I AM HAVING PREMATURE TIRE WEAR DUE TO A FAULTY REAR CONTROL ARM. PLEASE HELP! MY CAR HYDROPLANES AND THE VIBRATION ON THE STEERING WHEEL IS HORRIBLE ON THE HIGHWAY. *TR
THE PAINT IS CHIPPING AND PEELING ALL OVER THE HOOD AND SIDES OF THE FRONT OF THE CAR. IT IS VERY UGLY!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA CIVIC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CURTAIN AIR BAG CIRCUIT WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
WHILE DRIVING IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA AT APPROX 20-25 MPH, THERE WAS A LOUD BUMP AS IF A ROCK HAD HIT THE UNDERSIDE OF THE CAR; SHORTLY THE STEERING WAS OFF KILTER -- TO GO STRAIGHT HAD TO KEEP THE STEERING WHEEL TURNED 30 DEGREES RIGHT; LOUD RUBBING SOUND; PULLED INTO A DRIVEWAY AND THEN COULD NOT BACK UP -- FOUND THAT RIGHT FRONT TIRE WAS BENT IN, SO THAT TOP OF TIRE ABUTTED THE WHEEL WELL. CAR TOWED TO DEALER -- FOUND STRUT BOLTS ON RIGHT FRONT TIRE WERE LOOSE. CAR HAD BEEN SERVICED ONE WEEK PRIOR: REPLACED FAILED STARTER AND PERFORMED OIL CHANGE AND B SERVICE WITH INSPECTION OF BRAKES AND TIRE ROTATION. *JS
THE PASSENGER-SIDE MOTOR MOUNT HAS COLLAPSED PREMATURELY, CAUSING THE ENGINE VIBRATION TO BE TRANSFERRED TO THE FRAME OF THE CAR. THIS IS A FAIRLY COMMON PROBLEM WITH HONDA CIVIC OWNERS.
4/10/14 PICKED UP MY CAR FROM A BODY SHOP REFERRED BY VICTORY HONDA DROVE A COUPLE OF BLOCKS TURNED LEFT 3 TO 4 SECONDS AFTER THE TURN MY DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG AND THE AIRBAG IN THE SIDE OF MY SEAT DEPLOYED AT THE SAME TIME WITHOUT COLLISION AT THE SAME TIME. CAUSING A CONTINUAL RINGING IN MY EAR. TOOK CAR BACK TO BODY SHOP THEY TOOK MY CAR BACK TO VICTORY HONDA AND TOLD THEM I HIT A CURB. VICTORY HONDA, HONDA OF AMERICA, AND THE INSURANCE COMPANY FOR THE BODY SHOP ARE ALL STICKING TO THAT STORY. I JUST HAD TO REPLACE THE TIRES FOR THE SECOND TIME ON THIS CAR. THE CAR IS EXPIRING UNEVEN TIRE WEAR. THIS DOES EFFECT BRAKING OF THE CAR AS WELL. HONDA HAS ADMITTED THAT THE REAR CONTROL ARM IS TO SHORT EFFECTING SUSPENSION AND TIRE WEAR. THIS IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE THE VISIBLE PART OF MY TIRE LOOKED FINE, PLENTY OF TREAD AND ABOUT 38000 ON A 90000 MILE TIRE. THE INSIDE OF THE TIRE WAS SO WORN IT ACTUALLY HAD A HOLE WORN IN IT. THIS WEAR ISSUE COULD CAUSE A TIRE TO FAIL WHILE TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. PLEASE HELP THE OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES GET A RECALL FROM HONDA BEFORE SOMEONE IS HURT. *TR
HAD A MAJOR ACCIDENT IN 2014 ON INTERSTATE 85 GOING THROUGH CHARLOTTE, NC. GOT STRUCK AT HIGH SPEED FROM BEHIND AND FRONT END STRUCK THE MEDIAN. THE FRONT OF THE CAR WAS DESTROYED. MY AIRBAG DID NOT INFLATE CAUSING MY RIBS TO BE BROKEN.
