SHUDDER AT IDLE 2013 CRV. STARTING 80K MILES SOUNDS LIKE SAME COMPLAINT OF RECALLED 2015 CRV . ARE MOTOR MOUNTS SUPPOSED TO FAIL IN ALL OF THIS MODEL?
BATTERY ISSUE ,IT DIE WITH OUT NO RISEN ,THE THE TRIPLE AAA TEST [ CHARGING SYSTEM TEST] NO PROBLEM .IT HAPPEN SO MANY TIMES .WHAT CAN I DO?
TSB A15-086 DESCRIBES TRANSMISSION ISSUE OF VEHICLE WHEN SHIFTING BETWEEN 2 AND 3 GEARS UNDER LIGHT ACCELERATION. TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP IN 2/17 DEALER REPLACED FLUIDS WORKED SMOOTH FOR A WEEK AND STARTED AGAIN. DEALER CLAIMS THEY DID MULTI POINT INSPECTION BEFORE AND AFTER FLUID CHANGE. BUT ONLY DISCOVERED TORQUE CONVERTER ISSUE TODAY. WANTS 1500.00 TO REPLACE TORQUE CONVERTER SOFTWARE UPDATE AND FLUID REPLACEMENT WAS TEMPORARY FIN LASTED A WEEKING SHOWED TSB SAYS NOT PART OF ISSUE IS POSTED ALL OVER MULTIPLE HONDA FORUMS.
I'VE PREVIOUSLY REPORTED THE VTC ACTUATOR PROBLEM O THIS SITE AND AMERICAN HONDA WITH ZERO SATISFACTION. THE PROBLEM HAS CONTINUED AND I GET CONFLICTING INFORMATION FROM MY DEALER AND AMERICAN HONDA. THE ORIGINAL COMPLAINT NUMBER WAS 10783068. UPON RE-INQUIRING WITH AMERICAN HONDA THEY'VE INFORMED ME THAT THIS PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN ASSOCIATED WITH MY VIN WHICH AGAIN IS INCORRECT BASED ON DEALERSHIP FEEDBACK. HONDA HAS REFUSED TO PERMIT ME THE ABILITY TO SPEAK TO A CUSTOMER CARE SUPERIOR OR TO SHARE WITH ME THE ACTUAL RESOLUTION OF OTHER KNOWN VTC ACTUATOR PROBLEMS. PLEASE INVESTIGATE AND DETEREMINE EXACTLY WHY HONDA IS BEING PERMITTED TO IGNORE THIS KNOWN AND WIDESPREAD PROBLEM?
CAR WOULD NOT START AT HOME. UNSURE HOW IT MADE IT HOME. FOUND BATTERY HAD LEAKED AND COMPLETELY CORRODED THROUGH COPPER WIRE BRAID USED ON POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE INSTEAD OF A PROPER BATTERY POST CLAMP. LOST ALL CONNECTIVITY TO STARTER. CORROSION INFILTRATED WIRE TO STARTER. INTERNET SEARCH SHOWS NUMEROUS HONDA CUSTOMERS WITH DIFFERENT MODELS DATING BACK TO 2002 OR SO WITH SAME PROBLEM. DEALER PRICE OF WIRING HARNESS AT $800 PLUS LABOR AND BATTERY AT APPROX. $117. ADD POSSIBLE TOWING CHARGES, TOTAL COST TO FIX = $1,000 - $2,000. 1) BATTERY SHOULD LAST MORE THAN 3-4 YEARS 2) USE OF WIRE BRAID INSTEAD OF PROPER BATTERY POST CLAMP IS DESIGN FLAW APPEARS NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED. HONDA WEBSITE HAS NO FACILITY TO REGISTER COMPLAINTS ONLINE. CUSTOMER SERVICE PAGE FOR THAT PURPOSE DID NOT WORK.
THE VEHICLE VIBRATES/JUDDRS DURING 25-35 MPH WHEN LIGHTLY ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR A LONG TIME, BUT I WAS MADE TO NOTICE THIS BY A FRIEND RECENTLY.
