DRIVING ON HIGHWAY STRAIGHT AHEAD, DAY TIME, GOOD WEATHER. FAILURE WARNING LIGHTS FOR, CRUISE CONTROL LANE DEPARTURE,COLLISION MITIGATION, BRAKING SYSTEM, PASS SEAT AIR BAG BRAKES, ALL CAME ON. THIS IS 6TH TIME THIS HAS OCCURRED. MOST LIGHTS RESET AFTER CAR WAS RESTARTED PASS SEAT AIR BAG LIGHT ONLY RESET AFTER ANOTHER HOUR AND ANOTHER RESTART OF VEHICLE
FRONT WIPER BLADES DON'T HAVE FULL RANGE OF MOTION. I NOTICED THIS AT ABOUT 35,000 MILES. I BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALER AT 40,000 MILES TO HAVE IT CHECKED. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED WORN GEAR TEEETH ON FRONT WIPER MOTOR, AND THAT IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. HONDA WILL ONLY PAY 50% OF THE REPAIR COST. WIPER MOTORS SHOULD NOT FAIL SO QUICKLY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM ACTIVATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ACTIVATION WAS DUE TO A METAL PLATE ON THE ROADWAY, WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STOP ABRUPTLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000.
WITH NO CARS AROUND ME AND NO OBSTRUCTIONS WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH ON THE FREEWAY BRAKES SLAMMED ON FOR NO REASON. I THEN TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY SAID NOTHINGS WRONG. I HAVE NOW TAKEN IT TO CERITTOS HONDA NUMEROUS TIMES BUT THEY SAY NOTHINGS WRONG BUT IT HAPPENED AGAIN TODAY.
WHILE DRIVING SLOWLY (APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH) ON A CITY STREET, THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING SYSTEM ENGAGED WHEN APPROACHING A RAILROAD CROSSING FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THE BRAKING FORCE WAS STRONG ENOUGH TO ENGAGE THE RESTRAINT OF THE SEAT BELTS.
I HAD PARKED MY CAR FOR 4 DAYS WHILE AWAY ON A BUSINESS TRIP. I CAME BACK AND THE CAR WAS TOTALLY DEAD. IT WOULDN'T START, I COULD NOT EVEN OPEN THE DOORS WITHOUT THE EMERGENCY KEY. I PURCHASED A CHARGER AND I SPENT SEVERAL HOURS CHARGING IT BACK UP BEFORE I COULD DRIVE AGAIN. I HAD THE PARKING BRAKE ON DUE TO THE FACT I HAD PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY WHICH HAD A MILD SLOPE TO IT. ONLINE RESEARCH INDICATED THIS WAS A RECURRING PROBLEM IN 2017S WHEN YOU APPLY PARKING BREAK. HONDA SERVICE BULLETIN 17-032. BUT NO RECALL AND I UNDERSTAND THAT DOESN'T ALWAYS FIX THE ELECTRICAL DRAIN ON THE SYSTEM. I ALREADY PURCHASED A BATTERY ONCE WHEN IT HAPPENED BEFORE AND I IGNORANTLY DIDN'T LOOK UP THE PROBLEM.
SHIFT KNOB BOTTON IS BROKEN. ONE PIECE FALLS OUT OF THE HOLE AND ANOTHER IS STUCKED INSIDE THE KNOB.
SRS LIGHT HAS COME ON AND DOESN'T TURN OFF - AT DEALERSHIP NOW TO GET FIXED
TOOK CRV INTO DEALER DUE TO ENGINE OIL SMELLING STRONG OF GASOLINE. WAS TOLD THEY LOOKED OVER THE CAR AND COULD NOT DETERMINED WHY AND THAT THE ODOR WAS NORMAL. WAS ALSO TOLD THIS IS NORMAL DUE TO HAVING A TURBO ENGINE YET TOLD MY VIN # FALLS INTO THE EFFECTED "OIL OVER FULL' ISSUE AND I HAVE AN EXTRA YEAR OF POWER TERRAIN WARRANTY. TO MY KNOWLEDGE, OIL LEVEL WAS ONLY SLIGHTLY ELEVATED. NOTHING WAS DONE TO REMEDY THE ISSUE, NO SERVICE BULLETIN OR OIL CHANGE. CRV ONLY HAS 19500 MILES. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR RUNNING ISSUES. ENGINE OIL APPEARS DIRTY YET ONBOARD SYSTEM STATES THAT OIL LIFE IS AT 50%.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA CR-V. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE OUT OF PARK, THE BUTTON ON THE GEAR SHIFTER POPPED OUT. THE CONTACT HAD TO USE A HOUSE KEY TO REACH INSIDE THE KNOB AND MOVE THE GEAR INTO NEUTRAL. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO RICHARDS HONDA (13413 MILLERSVILLE GREEN BLVD, BATON ROUGE, LA 70816) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SHIFTER KNOB NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
Bad Fuel Injectors at 60,000 Miles Caused all dash lights to go on Car went into Limp mode
TWICE NOW THE CAR WHEN IN LANE DEPARTURE HAS SLAMMED ON THE BREAKS. YESTERDAY THERE WAS A CAR BEHIND ME WHO HAD TO SWERVE TO AVOID REAR ENDING ME. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO HONDA AND THEY BASICALLY WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE ME. ELECTRONICALY THERE ARE OTHER ISSUES THE SCREEN GOES BLACK AND FLASHES CONSISTENTLY AND ONLY WILL RESOLVE WHEN I TURN THE CAR OFF AND RESTART. THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE SO I AM NOW WITHOUT A CAR.