THE PAINT OF THE CAR IS PEELING OFF. FROM EVERYWHERE. THIS CAR IS BEING PARKED IN OUR DRIVEWAY FOR LAST 4 YS. BEFORE THAT IT WAS PARKED IN GARAGE ATTACHED TO THE HOUSE. ON THE TOP IT LOOKS LIKE IT HAS SOME CHEMICAL REACTION. ON THE BUMPER , HOOD AND OTHER PLACES IT LOOKS LIKE THE COLOR IS PEELING AND IT SHOWS A WHITE SPOT. THIS CAR IS USED OT DRIVE ONLY FROM HOME TO WORK AND BARELY LONG DISTANCE.
WIPERS DO NOT PARK WHEN TURNED OFF AFTER USE IN THE APPROPRIATE SPOT. THEY CONTINUE TO RUN FOR SEVERAL MORE CYCLES UNTIL THEY PARK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHILD. THIS CAUSES A VIEW OBSTRUCTION WHILE DRIVING AND ULTIMATELY DISTRACTS THE DRIVER. THE WIPERS HAVE TO BE TUNRED ON AND OFF NUMEROUS TIMES SO THAT THE WIPERS END UP IN THE CORRECT POSITION AT THE BOTTOM OF THE WINDSHIELD. ALSO THE CONTINUOUS RUNNING OF THE WIPERS WHEN THE WINDOW IS DRY RESULTS IN FREQUENT REPLACEMENT OF THE WIPER BLADES IN ORDER TO PREVENT SCRATCHING ON THE WINDSHIELD BY THE WORN OUT RUBBER INSERT. I BELIEVE THIS IS CAUSED BY THE WIPER MOTOR MALFUNCTIONING.
EARLY 2014 WE APPROACHED HONDA OF COLUMBIA, THE PURCHASE POINT OF THIS CAR, ABOUT THE FACTORY PAINT FLAKING AND COMING OFF. HONDA SAYS WE HAVE TO HAVE THE CAR REPAINTED AND SHOW THEM THE RECEIPT BEFORE THEY WILL HELP OFFER FINANCIAL HELP. THAT COSTS US $4000+ OUT OF OUR POCKET AND THEN THEY MAY SUBSIDIZE THE COST. THIS CAR MISSES THE ORIGINAL RECALL FOR DEFECTIVE PAINTING BY A COUPLE OF WEEKS. HER CAR HAS BEEN WELL KEPT BUT NOT GARAGED. INDEPENDENT PAINT SHOPS CONFIRM THAT IT IS A FAULT W/ THE ORIGINAL PAINTING PROCESS. NEARLY THE WHOLE TOP/FLAT SURFACES OF THE CAR ARE IN QUESTION: SPOILER, ROOF, TRUNK, HOOD, FENDERS AND ALL OTHER HORIZONTAL SURFACES ARE AFFECTED. THE VERTICAL PORTIONS ARE IN ACCEPTABLE SHAPE. THE LOCAL DEALER HONDA OF COLUMBIA, S.C. SAYS THIS CAR DOESN'T FALL INTO THE FACTORY RECALL CRITERIA BECAUSE IT IS AN '07 AND THEY ONLY QUALIFIED UP TO '06. ONE OF THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT REPS ASSURED US THEY IT SHOULD BE ON THE RECALL LIST AND THAT EVEN THE COLOR WAS ONE LISTED ALONG W/ THE OTHER CAR COLORS. NOT HONDA OF COLUMBIA DENIES THAT THE CAR HAS TO BE REPAINTED BEFORE THEY WILL HELP PAY, BUT NOW ONLY OFFER $1000 TO SUBSIDIZE THE COST AND STILL WONT TELL ME HOW TO MAKE A CLAIM. THEY SUGGESTED I CALL HONDA OF AMERICA SERVICE FOLKS AND TALK TO THEM THEY HAVE YET TO ANSWER A CALL. THERE IS NO ANSWER OF ANY KIND SO I AM UNABLE TO LEAVE A MESSAGE. WHAT SHOULD I DO... *TR
WHEN DRIVING AND MAKING LEFT OR RIGHT TURNS OR U TURNS, THERE IS A KNOCKING SOUND COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE CAR. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE I HAVE OWNED THE CAR(27000 MILES). THE DEALER VISUALLY INSPECTED THE FRONT END BUT DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING. THE KNOCKING CAN BE FELT THROUGH THE STEERING AND IT FEELS LIKE SOMETHING IS GOING TO BREAK. THE CAR HAS 51000 MILES AND THE PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 107,000.
