN VISOR HAS BEEN REPLACED FOR THE SAME DEFECT WHICH IS A MANUFACTURING, DESIGN, AND ENGINEERING DEFECT. I WAS ADVISED BY SEVERAL HONDA EMPLOYEES THAT NUMEROUS SUN VISORS ARE REPLACED ON A WEEKLY BASIS FOR THE IDENTICAL DEFECT, JUST AT ONE DEALERSHIP. THIS IS NOT A DEALERSHIP ISSUE BUT A HONDA ISSUE. IT IS TO BE NOTED THAT THE SUN VISORS WERE IN NO WAY ABUSED OR EVEN USED THAT MUCH BUT THE SEAMS JUST SPLIT. I HAVE BEEN IN LAW ENFORCEMENT FOR OVER THIRTY YEARS AND CAN ASSURE YOU THAT THIS DEFECT NOT ONLY AFFECTS THE INDIVIDUALS IN THE HONDA WITH THE DEFECTIVE SUN VISORS BUT OTHER DRIVERS AND PEDESTRIANS AS WELL, RESULTING FROM THE OBSCURED VISION, I WAS ADVISED THAT HONDA IS AWARE OF THE DEFECT BUT CONTINUES TO USE THE SAME SUN VISORS IN NEW VEHICLES AND THAT THEY CONTINUE TO FAIL BY SPLITTING AT THE SEAMS THERE WAS NO RESULTING ACCIDENT, I WAS ADVISED THAT THE SUN VISORS WOULD HAVE TO BE RETURNED TO HONDA BUT I DID PHOTOGRAPH THEM AND THE PHOTOS ARE AVAILABLE. IT IS TO BE NOTED THAT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THE DEALERSHIP WAS EXCELLENT AND THAT HONDA DID REPLACE THEM AT A REDUCED COST EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE HAD APPROXIMATELY 51,000 MILES ON IT AND WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. *TR
2007 HONDA CIVIC, UNINTENDED ACCELERATION HAS OCCURRED 2 TIMES WHILE SITTING IN TRAFFIC WITH FOOT ON BRAKE, NO INTERFERENCE FROM FLOOR MAT, CAR IN DRIVE. 1ST TIME CAR HAD BEEN DRIVEN 45 MINUTES, 2ND TIME ONLY ABOUT 5 MINUTES. NO PARTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED, BUT IDLE HAS BEEN "RELEARNED", AND OTHER SOFTWARE ELEMENTS HAVE BEEN REINSTALLED. SO FAR, TECHNICIANS HAVE NOT IDENTIFIED CAUSE OF UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. BECAUSE IT FORTUNATELY HAPPENED WHILE DRIVER'S FOOT WAS ON BRAKE, NO DAMAGE OCCURRED, SINCE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO HOLD CAR IN POSITION UNTIL IT WAS TURNED OFF THE FIRST TIME. CAR WAS RACING FOR ABOUT 10-15 SECONDS BEFORE TURNED OFF. WHEN TURNED BACK ON WITH CAR IN PARK, THE ENGINE STILL RACED FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS THEN CAME BACK TO NORMAL IDLE AND DRIVER WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO DESTINATION WITH NO FURTHER PROBLEM. CAR WAS TAKEN THE NEXT MORNING TO DEALERSHIP AND KEPT FOR TWO WEEKS WHILE TECHNICIANS TESTED IT, DROVE IT OVER 500 MILES, HAD FACTORY TECHNICIANS COME, AND PERFORMED UPDATES AND REINSTALLATIONS LISTED ABOVE. THE CAR WAS DECLARED SAFE AND RUNNING ACCORDING TO HONDA SPECS, SO OWNER TOOK BACK THE CAR. WEEK LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN. 2ND TIME, DRIVER WAS ABLE TO PUT CAR IN NEUTRAL, AT WHICH POINT RPMS ROSE TO OVER 5000, THEN DROPPED BACK TO NORMAL IDLE. CURRENTLY CAR IS BEING CHECKED AT DEALERSHIP AGAIN. *TR
I RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM HONDA CORPORATION THAT THE WARRANTY ON MY 2007 HONDA CIVICS' ENGINE BLOCK HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO EIGHT YEARS FROM DATE OF PURCHASE. I READ ONLINE THAT THE ENGINE BLOCKS WILL CRACK AS A RESULT OF DEFECTIVE CASTING AT THE TIME THE ENGINE BLOCKS WERE MANUFACTURED. I'VE READ ONLINE MANY, MANY COMPLAINTS OF CRACKED BLOCKS AS A RESULT OF THIS DEFECT. THIS NEEDS TO BE A RECALL AND NOT A WARRANTY EXTENSION. THIS DEFECT WILL RESULT IN COMPLETE ENGINE FAILURE AND PUT MY FAMILY AT RISK ON THE HIGHWAY. ALSO, THIS DEFECT WILL SEVERELY DEVALUE MY CAR FOR SALE OR TRADE IN VALUE. HONDA CO. NEEDS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM THAT THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR. *TR
THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR ON MY 2007 HONDA CIVIC IS DEFECTIVE. THE PLASTIC PIECES THAT ATTACH IT TO THE MOUNTING HAS MELTED DUE TO THE HEAT INSIDE OF THE CAR AND CAUSES THE VISOR TO NOT BE ABLE TO BE PUT BACK INTO THE UPRIGHT POSITION. BEFORE IT TOTALLY BROKE, IT WOULD FALL DOWN INTO MY LINE OF VISION WHILE DRIVING, SINCE IT WAS NOT ABLE TO BE FOLDED BACK UP PROPERLY DUE TO THE DAMAGED PARTS. IT NOW HANGS PARTIALLY IN MY LINE OF VISION SINCE IT NO LONGER CAN BE FOLDED UP PROPERLY. I HAVE READ COUNTLESS SIMILAR COMPLAINTS OF THIS HAPPENING ON OTHER HONDA CIVICS AND IT'S A SHAME THAT HONDA DOESN'T CONSIDER THIS A "SAFETY HAZARD"! *TR
I TOOK MY 2007 CIVIC HYBRID FOR A SERVICE AT BUENA PARK HONDA ON 9/16/10 AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE IS A RECALL TO MY CAR ABOUT THE IMA BATTERY. THEY SAID THEY WILL FIX THE PROBLEM. AFTER 2 DAYS OF DRIVING, I NOTICED THAT I WAS NOT GETTING THE BATTERY ASSIST THAT I USED TO GET. THERE WERE STILL 4 BARS ON MY BATTERY METER AND I WAS NOT GETTING THE POWER THAT I NEEDED TO PASS A CAR OR DURING MERGING LANES ON THE FREEWAY. I ALSO NOTICED THE DROP OF MY MPG. I HAVE THE SAME EVERYDAY DRIVING SINCE I BOUGHT MY CAR. IT WENT FROM AN AVERAGE OF 40 MPG TO 31 MPG!!! THAT TAKES AWAY THE POINT OF ME BUYING A HYBRID. I AM VERY UNHAPPY ABOUT THIS SITUATION SO I STARTED SEARCHING IF ANYONE ELSE HAVE THESE PROBLEMS AND IT TURNED OUT THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY UNHAPPY CIVIC HYBRID OWNER. I REALLY FEEL UNSAFE ABOUT THIS. I ALSO NOTICED THAT WHEN I HAVE 7 BARS LEFT AND DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, I KNOW ITS CHARGING WHEN I USE THE CRUISE CONTROL, ALL OF A SUDDEN IT WILL GO TO FULL BARS WITHOUT EVEN FILLING UP THE 8, 9. BARS. THAT MAKES IT VERY SUSPICIOUS IF IT IS REALLY CHARGED UP. ALL I CAN SAY IS HOPEFULLY HONDA WILL FIX THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE THIS IS OUR 4TH HONDA VEHICLE AND WE LOVE IT BECAUSE OF THE RELIABILITY AND EFFICIENCY THAT IT HAD GIVEN US. 2007 HONDA CIVIC DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR CRACKED/POPPED APART CAUSING AN INABILITY TO PUSH IT UP ALL THE WAY, OBSCURED VIEW WHILE DRIVING; CAR IS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD WITH ~29,000 MILES ON IT; FOUND IT