DURING OIL CHANGES, MORE OIL WAS COMING OUT THAN WAS BEING PUT IN. OIL CLEARLY SMELLS LIKE FUEL. WHEN I BROUGHT THIS TO HONDA'S ATTENTION IN EARLY APRIL, I WAS TOLD TO GO TO A CERTIFIED HONDA DEALERSHIP TO GET A DIAGNOSIS. DURING THE DIAGNOSIS DONE ON 4/17/2019, THEY PERFORMED AN OIL CHANGE AT 80% OIL LIFE WHICH INDICATED THAT OIL LEVELS WERE ELEVATED BY APPROXIMATELY 1/4TH OF A QUART. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE HOW DILUTED THE OIL WOULD BE AT 10 OR 15% OIL LIFE. ACCORDING TO MY CASE MANAGER AND AS STATED IN THIS PAPERWORK, THIS IS "NORMAL". PAPERWORK PROVIDED BELOW WITH PERSONAL INFORMATION REDACTED.
CAR STALLED. AND VENTS SMELL OF GASOLINE, GEAR SHIFT IS LOOSE. ALMOST GOT IN A CAR ACCIDENT WITH MY TODDLER AND HUSBAND IN CAR.
I WENT FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND THE PLACE SAID THAT THE OIL SMELLED LIKE FUEL, WAS VERY THIN. IN CONSUMER REPORTS THERE WAS A BLURB ABOUT THE HONDA CR-VS WITH THE 1.5 TURBO ENGINE EXPERIENCING THE MIXING OF GAS IN THE OIL BUT MAINLY IN THE COLDER, NORTHERN STATES. SO, WHEN THE OIL CHANGE PEOPLE SAID THE OIL SMELLED LIKE GAS, I THEN DROVE TO A HONDA DEALER AND THEY CHECKED IT OUT, BUT SAID THEY DIDN'T SEE GAS IN THE OIL, BUT I JUST HAD THE OIL CHANGED SO OF COURSE THERE WASN'T SIGNS OF IT. SO, BEFORE MY NEXT OIL CHANGE I WILL TAKE IT TO HONDA SO THEY CAN SEE IT.
OUR SUV CONTINUES TO HAVE ISSUES WITH THE DASHBOARD. IT SHOWS ERRORS THEN IT WON'T START. WE ARE REBOOTING IT AT LEAST TWICE A MONTH. WE HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY AND HAD TO CALL ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. THE INCIDENTS HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING.
EMISSIONS CHECK LIGHT APPEARS - CAR IS DRIVEN 25000 MILES
OIL DILUTION PROBLEM. GAS GETTING INTO OIL. HONDA "FIX" DID NOT WORK; SAME ISSUE 300 MILES AFTER FIX APPLIED. ENGINE IDLING ROUGH (ESPECIALLY DURING FIRST START AFTER SITTING OVERNIGHT), OIL LEVEL RISING IN CAR, WHEN YOU CHECK THE OIL IT SMELLS LIKE GAS, FUEL SMELL IN CABIN PERIODICALLY, ENGINE HESITATING/STALLING WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE. HAVE VISITED DEALERSHIP TWICE WITHIN 30 DAYS FOR THIS PROBLEM WITH NO RESOLUTION.
SHIFTER CONTROL BUTTON POPPED OFF WHILE DRIVING CREATING A SIGNIFICANT HAZARD TO THE DRIVER AND OCCUPANTS AS REASSEMBLING THE CONTROLLER/ SHIFTER CAN BE DANGEROUS. HONDA USA ( CATHERINE) REPORTED THIS IS NOT A HONDA ISSUE. AND REFUSED TO PROVIDE TOWING.
OUT OF WARRANTY BUT GEAR SHIFT BUTTON HAS BEEN "STICKING" FOR 1 MONTH AND THEN "BROKE OFF" TODAY. CAR ONLY HAS 40,000 MILES ON IT AND NOW CANNOT DRIVE IT DUE TO INABILITY TO SHIFT GEARS.
