I bought the 2005 Odyssey van in 12/2015. It now has 192,426 miles on it. Three or four times every year since I bought it, the engine will suddenly surge when coming to a stop sign or light, with my right foot on the brake pedal, braking and slowing the van for the stop sign or light. The engine revs to about 5000 or 6000 RPMs. It is as if the engine is flooring the gas pedal. Every time, I have been able to push the brake pedal down hard, even though the car continues to slowly roll forward, and shove it into neutral. I have to then tap the gas pedal to stop the engine accelerating. It then goes back to idling normally. Note, it even happened to me one time when I put it into reverse while parking! So very scary each and every time it happens. On [XXX], I took the van to Don Jacobs Honda Dealership, Lexington, KY. They said there were no reports of this ever happening to anyone else. They charged me $3216.06, with most of the cost for a new timing belt/water pump and a valve adjustment. When their repairs did not solve the problem, I called them. They said they would like to put a monitor on the van and drive it until the surge happened again. I told them to let me drive the van with the monitor, as the next surge might not happen for several months, and I needed to drive the van on a daily basis for work. They said they weren't allowed to let customers use the monitor! I finally had time today to research the surging problem. I noticed on [XXX] that this problem with Honda has never been figured out or fixed! And it keeps happening on even newer Honda Odysseys! I now have the resources to quit driving this van. I would be willing to donate the van to the NHTSA so that they may research and try to figure out how to stop this defect! No telling how many people have been injured or killed due to this defect. The engine VCM system is burning oil and destroying emissions systems on the vehicle. Catalytic converters are mainly affected as burned oil goes through the exhaust system. The check engine light comes on and the the engine starts to misfire and very abrupt engine vibrations make it into the cabin.
The transmission was making noise and missing and the vehicle was not picking up speed.
I Purchased Cooper Evolution M+S 235/65 R16 tires that I purchased from Tire kingdom at 220 Linto BLVD Delray Beach FL. 33444. The set of tires have low miles on them and tread wear is great. When I got the tires I felt a vibration in the tires from the front pretty quickly. I had my whole front end of my car replaced including beairings, no help. So I spent money and replaced the 2 front tires with the same tires and they were very young tires and a wheel alignment and the shaking was mitigated in the front but the car still vibrated slightly. The wheel alignment had the steering wheel off center so I went back another wheel alignment to correct and I mention to them the car is vibrating still if they can inspect the tires and when we looked the front LH tire had tread seperation which looked like someone took a knife andtried to carve the tread at the seem off the tire it went in about 3 inches plus. Tire kingdom accused me of hitting something I was like we barley drive this car and why would and I hit absolutely nothing. So they analyzed it and prorated me another tire of the same brand. So now we are on 7 new tires for one mini van that barely gets driven. I went to Orlando and my back rear of the van was vibrating the last 10 miles I had to take the side streets. I went to Walmart and purchased brand new Good years for my van and there is now zero vibration I love it. My my van has been vibrating the day I got the Cooper Evolutions and I went through 7 tires a new front end and replaced rear spindles because I could believe tire with such amazing tread life would vibrate a car like that. If I went for a prorated #8 tire I would still have vibrations. I called cooper tires to complian they gave me a claim number 2003880477 and said bring to tire kindom who refused the tires. We called back Cooper who only again said bring to tire kingdom . I have all 4 tires waiting to be inspected with the 4th tire completly out of shape without air in it. Tire kindome no help
The contact owns a Dorel Disney Baby Car Seat, Model Name: Light ‘N Comfy 35, Manufactured Date: August 06, 2021, installed in a 2005 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated while placing the car seat onto the base in the vehicle, the car seat would not latch securely. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the car seat was not included in a recall. The car seat was not replaced.
The sliding doors would not open by any of the control switches and would not open manually to allow persons seated in back two rows to exit in emergency.
Van turns off while driving after front lights is turn on or radio with charging a phone
While servicing the timing components I notice the timing belt not damage. But the tensioner was out of place with a bolt broken and the other was missing like it was never bolted
I have a 2005 Honda Odyssey. About 6 months ago the drivers side sliding door fell off the tracks. This happened while we were trying to close the door but it would not slide at all. We were out at a restaurant and it was imperative that the door had to be shut because it was not safe to drive in that condition. We were able to somewhat put it back on but it can not be used at all at this time. When the door fell off, it gouged the side of the van, damaged the gas filler door, and the rear door is hard to close. I don't know if its closed or not until I get in the car and see that the indicator light on. Also, the car alarm goes off on its own even though my son disabled it. It's very disruptive. After do some research, I have learned that this is an ongoing problem with Honda Odysseys. Honda needs to be held responsible because this is obviously a manufacturer defect. I can not afford to spend $1000 to replace it nor should it have to spend money to fix it.
