The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked in a parking lot, the engine was powered off with the key in the ignition, and the front driver-side air bag and front driver-side air bag curtain had independently deployed. No warning lights illuminated, and there was no impact. In addition, the contact stated that her mother was sitting in the passenger seat, and the failure occurred while rolling up the front passenger-side window. The contact's mother sustained minor injuries to her left ear; however, did not seek medical attention. The local dealer was contacted; however, the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

On August 9 while grandson was in route on I20 toward Birmingham, Al. to attend grandparent funeral, driver air bag exploded. He struggled to take a close next exit. He pulled car to side of road and ran away from car. He said it was full of smoke and small pieces. He feared the car was going to catch fire. His phone was dead and there was nothing off the exit so after smoke cleared and he felt safer, he drove car to my home and parked under carport. I called Sunny King Honda on Monday and they said that I had to contact American Honda. I was told they would send someone to inspect, but after many times calling, they said insurance needed to inspect. On October 1, Insurance looked at car and did car fax and found no reason for air bag to explode. They had already given me case number but finally a case manager, named Ilene, answered and said to take to dealership on October 24 for inspection and test. I spoke with guy at dealership and he said because car does not need to be driven, I could leave there and they would lock up. I have called again many times trying to find out when car will be fixed and she is not returning my calls. It has been 3 more weeks since dropping off at dealership. It is going on 4 months without car. This could have been a death complaint instead of needing repair. He was fortunate that his left arm was really red and no other harm. There was not a recall on his vin but common sense is air bag is for safety when hitting something to protect individual. Looking on line, there are other complaints with 2011 Civic. The car has been a great car but I am concerned about safety. I hoped American Honda would just repair car and make safe, but at this point, I am questioning.
Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2011 Honda Civic. The contact stated that upon obtaining the vehicle history report, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle's mileage was 89,000, and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 161,158. The contact stated that there was a white substance throughout the vehicle, which was determined to be mold.
The contact owned a 2011 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while attempting to park in a parking lot, he was blinded by the sun and collided with the circular concrete base of a parking lot light on private property. The contact mentioned that the engine was revving high. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact was rendered unconscious by the impact. The contact sustained a cracked sternum, rib, right shoulder, back, and hip injuries, and also aggravated a prior spine injury. The contact stated that he observed coolant leaking from the radiator on the ground under the vehicle. Medical attention was required for these injuries. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where the vehicle was diagnosed that the radiator was destroyed and the vehicle was deemed totaled. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 156,000.
Airbag sensor light for front passenger seat has recently lit up and won’t turn off. Honda dealer said my daughter needs to replace the passenger seat weight sensor which means replacing the whole seat at $3000+ cost. Please check, thank you.
Each time I applied brakes I would hear a scraping sound in sync with a point or span of tire rotation. Then as I was attempting to stop at a red light the brakes failed. The nearest place was OR automotive and they rebuilt rear braking system yet I could hear the same scraping sound. So I carried the car to Honda dealership. They adjusted brakes $237.00 and replaced $341.00 the two rear drums. The sound remains and is magnified. They are claiming it is because e brake cables stretch. Somehow the stretching can cause entire rear brake on that side to catastrophically fail.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2011 Honda Civic. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V661000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
The contact owns a 2011 Honda Civic. The contact stated that the rear passenger's side seat belt failed to buckle when the passenger was attempting to insert the seat belt. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
-Two back seat belts have malfunctioned. The back driver side seat buckle has unattached from the car. The middle back seat belt came unattached from the car. It is available for inspection but have an appointment to get fixed tomorrow. -Mine and my family's safety was put at an INCREASED risk for danger. Two seat belts have malfunctioned in the back seat just from normal wear. My infant daughter rides in the back seat and I trust that the seat belts would function correctly for normal use! -I am not sure. I have an appointment with Honda dealership tomorrow. -It has not currently been inspected. -No symptoms prior and no reasonable explanation for this to happen.

THE TRUNK LID HASN'T BEEN RIGHT ALL ALONG. I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW MANY TIMES IT HAS COME DOWN AND HIT ME ON THE HEAD. NOW, THE BAR THAT KEEPS THE LID OPEN HAS SNAPPED AND THE TRUNK WILL NOT STAY OPEN BY ITSELF. IT CLOSES WITH SUCH FORCE, IT COULD REALLY INJURE A PERSON,. IT WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE WHEN IT HAPPENED.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE AND WAS TOWED TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 98,000.
