THE PAINT IS COMING OFF MY CAR IN SHEETS. THE PEOPLE AT THE REPAIR SHOP SAID THEY HAVE SEEN THIS AND THAT IT WAS RECALLED BY HONDA. HONDA WILL DO NOTHING ABOUT MY CAR. SAID OLD AGE. THAT ISN'T TRUE. *TR
AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT GOES ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY FOR THE LAST FEW MONTHS. SEEMS LIKE THIS SHOULD BE P[ART OF THE AIR BAG RECALL. *TR
CAR JIGGERS AND VIBRATES WHEN ECO MODE KICKS IN. CAR ALSO VIBRATES CONSTANTLY. MULTIPLE MOTOR MOUNTS HAVE BEEN DEEMED BAD AND NEEDING REPLACEMENT. MOTOR MOUNTS SHOULD BE ABLE TO HANDLE THE ECO SHIFT AND LAST LONGER THAN THIS. *TR

AFTER TWO YEARS THE LIGHT ON MOST OF THE TIME AND IT WENT OFF AUTOMATICALLY FOR A WHILE THEN CAME BACK ON. I CALL TO AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR INC. THEY DON'T WANT TO CREATE A RECALL FOR THAT BECAUSE THAT WILL BE DIFFERENT COMPONENT FAIL IN THAT CASE. THEY JUST WANT TO CREATE THE RECALL FOR EACH COMPONENT BREAK DOWN. THEY NOT COVER THE REPAIR COST AND DEPEND ON WHICH COMPONENT UNDER WARRANTY THEN HONDA WILL NOT CHARGE THE PARTS. OTHERWISE WE NEED TO PAY ALL THE REPAIR. I REQUEST FOR THE RECALL FOR THE SRS LIGHT ON. BECAUSE A LOT OF THE OWNERS THINK THAT IS NOT IMPORTANT THEY THINK JUST THE LIGHT IS ON AND KEEP DRIVING. I WAS THINKING THE SAME WAY TOO. THAT'S WHY I WANT TO REQUEST THAT RECALL ASAP FOR THE SRS LIGHT ON SO WE WILL SAVE THE PEOPLE LIFE IN ADVANCE. THE AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON INTERMITTENTLY FOR NO APPARENT REASON. MANY, MANY 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. FOR SOME REASON MANUFACTURE YEAR 2005 WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE MOST RECENT RECALL? WE GOT THE INITIAL LETTER TELLING US OUR AIR BAGS WOULD BE A RECALL ITEM IN THE SUMMER, 2014 BUT THEN NEVER RECEIVED A FOLLOW-UP LETTER. UPON INVESTIGATION ON MY PART I FOUND OUT THAT MY MODEL YEAR, 2005, AIR BAGS DID NOT GET RECALLED. BUT WE ARE HAVING THE SAME AIR BAG ISSUE AND SEEMS LIKE WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED ON SUCH AN IMPORTANT SAFETY MATTER. *TR
AIR BAG LIGHTS COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY DAYS OR WEEKS APART. NO RECALLS LISTED FOR MY VIN. SEAT BELT LIGHT DOES THE SAME THING BUT MUCH LESS FREQUENTLY. AGAIN, NO RECALL LISTED FOR MY VIN. NO OUTWARD DEFECTS. THIS CONCERNS ME DUE TO MANY OTHER AIR BAG RECALLS. THIS IS A FAMILY CAR. IT WAS PURCHASED WITH THE SAFETY OF MY CHILDREN IN MIND. WE ARE NOT FEELING VERY SAFE.
I WAS DRIVING MY CHILDREN TO SCHOOL, AGES 9 AND 6, AND AS I WAS DRIVING THE SLIDING PASSENGER DOOR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE OPENED. MY 6 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WHO WAS SITTING NEXT TO THE DOOR SAID "MOMMY THE DOOR IS OPENING". I WAS DRIVING ONLY ABOUT 10 TO 15 MPH AND WAS ABLE TO IMMEDIATELY PULL OVER AND I KEPT ON OPENING AND CLOSING THE DOOR AND WOULD APPEAR TO BE CLOSED BUT AS I CONTINUED TO DRIVE IT WOULD OPEN AGAIN. I CONTINUED TO DRIVE TO SCHOOL WITH MY HAZARDS ON AND IF THE DOOR OPENED AGAIN I WOULD HAVE TO PULL OVER AND OPEN AND CLOSE THE DOOR AGAIN. WHILE THIS WAS HAPPENING WE HEARD A CONTINUOUS BEEPING NOISE LIKE I WOULD HEAR IF THE DOOR WAS OPEN. THIS INCIDENT SCARED MY CHILDREN AND MYSELF AND SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED. I CONSIDER THIS TO BE A MAJOR SAFETY FLAW IN THIS CAR AND SHOULD BE RECALLED. I HAVE HEARD THE BEEPING SOUND BEFORE WHEN IT IS VERY COLD BUT THIS IS THE FIRST THAT THE DOOR ACTUALLY OPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V112000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY IN DASHBOARD. THIS IS HAPPENING FROM DEC 31ST 2014. BUT NOT SEEING THIS SENSOR LIGHT ALL THE TIME IN DASH BOARD. WHEN I CHECK FOR HONDA RECALL ONLINE WITH MY CAR VIN#, MY CAR IS NOT SHOWING THE RECALL FOR AIRBAG'S REPLACEMENT. PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW TO GET THIS DONE WITH HONDA FOR FREE OF CHARGE. *JS
