2016 AC STOPPED WORKING IN SEPTEMBER 2019. WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN MARCH 2019 WITH ONLY 23K MILES ON IT. WE RECEIVED A LETTER FROM HONDA IN NOVEMBER 2019 ABOUT A FACTORY DEFECT CONCERNING THE AC. WE TOOK IT IN AND WAS CHARGED OVER $400 FOR A LEAK TEST. NO LEAK WAS FOUND, THEY PUT IN SOME DYE AND NOW TODAY ON MAY 12TH, 2020 THE AC IS BLOWING WARM AIR AGAIN. NOW I'M DOING RESEARCH ON THE ISSUE AND HAVE FOUND MANY, MANY COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME ISSUE. I HOPE HONDA STEPS UP WHEN TAKE IT IN TOMORROW. *TR
Steering wheel has some extra resistance (sticking, stiff and jerky) when making small corrections at any speeds, resulting in extra pressure being applied to break the resistance, resulting in sharp (hard) correction changes. When make small steering adjustments it has resistance, then suddenly becomes easy. This can cause oversteering when correcting.
AC WAS BLOWING OUT HOT AIR. DEALER CHARGED $280 TO RECHARGE AC WITH DYE. AFTER A MONTH, THEY INSPECTED THE AC AND FOUND THE EVAPORATOR AND CONDENSER LEAKING. CONDENSER IS UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT THE EVAPORATOR IS NOT, AND THEY QUOTED ME $1960 TO REPLACE IT. IT GETS VERY HOT IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AND IS A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN AC DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. *TR
2016 HONDA CIVIC EX STEERING WHEEL STICKY , STIFF & JERKY. MY VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE LANE KEEPING ASSIST. THE POWER STEERING WORKS FINE FOR LARGE MOVEMENTS BUT FOR SUBTLE MOVEMENTS, IT WOULD CAUSE RESISTANCE AND JERK WHEN YOU ADD MORE FORCE TO TURN. THIS ISSUE DOES NOT MATTER WITH VEHICLE SPEED, STOPPED OR MOVING PRODUCES THE SAME RESULT AND ONLY REQUIRES THE ENGINE TO BE RUNNING. THIS ISSUE CAUSES JERKY LANE POSITION AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS OVER CORRECTION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE RESISTANCE MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO CHANGE LANES, AS IT FEELS LIKE A FORCE IS ACTING IN OPPOSITE DIRECTION AND IT TAKES MORE TO MAKE SUBTLE MOVEMENTS. OVER 40 MPH AND ESPECIALLY ON HIGHWAY, THE STEERING WHEEL IS VERY JERKY. A SLIGHT ADJUSTMENT CAUSES THE STEERING WHEEL TO JERK IN THE HANDS RIGHT OR LEFT DEPENDING ON WHICH WAY IT IS BEING TURNED. IT FEELS LIKE THE STEERING WHEEL IS STUCK AND BREAKING LOOSE.
I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 4 YEARS AND KEPT UP ON MAINTENANCE; THE LAST MAINTENANCE WAS PERFORMED IN MARCH 2020. I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON A CITY STREET (2-WAY STREET) AND STARTED HEARING A CLICKING NOISE AND SMELLED SMOKE. THE FRONT PASSENGER THEN NOTICED FLAMES OUTSIDE OF HIS WINDOW. I TRIED TO STOP THE VEHICLE BUT THE BREAKS WOULDN'T WORK. I WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE TO A NEARBY STREET OPENING AND WE WERE LUCKILY ABLE TO ESCAPE. THE VEHICLE WENT UP IN FLAMES AND EXPLODED AT LEAST ONCE BEFORE THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED. THE VEHICLE IS A TOTAL LOSS. ACCORDING TO THE FIRE REPORT, THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE IS, "FAILURE OF EQUIPMENT OR HEAT SOURCE"; THE LISTED AREA OF FIRE ORIGIN IS, "ENGINE AREA, RUNNING". *TR
Hello, I've had my 2016 Honda Civic LX for almost 4 years now and noticed within the first year that the steering seemed to start getting "sticky" once I reach speeds over 35 mph. I brushed it off with the excuse that I live in a hot area, and maybe some things that I just don't understand are happening with the components. Yet, throughout the last year (55k-65k miles) it's becoming unbearable. To be specific, when I'm on the highway and I turn the vehicle towards the left or the right, the entire steering wheel feels like it catches on some kind of notch. This "catch" results in me having to use excessive force to steer the vehicle in the direction I'm trying to go. This makes me very concerned and nervous when I'm changing lanes, turning onto a street, or even simply following the curve of the road, as it can cause jerking motion and overcorrection. I've brought the vehicle into a Honda dealership before and the mechanic said he noticed what I was talking about, but was unsure of the cause. It did not get resolved, as I don't have the money to throw random components at it. This is my only vehicle and daily driver, I would be open to making it available for inspection. I have not had any one besides the dealership look into the problem. There has been no warning lights in the dash, and no other issues with this vehicle. The first experience I have with the sticky steering was 2020, at around 35k miles.
