I RECEIVED A NOTICE MORE THAN 60 DAYS AGO STATING THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY CAR WITH REGARDS TO THE AIRBAGS. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD CALL WHEN THEY HAD THE PARTS. THEY NEVER DID. I CALLED AND GOT THE DRIVERS SIDE BAG FIXED, HOWEVER THEY DID NOT FIX THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. I AM A CARPOOL DRIVER AND I AM REQUIRED TO HAVE OVER 4 PEOPLE IN MY VEHICLE. SOMEONE HAS TO SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. I CALLED THE RECALL CENTER MULTIPLE TIMES AND WOULD BE TOLD THAT SOMEONE WOULD CALL ME. NO ONE HAS CALLED ME. I WAS TOLD A SUPERVISOR WOULD CALL ME AND THAT NEVER HAPPENED. HONDA SOLD ME AN INFERIOR PRODUCT AND THEY ARE NOT CONCERNED ABOUT MY FAMILY'S SAFETY.
THE TAKATA RECALL FOR MY CAR HAS TAKEN OVER 6 MONTHS NOW AND PROBABLY MORE SINCE THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. I WAS ALERTED OF THIS RECALL BACK IN MARCH 2016 AND IT CURRENTLY AUGUST 2016. I HAVE AN INFANT THAT COULD BE AFFECTED BY THIS ISSUE NOT TO MENTION MYSELF OR MY HUSBAND. I AM APPALLED AT THE LACK OF ATTENTION AND SERVICE BY THE HONDA CORPORATION. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.

IN JUNE, 2016, I CALLED ANDERSEN HONDA (PALO ALTO, CA) FOR REPAIR APPT, THEN THEY 'PLACED' THE PART ORDER. NOW IN OCTOBER, 2016. THERE IS STILL NO ETA ON WHEN THE AIRBAG PART IS AVAILABLE. THIS IS BEYOND THE 'REASONABLE PERIOD OF TIME (60 DAYS FOR REPAIR APPT). WHAT IS THE REASONABLE TIME FOR THE RECALL TO BE ADDRESSED?

TAKATA RECALL / I RECEIVED MY FIRST NOTICE ABOUT THIS AIRBAG RECALL IN MARCH 2016. THE REMEDY IS NOT YET AVAILABLE AND THE LOCAL HONDA DEALER ADVISES ME THAT THEY ARE BEING TOLD LATE FALL OR LATER. I AM NOT DRIVING THE CAR DUE TO THE RISK SEVERITY. I AM NOW ENCOUNTERING ANNUAL VEHICLE REGISTRATION HASSLES IF I DON'T COMPLETE THE SMOG CERTIFICATION AND REGISTRATION BY THE DEADLINE. TAKATA RECALL ATTEMPTS TO RESPOND TO RECALL, DESCRIBED ON THE OFFICIAL RECALL FROM HONDA MOTOR CO. IN EARLY SPRING 2016. HONDA STATED THAT REPLACEMENTS WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL MID-JUNE 2016. EACH TIME BEGINNING JULY 2016 THAT I ATTEMPTED TO SCHEDULE THE VEHICLE FOR IMMEDIATE REPLACEMENT, THIS MESSAGE APPEARED ON THE OFFICIAL HONDA RECALL WEB SITE AFTER ENTERING MY VIN NUMBER. THE MESSAGE WAS AS FOLLOWS: ""RECALL STATUS: RECALL INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE" THIS MESSAGE NEVER CHANGED AND AS OF NOV 16,2016, HONDA ADDED THE FOLLOWING: "IF THE MANUFACTURER HAS FAILED OR IS UNABLE TO REMEDY THIS SAFETY RECALL FOR YOUR VEHICLE IN A TIMELY MANNER, PLEASE CONTACT THE NHTSA VEHICLE SAFETY HOTLINE AT: 1-888-327-4236 OR TTY: 1-800-424-9153 OR FILE AN ONLINE COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA." THE ORIGINAL NOTIFICATION FROM HONDA, (AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST), INTIMATED THAT DUE TO THE REPLACEMENT AIRBAGS (NOT BEING AVAILABLE UNTIL EARLY SUMMER 2016), THAT OWNERS WHO WERE OVERLY CONCERNED OF DRIVING THEIR VEHICLE DURING THE NEXT FEW MONTHS, SHOULD CONTACT THEIR DEALER AND THEY WOULD ATTEMPT TO ACCOMMODATE THE OWNER. THE LETTER DID NOT LIST A SPECIFIC REMEDY. ATTACHMENT THIS IS GROSS NEGLIGENCE ON THE PART OF THE NHTSA!!
TAKATA RECALL AFTER IT BECAME CLEAR THAT OUR CAR WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, I CONTACTED OUR LOCAL DEALER (MANCHESTER HONDA, MANCHESTER, CT) ON FEBRUARY 9, 2016, TO SCHEDULE THE REQUISITE REPAIR. I WAS TOLD THAT THE REPLACEMENT INFLATORS WERE UNAVAILABLE, WITH NO TIMETABLE FOR ARRIVAL, AND THAT WE WOULD BE CONTACTED BY THE DEALERSHIP WHEN THE INFLATORS WERE RECEIVED. WE HAVE YET TO HEAR FROM THEM. FROM WHAT I CAN TELL, WE ARE IN THE RELATIVELY LOW-DANGER "ZONE C", BUT 14 MONTHS STILL SEEMS AN INORDINATELY LONG TIME TO WAIT FOR SO CRITICAL A SAFETY-RELATED REPAIR. BEYOND THAT, IT REMAINS UNCLEAR WHETHER BOTH FRONT AIRBAGS ARE TO RECEIVE NEW INFLATORS OR JUST THAT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THE DEALERSHIP REPRESENTATIVE TO WHOM I SPOKE SEEMED UNABLE TO EVEN UNDERSTAND THE QUESTION, LET ALONE ANSWER IT.

