The problem I have is: There is 3 recalls for my vehicle. One is the urgent as Takata airbags installed. I called local Honda dealer on 6/27/25, they order the part and I received the email stating that part arrived. I called dealer today to schedule a replacement. When I ask how long it will take, lady say about 1/2 day. When I ask if Honda will give me car to drive in that time, she stated No., but I can rent a vehicle for $75. Dealers name: Gary Smith Honda, 225 Miracle Strip SW, Fl., 32548. Is it safe to drive this car?
I heard that some honda models between 2003 and 2007 may qualify for a paint recall. The paint job on the roof is the major issue. It's been peeling and the paint is almost gone on the roof and getting rusty. It's a safety concern because my car now looks pink and that would not be helpful to law enforcement if anything happened because my car is documented as being red.

The contact owns a 2007 Honda Fit. The contact stated that the vehicle recently lost power steering functionality while pulling into the driveway. Additionally, the contact stated while the vehicle was being serviced by an independent mechanic, the mechanic informed the contact that the subframe was rusted. The vehicle was towed to the dealer to be diagnosed due to sub frame rust; however, the dealer informed the contact that the vehicle could not be diagnosed due to the severe rust. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance because the vehicle was out of warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000. The VIN was not available.
The contact owns a 2007 Honda Fit. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the power steering warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the power steering became inoperable. The contact called the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 210,000. The VIN was not available.
All honda fits have a massive water penatration issue. Water leaks from even small amounts of water from rear lift hatch from cracks in the weld seems an into car along inside on both sides in to the wheel well with spar tire. This causes high humidity and consequently massive damageing moister and rusting inside. Found to compromise electrical for tail lights and Hazzard lights. Also causeing massive sweating of water vapor that leads to obscure of ability to see through rear window and through all windows. Also massive threat to elderly and children and immune compromised people because toxic mold growth is likely to form. Honda refuses to repair say they don't care how many die because of issue. Children almost killed due to inability to see through rear window.
Headlights and taillights have gone out. Replaced bulbs and fuses. Brakelights and highbeams still functional Faulty relay most likely as a similar problem was already found on the 2002 Honda civic.
The contact owns a 2007 Honda Fit. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, the air bag warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted or notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 213,000.
The power steering indicator lights up and there is no power steering when the car is started. Sometimes the light goes out and the power steering is active after driving several miles. But, frequently the steering does not improve after 25-30 miles of driving. This makes it very difficult when trying to navigate turns, and backing up. The problem according to the mechanics is the Electronic Power Steering Module (EPS Module).
The Electronic Power steering stopped working
Both front headlights fail to work. They went out at the same time. Using high beams to drive after dark in the meantime.
Hello, I received a recall notice from Honda company on driveshaft corrosion. I did follow up with it at a Honda certified service , Napleton , Loves Park IL. Their answer was that my car doesn’t need any axles replacement. My problem is that the axels in my car are fully rusted, corrosive and this was noticed by another mechanic. I called the Napleton service to check again but they refused. I called the Honda Company Customer service and they said that there is nothing they can do. I can drive my car the way it is, no incident happen so far but I don’t feel safe. Thank you

IN FEBRUARY 2020, I WAS STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT AND WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND I WENT TO ACCELERATE I HEARD CRACKING/ BREAKING SOUND AND THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD OR BACKWARD. I NEEDED TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE AXLE HAD BROKEN. IN JANUARY 2021, NEARLY THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED. I WAS STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I WENT TO ACCELERATE I HEARD THE SAME SOUND AND THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. I HAD THE CAR TOWED I WAS INFORMED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AXLE HAD BROKEN. THE MECHANIC DESCRIBE THIS AXLE AS RUSTED AROUND ONE AREA OF THE AXEL, WHAT WOULD NORMALLY BE ABOUT THE DIAMETER OF A QUARTER IT WAS A SMALL AS THE DIAMETER OF A PENCIL.

