Driver side rear trailing arm broke free of the frame. Resulted in sudden loss of control and near accident.
Unknown
The contact owns a 2006 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 MPH at night, the driver's side low beam headlight had failed to operate as needed. The contact stated that the high-beam headlights operated as needed; however, the driver's side low-beam headlight was inoperable. The contact stated that no warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local mechanic who replaced the driver's side headlight bulb. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that the failure had become a recurring failure and had recently occurred to the passenger’s side low beam headlight. The contact researched online and became aware of similar failures with other vehicles. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.
Extensive undercarriage rust around the frame. It looks like it should’ve been included in the recalls but doesn’t say it is.
I purchased my vehicle used in 2019 and immediately noticed a loud creaking noise from the front passenger area, especially in colder weather when driving over bumps at low speeds. By 2024, the noise became louder, more frequent, and occurred in all temperatures. In October 2024, I lost control of my vehicle and nearly flipped. Warning lights briefly appeared, indicating possible suspension issues, but they disappeared before I could diagnose the problem. Unfortunately, I had no choice but to continue driving despite the safety risk. In February 2025, I had a flat tire on the front passenger side and discovered it was nearly bald—far more worn than the other tires of the same age. Upon removal, it became clear that the front lower control arm was in a dangerously unnatural state and needed replacement. I recalled seeing a 2012 recall for this exact part in my Honda account, but when I entered my VIN, it stated the recall didn’t apply—likely due to age rather than the actual defect. This is a life-or-death issue that could easily lead to a fatal crash. Honda must address this immediately.
Vehicle brakes come on spontaneously while driving, during acceleration in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear. Seems to be a part of the ABS/VSA system faulty engagement (Anti-Lock Brakes System/Vehicle Stability Assist) since the VSA warning light come on during the fault. Causes vehicle to brake, jerk and buck in middle of road. Almost got rear-ended on several occasions. Car stalls in middle of roadway. Disfunctional safety system failing to work properly. Intermittent problem that has occurred several time in the past year. Local dealer was "not able" to diagnose the problem despite inspection and problem issue report.
The contact owns a 2006 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and attempting to complete a right turn, he heard an abnormal popping sound coming from the front passenger’s side of the vehicle. The contact also stated that while driving over a bump, the vehicle briefly drifted to the right. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the passenger’s side front lower control arm. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related it to NHTSA Campaign Number: 12V124000 (Suspension), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 178,000.
I have a 2006 Honda CRV with a little over 297,780 miles. Upon starting the car, the VSA and ABS indicator lights came on along with the VSA warning triangle and would not go off until the engine was turned off. There were no accidents or any noticeable problems with the vehicle while driving on city street under good conditions. I feel that this defect is essential in ensuring the overall safety of this car. The weight of the car is significant enough that an uncontrolled skid is much more likely to end in disaster than a skid that is stopped with the VSA and ABS function working properly. I feel that Honda should recall these cars and replace the VSA modulator unit entirely at Honda's expense. And for those who have already paid for the repair - reimburse the full amount of the repair! Since this component controls brakes and stability it seems to me to be a safety issue and therefore subject to a recall.
stabilizer bars broken Honda dealer reports frame is badly rusted
The rear passenger wheel assembly became detached after crossing a small depression in the road. The body/frame had rusted where the two bolts that attached to the wheel assembly. The entire frame and body has rusted underneath the car.

The contact owns a 2006 Honda CR-V. The contact received notification and post cards regarding Takata Air bags recall and would like to be removed from the recall distribution list. The local dealer and manufacturer were contacted.
Driver side window does not operate
there was no accident yet!!!!The vsa and abs lights on my 2006 Cr-v came on upon starting and stayed on until the engine was stopped. This happened every time the car was started. the car ends up bucking on me. My Honda dealership diagnosed the problem to be a faulty abs modulator unit. The stated replacement cost is $2,400, including labor. I feel that this defect is essential in ensuring the overall safety of this car. The weight of the car is significant enough that an uncontrolled skid is much more likely to end in disaster than a skid that is stopped with the vsa and abs function working properly. Living in central PA, the abs and vsa functions are used frequently - especially in the winter. These key safety features were a top priority in my decision to buy this car. While the car's life expectancy is touted to be around 300,000 miles, it is unforgivable for such a significant safety function to fail at only 102,000 miles. I feel that Honda should recall these cars and replace the vsa modulator unit entirely at Honda's expense. And for those of us who have already paid for the repair - reimburse the full amount of the repair! the car without vsa and abs is not at all the same "as advertised" when sold new!.