AFTER I DRIVE FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES THE STEERING WHEEL FEELS LIKE IT HAS A CATCH IN IT. IT MAINLY HAPPENS ON THE HIGHWAY. WHEN MAKING MINOR MOVEMENTS TRYING TO KEEP IT IN THE LANE IT FEELS LIKE IT CATCHES AND I HAVE TO PUSH THROUGH IT, THE CAR STARTS WEAVING A TAKES A FEW SECOND TO GAIN CONTROL OF IT. THIS PROBLEM BECAME VERY OBVIOUS WHEN I WAS DRIVING FROM ALABAMA TO ILLINOIS. IT HAPPENED THE ENTIRE WAY THERE AND BACK. I ALMOST LOST CONTROL A FEW TIMES. INCREDIBLY SCARY, ESPECIALLY WHEN OTHER CARS ARE NEAR.
I BROUGHT MY 2016 HONDA CIVIC TO DARLING' S HONDA IN BANGOR, MAINE FOR STEERING PROBLEMS. THE STEERING STICKS IN ONE POSITION AND REQUIRES A LITTLE FORCE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL TO CORRECT THE DIRECTION. THE STICKING CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO JERK, AND STICKS AGAIN IN THE OTHER POSITION. IT DOES NOT ALWAYS DO THIS, THE VEHICLE MUST BE DRIVEN FOR A WHILE SOMETIMES. I ADVISED THE SERVICE ADVISOR (SA), BRADLEY GONYA, THAT NUMEROUS OTHER PEOPLE (SEVERAL HONDA FORUMS) HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE, AND THEY ALL STATED THAT IT WAS THE ELECTRONIC STEERING CAUSING THE PROBLEM. THE SA, SAID THEY HOOKED IT UP TO THE COMPUTER TO FIND A CODE, TO WHICH THERE WAS NO FAULTY CODE. THE SA, SAID THEY ROAD TESTED THE VEHICLE BUT COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE CONCERN. *NOTE: MILEAGE IN 38290, MILEAGE OUT 38291 AS STATED ON RECEIPT ( MILE OUT TEST DRIVE AND MILE BACK. SA STATED THAT THE BALL JOINTS AND STRUTS CHECKED OK. REMOVED OUTER TIE ROD ENDS FROM KNUCKLES AND RECHECKED STEERING, NO PROBLEMS FOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS THERE FOR ONE WEEK, THE SA STATED THAT THEY WOULD CHECK IT DAILY TO TRY TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I ADVISED THE SA THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE DRIVEN TO DUPLICATE, AND THAT I DID NOT WANT TO PAY THE OUTRAGEOUS $120 PER HOUR RATE FOR THEM TO JUST LOOK AND RIDE, AND I RESTATED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS THE ELECTRONIC STEERING SYSTEM. THE SA STATED THAT UNLESS THE COMPUTER STATES THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM, THEY CAN'T CHANGE THE PART.
