AT AROUND 85,000 MILES OUR 2005 ODYSSEY STARTED EXHIBITING A TRANSMISSION SHUDDER IN THE 30-40 MPH RANGE. I TALKED WITH THE DEALER ABOUT IT, AND THEY MENTIONED IT WOULD REQUIRE THE TORQUE CONVERTER BEING REPLACED. HOWEVER, THEY OFFERED A MUCH CHEAPER POSSIBLE FIX TO THE PROBLEM OF REPLACING ALL THE TRANSMISSION FLUID (COST ABOUT $200). THAT SEEMS TO HAVE TEMPORARILY FIXED THE PROBLEM. I HAD THE FLUSH DONE AGAIN AFTER 15,000 MILES. HOPEFULLY, THIS WILL BE THE ONLY FIX NEEDED. *TR
POWER STEERING PUMP FAILING MAY CAUSE ACCIDENT. *JB
THE SUNROOF SPONTANEOUSLY COMBUSTED WHILE DRIVING (SPEED 50, TEMP 63 DEGREES). WE HAD 4 KIDS IN THE CAR AT THE TIME (2 NOT MINE) AND GLASS HIT EACH OCCUPANT. LUCKILY NO ONE GOT CUT, BUT MY SON DID GET HIT IN THE EYE. WILL BE BRINGING IT TO THE DEALER TODAY. *TR
2005 HONDA ODYSSEY SIDE DOOR. WHEN PRESSING THE BUTTON TO CLOSE THE DOOR AUTOMATICALLY, IT BEGINS TO CLOSE AND THEN OPENS RIGHT BACK UP AND CLOSE AGAIN. THIS DOOR HAS CLOSED ON MY CHILDREN AND SQUISHES THEM QUITE A BIT BEFORE IT RETRACTS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY. WHEN DRIVING BETWEEN SPEEDS 25 MPH TO 45 MPH THE VEHICLE SHUDDERS AS IF IT WILL STALL . THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE TORQUE CONVERTER WAS REPLACED. SEVERAL MONTHS AFTER THE REPAIR THE FAILURE RESURFACED. THE TECHNICIAN AT THE DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
SRS LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. *TR
THE POWER STEERING IS MAKING NOISES WHICH ARE PROGRESSIVELY GETTING WORSE. 1) THE NOISES STARTED ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO AND WERE A RESULT OF REGULAR DRIVING AROUND TOWN. 2) THE NOISES USED TO BE INTERMITTENT, BY NOW THEY CAN BE HEARD ALL THE TIME. 3) PROBLEM HAS YET TO BE CORRECTED TO DATE. WILL BE REPAIRED WITHIN THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE TEMPERATURES WERE VERY LOW THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS WITHIN THE POWER STEERING. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 50,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, HE NOTICED THAT THE BATTERY LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THEN HE LOST STEERING POWER. IT WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT. A LOCAL MECHANIC STATED THAT THE BOLT HOLDING THE BELT TENSIONER ON THE ALTERNATOR BRACKET WAS IMPROPERLY INSTALLED WHICH CAUSED THE POWER STEERING TO FAIL. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY BEING REPAIRED AT A COST OF $700.00. THE CONTACT FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE STEERING FAILURE AND WAS ADVISED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE INSPECTED BY AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATES ON THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL PANEL; WHICH INDICATES THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG IS INOPERATIVE. AS A CONSEQUENCE IN A SITUATION THAT WARRANTS THE AIR BAGS MAY FAIL TO DEPLOY. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND A TECHNICIAN REPLACED THE CABLE REAR ASSEMBLY. PRIOR TO THIS REPAIR THE AIR BAG SENSORS WERE REPLACED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 73,900. UPDATED 10/21/09 *BF UPDATED 10/20/09*JB

2005 HONDA ODYSSEY EX-L. BOTH REAR WHEEL BEARINGS/HUBS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. STARTED MAKING RUMBLING NOISE AT ABOUT 63,000 MILES; REPLACED AT 69,000 MILES. VEHICLE IS USED FOR LIGHT DUTY - NO TRAILORING OR HEAVY LOADS. *TR