The Vechile Stability Assist (VSA) light came on and took it too my Honda mechanic and confirmed that the Anti-lock Brake System(ABS) module needs to be replaced and this disabled the VSA. Parts+labor over $2,600+ to fix. Called the Manufacturer (Honda) and told me that I would have too first get it fixed and then submit the bill to them and they may reimburse me some of the cost or nothing. Since the ABS component controls brake and stability this a safety issue and therefore subject to a recall. I looked on the web and in the United Kingdom and Canada that Honda has paid in full. In the US, Honda doesn't consider it a defect and thus won't reimburse the owner's for fixing the vehicle. Once again because this an safety issue I believe that Honda should recall these vehicles and cost should be covered by Honda
Both cigarette outlets have stopped working causing long trips dangerous due to not being able to charge cellular phones
Every few months one of my low beam headlamps goes out, and I replace it to stay in compliance with local traffic laws. Within the last week, both low beam headlights went out, and both sockets show burn damage that is similar to the issue reported in NHTSA recall: 04V086000. I am concerned that even if I replace both the lights and the sockets, there may be something else going on that could cause a fire. I'd like NHTSA to look into this please. Thank you
The contact owns a 2006 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that the driver's door and trunk locks failed to operate as needed. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
About 4 months ago I discovered that the electric operator on the front passenger window no longer worked. I recently had a mechanic try to repair it and he found that the motor worked well. He replaced the switches in both the passenger door and the driver's door but window only goes down and not up. The mechanic checked online and discovered that this vehicle model was recalled in December, 2020, for this problem. When I checked on getting my vehicle repaired through the recall, I discovered that my specific vehicle was not included in the recall. Because I am now aware of the risk of fire, I request that my vehicle be included in the recall so I can have it repaired. Thanks for your consideration of this request.
Driver side power window will not open. Dangerous because if I am pulled over I can not roll down my window to speak with police. I’ve also seen reports of electrical fires associated with this issue. The issue has not been inspected by 3rd parties.
A sharp sound and thug
Low-beam headlight bulb repeatedly fails in 2006 Honda CR-V, more often on the driver’s side, requiring replacement two to three times per year. This has occurred since the car was purchased in 2011 over ten years ago. Recall is needed for this common problem.
My car gets up to 2500 rpms and the check engine light comes on and the VSA warning light as well. The car jerks hard and the engine stutters and won't hardly go. it's done this to me twice and I had the ecu reset. The diagnostic comes up as the vsa system modulator. I have had my 6 and 9 year old granddaughters in the car with me. If I had been on the interstate in heavy traffic taking them to their doctor appointments, we would have been killed. The third time this thing went out I had to pull into the shoulder of the road to avoid being hit. I believe Honda knows about this problem and they should be made to replace the part for free. This is a major safety hazard and the part runs almost $2000 without the labor. I believe they want to drag their feet and not recall this part because it's so expensive. I don't want to die in my car and I can't afford to buy another one. Thanks.
The transmission is making a loud noise (whining noise) and it could fail at any moment while I'm driving it. The car has 100,000 miles only.
DRIVER'S SIDE MASTER SWITCH FOR POWER WINDOW STOPPED WORKING. I BELIEVE IT IS DUE TO WATER DAMAGE/LEAKAGE THROUGH THE WINDOW INTO THE DOOR PANEL DUE TO FOGGING AT THE WINDOW CORNER WHEN VEHICLE GETS WET. THERE WAS A SIMILAR RECALL FOR THIS THAT WAS FIXED IN 2011 WITH A PREVIOUS OWNER BUT SEEMS TO BE RECURRING ISSUE AND IN LINE WITH CURRENT RECALL P9D. WHEN I SEARCH MY VEHICLE NO ACTIVE RECALLS POP UP BUT I BELIEVE MY VEHICLE SHOULD QUALIFY FOR THIS RECALL. THIS ISSUE IS OCCURRING WHILE STOPPED AND WHILE DRIVING.