ON MARCH 11, 2017, I WAS TRAVELING FROM FORT LAUDERDALE TO NAPLES FLORIDA ON INTERSTATE 75. I HAD THE CAR ON CRUISE CONTROL AND TRAVELING AROUND 70 MPH. I TOOK THE CAR OFF CRUISE CONTROL AND THEN PRESSED ON THE GAS WHEN THE CAR'S ENGINE DEACCELERATED THE CAR SEVERELY. I PRESSED AND LET OFF THE GAS PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES AS THE CAR CONTINUE TO DEACCELERATE AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WITH AN 18-WHEELER. A SIMILAR CIRCUMSTANCE HAS ALSO OCCURRED BUT AT 10-20 MPH WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A RED LIGHT AND NEEDING TO TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE GAS AND THEN PRESS DOWN ON THE GAS TO CONTINUE. THE ENGINE CONTINUES TO RUN BUT DOES NOT ACCELERATE THE CAR. IF THE HIGH SPEED CONDITION OCCURS AGAIN, I WILL NEED TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL TO STOP THE CAR'S ENGINE FROM SEVERELY DEACCELERATING THE CAR.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND SEVERAL OTHER WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON DASH. CAR HAS 77,806 MILES. DEALER SAID TIMING CHAIN IS STRETCHED. I HAVE HAD ALL RECOMMENDED MAINTENANCE PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE AND AM THE ONLY OWNER. SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID I SHOULD GET OIL CHANGES MORE OFTEN THAN RECOMMENDED. THIS SHOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED A NORMAL 'WEAR' ITEM AT THIS AGE/MILEAGE.
WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND SHIFTS FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR ANYWHERE BETWEEN 20-25MPH THERE IS A VIBRATION THAT APPEAR TO COME FROM THE TRANSMISSION. I HAVE VISITED THE DEALER SEVERAL TIME TRYING TO RESOLVE THIS MATTER. THE FIRST TIME THEY TOLD ME FLUID WAS NEEDED, THE SECOND THE TRANSMISSION FLUID, NEED TO BE CHANGED. THE 3RD TIME THEY NEEDED A CODE TO IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM, THE FORTH TIME THEY UPGRADES THE COMPUTER SYSTEM. ALL THESE CHANGES HAVE IMPROVED THE PROBLEM FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS ONLY. I REPORTED THIS PROBLEM TO COMPANY IN CALIFORNIA. THE PROBLEM STILL PRESENT.
HESITATION WHEN VEHICLE HAS COME TO SLOWDOWN AS IF TO STOP BUT GAS IS PRESSED TO CONTINUE, VEHICLE WILL HESITATE AS IF IT COMPLETELY LOSES ALL POWER FOR A FEW SECONDS, THEN IT WILL REGAIN POWER. THIS IF EXTREMELY FRIGHTENING WHEN TRAFFIC IS COMING. CAR IS IN MOTION WHEN THIS HAPPENS. IT HAPPENS OCCASIONALLY.
THERE IS A TSB OUT THAT SAYS THE FLUIDS NEED TO BE CHANGED AND A SOFTWARE UPDATE APPLIED. THE ORIGINAL SYMPTOM IS THE VEHICLE SHUDDER AT START OF ACCELERATION AND DURING SHIFTS BETWEEN 2ND AND 3RD. PAID FOR SERVICE STILL HAVE PROBLEM HONDA DEALER IN HOLLYWOOD FLORIDA 2 DAYS AFTER SERVICE STILL SAME PROBLEM. WENT BACK TO DEALER TELLS US ITS TORQUE CONVERTER BUT NOT COVERED. QUESTION IS WHY DIDN'T THEY TEST V DRIVE VEHICLE AFTER SERVICE WORK. BEEN TO SEVERAL DEALERSHIPS TO TEST DRIVE USED CRV BETWEEN MODEL TREAT 2012 TO 2014 ALL HAVE SAME ISSUES. CAR TRAVELS 80 PERCENT CITY STREETS ALONG SAME ROUTE PAST THIS HONDA DEALERSHIP 2 TIMES DAILY. CHECKED SEVERAL HONDA FORUMS AND VARIOUS YEARS ALL POSTING ISSUES DOES NOT MATTER IF LX EX EXL OR 2WD OR AND MODELS EVERYONE POSTS SANE ISSUES. HAVRE EVEN RETIRED DRIVING PINKY ECO MODE OR NORMAL MODE SAME ISSUE SO SOFTWARE UPDATE AND FLUID CHANGE RESOLVED NO ISSUES.