GEAR SHIFT BUTTON (YOU DEPRESS THIS TO SHIFT GEARS) POPPED OFF, NO WARNING, FOR NO REASON. I WAS SHIFTING INTO REVERSE, WHEN I RELEASED THE BUTTON, IT FLEW OFF. I HAD TO KEEP MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE TO FIND THE BUTTON AND STICK IT BACK IN. IT IS NOW LOOSE AND WILL NOT STAY ON/IN. THIS COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS IF A CAR IS MOVING AND IT POPS OFF...
I BELIEVE MY VEHICLE IS PART OF THE HONDA 1.5L OIL-FUEL PROBLEM FIRST NOTICED BACK IN LATE 2017. I DID NOT THINK MUCH ABOUT IT UNTIL I TALKED WITH TWO OTHER CO-WORKERS WHO ALSO HAVE 2017 HONDA CR-VS. FIRST, MY ENGINE PERFORMANCE SLOWLY DROPS AFTER EACH OIL CHANGE, THEN PICKS BACK UP AGAIN ONCE I HAVE GOTTEN AN OIL CHANGE. SECOND, THIS WAS MY FIRST WINTER WITH MY CR-V AND I NOTICED THAT IT HAS A VERY HARD TIME ACCELERATING DURING THE WINTER MONTHS EVEN AFTER LETTING THE ENGINE WARM UP FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. LASTLY, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAYS THAT MY OIL LEVEL IS AT A CERTAIN %, FOR INSTANCE IT SAYS THAT I AM AT 20% RIGHT NOW, HOWEVER, WHEN I CHECK THE DIPSTICK, I SEE OIL WELL ABOVE THE "FULL" LINE. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT I CAN DO TO REMEDY THIS PROBLEM. I LIVE IN THE STATE OF VIRGINIA, AND NOTICED THAT THERE IS NO FIX FOR VEHICLES IN MY STATE.
SHIFT KNOB ON STICK TO SET CAR TO PARK, DRIVE, OR REVERSE BROKE. IT DOES NOT STAY IN SLOT. THIS CAUSED AN ISSUE WHEN I TRIED TO PUT CAR INTO PARK AND REALIZED THE BUTTON POPPED OUT. CAR WAS STATIONARY AND I WAS ABLE TO PUT CAR IN NEUTRAL, FIND THE BUTTON AND PUSH IN, BUT STILL A DANGER.
THE LEVEL OF THE FLUID ON THE OIL DIPSTICK WILL INCREASE AFTER AN OIL CHANGE. AND UPON REMOVING IT SMELLS OF GASOLINE. 2000 MILES AFTER AN OIL CHANGE THE LEVEL ON THE DIPSTICK WILL READ 1/2' HIGHER THAN NORMAL. WHICH TELLS ME GAS IS SOMEHOW ENTERING THE CRANKCASE AND DILUTING THE OIL.
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO ON THE WEEKEND WHEN THE CAR STOPPED SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING NORMALLY, THERE WAS NO NEED FOR THE BRAKES TO BE ACTIVATED. I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT AT ABOUT 40 MPH , THERE WAS A WALL ON THE FAR LEFT SIDE OF THE ROAD( ABOUT 2 METER HEIGHT), ANYHOW, THE BRAKES SYSTEM SHOULD NOT BE ACTIVATED --SIMILARLY A YEAR AGO IN 208 I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM , BRAKES GOES OFF BY ITESLEF WITHOUT ANY NEED FOR IT...THIS IS DANGEROUS AS SOMEONE COULD HAVE HIT ME FROM THE BACK.
