I OWN A HONDA CR-V 2013 AWD WITH 60,000 MILES. I'M THE SECOND OWNER. I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM CARMAX IN 2016 WITH 27,000 MILES. AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS OF OWNING THE VEHICLE ONE MORNING I HEAR THIS LOUD GRINDING NOISE LASTING A FEW SECONDS AFTER INITIAL START UP OF VEHICLE WHEN STATIONARY. THIS SOUND HAS CONTINUED ON AND OFF AT ALL DIFFERENT TIMES OF THE DAY.
WHEN I SHIFT FROM PARKING TO REVERSE I HEAR A LOUD CLUNKING SOUND.
I HAVE HUM INSTALLED. I KEEP GETTING "ISSUES WITH BATTERY" . YOUR CAR MAY NOT START DUE TO LOSS OF CHARGE IN BATTERY. I AM DISABLED AND CANNOT AFFORD FOR THIS TO HAPPEN OUT OF THE CLEAR BLUE. THANK YOU I REALLY HAVE NO IDEA OF WHEN THIS OCURRED, BUT DID HAVE NEW BATTERY INSTALLED FOR $ 169.00 AT DEALERSHIP AND STILL GETTING WARNING FROM HUM.
HAVING THIS PROBLEM SINCE JUNE 2015. ALREADY HAVE PURCHASED TWO TENSIONER AND NOW 1 PULLEY. SINCE I HAVE GONE OVER THE WARRANTY IS OVER 12,000, I DRIVE 4K MILES A MONTH. I HAVE IT BACK TO THE SHOP STILL MAKING A STRANGE SOUND WHEN I TAKE OFF AND DRIVE BETWEEN 20-40 MPH. NOW BROUGHT IT BACK SAYING PRODUCT IS DEFECTIVE AGAIN. HOW MANY TIME IS THE PRODUCT GOING TO BE DEFECTIVE. WHATS REALLY HAPPENING
MY AIRBAG LIGHTS ARE ON AND I TOOK IT INTO HONDA. THEY GOT THE LIGHT TO GO OFF BUT IT CAME BACK ON AGAIN. THEY SAID I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE AIRBAGS??? I DO NOT UNDERSTAND, I HAVE OWNED HONDAS FOR A LONG TIME AND HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM? WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO REPLACE AIRBAGS WHEN THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN USED?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE POWER STEERING MALFUNCTIONED AND MADE THE STEERING WHEEL EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. THE STEERING WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THEN DIMMED ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,630. UPDATED 05/06/16*LJ *JS *TR
THE CAR MAKES A GRINIDING NOISE WHEN WE START IT. WE BOUGHT THE CAR IN DECEMBER OF 2015. ON 2/26/2016, I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER MECHANIC THAT HNDA IS AWARE OF THE SITUATION BUT HASNT FORMULATED A SOULTION. THE HONDA DEALER'S MECHANIC DID GIVE ME A GREAT DESRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM.
PURCHASED THE CAR USED FROM A HONDA DEALER, STILL UNDER THE 30,000 MILLAGE WARRANTY. TIMING CHAIN BEGAN SLIPPING AFTER A FEW MONTHS AS WEATHER GOT A BIT COLDER. BROUGHT IT IN AND THEY SAID 'THEY KNEW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS'. PICKED UP THE VEHICLE AND WITHIN A SHORT TIME THE NOISE CAME BACK AGAIN. THIS WENT ON. I GOOGLED AND FOUND THE THE TIMING CHAIN WAS A CHRONIC ISSUE IN THESE VEHICLES. FEELS LIKE ITS LOOSE. I BROUGHT IT INTO ANOTHER MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD ITS THE TIMING CHAIN AND SHOULD BE UNDER WARRANTY. CAN YOU HELP? LOTS OF THESE CARS ARE RECALLED BUT MY PARTICULAR VIN ISN'T ON THE LIST WHICH IS VERY PECULIAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING 28 MPH AND COMING TO A STOP, THE BRAKES FAILED AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP. THE CONTACT HAD TO DOWNSHIFT THE VEHICLE IN ORDER TO STOP. THIS FAILURE WAS A RECURRING ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,400.