FRONT WHEEL PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT IS GOT LOCKED AND GOT STUCK BESIDE THE SEAT DUE TO DESIGN FLAWS WITH SEAT. IT'S NOW NO MORE IN USE UNTIL THE ISSUE HAS BEEN ADDRESS. WE HAVE TRIED TO CONTACT LOCAL HONDA DEALERS BUT THEY ARE ENTERTAIN OUR COMPLAINTS. THIS ISSUE IS BOTHERING US TO TRAVEL TOGETHER WITH FAMILY DUE TO SAFETY MEASURE FAILURE. HI I AM [XXX] AND I WAS THE PASSENGER IN A CAR ACCIDENT ON APRIL 3RD, 2020. THE DRIVER WAS [XXX] AND WE WE'RE HEADED HOME DOWN 184/CONERROSS CREEK ROAD AND WE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP AT A FOUR WAY STOP SIGN. [XXX] LOOKED LEFT AND SEEN A VEHICLE APPROACHING THE FOUR WAY AND [XXX] THEN LOOKED RIGHT AN HE LOOKED STRAIGHT AND THEN BEGAN TO LET OFF THE BREAK PEDAL AND THEN WE GOT HIT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE NEAR THE HEADLIGHT AREA. IT IS TOTALED. WHEN WE GOT HIT THE PASSENGER AIR BAGS WE HAD REPLACED FOR A RECALL ABOUT A YEAR AGO. MY HEAD CRACKED THE WINDSHIELD, MY CHEST HIT THE DASH WHICH CAUSED A BROKEN STERNUM AND TWO DISPLACED DISC. THE SUN VISORS ARE BROKEN AND DEFECTIVE. THIS IS LONG AFTER I FOUND OUT THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE FILED COMPLAINTS TOO ON THIS AND RECALLS.

THE DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR HAS SPLIT AND JUST HANGS DOWN IN THE LINE OF VISION....I PURCHASED A NEW GENUINE HONDA VISOR AND THE SAME THING IS HAPPENING TO IT. NOW THE PASSENGER SIDE VISOR IS ALSO BEGINNING TO SPLIT. HONDA WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR DEFECTIVE VISORS. IT IS NOT OVERUSED OR ABUSED IN ANY WAY. MY VEHICLE IS ALWAYS WELL MAINTANINED.
AT APPROXIMATELY 35 TO 40 MPH WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES LATELY DUE TO TRAFFIC SLOWING DOWN IN FRONT I HAD ABSOLUTELY NO BRAKE PEDAL AT ALL. THE PEDAL WENT IMMEDIATELY DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND THE VEHICLE HAD FAILED TO SLOW OR STOP. TO AVOID ACCIDENT I VEERED TO THE DIRT SHOULDER AND BEGIN TO SPIN OUT OF CONTROL ENDING UP BACK ON THE ROAD AND CRASHING INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE SEATBELTS HAD FAILED TO LOCK AS IF THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS NEVER DEPRESSED AND IT APPEARED THAT AS SOON AS THE TIRES HIT THE DIRT SHOULDER THE VEHICLE GAIN SPEED. IN ADDITION AIRBAGS WERE NEVER DEFLATED.

THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS NOTIFIED AND WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. THE PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT SUSTAINED A MINOR BURN TO HER RIGHT LEG. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT SOUGHT. A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO IAA TOWING FACILITY IN FREDERICKSBURG, VIRGINIA. NEITHER THE LOCAL HONDA DEALER NOR MANUFACTURER WERE CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. AIRBAG LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON AND I HAVE RECEIVED A LETTER STATING THIS FACT
TAKATA RECALL: 1/26/19 HAD A MVA WHERE FORD FUSION PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME. I TBONED HIM AROUND 20-30MPH, MY AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND SEAT BELTS LOCKED ALL THE WAY OUT. I HIT STEERING WHEEL AND WOUND UP WITH STERNAL FRACTURE WHICH IS NOW A NONUNION FRACTURE. I HAD TAKEN CAR INTO HONDA DEALER TO HAVE RECALL FIXED WHICH THEY SAID THEY DID ( I HAVE RECEIPTS) BUT THEY OBVIOUSLY DIDN'T. HONDA RECALL 16-048
I'M REALIZING THAT MY PASSENGER AIR BAGS HAS HAD MULTIPLE RECALLS MADE.