RE: NHTSA RECALL NUMBER20V-768. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT IN ADVANCE WITH A LOCAL HONDA CAR DEALER TO TAKE CARE OF THIS RECALL ON MARCH 2ND 2021. I SHOWED UP TO THE APPT. AND THE CAR DEALER DID NOT HAVE THE SPARE PARTS AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL WORK. I THEN DEMANDED AN EXPLANATION TO THE HONDA SERVICE MANAGER AS TO WHY I WAS LET TO COME BY IF THEY WERE NOT READY TO TAKE CARE OF ME, THEY KNEW EXACTLY WHY I WAS COMING. I LIVE 1 HOUR AND 15 MIN AWAY FROM THE NEAREST DEALER SHOP. THE HONDA MANAGER, AFTER NOTICING I WAS NOT BUYING THEIR LAME EXCUSES, HE VERY RUDELY AND ABRUPTLY ASKED TO LEAVE THE PROPERTY. THIS PATHETIC EPISODE HAPPENED IN THE HONDA OF ARECIBO CAR DEALER, IN PUERTO RICO ON MARCH 2ND 2021. THE SAME DAY 3/2/2021 IN THE PM, I CALLED HONDA HOTLINE FOR CUSTOMER RELATIONS TO REPORT THIS ISSUE WITH THE CAR DEALER, THE DISRESPECTFUL MANNER THE DEALER MANAGER TREATED ME, AND ALSO TO SEEK HELP IN MAKING A NEW APPOINTMENT TO TAKE CARE OF THE RECALL AT A DIFFERENT CAR DEALER IN PUERTO RICO. A VERY POLITE HONDA REPRESENTATIVE ASSURED ME SOMEONE WILL BE CONTACTING ME IN THE FOLLOWING FEW DAYS TO RESCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT AND TO ENSURE THE CAR DEALER WOULD HAVE THE SPARE PARTS READY TO COMPLETE THE RECALL WORK. TODAY IS MAY 6TH 2021, AND I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM EITHER HONDA OR ANY LOCAL CAR DEALER. CLEARLY HONDA HAS NOT TAKEN THIS SERIOUSLY AND HAS ATTEMPT NOTHING TO WORK ON MY RECALL. I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO OR WHO ELSE TO CALL. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP MAKING HONDA COMPLETE THIS RECALL WORK IN AN EFFICIENT AND RESPECTFUL MANNER? THANK YOU FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE.
MY HONDA CRV 2006 HAS THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE RECALL. THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW SWITCH DOES NOT OPERATE AND I DO NOT SEE MY VIN NUMBER ON THE RECALL LIST. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE SAME PROBLEM SAME RECALL AND NOT ON THE RECALL LIST. I UNDERSTAND THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION AND MAY CAUSE A FIRE. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.
WHEN DRIVING THE BRAKES WILL SEIZE UP ESPECIALLY IN THE WINTER FOLLOWED BY A GRINDING SOUND. IT DID IT TWICE YESTERDAY(12/19/2020)WHILE DRIVING IN THE SNOW AND THE CAR WILL OFTEN SLIDE MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO STOP. I HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND ONCE WAS TOLD MY BRAKE LIKE IS PROBABLY FROZEN. THE CAR DEALERSHIP EVEN TOOK THE CONVERTER HEAT SHIELD OFF AS IT WAS DENTED AND THEY THOUGHT THAT MIGHT BE THE ISSUE. IT IS A SCARY SITUATION WHEN YOUR BRAKES DON'T WORK GOOD AND YOU CAN'T STOP. I HAVE CHANGED MY BRAKES ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT OCCASIONS BUT IT STILL DOES IT. LIGHTS HAVE BEEN FLICKERING AND THE CAR HAS EVEN SHUTOFF IN THE MIDDLE OF PARKING.
CAME TO COMPLETE STOP BREAKS GOT HARD STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP,WOULD NOT DISENGAGE UNTIL I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BREAK PEDAL MADE AN APPOINTMENT YUMA HONDA TO CHECK THE CAR,THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT.NEXT WENT OUT TEST DRIVE THE CAR.T WAS GOING ACROSS A CITY STREET FOUR LAIN ROAD, WHEN THE BEAKS GOT HAD AN THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT MOVE,I'M TAKING THE CAR IN AGAIN TO HAVE CHECKED
UPON STATIONARY IGNITION, DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR STARTED SMOKING AND CAUGHT FIRE, MELTING THE WIRING HARNESS, AND INTERIOR WINDOW MASTER SWITCH (AND COVER) AND THE WINDOW MOTOR. I PUSHED THE CAR AWAY FROM THE HOUSE. WE REMOVED THE DOOR PANEL AND HEARD A LOUD BAND AND FLAMES STARTED POURING OUT OF THE DOOR. I TOOK IT TO MARTIN HONDA DEALER TO BE REPAIRED. THE CHARGED ME 1800. TO REPLACE THE MELTED COMPONENTS, ALTHOUGH THEY DID NOT REPLACE THE MIRROR SWITCH, WHICH FAILED AS A RESULT OF THE FIRE. I FOUND A RECALL NUMBER 12V-486 DATED 10/4/2012. POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH, WHICH DESCRIBES EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED. I CONTACTED HONDA AND THEY OPENED A CASE AS I AM LOOKING FOR REIMBURSEMENT T AND ALSO TO HAVE THE ADDITIONAL REPAIR PERFORMED. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE RECALL HAD BEEN PREVIOUSLY PERFORMED ON THIS CAR. AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN???? NOW, I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE IT!
