MY COMPLAINT IS WITH THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE FLUID SEVERAL TIMES SINCE I HAVE HAD IT, DUE TO LOW FLUID. I NOW HAVE A "CASE HALVE" IN THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL IS LEAKING. A VERY COSTLY EXPENSE. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM ONLINE AND IT SEEMS THAT A MAJORITY OF CR-V OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT LAMPS NEED TO BE REPLACED SEVRAL TIMES PER YEAR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA CR-V. WHILE PARKED, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO UNLOCK THE VEHICLE DOORS AND ONLY THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WOULD UNLOCK. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY AND THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO ENTER THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE DRIVER, PASSENGER OR THE REAR TRUNK DOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WHERE THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THAT THE REMOTE KEY NEEDED TO BE RESET. THE KEY WAS RESET. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ONE YEAR LATER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WHERE THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THAT THE FRONT AND BACK ACTUATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
I OWN 2006 HONDA CRV. MY COMPLAINT IS ABOUT REAR DIFFERENTIAL FLUID. THE OWNER'S MANUAL STATES THAT REAR DIFFERENTIAL FLUID NEEDS TO BE CHANGED EVERY 60,000-90,000 MILES. FIRST TIME HAD TO REPLACE IT AT 19000 MILES BECAUSE OF THE NOISE WHEN THE WHEELS WERE TURNED RIGHT/LEFT AT LOW SPEEDS. THE SAME PROBLEM RESURFACED AT 53000 MILES AGAIN. THE DEALERSHIP PUSHES A $250 DOLLAR PROCEDURE (REAR DIFFERENTIAL CHANGE 2 TIMES AND BURNISHING THE CLUTCHES) TO FIX THE PROBLEM AS THE VEHICLE IS NOT UNDER THE WARRANTY ANYMORE. THE DEALER ALSO RECOMMENDS CHANGING THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL EVERY 15000 MILES. HONDA MISLED ITS CUSTOMERS WITH ITS LOW MAINTANNACE SCHEDULE. *TR
2006 HONDA CRV. HAVE REPLACED DRIVERS SIDE SUNVISOR 4 TIMES, WAITING ON NUMBER 5. AFTER ANYWHERE FROM 2 MONTHS TO 1 YEAR THE SUNVISOR WILL NOT STAY UP IN PLACE. CREEPS BACK DOWN INSTANTLY AND CANNOT SEE OUT OF WINDSHIELD EVEN WITH VISOR PUSHED ALL THE WAY TOWARDS WINDSHIELD. OFFERS NO USE, AND WHEN TRYING TO USE IT OBSTRUCTS VIEW AND IS VERY DANGEROUS. IF VISORS ARE REQUIRED, THEN THIS ONE IS A FAILURE. HAVE NOTED OTHERS ON THE HONDA CRV OWNERS CLUB FORUM WITH SAME PROBLEM. HAVE ASKED THAT THEY ALSO FILE WITH NHTSA. TO BE CLEAR, WHEN STORED AWAY IN NORMAL POSITION IT STAYS IN PLACE, WHEN TRYING TO PULL IT DOWN AND PUSH TOWARDS WINDSHIELD WHEN SUN IS IN FACE, IT PUSHES TO WINDSHIELD THEN INSTANTLY FLOPS BACK DOWN TO POSITION WHERE IT OBSCURES THE VIEW OUT THE WINDSHIELD. REPLACEMENTS WORK FINE FOR SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. THEY HAVE WARRANTIED 3 TIMES, AND I HAVE HAD TO BUY TWICE AS IT WAS JUST OVER 1 YEAR BEFORE I TOOK IT IN. I HAVE AND OLD PART THAT WAS REPLACED WHEN I HAD TO PURCHASE OUT OF WARRANTY. THE KEPT THE OTHER PARTS, BUT HAVE NO EXPLANATION FOR FIX. *TR