AS LIKE OTHER REPORTS MY CAR HAS BEEN MAKING A LARGE RATTLING SOUND FOR YEARS AND IT'S GETTING WORSE AND FROM WHAT I'VE LOOKED UP IT CAN BE VERY BAD AND EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR AND HONDA NEEDS TO LOOK INTO WHY THIS IS HAPPENING TO OUR CARS AND DO A RECALL BECAUSE THIS SHOULD NOT BE OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO PAY FOR A DEFECT. I AM ASSUMING IT IS THE SAME VTC ACTUATOR THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND POSSIBLY THE TIMING CHAIN WHICH IS EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE.
MY CAR HAD LESS THAN 34,000 AND I WENT TO START IT AND IT WAS TOTALLY DEAD. IT WOULD NOT TAKE A JUMP, I HAD TO HAD IT TOWED AND IT TURNED OUT IT HAD A DEAD CELL AND I HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY. THE LAST CAR I HAD THE BATTERY WAS OVER 10 YEARS OLD. THIS CAR IS OVER 3 YEARS SO THERE WAS NO WARRANTY ON IT. JUST FEEL THIS SHOULD BE CHECKED INTO.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LATCH AND THE REAR HATCH FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNKNOWN.
1-TAKATA INFLATOR THE PASSAGE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF RANDOMLY. THIS DOES NOT MAKE ME FEEL COMFORTABLE. THERE'S A RECALL FOR CR-VS UP TO 2012 FOR THIS?? 2-START UP NOISE - AT LEAST ONCE A DAY WHEN I START UP MY CR-V IT DOES THIS VERY LOUD GRINDING SOUND. NOTE: DURING WINTER IT WAS EVERY TIME I STARTED THE CAR. THE NOISE DID NOT START UNTIL AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP THEY STATED ITS THE VALVE THAT'S A PART OF THE HEAD/TIMING CHAIN SYSTEM. I'VE DONE MY RESEARCH AND BOTH THESE PROBLEMS ARE VERY COMMON WITH HONDA CR-V.
THE WEATHER TURNED FRIGID AFTER A UNUSUAL WARM SPELL. AS WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WE STARTED TO GET SOME PRECIPITATION ON THE WIND SHIELD THAT THE DRIVERS SIDE DEFROSTER WAS UNABLE TO KEEP THE DRIVER SIDE WINDSHIELD SAFELY CLEAR. HAD TO PULL OVER SEVERAL TIMES TO MANUALLY CLEAR THE WINDSHIELD. ALSO THERE WAS VIRTUALLY NO HEAT ON THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER WE BOUGHT IT FROM NEW. THEY TOLD US THE DRIVER SIDE HEATER CORE WAS PLUGGED. I WAS ASTONISHED AS TO THE LOW MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE (15,659), AND IT BEING OUT OF WARRANTY BY 2 WEEKS. I BELIEVE THIS IS A DANGEROUS CONDITION BECAUSE OF THE RAPID RATE AT WHICH IT OCCURS. IMAGINE THIS HAPPENING EVERY 12-15K MILES. APPARENTLY AFTER SEARCHING ON LINE I FOUND THIS TO BE AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH CERTAIN 2012-2013 MODELS. HONDA ALSO HAS A BULLETIN OUT ON HOW TO TEMPORARILY REPAIR THIS DESIGN FLAW. (BULLETIN #14-063). I KNOW HEATER CORES CAN PLUG UP WITHOUT THE PROPER MAINTENANCE AND CONSIDERABLE MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE. THIS IN MY OPINION IS A SAFETY HAZARD DUE TO THE FEW MILES DRIVEN BEFORE THIS CAN OCCUR.