THE LEFT CV AXEL SNAPPED AND WAS REPLACED, A WEEK LATER THE SAME ISSUE, AND NOW THE POWER IS NO LONGER DISTRIBUTING CORRECTLY, SEEMS TO BE CAUSED BY THE WAY THE AXELS ARE EXPOSED TO THE ENVIORMENT AND CONTINUOUSLY SNAP, THERE WAS NO EXCESSIVE DRIVING ON THE VEHICLE, IT ONLY TRAVELS A 10 MILE RADIUS IN THE CITY AND I VE PUT EASILY $3000 INTO IT IN THE LAST 3 MONTHS

THE CONTACT CALLED JOE ROMEO'S I-79, 6100 NANCY D DR, WESTOVER, WV 26501 AND INFORMED THE MECHANIC OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE RECALL ON THE DRIVESHAFT WAS NOT YET FINALIZED AND THAT THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE SERVICED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V770000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE MANUFACTURE WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.

I WAS TAKING A RIDE THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS AND HAD PARKED AND WHEN I TRIED TO START THE CAR THE IGNITION SWITCH WOULDN'T TURN LIKE IT WAS LOCKED, I WAS BY MY SELF, AND IT STARTED RAINING AND MY WINDOW WAS DOWN , I COULDN'T GET AHOLD OF ANYONE WHO COULD COME HELP ME SO I HAD TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO START THE CAR A DIFFERENT WAY WHICH I HAD TO USE WHATEVER I HAD HANDY ,,WELL IT TOOK A WHOLE DAY AND MORE FOR ME TO FINALLY GET IT STARTED, WHEN I DID I START SMELLING BURNING , I WAS FREAKING OUT , WHEN I NOTICED IT WAS COMING FROM MY WINDOW SWITCH, I STARTED TRYING TO GET THE FIRE TO STOP AND I SHUT OFF THE CAR. Motor mounts bust causing shaking alot of reports on YouTube. Airbag passenger turns off at times no apparent reason. Sometimes with bag in seat or nothing at all. Motor mounts are bad in these cars won't last 100 thousand miles bolts break if it doesn't get fixed automatically. Antioch brake system slides when slammed on breaks in no rain
HEADLIGHTS DO NOT WORK ON LOW BEAM...HIGH BEAM ONLY. HAD A MECHANIC WORK ON IT, BUT DID NOT FIX IT. THERE WAS A RECALL ON 2007 HONDA FITS BECAUSE OF POOR WIRING RUBBING AGAINST METAL AND LIGHTS DON'T WORK.
2007 HONDA FIT HEADLIGHT RECALL, THEY FIXED THE ISSUE IN 2011 BUT IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN AND ONE HONDA DEALERSHIP SAID THERE'S NOTHING MORE THEY CAN DO???? IS THERE SOMETHING THAT CAN BE DONE TO HAVE IT FIXED AGAIN AS PART OF THE RECALL.IT DOESN'T SEEM IT WAS FIXED RIGHT
NOTHING ACTUALLY "HAPPENED" WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE CAR. MY AIRBAG LIGHT WENT ON AND WOULD NOT SHUT OFF, SO I VISITED HENNESSEY HONDA IN WOODSTOCK, GEORGIA, FOR SERVICE. I AM PERPLEXED THAT I NEED TO REPLACE A PASSENGER AIRBAG FOR ALMOST $700. A RECALL WAS ISSUED THREE YEARS AGO, AND I HAD A CANISTER REPLACED ON THE 2007 HONDA FIT, DUE TO A RECALL. LAST WEEK I LOOKED ON THE NHTSA RECALL LIST AND FOUND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG INFLATOR RECALL LIST FROM JUNE 27, 2019, AND THE 2007-2008 HONDA FIT IS LISTED. WHEN I PUT IN MY VIN INTO THE LIST, IT INDICATES THAT I HAVE 0 RECALLS. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY I WOULD NOT QUALIFY FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. IF THE AIRBAG PRODUCT WAS DEFECTIVE, I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR FOR A NEW ONE. I WANTED TO FILE A COMPLAINT TO MAKE SURE NHTSA KNOWS THAT THESE AIRBAGS STILL NEED REPAIRS, AND PERHAPS HONDA SHOULD BE PRESSURED BY NHTSA TO COMPLETE THESE REPAIRS FREE OF CHARGE. THANK YOU.