VIBRATION IN STEERING SYSTEM OF CAR AFTER INSTALLING 4 NEW BRIDGESTONE DUELLER 684 TIRES. TIRES HAVE BEEN BALANCED 3 TIMES BUT VIBRATION CONTINUES. CHECKED LATERAL RUNOUT ON TIRES AND FOUND IT TO VARY FROM .055 TO .070" WHILE RADIAL RUNOUT WAS FOUND TO BE ..060" TO .065". THESE READING WERE FROM 3 TIRES MANUFACTURED IN TOKYO PLANT IN WEEK 44 OF 2009. A 4TH TIRE MANUFACTURED IN A MEXICO PLANT HAD VERY LOW LATERAL AND RADIAL RUNOUTS. TIRE IDENTIFICATION DATA IS AS FOLLOWS: BRIDGESTONE DUELLER HT 684 DOT EMHBCEK4409. (3 EACH) ALL TIRES STILL IN USE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA CRV. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, HE FELL ASLEEP BEHIND THE WHEEL AND CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED AND CAUSED THE CONTACT TO SUSTAIN INJURIES TO THE LEFT ARM AND FACE. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT SUFFERED HEARING LOSS IN BOTH EARS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 280,000. ... UPDATED 02/27/13 *BF UPDATED 03/04/13
I HAD THE DRIVERS SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLAMP GO OUT. THERE IS A WIRE CLIP THAT HOLDS THE LIGHT BULB IN. REPLACED THE LIGHT BULB. EVER SINCE THEN I HAVE TO REPLACE THE BULB ABOUT EVERY 3 MONTHS. I TRIED TO GET A NEW WIRE CLIP IN CASE THE BULB WAS MOVING A LITTLE AND CAUSING THE BURNING OUT. WAS TOLD BY THE HONDA DEALERSHIP THAT THE CLIP DOESN'T EXIST ANYMORE. NO REPLACEMENT PART. I HAVE READ MANY BLOGS ON LINE ABOUT PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE BULBS BURNING OUT WITH VERY LITTLE RESOLUTION. CALLED HONDA ABOUT PROBLEM AND I HAVE TO SEND THEM SOMETHING IN WRITING SO THAT THEY CAN CHECK INTO IT AND GET BACK TO ME. WITH SO MANY PEOPLE BLOGGING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. I WOULD SURELY THINK THAT A RECALL SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE. *TR
SINCE 2010 LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS FAIL, ONE SIDE OR THE OTHER, EVERY 2 OR 3 MONTHS. HAVE REPLACED BOTH SIDES SEVERAL TIMES. I JUST HEARD ABOUT A RECALL AND DISCOVERED 2005 NOT INCLUDED - IT NEEDS TO BE. *TR
THE ELECTRONIC DOOR OPENER LOCKED THE CAR EVEN WHEN KEYES IN IGNITION. I WAS LOCKED OUT OF THE CAR TWICE WITH THE KEYES IN THE IGNITION, AND ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS I WAS UNABLE TO OPEN DRIVER SIDE DOOR, AND HAD TO EXIT VEHICLE FROM PASSENGER DOOR. DEALER REPLACED LOCKING MECHANISM. *TR
PLEASE EXTEND NHTSA EXISTING INVESTIGATION INTO HEADLAMPS ON THE 2002-2004 MODELS INTO MODEL YEAR 2005 AND FORWARD. WE HAVE REPLACED THE LOW BEAM HEADLAMP BULBS MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR AND A HALF. THE MOST RECENT BULB REPLACEMENT BURNED OUT WITHIN 2 MONTHS. WE HAVE RECEIVED A TICKET FOR A HEADLAMP OUT. OUR MECHANIC REPLACED NOT ONLY THE DRIVERS' SIDE BULB BUT THE ASSEMBLY THAT THE BULB FITS INTO - LASTED LESS THAN 8 WEEKS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THE LOW BEAM BULB WAS REPLACED FIVE TIMES. THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THEIR HEADLIGHT RECALL. THE VIN INFORMATION WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN COULD NOT BE VERIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