THIS WAY AFTER IT HAD BEEN PARKED AT THE AIRPORT FOR 2.5 DAYS; CALLED HONDA AMERICA AND WAS GIVEN A CASE NUMBER AND THEN TOLD I HAD 5 DAYS TO GO TO A HONDA DEALER TO "DIAGNOSE" THE PROBLEM AND A CASE MANAGER WOULD CALL ME BUT THERE WAS NO GUARANTEE THEY WOULD DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS....THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ONLINE AND IT'S A SAFETY HAZARD AND THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 HONDA CIVIC COUPE AND BOTH THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER SUN VISORS HAVE BECOME LOOSE AND HANG DOWN IN THE WAY CONSTANTLY. THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR HAS NOW DETACHED AND IS OF NO USE FOR BLOCKING SUNLIGHT. THERE HAVE BEEN MANY TIMES THAT MY VISION AS A DRIVER HAS BEEN COMPROMISED DUE TO THE LACK OF PROTECTION FROM THE SUN VISOR. I FEEL EXTREMELY UNSAFE DRIVING IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT, EVEN WITH THE PROTECTION OF SUNGLASSES. THE PASSENGER SIDE VISOR SEEMS AS THOUGH IT WILL EVENTUALLY DETACH AS WELL. THE FAILURE HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED, AS IT HAPPENED JUST AFTER MY CAR WASN'T UNDER WARRANTY ANYMORE. THE REPLACEMENT OF THESE VISORS WILL COST $75 EACH AND MY HONDA DEALERSHIP DOESN'T GUARANTEE THAT THE NEW VISORS WON'T HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS THAT THE OLD ONES HAD. I HAVE DONE RESEARCH AND MANY OTHER CIVIC OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE VISORS. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT HONDA CORRECTS THIS PROBLEM AND HAS A RECALL FOR THE SUN VISORS, OTHERWISE AS A CONSUMER CONCERNED ABOUT MY SAFETY, I WILL NOT WANT TO PURCHASE ANOTHER HONDA. *TR
HONDA OWNERS HAVE REPORTED ENGINE BLOCK FAILURES ON 2006-2009 HONDA CIVICS WHERE CRACKS FORM AT THE BOTTOM AND ALLOW ENGINE COOLANT TO ESCAPE. HONDA HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THE DEFECT WITH AN EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT HAS NOT AGREED TO FIX THE PROBLEM UNTIL IT HAPPENS. THE ISSUE I HAVE IS THAT THERE MAY BE NO WARNING OF WHEN THE 6 CRACKS WILL APPEAR AND SINCE THE COOLANT ESCAPE IS IN THE ENGINE BLOCK RATHER THAN SAY A HOSE THERE MIGHT BE NO WARNING UNTIL THE ENGINE FAILS AND STALLS FROM THERMAL STRESSES. THIS COULD POSE A SAFETY HAZARD IF IT HAPPENS ON A CROWDED FREEWAY WHERE THE DRIVER CANNOT QUICKLY PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. NOTE: I HAD TO ENTER AN INCIDENT DATE TO CONTINUE ALTHOUGH THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED TO MY CAR YET. *TR