AT TIMES WHEN I AM TRURNING ON THE CAR I HEAR A GRINDING NOISE. I'M NOT SURE WHERE THIS NOISE IS COMEING FROM BUT IT'S LOUD AND SCRACHY GRINDY. SOMETIME IS COMES ON WHEN I FIRST START THE CAR IN THE MORNING, BUT YET SOMETIME IS DOSE THE SAME THING LATER ON IN THE DAY. SOME DAYS IT DOSE NOT DO THAT NOISE AT ALL, BUT SOME DAYS IT DOES IT A FEW TIMES IN THE DAY. I HAVE ASKED THE DEALER ABOUT IT BUT THEY DON'T KNOW WHY. THE FORM REQUIRES A DATE OF WHEN THIS HAPPENS, BUT THERE IS NO EXACT DATE THIS ISSUE HAPPENS WHENEVER NO WORNING AND NO REASON WHY IT SHOULD HAPPEN
WHEN GOING FROM 0-30 MPH THE CARE WILL SHUDDER / JUDDER. ONLY HAPPENS AT LOW SPEED LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS TRY TO CATCH. THIS STARTED VERY EARLY WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW. HONDA HAS TWO SERVICE BULLETIN'S (15-086 AND 17-040) THAT RECOGNIZE THIS ISSUE FOR 2013 CR-V'S BUT WON'T RECOGNIZE THE ISSUE FOR MY VIN #. COMMENTS FROM MANY HONDA DRIVERS IS THIS IS COMMON ACROSS ALL HONDA AUTOMOBILES WITH THE CVT FOR YEARS DATING VERY FAR BACK. HONDA SHOULD BACK UP THERE PRODUCT.
BOUGHT CAR FALL 2015 W/21000 MILES. FIRST VERY COLD DAY (BELOW 0 F), I NOTICED THE HEATING SYSTEM AS WELL AS DEFROST BARELY WORKED AFTER DRIVING 8 MILES ON A COUNTRY ROAD. THIS REPEATED ITSELF SEVERAL MORE TIMES BEFORE I DISCOVERED TSB 14-063 WHERE THEY DISCOVERED SAND HAD BEEN INADEQUATELY WASHED FROM THE BLOCKS AFTER THE CASTING PROCESS WAS COMPLETED. IT THEN SETTLED IN THE HEATER CORE BLOCKING THE SYSTEM FROM ADEQUATE DEFROST AND HEAT. MY DEALER APP'T WAS DISAPPOINTING IN THAT THEY ESSENTIALLY TOLD ME I WAS LYING AND NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE SYSTEM. THEY CLAIMED THE TEMP PROBES SHOWED A 1/10 DEGREE BETWEEN THE 2 VENTS - OF COURSE, I NEVER SAW THE RESULTS. MY WARRANTY EXPIRES IN LESS THAN A MONTH WHEN IT WILL THEN BE MY RESPONSIBILITY TO FLUSH IT MYSELF OR PAY THEM TO DO IT !! IT'S NOW SPRING SO I FEEL THAT WAITING FOR A RECALL COULD POSSIBLY PUT ME IN JEOPARDY AS VISIBILITY DURING COLD WEATHER WILL BE AND HAS BEEN AN ISSUE. I HAVE A COPY OF THE TSB AND SEE IT'S SUPPOSEDLY A 3 12 HR OBLIGATION, BUT THE FLAT RATE THEY SHOW IS 1.1 HOURS WHICH ENCOURAGES THEIR TECHS TO DO HAPHAZARD WORK. DEALER WAS BUERKLE HONDA, ST PAUL,MN AND MY APP'T WAS IN EARLY JANUARY 2016.
ON 11/30/15 OUR 2013 HONDA CRV WAS TAKEN TO FOX HONDA IN GRAND RAPIDS, MI TO HAVE THE DRIVER AIR BAG AND POWER LOCK RECALL REPAIRS PERFORMED. ON 12/15/15 MY DAUGHTER WAS TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH WHEN THE TRUCK IN FRONT OF HER SLAMMED ON IT'S BREAKS BUT THE TRAILER LIGHTS WERE NOT WORKING SO THE CRV SQUARELY IMPACTED THE REAR OF THE TRAILER WITH SIGNIFICANT FORCE. THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DEPLOYED BUT THE DRIVER AIRBAG DID NOT. THE RADIATOR, ENGINE AND FRAME WERE DAMAGED SO THE CAR WAS TOTALED. WE FILED COMPLAINT #04347205 WITH HONDA EXPLAINING THAT THE INSURANCE ADJUSTER AND THE BODY SHOP WORKERS BOTH BELIEVED THAT THE AIR BAG SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. AFTER MY 3RD CALL, THE HONDA REPRESENTATIVES WERE STILL TRYING TO TELL ME THAT THERE ARE SEPARATE SENSORS AND THERE ARE MANY REASONS WHY ONE AIR BAG COULD GO OFF AND NOT THE OTHER. I EXPLAINED THAT WHILE MY DAUGHTER WAS NOT BADLY INJURED, I AM CONCERNED THAT THERE COULD BE A BIGGER PROBLEM WITH THEIR AIR BAGS AND I WISHED THEY WOULD TAKE IT SERIOUSLY ENOUGH TO INSPECT THE CAR TO MAKE SURE SOMEONE ELSE ISN'T INJURED OR EVEN KILLED IF THERE IS A GENERAL DEFECT.
