ON 2 separate occasions, the latest being today 3 March 2024 the automatic braking system has engaged when no obstacle present.
1. CMBS (front collision detection system) has malfunctioned approximately 3-4 times over the past 3 years. 2. While operating the vehicle in different settings, front-collision will incorrectly detect something in front of the car when nothing is there and apply brakes causing the car to stop suddenly and unexpectedly. The first 2 incidents occurred in my parking structure and no one was behind me. The 3rd incident occurred while driving on a surface street in Honolulu, and again no one was ahead or behind me. The final incident occurred today ([XXX] at approximately [XXX] HST). There was no one in front and a car behind me and the CMBS flashed a warning and slammed on the brakes bringing the car to a complete stop. Car behind me was forced to stop to avoid rear-end collision. 3. I took the car in for inspection after the 3rd incident last year (Pacific Honda dealership). Vehicle was inspected, mechanic took the car for a test drive, and was unable to replicate the problem. I was told this happens and car was returned to me. 4. There were no warning lights or messages indicating a problem with the CMBS prior to these events occurring. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Bought 2019 Honda CRV in August 2023. If you unlock by fob and then hit and hold unlock within 30 seconds all windows open. I parked CRV last 2 snowstorms last spring, did not realize that fob(in pants pocket inside house) had opened all windows and car filled with snow, 2 other times seats were drenched from rain. Besides buying 2 more fobs initially, now had to spend another $120 for a chipped non fob key. Besides weather, this can allow animals or thieves easy access without your knowledge. 2020 and newer Hondas they added a disable function in vehicle menu. Honda needs to be forced to do a recall to fix this, have been told other manufacturers also do this idiocy, what are they thinking of??
The Safety Recall Notice that I have received from Honda (relating to my 2019 CRV) states that the fuel pump may fail and that could result in an accident. Then they state that the replacement parts will not be available until the Fall 2024. A copy of the recall notice is attached. I am concerned that I will be driving a vehicle, for many months, which might cause an accident. It is irresponsible of Honda to not address this issue quickly.
The Honda Collision Mitigation System (CMBS) engaged incorrectly. I was accelerating from an intersection with no cars in front of me or next to me when the car flashed the “BRAKE” warning and engaged the brakes hard causing the car to come to a nearly full stop from around 25-30 mph. Had there been a car behind me, they would have been at risk of hitting me because of the sudden nature of braking. Fortunately that didn’t happen, but the hard braking did strain my neck. This had not happened before, but in the past, I have noticed the system incorrectly flashing the “BRAKE” message when cars turn right from in front of me. I would make the vehicle available for inspection if asked, and will bring the issue to the dealership’s attention too.
The contact owned a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at 45 MPH he experienced a syncope before the crash, and the vehicle struck a telephone pole head-on. The air bags in the vehicle deployed all except the rear driver side. The contact and the rear driver-side passenger were transported to the hospital by an ambulance. The contact had a broken left hand, 3 broken ribs, seatbelt injury, partial lumbar herniation, and left shin was bruised and had an open wound. The front passenger left the scene and did not receive medical treatment until the following day, they suffered a broken right wrist. The rear passenger sustained a broken spine, massive internal injuries that required emergency surgery, and a bruised kidney however she succumbed to her injuries 3 weeks later. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the Impound lot. The insurance company towed the vehicle and deemed it totaled. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000. The VIN was unavailable.
Sometimes when you shut the car off, the fuel pump in the fuel tank continues to run. I restarted my car and shut it off and the fuel pump will stop. I'm not sure if it's a bad relay or in the wiring. I don't park near the house. Thanks

I had my cargo door up loading some things into the back of the car when the back window broke and pieces fell everywhere- on me, in the car and on the ground. Nothing came into contact with the window when it happened.
I am reaching out because I received a recall notice for my HONDA CRV 2019. I received a notice that there’s and issue with the fuel pump and I am concerned because Honda sent a notice now in February but they have known about the issue since December. I called Honda World Downey and I was told they would now be able to help me and to call back. I take this matter very seriously as I am concerned something may happen to me while I am driving the vehicle. I was told that they may be able to help me in Fall of 2024 that’s 6 plus months away. I am unsure if I should drive my vehicle. Can I please get some advice.