3 MONTHS AFTER BUYING VEHICLE NOTICED AC RUNNING WARM. FIRST TOLD BY HONDA CARLAND CARTERSVILLE THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG. TOOK IT BACK TO HONDA CARLAND ROSWELL THAT FREON WAS LOW AND COOLANT BUT NO LEAK. HAVE HAD CONTINUOUS PROBLEMS WITH AC RUNNING HOT. YESTERDAY WENT TO GROCERY STORE AND WHEN I WALKED BACKED TO CAR NOTICED SOMETHING LEAKING UNDERNEATH. TRIED TO GET IT TO CAR REPAIR PLACE BUT CAR IMMEDIATELY RAN HOT. TOWED IT AND THEY CALLED SAYING THAT THE ENGINE BLOCK HAS A CRACK. NOTICING MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS FOR 06-07 HONDA CIVIC ENGINE BLOCK CRACKS WITH INITIAL PROBLEMS SHOWING IN AC AND COOLANT. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 HONDA CIVIC, AND THE DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR HINGE IS DEFECTIVE. IT BROKE, AND THE VISOR IS NO LONGER ADJUSTABLE -- IT JUST HANGS STRAIGHT DOWN. JUDGING FROM THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINS BEING REGISTERED ELSEWHERE ONLINE, THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM. IT IS ALSO A SAFETY CONCERN, AS I AM NOW BLINDED BY THE SUN OR HAVE THE VISOR BLOCKING MY FIELD OF VISION. I WILL CONTACT HONDA TO REQUEST A FREE REPLACEMENT, BUT AS MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY, I WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO BUY A NEW ONE. *TR
MY 2007 HONDA CIVIC WEAR OUT REAR TIRES EXTREMELY FAST, CAUSING LOUD VIBRATIONS AND SAFETY CONCERNS. *TR
REAR CONTROL ARMS DEFECTIVE CAUSING FLAT SPOTS IN REAR TIRES. PROBLEM REPORTED TO DEALER AT 35,XXX MILES. CONTROL ARMS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. TIRES WERE NOT COVERED DUE TO MILEAGE EVEN THOUGH PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY DEFECTIVE COMPONENTS. *TR
I BOUGHT A NEW 2007 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID FROM A CERTIFIED HONDA DEALERSHIP. THE DESIGN FLAW OF THE REAR TIRE ARMS OF THE VEHICLE CAUSED THE TIRE ARM TO RUB ON THE TIRES OF THE CAR UNTIL THE TIRES WERE NEARLY BALD CAUSING THE CAR TO SHUTTER AND THE STRUCTURE OF THE TIRES TO WEAKEN ENDANGERING ME AND MY PASSENGERS. WHEN I TOOK THE CAR TO HONDA, I WAS FORCED TO REPLACE THE TIRES PREMATURELY 2 TIMES SINCE OWNING THE CAR DUE TO THE IRREGULAR WEAR ON THE TIRES. HONDA DID NOT NOTIFY ME OF THE PROBLEM, REFUSED TO PAY FOR NEW TIRES BUT FINALLY ADMITTED AFTER THE SECOND PAIR OF TIRES WERE RUBBED BALD, THAT THE TIRE ARM OF THE CAR WAS CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE TIRES. THEY REPAIRED THE TIRE ARM, BUT WOULD NOT PAY FOR NEW TIRES. THE TRANSMISSION OF THE CAR IS ALSO FLAWED IN DESIGN. OCCASIONALLY WHEN ACCELERATING, THE GAS PEDAL OF THE CAR CAN BE PUSHED TO THE FLOOR AND THE CAR WILL NOT CONTINUE TO ACCELERATE AND WILL LOOSE POWER. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT STOP LIGHTS, ENTERING THE FREEWAY, AND GOING UP HILLS ENDANGERING MY LIFE AND THE LIVES OF MY PASSENGERS. HONDA AGAIN, DID NOT NOTIFY ME OF THE PROBLEM, BUT TOLD ME WHEN I BROUGHT THE CAR IN AFTER EXPERIENCING THE PROBLEMS THAT I NEEDED AN UPGRADE TO MY COMPUTER AND THAT THOSE UPGRADES MAY FIX THE PROBLEM. THOSE UPDATES TO THE COMPUTERS EFFECT THE BATTERY OF THE HYBRID PART OF THE CAR'S ENGINE. THOSE BATTERIES ARE LOOSING THE ABILITY TO HOLD A CHARGE AND CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION TO