"HOLE" IN CONDENSER. APPEARS THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT WITH HONDA ODYSSEY 2005 MODEL, BUT NO RECALL. WILL COST $900.00 TO REPAIR. DEFROSTER DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY UNLESS REPAIRED. DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IN RAINY/ICY WEATHER. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY EX. SUMMER OF 2007 THE STRUTS WENT OUT THE REAR LIFTGATE SLAMMED DOWN NEARLY CATCHING MY HAND AS I WAS UNLOADING ITEMS. THE STRUTS WERE REPLACED. LAST SUMMER OF 2008 THE STRUTS FAILED AGAIN AND I WAS UNABLE TO OPEN THE GATE AND IT WOULD SLAM SHUT. THEY REPLACED THE STRUTS. THIS SUMMER, AUGUST 2009 THEY FAILED AGAIN. HONDA IS NOT WILLING TO REPLACE THE STRUTS AT NO COST TO ME AT THIS POINT. THE HATCH SLAMS DOWN AND COULD EASILY DECAPITATE A PERSON THAT WAS LEANING INTO THE VEHICLE. LUCKILY NONE OF MY CHILDREN OR I HAVE NOT BEEN INJURED, JUST ANNOYED AT THIS POINT. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY EX-L, I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER. FOR APPROX 1.5 YEARS THE LEFT SLIDING PASSENGER DOOR HAS BEEN INOPERABLE. FOR THE FIRST APPROX. 2 MONTHS THE DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH PROPERLY WITHOUT MANUALLY SLAMMING OR BUMPING IT SHUT SEVERAL TIMES. THEN, IT FROZE, AND WOULD NOT OPEN. SINCE I HAVE SMALL CHILDREN, I WAS FINE WITH IT STAYING SHUT. SUDDENLY, LAST MONTH (AUG 7), THE DOOR POPPED OPEN WHILE I WAS DRIVING WITH MY 6 YEAR OLD IN THE SEAT BY THE DOOR. THANKFULLY, WE WERE NOT ON THE FREEWAY AT THE TIME & I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER. AFTER PLAYING WITH THE DOOR FOR SEVERAL MINUTES, I WAS ABLE TO SECURE IT AND RETURN HOME. THE DOOR IS NOW FROZEN AGAIN. AT THIS POINT, I AM AFRAID TO TRANSPORT MY 3 KIDS IN THIS CAR. HONDA DOES NOT SEEM TO CONSIDER THIS A SAFETY ISSUE. WE CANNOT GET THIS REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY AS IT HAS EXPIRED AND IS NOT UNDER A RECALL. *TR
2005 HONDA ODYSSEY HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE MOUNTS. *NJ THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER OF THE RISK INVOLVED IF THE ENGINE MOUNTS WERE NOT REPLACED. *JB
2005 HONDA ODYSSEY GOING ON 4TH POWER STEERING PUMP. DEALER REPLACED FIRST TWO, WITHIN WEEKS WHINING NOISE WAS BACK. CHANGE PUMP AGAIN, ONCE AGAIN WHINING NOISE RETURNED. NOW NOT ONLY IS THERE A WHINING NOISE BUT I HAVE OCCASIONAL STIFFNESS IN THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN TRAVEL AT 50 + MPH. VAN CURRENTLY HAS 120,000 MILE, PUMPS REPLACED AT 20,000, 45,000, 70, 000. KNOW OF OTHERS WITH SAME ISSUE. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. THERE IS OBVIOUSLY AN ISSUE WITH THE EQUIPMENT OR DESIGN. *TR
I OWN A 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY... I HAD A FULL FAILURE IN THE A/C CLUTCH OR COMPRESSOR SYSTEM. I HAVE SEEN AN ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS AT HOW HONDA HAS DENIED RESPONSIBILITY FOR A DESIGN DEFECT AND CALLS THE USUAL BREAK DOWN AS A ROCK -->WHERE OTHER REPUTABLE BUSINESSES (GOODYEAR) CALL IT A BASIC FAILURE. I HAVE NEVER OWNED A VEHICLE THAT IS ONLY 4 YRS OLD -- BOUGHT 2 YRS USED -- THAT HAS A FULL A/C SYSTEM FAILURE OF THIS TYPE -- UNUSUAL AND UNCALLED FOR... ADDITIONALLY PARTS AND EQUIPMENT ARE UNDERSTOCKED OR UNAVAILABLE --> REPAIRS WILL COST ME $1600 IN PARTS AND ADDITIONAL $400 FOR REPAIRS.. RIDICULOUS ON A 4 YR OLD CAR... AND UNCALLED FOR AT ITS CURRENT AGE. NO ROUGH DRIVING -- NO ROUGH USAGE -- FAMILY CAR USED FOR FAMILY TRAVEL ONLY... NOW OUT OF COMMISSION FOR NEARLY A WEEK WHILE AWAITING PARTS... 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY TOURING MODEL, PURCHASED NEW FROM DEALER, ORIGINAL OWNER, STRICTLY MAINTAINED. WHEN DRIVING IN 5TH GEAR, 40-45MPH, 1100-1200 RPM IF I START UP AN INCLINE WHERE TRANSMISSION SHOULD DOWNSHIFT, SEVERE VIBRATION BEGINS. LIKE DRIVING OVER RUMBLE STRIPS. EASE OFF ACCELERATOR OR INCREASE ACCELERATION TO INCREASE RPM AND VIBRATION STOPS. STARTED AT APPROXIMATELY 40K VERY INFREQUENTLY. NOW AT 53K HAPPENS MORE FREQUENTLY. DEALER HAS LOOKED AT CAR ON 2 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS BUT CAN NOT FIND PROBLEM. *TR