OEM CV AXLES HAVE DETERIORATED AND BROKEN WHILE IN MOTION ON A BUSY CITY STREET! CAUSING THE CAR TO LOSE ALL (FORWARD & REVERSE) DRIVING CAPABILITIES, WHICH IN TURN CREATED A DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR ALL PARTIES ON THE ROAD. A BROKEN CV AXLE ALSO ADDS AN INCREASED RISK FOR TRANSMISSION DAMAGE.
THE SPARK PLUG CAME OUT OF THE CYLINDER HEAD WHILE DRIVING ALONG A CITY ROAD AT LOWER MILEAGE (20 - 30 MPH). THE SPARK PLUG RIPPED OUT THE THREADS ON THE CYLINDER HEAD, DAMAGED THE COIL PACKAGE, AND CAUSED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ONE. I SMELLED FUMES IN THE PASSENGER CABIN AND BECAME DIZZY WHILE PULLING OVER TO STOP. SMOKE STARTED COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD FROM THE COIL PACKAGE BEING MELTED. THE SPARK PLUG WAS LOST WHILE PULLING OVER.

THE CONTACT LATER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHT DEFECT MAY BE RELATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V624000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING). THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL, DESPITE THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCING THE SAME FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA FIT. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THE LOW BEAM BULBS AND FUSES WERE REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. ESKRIDGE HONDA (1030 SW 74TH, OKLAHOMA CITY, OK) WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE RECALL REMEDY FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V624000 (EXTEROIR LIGHTING) WAS COMPLETED IN 2012. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
HONDA HAS RECOGNIZED A PROBLEM WITH THE HEADLIGHT WIRING HARNESS/SWITCH CORRODING OR MELTING CAUSING THE HEAD LIGHTS TO TURN OFF INTERMITTENTLY OR NOT COME ON AT ALL. THEY HAVE SENT A RECALL FOR CERTAIN VINS FOR THIS MODEL YEAR, BUT NOT FOR ALL 2007-2008 FITS. THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED WITH MY VEHICLE AT ONLY 75,000 MILES WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. HONDA IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM BUT IS NOT REMEDYING THE SITUATION ON ALL 2007-2008 FITS, ONLY SPECIFIC VINS. THIS IS A DANGEROUS PRACTICE, DRIVING WITH NO HEADLIGHTS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AT NIGHT. I HAVE CONTACTED HONDA BUT THEY WILL NOT FIX THE ISSUE BECAUSE THEY CLAIM THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY. THESE VINS SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE SAME RECALL FOR THE OTHER 2007-08 VINS.
TAKATA RECALL. RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER IN THE MAIL FROM AMERICAN HONDA. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO STEVENS CREEK HONDA ONE MONTH AGO. THE TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD NEED APPROVAL FROM HONDA TO DO THE RECALL. STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED AN APPROVAL TO GET THE RECALL DONE. IS THERE ANYTHING YOU CAN DO TO HELP ME WITH THIS SITUATION?