FAIL BECAUSE THE CAR RELIES ON THAT BATTERY POWER TO RUN THE ENGINE. THE GAS MILEAGE OF THE CAR HAS ALSO BEEN STEADILY DECLINING. WHEN THE CAR WAS NEW, IT GOT 45 MPG AND HONDA ADVERTISED IT GET 50 MPG, THE CAR NOW GETS AROUND 33 MPG. THE COMPUTER UPDATES ARE CHANGING THE WAY THE CAR RUNS OFF OF GAS AND BATTERY POWER AND HONDA IS NOT REPLACING THE FAULTY BATTERIES. THIS HAS ENDANGERED MY LIFE AND THE LIVES OF MY PASSENGERS BECAUSE THE FAULTY BATTERIES EFFECT HOW THE CAR OPERATES. *TR
HONDA CIVIC HYBRID HAS TIRE WEAR ON INNER PART OF BACK TIRES. AT 21,000 MILES DEALER SAYS THE BACK TIRES NEED TO BE REPLACED, THEY SAY IT MAY BE A BALANCE PROBLEM. I RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM AND SAFETY BULLETIN INDICATES THE REAR CONTROL ARM IS DEFECTIVE, BUT CAR HASN'T BEEN RECALLED. THE CONTROL ARM NEEDS REPLACEMENT, BUT THEY WILL ONLY GIVE A % OF REPLACEMENT FOR BACK TIRES. IT SOUNDS LIKE IF THE PROBLEM IS NOT FIXED THERE WILL CONTINUE TO BE UNSUAL TIRE WEAR, WHICH POSES A SAFETY RISK TO DRIVERS. AM CONTACTING DEALER TOMORROW ABOUT PROBLEM. *TR
HONDA CIVIC - 2007 HYBRID - NEEDS NEW "CONTROL ARMS" AS THE TIRES ARE UNSAFE TO DRIVE - APPARENTLY THIS IS HAPPENING A LOT, I'M SURPRISED THERE IS NOT A RECALL YET. I'VE GOT 70K MILES AND FINISHING MY 2ND SET OF REAR TIRES ALREADY - THEY REFUSE TO CORRECT AT NO COST, EVEN THOUGH THEY'VE EVEN PUT OUT A "SERVICE BULLETIN". *TR
OUT OF THE BLUE MY DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR CRACKED AND I AM UNABLE TO KEEP IT IN THE "UP" POSITION. IT CONTINUES TO FALL DOWN IN MY FIELD OF VISION AND IT IS VERY DISTRACTING WHILE I DRIVE. *TR
I ALSO SAW THERE IS A TSB RECALL (HONDA TSB 08-001) ON THE 2007 CIVIC BUT NOT ON THE SI ON REPLACING THE REAR ARMS. MY 2007 CIVIC SI HAS THE SAME VISIBLE TIRE WEAR AND TREAD CUPPING WHICH WOULD BE FIXED BY THE RECALL BUT MY CAR IS NOT INCLUDED. THE FIX IS A SIMPLE REPLACEMENT OF THE REAR CHAMBER ARMS. I BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW AND HAD IT IN ON A RECALL FOR THE 3RD GEAR. I'D LIKE THAT SAME TREATMENT AND TO BE INCLUDED ON THE RECALL TO CHANGE MY REAR CHAMBER ARMS. HONDA CIVIC 2006-2007 HAVE A DEFECT OF THE REAR STABILIZER BAR. THIS CAUSES THE TIRES TO WEAR UNEVENLY. IT IS NOT VI SABLE UNLESS YOU ARE UNDER THE CAR. THE TIRE WEAR CAUSES THESE CARS TO BECOME UNSAFE. WHEN I DISCOVERED THIS ON A WEB-SITE I TOOK MY CAR BACK TO THE DEALER AND ASKED THEM TO REPAIR THIS DEFECT. I WAS REFUSED AND AT THAT TIME CALLED AMERICAN HONDA. THIS WAS NOTED AND REFERRED TO THEIR REVIEW BOARD. NO RESPONSE HAS BEEN RECEIVED FROM HONDA ALTHOUGH THEY ARE AWARE OF THE DANGEROUS NATURE OF THIS PROBLEM. THEY WERE INFORMED OF MY CONCERN REGARDING MY SAFETY AND THOSE ON THE ROAD WITH ME. I HAD THE SOFTWARE UPDATED IN MY 07 CIVIC HYBRID IN AUGUST 2010. SINCE THE UPDATE THE CAR HAS NO ELECTRIC ASSIST WHEN THE BATTERY IS HALF FULL OR LESS. I AM CURRENTLY STATIONED IN THE US AIR FORCE HERE IN GERMANY. WHILE TRAVELING