AIR CONDITIONER STARTED BLOWING HOT AT 35956 MILES IN MOTION
MY 2016 HONDA HAS BEGAN TO BLOWN HOT AIR THROUGH MY AIR CONDITIONING UNIT WHILE I'M DRIVING MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO BREATH.THIS BEGUN ON 4/2020 WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. I TOOK MY CAR TO NORM REEVES HONDA IN THE CITY OF CERRITOS, CA AND THEY SAID THAT THE CONDENSOR IS LEAKING AS WELL AS THE EVAPORATOR. THE CONDENSORS THAT HONDA HAS BEEN USING ON THERE 2016 - 2018 HONDA CIVICS HAVE A HISTORY OF FAILING AND THAT IS WHY HONDA IS NOW EXTENDING THERE WARRANT OF THEM FOR AN EXTRA TWO YEARS HOWEVER HONDA ALSO KNOW THAT THE EVAPORATORS ARE DEFECTED ALSO. I HAVE SPOKE WITH AMERICAN HONDA AND THEY ARE AWARE OF MY PROBLEM AND REFUSE TO HELP. HONDA ALSO KNOWS THAT YOU CAN'T REPLACE THE CONDENSOR WITHOUT SERVICING THE EVAPORATOR AND THAT IS THE WAY THAT THEY AVOID HAVING TO REPAIR THE DEFECTED PART ON YOUR VEHICLE. TO REPLACE THE LEAKING EVAPORATOR, HONDA SAID THEY WOULD CHARGE ME $1,609 AND EVEN THOUGH THIS DEFECTIVE PART WAS CAUSING ME BREATHING TROUBLE, THAT THE EVAPORATOR IS NOT COVERED IN THE NEW EXTENDED WARRANTY AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO COME UP WITH THE MONEY. IF HONDA HAD MADE ME AWARE OF THIS DEFECT AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE, I WOULD HAVE NEVER PURCHASED THIS CAR. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO THE FACT THAT THAT THE CAR IS PUMPING HOT AIR INTO THE VEHICLE EVEN WHILE TURNED OFF CAUSING BREATHING TROUBLE AS WELL A VISION TROUBLE FOR ANY DRIVER IN THE CAR. AIR COMPRESSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT 26,000 MILES AND COST $1200 AT THE DEALER. THE A/C WAS BLOWING HOT AIR. I LIVE IN FLORIDA SO THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND NOT SAFE FOR CHILDREN OR ELDERLY. I HAVE HAD THE CAR SINCE DAY ONE AND RELIGIOUSLY MAINTAIN AND TAKE CARE OF THE VEHICLE. THE MAN AT THE DEALER SAID THE CONDENSER IS UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT IT WAS THE COMPRESSOR. A QUICK ONLINE SEARCH SHOWS THAT 2016 HONDA CIVICS HAVE MASSIVE NUMBERS OF BOTH CONDENSER AND COMPRESSOR FAILURES, LEAKING FREON INTO THE ATMOSPHERE. THIS NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THE PART OF HONDA. *TR
WHEN CAR IS DRIVEN FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES AND IT'S HOT OUT THE STEERING BEGINS TO DRIFT TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT AND GETS STUCK AND NEEDS TO BE RECENTERED OFTEN CAUSING AN OVER CORRECTION AND JERK TO THE OTHER SIDE. THIS IS CONSTANT. DOES NOT OCCUR AS MUCH AT LOWER SPEEDS BUT ALWAYS AT OVER 50 MPH.
PURCHASED CAR IN JULY 2016, SINGLE OWNER, TOOK THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP, CAPITAL HONDA IN OLYMPIA, WA ON 4/10/2020 DUE TO NO COOL AIR FORM AC SYSTEM, INFORMED THAT THE COMPRESSOR HAS OIL AND REFRIGERANT LEAKING FROM COMPRESSOR, THE COMPRESSOR IS REQUIRED TO BE REPLACED TO FIX. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY SERVICE OR MAINTENANCE PERFORMED ON THE AC SYSTEM PRIOR TO VISIT ON 4/10/2020. I ELECTED TO NOT HAVE THE ESTIMATED $1800 REPAIR MADE AT THIS TIME. I WILL SCAN AND SEND IN THE REPAIR ESTIMATE IF REQUIRED.