FOR THE PAST YEAR I HAVE BEEN CALLING THE WESTFIELD, MA HONDA DEALERSHIP TO SCHEDULE AND REPLACE MY DEFECTIVE AIR BAG. EACH OF THE CALLS I MADE WHERE IGNORED, I'M DRIVING A LOADED CAR WHICH MAY KILL ME. I WANT IT REPAIRED
ENGINE STALLS WHILE DRIVING TIME TO TIME. IT LASTS A FEW MINUTES. THE PROBLEM WAS REPORTED TO A DEALER AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR (NEW). HONDA DEALERS CANNOT FIND THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. RECENTLY I FOUND A YOUTUBE VIDEO THAT SHOWS THAT IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN HONDA AND THAT THE CAUSE IS A FAULTY IGNITION KEY PART. IF IT IS TRUE, THEN HONDA MUST RECALL IT TO FIX THE PROBLEM. IT MUST BE INVESTIGATED SINCE MANY HONDA CARS ARE REPORTED FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, BUT HONDA SEEMS NOT TO KNOW WHAT THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM IS.

THE ENGINE MAKES A RATTLING (GRINDING) NOISE DURING COLD STARTS. THE NOISE ONLY OCCURS WHEN THE WEATHER IS COLD <50 DEGREES F AND ONLY WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD. THE NOISE DOES NOT OCCUR WHEN THE WEATHER IS WARM AND THE ENGINE IS WARM. THE NOISE IS MOST LIKELY STEMMING FROM THE VTC ACTUATOR.
THE WARRANTY EXTENSION THAT WAS EXTENDED FOR "STICKING PISTON RINGS RESULTING IN HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION" WAS NOT A PROBLEM YET DURING THE 125,000 MILE MARK. A FEW MONTHS LATER OUR 2010 HONDA CRV STARTED NEEDING MUCH MORE OIL. EVER SINCE WE'VE NEEDED TO ADD OIL AT EVERY FUEL TANK FILL UP. PLEASE PUSH HONDA TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY TO TAKE CARE OF ITS CUSTOMERS. OUR CRV NOW HAS JUST OVER 180,000 MILES. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME WITH THIS.

THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND FAILED TO RESPOND. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V395000 (POWER TRAIN). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