RIGHT HALF SHAFT FAILED DUE TO SALTY WINTER ROAD WATER ENTERING THE AREA BETWEEN THE SHAFT DAMPER AND THE SHAFT, GRADUALLY CORRODING THE SHAFT UNTIL THERE WAS NO LONGER ENOUGH SOUND METAL LEFT TO TRANSMIT TORQUE TO THE WHEEL. THE SHAFT FAILED WHILE LEAVING A STOPLIGHT; IF IT HAD FAILED AT HIGHWAY SPEED, IT LIKELY WOULD HAVE BEEN DISASTROUS. FROM WHAT I CAN FIND ON A HONDA FIT FORUM, THIS SEEMS TO BE A FAIRLY FREQUENT FAILURE MODE FOR BOTH FITS AND CIVICS. I HAVE THREE OTHER PHOTOS OF THE FAILED HALF SHAFT, BUT THEY ARE A BIT TOO LARGE TO UPLOAD. I ALSO RETAINED THE FAILED PART.

A MANUFACTURER REPRESENTATIVE AT THE RECALL CENTER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE FRONTAL DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE SCHEDULING DEPARTMENT REFUSED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE AIR BAG REPLACED. THE DEALER (RICK CASE HONDA, EAST 200TH STREET, EUCLID, OHIO, 216-416-6700) STATED THAT THE FRONTAL DRIVER'S AIR BAG WOULD EVENTUALLY NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S AIR BAG WAS REPLACED BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
IT SEEMS TO BE THE SAME AS THE RECALL PROBLEM #10V624000, HOWEVER, MY VIN ISN'T LISTED ON RECALL INFO SITE. MY LOW BEAMS ARE NOT WORKING BUT THE HIGH BEAMS STILL FUNCTION. I NOTICFED IT WHEN I TRIED TO TURN THEM ON AT NIGHT. I DON'T KNOW WHAT MIGHT HAVE CAUSED IT OTHER THAN A DEFECT.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WATER ACCUMULATED IN THE REAR WHEEL WELL ON THE PASSENGER, AND THE REAR SEAT AND CARPETING WAS SOAKED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY A FRACTURE ALONG THE WELD FOR THE REAR HATCH HINGES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000.
I HAD WATER COLLECTING IN THE SPARE TIRE COMPARTMENT AND I STARTED TO RESEARCH ON LINE DISCOVERING THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE 2007 FIT (WHAT I DRIVE) A HAIR LINE CRACK/FISSURE IN THE WELD ON THE BACK REAR WELD NEAR THE HATCH HINGE ON BOTH SIDES THAT MOVES UP TOWARDS THE ROOF WEATHER STRIPING. I WAS ABLE TO RESEAL IT MYSELF (TIME WILL TELL), BUT THIS HAS TO BE A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. MOLD AND MILDEW ONLY COULD BE DANGEROUS LET ALONE WHAT STRUCTURAL DAMAGE IT COULD BE CAUSING LONG TERM. A POSSIBLE RECALL WORRY IMO.
BATTERY IN MY 2007 HONDA FIT SPORT CONSTANTLY NEEDS REPLACING I HAVE NEVER BOUGHT ANY OTHER BATTERY BUT A HONDA CERTIFIED BATTERY AND THEY ONLY LAST ABOUT A YEAR TO A YEAR AND A HALF BEFORE BEING COMPLETELY DRAINED IN SOME INSTANCES THE BATTERY ONLY LASTED SIX MONTHS I BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW IN 2006 AND HAVE SINCE HAD THE BATTERY REPLACED FIVE TIMES. ALL FIVE TIMES I HAVE HAD A CERTIFIED HONDA DEALER REPLACE THE BATTERY AND NOTHING ELSE COULD BE FOUND WRONG WITH IT WHEN CHECKED AT THE DEALERSHIP
TURNED ON THE CAR TO SEE "D" BLINKING AND SERVICE LIGHT APPEAR. ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE DOWN MY DRIVEWAY AND AROUND NEIGHBORHOOD; THERE WAS SIGNIFICANT SHUTTERING WHEN IN MOTION (SWITCHING DEARS, REVERSING, AND IN DRIVE). HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO HONDA DEALERSHIP SINCE IT FELT UNSAFE TO DRIVE. DAMAGE (GNAWED ENGINE HARNESS ON 2 CONNECTORS) OCCURRED SEEMINGLY OVERNIGHT. ACCORDING TO DEALERSHIP RODENTS CHEWING THROUGH SOY-BASED WIRING WAS THE CAUSE. WITHOUT THE REPAIR I FELT THAT THE CAR WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND A HAZARD.