THE AIR CONDITIONER STOPPED WORKING ON MY 2016 HONDA CIVIC EX. I BOUGHT THE CAR USED IN DECEMBER 2018. THE AC WORKED FINE IN 2019, BUT HAS NOT WORKED AT ALL IN 2020. IT BLOWS HOT AIR ON THE LEFT SIDE AND BARELY COOLER AIR ON THE RIGHT.
MY MAIN DISPLAY IS UNUSABLE AFTER DIFFERENT TYPE OF COLORS APPEAR ON THE DISPLAY. I CAN LISTEN TO THE MUSIC BUT MAIN DISPLAY IS NOT RESPONSIVE AND COLORS ON IT GO FROM BLUE LINES TO COMPLETELY BLACK. TRIED RESETING BY REMOVING THE BATTERY, REPLACING THE FUSE BUT NOT LUCK. ONCE IN A WHILE SCREEN WILL START WORKING AGAIN BUT AS SOON AS I TURN OFF THE CAR SCREEN GOES DARK AGAIN WITH LINES IN IT. I AM UNABLE TO USE THE REAR BACK CAMERA, UNABLE TO RESET SERVICE MAINTENANCE MINDERS. IT IS A DISTRACTION.
AC SYSTEM NEEDS A NEW CONDENSOR AND COMPRESSOR DUE TO LEAKING....CAR IS NOT EVEN 4 YEARS OLD...THIS ISSUE IS ONGOING AND HONDA HAS DONE NOTHING....NOT LIVING UP TO REPUTATION...THIS IS MY FIRST AND LAST HONDA. I HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY IN THIS CAR LESS THAN 3 YEARS OLD AND NOTHING WAS DRAINING IT....THIS HAS BEEN A PAIN IN THE BUTT EXPERIENCE....I'M GOING BACK TO TOYOYA. HONDA REFUSES TO DEAL WITH THIS AC ISSUE THAT MANY OF US ARE HAVING WHEN THEY ARE FULLY AWARE OF IT.
STEERING BECOMES JERKY AND TENDS TO STICK AFTER DRIVING AROUND FOR MORE THAN 20 MINUTES. RATHER THAN A SMOOTH TURN OF THE STEERING WHEEL IT REQUIRES A BIT EXTRA FORCE TO FREE UP THE STEER WHEEL TO MAKE EVEN MINOR ADJUSTMENTS. DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS TO MAKE A MINOR ADJUSTMENT TO STAY IN MY LANE REQUIRES A BIT OF EXTRA FORCE TO FREE UP THE "STUCK" STEERING WHEEL BEFORE I MAKE THE MINOR ADJUSTMENT, BUT TO MAKE THE MINOR ADJUSTMENT THE EXTRA FORCE REQUIRED TO FREE UP THE STUCK STEERING WHEEL SOMETIMES CAUSES A MAJOR ADJUSTMENT LIKE DRIFTING INTO ANOTHER LANE. I'VE DETERMINED THAT THIS NORMALLY OCCURS AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN FOR 20-30 MINUTES AND AT HIGHER AMBIENT TEMPERATURES OUTSIDE. HAPPENS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AS WELL AS JUST DRIVING AROUND TOWN. WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE USED IN JANUARY OF 2020, THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR THE PAST TWO WEEKS NOW.

HONDA HAS KNOWN A/C ISSUES WITH THE CORROSIVE 1234YF REFRIGERANT THAT IMPACTS THE ENTIRE COOLING SYSTEM. SERVICE BULLETIN COVERS THE CONDENSER HOWEVER DOES NOT COVER THE COMPRESSOR, CLUTCH OR COIL THAT IS A COSTLY FIX. HONDA HAS IGNORED THE PROBLEM AND SHOULD RECALL HOWEVER THEY WENT THE EASY WAY OUT AND PUT OUT A SERVICE BULLETIN.