SERIOUS VIBRATIONS WHEN MAKING A SHARP LEFT OR RIGHT TURN ON HONDA CRV 2006 MODEL. BASED ON VARIOUS ONLINE FORUMS AND HONDA DEALER IN FREMONT, IT IS BECAUSE OF THE BAD REAR DIFFERENTIAL FLUID THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. HONDA WARRANTY SAYS THAT THIS FLUID SHOULD BE REPLACED BETWEEN 60,000 - 90,000 MILES WHILE MY CRV HAS ONLY 33,000 MILES ON IT. WHEN I ASKED THE HONDA DEALER TO COVER IT UNDER WARRANTY, THEY DENIED. I WANT HONDA TO FIX THIS PROBLEM SINCE IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. *TR
2005 CRV HAS HEADLIGHT LOW BEAM BURN OUT PROBLEM AS I'VE SEEN ON THE INTERNET. THE HEADLIGHTS BURNS OUT EVERY COUPLE OF MONTHS. BOTH SOMETIMES BOTH BURN OUT AT THE SAME TIME. THIS SEEMS VERY DANGEROUS. SO FAR THERE HAS NOT BEEN AN ACCIDENT THAT I KNOW OF. SINCE 2006 HAVE REPLACE 6 BULBS. *TR
LEFT FIRESTONE AUTO TO GET AN IL CHANGE ON UNIVERISTY BLVD AFTER OIL CHANGE, PROCEEDED ONTO UNIVERSITY BLVD, MADE A LEFT ONTO BROADHEAD ROAD(?), MADE A RIGHT INTO DOLLAR BANK PARKING LOT. PULLED UP TO ATM AND ATM WAS OUT OF SERVICE. DROVE AROUND THE BUILDING TO GO INTO THE BANK TO GET MONEY OUT INSTEAD. TURNED INTO PARKING SPOT FOUR, PUMPED GAS THEN BRAKE....CAR ACCELERATED AND I PUMPED ON BRAKES AGAIN AND THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP. I HIT A POLE IN FRONT OF THE BANK, THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. THE CAR WAS SMOKING AND SMELLED OF BURNING OIL AND SMOKE. THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP AND APPEARED TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN. *TR
THE FOLLOWING IS A PROBLEM THAT I HAVE WITH MY VEH, WHICH I HOPE YOU CAN RESOLVE. CR.V 2005 VIN # [XXX] MAINTENANCE HISTORY: ALL SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE WERE PERFORMED BY HONDA OF NANUET. PROBLEM: APPROXIMATELY 2 YEARS AFTER PURCHASE THE LED LIGHTS OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, STARTING FROM THE LEFT SIDE, BEGIN TO GO OUT. RESULTING THAT DURING NIGHT-TIME DRIVING I AM UNABLE TO SEE THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE AND PART OF THE RPM GAUGE. DURING A SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE I BROUGHT THIS SITUATION UP, TO THE SVC MGR WHO PROMPTLY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS NOT A COVERED ITEM. I MENTIONED THAT I WAS EXTREMELY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS SAFETY ISSUE BUT THE ISSUE WAS NOT RESOLVED. NEEDLESS TO SAY, MORE OF THE LED LIGHTS HAVE STOPPED WORKING; THE ONLY LIGHTS THAT CONTINUE TO WORK ARE THE ONES ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE SPEEDOMETER THAT LIGHT UP 120MPH THRU 140MPH. THIS SITUATION IN MY OPINION IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS ONE WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. AND MAY RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT OR WORSE. THE LEDS OBLIVIOUSLY WERE DEFECTIVE FROM THE BEGINNING AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED BY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT IN NANUET. SINCE THIS SITUATION IS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS- SINCE I DO USE THE VEHICLE AT NIGHT, I AM RESPECTFULLY REQUESTING THAT HONDA REPLACE THE LEDS LIGHTS AT NO COST TO ME. I SPOKE WITH MR SERGIO SALVADOR, CUST SVC ON 4/1/10 WHO SIMPLY STATED THAT I SHOULD'VE DONE SOMETHING EARLIER. I TOLD THAT I DID INFORMED THE DEALER SERVICE MGR TWO YEARS AFTER PURCHASE, OF THE PROBLEM AND MY CONCERN ABOUT MY SAFETY DRIVING AT NIGHT, I ALSO TOLD THAT THIS DEFECT IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WITH SEVERE POSSIBLE CONSEQUENCES, AND FURTHER EMPHASIZED THAT THE HONDA DEALERSHIP WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM 3 YEARS AGO BUT DID NOTHING ABOUT IT. MR. SALVADOR STILL MAINTAINED THAT HONDA WOULD NOT MAKE THE REPAIR. I TOLD HIM THAT THE LED LIGHTS MUST HAVE BEEN DEFECTIVE FROM THE ONSET. THERE WAS NO RESOLUTION. VEHICLE IS A 2005 HONDA CRV. THE UPPER REAR HINGE ON THE TRUNK (OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE) RUSTED COMPLETELY OFF AND THE DOOR FELL OFF THE UPPER HINGE, AND DAMAGED THE LOWER HINGE AS WELL FROM THE WEIGHT. IT FELL ONTO MY UPPER LEG SEVERELY BRUISING IT, AND I HAD TO MUSCLE THE DOOR BACK ON UNTIL IT COULD BE REPAIRED. ACCORDING TO AMERICAN HONDA AND MY CASE N012010-03-3101277 (GENE) RUST IS ONLY COVERED FOR 3 YEARS. I AM ASTOUNDED THAT THEY FEEL THIS KIND OF THING IS OK TO HAVE HAPPEN AND THAT THEY ARE UNWILLING TO HELP RESOLVE THIS CLAIM. THE VEHICLE IS DESIGNED SO THAT THIS HINGE IS ALWAYS GOING TO BE EXPOSED TO THE ELEMENTS - THEY SHOULD KNOW THAT IT IS AT RISK FOR RUST BASED ON EXPOSURE. KEEP REPLACING HEADLIGHTS FOR THE LAST THREE YEARS EVERY 3 TO 6 MONTHS! IT IS AMAZING HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES AND HONDA DOES NOT ADMIT THERE IS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITH 2005 HONDA C-RV. NOW THE PASSENGER HEADLIGHT WILL NOT WORK AT ALL.TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE WHAT THEY SAY AND IF I DON'T LIKE THERE ANSWER I WILL GO ELSEWHERE! POSSIBLE LAWSUIT! *JS
CAR HAD UNINTENDED SUDDEN ACCELERATION AFTER TURNING RIGHT INTO A PARKING SPACE AND JUMPED THE CURB AND CRASHED INTO AN APARTMENT HOUSE PATIO. *CN
HAVE TO REPLACE HEADLIGHTS APPROX EVERY 3 MONTHS. HAVE REPLACED DRIVER'S SIDE 6 TIMES, PASSENGER SIDE 4 TIME. BOTH WENT OUT AT SAME TIME WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT ON 10/14/11. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT BULB WOULD BLOW PREMATURELY AND CONTINUOUSLY. THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT BULB WAS REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUOUSLY RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 112,000.