IT IS THE END OF MARCH 2019. THE OIL LEVEL IN THE 1.5T ENGINE KEEPS GOING UP. THE DIP STICK HAS STRONG GASOLINE ODOR. SERVICE BULLETIN 18-147 HAS BEEN APPLIED TO THE TO THE CAR IN EARLY JANUARY OF 2019 AND IS NOT HELPING WITH THE OIL DILUTION. WHY IS SERVICE BULLETIN 18-147 NOT CONSIDERED A RECALL SINCE IT IS MANDATORY FOR THOSE WHO RECEIVED THE NOTICE? WHY IS THE NHTSA NOT INVESTIGATING A VEHICLE THAT HAS 500-1000% MORE POSTED COMPLAINTS THAN THE AVERAGE VEHICLE OF THE SAME CLASS?
ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, THE SYSTEM HAS MADE AN ALERT SOUND AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL HAS PROVIDED THE FOLLOWING NOTIFICATIONS: "BREAK SYSTEM" INDICATOR IS LIT; COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM PROBLEM; ROAD DEPARTURE MITIGATION SYSTEM PROBLEM; AND TODAY (3/28/2019) WHILE THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ENGAGED, IT ALSO DISPLAYED ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL PROBLEM. IT SHUTS DOWN THESE SYSTEMS AND THE CAR DRIVES WITH A SLIGHT "DRAG" TO ITS MOVEMENT. THE ONLY WAY TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE IS TO PULL OVER, TURN THE CAR OFF, WAIT, AND THEN RESTART. THE SYSTEM CHECKS ITSELF AND RESETS. THIS IS UNPREDICTABLE, CANNOT BE SPECIFICALLY INITIATED, AND THEREFORE IS DIFFICULT TO TAKE FOR REPAIR WHEN THERE IS NO INDICATION AT THE TIME OF THE VEHICLE BEING IN NEED OF REPAIR. THERE IS CLEARLY SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE SOFTWARE, THE COMPUTER, OR AN ELECTRICAL CONNECTION. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER, VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN OCTOBER 2017.
THE PUSH BUTTON ON THE GEAR SELECT LEVER FELL OFF AFTER SHIFTING TO DRIVE. THE I HAD TO SEARCH THE FLOOR WHERE THE BUTTON FELL AND PLACE IT BACK INTO THE SELECT LEVER IN ORDER TO SHIFT TO PARK. NOW THE BUTTON EASILY FALLS OFF. IT LOOKS LIKE THE PLASTIC INSIDE THE PUSH KNOB BROKE.
VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT . WHEN LIGHT TURNED GREEN, BEGAN TO ENTER THE INTERSECTION WHEN VEHICLE SUDDENLY FLASHED BRAKE WARNING AND BROUGHT CAR TO COMPLETE STOP. THERE WAS NOTHING IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. LUCKILY THE VEHICLE BEHIND DID NOT HIT THE BACK OF MY CAR. THIRD TIME SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED, BAR BRAKING WITH NOTHING IN FRONT OF IT.
RADIO TURNS ON AND OFF, RADIO STATIONS SWITCH AROUND, BRIGHTNESS GOES UP AND DOWN, PHONEBOOK GETS RUN THROUGH AND CALLS RANDOM PEOPLE, GOOGLE MAPS HISTORY STARTS BEING DISPLAYED AS IF SOMEONE IS LOOKING UP MY LOCATION, WINDSHIELD WIPERS GO ON AND OFF. RADIO VOLUME TURNS WAY UP. I UNPLUG MY PHONE AND SOMEONE WILL RECONNECT IT USING BLUETOOTH. IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING 3 TIMES A WEEK OVER 6 MONTHS. DEALERSHIP HAS NO SECURITY UPDATES FOR ME