I BOUGHT MY CIVIC NEW ON 2016. THE CAR STARTS TO HAVE STEERING BECOME JERKY AND TENDS TO STICK IN THE CENTER POSITION AFTER DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MORE THAN 20 MINUTES ON 03/15/2020. WHEN THAT HAPPENS THE CAR DRIFTS TO THE LEFT SIDE AND I HAVE TO USE A EXTRA FORCE TO PULL IT OUT OF THAT STICKING POINT BACK TO THE CENTER STEERING . I DID RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM ON CARCOMPLAINTS.COM AND FOUND 107 COMPLAINTS ON HONDA CIVIC 2016 EPS JERKY PROBLEMS. I ALSO FOUND HONDA RECALL 18V663000 ( POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILS ) ON CIVIC AND CRV 2017-2018 BUT NOT INCLUDED 2016 WHILE CIVIC 2016-2018 USE SAME EPS ASSEMBLY PART NO.53650-TBA-A01 THAT FIX THE EPS FAILS. I BROUGHT MY CAR TO HONDA DEALER TO DIAGNOSTICS THE PROBLEM ON 05/2020 WAS 52K MILES BUT THEY CAN'T CONFIRMED IT BECAUSE IT APPEARS AFTER AT LEAST 20MIN DRIVES SO THEY DON'T WANT TO SPEND THAT MUCH TIME TO DRIVE ON HIGHWAY! I NOTICED THE PROBLEM INTERMITTENTLY RELATIVE TO THE WEATHER TEMPERATURES AND THE PROBLEM APPEARS FEW MONTH AFTER I BROUGHT MY CAR TO DEALER FOR HONDA RECALL VSA AND PARKING BRAKE SOFTWARE UPDATED. IT'S CHALLENGING TO DRIVE A STRAIGHT LINE WHEN THE PROBLEM APPEARS . TODAY 04/28/2021 MY CAR HAS 57K MILES AND STILL HAVE SAME PROBLEM BUT CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY OVER $2500 TO REPLACE THE EPS ASSEMBLY DUE TO OUT OF MANUFACTURE WARRANTY. I AM DEEPLY DISAPPOINTED TO OWN A CAR HAS LESS THAN 60K MILES WITH MAJOR SAFETY ISSUES ON EPS UNPLEASURE TO DRIVE.
Every time my 2016 civic is driven for about 30 minutes straight above 60 mph the steering starts to become stiff and jerky. It feels as if the steering wheel locks into place and you must pull on the steering wheel to get it out of position while driving causing serious danger to myself and those driving near me. People who have driven behind me while the issue has happened have notified me that it looks like a drunk driver is at the wheel due to the jerking that needs to be done to get the steering wheel out of position. Driving speed limit on the expressway after 30 minutes has become a hazard and is very unfortunate due to the car only being about 6 years old. It has been going on for quite some time now and is a frequent issue that is popped up on civic forums for models 2016-2019.
THE A/C COMPRESSOR IS BROKEN DUE TO THE FAULTY CONDENSORS THAT HAVE NOW BEEN RECALLED. HONDA IS NOT DOING ANYTHING TO ADDRESS THIS AND IS KNOWINGLY ALLOWING FREON TO BE LEAKED OUT INTO THE ATMOSPHERE ON ALL THESE FAULTY CIVICS.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO NORM REEVES HONDA SUPERSTORE PORT CHARLOTTE (1252 TAMIAMI TRAIL, PORT CHARLOTTE, FL 33953) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A STICKY STEERING WHEEL. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO REACH THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000.
MY CAR AC IS BLOWING HOT AIR SINCE JANUARY 2019. MY CAR IS MAKING SOUND WHENEVER I TURN ON. FEBRUARY 28, 2020, MY CAR WAS SUDDENLY STOPPED WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY.
MY STATIONARY CAR WAS PARKED ON A FLAT SURFACE IN THE GARAGE. I WENT INSIDE WHEN MY NEIGHBOR INFORMED ME THAT THE CAR HAD BACKED OUT OF MY GARAGE AND ROLLED DOWN THE HILL INTO MY NEIGHBORS DRIVEWAY, HITTING THEIR CAR. NO ONE WAS IN THE CAR.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE 53,651.
ELECTRONIC STEERING BOX FAILURE CAUSING STEERING TO STICK AND VEER LEFT AND RIGHT WHILE ON THE INTERSTATE.