The contact owns a 2005 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated while driving approximately 25 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power, power steering and braking functionality before the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to coast into a parking lot. The contact did not notice any warning lights being illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed to her residence. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the drive belt needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle had become difficult to turn with the occasional recurring loss of power steering functionality. The contact related the steering failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 05V039000 (Steering). The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 190,000.
The contact owns a 2005 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated while driving 30 mph, the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The contact pulled over and had the vehicle towed to her residence. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was diagnosed with needing a power steering line to be replaced. The local mechanic repaired the vehicle however, the failure recurred. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA campaign number: 05V039000 (Steering) however, the Vin was not included. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.
I haven’t had the 2005 Honda Odyssey ex for a year and the transmission won’t shift into higher gears and when it does it jumps
AIRBAG LIGHT STAYING ON AT ALL TIMES-FAILED VA SAFETY INSPECTION
ON 05 HONDA ODYSSEY TOURING AT 170,000 THE VEHICLE WILL BECOME SO POWERLESS. WONT SHIFT. LET IT COOL DOWN EVEN WITH A EXTRA TRANNY COOLER AND CLEANED THE SYLENOIDS AND REPLACED TRANSMISSION FILTER AND FLUID DID A FLUSH TO. IT STILL IS GUTTLESS. I HAVE DONE EXACTLY WHAT IT SAYS TO DO, NOTHING CHANGES. DID HAVE TRANNY BLOWING OUT TRANNY FLIUID AND GOT THAT FIXED . AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE FOR A TIME FRAME AND THE FLUID GET HOT THE VEHICLE THEN LOOSES ALL ITS POWER. THIS IS BAD AND IT MUST BE RECALLED .
TRANSMISSION FLUID BLEW OUT AND HAD GAVE ME NO POWER . SMELLS BUT HAVE RINSED/FLUSHED THE LINES AND TRANNY THROUGH ALREADY,PLUS INSTALLED A NEW TRANSMISSION COOLER RADIATOR NO ISSUES AND DROVE AWHILE THEN GO DRIVE AROUND SOME MORE ALLL GOOD THEN I GO UP A HILL AND BOOM AND IT STILL IS HAPPENING. WE HAVE LOOKED IT OVER CANT FIGURE IT OUT. HELP PLEASE

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LYNNWOOD HONDA (22020 HWY 99, EDMONDS, WA 98026) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 132,000.
The contact owns a 2005 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the battery would intermittently drain overnight while the vehicle was turned off. The contact had taken the vehicle to several dealers including New Century Honda (1235 S Brand Blvd, Glendale, CA 91204), AutoNation Honda Valencia (23551 Magic Mountain Pkwy, Valencia, CA 91355) and several independent mechanics who replaced the battery; however, the mechanics were unable to determine the cause of the failure. The contact stated that the battery would last for a three to six-month period before the failure would occur again. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. Upon his own investigation, the contact stated that the failure may be linked to the rear driver sliding door after the door failed to open electronically, and could only be opened manually. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000. The contact states that there is an issue with the rear sliding door. This may be the cause of the battery drainage since the door often cannot be electrically opened, only manually.
YES WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE I WAS MISSING A FEW FUSES, MY BACK LEFT DOOR WON'T OPEN OR CLOSE ON MY CAR DISPLAY IT ALWAYS SHOWS THAT THE BACK LEFT DOOR IS ALWAYS OPEN. ALSO THE CAR WAS MISSING A BREAK PAD ON THE FRONT LEFT WHEEL. IT'S ALSO MISSING THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. THE DVD PLAYER DOESN'T WORK IT ALWAYS SAYS ERROR. AND THE CAR IS MISSING ALL MOTOR MOUNTS SO BASICALLY MY MOTOR IS JUST HANGING ON TOP OF CABLES IN MY CAR. THE GPS DISPLAY WAS ALSO MISSING AND MY FRONT RIGHT WINDOW DOESN'T CLOSE ALL THE WAY UP. THE MAJOR #1 ISSUE IS THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS IN MY CAR. I HAVE 2 CHILDREN I'M SCARED ON DAY EVERYTHING IS FINE & THEN ONE DAY IT'S NOT WITH MY KIDS IN THE CAR GOD FORBID. OH YEAH AND THE MIDDLE ROW LEFT SEAT DOESN'T LEAN FORWARD OR BACK.