TAKATA RECALL SRS LIGHT CAME ON AT ALMOST 113,000 MILES WITH CODE 11-10 FOR DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG INFLATOR. ALL OPEN RECALLS FOR THIS VEHICLE HAVE ALREADY BEEN COMPLETED. THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG WAS RECALLED IN FITS FROM 2009-2014. ONLY THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WAS COVERED BY RECALL IN 2007 FITS.
I RECENTLY WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON WRECK, TOTALING MY CAR. THE AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED ALTHOUGH THE CAR WAS A COMPLETE LOSS FROM THE FRONTAL IMPACT. I WAS MOVING FORWARD IN A 45 MPH ZONE, AS SOMEONE RAN A STOP SIGN TO MY RIGHT. I WAS DRIVING ON A STRAIGHT HIGHWAY, ON THE INSIDE LANE.
I OWN A 2007 HONDA FIT SPORT AND JUST YESTERDAY WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED AND NOT RUNNING, I WENT TO START IT TO LEAVE WORK AND THE EPS INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON, STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AND CAR WOULD NOT START. WAS TOLD A FEW THINGS TO TRY; BYPASSING BATTERY CABLES CLEARING THE CIRCUT, CHECKED THE FUSE AND NEITHER WORKED(WORTH A TRY JUST TO SAY WE DID SO WE WOULD KNOW). FINALLY HAD IT TOWED TO AUTOMOTIVE SHOP, LEFT OVER NIGHT ONLY TO FIND OUT THE CAR STARTED RIGHT AWAY WITH NO WARNING LIGHT ON (EPS INDICATOR) FOR THE MECHANIC. THEY DROVE IT AROUND, TURNED OFF, RESTARTED AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. ALSO HOOKED UP TO THEIR CODE TOOL AND NO CODES CAME UP. MY CONCERN HERE IS THAT THIS WILL HAPPEN AGAIN TO MYSELF, MY 16 YEAR OLD SON, MY 13 YEAR OLD SON RIDING AS A PASSENGER, OR OTHER PASSENGERS WHILE DRIVING (OUR ONLY FORM OF TRANSPORTATION) AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT, HARM, INJURY, OR POSSIBLY DEATH TO OURSELVES AND OTHERS AROUND US. THIS IS NOT SAFE AND HONDA SHOULD FIX THIS ISSUE REGARDLESS OF HOW OLD THE VEHICLE IS OR THE MILEAGE. IT'S A HAZARD TO EVERY LIFE!
TAKATA RECALL HONDA REPLACED THE PASSANGER AIRBAG, BUT NOT THE DRIVER SIDE. THEY SAID IT WASN'T A TAKATA INFLATOR. THIS DID NOT MAKE SENSE TO ME. TODAY (6/12/18 ) ON THE NEWS THEY SAID MILLIONS OF THE AIRBAGS ARE STILL A SERIOUS PROBLEM AND HAVE NOT BEEN REPLACED. I JUST WANT THE TRUTH ABOUT MY CAR, WHY WOULD THEY PUT A TAKATA BAG ON ONE SIDE AND SOMETHING ELSE ON THE OTHER????