I JUST PULLED INTO MY GARAGE AND COULD NOT MOVE THE SHIFTER. THE BUTTON ON THE SIDE OF THE SHIFTER WOULDN'T GO IN AT ALL. KEPT TRYING AND THE BLACK PIECE TO PUSH IN JUST CAME OUT IN MY HAND. IT LOOKED LIKE IT HAD BROKEN OFF DOWN INSIDE THE SHIFTER. I PUSHED IT BACK IN AND PUT IN PARK. TAKING IN THE MORNING TO HONDA DEALER
WHILE DIVING RANDOMLY AT HIGH SPEEDS (60+ MPH) AND WHILE TURNING IN VERY GOOD WEATHER ALL WARNING LIGHTS LIGHT UP (I HAVE A VIDEO) AND THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER. THIS HAS HAPPENED A NUMBER OF TIMES ON THE HIGHWAYS AND A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. I HAD TO PULL OUT OF THE HIGHWAY STOP AND RESTART FOR THE VEHICLE TO REGAIN POWER BUT THE WARNING LIGHTS CONTINUE TO BE LIT. AFTER A COUPLE OF START AND STOP IT DISAPPEARS. IT IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AND I HAVE BEEN LUCKY SO FAR. I HAVE APPROACHED THE DEALERSHIP THRICE ABOUT THE ISSUE AND THEY HAVE REPLACED 2 SENSORS AND UPDATED THE SOFTWARE BUT THE ISSUE PERSISTS.
IN SLOW MOVING TRAFFIC IN FRONT OF THE LOCAL MALL, MY SUNROOF EXPLODED THERE WAS NO COLLISION, NO OBJECT THROWN OR DROPPED INTO THE WINDOW. HONDA REFUSED TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHAT I LEARNED FROM RESEARCH ON LINE, WHICH IS THAT THIS IS AN EPIDEMIC INVOLVING SHATTERED SUN ROOFS.
2017 HONDA CRV- EX / STALLING ON FREEWAY VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER ' [XXX] ON MAY 29, 2018, MY CAR WHICH HAS 16,0000 MILES ON IT, STARTED MAKING A HORRIBLE ENGINE NOISE, CYLINDERS MISFIRING, LOSS OF POWER AND STALLED WHILE ON THE 405 FREEWAY, I BEGAN TO PANIC DUE TO FACT I WAS IN THE FAST LANE. I STARTED TO SMELL GAS IN THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT WHILE CARS ARE STREAMING TO HALT TO AVOID A MULTI CAR PILEUP. I DIDN'T KNOW WHETHER TO GET OUT OF THE CAR OR STAY IN, THAT'S WHEN I SAW AN 18 WHEELER BARRELING TOWARDS ME TRYING TO STOP. THIS TRUCK CAME 2 FEET FROM REAR ENDING ME. I WAS TO SHAKEN TO SPEAK FOR 5 MINUTES BECAUSE MY LIFE FLASHES IN FRONT OF ME. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND HONDA SHOULD CONDUCT AN OFFICIAL RECALL. DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO DIE BEFORE A RECALL TAKE PLACE? HONDA'S MANAGER OF RECALLS, BRAD ORTLOFF, SAID OIL IN THESE ENGINES COULD BE DILUTED BECAUSE OF SOFTWARE SETTINGS OR POTENTIAL HARDWARE FAILURES. SOME VEHICLES COULD EXPERIENCE A LOSS OF POWER, LEADING TO CYLINDER MISFIRES OR ENGINE NOISE. IN ADDITION TO THOSE SYMPTOMS, CONSUMERS HAVE REPORTED THAT THEIR ENGINES STALLED OR THAT THE VEHICLES EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER, RAISING SAFETY CONCERNS. DURING THE PAST 6 MONTHS I'VE BEEN HAVING THE FOLLOWING PROBLEMS WITH MY VEHICLE ' OIL DILUTION, RISING OIL LEVELS, STALLING AND LOSS OF POWER AND STALLING. I UNDERSTAND THAT HONDA MOTOR COMPANY, LTD HAS RECALLED 350,000 HONDA CRV'S IN CHINA & CANADA BECAUSE OF THE SAME PROBLEM. I WOULD LIKE HONDA TO BUY BACK MY VEHICLE DUE TO RISING SAFETY ISSUES. WHILE PLACING CAR INTO PARK SHIFTER BUTTON BROKE OUT.