2005 CR-V: THE LOW BEAMS BURN OUT CONSTANTLY AT AN ACCELERATED RATE. THE TWO BULBS BURN OUT VIRTUALLY BACK-TO-BACK WITHIN 10 DAYS OF EACH OTHER. I HAVE BEEN FORCED TO DRIVE WITH ONLY MY BRIGHTS. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL OCCURRENCES OF THIS IN 150,000 MILES OF DRIVING...ONCE ON VACATION, NO LESS. I HAVE SPOKEN TO TWO OTHER OWNERS OF SAME MODEL WITH SAME COMPLAINT. FOR THE RECORD, I OWNED A 2002 CR-V WHERE I RARELY REPLACED ANY BULBS IN 200,000 MILES! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND CREATES A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. OBVIOUSLY, SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE DESIGN - PERHAPS THE DESIGNED VOLTAGE IS GREATER THAN THE BULBS CAN ACCEPT RESULTING IN FREQUENT BULB FAILURE FAR ABOVE (WHAT I BELIEVE) A STATISTICAL ANALYSIS WOULD DEEM WITHIN AN ACCEPTABLE MARGIN. PLEASE INVESTIGATE! *TR THE CONSUMER NO LONGER OWNS THE VEHICLE PUT CONTINUOUSLY RECEIVES RECALL NOTICES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. *JS
PARKED IN A SPOT IN FRONT OF PARTY CITY, FOOT WAS ON BRAKE AND I PUT THE CAR INTO PARK. REMOVED MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE AND THE CAR ACCELERATED INTO THE BUILDING. WHEN THE CAR FINALLY STOPPED BECAUSE I HIT A BRICK WALL I WENT TO SHUT THE CAR OFF AND IT WAS STILL IN PARK. I REMOVED THE KEY. FORTUNATLEY NO ONE WAS INJURED, MY 2 GRANDSONS WERE IN THE BACK IN THEIR CAR SEATS AND MY DAUGHTER WAS IN THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT. MY CAR IS GOING TO BE REPAIRED BY A HONDA DEALER AND I WILL STRESS WHAT HAPPENED BUT DO NOT FEEL CONFIDENT THAT THEY WILL LOOK FOR THE PROBLEM. THEY WILL PROBABLY SAY THAT I AM A CRAZY LADY AND MUST OF STEPPED ON THE GAS INSTEAD OF THE BRAKE. I ABSOLUTELY KNOW THAT DID NOT HAPPEN, THE CAR TOOK OFF ON ME. I ALMOST FELT LIKE IT WENT INTO AUTO DRIVE. WHAT CAN I DO-THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE!

WITH HER FOOT ON THE BRAKE, SHE PLACED THE GEAR INTO PARK, REMOVED HER FOOT FROM THE BRAKE AND SUDDENLY, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INTO A BUILDING. ON 2010 JANUARY 04 AT 15:00 I WAS DRIVING WEST IN MY 2005 HONDA CR-V ON THE NY STATE THRUWAY IN THE LEFT LANE, WHEN AT MILE MARKER 233.3 I RECEIVED A HEAD CONCUSSION FROM THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG, WHICH INFLATED BUT DID NOT DEFLATE. I WAS UNCONSCIOUS FOR SOME TIME, AND I DO NOT REMEMBER SUBSEQUENT EVENTS. MY CAR SUFFERED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE LEFT FRONT SUSPENSION, BUT NO OTHER PEOPLE OR VEHICLES WERE INVOLVED. THE POLICE ARRIVED AND ARRANGED TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP IN ORISKANY, NY, AND I WAS TAKEN TO A MOTEL. TEN DAYS LATER THE REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED, AND THE DEFECTIVE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG WAS PRESERVED BY THE REPAIR SHOP. *TR