AIR BAG AND SIDE AIR BAG SYMBOL WARNING WAS COMING ON AND OFF FOR ATLEAST A YEAR & NOW STAYS ON ALL THE TIME
2007 HONDA CIVIC. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO MOTOR MOUNTS UPPERS AND LOWERS CRACKED AND REPLACED TWICE IN TWO WEEKS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE DRIVING, SHE HEARD A RUMBLING NOISE AND THE STEERING WHEEL AND DASH STARTED SHAKING. AT THE TIME, SHE DIDN'T KNOW THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR TIRE HAD BLOWN OUT, UNTIL SHE ARRIVED AT THE REPAIR SHOP.
WHILE GETTING MY CAR SERVICED FOR NEW TIRES, I MENTIONED TO THE MECHANIC ABOUT THE ROUGH VIBRATION THE CAR HAS. PER MECHANIC, MOTOR MOUNT WAS WORN, MECHANIC ALSO STATED THAT NEARLY EVERY 2007 HONDA CIVIC THEY SERVICE HAS MOTOR MOUNT ISSUES. REQUESTED MECHANIC TO STATE THAT ON BILL. CALLED HONDA, THEY WERE LITTLE TO NO ASSISTANCE OTHER THAN FOR ME TO CONTACT LOCAL DEALER. IF THIS IS A COMMONLY OCCURRING PROBLEM, SHOULDN'T HONDA ADDRESS IT? I REQUIRE A CAR TO GO TO AND FROM WORK DAILY, THE EXPLANATION BY HONDA WILL NOT SUFFICE. *TR
CAR ENGINE WAS RUNNING "ROUGH" UPON START FOR 2 DAYS; WORKED OUT AFTER DRIVING 1-2 MILES. DROVE 15 MILES AND STOPPED TO FILL UP WITH GAS. LESS THAN 1/4 MILE AFTER FILL UP,ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. HAD CAR TOWED TO MECHANIC WHO HAD PERFORMED LAST OIL CHANGE AND MAJOR SERVICE (A MONTH OR SO PREVIOUSLY). MECHANIC IDENTIFIED PROBLEM WITH #4 CYLINDER. MECHANIC SWAPPED SPARK PLUG IN #4 CYLINDER WITH SPARK PLUG IN #2 CYLINDER. LESS THAN A WEEK LATER ENGINE LIGHT ON AGAIN. PROBLEM AGAIN WITH #4 CYLINDER. REPLACED ALL SPARK PLUGS AND ENGINE AIR FILTER. ONE WEEK LATER, HEATER STOPPED WORKING. NEXT DAY, RADIATOR (COOLANT) GAUGE ON DASH MOVED UP PAST MID-POINT AND HITS 3/4 POINT. I STOPPED DRIVING AND HAD A FRIEND BRING COOLANT WHICH WAS 1 GAL LOW! (NOTE: MECHANIC CHECKED AND FOUND COOLANT LEVEL FULL WHEN CAR WAS IN FOR ENGINE LIGHT PROBLEM LESS THAN A 10 DAYS PREVIOUSLY. I DRIVE LESS THAN 15 MILES PER DAY...ALL LOW SPEED. I PARK OFF STREET AND HAVE CAR IN ONE SPOT FOR 9 HOURS DURING WORK AND NEVER SAW ANY FLUID ON PARKING SPOT.) ADDED COOLANT. 1 WEEK LATER (COOLANT) GAUGE ON DASH MOVED UP PAST MID-POINT AND HIT 3/4 POINT (AFTER DRIVING 5 MILES AT 45 M.P.H. OR LESS). STOPPED DRIVING. CHECKED COOLANT LEVEL WHICH WAS FINE (FULL). THAT NIGHT GOT LETTER IN MAIL FROM HONDA SAYING THAT 2006 - 2009 CIVICS MAY HAVE CRACKED ENGINE BLOCKS. ALL "SYMPTOMS" DESCRIBED IN HONDA LETTER MATCHED WHAT I HAD BEEN EXPERIENCING (UNEXPLAINED/UNDETECTED COOLANT LOSS, OVERHEATING, ENGINE PROBLEM AS EVIDENCED BY DASH INDICATOR). BROUGHT CAR TO HONDA DEALER. THEY SAID NO PROBLEM WITH ENGINE BLOCK. I ASKED THEM TO CHECK RADIATOR THERMOSTAT. THEY SAID NO PROBLEM. THEY COULD NOT EXPLAIN WHY I LOST COOLANT. I AM IN PROCESS OF GETTING SECOND OPINION BECAUSE I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT HONDA IS COMMITTED TO FIXING THE PROBLEM (WHICH OBVIOUSLY IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT). *TR