THE BUTTON ON THE GEAR SHIFT HAS BROKEN OFF. THE CAR CANNOT BE PUT INTO GEAR OR GEARS CHANGED WITHOUT A TOOL INSERTED TO PUSH INTERNAL BUTTON. IT WAS STATIONARY WHEN IT FELL OFF, BUT I WAS NOT ABLE TO GET THE CAR INTO GEAR.

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONED AND THE VEHICLE SPONTANEOUSLY STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD FOR A FEW SECONDS. AFTERWARDS, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED DRIVING NORMALLY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED TWO OTHER TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ADVANTAGE HONDA (1260 NORTHERN BLVD, MANHASSET, NY 11030), BUT THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 095901. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED AND WAS TRADED IN FOR ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000.
USING THE ELECTRONIC EMERGENCY BRAKE DRAINS THE BATTERY TO DEAD. THIS HAPPENED WITHIN TWO MONTHS OF NEW AND I HAVE STOPPED USING IT. NOW THE INFOTAINMENT SCREEN IS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY FOR THE RADIO. PARTIAL DISPLAY WITH SOUND AND WITHOUT SOUND AFTER NUMEROUS REBOOTS.
AS I WAS PARKED AND PUT THE CAR INTO REVERSE THE GEAR SHIFT KNOB BROKE OFF AND I HAVING A DIFFICULT TIME SHIFTING INTO GEAR BECAUSE SHIFT KNOB IS NO LONGER ATTACHED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 40-45 MPH UP A SMALL HILL, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND FAILED TO MOVE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE RODE ROUGHLY AND SOUNDED AS IF IT HAD A DIESEL ENGINE. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME. WHEN THE OIL WAS CHECKED WITH THE DIPSTICK, IT WAS OVER THE ORANGE INDICATOR LINE ONTO THE METAL AND THERE WAS AN ODOR OF FUEL. THE CONTACT CALLED DCH HONDA OF TEMECULA (LOCATED AT 26755 YNEZ RD, TEMECULA, CA 92591, (951) 268-9197) AND WAS ADVISED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THEIR FACILITY. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETECT THE PRESENCE OF FUEL IN THE OIL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN SHE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE A FEW WEEKS AGO, THE DEALER CHANGED THE OIL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN AT THE DEALER ALMOST TWO WEEKS AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD SPEAK WITH THE DEALER. IF THE FAILURE RECURRED, THE CONTACT WAS INSTRUCTED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.
WHEN TURNING SHARP THE REAR END MAKES A GRINDING SOUND AND WILL JERK. I BELIEVE THIS IS THE DIFFERENTIAL GRINDING. WAS TOLD IT JUST NEEDED SERVICED AT 17,000. I DID THIS AND PROBLEM WAS NOT FIXED.
SINCE PURCHASING THE CAR TWO YEARS AGO, THE OIL LEVEL HAS INCREASED AND SMELLS OF GASOLINE, AND THE CABIN HAS ALSO ON OCCASION SMELLED OF GASOLINE. I COMPLAINED TO THE DEALERSHIP WITHIN THE FIRST WEEK OF OWNING THE CAR, TO NO AVAIL. I HAVE COMPLAINED EACH TIME I'VE BROUGHT IT IN FOR SERVICING, TO NO AVAIL. I COMPLAINED TO THE GENERAL MANAGER OF THE DEALERSHIP, WHO SAID HE'D NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A PROBLEM, WHEN I HAD THE CAR SERVICED ON 5/14/19 (WHICH INCLUDED AN OIL CHANGE). A WEEK LATER I CHECKED THE OIL 'SURE ENOUGH, THE LEVEL HAS RISEN AND IT SMELLS OF GASOLINE. I HAVE GRAVE CONCERNS: FOR MY HEALTH AND SAFETY DUE TO THE OIL DILUTION PROBLEM. I PRIMARILY DRIVE SHORT DISTANCES, WHICH I UNDERSTAND INCREASES THE LIKELIHOOD OF OIL DILUTION IN THE 1.5 TURBO ENGINE.