DOOR LOCKS ON 2013 HONDA CRV ARE NOT WORKING. SOMETIMES THEY WORK SOOOO WELL...I CAN'T EVEN UNLOCK THE DOOR !!!! AND SOMETIMES THEY DON'T WORK AT ALL. IN THE PROCESS OF REPLACING ACTUATORS,,,,HAVE REPLACED 4 OF 5 DOORS. EACH REPLACEMENT IS ABOUT $200-$250. I LEARNED THROUGH RESEARCH THAT RECALL WAS IN EFFECT FOR CRV FROM 2007-2011. OBVIOUSLY, HONDA HASN'T SOLVED THE PROBLEM.
THE AIRBAG/SEAT BELT RED RESTRAINT LIGHT WILL NOT GO OUT. THE NO SEAT BELT ALARM DOES NOT GO OFF. THE DOORS DO NOT LOCK WHEN THE CAR STARTS MOVING. THE SEAT BELT LIGHT ON THE DASH DOES NOT COME ON, ETC. BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER YESTERDAY AND THEY SAID THE WHOLE CONTROL PANEL HAS TO BE REPLACED FIRST BEFORE THEY CAN EVEN FIX ANYTHING! SOMETHING LIKE A $400 PART! SAID IT IS NOT COVERED AND THEY ARE GOING TO CONTACT HONDA ABOUT COVERING IT! ANOTHER SAFETY ISSUE! ON A 2013 CAR WITH ONLY 18,000 MILES ON IT!
A SQUIRREL ATE THROUGH MY WINDSHIELD WASHER HOSES. I GOT THE HOSES REPLACED, THEN 3 MONTHS LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN, AND I HAD TO REPLACE THEM AGAIN. ONE TIME I WAS MOVING WHEN I DISCOVERED I HAD NON-FUNCTIONING WASHERS, AND THE OTHER TIME IT WAS WHILE MY CAR WAS STATIONARY. THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST HONDA FOR THE SOY-BASED COATING HONDA USES, WHICH ATTRACTS RODENTS. THE HONDA SERVICE MANAGER PRETENDED HE KNEW NOTHING ABOUT THIS SITUATION, EVEN THOUGH HONDA MAKES A RODENT-DETERRENT TAPE FOR THIS VERY REASON. ALTHOUGH THE SAFETY FACTOR WAS MINIMAL DUE TO NEVER KNOWING WHETHER I HAVE FUNCTIONING WINDSHIELD WASHERS UNLESS I TEST THEM EACH TIME I TURN ON THE CAR, I HAVE READ ABOUT HONDA OWNERS WHO HAVE HAD RODENTS EAT THROUGH THEIR MAIN HARNESSES.
CAR PURCHASED BRAND NEW IN 2013. BROUGHT THE CAR FOR AN INSPECTION AT A LOCAL SHOP ON 1/7/17. 18,000 MILES ON THE CAR, WHICH IS MOSTLY GARAGED. SHOWN THAT BRAKES AND ROTORS WERE COMPLETELY RUSTED OUT AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED! HAD IT REPAIRED AT THE LOCAL SHOP. WE ARE IN POSSESSION OF THE WORN OUT BRAKES FOR EVIDENCE. NOTIFIED DEALER (DONALD MOOREHEAD AT MOOREHEAD HONDA IN NEWBURGH NY) AND THE HONDA CORPORATE OFFICE ON 1/9/17. GOT THE RUNAROUND. CASE NUMBER WITH HONDA IS #05592593 GIVEN BY KLIA.