THE SHIFT GEAR/SHAFT BUTTON FELL APART/BROKE OFF ALL OF A SUDDEN, WHILE CAR WAS IN MOTION. THIS RENDERED THE VEHICLE INOPERABLE AS YOU CANNOT SHIFT GEARS. I WAS UNABLE TO FIGURE A SAFE SOLUTION WHILE DIVING. AFTER TALKING WITH OTHERS APPARENTLY THIS MANUFACTURER DEFECT IS HAPPENING TO CRV OWNERS. I CONTACTED HONDA AND THEIR REPLY WAS THAT IF IT IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRS. MY CONCERN IS THAT IF THIS OCCURS WHILE DRIVING IT CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND OR SERIOUS INJURIES.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65MPH THE SILVER BUTTON ON THE GEAR SHIFT SPONTANEOUSLY BROKE OFF THE HANDLE USED TO SHIFT BETWEEN PARK, NEUTRAL AND DRIVE. NO ONE WAS TOUCHING THE SHIFTER AT THAT TIME. THIS WAS A VERY DISTRACTING EVENT -- I SUDDENLY SAW THE BROKEN BUTTON. TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS "GOING ON" DISTRACTED ME FROM LOOKING AT THE ROAD, WITH THE ASSOCIATED RISK OF LOOSING "SITUATIONAL AWARENESS". I WAS FORTUNATE IN THAT I RAPIDLY REFOCUSED ON THE ROAD AND NO ACCIDENT OCCURRED. THE PERSON IN THE FRONT-PASSENGER SEAT FIGURED OUT WHAT HAD HAPPENED. I TALKED TO 2 DEALERS AND THEY INDICATED THAT THEY HAVE SEEN THIS WITH SEVERAL OTHER CRVS. BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE AND THE DEALER FEEDBACK, THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. THIS IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT THAT IMPACTS MULTIPLE CARS; THE DISTRACTION CREATED WHEN IT HAPPENS ON THE HIGHWAY CAN RESULT IN SOMEONE GETTING INTO A POTENTIALLY FATAL ACCIDENT IF THIS DEFECT IS NOT PROACTIVELY ADDRESSED. I REPORTED IT TO HONDA AMERICA. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WILL REPORT IT TO HONDA, BUT MADE NO COMMITMENT TO ADDRESSING IT OR GETTING BACK TO ME ON THEIR DECISION. A PROACTIVE RECALL AND REPAIR OF THE PROBLEM NEEDS TO HAPPEN BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT.
ENGINE DIED ON THE HIGHWAY AFTER CAR WENT IN FOR OIL DILUTION RECALL AND HAD THE FIX. THIS RESULTED IN A CRASH.
KEY FOB FOR KEYLESS ENTRY HAS A FEATURE THAT AUTO OPENS ALL WINDOWS. IT IS EASILY ACTIVATED AND PER HONDA CANNOT BE DEACTIVATED. I HAVE FOUND ON 8 OCCASIONS IN 2YEARS ALL MY WINDOWS OPEN TO RAIN OR SNOW UPON GOING TO MY CAR. ALL ITEMS IN CAR COULD EASILY BE STOLEN AND CAR HAS BEEN SOAKED INSIDE ON 4 OF THE 8 EVENTS. THIS WATER/SNOW DAMAGE WILL HAVE AGED MY OWNED VEHICLE. THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE IT APPEARS WITH MOST HONDAS IN LAST 7 YEARS. I HAVE FINALLY RESORTED TO BAGGING MY KEYS AND PLACING THEM BY THEMSELVES UP HIGH WHERE THEY CANNOT BE CONTACTED.