PROBLEM: HEADLIGHT BULB BLOWOUT AT ANY TIME; DRIVING OR STATIONARY. THE HEADLIGHTS ON THIS VEHICLE ACCORDING TO HONDA ARE DESIGNED TO RUN OFF THE BATTERY, NOT THE ALTERNATOR. IF THE BATTERY VOLTAGE DROPS SIGNIFICANTLY, THE CAR IS DESIGNED TO PUSH THE BATTERY VOLTAGE BACK UP. THIS CAUSES VOLTAGE SPIKES THAT BLOW OUT THE HEADLIGHT BULBS. THIS IS DESCRIBED ONLINE AT WWW.CARCOMPLAINTS.COM. FOR EXAMPLE: CR-V176,000 MILES PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM DOES NOT FUNCTION... HAVE REPLACED BULB EVERY FEW MONTHS FOR THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS, BUT THIS TIME (SINCE FEB. 2019) THERE IS NO RECOVERY. I HAVE REPLACED THE BULB, SOCKET AND CONNECTOR, CHECKED FUSES...HI BEAM AND PARKING/SIGNAL BULBS ALL FULLY FUNCTIONAL, BUT NO LOW BEAM ON PASSENGER SIDE. THIS IS A DANGEROUS AND WELL KNOWN DEFECT THAT A RECALL WAS ISSUED FOR IN THE 2005 MODELS. HONDA, IN CERTAIN MODEL YEARS, OF WHICH 2006 IS ONE, HAS SO FAR REFUSED TO OFFER REMEDY. THERE ARE MORE THAN ENOUGH INSTANCES OF THIS UNIQUE HAZARD TO JUSTIFY A RECALL, AND ONE IS LONG OVERDUE.- STOCKTON, CA, USA TAKATA RECALL LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT STOPS WORKING HEADLIGHT BULBS CONTINUE TO BLOW. THEN CAN BLOW AFTER A COUPLE OF MONTHS- MERCED, CA, USA CR-V 150,000 MILES HEADLIGHT BULBS CONTINUE TO BLOW. THEN CAN BLOW AFTER A COUPLE OF MONTHS OR A YEAR AFTER INSTALLATION. BUT THEY BLOW OFTEN ENOUGH THAT WHEN THEY GO, I IMMEDIATELY GO TO THE STORE TO BUY REPLACEMENTS. JUST THIS EVENING, I HAD A THE RIGHT SIDE GO WHEN I REPLACE THE LEFT SIDE JUST YESTERDAY. I FEAR THAT BOTH MAY GO AT THE SAME TIME WHEN MY WIFE OR I ARE BEHIND THE WHEEL WITH OUR INFANT IN THE BACKSEAT. THE BULBS HAVE BLOWN WHILE GOING DOWN THE ROAD, AS WELL AS WHEN PARKED. SINCE WE ACQUIRED THIS VEHICLE IN 2009, I HAVE REPLACED OVER A DOZEN BULBS. I HAVE ONLY RECENTLY STARTED SAVING RECEIPTS TO BETTER TRACK THIS ISSUE.- NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI, USA
I TOOK MY CRV IN FOR SERVICE AT SILKO HONDA IN RAYNHAM, MA. THEY DIAGNOSED A SHORT IN THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG INFLATOR. I BELIEVE THAT THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE COVERED BECAUSE THAT AIRBAG WAS REPLACED 2 YEARS AGO AS PART OF THE TAKATA RECALL. I AM DISAPPOINTED THAT THE WARRANTY FOR THIS PART IS ONLY 1 YEAR. I BELIEVE THAT HONDA SHOULD COVER THE REPAIR OF THIS SAFETY SENSITIVE ISSUE AS PART OF THE ONGOING ISSUES WITH ITS AIRBAGS.