The NHTSA announced a recall in the fall 2023 for Honda CR-V 2018-2020 regarding the fuel pump module which may have an improperly molded impeller. The safety issue says the car may not start or may stall while driving. I travel frequently on highways, so stalling is not a pleasant outcome. On 2/13/24, I finally received a written notice from Honda indicating that my vehicle is affected. However, Honda states that parts will not be available until fall 2024! How can this be acceptable?? I don't have another vehicle to use. Do I continue driving my vehicle and hope that it does not suddenly stop?

Vehicle went into crash avoidance mode unexpectedly with no vehicles directly ahead. There was a vehicle beside me in an adjacent lane. I was traveling at about 40mph and had just completed a turn when the BRAKE warning appeared on the dash and the brakes were suddenly applied. The incident lasted for only a few seconds and the controls returned to normal. The problem this caused a sudden decrease in speed. Fortunately there were no cars nearby so I did not have any trouble. While returning home after a stop, the BRAKE warning light momentarily appeared on the dash, but this time the brakes were not applied. This has never happened before. There has been no inspection of the vehicle at this point by anyone. As a footnote. on 23 January, the windshield was replaced by Safelite Auto Glass who recalibrated the camera system as part of the service.
Car has a steering problem. After driving for a while at highway speeds, the steering "catches" or is "sticky" where it takes extra effort to make even minor adjustments. The car has been doing this for approximately 10K miles (one year) and is making us nervous about taking any long road trips at highway speeds. The car is out of warranty and the dealer is indicating the electric power steering unit is probably at fault, but will not honor a safety replacement and will charge approximately $3500 for replacement.. This certainly should be honored as a recall safety problem.
Tried to get this recall completed for about 11 months now at two different McGrath honda dealers and they continue to say they do not have the parts even when check engine light was on.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V equipped with Firestone Tires, Tire Line: Destination LE3, Tire Size: 235/60/R18, DOT Number: [XXX]. The contact stated that after the vehicle was taken to the tire dealer for tire rotation, the wheel sensor warning light illuminated. Additionally, the vehicle vibrated and made an abnormal sound while driving. The contact pulled over to inspect the tires and discovered that the front driver's side tire had been plugged with an unknown object. The vehicle was taken back to the tire dealer, where air was added to the tires. The front driver's side tire was not replaced. The tire manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The tire failure mileage was 30,000. The vehicle failure mileage was 54,000. The VIN was unavailable. In February 2024 we received a safety recall from Honda stating the fuel pump could prevent an engine from starting, cause a vehicle to lose drive power, or stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash or injury. It has been a year and we have not received any notice of replacement parts. Honda is producing new cars but cannot correct a problem with a 2019 car?!!! It should not take a year to correct this problem. The car could stop while driving and cause a crash and injury.

Warning lights kept cycling thru and dinging every half second. Took it to dealer and it is a faulty front camera in the windshield. They said they see it all the time and immediately diagnosed it. Said it is a faulty design and costs ~$1,700.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the vehicle idled extremely rough. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a misfire in cylinder #1. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to Technical Service Bulletin: 19-037. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
Rear camera stopped working, just shows a pink screen on the dashboard
The AEB system has malfunctioned on two occasions while driving the vehicle. Yes, the safety of myself & others was put at risk. The problem has not been confirmed by the dealer, but I plan on contacting the dealership this week to inform them of the issue and get more information on how to fix this problem. There has been no warning messages or other symptoms of the problem before. On both occasions where the AEB system malfunctioned, the dashboard screen lit up and said "brake" even though there was no traffic in front of my vehicle. The first time this happened was about a month ago, and the second occasion happened just yesterday afternoon.