VEHICLE IS UNABLE TO START AFTER SHUTDOWN WITH NO DIAGNOSED CAUSE. AFTER SUCCESSFUL SHUTDOWN (PARKED), VEHICLE WILL BE UNABLE TO BATTERY START, WITH LIGHTS AND DASHBOARD ELECTRONICS FLASHING AND STARTER UNABLE TO ENGAGE WHEN PRESSING START BUTTON WITH BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED. VEHICLE REQUIRES JUMP START FOR SUCCESSFUL START UPON SYMPTOMS APPEARING. VEHICLE HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO HONDA DEALERSHIPS SEVERAL TIMES FOR DIAGNOSIS AND SERVICE, BUT NO IDENTIFIABLE CAUSE HAS BEEN FOUND. UPON LATEST VISIT, CAR WAS UNABLE TO START IMMEDIATELY AFTER PARKING CAR AT DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED BATTERY (NORMAL, GR8, ED-18 TESTS) AND BOTH TESTS PASSED WITH NORMAL PARAMETERS. DEALERSHIP PERFORMED PARASITIC DRAW TEST WITH NO ABNORMAL DRAW FOUND. DEALERSHIP APPLIED HONDA TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN (TSB) 17-032 AND DID NOT FIX PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS SEEMINGLY AT RANDOM INTERVALS AND WITH NO PATTERN TO WHAT COULD CAUSE THE BATTERY TO BE UNABLE TO START THE CAR. PROBLEM APPEARS AFTER PARKING WITH OR WITHOUT PARKING BRAKE ENGAGED PRIOR TO SHUTDOWN, AFTER NO DRIVING ACTIVITY FOR SEVERAL WEEKS, AND ALSO AFTER DRIVING FOR SEVERAL HOURS PRIOR TO SHUTDOWN. NO ACCESSORIES OR LIGHTS ARE LEFT ON OR PLUGGED IN TO THE CAR'S ELECTRICAL SYSTEM DURING PERIODS OF NO DRIVING ACTIVITY. THIS PROBLEM SUGGESTS THAT THERE IS AN UNDIAGNOSED ISSUE WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ON THIS VEHICLE. HONDA AT THIS TIME SEEMS UNWILLING OR UNABLE TO REMEDY THE ISSUE EVEN THOUGH IT PRESENTS A SAFETY ISSUE - THE INABILITY TO START/MOVE VEHICLE AFTER DRIVING.

GEAR SHIFT BUTTON POPPED OUT WHEN I PULLED UP IN MY DRIVEWAY AT HOME. FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO PUT IT IN PARK.
BATTERY DIES AFTER SITTING FOR 5+ DAYS. NEW BATTERY INSTALLED, SAME ISSUE. TSB-032 HAS BEEN APPLIED, STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM.
DRIVING ON A MULTI LANE ROAD, NO CARS IN FROM OF ME. MY SPEED WAS ABOUT 45 MPH. COLLISION AVOIDANCE BRAKING SYSTEM WAS ACTIVATED BRINGING VEHICLE TO AN ALMOST COMPLETE STOP. I HAD 2 PASSENGERS WHO CAN CORROBORATE STORY.
DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, 65 MPH, WITH ACC CRUISE CONTROL ON. SUDDENLY IT DEACTIVATED. WARNING LIGHT FOR ACC/ ROAD DEPARTURE MITIGATION/ COLLISION MITIGATION AND BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEMS WARNING INDICATORS CAME ON. BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING WAS PARTICULARLY STRESSFUL. I TRIED BRAKES AND THEY SEEMED NORMAL BUT ACC DEFINITELY DID NOT WORK. TRIED MULTIPLE TIMES TO TURN OFF SYSTEM AND TURN IT BACK ON TO NO AVAIL. WINDSHIELD WAS CLEAN AS WAS FRONT SENSOR AREA. AS I WAS ON A HIGHWAY I COULDN'T STOP. AN HOUR LATTER, WHILE STILL ON THE ROAD WARNING LIGHTS WENT OFF AND ALL SYSTEMS WERE AVAILABLE. DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHAT HAD HAPPENED. NOW A MONTH LATER SAME HAPPENED AGAIN AND SYSTEM RECOVERED IN ABOUT AN HOUR WHILE STILL DRIVING. LANE KEEPING ASSIST SYSTEM WAS STILL WORKING WHILE THE OTHER SYSTEMS WENT OUT SO THE CAMERA WAS STILL FUNCTIONING. CAR SEEMED TO FUNCTION NORMALLY WHILE THESE SYSTEMS WERE OUT. AS A FORMER MECHANIC,POLICE DRIVING INSTRUCTOR AND CRASH RECONSTRUCTIONIST I KNOW THAT THIS CAN NOT BE CAUSED BY "LOW GAS" OR "GAS IN THE OIL". THIS IS AN ELECTRONICS PROBLEM. I HAVE ALSO HAD THE TIRE MONITORING SYSTEM MALFUNCTION THREE TIMES.