I WAS ADVISED BY HONDA NORTH IN CLOVIS, CA, TO REPLACE THE OPDS SENSOR AND THE OPDS CONTROL UNIT WHICH SHOULD HAVE REMOVED THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT. IT DID NOT! I SPENT $697.87 FOR THIS REPAIR AT VISALIA HONDA ONLY TO BE TOLD THEY COULD NOT RESET THE AIR BAGS. I WAS THEN TOLD THE SRS CONTROL UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED IN ORDER TO RESET THE AIR BAGS. THE QUOTED COST TO REPLACE THE SRS CONTROL UNIT WAS $450.00. ALSO, I WAS TOLD BY VISALIA HONDA'S SERVICE MANAGER, [XXX], THAT THEY HAD NO WAY OF DETERMINING WHY THE WARNING LIGHT WAS COMING SO REPAIRS WERE BEING MADE IN SOME KIND OF PECKING ORDER. THE SRS CONTROL UNIT WAS REPLACED WITH AMERICAN HONDA PROVIDING THE PART WHILE I PAID $221.54 FOR THE LABOR. THE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN IN AUGUST 2014 AT WHICH TIME I WAS TOLD BY VISALIA HONDA THAT THE CABLE REEL HAD INTERMITTENT FAILURE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $413.00. THE CABLE REEL HAS NOT BEEN REPLACED. I HAVE NOTICED MANY OTHERS HAVING THE SAME SAFETY ISSUES WITH THEIR 2007 CIVIC BUT YET AMERICAN HONDA REFUSES TO RECALL THE VEHICLES. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 176,000.
HONDA CIVIC LX 2 DOOR COUPE. MY WIFE AND I WERE DRIVING ON QUIET RESIDENTIAL STREET LOOKING AT HOMES. GOING SLOW - ESTIMATE10-12 MPH - WE HAD JUST BEEN AT A COMPLETE STOP LOOKING AT A HOUSE. FOOT WAS ON BRAKE - GOING DOWN SLIGHT HILL. APPROACHED TWO METAL SEWER COVERS IN MIDDLE OF ROAD - ONE IN FRONT OF THE OTHER. MIDDLE OF CAR WENT OVER FIRST COVER AND I PRESSED BRAKE HARDER BECAUSE ROAD WAS MORE UNEVEN THEN APPEARED AND CAR SITS ALITTLE LOW TO GROUND. WAS ABOUT TO GO OVER SECOND COVER AND PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED WITH A LOAD EXPLOSION. WHEN I OPENED MY EYES, I SAW SMOKE AND THOUGHT CAR WAS ON FIRE. WIFE WAS HOLDING RIGHT ARM, SAID IT WAS BROKEN (IT WASN'T). IT TOOK A WHILE TO REALIZE WHAT HAPPENED. I INSPECTED BOTTOM OF CAR AND ENGINE COMPARTMENT. I SAW NO DAMAGE AND STARTED THE CAR - NOT SURE IF I SHUT IT OFF OR HAPPENED AUTOMATICALLY. DRIVER SEAT BELT WAS LOCKED IN POSITION. PASSENGER SEAT BELT WORKED. CAR RAN AND OPERATED NORMALLY. AIRBAGS CAUSED A LOT OF INTERIOR DAMAGE. I TOOK PICTURES OF ROAD AND SEWER COVERS FROM DIFFERENT ANGLES. WHILE THE CAR