WENT TO 802 HONDA BERLIN VERMONT FOR 30,000MILE SERVICE THEY INFORMED ME I NEEDED REAR BRAKES,I SAID REPAIRE THEM.I HAVE OWNED TWO OTHEIR HONDA CRV. AN NEAVER REPLACED BRAKES BEFORE 45000 MILES.$439.21.

WHEN IT'S COLD OUTSIDE AND IF THE CAR HAS SET FOR MORE THAN A FEW HOURS, THE CAR MAKES A TERRIBLE RATTLING SOUND WHEN THE ENGINE STARTS.
I WAS STRUCK BY A DEER ON THE DRIVERS FRONT FENDER CAUSING EXTENSIVE DAMAGE AND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED BUT THE DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. I WAS TRAVELING AT A SPEED OF 55MPH GOING STRAIGHT AHEAD ON A STATE HIGHWAY WHEN THE DEER RAN INTO THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT END.
VIBRATION DURING ACCELERATION AT OR ABOVE 1500RPM
WE PURCHASED A 2013 HONDA CRV AND WOUND UP RETURNING THE VEHICLE THAT DAY WITH ONLY 20 MINUTES OF DRIVING THE CAR. WE WERE ON THE FREEWAY, MY HUSBAND WAS BEHIND US IN OUR OTHER CAR. I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 55 MILES PER HOUR WHEN THE GAS PEDAL BASICALLY LOST POWER. IT FELT AS IF THE RESISTANCE BEHIND THE PEDAL JUST DISAPPEARED (ACCELERATOR HESITANCY ALSO HAPPENED AT A LEFT TURN GOING 5 MPH). AT THAT MOMENT THE CAR LOST POWER...SEVERAL SECONDS LATER, THE PEDAL RESUMED ITS NORMAL FEEL AND POWER RESUMED...IT DID THIS 3 TIMES. RIGHT AT THE FIRST TIME IT DID THIS, I HEARD A TRIPLE CLICK (SOUNDED LIKE THE CLICKS YOU GET WHEN THE CAR DOES NOT TURN ON AFTER BATTERY DRAIN). SO, CLICK, CLICK, CLICK, LOSS OF POWER, POWER, LOSS OF POWER, POWER, LOSS OF POWER, POWER. I IMMEDIATELY GOT INTO THE RIGHT LANE THINKING THE CAR WAS GOING TO DIE ON ME AND EXPECTING TO HAVE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY. MY HUSBAND WATCHED THE WHOLE THING IN OUR TRUCK SO HE HAD A GOOD VIEW. HE SAW 3 EXPULSIONS OF BLUISH EXHAUST COME OUT OF THE EXHAUST PIPE AND SAW THE CAR SLOW DOWN AT EACH OF THE POWER LOSS EVENTS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND IT IS HAPPENING NO ONLY TO THIS CAR, BUT THE FORESTER AND RAV4 AND OTHERS. SERVICE WAS SO RELIANT ON THEIR COMPUTER READ OUT, WHICH SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG, THAT WE DID NOT HAVE FAITH THEY WOULD INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEM AND FIND A SOLUTION. SO WE CANCELLED THE SALE. IT IS ASHAME THAT THE NHTS HAS ONLY REQUIRED MAT CHANGES AS RECALLS. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A COMPUTER PROGRAMMING ERROR IN WHICH THE CAR COMPUTER (WHICH NOW CONTROLS THE GAS PEDAL RATHER THAN AN ACTUAL LINE GOING TO IT) IS TELLING THE CAR TO SLOW DOWN. AND THE FACT THAT THE COMPUTER DOES NOT RECORD A PROBLEM LIKELY IS FURTHER EVIDENCE OF A COMPUTER MALFUNCTION. THE AUTO INDUSTRY AND OUR OWN GOVERNMENT WATCHDOG IS MAKING OUR ROADS LESS SAFE. THIS ISSUE IS RAMPANT. CAR MATS, REALLY PEOPLE?