DEFROSTER AND VENT HEAT DOES NOT HEAT PROPERLY ON THE DRIVERS SIDE, PASSENGER SIDE WORKS NORMALLY. LACK OF PROPER FUNCTION CAUSES WIND SHIELD TO FOG AND OBSTRUCT VISION. HONDA DEALER SAYS HEATER CORE IS PARTIALLY BLOCKED CAUSING THIS ISSUE. DEALER SAYS THERE IS A TECH BULLETIN ABOUT THIS ISSUE. THERE IS NOT A RECALL ON THIS MODEL, BUT IT IS A KNOW PROBLEM ON SOME CR-VS.
RE: TSB 14-063 THE HEATING/DEFROST SYSTEM IN MY HONDA WILL ONLY BLOW HOT AIR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THIS MAKES IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE AS I CANNOT KEEP MY WINDSHIELD CLEAR. I LIVE IN A COLD ENVIRONMENT AND COMMUTE. I ALSO CANNOT STAY WARM AS THE OPERATOR OF THE VEHICLE ESPECIALLY NOW (JANUARY) WE FREQUENTLY EXPERIENCE TEMPERATURES OF -8 OR LOWER. I HAVE ALSO LEARNED THAT THIS ISA COMMON HONDA PROBLEM AND HAS OCCURRED IN MY VEHICLE AT 40K MILES. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE THAT HONDA NEEDS TO RESOLVE. YESTERDAY WHILE DRIVING ONLY 60 MILES MY FEET BECAME SO COLD THEY BECAME NUMB AND MADE OPERATING THE VEHICLE DIFFICULT. *TR
PASSENGER SIDE HAS HEAT, WHILE NO HEAT ON DRIVER SIDE OF VEHICLE. THE 2013 HONDA CRV HAS LESS THAN 24K MILES AND IS ALREADY HAVING A PLUGGED/FAULTY HEATING CORE. THESE PROBLEMS SHOULD NOT BE MANIFESTING TILL MUCH LATER IN A CARS LIFE. THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IS THAT I LIVE IN A COOL STATE DURING THE WINTER AND THE WINDSHIELD IS FROSTING UP WHILE DRIVING CAUSING SIGNIFICANT VISIBILITY LOSS. *TR

2013 HONDA CR-V BLUETOOTH. RECIPIENT OF CALL HEARS LOUD NOISE AND CANNOT HEAR ME CLEARLY. I HEAR THEM CLEARLY. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN HAPPENING WITHIN THE LAST 3 YEARS. I WAS TOLD IT WAS A PROGRAMING PROBLEM. THAT SHOULD BE HONDA'S ISSUE. I AM UNABLE TO USE MY HANDS FREE DEVICE WHICH I SPECIFICALLY BOUGHT THE CAR FOR BECAUSE IT IS THE LAW THAT IT MUST BE USED. IT PUTS THE DRIVER WHO NEEDS TO USE THIS IN DANGER. THE DEALER NEEDS TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CHANGING OUT THE UNIT BUT APPEARS NOT TO LISTEN TO THE MANY PEOPLE WHO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. IT SHOULD BE FIXED BY A RECALL. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THEIR FAULTY SYSTEM.

DRIVER'S DOOR LOCK MAKES A LOUD RATTLE UPON LOCKING, SOUNDS LIKE A MACHINE GUN. REAR LEFT DOOR CAN ONLY BE MANUALLY LOCKED OR UNLOCKED, DOES NOT WORK WITH THE REMOTE OR WILL NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK AUTOMATICALLY.
LOUD, GRINDING SOUND UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, AFTER SITTING OVERNIGHT.
WIRING HARNESS WAS CHEWED BY RODENTS.EXPENSE WAS $1350. DEALER SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. SOLD ME RODENT TAPE FOR THE OTHER WIRES THAT WERE NOT REPLACED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HONDA CR-V. AFTER MAKING A RIGHT TURN IN A PARKING GARAGE, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO A WALL. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,000.