ELECTRIC CONSOLE WILL TURN ON AND OFF BY ITSELF, CHANGE BRIGHTNESS, AND KEEPS CHANGING SCREENS WHILE BEEPING. NO WAY TO STOP IT EXCEPT TO PULL OVER, TURN OFF VEHICLE AND RESTART. IT HAS DONE THIS 5 TIMES NOW IN 1 MONTH. VERY DISTRACTING AND DANGEROUS BESIDES ANNOYING. IT HAPPENS WHETHER YOU ARE DRIVING OR PARKED. LIGHTS ON OR OFF.
GEAR SHIFT LEVER BUTTON BROKE WHILE SHIFTING TO REVERSE TO BACK OUT OF GARAGE. PARTS FLEW OUT. CALLED LOCAL HONDA DEALER AND WAS TOLD "THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE" WITH THAT YEAR CRV'S.
THE PUSH-BUTTON START DOES NOT ENGAGE ON THE FIRST TRY QUITE OFTEN. IT THEN TAKES THREE OR FOUR PRESSES, REMOVING AND REAPPLYING THE BRAKE PEDAL, TO GET THE IGNITION TO ENGAGE. I HAVE NOT NOTICED ANY PATTERN TO THE FAILURES, SUCH AS COLD ENGINE, WEATHER CONDITIONS. THIS IS NOT A SINGLE EVENT SO HOW DO I ANSWER WHEN? THE DEALER WAS ADVISED REPEATEDLY OF THE PROBLEM BUT WILL NOT EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM -ALTHOUGH I DON'T KNOW IF YOU CONSIDER IT A SAFETY PROBLEM. IT HAS PERSISTED FROM WHEN IT WAS BRAND NEW MARCH 2017 UNTIL NOW.
GAS IN OIL AFTER RECALL. HAD THE RECALL THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO FIX THE ISSUE. A FEW WEEKS LATER AND, NOW MY OIL IS DARK, OVERFILLED AND SMELLS LIKE GASOLINE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND MY CAR STARTED LEAKING OIL AFTER THE RECALL. LESS THAN 15K MILES
MY 2017 HONDA CR-V HAS HAD A FEW PROBLEMS. CURRENT ISSUES: 1) BIGGEST COMPLAINT THE GEAR SHIFT BUTTON LITERALLY JUST FELL OFF TODAY WHEN I PUT MY CAR IN PARK. THE SILVER BUTTON THAT GOES INTO THE SIDE FELL INTO THE FLOOR. IT SEEMED MORE & MORE LOOSE OVER THE LAST FEW DAYS, BUT I DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT. I SHOULD'VE. IT'S A CR-V. 2) FOR THE LAST FEW MONTHS MY PASSENGER BACK SEAT DOOR WON'T LOCK OR UNLOCK WITH MY KEY FOB OR WHEN I CLICK THE BUTTON. I HAVE TO MANUALLY PUSH IT. WHICH MEANS IF ALL THE DOORS AREN'T LOCKED THE CAR WON'T LOCK THE OTHER DOORS. MY CAR IS NOT SECURE WHEN I'M LEAVING IT PARKED.