I WAS TRAVELING AT A SLOW SPEED AND STOPPED TO LET A VEHICLE PASS ON A NARROW SIDE STREET AND THEN PULLED OVER TO LET ANOTHER VEHICLE PASS. WHEN I PULLED OVER THE CAR ACCELERATED AND COULD NOT BE STOPPED WITH THE BRAKES. I WAS ABLE TO YANK THE CAR OUR OF GEAR LEAVING THE ENGINE RACING AND THEN JUST AS QUICKLY IT SLOWED TO AN IDLE.
COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM. SEVERAL TIMES THE CAR HAS HIT THE BRAKES WITH ABSOLUTELY NO OBSTACLE IN FRONT OF THE CAR. I DID CALL HONDA AND WAS TOLD TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER TO ADJUST. THE REP I SPOKE TO GAVE ME A LECTURE ABOUT IT BEING A SAFETY FEATURE THAT WE HAVE TO GET USED TO!!! HE ALSO SUGGESTED THAT I MAY HAVE THE SETTING SET TO "SHORT." I DID CHECK IT WAS SET TO "NORMAL" I CHANGED IT TO "LONG.". IT HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES SINCE THEN. ONCE JUST THE AUDIBLE WARNING AND TWICE IT LITERALLY SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES AND STOPPED THE CAR - EVERYTHING THAT WAS LOOSE WAS FLYING AROUND. I HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY FORTUNATE THAT EVERYTIME (5 INSTANCES SINCE I GOT THE CAR IN DEC 2017 - 4 TIMES ON CITY STREETS AND ONCE ON THE HIGHWAY) IT HAS SLAMMED THE BRAKES FOR NO REASON, THERE WAS NONE BEHIND ME. IF THERE WAS SOMEONE BEHIND ME, THEY WOULD HAVE HIT ME. I KNOW THAT IF I WAS DRIVING BEHIND SOMEONE WHO LITERALLY BROUGHT THE CAR TO AM IMMEDIATE STOP, I WOULD HAVE HIT THEM. ONE OF THESE DAYS I AM GOING TO GET HIT.
SHIFT HANDLE BUTTON BROKE AND FAIL OUT OF SHIFTER.
EVERY INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON AND FLASHED ON MY DASHBOARD WHEN I WAS DRIVING, AS WELL AS A CRUISE CONTROL MALFUNCTION WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, CAUSING THE SYSTEM TO SHUT OFF CRUISE CONTROL. THE INDICATOR LIGHTS THAT FLASH ON THE DASHBOARD WHEN THIS ERROR OCCURS ARE AS FOLLOWS: BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM ALL WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM PROBLEM TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR PROBLEM ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE PROBLEM ROAD DEPARTURE MITIGATION SYSTEM PROBLEM COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM PROBLEM LANE KEEPING ASSIST PROBLEM ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL PROBLEM HILL START ASSIST PROBLEM VEHICLE STABILITY ASSIST (VSA) PROBLEM ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM POWER STEERING SYSTEM (EPS) PROBLEM I HAVE HAD THESE LIGHTS GO OFF MULTIPLE TIMES IN DIFFERENT CONTEXTS. THE FIRST TIME I WAS IN A PARKING LOT AND TURNED ON MY CAR AND ALL INDICATOR LIGHTS CAME ON, THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON THE ROAD, THE THIRD TIME I WAS PARKING MY VEHICLE AND THEN THE INDICATOR LIGHTS CAME ON. I HAVE BROUGHT MY CAR TO MY HONDA DEALER THREE DIFFERENT TIMES WITH NO SOLUTION. EACH TIME, EVENTUALLY THE INDICATOR LIGHTS GO OFF, USUALLY AFTER STARTING AND RESTARTING THE CAR OR REBOOTING THE COMPUTER CAUSES THEM TO TURN OFF.