2005 ODYSSEY TOURING MODEL BEARINGS WEAR AND COME LOOSE CAUSING ROD KNOCKING
THE DOOR WAS NOT OPEINING PROPERLY SO I WHENT TO OPEN MANUALLY ANTHE HEAVY DOOR CAME OFF THE VAN SCRACHED THE HELL OUT OF MY VAN AND HURT ME TRYING TO HOLD IT AS NOT TO SCRACH THE VAN I WAS ALONE AND THERE WAS NO ONE TO HELP ME THIS IS VERY DANGERIOUS AND IVE READ IT HAPPENS OFTEN I CAN NO LONGER USE THE DOOR AS IT KEEPS HAPPINING
THE VAN DIE WHILE DRIVING AFTER ABOUT 2 HOURS. IF YOU WAIT AN HOUR IT WILL RESTART AND DRIVE FOR ANOTHER 2 HOURS THEN WILL DIE AGAIN WHILE DRIVING.
THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. MY DRIVERS SIDE PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR FELL OFF AND WAS HANGING BY THE CABLE USED TO SHUT IT. THANK GOD IT HAPPENED TO ME ON BOTH OCCASIONS AS THE DOOR IS VERY HEAVY. I HAVE SEEN OTHER PEOPLE STATING THE SAME THING HAS HAPPENED TO THEM. I BOUGHT THIS VAN AND IT HAD A SIMPLE PROBLEM THAT WE FIXED.. IT STILL WOULDN'T STAY RUNNING.. I DEAD ON THE INTERSTATE 3 TIMES.. I DEAD ON A MAIN HWY 5 TIMES.. HAD TO LEAVE THE VAN IN A PARKING LOT 5 TIMES.. IVE HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE HOUSE BC WE CANT GET IT TO STAY RUNNING 3 TIMS....I BELIEVE ITS ONE OF THE RECALL SINCERER .. MAYBE.. OR MAYB THE FUEL PUMP.. BUT I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE WHAT NEEDS TO BE.. REPLACED SO I CAN ENJOY MY VAN AGAIN...
THE SLIDING DOORS FELL OF THE HINGES OR GET STUCK BEFORE THAT HAPPENED
SUBARU/HONDA DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE SECONDARY SAFETY RECALL FOR FUEL PUMP MODULE, POSSIBLE FIRE AND EXPLOSION. ($710.31 REPAIR ESTIMATE) DEALERSHIP INSPECTION SHOWED ADDITIONAL SAFETY ISSUES/REPAIRS NEEDED TO STEERING AND AXLES THAT EXCEEDED $6,000.00 IN REPAIRS. VEHICLE PURCHASED AND SOLD WITH NO CONCERN FOR SAFETY OR DEPENDABILITY. ALL TRUST VIOLATED, WE CAN NOT TRUST THIS DEALERSHIP WITH REPAIR OR SERVICE OF OUR VEHICLES. DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE EVEN AFTER INVESTIGATION BY THE OHIO ATTORNEY GENERAL. WE REQUESTED AN INVESTIGATION AS TO HOW A VEHICLE WITH SO MANY SAFETY AND REPAIR ISSUES WAS SOLD TO US AS A WELL MAINTAINED VEHICLE WITH NO ISSUES. PREVIOUS REPAIRS EXCEEDED $8,000.00. ALL DOCUMENTATION IS WITH THE OAG.
THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN FROM EITHER THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE LATCH EVEN THOUGH UNLOCKED AS THE DOOR LOCK KNOB WAS UP. THIS PROBLEM WAS OBSERVED ABOUT MID DECEMBER 2019. TOOK IT TO A HONDA DEALER, SOUTH TACOMA HONDA, AND THEY COULD NOT OPEN THE DOOR EITHER. THEY SAID THE INTERIOR PANEL WOULD NEED TO BE DESTROYED TO ACCESS THE MECHANISMS AND REPAIR. HAD THE REPAIR DONE BY SOUTH TACOMA HONDA WHO REPLACED THE INTERIOR DOOR PANEL BECAUSE THEY HAD TO TEAR IT OUT, LATCH AND ACTUATOR FOR $1,092.56. THEY DID NOT KNOW WHY THE ACTUATOR AND LATCH FAILED. I'M CONCERNED THIS COULD OCCUR WITH THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR TOO. IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE IF THE DOOR(S) WON'T OPEN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE STATED THAT THE HORN FAILED TO FUNCTION. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND REMAINED ILLUMINATED WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONTAL AIR BAG NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, TO REMEDY THE FAILURE OF THE HORN. THE TECHNICIAN REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA FOR ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE 179,000.