I HAD THE CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 61 MPH WHEN SUDDENLY MY VEHICLE PUT THE BRAKES ON DISENGAGED THE CRUISE CONTROL AND LANE ASSIST CONTROL . THEN A CODE FLASHED UP SAYING 'AUTO HIGH BEAM PROBLEM'. AFTER A 15 MINUTES TO REACH MY HOME I CHECKED THE HIGH BEAMS IT WAS FINE. IN THE LAST 4 WEEKS I HAVE HAD CODE FLASH ON THE SCREEN WHILE I AM DRIVING SAYING SYSTEM FAILURE, FOR 5-10 MINUTES. *DT*JB *DT CONSUMER STATED THIS WAS THE SIXTH TIME.*JB

THE CONTACT DID NOT KNOW IF THE VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
THE BUTTON ON THE GEAR SHIFTER CRACKED WHEN PRESSURE WAS APPLIED BY MY THUMB WHEN TRYING TO SHIFT FROM PARK TO DRIVE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO NOT BE ABLE TO SHIFT IN AND OUT OF GEAR. FORTUNATELY THE CAR WAS IN PARK AT THE TIME INSTEAD OF DRIVE OR REVERSE. AFTER THE GEAR SHIFT BUTTON CRACKED THE KEY WOULD NO LONGER RELEASE FROM THE IGNITION.

ENGINE WAS MAKING A FLUTTERY SOUND. NOTICED FUEL IN OIL, FOUND CAMS WERE BINDING AND TIMING CHAIN WAS STRETCHED AND LOOSE. THEY REPLACED CYLINDER HEAD AND TIMING CHAIN. LEARNED ONLINE THIS IS A KNOWN RESULT OF OIL DILUTED BY FUEL, AND THERE IS A FIX BUT ONLY FOR CARS REGISTERED IN CERTAIN STATES, NOT MY STATE. COMPLAINED TO AMERICAN HONDA, CASE #09409822. WAS TOLD OIL DILUTION IS NORMAL, CAR SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN SHORT DISTANCES - CLAIMED THIS IS IN WARRANTY DOCUMENTS - AND THEY WILL DO NOTHING, AND ALSO CANNOT PROVIDE ME WITH ANYTHING IN WRITING. NO PRESALE MENTION OF "REQUIREMENT" TO NOT DRIVE UNDER SEVERAL MILES. WITH MY 1/2-MILE COMMUTE, WOULD NEVER HAVE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE. BASED ON THIS I AM TERRIFIED THAT SOME TIME WHILE DRIVING IN THE FUTURE THE TIMING CHAIN WILL FAIL WHILE I AM DRIVING, THE ENGINE WILL STOP, AND THIS COULD LEAD TO SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH -- EITHER MINE OR YHAT OF STRANGERS.
YESTERDAY I GOT IN MY CAR TO HEAD HOME FROM WORK. WHEN I TURNED IT ON, I GOT A NUMBER OF SYSTEMS ALERTS, INCLUDING THE ENGINE, BRAKES, POWER STEERING AND OTHERS. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR HOME, BUT WHEN I WAS GOING TO TAKE IT THE DEALERSHIP, THE CAR SPUTTERED AND SEEMS TO BE LOSING POWER AS IF IT WOULD STALL. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THAT I HAVE GOTTEN SYSTEM ALERTS AND TAKEN THE CAR TO BE REPAIRED. THE FIRST TIME, THE OIL WAS CHANGED AND A SOFTWARE UPDATE PERFORMED. THE SECOND TIME, A SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS PERFORMED. THIS TIME, I CHECKED THE OIL AND IT WAS OVER FULL AND SMELLED OF GAS. THE CAR IS NOW AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR THEM TO DETERMINE THE ISSUE. I LIVE IN TEXAS. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED, WAS DURING THE SUMMER. THE LAST TWO TIMES HAVE BEEN IN WINTER.
I RECENTLY BOUGH A USED 2017 HONDA CR-V. IT HAD ONLY 29,000 MILES WITH A FRESH OIL CHANGE BEFORE PURCHASE. I HAVE PUT OVER 1,000 MILES ON IT SINCE PURCHASE. I RECENTLY WAS INFORMED OF OIL DILUTION PROBLEMS WITH THE 1.5L TURBO AND DECIDED TO CONFIRM IF MY VEHICLE WAS AFFECTED. I CHECKED THE OIL FROM THE ENGINE AFTER LETTING IT COOL AND MY OIL LEVEL WAS ABOVE THE MAX LEVEL. ALSO, THERE IS A STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE COMING FROM THE OIL. THIS DEEPLY CONCERNS ME AS THE OIL LEVEL SHOULDN'T BE ABOVE THE MAX LEVEL AND THE INCREASED WEAR THAT CAN OCCUR FROM DILUTED OIL. HONDA HAS YET TO ISSUE A RECALL OR ADMIT THIS IS A WIDESPREAD ISSUE. I WILL BE CONTACTING HONDA IN HOPES OF FULL RESOLUTION.