DISPLAY CONSOLE BECOMES ERRATIC SHOWING DIFFERENT SCREENS, USUALLY STARTING FIRST WITH BRIGHTNESS LEVEL INDICATOR, AND THEN MOVING INTO DIFFERENT SCREENS. THE RATE THE SCREEN CHANGES INCREASES WITH TIME. DEALER STATED PREVIOUSLY THAT HONDA IS AWARE OF ISSUE AND THAT IT NEEDED A SOFTWARE UPDATE WHICH WAS IN BETA TESTING. THE INCIDENT RATE FOR THIS TO HAPPEN IS INCREASING. MY SECOND TRIP TO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY (I THINK A YEAR LATER) AND THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE A FIX. TO STOP THE CASCADE, YOU HAVE TO STOP THE CAR AND TURN IT OFF. IT IS A SIGNIFICANT DISTRACTION WHEN DRIVING AND IS UNPREDICTABLE. HAVE ALSO NOTED LANE DEPARTURE SYSTEM WILL ENGAGE AT ODD TIMES (NO ACTUAL LANE DEPARTURE OR IDENTIFIABLE ROAD ISSUES). THE MAIN DASH DISPLAY FAILED TO BOOT ON START UP RECENTLY. THE GEAR KNOB HAS HAD TO BE REPLACED WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR.
I'VE BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP 5 TIMES NOW FOR THE SAME ISSUES: ROAD DEPARTURE MITIGATION SYSTEM FAILURE, ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL PROBLEM, COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM PROBLEM. I HAVE ALSO BEEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND WITH NO ONE IN FRONT OF ME, THE CAR WILL BEEP, FLASH BRAKE, AND THEN THE BRAKE SYSTEM WILL ACTIVATE. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE SEAT BELTS LOCK UP FROM THE SUDDEN BRAKING. I WAS TOLD THERE IS AN UPDATE, AND THEY INSTALLED IT, SUPPOSEDLY, AND THE PROBLEM SHOULD BE FIXED. I AM STILL HAVING ALL THESE PROBLEMS, AND I AM NOW BEING TOLD THERE IS A SOFTWARE UPDATE THAT IS COMING OUT NEXT MONTH. LET ME REITERATE THAT WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE VEHICLE WILL RANDOMLY BRAKE WITH NO ONE IN FRONT OF ME. I ALSO HAD MY GEAR SHIFTER BUTTON POP OUT AND BRAKE WHILE SHIFTING TO DRIVE THE OTHER DAY. I HAD TO DRIVE TO HONDA, AND GET THAT REPLACED, AND WAS TOLD THAT IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM.
WHEN BACKING THE HONDA CR-V IN REVERSE DOWN MY DRIVEWAY, I TOUCHED THE SHIFT GEAR AND PROCEEDED TO PLACE THE CR-V INTO DRIVE. THE HONDA CR-V WENT INTO THE D POSITION, AND I SAW A SMALL PIECE OF THE KNOB FALL OFF. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AND TRIED THE PUT THE CR- V INTO PARK, HOWEVER I COULD NOT. I HAD TO PLACE THE EMERGENCY PARKING BREAK ON. THIS WAS A VERY SCARY EXPERIENCE!
I WAS DRIVING MY HONDA CR-V ON A HIGHWAY USING THE HOV LANE. AT SOME POINT WHILE DRIVING NORMALLY THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE SEEMED TO HAVE COLLAPSE AND THE CAR STARTED PULLING STRONG IN ONE DIRECTION TOWARDS THE CENTER DIVIDER LINE. WITH TWO HANDS ON THE WHEEL THE PULL WAS SO STRONG THAT I WOULD BARELY CONTROL THE CAR AND KEEP IT FROM CRASHING INTO THE DIVIDER. BARELY MISSING THE DIVIDER I MANAGED TO STOP THE CAR ON THE SHOULDER LUCKILY WITHOUT ANYONE COLLIDING INTO ME. IF I WAS DRIVING IN THE MIDDLE LANE THIS COULD HAVE PROMPTED A MAJOR ACCIDENT. I DIDN'T GO OVER ANY POTHOLE OR OBSTRUCTION ON THE ROAD. NO ONE HIT ME NOR DID I HIT ANYONE. NO AIRBAGS INFLATED NOR WARNING INDICATORS APPEAR ON THE CONSOLE. I CALLED THE POLICE AND ONCE ON THE SCENE THE POLICE SWEPT THE HIGHWAY TO DETERMINE IF THERE WERE ANY POTHOLES OR OBSTACLES THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THE INCIDENT. THEY CONFIRMED THAT NON EXISTED AND THAT THE ROAD WAS DEEMED SAFE. THERE WAS NO POLICE REPORT PRODUCED AS THE POLICE DEEMED THE INCIDENT TO BE A NON ACCIDENT AND INSTEAD A BREAKDOWN SINCE THERE WAS NO COLLISION OR ALTERCATION. WHEN LOOKING AT THE CAR DAMAGE THERE WAS SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE WHEEL, WHEEL WELL, RIM WHICH SPLIT UP VERTICALLY, ROTAR, SUSPENSION, WHEEL CALIPER, BRAKES (WHICH FELL OFF IN PIECES) AND BASICALLY EVERYTHING ATTACHED TO THE DRIVER SIDE WHEEL. THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE TOWED AS IT WAS NOT OPERATIONAL AT THAT POINT. WHEN BROUGHT BACK TO THE HONDA DEALER THE DEALER COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING REPORTED ON THE COMPUTER. THERE ONLY EXPLANATION WAS THAT THE CAR WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. THE DEALER DID NOT WANT TO FURTHER INVESTIGATE OR FIND FAULT EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS STILL COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. THIS INCIDENT SEEMED TO BE A MECHANICAL MALFUNCTION THAT OCCURRED THAT ALMOST TOOK MY LIFE AND COULD BE A POTENTIAL SAFELY CONCERN FOR OTHER HONDA CR-V DRIVERS IF NOT PROPERLY INVESTIGATED.
THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM FAILED. HONDA WILL NOT AUTHORIZE REPAIR, STATING IF THEY REPLACED THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM, IT WOULD FAIL AGAIN. THE DEALER AND HONDA SAY THAT THE CRV'S HAVE SOME TYPE OF ELECTRONIC PROBLEM THAT IS BLOWING OUT NAVIGATION SYSTEMS AND THAT THEY WILL NOT REPLACE OR REPAIR THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM UNTIL THEIR TECHS CAN FIGURE OUT WHAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. THEIR ONLY RESPONSE TO MY QUESTIONS ARE FOR ME TO CALL EVERY 30 DAYS TO SEE IF THEY HAVE FOUND OUT THE CAUSE AND TO BUY A MAP IF I TRAVEL. NO SERVICE, NO REPAIR AND NO ANSWERS.
GAS GETTING INTO OIL MAKING OIL LEVEL HIGH AND EFFECTING LUBRICATION
THE AUTOMATIC BREAKING FUNCTION IS RANDOMLY APPLYING THE BRAKES, OR WARNING TO BRAKE, AT RANDOM TIMES WHEN THERE ARE NO OTHER VEHICLES OR PEOPLE AROUND THE CAR. THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING SYSTEM HAS APPLIED ITSELF 3 TIMES, WITH VERY HARD BRAKING TO THE POINT THAT THE SEATBELTS LOCKED UP, WHILE MERGING OR EXITING THE FREEWAY, GOING ANYWHERE FROM 25-45 MPH'ISH. ONE TIME I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED AND THE VEHICLE BEHIND HAD TO SWERVE TO AVOID HITTING ME (BECAUSE THEY WERE ALSO TAILGATING), ANOTHER TIME WAS WHILE EXITING A BRIDGE, AND THE MOST RECENT WAS THIS MORNING WHILE MERGING ONTO THE FREEWAY IN FRONT OF A BIG RIG AND THE BRAKES RANDOMLY SLAMMED THEMSELVES ON FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON. WHILE DRIVING ON SURFACE STREETS IT HAS AUTOMATICALLY APPLIED THE BRAKES LIGHTLY AT LEAST TWICE, AND GIVEN COUNTLESS FALSE BRAKING WARNINGS WHEN DRIVING AROUND CITY STREETS. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD!

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RICK HENDRICK HONDA OF CHARLESTON (1539 SAVANNAH HWY, CHARLESTON, SC 29407 (843) 279-0447 WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO A SPARE TIRE THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE LATER REOCCURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT LATER ALL THE TIRES WERE REPLACED DUE TO WEAR AND TEAR BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SYSTEM WAS REBOOTED HOWEVER THE CONTACT CONFIRMED THAT THE SYSTEM REBOOT WAS NOT PERFORMED AS THE DEALER STATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,774.
FUEL IN OIL CAUSING HIGH OIL LEVEL AND LOWERING THE VISCOSITY OF THE OIL CAUSING PRE MATURE WEAR OF ENGINE COMPONENTS.
THE OIL IN MY ENGINE IS BEING DILUTED WITH GASOLINE. THE DIPSTICK NEVER GOES BELOW FULL AND THE OIL IS THIN AND DIRTY. THIS IS JUST 1 MONTH AFTER AN OIL CHANGE. OCCASIONALLY THE GAS FUMES ENTER THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT AND MAKE DRIVING THE CAR UNPLEASANT. HONDA DEALER SAYS THERE IS NO PROBLEM. THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM. DATE BELOW IS THE LAST TIME GAS FUMES WERE INSIDE THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT.