FAILURE OF HIGH BEAM, RUNNING LIGHTS, DIRECTIONAL SIGNALS, POWER DOOR LOOKS, INTEMITTENT WIPERS. FAILED SAFETY INSPECTION. MECHANIC WORKED ALL DAY COULD FIND THE PROBLEM. I DROVE IT HOME. A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER IT WAS WORKING. I BROUGHT IT BACK TO GET A INSPECTION STICKER. ALL GOOD. WORKED FOR ABOUT A WEEK THEN STOPPED WORKING. I REALILIZED THE ONLY DIFFERENCE WAS THAT OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE. IT FAILED IN THE COLD. I RAN THE HEATER IN THE CAR FOR ABOUT AN HOUR ON MAX HEAT. STILL NO GOOD. A FEW DAYS LATER WHILE WALKING BY I PRESSED THE DOOR OPEN BUTTON ON THE KEY RING AND THEY WORKED , I JUMPED IN AND TRIED THE DIRECTIONALS, HIGH BEAM, RUNNING LIGHTS AND POWER DOOR LOCKS. A FEW DAYS LATER THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE DROPPED AND IT STOPPED WORKING. TODAY (MILDER WEATHER) I TRIED IT WASN'T WORKING. I TURNED ON THE HEAT TO HIGH AND THE HEATED SEATS AND LEFT RUNNING FOR AN HOUR. WHEN RETURNING I FOUND THE INTEMITTENT WIPERS WERE RUNNING AND SO WAS EVERYTHING ELSE. THIS A SAFETY ISSUE. IF YOU WENT OUT IN THE DAY AND IT GOT COLD WHILE PARKED AND ISSUE CAME BACK ,YOU WOULD NOT HAVE RUNNING LIGHTS, HIGH BEAMS, AND NO DIRECTIONAL SIGNALS. I THINK THERE ARE OTHER ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS THAT ALSO DONT WORK. THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES. I LIVE IN THE NORTHEAST AND THE WEATHER IS NOW COLD. NEVER KNOW WHEN THIS WILL HAPPEN. THIS HAPPENS TYPICALLY WHEN IN THE MORNING.
MY AIRBAG LIGHT IS CONSTANTLY ON NOW. IS IT DEFECTIVE OR IS THIS A COMMON EVENT WITH THIS VEHICLE???
MY WIFE AND KIDS WERE AT THE STORE. THE DRIVER REAR DOOR OPENED JUST FINE AND CLOSED. SHE CAME OUT PUT THE KIDS IN THE CAR. SHE TRIED TO CLOSE THE DOOR IT POPPED RIGHT OFF THE TRACK. WORST PART IS IT WAS SEVERE THUNDER STORMS SO FAMILY WAS STRANDED UNTIL MY BROTHER COULD GET THERE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! THANKFUL SHE WASN'T DRIVING

A FAMILY FRIEND ATTACHED THE DOOR WITH A RATCHET AND THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME. THE CONTACT CALLED ECONOMY HONDA SUPERSTORE (LOCATED AT 6001 LEE HWY, CHATTANOOGA, TN 37421, (423) 381-6429), BUT THEY DID NOT ASSIST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 235,000.
SLIDE DOOR CAME OFF IT'S TRACK AND FELL OFF COMPLETELY. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND LEFT OUR FAMILY STRANDED. WE WERE STATIONARY AND SIMPLY OPENING THE DOOR TO LEAVE.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT ACTING WEIRD FOR COUPLE DAYS AND THEN WENT OFF COMPLETE, AND THEY HAVE A SOUND VERY CLEAR ON SUSPICION THE FRONT AND THE DRIVER SIDE , AND THE HEAD LIGHTS THE DRIVER SIDE ALWAYS BEEN DISCONNECTED THEY HAVE POWER ELECTRIC ISSUE
SLIDING DOORS WILL NOT LATCH PROPERLY AND OPEN GOING DOWN THE ROAD.