WAS BETWEEN THE TWO SEWER COVERS, I FELT A VIBRATION COME UP THE STEERING WHEEL. WIFE FELT AND HEARD NOTHING. I SUSPECT BOTTOM OF CAR HIT EDGE OF SECOND COVER BECAUSE IT'S SLIGHTLY ELEVATED. ALTHOUGH THERE WERE NO MARKS ON ASPHALT PAVEMENT OR METAL COVER. MY QUESTIONS ARE: * WHY DID AIRBAGS DEPLOY? WHY DID THEY DEPLOY AT THIS SPEED? WHY ONLY THE PASSENGER AIRBAGS? WHY DID SEAT BELTS LOCK ON DRIVER SIDE AND NOT PASSENGER SIDE? I'VE CALLED HONDA DEALERSHIP TWICE. NO REPLIES. INSURANCE INSPECTED. CAR IS IN HONDA SHOP FOR REPAIRS. I ASKED SHOP TO PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION ON THE COMPUTER AT TIME OF DEPLOYMENT. *TR
ON NOVEMBER 4, 2013, I WAS DRIVING THRU AT A MCDONALD'S WHEN MY ENGINE STEAMED OVER, SPILLING ANTIFREEZE. I TOWED IT TO MY BROTHER'S HOUSE AS I WAS AT LEAST 100 MILES FROM HOME. HE APPLIED A COOLANT PRESSURE TESTER TO THE RADIATOR AND FOUND A LEAK COMING FROM THE ENGINE BLOCK. I HAD THE ENGINE REPLACED BY HIM. I FILED A CLAIM WITH HONDA UNDER THE RECALL TO GET MY MONEY BACK. HONDA REFUSED TO PAY THE CLAIM, EVEN THOUGH RECALL 10-048 FROM HONDA OFFERS TO REPAY CUSTOMERS FOR THEIR EXPENSE BY WARRANTY UP TO 8 YEARS AND UNLIMITED MILEAGE. AT THE TIME THE CAR WAS 7 YEARS, 1 MONTH OLD. I CLAIMED THIS TO HONDA IN AUGUST 2015, WAS DENIED IN SEPTEMBER, 2015, REASON GIVEN WAS THAT MY BROTHER IS NOT QUALIFIED AS A PROFESSIONAL MECHANIC TO DIAGNOSE, BUT A COOLANT LEAK IS EASY TO FIND WITH A PRESSURE TESTER AND MY BROTHER HAS WORKED ON ENGINES FOR YEARS. I AM OUT $1700 FROM THIS REPAIR.
WHEN PRESSING FOR THE WIPERS TO RUN ONCE, IT RUNS MULTIPLE TIMES, AND OTHER TIMES, THEY STOP WHEN ON THE INTERMITTENT, LOW, OR HIGH SETTINGS. ALSO WHEN TURNING OFF OR WHEN THEY RANDOMLY STOP THEY DO NOT STOP AT THE CORRECT POSITION ON THE WINDOW. *TR
I BOUGHT THIS CAR 08/31/13 AND BEGAN HEARING A NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR WHEELS AND NOW I'M SURPRISED TO KNOW THAT THERE WAS A RECALL REGARDING THE WHEEL BEARINGS. I THINK MY CAR WASN'T PROPERLY FIXED. PLEASE HELP. *TR
CAR HIT CURB WHEN CUTTING A TURN TOO TIGHT AND AIR BAG DEPLOYED. *TR
BROUGHT VEHICLE IN TO DEALERSHIP DUE TO LEAKING (GREEN AND BROWN FLUIDS). WAS TOLD THAT ENGINE BLOCK WAS CRACKED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, ALONG WITH THE RADIATOR. WAS TOLD THAT TIRES WERE SHOWING WEAR THAT SHOULD PROBABLY BE REPLACED SOON AND WAS TOLD THIS WAS POSSIBLY DUE TO THE CONTROL ARM ISSUE IN 2007 HONDA CARS CAUSING UNEVEN WEAR ON TIRES. TIRE STORE (ALSO REPAIR SHOP) WAS UNABLE TO PERFORM ALIGNMENT BECAUSE OF PROBLEM WITH BENT CAMBER ARMS. I PAID APPROX $700 TO REPLACE. OPENED OUR TRUNK RECENTLY AND WATER POURED INTO THE TRUNK