HEADLIGHTS GO OUT EVERY 2-3 MONTHS SO CONSTANTLY CHANGING BULBS. VERY INCONVENIENT AND DANGEROUS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA CR-V. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL FOUR DOORS WERE UNABLE TO OPEN. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT OPENED A WINDOW AND INSERTED THE KEY TO TRY TO OPEN THE DOORS FROM OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE, BUT THE DOORS FAILED TO OPEN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SOMEONE ELSE WAS ABLE TO MANUALLY OPEN BOTH REAR DOORS OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AUTONATION HONDA (385 LOCATED AT 4030 HACKS CROSS RD, MEMPHIS, TN 38125, (901) 209-1308), BUT THE DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR SPECIFICS WERE UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 155,000.
THE VSA AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL FREQUENTLY COME ON AND THEN IF I TAKE THE VEHICLE OVER 2500 RPMS I WILL LOSE POWER AND THE ENGINE WILL STUTTER. THIS HAPPENS IN ANYTIME THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, WHETHER IT'S CITY STREETS OR HIGHWAY
NHTSA RECALL NUMBER: 12V-124 MFR CAMPAIGN ID: S33 CAMPAIGN DESCRIPTION: FRONT LOWER ARM WELD RECALL DATE: 03/22/2012 SUMMARY: HONDA IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2006 CR-V VEHICLES. THE WELD STRENGTH ATTACHING THE SUB-FRAME BUSHING COLLAR TO THE PASSENGER-SIDE FRONT LOWER ARM IS INSUFFICIENT. THE COLLAR CAN SEPARATE FROM THE ARM DUE TO VIBRATION WHILE DRIVING. SAFETY RISK: AS A RESULT, A LOSS OF STEERING CAN OCCUR, INCREASING THE RISK OF CRASH. REMEDY: HONDA WILL NOTIFY OWNERS, AND DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE PRODUCTION LOT STAMP ON THE PASSENGER-SIDE FRONT LOWER ARM AND, IF NECESSARY, REPLACE THE LOWER ARM, FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON OR ABOUT APRIL 17, 2012. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-800-999-1009. I HAVE HAD THIS PART BREAK ON MY 2006 HONDA CRV TWICE. THIS IS THE SAME PART THAT IS LISTED IN THE RECALL. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE MY VIN ADDED TO THE CAMPAIGN BECAUSE I AM WORRIED THAT IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN AND AFFECT THE SAFETY OF MY DRIVING. WHEN I TURN, I AM ABLE TO FEEL THE STEERING NOT AS STABLE AS IT SHOULD BE.
THIS CAR FAILED THE VA STATE INSPECTION DUE TO RECALLS. CAR IS NOW UNDRIVEABLE CAN NOT ACCELERATE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE VSA SENSOR ILLUMINATED AND THE ENGINE SUDDENLY BEGAN TO LOSE POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AND THE ENGINE WAS SHUT OFF. AFTER RESTARTING THE ENGINE, THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED ON ONE OTHER OCCASION. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER (LIA HONDA ENFIELD, 20 PALOMBA DR, ENFIELD, CT) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT BOTH HEADLIGHTS WERE FAULTY AND FAILED TO OPERATE, ESPECIALLY THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT. THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT WAS REPLACED, BUT IT WAS STILL INOPERABLE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND RECOMMENDED THAT THE CONTACT TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 178,000.
CAR BEGINS TO ACCELERATE WHEN IN PARK OR WHEN MY FOOT IS NOT ON THE ACCELERATOR. CAR ALSO READS SEVERAL CODES RELATING TO VSA, VTEC, ETC HOWEVER WHEN I BRING IT TO GET CHECKED, NEW CODES POP UP RELATING TO SIMILAR ISSUES.
PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM DOES NOT FUNCTION... HAVE REPLACED BULB EVERY FEW MONTHS FOR THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS, BUT THIS TIME (SINCE FEB. 2019) THERE IS NO RECOVERY. THERE ARE MORE THAN ENOUGH INSTANCES OF THIS UNIQUE HAZARD TO JUSTIFY A RECALL, AND ONE IS LONG OVERDUE.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW ON MY 2006 HONDA CRV WILL NOT OPEN DUE TO AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE OR SHORT. THE WINDOW MECHANISIM IS FROZEN AND DOES NOT WORK. THIS IS A POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD, AND I AM CONCERNED. I NOTICED THAT HONDA HAS ISSUED A RECALL FOR THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE AND FOR THE MODEL YEAR OF MY VEHICLE. HOWEVER, FOR SOME REASON, MY HONDA CRV IS NOT A PART OF THE RECALL. THIS MAKES NO SENSE SINCE I AM EXPERIENCING THE EXACT ISSUE WITH MY CRV THAT THE RECALL NOTICE INDICATED. I SHOULD BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS RECALL/REPAIR, AND I WOULD LIKE TO REQUEST AN INVESTIGATION.