DURING A HEAVY RAIN STORM HERE IN GERMANY, OUR 2007 HONDA CIVIC HYDROPLANED AND SLID OFF THE ROAD. IT ROLLED SIDEWAYS AT LEAST TWICE AND IMPACTED A MILE MARKER SIGN ON THE DRIVER SIDE MIRROR AND LANDED UPRIGHT AFTER HITTING ITS ROOF TWICE. SUN VISOR ON 2007 HONDA CIVIC FAILS AGAIN IN THE HEAT. HAVE PURCHASED REPLACEMENT VISOR JUST TO HAVE THEM FAIL AGAIN IN A FEW MONTHS. ON AUGUST 18, 2010 MY 2007 HONDA CIVIC CAUGHT FIRE IN MY DRIVEWAY. AT ABOUT 10:30PM I LOOKED OUT MY BEDROOM WINDOW TO SEE IF I PUT THE DRIVER'S WINDOW UP AND DISCOVERED THAT MY CAR WAS ON FIRE. FLAMES WHERE COMING FROM THE RIGHT FRONT FENDER/PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR AREA. WHEN I GOT CLOSER TO THE CAR I COULD SEE A CLEAR-YELLOW-ISH FLAME THAT WAS BURNING A WHOLE IN THE FENDER FROM THE INSIDE OUT. I HAD CALLED 911, BUT I WAS NERVOUS ABOUT THE CAR BEING SO CLOSE TO THE HOUSE AND I PUT OUT THE FIRE MYSELF. THE DAMAGE WAS RELATIVELY MINOR AND THE CAR WAS REPAIRED. MY 2007 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID IS EXPERIENCING AN ISSUE WHERE THE HYBRID BATTERY LOSES CHARGE OVERNIGHT, CAUSING THE CAR TO ACCELERATE UNPREDICTABLY WHILE DRIVING. IN SOME CASES, THE DISPLAY SHOWS THAT THE HYBRID BATTERY HAS ENOUGH CHARGE TO ASSIST IN ACCELERATION, BUT THE CAR REACTS EXTREMELY SLOW WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. YESTERDAY WHEN SHIFTING FROM A LANE OF STOPPED TRAFFIC TO A LANE OF MOVING TRAFFIC, THE CAR ATTEMPTED TO USE BATTERY TO ASSIST IN ACCELERATION, BUT WAS UNABLE TO DO SO BECAUSE THE BATTERY WAS DEAD. WHEN I ENTERED THE LANE, THE NEXT CAR BEHIND ME WAS 30-40 YARDS BACK, BUT I DID NOT HAVE SUFFICIENT ACCELERATION TO MATCH THE SPEED IN A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME. THANKFULLY THE DRIVER BEHIND ME WAS PAYING ATTENTION AND ABLE TO SLOW DOWN TO AVOID A COLLISION. I WAS ON A 700 MILE TRIP TO VISIT MY FAMILY MEMBER. IN THE MIDWAY THE A/C CONDENSER GOT DAMAGED AND A/C STOPPED WORKING THAT LEAD TO SUFFOCATION DUE TO HOT AND HUMID ENVIRONMENT. I HAD TO DRIVE THE CAR FOR 7 HOURS IN 110 F TEMPERATURE WITH OPEN WINDOWS ON HIGHWAY. I DEHYDRATED AND FELL SICK AND VOMITED COUPLE OF TIMES. THERE IS NO SAFETY FOR CONDENSER TO PROTECT IT TO GET HIT FROM PEBBLES ON THE ROAD. IT IS A VERY COMMON SAFETY PROBLEM AND HONDA IS NOT FIXING IT. I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM AMERICAN HONDA CORP. STATING THAT I NEEDED TO GET A SOFTWARE UPDATE ON MY 2007 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID IMA BATTERY. I TOOK THE CAR TO MY LOCAL DEALER AND SINCE THE UPDATE HAS BEEN INSTALLED THE CAR IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE WHEN ENTERING THE FREEWAY. THE FAILURE TO ACCELERATE HAPPENS EVERYTIME I ENTER THE FREEWAY. THE CONSEQUENCES OF THIS FAILURE IS THAT CARS BEHIND COME UP ON ME VERY FAST AND I HAVE NO POWER TO GET IN THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC. IT HAS LITTLE ACCELERATION TO MATCH TRAFFIC FLOW.