BROKEN SHIFT BUTTON: I WAS DRIVING THIS CAR AND THE SHIFT BUTTON POP OUT AND FELL UNDER THE DRIVER SEAT. IT CREATED AN UNSAFE CONDITION SINCE I COULD NOT PUT THE CAR TO PARK OR SHIFT ANY GEAR. MANY DRIVERS ALSO EXPERIENCE THE SAME THING. THE BUTTON IS CONNECTED TO THE SHIFT GEAR AND IT IS MADE FROM A CHEAP PIECE OF PLASTIC. IT COSTS $85 TO REPLACE AT THE DEALER. HONDA REFUSES TO REIMBURSE SINCE THE CAR HAS PAST ITS WARRANTY. THE CAR IS AT 50000 MILES. I HAD TO PICK IT UP UNDER THE SEAT AND USE A HAIR BAND TO KEEP IT IN PLACE UNTIL IT IS REPAIRED AT THE DEALER.
VIDEO OR NAVIGATION SCREEN WILL NOT DIM AND BLINDS DRIVER WHEN DRIVING AFTER DARK
Brakes: January 2018 the brake warning light flashed and there was an audible telling me to brake when there was nothing in front of me. Brakes: April 2019 the brake warning light flashed on dash and the car started braking when there was nothing in front of me. Brakes: I stepped on the brake pedal and the radio volume changed. Adaptive Cruise: May 2019 While traveling with the cruise on, it stopped showing there was a vehicle in front of me, it did not slow my car down as I approached the vehicle in front of me.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH with the Adaptive Cruise Control activated, the Collision Mitigation Braking System engaged while there was another vehicle nearby. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred while there were no other vehicles around. The warning message "Caution Brakes" was illuminated. The contact disengaged Adaptive Cruise Control feature and continued driving. Additionally, the contact stated that the touch panel light was becoming dimmer while driving at night. The contact also stated that the vehicle failed to start occasionally. The contact was able to jumpstart the vehicle with assistance. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the battery needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the battery was replaced; however, the failure reoccurred with the computer system engaging independently, while activating the alarm system simultaneously. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer Norm Reeves Honda Superstore Irvine (16 Auto Center Dr, Irvine, CA 92618) where it was diagnosed that the Body Control Module (BCM) needed to be replaced; however, the parts were not available as it was on a national back order. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 17,000.
MY CAR WAS IN MOTION I WAS MAKING A RIGHT TURN INTO THE HIGHWAY WHEN MY CAR JUST STOPPED. I TURNED IT OFF, WHEN I TRIED TO TURN IT BACK ON, IT DIDN'T. I STARTED TO SMELL SOMETHING BURNING. SO I JUST LEFT IT ALONE. ONLY THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD AND THE RADIO TURNED ON, I WAS ABLE TO CONTROL THE WINDOWS. THE WARNING LIGHTS THAT CAME UP WERE THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING, CHARGING SYSTEM, AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS.
WHILE DRIVING MY CAR SIMPLY SLAMS ON THE BRAKES OUT OF NO WHERE. THERE WAS NOTHING IN FRONT OF ME. I WAS TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 45 MILES AN HOUR ON AN EXIT RAMP WHEN THE CAR BEEPED, FLASHED BRAKE, AND IT BRAKED EVEN THOUGHT MY FOOT WAS STILL ON THE GAS. THE SEAT BELT TIGHTENED UP AND THE CAR STOPPED. ONCE IT REALIZED THERE WAS NOTHING THERE, IT BEGAN TO ACCELERATE LIKE A ROCKET SHIP. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE ON SUNNY DAYS WHEN IT MUST HAVE MISREAD SHADOWS ON THE ROAD AS OBJECTS AND AGAIN, SLAMMED ON THE BREAKS. IF THERE HAD BEEN A CAR BEHIND ME THIS MORNING, I HAVE NO DOUBT I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS? I HAD BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER BEFORE AND I WAS INSULTED THAT THEY SAID MY CAR WAS DIRTY. I WOULD HAVE DIED! IF THEIR SENSORS CANNOT FUNCTION IN A MICHIGAN SPRING, THEY NEED TO DO SOMETHING!