ON 12/19/2018, AT APPROXIMATELY 1630, I WAS DRIVING ON I-76N; 60 MPH THE HOOD OF MY CAR FLEW UP, CRASHING INTO THE WINDSHIELD. FORTUNATELY, I WAS IN THE LH LANE AND WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE MEDIAN. MY WINDSHIELD WAS CRACKED. THE FORCE OF THE HIT WAS SO STRONG IT KNOCKED OFF THE REAR VIEW MIRROR. DAMAGE: HOOD, WINDSHIELD AND ROOF CAR WAS TOTALED
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA CR-V. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED WHILE IN PARK, IT ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING AND THE BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING VAROIUS SPEEDS, THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE SPARK PLUGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE HEADLIGHTS WERE REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED EVERY THREE WEEKS. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS HAVE STOPPED WORKING OVER SIX (6) TIMES IN TWO PLUS (2+) YEARS (CAR PURCHASED USED, 11/2015). SPENT A COUPLE HUNDRED DOLLARS ON REPLACEMENT BULBS; REPLACED THE HOUSING UNIT TO SEE IF THAT CORRECTED THE ISSUE AND IT WORKED FOR A FEW MONTHS; FINALLY IN APRIL 2018 WENT TO HALL HONDA (VIRGINIA BEACH, VA) TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE. THEY JUST SAID THE BULB WAS BAD AND REPLACED IT. I DRIVE WITH LIGHTS ON DURING THE DAY AND YESTERDAY (7/20/2018) I NOTICED THAT MY LIGHTS WEREN'T REFLECTING ON THE CARS IN FRONT OF ME WHILE DRIVING. ONCE PARKED, I CHECKED AND LOW BEAMS NOT OPERATIONAL, BUT HIGH BEAMS WORK. THIS MORNING I CALLED HALL HONDA AND HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TO GO IN TODAY (7/21/2018) AT 1:45 PM. I HAVE PRINTED OUT INFO FROM ONLINE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE. THERE WAS A RECALL, BUT IT ONLY WENT TO THE CAR YEAR 2005. THIS IS AN OBVIOUS SAFETY ISSUE SINCE HEADLIGHTS ARE NEEDED WHEN DRIVING IN RAIN (IT IS THE LAW HERE IN VA) OR WHEN IT IS DUSK/DARK. LISTING YESTERDAY AS THE DATE THIS HAPPENED, ALTHOUGH IT HAPPENED FIRST TO ME FEBRUARY 2016. I ALSO CHECKED OFF THE ELECTRICAL AND LIGHTING BOXES, SINCE I AM NOT QUALIFIED TO DETERMINE WHAT IS THE CAUSE OF THIS SAFETY ISSUE.
THE HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT THE DAY I BOUGHT MY VEHICE AND HAVE READ THAT THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR PREVIOUS YEARS BUT NOT THIS ONE. MANY VEHICLE OWNERS COMPLAIN OF REPLACING THEIR BULBS EVERY MONTH OR TWO AND SOME HAVE SAID THAT BOTH HAVE GONE OUT ON THEM DURING A LONG ROAD TRIP. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE! PLEASE ADDRESS THIS! I REALLY DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING FAR DISTANCES AND AT NIGHT.
VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED USED IN MAY 2018. THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT HAS BURNED OUT EVERY 4-7 WEEKS SINCE. NO SOLUTIONS FROM TWO DIFFERENT HONDA MECHANICS. HAVE READ MANY SIMILAR ACCOUNTS. HAVE TRIED H1 BULBS FROM DIFFERENT MANUFACTURERS, BATTERY WAS CHECKED FOR POWER SURGES, NO MOISTURE, NO REPORTED ACCIDENTS, RUBBER BOOTS IN PLACE, DIDN'T TOUCH THE BULBS, REPLACED THE 'SOCKET' WITH OEM PART, ETC. NO ONE HAS A SOLUTION. ABOUT 130,000 MILES WHEN FIRST TOOK PLACE DURING MY TIME SO FAR. SEEMS TO GO OUT WHEN DRIVING. BULB HAS SLIGHT BURN MARK ON IT AFTER GOING OUT.