VERY LITTLE NIGHT DRIVING DONE AND 6 MOS. SPENT IN FLORIDA. DEFECTIVE LIGHTS DISCOVERED SOMETIME 2013. CAN ONLY SEE 20 FEET OF ROAD AT NIGHT WITHOUT USING HIGH BEAMS. VERY DANGEROUS DRIVING. DEALER SAID SPECS. OK AND REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING TO CORRECT. CALLED HONDA AND THEY RECOMMENDED TAKING TO ANOTHER DEALER STATING THEY HAD NO COMPLAINTS. SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ON LINE.
ENGINE GRINDING NOISE WHEN CROSSING UP AND DOWN STRUCTURES LIKE BRIDGES. ESPECIALLY ON HIGHWAY WHILE TAKING EXITS. AT A TIMES IT FEELS LIKE THE ENGINE IS ABOUT TO DIE. THIS GRINDING NOISE IS DISTURBING MY CONFIDENCE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE SAFELY.
VTC SPINS AFTER IGNITION STARTS: DEALER STATES THAT THIS PROBLEM IS NOT TO BE ADDRESSED PER HONDA MANUFACTURER POLICY.
MY MECHANIC FROM FOUR STARS AUTO CARE, LONG ISLAND, N.Y. HAD MENTIONED THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH MY CR-V 2013 TIMING CAMSHAFT WHICH IS CAUSING THE GRINDING SOUND WHEN I START THE CAR (THE MECHANIC SAYS THAT THE OIL HAS DRAINED FROM THE CAMSHAFT AND IS NOT LUBRICATED ' WHICH CAUSED THE GRINDING SOUND). USUALLY, THIS HAPPENS IF THE ENGINE HAS NOT BEEN STARTED FOR MORE THAN 3 OR 4 HOURS. I BELIEVE THIS IS THE VTC ACTUATOR IN THE CAR THAT IS MAKING A GRINDING SOUND. I JUST SPOKE TO A LADY 'NICOLE' FROM HONDA CITY, 3859 HEMPSTEAD TURNPIKE, LEVITTOWN, NY 11756 WHO ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE VTC ACTUATOR IN THE 2013 CR-VS BUT DOES NOT HAVE AN ANSWER WHEN HONDA WILL HAVE THE VTC REPLACEMENT. SHE SAID, 'HONDA IS WORKING ON A NEW VTC, BUT DOES NOT KNOW WHEN THEY WILL HAVE THEM AVAILABLE.' SHE ALSO SAID THAT, THEY STOPPED REPLACING THE CURRENT VTC MODEL AND THERE IS A DEFECT.' ALL I WANT TO KNOW IF THEY WILL STILL REPLACE THIS WHEN MY CAR GOES OUT OF WARRANTY IN A FEW THOUSAND MILES? I ALSO WANT TO KNOW IF THERE IS A LONG TERM EFFECT OF THE GRINDING NOISE TO THE CAMSHAFT OR THE ENGINE AND ALSO THE PASSERBY'S WHO LOOKED AT MY CR-V AFTER I START MY CAR. I AM GOING TO CONTACT HONDA DIRECTLY' I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH THE ANSWERS AND THE SERVICE. I WILL DEFINITELY NOT PURCHASE ANOTHER HONDA IF THERE IS SATISFACTION TO THIS SOLUTION.