CAR LOST CONTROL ON THE ROAD AND MOVED OUTSIDE OF THE ROAD WHEN THE SIDE AIR BAGS GOT DEPLOYED. WHEN THEY GOT DEPLOYED THE AIR BAGS DID NOT INFLATE. THIS HAS CAUSED THE HEAD TO BE HIT ON THE WINDOWS OF THE CAR PRETTY HARD. HOW COULD IT HAPPEN THAT THE AIR BAGS GOD DEPLOYED BUT NO AIR GOT INFLATED INTO THE AIRBAGS. THEY JUST FELL AS IF A CLOTH \ CURTAIN WAS COMING OUT WITHOUT INFLATING. ATTACHED PICTURES SHOULD GIVE YOU AN IDEA.
FOR THE PAST YEAR I HAVE BEEN CALLING HONDA OF NORTH AMERICA REGARDING MY DASH FLICKERING OUT WHERE I CAN NOT SEE HOW FAST I AM DRIVING, MY ENGINE TEMPERATURE AND HOW MUCH FUEL IS LEFT IN MY CAR. ON OCTOBER 22, 2018 I FINALLY GOT IN TOUCH WITH SOMEONE AT HONDA IN THE PRESIDENT'S OFFICE WHO SAID THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THEY WOULD ADDRESS THE ISSUE. THEY TRANSFERRED ME TO AN AGENT WHO WAS CREATED A TICKET FOR MY COMPLAINT. THE TICKET NUMBER IS [XXX]. THEY SAID SOMEONE WOULD CONTACT ME AND THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN. WHEN I CALLED BACK IN ON TUESDAY OCTOBER 23, 2018 THEN TOLD ME THAT THEY DON'T WANT ADDRESS THIS ISSUE UNLESS I PAY FOR A HONDA DEALERSHIP TO RUN DIAGNOSTICS ON MY CAR AND I PAY FOR IT OUT OF POCKET. FOR THE DIAGNOSTICS. THE SUN VISOR FALLS AND IS SPLIT AND DOES NOT STAY IN PLACE. THIS REDUCES MY ABILITY TO BLOCK THE SUN WHEN I AM DRIVING.
I BOUGHT A 2011 HONDA CIVIC COUPE. I BOUGHT IT NEW AND HAVE BEEN THE ONLY OWNER. 2 YEARS AGO THE PAINT BEGAN PEELING ON THE TRUNK. THE PEELING HAS NOW EXTENDED FROM TRUNK TO THE ROOF. THE PAINT ON THE ROOF IS ALMOST ENTIRELY PEELING. THE TRUNK HAS HUGE SPOTS WHERE IT IS PEELING. THE HOOD HAS WHITE LINES ON IT ALSO FROM PAINT FAILURE. THIS CAR NOW LOOKS RIDICULOUS AND IS EMBARRASSING TO DRIVE.HONDA ISSUED A RECALL BUT NEVER ACTUALLY ALERTED PEOPLE THAT MAY HAVE THIS PROBLEM. THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY LIABLE FOR THIS PAINT FAILURE FOR USING CHEAP PRODUCTS.

CLEAR COAT IS SEPARATING FROM CAR. REVEALING A FADED LOOK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN A DRIVE THRU LINE, IT ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN WHILE STOPPED. THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY EXTREME PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL AND PLACE THE VEHICLE INTO PARK TO COMPLETELY STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED; HOWEVER, A DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,600.
WHILE DRIVING I REACHED UP TO PULL THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR DOWN TO BLOCK THE SUN GLARE. AS THE VISOR CAME DOWN IT MADE A CRACKING SOUND. AFTER STOPPING AND PLACING VISOR BACK UP AN IN PLACE. I LEARNED IT HAD BROKE ON THE FIRST USE. NOW THE VISOR WILL NOT STAY IN PLACE AND SOMETIMES SWINGS AND RESTRAINS MY VIEW AS A DRIVER. THIS IS A ODD OCCURENCE, OR A DETECTED PRODUCT.