ABS PROBLEM - SACRED TO DRIVE WHEN IT SNOWS I HAVE A 2006 HONDA CRV AND HONDA ACCORD. THE PROBLEM IS MORE PROMINENT ON THE CRV. WHEN THERE IS SNOW ON THE ROAD, ABS KICKS IN AND THE CAR DOES NOT STOP WHEN BRAKING, EVEN WHEN THE SPEED IS ONLY 10MPH. THIS HAPPENS MORE IF COMING DOWN A GRADIENT. THE GRADIENT CAN BE VERY LITTLE. MY 2005 FRONT WHEEL DRIVE CRV HAS A RUMBLING IN THE FRONT AND ALSO SEEMS TO SLIP WHEN ACELLERATING. MANY OTHER SEEM TO HAVE THIS COMPLAINT WITH HONDA CRVS AND MINE IS A 2005 NON AWD. 2006 HONDA CRV HIT THE GUARDRAIL ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE CAR (THE FAST LANE). WHEN IT HIT THE GUARDRAIL THE SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED BUT DID NOT PROTECT THE HEAD, INSTEAD IT SQUEEZED THE HEAD INTO THE WINDOW (DEPLOYED DOWN, BUT BAG WENT OVER THE HEAD LIKE A TENT ). *TR

BEFORE STOP SIGN, I RELEASED THE ACCELERATOR AND STARTED TO BRAKE, AS USUAL IT STOPPED BEFORE THE STOP SIGN, BUT THAT DAY IT DID NOT. AT THE MOMENT I REALIZED I COULD NOT STOP THE CAR, I WAS THINKING TO CROSS ROAD, BUT THERE WAS NO TIME TO REACT I GOT HIT BY THE CAR WHO TRAVELED ON THE ROAD PERPENDICULAR TO MY DIRECTION. THIS ACCIDENT WAS CONSIDERED AS MY MISTAKE. SINCE I DID NOT HAVE COLLISION INSURANCE AND THE CAR WAS TOTALED WHICH IS THE BIG FINANCIAL LOSS (ACTUAL MARKET VALUE ESTIMATED IN $20K) IN MY LIFE. AT THE SAME TIME I SUFFERED THE BURNING ON ARM FROM THE AIRBAG POPUP AND FREQUENT NOISE ON EARS. UNTIL TODAY I STILL HAVE ISSUES WITH INSURANCE COMPANY ON MEDIAL COVERAGE. I AM THE CAREFUL DRIVER AND NEVER HAVE HAD ANY ACCIDENT CAUSED BY MYSELF. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT REALLY HAPPEN ON THE DAY AT THE TIME. AT THE BEGINNING I BLAME THE BRAKE, WHICH MIGHT BE WORE OUT SINCE I JUST HAVE TIRES REPLACED (THE LIFE TIME FOR THE TIRES SHOULD BE 6 YEARS OR OVER 70K MILES BUT ACTUALLY WORE OUT IN 3 YEARS AND 45K MILES). BUT THE TECHNICIAN NEVER WARNS ME FOR REPLACING BRAKES. AFTER I REPORTED MY SUSPICIOUS TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY THEN THERE WAS A PHONE MESSAGE FROM SOME ONE DECLARED THE BRAKE WAS IN GOOD CONDITION (I ASSUME THE PHONE MESSAGE WAS FROM INSURANCE COMPANY). ANY WAY I HAVE TO ADMIT ALL ARE MY OWN BAD LUCK. RECENTLY I WATCHED THE NEWS AND LEARNED THAT TOYOTA HAS RECALL OVER A LOT OF MODELS FOR ACCELERATOR PROBLEM AND I NOTICED THAT BOTH THE ELECTRONIC AND MECHANIC COMPONENTS USED ON ACCELERATORS ARE MADE BY THE SAME COMPANY CTS. WE KNEW IT TOOK TOYOTA ABOUT 8 YEARS TO EVENTUALLY ADMIT THEIR DESIGN PROBLEM AND I BELIEVE HONDA MIGHT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AS TOYOTA. 2005 HONDA CRV AIRCONDITIONING SYSTEM COMPLETE FAILURE
MY 2006 HONDA CRV SPONTANEOUSLY COMBUSTED WHILE SITTING IN FRONT OF MY HOME. IT HAD NOT BEEN DRIVEN FOR AT LEAST 8 HOURS. THE FIRE STARTED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND CONSUMED THE ENTIRE FRONT OF THE CAR BEFORE THE FIRE DEPARTMENT PUT IT OUT. THE CAR HAD NO MECHANICAL PROBLEMS, HAD BEEN SERVICED BY A CERTIFIED HONDA DEALER REGULARLY (THE LAT TIME WAS IN APRIL 2009), AND WAS TURNED OFF AND LOCKED WHEN IT IGNITED. THE CAR IS TOTALED. THE FIREMEN WHO PUT OUT THE FIRE INDICATED THAT THERE WAS NO SIGN OF VANDALISM, AS THE CAR WAS PARKED AND LOCKED, NO SIGN OF ACCELERANT WAS FOUND, AND THE FIRE WAS IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, WHICH WAS LOCKED. *TR