TRANSMISSION CURRENTLY VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 88,000 MILES AND TRANSMISSION IS ABOUT READY TO FAIL COMPLETELY HARD GEAR SHIFTING AND WHEN SHIFTING FROM PARK TO REVERSE OR DRIVE TRANSMISSION MAKES A BIG METAL CLUNK AND HARSH MOVEMENT OF VEHICLE
ENGINE MOUNT FAILURE, LOOKING AT A 2000 DOLLAR REPAIR TO REPLACE, SEEMS IS A COMMON PROBLEM NEEDS ATTENTION. HAS CAUSED AN ADDITIONAL MOUNT TO FAIL , AND IS AFFECTING THE TRANSMISSION MOUNTS AS WELL
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN MY HOOD FLEW UP AND SHATTERED MY WINDSHIELD. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, IT WAS FOUND THAT THE HOOD LATCH MECHANISM HAD SCREWS MISSING AND ONE SCREW VERY LOOSE LEFT IN PLACE. THE HOOD LATCH MECHANISM FREELY MOVED AROUND WHICH IS APPARENTLY HOW THE HOOD BECAME UNLATCHED AND BROKE THE WINDSHIELD. ON THE INTERSTATE DOING 50MPH ON THE MARQUETTE INTERCHANGE THIS CREATED AN UNSAFE CONDITION BECAUSE I WAS UNABLE TO SEE ANYTHING ONCE THE HOOD WAS UP AND HAD TO BRAKE IMMEDIATELY TO KEEP FROM CRASHING INTO ANYTHING POSSIBLY IN FRONT OF ME. THIS ALSO COULD HAVE CAUSED SOMEONE ELSE TO CRASH INTO ME. I ALSO COULDN'T SEE DUE TO THE HOOD. I HAD TO USE MY SIDE WINDOW AND MIRRORS TO MANEUVER MYSELF TO THE EMERGENCY LANE, TIE THE HOOD DOWN WITH A CORD. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN? HOW DO SCREWS LOOSEN ON THE LATCH TO THE FRAME OF THE VEHICLE?
WE BOUGHT A CAR YESTERDAY 05/15 FROM EVERGREEN MOTORS IN TACOMA AND HE CLAIMED THAT THE CAR HAD SMALL PROBLEMS BUT TODAY WE FIND THAT IT HAS TRANSMISSION SERIOUS PROBLEMS WE BRING IT BACK AND HE REFUSED TO HELP US AND ASKED US IMPOLITELEY TO LEAVE
I HAVE A 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY TOURING. FOR THE LAST COUPLE MONTHS, MY PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DOESN'T WORK WHEN I START MY CAR (PIC'S ATTACHED). BECAUSE OF THIS I STARTED RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM. I THEN FOUND ALL THE MAJOR AIR BAG PROBLEMS. I PUT IN MY VIN, BUT THE MSG I GET IS THAT IT DOESN'T AFFECT MY CAR, BECAUSE I'M REGISTERED IN CA. HOWEVER IT DOES SAY ONE OF THE CAUSES IS EXCESSIVE HEAT. I LIVE IN SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY & THE HEAT FOR THE PAST MO. HAS BEEN 100 DEGREES OR ABOVE, & WHEN THE CAR IS CLOSED UP I'M SURE THE MINIMUM INSIDE IS ABOVE 125 DEGREES & WHEN THE PROBLEM STARTED. WHEN YOU ARE REPLACING MILLIONS OF AIR BAGS, I BELIEVE YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY INCLUDE ONES THAT ARE EXPERIENCING CURRENT PROBLEMS. THANK YOU
2005 HONDA ODYSSEY '-THE SLIDING DOORS FELL OFF !!!!!!. I RESEARCHED AND DISCOVERED A NUMEROUS AMOUNT OF PROBLEMS WITH THE SLIDING DOORS. THERE IS A RECALL FOR NEWER MODELS AND THEY TOO HAVE THE EXACT SAME ISSUES. THE PROBLEMS RANGE FROM A GRINDING NOISE , AUTO DOORS NOT OPENING COMPLETELY THAN CLOSING. TO THE BACK OF THE DOOR SLIGHTLY OPENING THEN THE BEEPING INDICATOR IS CONSTANTLY ON WHILE DRIVING. THE BATTERY IS BEING DRAINED BECAUSE THE DOORS NEVER CLOSE COMPLETELY. THE CENTER ROLLERS ARE CHEAP PLASTIC WHICH I BELIEVE CAUSES THE GRINDING NOISE. ONCE THEY WEAR OUT IT GETS WORSE. THESE ARE NOT SOME ISOLATED COMPLAINTS!! THERE ARE TOO MANY OTHERS WITH EVERY YEAR OF THE ODYSSEY THAT HAVE THESE ISSUES !! AND NOW I FINALLY SEE A RECALL. ALL THESES ISSUES HAVE HAPPENED DURING DIFFERENT TIMES. SOME WHILE STATIONARY. SOME WHILE DRIVING. THE WORST ONE WHERE THE DOOR LITERALLY FELL OFF WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVE WAY. (THANK GOD) I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AND RIGGED MY DOOR BUT IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. WHY WAS THIS NOT RECALLED A LONG TIME AGO?? THERE ARE TOO MANY COMPLAINTS TO IGNORE THIS !! THE NEWER MODELS HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM . I OWNED AN ACCORD FOR 14 YEARS OVER 300,000 MILES. THE BEST CAR I EVER HAD. THAN BOUGHT THIS 2005 ODYSSEY AND JUST RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2018 CRV EX. IT'S WRONG THAT HONDA DOES NOT BACK UP THEIR REPUTATION.