A/C NOT WORKING. JUST HIT 3 YEARS AND 50,000 MILES AND NOW NO MORE COLD A/C. I TOOK CAR IN TO LOCAL DEALER AND THEY JUST TRIED TO SAY MY SYSTEM NEEDED RECHARGING AND HAD NO LEAKS. I TOLD THEM I WANTED MY CAR BACK BECAUSE I KNOW THEY, KNEW IF THIS ISSUE AND WAS JUST AVOIDING TRYING TO FIX THE PROBLEM, AT MY EXPENSE. A WHOLE $390 QUOTE TO RECHARGE. TOOK MY CAR TO LOCALE REPARIE SHOP AND GUY LOOKED AT MY FOR 5 MINUTES AND TOLD MY COMPRESSOR WAS BAD, AND HE'S HAD 5 OTHER PEOPLE COME IN WITH SAME ISSUE. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN INTERSTATE 30 AT 70 MPH WHEN I HEARD A LARGE EXPLOSION. I PULLED OFF OF THE INTERSTATE TO CHECK MY TIRES AND FINALLY REALIZED THE SUNROOF EXPLODED. IT WAS NOT RAINING, THERE WAS NOT A DUMP TRUCK IN FRONT OF ME, I WAS NOT ON MY PHONE OR DISTRACTED, I WAS PAYING CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE ROAD AND THE SUNROOF EXPLODED OUT OF THE BLUE. THERE WAS NO POINT OF IMPACT BELOW THE GLASS INSERT, BUT THE ENTIRE SUNROOF WAS SHATTERED INTO A MILLION PIECES.
I WAS DRIVING MY WIFE TO HER DOCTORS APPOINTMENT IN MELBOURNE FLORIDA. AFTER 20 MINUTES AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS 55-65 MPH I NOTICED THE STEERING WHEEL SEAMED TO BE STICKING IN THE NEUTRAL POSITION.IF I HAD TO CORRECT LEFT OR RIGHT I WOULD HAVE TO USE FORCE AND IT WOULD SNAP AND JUMP ABOUT AN INCH CAUSING ME TO WEAVE INTO THE NEXT LANE. I PULL OFF AT THE NEXT INTERSECTION TO CHECK MY TIRES AND COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. I NOTICED THAT AFTER I SLOWED DOWN TO LESS THAN 40 MPH THE STEERING WORKED FINE, I GOT BACK ON THE INTERSTATE GOT UP TO SPEED AND IT STARTED STICKING AGAIN.GOT OFF THE INTERSTATE AND TOOK BACK ROADS THE REST OF THE WAY THERE AND HOME. TOOK IT OUT THE NEXT DAY AND IT WOULD NOT DO IT BUT NOW AFRAID TO TAKE LONG TRIPS FOR FEAR OF HAVING AN ACCIDENT. CHECKED THE INTERNET AND FOUND HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS AND NO RECALL.WHY DOE'S SOMEONE HAVE TO DIE TO GET THINGS FIXED.