MY FRIENDS 2007 HONDA FIT DRIVER SEAT IS BROKEN, IT IS STUCK IN THE POSITION WHERE MY CHEST IS ABOUT 5 INCHES FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. LOOKING UNDER MY SEAT I FOUND A 10 INCH CABLE IS FRAYED AND BROKEN, NOT ALLOWING THE SEAT TO SLIDE FORWARD OR BACKWARD. SEARCHING ON GOOGLE, I SEE THIS IS A NOTORIOUS ISSUE WITH MY YEAR HONDA FIT. THE PART NUMBER IS; MANUFACTURER:HONDA PART NUMBER:81673-SLN-A01 PART:CABLE, L WALK-IN CONTROL IT'S A 15$ PART, TRYING TO ORDER IT FROM HONDA THEY SAY THE CABLE IS INTEGRATED WITH THE SEAT PAN, AND THE SEAT PAN COST IS ROUGHLY 300$. HONDA MOTOR COMPANY SAYS THERE IS NO CAMPAIGN FOR THIS ISSUE. SO I WANTED TO ADDRESS YOU OF MY SAFETY CONCERN. IS THERE EVEN A PROCEDURE FOR THEM TO INSPECT THE SEAT CABLES OF A SEAT PAN? IF I WAS TRAVELING AND HAD TO SLIDE MY SEAT UP OR BACK AND THE CABLE BREAKS WITHOUT WARNING, WHICH IS WHAT HAPPENED. I WOULD NATURALLY DRIVE HOWEVER WAY I CAN TO GET TO MY DESIRED DESTINATION. IF I WAS INVOLVED IN A WRECK AND I ALREADY CAN BARELY GET MY KNEES UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL GETTING OUT, WHAT WOULD HAPPEN TO INCASE OF AN EMERGENCY. I HOPE YOU CAN SEE WHERE I'M COMING FROM AND INVESTIGATE THIS NOTORIOUS ISSUE WITH THIS YEAR MAKE AND MODEL.
CAR HAS DEVELOPED CRACKS ON THE WELDING AROUND BOTH FRONT STRUTS MOUNTS. THIS ARE CLEAR SIGNS OF METAL FATIGUE ON A CAR THAT IS LESS THAN 10 YEARS OLD. CAR HAS ZERO ACCIDENT AND THERE IS NO RUST OR SIGNS OF ANY OTHER FACTOR THAT MAY HAD AFFECTED THE STRUCTURE. THIS CRACKS ARE A THREAT TO THE DRIVER'S SAFETY BECAUSE THE STRUT MAY PERFORATE THE BODY/FRAME OF THE CAR AND HIT THE WINDSHIELD WHILE ON THE ROAD. THIS CRACKS ARE VERY HARD TO FIND DUE TO THE LOCATION WERE ARE DEVELOPED, AND THERE ARE NOT OTHER FACTORS THAT MAY WARN THE DRIVER ABOUT THE ISSUE. THIS METAL FATIGUE CRACKS LOOK EXACTLY AS THE DESCRIBED BY MULTIPLE OWNERS ON THE REAR OF THE CAR. THE BIG DIFFERENCE, IS THAT THE CRACKS ON THE REAR OF THE CAR ONLY CAUSE WATER TO LEAK INTO THE TRUNK, WITH IS NOT A BIG SAFETY CONCERN. HONDA STATED THAT BECAUSE THE CAR IS ALREADY OUT OF WARRANTY THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT.
VEHICLE IN MOTION ON STREET. LEFT FRONT AXLE BROKE. LOST POWER, CLUNKING NOISE. REQUIRED TOW AND REPLACEMENT OF AXLE.
I WAS PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT ONTO A MAJOR INTERSECTION, AND THE RIGHT DRIVE SHAFT OF MY 2007 HONDA FIT BROKE. I WAS ACCELERATING AT A LOW SPEED TO PULL OUT INTO THE INTERSECTION. I HAD TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED OFF TO A REPAIR SHOP, WHICH WAS CLOSED FOR THE DAY SINCE IT WAS AFTER 5PM WHEN THIS HAPPENED. THIS WAS A MAJOR INCONVENIENCE, AND THANKFULLY I COULD GET A RIDE HOME AND A RENTAL THE NEXT DAY. THE OTHER DRIVE SHAFT WAS JUST AS BAD, AND THE TOTAL REPAIR COST WAS AROUND $600.