HOOD ON CAR OPENED WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY - WITHOUT WARNING - HAD TO STOP CAR IMMEDIATELY DUE TO FACT OF NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE. NO ONE WAS INJURED, THANK GOODNESS BECAUSE MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER WERE IN THE CAR, BUT THERE IS DAMAGE TO VEHICLE. CAR IS LEASED VEHICLE AND I DO NOT WANT TO BE CHARGED FOR REPAIR. *TR

MY A/C COMPRESSOR IN MY 2006 HONDA CRV BLEW UP CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE ENTIRE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM. THIS HAPPENED ON A 9 HOUR TRIP THROUGH TEXAS SUMMER HEAT WITH YOUNG CHILDREN IN THE BACK SEAT. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET I FOUND OUT THAT IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM AMONG SECOND GENERATION CRVS. HONDA IS SELLING THESE CARS KNOWING THAT THE COMPRESSOR IS DEFECTIVE AND HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL AND THEY REFUSE TO PAY FOR THE FULL COST OF REPAIR. IN ADDITION, A REPAIR DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN. *TR

WHILE HAVING THE VEHICLE SERVICED FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE SEAT BELT SENSOR FAILED AND THE AIR BAGS WOULD NOT DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,989 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 102,000.

REGARDING 2006 HONDA CRV. PROBLEM - DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW AUTO FUNCTION NOT WORKING PROPERLY. PROBLEM BEGAN PRIOR TO THE VEHICLE REACHING 30,000 MILES. WINDOW STOPS GOING UP AS IF IT HIT AN OBSTRUCTION. SOMETIMES WILL NOT GO DOWN AT ALL. DEALER WOULDN'T IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM FOR ANOTHER 10,000 MILES, BUT IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE WINDOW REGULATOR HAD TOO MUCH PLAY IN IT. HONDA ALSO SUPPOSEDLY ISSUED A BULLETIN TO ITS DEALERS REGARDING PROBLEMS RESULTING FROM WATER AND DEBRIS GETTING INTO THE WINDOW MECHANISMS. *TR

I WAS GETTING AN OIL CHANGE AND THE ATTENDANT DOING THE CHANGE POINTED OUT A PROBLEM WITH ALL FOUR OF MY TIRES. THE SIDEWALLS HAD MULTIPLE CRACKS IN THEM. SOME ARE AN INCH LONG AND LOOK DEEP. THE MANAGER OF THE FACILITY SAID THEY WERE CAUSED BY THE SUN. I CONTACTED MICHELIN AND THEY SEEMED TO AGREE. I DON'T BELIEVE IT. ALL FOUR TIRES HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. I DON'T HAVE MY RECEIPT ANY LONGER. THE TIRES WERE PURCHASED IN FALL OF 2008. I THINK THE CRACKS ARE DANGEROUS AND COULD RESULT IN A BLOWOUT. I READ ABOUT 5 BLOWOUTS THAT OCCURRED WITH THESE SAME STYLE TIRES WHERE THE DRIVER DID NOT KNOW WHAT CAUSED THE BLOWOUT. MAYBE THE TIRES HAD CRACKS. MICHELIN DOES NOT MAKE HARMONY TIRES ANYMORE. AT LEAST, I COULDN'T FIND ANY FOR SALE. TREAD DEPTH IS ABOUT 7/32". I HAVE PHOTOS THAT SHOW THE CRACKS WELL. I YOU WANT TO SEE THEM, LET ME KNOW. *TR

IN ORDER TO SUBMIT A COMPLAINT WITH HONDA, I HAVE TO HAVE THEM DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM, WHICH WILL COST A FEW HUNDRED DOLLARS. THE LABOR COST TO ACCESS THE HEADLIGHTS IS EXTENSIVE, ACCORDING TO MY DEALER. I AM FRUSTRATED THAT OTHER CARS WITH THIS PROBLEM ARE ABLE TO BE REPAIRED AS PART OF A RECALL BUT MINE ISN'T. AT WHAT POINT WILL HONDA THINK THAT MAYBE MY CAR SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL? *TR