HONDA 2013 CRV WILL VIBRATE @ 25-35 MILE SPEED FEEL LIKE WHEN ITS SHIFTING TO 3RD ITS HAVING PROBLEM TO SWITCH GEARS FROM 2ND TO 3RD , ONCE ITS ABOVE OR CLOSE TO 40 MILE SPEED , ITS OK, RUNS GOOD. (ALL OILS AND SPARK PLUGS ARE CLEAN, ALSO ALL FILTERS).STARTED NOTICING THIS PROBLEM ON 10 08 16 AND ITS BEEN GRADUALLY MORE NOTICEABLE , EVERYDAY LITTLE BY LITTLE.

I WENT OUT SATURDAY MORNING STARTED THE CAR AND THE STEERING MALFUNCTION LIGHT WAS ON AND I HAD NO POWER STEERING (EPS). I CALLED THE DEALER THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T HELP UNTIL TUESDAY (MONDAY HOLIDAY) SO IT ISN'T FIXED YET.
AC COMPRESSOR , ALTERNATOR, BELT IS DEFECTIVE, REPLACED , (CAR HAVE JUST 41000 MI )
MY BACK RIGH DOOR DOES NOT OPEN FORM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE LOCKING MECHANISIM. I HAVE ALSO HAD ISSUES WITH THE BACK HATCH DOWN NOT LATCHING. SUDDNELY STARTIED HAPPENING. WAITIGN TO HEAR ABOUT MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. ITS SEEMS LIKE A SEFERY ISSUE TO ME, SINCE KIDS CANT EXIT THE CAR ON THE CORRECT SIDE AT SCHOOL. WERE RECALLS ON SAME ISSUE IN PREVIOUS YEARS.
ON MY 4TH BATTERY, THEY KEEP DYING LEAVING US STRANDED. SOFTWARE WAS UPDATED BY DEALER THERE IS A INTERNAL HONDA MEMO HOW TO RESOLVE BUT IT DID NOT WORK. NO CURRENT DRAIN THEY CHECKED. JUST TODAY WITH A 15 MONTH OLD BATTERY IT DIED AND YET AGAIN THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ONLY SOLUTION IS TO REPLACE BATTERY EACH YEAR. BAD DESIGN MY LOYALTY TO HONDA IS FADING FAST.
THIS VEHICLE HAS 24,000 MILES AND THE REAR STRUTS FAILED. BECAUSE OF THE STRUTS FAILURE THE VEHICLE BOUNCES AND DOES NOT RIDE NORMALLY.
UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. I PULLED INTO MY SON'S DRIVEWAY. WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKE THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED. IT WAS HEADING TOWARDS THE HOUSE AND CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AS I INCREASED PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE. I SWERVED ONTO THEIR LAWN; EVENTUALLY MAJOR FORCE ON THE BRAKE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO A STOP. I CHECKED THE FLOOR MAT; IT WAS ATTACHED FIRMLY TO THE FLOOR. I AM SURE I WAS ON THE RIGHT PEDAL; I FELT THE BRAKE AND THROTTLE "FIGHTING" EACH OTHER. IT'S THE CAR STOPPED AND IN PARK I TRIED TO SEE IF MY FOOT COULD DEPRESS BOTH PEDALS SIMULTANEOUSLY. THAT DID NOT SEEM POSSIBLE. THE INITIAL EVALUATION AT THE DEALER DID NOT REVEAL THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM

THE HEADLIGHTS ON THIS VEHICLE DO NOT PROVIDE ADEQUATE ILLUMINATION. WE ARE REVIEWING/CONSIDERING AFTERMARKET LIGHTING TO CORRECT THIS SITUATION. THE LOW BEAMS ONLY PROJECT ABOUT 10 FEET IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE (EVEN WITH THE DRIVING LIGHTS ON) AND THE HIGH BEAMS ARE VERY DIM AND OFFER VERY LITTLE LIGHT IMMEDIATELY IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. WHEN TURNING, THERE IS NOT ENOUGH LIGHT TO SAFELY SEE THE SIDE ROAD IF THERE ARE NO STREET LIGHTS. IN RURAL AREAS, THE DIM LIGHTS MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE WILDLIFE SUCH AS DEER SOON ENOUGH TO SAFELY AVOID THEM. MY CRV HAS BEEN RETURNED TO THE DEALER TWICE AND THEY WERE ABLE TO MAKE SOME ADJUSTMENTS TO TRY TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER HAS TOLD ME THAT CUSTOMERS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT POOR LIGHTING FOR MANY YEARS AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. I HAVE PURCHASED HIGH OUTPUT BULBS AND THE IMPROVEMENT HAS BEEN MINIMAL. I HAVE CALLED HONDA AND ASKED HOW I COULD OBTAIN THE BETTER HEADLIGHTS THAT ARE AVAILABLE IN EUROPE AND BEEN TOLD THAT I CANNOT. I HAVE ASKED IF DRIVING LIGHTS COULD BE LEFT ON WITH THE HIGH BEAMS AND TOLD NO. THE DEALER OFFERED TO INSTALL POST-MARKET NON-HONDA HEADLIGHTS FOR ME BUT HONDA TOLD ME THAT I WOULD VOID MY WARRANTY. HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE TOLD ME THAT SHE WAS NOT AWARE OF ANY HEADLIGHT COMPLAINTS HOWEVER MANY COMPLAINTS ARE READILY AVAILABLE ON THE INTERNET. SHE TOOK DOWN MY INFORMATION AND ENTERED IT INTO A COMPUTER AND I HAVE HEARD NOTHING BACK - THAT WAS A MONTH AGO. SOMETHING NEEDS DONE ABOUT THESE HEADLIGHTS - SOMEONE IS GOING TO BE SERIOUSLY INJURED AND OBVIOUSLY HONDA DOES NOT CARE. THIS SHOULD BE A SIMPLE FIX AS I KNOW THEY HAVE BETTER HEADLIGHTS FOR THIS VEHICLE IN THE EUROPEAN MARKET.
THE PASSENGER" AIR BAG IS OFF" ICON IS ON ALL THE TIME IN THE UPPER RIGHT HAND CORNER OF THE DASH. STAYS ON EVEN IF CAR IF NOT TURNED ON. ONLY HAVE 25,000 MILES ON THE CAR AND THERE ISN'T ANYONE SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. DOES NOT GO OFF IF SOMEONE IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. IS THIS A PROBLEM RELATED TO THE MASSIVE AIRBAG RECALL?
ENGINE IS RATTLING ON COLD STARTUPS MAINLY WHEN TEMP IS BELOW 40. TOOK VEHICLE TO HONDA DEALERSHIP AND HAD THE VTC ACTUATOR REPLACED BUT PROBLEM STILL EXISTS AND NOW THE ENGINE IS CONSUMING EXCESSIVE OIL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE GEAR SHIFTED FROM DRIVE TO NEUTRAL WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED. THE CONTACT DROVE HOME AND LATER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO ANOTHER LOCAL DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,787.