I HAD JUST COME OFF THE HIGHWAY EXIT ON TO THE CITY STREET. I WAS INCREASING MY SPEED AND MOVING OVER TO THE LEFT. JUST AS I GOT INTO THE LEFT LANE THE CR-V SUDDENLY STARTED TO FLASH BREAK ON THE DASH IN FRONT OF ME AND I COULD FEEL THE VEHICLE BREAK HARD ON IT'S OWN. I WAS LUCKY NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME. THERE WAS NO PERSON/VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME THAT I WOULD NEED TO BRAKE FOR. I TOOK THE VEHICLE THE NEXT DAY TO THE HONDA GARAGE AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING. THERE WAS NO FAULT CODE IN THE SYSTEM NOR COULD THE TECHNICIAN DUPLICATE THIS ISSUE. I WAS LUCKY THAT THIS HAPPEN AT NIGHT WITHOUT MUCH TRAFFIC IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPEN GOING TO WORK ON THE HIGHWAY SOMEONE COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED. I HAVE SEEN OTHER CR-V OWNERS REPORT THE SAME THING HAPPEN ON FORUMS. I AM VERY WEARY NOW TO DRIVE TO WORK WITH THIS ISSUE. I USED TO LOVE MY CR-V NOW I DON'T WANT TO DRIVE IT BUT HAVE NO CHOOSE AS IT IS MY ONLY TRANSPORTATION TO WORK.
RAN PREMIUM GAS ONLY AND CHANGED OIL TWICE AS OFTEN AS RECOMMENDED BUT RECENTLY (4/2019) CHECKED OIL AND IT READ WAY ABOVE FULL, LOOKED ALMOST CLEAR AFTER 1500 MILES, AND SMELLED STRONGLY OF GAS AGAIN. I NOTICED THE CAR WAS ACCELERATING SLOWER AND SLOWER THAN WHEN NEW. READ UP ON GAS IN OIL PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR AND SAW THAT HONDA OFFERED NO FIX FOR CARS IN THE STATE WHERE I LIVE AND DEALERSHIPS APPARENTLY DENY THERE IS GAS IN THE OIL. I WAS CONCERNED AFTER READING ABOUT ENGINES STALLING, WHICH OF COURSE THEY WILL DO WITH GAS IN THE CRANKCASE, HONDA DID RECALL WORK ON THIS CAR THAT INVOLVED CHANGING THE OIL BUT NOT THE FILTER WHICH IS RIDICULOUS AND WHICH DOESN'T EVEN BEGIN TO ADDRESS THIS HUGE ENGINE PROBLEM. I BELIEVE THIS IS A POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE OF THE RISK OF THE CAR POTENTIALLY LOSING POWER AND/OR STALLING IN FREEWAY TRAFFIC. HONDA HAS NOT ONLY NOT FIXED THIS PROBLEM, THEY CONTINUE TO SELL THESE CARS WITH ENGINE DEFECTS EVEN AFTER THEY HAVE KNOWN ABOUT IT SINCE 2017.
MESSAGE "SHUTTER GRILLE PROBLEM. POWER REDUCED." WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED ON A UPGRADE TOWING A SMALL TRAILER, THIS MESSAGE APPEARED AND THE SPEED OF THE CRV IMMEDIATELY REDUCED BY APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. I SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND WAITED (VERY SHAKEN) FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES AND RESTARTED THE CAR AND IT ACTED NORMALLY. THE DEALER DOESN'T SEEM TO KNOW WHY THIS HAPPENED EVEN THOUGH I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED BY THE REDUCTION IN SPEED. (AND IT HAS HAPPENED TO OTHERS WITH CRVS WHO HAVE REPORTED THIS ONLINE.) THIS CAR MOSTLY DRIVEN IN CANADA.
I WAS DRIVING MY HONDA CR-V (2017 MODEL EX AWD) ON A HIGHWAY AT 40 TO 50 MPH SPEED. IT WAS RAINING AT THAT TIME. I EXPERIENCED BIG JERKS COUPLE OF TIMES AND LOST THE CONTROL ON THE VEHICLE. SAW ERROR MESSAGE ON THE DASH BOARD SAYING 'LOST TRACTION AND CANCELLING CRUISE CONTROL'. IT WAS HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE.
ALL ELECTRICAL WARNING LIGHTS GO ON. BEEN IN SHOP 3 TIMES WITHIN THE LAST 6 MONTHS )TWICE IN THE LAST 2 WEEKS) SUPPOSEDLY GIVING OFF DIFFERENT CODES EVEN THOUGH THE SYMPTOMS ARE THE SAME. TWICE VEHICLE WAS MOVING BUT DRY WEATHER. ONCE STARTED AFTER BEING IN GARAGE. DEALER KEEPS SAYING IT IS DIFFERENT PROBLEMS CAUSING THE SAME THING WHICH CONCERNS ME.