FROM THE TRUNK DOOR WHEN WE LIFTED IT. KEEPS HAPPENING EVERY TIME AFTER A RAINY DAY (WHICH IS ALOT IN FLORIDA). NOW OUR TRUNK IS SMELLY, MOLDY AND DAMP. WE CANNOT PUT OUR GROCERIES, PURSE, SUITCASES, ETC INTO THE TRUNK OR ELSE THEY WILL GET WET. SINCE OWNING THE CAR I HAVE RECEIVED NOTICES FROM HONDA ABOUT ENGINE LEAKAGE PROBLEM AND THAT ENGINE IS COVERED FOR 10YEARS, ALSO REAR CONTROL ARMS, AND I JUST RECEIVED IN MAIL A CLASS ACTION LAW SUITE ABOUT PREMATURE BREAK WARE. AT AROUND 70000 I HAD TO REPLACE MOTOR MOUNTS THAT WAS COVERED BY MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. I ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THE REAR DRUM BRAKES AT 90000. I HAVE ALWAYS DRIVEN A MANUAL TRANSMISSION CAR I HAVE NEVER HAD TO REPLACE A CLUTCH EVERY AND KEEP MOST CARS FOR OVER 150000 MI. AND DRUM BRAKES SHOULD NEVER HAVE GONE AT 90000. DURING A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE 'EQUIPMENT INSPECTION' WAS INFORMED THE THIRD BRAKE LIGHT WAS 'BURNED OUT'. AS THIS IS A MULTI-LIGHT LED, THE PROBABILITY OF THE ALL THE LED TO HAVE FAILED WAS SUSPICIOUS. DEALER REP WAS VERY SURE ENTIRE UNIT REQUIRED REPLACEMENT AND QUOTED A PRICE OF NEARLY $200 FOR REPAIR OF A PIECE OF SAFETY EQUIPMENT. DEFERRED REPAIR TO FURTHER INVESTIGATE. WEB SEARCH SHOWS THIS IS A EXTREMELY COMMON OCCURRENCE ON 2007 AND LATER CIVICS. PROBLEM IS NOT THE LED BUT THE SOLDER JOINTS ON THE ASSEMBLY WHICH FAIL FREQUENTLY. AS THIS IS A DESIGN DEFICIENCY IN A PIECE OF SAFETY EQUIPMENT, ONE WOULD EXPECT A RECALL TO CORRECT. APPARENTLY AS THE PROBLEM REQUIRES 'IMMEDIATE' REPAIR IN MOST STATES WITH ANNUAL SAFETY INSPECTIONS, IT HAS NOT GARNERED SUFFICIENT TRACTION WITH NHTSA TO WARRANT ACTION. SRS LIGHT COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY AND USUALLY WHEN DRIVING OVER UNEVEN TERRAIN. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY RESET THE LIGHT FOR ERROR CODE 33-10 (RELATED TO AIRBAG INFLATOR). I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD NEED TO REPLACE THE DRIVER SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAG IF THE LIGHT COMES ON AGAIN. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE WHEN THE LIGHT IS ON, THE AIR BAG SYSTEM IS DISABLED. IN THE EVENT I GET INTO AN ACCIDENT, I WILL NOT BE PROTECTED. MY CAR HAS NEVER BEEN TO AN ACCIDENT AND MY AIRBAGS HAVE NEVER DEPLOYED AND I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW. THE WIRING HARNESS HAS TO BE REPLACED AND THE PASSENGER SIDE WEIGHT SENSOR, WHICH IS CLOSE TO A $2000 REPAIR. WHEN I ASKED HONDA CORPORATE (CUSTOMER SERVICE [XXX] AT 800-999-1009) I WAS ARROGANTLY TOLD THEY DO NOT CARE BECAUSE THE CAR IS OUTSIDE OF WARRANTY.