A LOUD GRINDING NOISE LASTING A FEW SECONDS AFTER INITIAL START UP AFTER CAR HAS BEEN SITTING, I.E., A 'COLD START.' MY HONDA 2013 CRV-EX-L HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM FROM DAY ONE, BRAND NEW! IT'S INTERMITTENT BUT HAPPENS USUALLY ON A COLD START. AFTER QUITE A FEW VISITS TO DEALER THEY ACT PERPLEXED AND NEVER CAN DUPLICATE THE CONDITION! IT ACTUALLY IS THE VTC (VARIABLE TIMING CONTROL). HONDA HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR SEVERAL YEARS ON VARIOUS MODELS OF THEIR VEHICLES, HAS NEVER FIXED THE PROBLEM NOR CONTACTED AFFECTED BUYERS BUT HAS CONTINUED TO BUILD AND SELL THESE VEHICLES WITH A KNOWN DEFECT WITH NO FIX! THEIR ENGINEERS ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, BUT OF COURSE THE SAME ENGINEERS SAY IT CAUSES "NO DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE!" SHAME ON HONDA, IT ONLY RUINED THEIR REPUTATION! PEOPLE STARE AT YOU AND ASK "WHAT IS THAT NOISE?" WHEN YOU EXPLAIN, IT PUTS HONDA AND THEIR VEHICLES IN A POOR POSITION I.E., LOSS OF REPUTATION AND SALES. I DID INTENSIVE INVESTIGATION ON MY OWN, JUST 'GOOGLE THE PROBLEM, AND YOU WILL BE TAKEN TO 'YOU TUBE' AND MANY OTHER SITES SHOWING THE PROBLEM. TAKE TO THE DEALER A VIDEO AND A COPY OF THE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THIS AND OTHER SITES! YOU MUST PROVE THE PROBLEM EXISTS!! I CALLED HONDA AMERICA 2 DAYS AGO TO COMPLAIN AND FOUND OUT HONDA JUST THIS YEAR, 2016, FINALLY CAME OUT WITH A 'FIX!' IT IS FOR THE VTC (VARIABLE TIMING CONTROL) . MY CAR FINALLY IS AT THE DEALER BEING REPAIRED. HONDA KNEW ALL ALONG OF THIS PROBLEM AT LEAST FROM 2012 THROUGH 2014 AND EVEN EARLIER MODELS! A RECALL SHOULD BE MANDATED TO MAKE THE REPAIR!! AGAIN SHAME ON HONDA, I PERSONALLY WILL NEVER BUY A HONDA AUTOMOBILE AGAIN. THE FRUSTRATION, EMBARRASSMENT, TIME RUNNING BACK AND FORTH TO THE DEALER, ETC. HAS WORN ME OUT!! THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,015.

THE SEAT BELT FAILED TO RESTRAIN THE CONTACT AND HER HEAD STRUCK THE STEERING WHEEL. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT RECEIVED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY DID NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE SEAT BELTS . THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,500.
I PURCHASED A CERTIFIED 2013 HONDA CRV 2 MONTHS AGO. I EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS WITH ACCELERATION AND CRUISE CONTROL IMMEDIATELY. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE BUT HE SAID THE TECHINICIAN TESTED AND FOUND NO ISSUES. SINCE THEN I HAVE RECORDED THAT THE PROBLEM CONSISTENTLY OCCURS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS ABOVE 50MPH. WHEN I INITIALLY TRY TO ACCELERATE FROM ABOUT 50MPH TO 60, THE CAR BARELY MOVES. IT FEELS AS IF I'M NOT PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR HARD ENOUGH. THE COMPUTER HAS DELAYED REACTION AND FINALLY DECIDES TO ACCELERATE. THE CAR LUNGES AHEAD AND ACCELERATES TOO FAST. THIS IS A DANGEROUS RESPONSE. ITS A GOOD THING I'M USUALLY ON OPEN ROAD WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENS WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL. I INCREASE THE CRUISE CONTROL TO GO FASTER, BUT IT DOESN'T CHANGE FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. THEN SUDDENLY IT KICKS IN. I'M GOING TO RETURN TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND REPORT IT AS A SAFETY RISK. WHEN I TRY TO CHANGE LANES, AND THEN CAN'T ACCELERATE TO KEEP PACE WITH TRAFFIC, I FEAR I WILL GET IN AN ACCIDENT. I'M GLAD TO KNOW THAT I'M NOT ALONE IN REGISTERING THIS TYPE OF COMPLAINT.
TWICE WHEN I TRIED TO STOP WHILE MOVING SLOWLY ON THE HIGHWAY THE CAR'S BRAKES FAILED TO DO SO. ONCE THEY WENT TO THE FLOOR. DEALER COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,967.