REAR SLIDING DOOR REAR DOOR LATCH WILL NOT LATCH WHEN DOOR PULLED IN ALLOWING REAR OF DOOR TO REMAIN UNLATCHED. PULLS IN BUT THEN RELEASES AGAIN ALLOWING REAR OF DOOR TO STICK OUT, INDICATING LIGHT FOR DOOR OPEN TO STAY ON AND INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON. BUZZER FOR SLIDING DOOR ACTIVATES AS SOON AS VEHICLE PLACED IN GEAR. CAN PULL THE REAR OF THE DOOR OPEN FROM OUTSIDE THE VEHICLES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME ABNORMALLY STIFF AND DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED AND THEN STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO FUNCTION AS NORMAL. THE FAILURE PERSISTED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS TOLD THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 05V039000 (STEERING:COLUMN). THE DEALER REPLACED THE POWER STEERING FLUID AND THE FAILURE DID NOT RECUR. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
2005 HONDA ODYSSEY TOURING AUTOMATIC HATCH CLOSED ON ME WHILE I WAS RETRIEVING ITEMS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SLIDING DOOR ON THE VEHICLE SLIDES OPEN BECAUSE THE LATCH FAILS TO CLOSE COMPLETELY. WHILE DRIVING AROUND CURVES AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE SLIDING DOOR OPENS INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER TWICE AND THEY CLEANED THE TRACK WHERE IT SLIDES; HOWEVER, NO PARTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT WAS ENTERING THE VEHICLE WHEN THE ELECTRONIC SLIDING DOOR FAILED TO WORK PROPERLY. THE SLIDING DOORS WERE OPEN FOR A BRIEF MOMENT BEFORE CLOSING ON THEIR OWN CAUSING A SHOULDER INJURY. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON TWO PREVIOUS OCCASIONS. A/C UNIT FAILED FROM A PEBBLE STRIKING THE CONDENSER WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE. $1000 TO REPAIR, DEALER WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BEFORE EVEN LOOKING AT THE UNIT. APPARENTLY IT'S A FREQUENT OCCURRENCE FOR THESE MODELS. *TR
HOLE IN AIR CONDITIONING CONDENSER. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AUTO TENSIONER WAS FAULTY ON HIS VEHICLE. WHENEVER IT RAINS, THE UNDERCARRIAGE OF THE VEHICLE AND THE DRIVER BELT BECOME WET, WHICH CAUSES THE AUTO TENSIONER NOT TO PULL THE SLACK OUT OF THE BELT. AS A RESULT, THE POWER STEERING FAILS AND THE BATTERY STOPS CHARGING. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THIS FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CALL THE HONDA MANUFACTURER. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY COULD NOT CHECK THE AUTO TENSIONER BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT LOCATE IT UNDER THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HAD PREVIOUSLY TAKEN HIS VEHICLE TO ANOTHER MECHANIC, WHO WAS ABLE TO LOCATE THE AUTO TENSIONER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
THE POWER SLIDING DOORS WILL NOT CLOSE ON A HILL. THEY WILL START TO CLOSE AND THEN REOPEN AUTOMATICALLY ON THERE OWN, THEY WILL ONLY THEN CLOSE WHEN YOU GET TO LEVEL GROUND. I BRING THIS UP NOW BECAUSE I WAS WITH 7 ODYSSEY OWNERS THAT HAVE THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR ENGINE MOUNTS WOULD FAIL INTERMITTENTLY AT STEADY CRUISING SPEEDS, HARD ACCELERATIONS AND WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ACTIVATED. WHEN DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL THE FAILURE WOULD CORRECT ITSELF. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 30 MPH WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE REPAIRS TO THE VEHICLE WOULD BE AT THE OWNERS EXPENSE. THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND THE FACTORY WARRANTY WAS NOT VALID. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 87,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 91,000.