PASSENGER SLIDING REAR DOOR FELL OFF TRACK AFTER HAVING PROBLEMS CLOSING BOTH AUTOMATICALLY AND MANUALLY. PLASTIC ROLLERS SEEM TO HAVE FALLEN APART. DRIVERS SLIDING DOOR MAKES WEIRD NOISES & DOES NOT CLOSE PROPERLY IN EITHER AUTOMATIC OR MANUAL MODE. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WHEN THE DOOR FELL OFF THE TRACK & WAS HANGING BY THE CABLE.

MY VEHICLE DOES WHEN ITS SITTING AFTER A DAY. SOMETHING SEEMS TO BE DRAINING THE BATTERY. I THINK IT'S THE DOORS.
TWICE IN 3 DAYS VEHICLE REFUSED TO START IMMEDIATELY AFTER HAVING TURNED IT OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES , SEVERAL TRIES PRODUCED NO RESULTS , JUMPING IT PRODUCED NO RESULTS , IT ACTED AS IF THERE WAS NO BATTERY IN THE VEHICLE WHERE THE STARTER WAS CONCERNED , HOWEVER ALL OTHER FUNCTIONS REQUIRING ELECTRICITY WERE OPERATING NORMALLY ,THE NEXT DAY THE VEHICLE STARTED NORMALLY FOR THE REPAIR SHOP OR FOR MYSELF . BOTH TIMES THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED ON LEVEL GROUND .
MY REAR POWER SLIDING DOORS HAVE FAULTY DOOR LATCHES. WHILE IN GEAR I MUST TURN OFF THE POWER TO MY DOORS TO AVOID A VERY LOUD CONSTANT BEEP. THIS HOWEVER DOES NOT HELP TO KEEP MY DOORS CLOSED. WHILE DRIVING BOTH REAR DOORS HAVE OPENED AT LEAST 25 TIMES WITHIN THE PAST WEEK WHILE MY CHILDREN WERE IN THE VEHICLE! IT CAUSES MY LIGHTS TO COME ON AND MY DOORS WILL NOT LOCK. I HAVE EVEN TRIED TO KEEP MY DOORS LOCKED AND THEY STILL OPEN UP REGARDLESS. THIS BEGAN HAPPENING ON DECEMBER 22, 2018 AND HAS CONTINUED DAILY SINCE.
WHEN IT GET COLD WEATHER THE SLIDING DOORS OPEN WHILE DRIVING WHAT IF KIDS ARE SITTING THERE HAS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES I FIXED IT BUT EVERY YEAR SAME PROBLEM WITH COLD AND FREEZING WEATHER DOORS DON'T CLOSE AND IF THEY DO WHILE DRIVING WILL OPEN BY THEM SELF IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME ON HIGHWAY AND REGULAR STREET MY KIDS WERE SITTING RIGHT BY THEM WHEN DOOR OPENED THANK GOD THEY WERE IN SEATBELTS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY. WHILE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY ACCELERATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE USING THE BRAKES. THE CONTACT SHIFTED INTO PARK AND TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND OPERATED AS INTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MAIN LINE HONDA (LOCATED AT 123 E LANCASTER AVE, ARDMORE, PA 19003, (610) 649-5600) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE OR DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,999. *TT*JB
WE WERE OUT IF TOWN WHEN OUR VAN'S DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR WOULDN'T CLOSE AND IT CAME OFF THE TRACK AND I CAUGHT IT LUCKILY. WE HAD TO RIG IT UP AND DRIVE IT HOME. ONLY TO FIND OUT IT'S A COMMON ISSUE.