I GOT INTO MY CAR AND BECAUSE THE WEATHER WAS NICE, I TURNED OFF THE AIR CONDITIONER AND LOWERED THE BACK WINDOWS. I ENTERED THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY, AND WHEN MY SPEED REACHED 40 MPH, A LOUD ROAR CAME FROM THE BACK OF THE CAR AND THE BACK STARTED SHAKING AND VIBRATING. I WAS SCARED AND PULLED OFF THE ROAD. I THOUGHT THE SUSPENSION OR THE WHEELS/TIRES HAD FAILED. I MADE A VISUAL INSPECTION AND COULD SEE NO PROBLEM. A HONDA DEALER WAS NEAR, SO I SLOWLY DROVE TO THEIR SERVICE BAY. WHEN I TOLD MY PROBLEM TO A WOMAN AT THE SERVICE DESK SHE IMMEDIATELY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS A COMPRESSION PROBLEM THAT ALL OF THESE VEHICLES HAD WHEN THE BACK WINDOWS WERE DOWN. BACK DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK. I ATTEMPTED MULTIPLE TIMES WITH THE KEY FOB, WHICH HAS BATTERIES AND UNLOCKED THE OTHER DOORS. I THEN TRIED TO UNLOCK IT BY PRESSING THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THAT DID NOT WORK EITHER. I CONTINUED TO TRY ALL THE OTHER DOORS UNLOCK BUTTONS WITH NO LUCK. I AM UNABLE TO USE THE BACK PORTION OF THE VEHICLE SEEING AS I CAN'T GET TO IT. THIS COULD POSE A SERIOUS ISSUE WITH EVERYDAY ACTIVITIES FROM PUTTING GROCERIES BACK THERE TO ACCESSING MY SPARE TIRE IF NEEDED.
THE REAR LIFTGATE AND REAR PASSENGER DOOR FAILED TO OPEN WHEN I USED THE REMOTE TO UNLOCK THE VEHICLE. THE REAR LIFTGATE DID OPEN AFTER THE THIRD TRY WITH THE REMOTE KEY FOB. THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR WILL NOT OPEN BY EITHER THE EXTERIOR OR INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE. I ENGAGED AND DISENGAGED THE REAR SEAT CHILD LOCK SEVERAL TIMES AND ATTEMPTED TO OPEN THE DOOR, THE DOOR STILL WILL NOT OPEN. UPDATED 09/15/15*LJ *CN
PREVIOUSLY REPORTED KNOWN HONDA PROBLEM WITH VTC ACTUATOR AT COLD START UP. NOTIFIED DEALER AND AMERICAN HONDA. APPEARS HONDA IS DRAGGING THEIR FEET REGARDING A RESOLUTION. AS THIS CAN AFFECT THE LONG TERM RELIABILITY OF THE POWER TRAIN THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.
2013 HONDA CRV SHAKES AT SPEED 30-45 MPH DURING ACCELERATION. SHAKES SOMETIMES GOES AWAY WHEN FOOT IS REMOVED MOMENTARILY AND GAS IS REAPPLIED. ALREADY MADE ATTEMPT TO HAVE ISSUE FIX AT DAYTONA HONDA DEALERSHIP, TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS FLUSHED AND FUEL INJECTORS CLEANED. SHAKING RETURNED AFTER A FEW WEEKS.
VTC ACTUATOR IS FAILING CAUSING A GRINDING SOUND WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE. HONDA HAS RECOGNIZED AND ADMITTED TO A DEFECTIVE PART. CONTINUED TO SELL CARS KNOWING THE PARTS WERE DEFECTIVE. 2014-2015 HONDAS HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. HONDA REPORTS IT IS NOT DOING DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE OR ANY COMPONENTS. THEY ARE OFFERING NO ASSISTANCE IN THE MATTER.
Transmission has a shake at 25-35 mph when accelerating. Fixed 1st time under warranty. Started again after warranty expired. Then happened a third time. Now they say I need to pay for a torque converter. Known issue from mechanics and complaints on internet.

THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AS AT ANY TIME THIS DEFECTIVE WELD CAN BECOME WORSE AND CAUSE THE RIM TO COLLAPSE AND TIRE TO BLOW. WOULD YOU WANT TO DRIVE THIS AT HIGH SPEEDS? HONDA IS AN ARROGANT COMPANY THAT NEEDS TO BE HUMBLED AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ITS PROBLEMS. ALSO, ON THIS VEHICLE THE COMPASS DOES NOT FUNCTION. YOU'LL BE DRIVING EAST AND THE COMPASS SAYS SW. AGAIN HONDA SAYS NOT THERE PROBLEM. LASTLY, THE DIGITAL MPG GAUGE IS MISLEADING AND HIGHLY INACCURATE. IT OVERESTIMATES THE REAL MPG AND MISLEADS CUSTOMERS TO BELIEVE THERE GETTING BETTER MILEAGE. CAR WOULD NOT START. WHEN THE KEY WAS TURNED, THE ENGINE CRANKED SLOWLY, THEN THE STARTER ONLY CLICKED. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN USED REGULARLY (20 MIN DRIVE TO AND FROM WORK) IN THE DAYS LEADING UP TO THE INCIDENT. CAR WAS JUMP STARTED WITH ANOTHER CAR AND IT STARTED UP PROPERLY. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER AND IT SEEMS THAT TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN FOR 2012 CR-V ALSO APPLIED TO THE 2013 CR-V -- TSB 12-041. HOWEVER, WHEN I HAD SEARCHED THE LIST OF SERVICE BULLETINS FOR THE 2013 CR-V, THE ISSUE DIDN'T COME UP ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE. I THINK THIS SERVICE BULLETIN SHOULD BE ISSUED FOR THE 2013 CR-V AS WELL.

A RODENT BUILT A NEST IN THE BLOWER MOTOR OF OUR 2013 HONDA CR-V. THE RODENT NEST AFFECTED THE OPERATION OF THE MOTOR, AND CAUSED RODENT CONTAMINATED AIR TO BE CIRCULATED THROUGHOUT THE CABIN. THIS HEALTH HAZARD COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED BY INSTALLING SCREENING THAT WOULD PREVENT RODENTS FROM ENTERING THE BLOWER MOTOR. ON 2/10/2014, AROUND 8:50 AM EST I WAS ALONE AND DRIVING TO THE OFFICE WHEN MY CAR SKIDDED AND I LOST CONTROL. DUE TO THE MOMENTUM THE CAR HAD GAINED, IT WENT INTO A FREE SPIN. THOUGH THIS CAR IS EQUIPPED WITH AWD AND ABS, IT STILL COULD NOT CORRECT THE SKID AND WENT OUT OF CONTROL. IT DASHED AGAINST A TREE ON THE PATHWAY FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE. THIS IMPACT RESULTED IN DRIVER SIDE AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY, HOWEVER IT EXPLODED INSTEAD OF INFLATING. THIS INCIDENT HAS RESULTED IN INJURIES TO MY HAND, NECK AND BACK. I HAD A TIRE THAT KEPT LOOSING AIR. THIS WENT ON FOR OVER A MONTH. WHEN I TOOK IT IN TO HAVE THE TIRE CHECKED FOR A PROBLEM. I HAD LEFT MY OFFICE ABOUT 10 MINUTES PRIOR TO PULLING INTO A SHOPPING CENTER AND WAS DRIVING ABOUT 5 MPH IN THE PARKING LOT, LOOKING FOR A PARKING SPACE. I SAW ONE AND SLOWED DOWN EVEN MORE TO BARELY MOVING, AND WAS EASING INTO THE PARKING SPACE WITH MY RIGHT FOOT ON THE BRAKE. JUST AS THE CAR STOPPED AND I WAS GETTING READY TO PUT IT INTO PARK, THE ENGINE SUDDENLY REVVED UP AND THE CAR JUMPED THE CURB AND HIT A TREE ABOUT 5 FEET IN FRONT OF THE PARKING SPACE AT FULL FORCE. IT WAS LIKE THE ACCELERATOR HAD BEEN PRESSED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I WAS TOTALLY STUNNED. THE ENTIRE FRONT OF THE CAR WAS SMASHED IN AND RADIATOR FLUID WAS COMING OUT OF THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR. IT HAPPENS IN VERY COLD WEATHER (FREEZING OR BELOW) , WHILE THE BRAKE IS ENGAGED. IT WAS IN THE LOW 30'S AT THE TIME AND MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE. LUCKILY, THE TREE STOPPED MY FORWARD MOTION, OR I WOULD HAVE ENDED UP DRIVING THRU THE PLATE GLASS WINDOW OF THE UPS STORE. OTHER DRIVERS HAVE NOT BEEN SO LUCKY - SOME HAVE BEEN TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL, OTHER CARS INVOLVED, OTHER PEOPLE INJURED. I AM ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIED OF DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AGAIN.