I HAVE A 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY MINIVAN WHICH I PURCHASED BRAND NEW IN 2005 FROM THE HALL HONDA VIRGINIA BEACH, VA IN 2005. THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES THAT WHILE DRIVING I WOULD HEAR A WHINING TYPE OF NOISE. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR AN OIL CHANGE THEY TRIED TO FIND THE NOISE BY TEST DRIVING IT BUT IT DID NUT DUPLICATE AS IT IS SPORADIC. NOW I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A STATE INSPECTION AND DURING THEIR PREVENTIVE CHECK THEY HAVE STATED THEY HAVE FOUND METAL SHAVINGS IN THE POWER STEERING PUMP RESERVOIR WHICH IS AN INDICATION OF THE POWER STEERING PUMP GOING BAD. IT WILL COST ME $700 TO REPLACE THE PUMP AND THE RESERVOIR PLUS FLUSH AND FILL IT. I HAVE ALSO DISCOVERED THROUGH MY RESEARCH THAT THERE IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY HAVING DEFECTIVE POWER STEERING PUMPS AND THE WINING NOISE IS ONE OF THE INDICATIONS OF IT GOING BAD. THE DEALERSHIP STATES THE WARRANTY FOR THIS ITEM IS 3YRS OR 36,000 MILES. I HAVE CALLED FIRESTONE AND EVEN THE REP THERE STATED THAT THE VEHICLE IS TOO NEW FOR THIS TYPE OF THING TO HAPPEN, ESPECIALLY IN A HONDA. THE NOISE BEGAN APPROX A YEAR OR SO AGO BUT HONDA DEALERSHIPS COULD NOT DUPLICATE IT. *TR
2005 HONDA ODYSSEY AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FAILURE. *TR
AT LEAST SEVERAL TIMES MY WIFE AND I HAVE BEEN SCARED WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF MY BRAKES ON HONDA ODYSSEY 2005. THERE IS NO RECALL, SO NOTHING I CAN DO. WHEN GOING DOWN THE HILL AND STOPPING AT THE STOP SIGN (PUSHING THE BRAKE PEDAL), BRAKES SEEM TO GRAB AT FIRST AND THEN LET GO FOR ABOUT A SECOND FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON. AFTER THIS BRAKES GRAB AGAIN AND SEEM TO WORK JUST FINE, AS THOUGH NOTHING HAPPENED. THIS REALLY SCARES ME AND MY WIFE WHEN IT HAPPENS. *TR
THE DEALER FOUND A HOLE IN THE A/C COMPRESSOR FOR MY 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY. I HAD NOTICE NO COLD AIR BLOWING AND THE DEALER DID A DIAGNOSTIC. I AM NOW FACED WITH A $900 REPAIR BILL. AFTER RESEARCHING THE ISSUE I HAVE FOUND THAT HUNDREDS OF HONDA OWNERS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE A/C COMPRESSOR. THE DEALER EVEN ACKNOWLEDGED THAT HONDA IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THE COMPRESSOR IS PLACED IN AN AREA WITH NO PROTECTION, MAKING IT VULNERABLE TO DAMAGE. I FEEL HONDA SHOULD OFFER A RECALL OF THE VEHICLE TO PROTECT THE AIR COMPRESSOR TO REDUCE THE RISK OF THIS HAPPENING. MANY OF THE COMPLAINTS ON SAW ON LINE, THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED TO THEIR CAR ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION. *TR
THIS HAPPENED ON APRIL 20TH, 2009 AT 3PM. WHILE THE SUV (MY FATHER-IN-LAW 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY VAN) WAS PARKED, MY 8-YEAR OLD BECAME ENTANGLED IN THE SEAT BELT OF THE 3RD ROW MIDDLE SEAT. MY WIFE JUMPED IMMEDIATELY TO THE 3RD ROW BUT THE SEAT BELT WOULD NOT LOOSE AND THERE WAS ANY SLACK TO LOOSEN THE BELT. DURING ALL ATTEMPTS TO LOOSEN IT, THE BELT GOT TIGHTER WHILE MY CHILD WAS BEING ASPHYXIATED. MIRACULOUSLY, SHE WAS ABLE TO LOOSE THE BELT AND