MY 2016 HONDA CIVIC TOURING WHILE DRIVING APPROX. 60 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE IN ABOUT 60 DEGREE WEATHER WHILE RAINING. MY SUNROOF EXPLODED THE CENTER PORTION OF IT WHICH IN TURN DAMAGED MY DRUNK AND IF SOMEONE WAS BEHIND ME COULD HAVE HAD OTHER CATASTROPHIC EVENTS. NOTHING HIT MY CAR I HEARD THE EXPLOSION SOUNDED LIKE A GUNSHOT THEN SEEN THE BIG CHUNK OF GLASS HIT MY TRUNK AND HEARD IT AS WELL.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED MY 2016 HONDA CIVIC EX SEDAN ON FEBRUARY 5TH, 2020. THE AC ALMOST IMMEDIATELY DOESN'T WORK AND I THINK NOTHING OF IT BECAUSE I HAVE WINDOWS AND THEN WHEN I FINALLY HAVE TIME TO TAKE IT TO A SHOP TO GET CHECKED OUT, THEY RECHARGE THE AC FREON AND WHEN IT RUNS IT SOUNDS LIKE IT'S LEAKING A LOT AND I DIDN'T THINK THINK OF IT UNTIL THE AC NO LONGER WORKS AFTER A DAY, I TAKE IT BACK AND THEY SAY IT ALL LEAKED OUT AND TO REPLACE THE COMPRESSOR WHICH IS LEAKING IT, THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME $1800 AND I DON'T HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY SO I'VE BEEN GOING ALONG WITH AC AND ITS GETTING REALLY HOT IN CALI SUMMER. I JUST THINK THAT'S A HUGE ENVIRONMENTAL AND SAFETY ISSUE AND HONDA AMERICA SHOULD DEFINITELY PAY FOR IT BECAUSE I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE COMPLAINING, FORUMS ALL OVER THE STATES HAVE PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT IT AND SOME PEOPLE HAVE EVEN REPLACED THEIR COMPRESSOR 2 OR 3 TIMES(AND PAYED FOR IT THEMSELVES). THIS IS AN ISSUE AMONG ALL OF THE 10TH GEN CIVIC SEDANS AND COUPES. YOU MAY SHARE ALL OF MY INFO WITH THE MANUFACTURER OR ALL INVESTIGATIVE PARTIES FOR ANY REASON THEY NEED IF NEEDED.

WHEN PARKED, THE ALARM BLARING NON STOP FOR HOURS AND THE BATTERY DYING COMPLETELY WITHOUT WARNING OR DRAINAGE ON MY PART OF ANY KIND. ALL SYSTEMS ON THE CAR SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY AFTER LOSS OF POWER INCLUDING THE BRAKING SYSTEM AND YOU CAN DIVE IT THAT WAY. IT BRAKES HARD ON ITS OWN ON THE FREEWAY. THERE IS A USB PORT IN THE CENTER CONSOLE RIGHT NEXT TO CUP HOLDER THAT CAN GET WET IF YOU HAVE A DRINK IN THERE. I NOTICE THE WEATHER CONDITIONS WERE CLOUDY, RAINING, OR SNOWING DURING THE MAJORITY OF THE BIGGER ISSUES.

Steering sticks at a certain point of turning which makes it difficult to maintain a straight path and has almost caused a collision due to the fact that you end up over correcting your current path so you may vere into the other lane. The problem occurs at different times and seems to be at it's peak when it's hot outside and gives no warning lights or any other visible signs as to when it will occur. I bought the car used and it had around 20,000 miles on it, I noticed the issue soon after that. I have not had the problem looked at yet because it has been manageable but I fear that it may get worse and I know I'm not the only one with this issue. My vehicle may be inspected up on request.

The back up camera does not work if the car is put into reverse immediately after starting the car. The Honda logo appears on the screen and the car still reverses. If you put the car back in park and then move it back to reverse, usually the camera will come on. Sometimes, the car has to be restarted for the backup camera to work. I did not know this was something that needed to be reported until I saw that Ford recalled several of their vehicles for this same issue.

I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND DISCOVERED MY MOONROOF HAD SHATTERED - LUCKILY THE SHIELD HAD BEEN CLOSED. HONDA REFUSED TO CONSIDER THAT IT MIGHT BE A DEFECT AND SAID THAT EVEN IF IT WAS, IT DIDN'T MATTER AS MY CAR WASN'T UNDER WARRANTY. I ASKED TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER SEVERAL TIMES AND WAS REFUSED.

THE CAR IS 3.5 YEARS OLD, 36000 MILES, THE WARRANTY ENDED ONLY 6 MONTH AGO. HONDA PROVIDED AN ESTIMATE OF $1500 TO FIX THE PROBLEM. IN A FEW DAYS WHEN I WAS SUPPOSE TO PICK UP THE VEHICLE, HONDA CALLED ME SAYING THAT THEY WEREN'T ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND NOW THEY NEED TO REPLACE A POWER STEERING RACK AND POWER STEERING MOTOR AND IT WOULD COST $3000. THE CAR IS NOT DRIVABLE, IT'S A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AND SHOULDN'T HAPPEN AFTER ONLY 36000 MILES.