THE ENGINE OIL LEVEL ON THE DIPSTICK WAS VERY HIGH DURING A RECENT RANDOM OIL CHECK. THERE WAS A GASOLINE ODOR ON THE DIPSTICK. I HAVE INFORMED THE LOCAL DEALER WHO SOLD THE CAR (HOWDY HONDA IN AUSTIN, TEXAS), AND HAD THEM PERFORM AN OIL CHANGE. THE DEALER RECOMMENDED TO KEEP AN EYE ON IT. ALSO, I NOTIFIED HONDA USA BY EMAIL. THEY SENT AN AUTOMATED REPLY WITH A CASE NUMBER, BUT MADE NO OTHER ATTEMPT AT CONTACT.
OUR CRV HAS EXCESSIVE UNEVEN TIRE WEAR, AT 17000 MILES THE TIRES WERE WORN BALD ON THE INNER CORNERS MAINLY ON THE REAR OF THE CAR, THE TIRES ARE APPROXIMATELY 7 INCHES WIDE AND THE INNER 2 INCHES ARE BALD , YOU CANNOT SEE THIS UNLESS YOU BEND DOWN AND LOOK UNDER THE CAR FROM THE REAR , THE OUTER CORNERS WICH YOU CAN SEE EASILY HAVE SUFFICIENT TREAD WICH CAN CAUSE A SERIOUS SAFTEY PROBLEM IF S BLOWOUT OCCURS STARTED A COMPLAINT WITH HONDA AND GOT NOTHING ACCOMPLISHED, THEY GAVE ME A RUN AROUND AND BLAMED THE TIRE MANUFACTURER ,IT SIMPLY AN ALIGNMENT PROBLEM THAT THEY REFUSE TO ADRESS

CRANKCASE OIL DIPSTICK READING WAY OVER FULL 3000 MILES AFTER OIL CHANGE. OIL WITH HEAVY GAS SMELL.APPARENTLY GAS SEEPING INTO CRANKCASE.
THE REAR BACKUP CAMERA STOPPED WORKING. WHEN I PUT THE CAR INTO REVERSE, THE BACKUP LIGHTS COME ON, BUT THE DISPLAY IN THE CAR STAYS ON WHAT EVER WAS DISPLAYED INSTEAD OF SHOWING WHAT IS BEHIND THE CAR. THIS STARTED LAST WEEK AND HASN'T CHANGED.
THE HONDA SENSING THAT CONTROL THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING IS DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE DOES AUTOMATIC BRAKING WITHOUT ANY OBSTACLES IN VIEW.THE FIRST INCIDENT VEHICLE TRAVELING AT 70 MPH ON THE FREEWAY AND VEHICLE APPLIED THE BRAKES ALMOST CAUSING MULTI CAR COLLISIONS. THE SECOND INCIDENT AT 40 MPH. DEALER REFUSED TO FIX. URGENT ATTENTION NEEDED. CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS PENDING ACROSS THE STATES.

WHILE DRIVING IN CRUISE CONTROL, THE BRAKE LIGHT WILL COME ON AND THE VEHICLE WILL ALMOST COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, WITH NO ONE IN FRONT OF ME. MY WIFE AND I WERE ALMOST IN AN ACCIDENT WHEN THIS HAPPENED ON I-75 AT 65 MPH. ALSO, THIS BRAKE LIGHT INDICATOR WILL COME ON WITHOUT BEING IN CRUISE. THIS HAS HAPPENED OVER 6 TIMES.