IS IT COMMON TO BRAKE AXLE? OR IS THERE ANY CHANCES TO BRAKE WHILE REPLACING WHOLE BREAKS(FRONT WHEELS)? I DID MY INSPECTION AND EMISSIONS LAST WEEK @ J L FREED. THEY WERE SOME RECOMMENDATION ABOUT BRAKE REPLACEMENT. I ASKED THEM TO GO FOR IT AND THEY REPLACED BRAKES AND PASSED INSPECTION AND EMISSIONS. VERY NEXT DAY, WHILE I PULL BACK MY CAR FROM DRIVE WAY AND SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING. ENGINE WAS RUNNING BUT IT WAS MOVING FORWARD OR REVERSE. AT THE END, I DROPPED OF MY CAR(BY TOWED) BACK TO J L FREED, THEY SAID, SOME REASON AXLE IS BROKEN. I STATED THAT, IT MAY BE HAPPENED WHILE YOUR TECH WERE CHANGING FRONT BRAKES. THEY WERE NOT READY TO LISTEN AND DENIED THAT WE DIDN'T BRAKE IT. I PAID THEM TO REPLACE MY CAR AXLE BUT I WASN'T HAPPY ABOUT IT BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT READY TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITIES. PLEASE ADVISE.
THE AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR HAS BEEN CHANGED ONCE BEFORE. IT IS AGAIN GIVING PROBLEMS AND IS ONLY PRODUCING MILDLY COLD AIR. MY MECHANIC HAS INFORMED ME THAT I NEED TO CHANGE THE COMPRESSOR AGAIN. THAT WOULD BE #3!

INTERIOR WINDOW VISOR ASSEMBLY PARTS SEPERATION, CAUSING MALFUNCTION, HAZARDOUS OPTERATION AND VISIBILITY WHEN IN MOTION.
WINDSHIELD WIPERS DONT ALWAYS WORK. I WILL PUSH ON THE HANDLE AND THE WIPERS WILL NOT MOVE. THIS IS ALSO A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD, IF ITS RANING HARD AND I CANT SEE WHILE DRIVING. IT COMES AND GOES.MOST OF THE TIME YOU SMELL IT. IF YOU PUT CLIMATE CONTROL IN RETICULATION THERE IS NO SMELL OF RAW FUEL AT ALL.DEALER CANNOT FIND ANY LEAKS I CAN'T EITHER. SINCE THEY SOLD THIS TO ME AND THIS IS A HEALTH CONCERN CAN I MAKE THEM TAKE CAR BACK?
I WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH FRIDAY, 12/2 AND NEITHER MY AIRBAG OR SEAT BELT DID WHAT THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO DO. I ACCIDENTALLY REAR-ENDED SOMEONE ON THE HIGHWAY IN MODERATE TRAFFIC GOING APPROXIMATELY 20-25 MPH, AND MY AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY, AND MY SEAT BELT DID NOT LOCK, WHICH LED TO ME HITTING MY HEAD ON THE STEERING WHEEL.
WENT TO HONDA DEALER THIS WEEK. ASKED IF THERE WERE ANY RECALLS SINCE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH VISORS. HONDA SERVICE REP SAID NONE. FOUND YOUR WEBSITE MENTIONING RECALL WITH AIR BAGS THAT DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT, ALSO COMPLAINTS (NOT RECALL) WITH VISORS. BOTH SUN VISORS HAVE SEPARATED AT SEAMS, SAME PROBLEM AS MY 2006 CIVIC. UNFORTUNATELY BY THE TIME I HEARD ABOUT RECALL I HAD TRADED MY CAR IN. BUT IT'S THE SAME PROBLEM, THE VISOR WILL NOT STAY UP AND THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. THE HONDA SERVICE REP SAID NO RECALLS. HONDA DEALER WANTS ME TO PAY $63 PLUS TAX FOR A NEW DRIVER VISOR (FORGET REPLACING PASSENGER VISOR). IT SHOULD BE RECALLED SINCE IT'S THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE PAST CIVIC MODELS. NOW NEED TO PURSUE THEM ON AIR BAG RECALL SINCE I WASN'T AWARE OF THIS AND HE SAID THERE WERE NO RECALLS WHEN AT HONDA DEALER THIS WEEK. *TR