RELEASED HIM JUST BEFORE HE DIE . THE CHILD WAS INJURED IN THE NECK, HAD BRUISES AND BROKEN CAPILLARIES THROUGHOUT HIS FACE, EYES AND EARS, ETC. DURING THIS WEEK, HE HAD REQUIRED MEDICAL STUDIES INCLUDING GENERAL DOCTOR, PAEDIATRIST, NEURO, OPHTHALMOLOGIST, ENT AND PSYCHOLOGIST. I AM LOOKING HOW TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH HONDA BY INTERNET...NO LUCK SO FAR. I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT THERE IS NOT A SAFETY FEATURE TO MANUALLY LOOSEN THE SEAT BELT IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. MAKING RESEARCH, I FOUND THAT SEEMS TO BE THAT HONDA FIXED A SAFETY ISSUE CONCERNING CHILD CAR SEATS, BUT THEY HAVE CREATED A NEW SAFETY HAZARD FOR ALL CHILDREN. I AM SURE THAT HONDA ENGINEERS EVALUATED THIS SAFETY HAZARD BUT RATED WITH A SERIOUS SEVERITY BUT WITH A LOW LIKELIHOOD OF OCCURRENCE. THEREFORE, THIS NOT REQUIRED ANY MEASURES FOR RISK MITIGATION. I THINK THAT GIVEN THE SEVERITY OF THIS HAZARD AND ITS POTENTIAL HARMS (MAJOR INJURY, DEATH, ETC), HONDA MUST RE-EVALUATE ITS RISK ASSESSMENT AND TAKE AN ACTION BY REDESIGNING THIS SEAT BELT. THE AIR CONDITIONER STOPPED WORKING AFTER ONLY 3 YEARS AND I HAD TO REPLACE THE CONDENSER JUST AT 37,000 MILES. BETTER YET I WAS TOLD BY HONDA DEALERSHIP THAT IT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN COVERED BY WARRANTY ANYWAY BECAUSE IT WAS CAUSED BY 'SOME ROAD DEBRIS HITTING THE CONDENSER'. WHAT IS THE ODD THAT HUNDREDS OF HONDA CUSTOMERS HAVE RUN INTO THE SAME ISSUE (EVIDENCED BY THE DISCUSSION FORUM THREADS ON MANY THAT'S OUT THERE ON THE INTERNET). HONDA'S OFFICIAL SITE STATES: 'CAUTION: RADIATOR AND CONDENSER FINS ARE VERY THIN AND EASILY DAMAGED. DO NOT BEND THEM WITH HIGH WATER PRESSURE OR BRUSH'. SO WHY THEN DID HONDA PUT THE A/C CONDENSER COMPLETELY EXPOSED ON THE FRONT OF A VEHICLE THAT CAN LEGALLY TRAVEL AT SPEEDS UP TO 75 MPH? OBVIOUSLY THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW THAT HONDA SHOULD HAVE RECALLED, OR AT LEAST INSTALL A PROTECTIVE GRILLE BEFORE CUSTOMERS ARE HIT WITH EXPENSIVE REPAIRS. 2008 AND NEWER HONDA VANS NOW COME WITH STANDARD PROTECTION GUARDS ON THE FRONT BUT IT IS NOT FAIR FOR ALL YOUR LOYALTY CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE PURCHASED A 2007 OR EARLIER ODYSSEY. AS A REPUTABLE AUTO COMPANY, HONDA SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS OUTRIGHT FAULTY DESIGN. *TR

2005 HONDA ODYSSEY TOURING HAS SOFT BRAKES AT LOW MILEAGE AND ROTORS HAD TO BE REPLACED AT 25,000 MILES SINCE THEY WERE RUSTED OUT, EVEN THOUGH BRAKES HAD BEEN SERVICED BY HONDA AT ALL PRESCRIBED SERVICE INTERVALS. HONDA REPLACED ALL 4 ROTORS AND PADS AT MY COST, CLAIMING THAT THIS WEAR WAS NOT ABNORMAL AND WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN COVERED EVEN IF THE VEHICLE WAS STILL UNDER ORIGINAL 3-YEAR WARRANTY. MY CONCERN (WHICH I SHARED WITH THEM) IS THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE THE PARTS FAILED AFTER A VERY SHORT INTERVAL EVEN THOUGH THE VAN WAS SERVICED AT THE INTERVALS PRESCRIBED BY HONDA AT A HONDA DEALER. THE SAFETY CONCERN IS THAT THE BRAKING DISTANCE WITH THE RUSTED-OUT ROTORS INCREASES STOPPING DISTANCE DRAMATICALLY, EVEN AT LOW SPEEDS. *TR