Our 2019 Honda CRV had all warning lights on and flashing non-stop on the dash. We contacted Honda support and was asked to take car to a Honda dealer for diagnostics. We took the car to a Honda dealer in Huston TX. They found the cause DTC P0301, a internal failure to fuel injectors. We had to pay the dealer cash $$$$. We submitted the all repair documentations to Honda and asked for a reimbursement. Honda Co should have refund this repair cost!! It's so unfair that Honda denied to cover this recall repair just because somehow our car was not in the recall list!
A little over two weeks ago we took our 2019 Honda CRV to the dealership because all the indicator lights were lighting up on the dashboard. It started as I was sitting in the car with the car idling as I waited for my husband to come out of the store. We took a short video of what it was doing. The car was at the dealership the next day, but there were no indicator lights like the previous day. We shared the video with the service rep. When we picked it up we were told the fuel injectors needed to be replaced and it would cost in excess of $2,300. The car has less than 78,000 miles on it. The service rep said that if it was his car he would not drive it a distance (freeway) with this problem. That says to me that it is a safety issue. We had been concerned that it could be an electrical issue because the car was in a front-end, side-swipe collision in November 2023, and we had just gotten it back from repairs at the dealership two weeks before the indicator lights problem. The service rep assured us it was not an electrical problem. I looked up the problem on the internet. On [XXX] there were a number of other Honda CRV owners with the same problem at about the same mileage. Our safety is at risk with possible risk to friends and family because we need to drive on the freeway for daily activities. We took it to an independent automotive service location. They did not come to the same conclusion; the indicator lights were no longer on. This vehicle component has not been inspected by any others, other than already mentioned. While driving the car at highway speed the vehicle experienced a complete loss of power to all essential functions. The engine shutdown and there was no steering and loss of some of the brake functions. Multiple warnings started showing ( too many to list here ). The car came to a stop partially in the highway and we experienced several near misses by passing vehicles before we could get enough assistance to push the vehicle out of the roadway. Since this incident a simple search has shown that this is a very common problem with this vehicle. It appears that it could be a problem with the computer software. This problem has a very high potential for serious injury or death when it occurs while driving at highway speeds. Please look into this issue as soon as possible.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 73 MPH, the vehicle stalled with several unknown warning lights flashing on the instrument panel. The contact coasted the vehicle off to the shoulder of the highway. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it remained. The contact later received a notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Fuel pump inoperative
Starting at just over 36,000 miles after the last time I used LKAS there is now a stickiness in the steering. Light catches that almost seem like the LKAS is still trying to correct. I can overcome the catches, but makes the steering less comfortable than it should be and worry about worsening issue. Will be taking the car in for service but have seen may issues related to steering on this model of car, so wanted to make sure all complaints are noted by NHTSA. No warning lights are showing.

The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.
I live in Puerto RIco. I was just quoted $3,000 for new Rack and Pinion. Vehicle always maintained correctly and almost new, not even 5 years. Honda knows that this problem with the Rack and Pinions exist and is a safety concern and issue. Other three vehicles in the dealer repair shop with the same issue, one of them with only 900 miles. Other customers had to pay full price. Honda knows about this problem, a recent recall for Civics was announced for their Rack and Pinions. Many Rack and Pinions have problems and Honda has not recalled this part for CRVs. I change engine oil every 3,000 miles with high quality Synthetic oil. Honda original filter. Changed Transmission oil every 30,000 miles and coolant as well. This is a SAFETY, a costly part the Honda knows is faulty and should be recalled immediately. I'm a customer that bought this Honda CRV-Touring expecting the quality and reliability that Honda has claimed. Today I received the news of a gas pump recalled, and a prematurely faulty Rack and Pinion. This is just unbelievable. I'm writing in the hopes of some good news from Honda to replace my Rack and Pinion before an accident happens. I'm still paying for this vehicle. Waiting for your prompt response, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
All the warning lights come on. When they do, none of the features work including cruise control and advanced vehicle detection.