THIS ISSUE IS RELATED TO THE ELECTRIC SLIDING DOORS FOR A 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY EX. THE RIGHT PASSENGER ELECTRIC SLIDING DOOR STOPPED WORKING WHEN THE ODOMETER READ 99722. AT THE TIME IT STOPPED WORKING, THE VAN WAS PARKED IN A PARKING LOT. WHEN THE BUTTON WAS PRESSED TO OPEN THE DOOR, THE DOOR REFUSED TO OPEN AND A LIGHT WENT ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL "SLIDE DOOR". WHEN I CONSULTED THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL, IT SAID TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. I WAS REALLY SUSPICIOUS WITH THE SUDDEN FAILING OF THE DOOR BECAUSE UP UNTIL THAT PARTICULAR MOMENT, THE DOOR WAS WORKING FINE. THE WAY I OPENED THE DOOR AND THE WEATHER CONDITIONS IT WAS IN REMAINED THE SAME FROM WHEN THE ODOMETER READ 99700 UNTIL THE INCIDENT. WHEN I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE, I FOUND THAT I WAS NOT THE ONLY ODYSSEY OWNER WITH THIS ISSUE. IT SEEMS MODEL YEARS 2005-2010 HAVE THESE ELECTRIC SLIDING DOORS PROBLEMS WITHOUT ANY CLEAR INDICATION OF ISSUES BEFOREHAND. MULTIPLE REPORTS HAVE STATED OWNERS TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER ONLY TO HAVE THE DEALER CHARGE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO FAIL DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. I VISITED A FORUM THAT OFFERED A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM. THE SOLUTION STATED TO RESET THE INTERNAL COMPUTER BY PULLING A FUSE LABELED AS "BACK UP". I WAS SKEPTICAL OF THIS SOLUTION BECAUSE HONDA WOULDN'T DESIGN A VEHICLE THAT STATES AN ERROR WITH A DOOR UNLESS SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE DOOR, FOR EXAMPLE THE MOTOR. HOWEVER, GIVEN THE CIRCUMSTANCES IN WHICH THE SLIDING DOOR FAILED, I GAVE IT A TRY AND RESET THE INTERNAL COMPUTER. I STARTED THE ENGINE BACK UP AND NOTICED IMMEDIATELY THE ERROR WAS GONE WHICH MAKES SENSE SINCE THE COMPUTER WAS RESET. WHEN I PUSHED THE BUTTON TO OPEN THE PASSENGER ELECTRIC DOOR, THE DOOR OPENED NORMALLY WITHOUT ANY HESITATION OF MOVEMENT. I AM NOW VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE INTEGRITY OF HONDA MOTOR CORPORATION. IF HELP CAN BE GIVEN, I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT. THANK YOU. *TR
WHMAGOO EN I PURCHASED THE CAR I HAD AN APPROVED BY HONDA SCOOTER LIFT INSTALLED BY UNLIMITED ABILITIES IN DEER PARK NY. I AM HANDICAPPED AND AFTER THE INSTALLATION I RECEIVED A REBATE FROM HONDA . AS A RESULT OF THE RECALL MY WIFE BROUGHT THE CAR IN BECAUSE OF THE RECALL TO NARDY HONDA SMITH TOWN N.Y. AND WAS TOLD THEY CANNOT WORK ON THE RECALL UNTIL THE LIFT IS REMOVED. I COMPLAINED TO HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS GIVEN CASE # [XXX] AND WAS ADVISED SOMEONE WOULD CALL WITHIN 24 HRS. NO ONE CALLED. I CALL AGAIN AND WAS INFORMED THE PERSON HANDLING WAS OUT AND WOULD CALL ME WITHIN 24 HRS NO ONE CALLED.IN I CALLED HARDY HONDA SERVICE MGR [XXX] AND HE ADVISED ME WOULD CHECK WITH HDQTRS TO DETERMINE WHO WOULD PAY FOR THE LIFT REMOVAL NECESSARY FOR THE REPAIR AND CALL ME BACK. HE NEVER CALLED.PLEASE HELP ME RESOLVE THIS ISSUE BECAUSE IF THE RECALL FUMES PROBLEM ISN'T RESOLVED I COULD BE A DEAD DUCK IF A FIRE HAPPENED. MY 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY EX-L HAS ONLY ABOUT 66,000 MILES ON IT AND A HONDA DEALERSHIP SAID THAT ONE OF THE ENGINE MOUNTS HAS BROKEN WHEN I BROUGHT MY CAR IN FOR A HONDA'S FUEL PUMP SAFETY RECALL SERVICE. I SEARCHED ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND THAT THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF HONDA'S OWNERS THAT ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE WITH HONDA VEHICLES MANUFACTURED BETWEEN 2000 - 2012. THE ENGINE MOUNTS ON HONDA VEHICLES, ESPECIALLY THE ODYSSEY, BREAK EASILY AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A DESIGN FLAW THAT HONDA HAS NEGLECTED TO CORRECT. ENGINE MOUNTS SHOULD NOT BREAK AT ABOUT 50,000 MILES. THEY SHOULD LAST EVEN MUCH LONGER THAN 100,000 MILES. THE COST OF REPLACING THE ENGINE MOUNT RUNS AT APPROXIMATELY $1000/MOUNT, WHICH IS VERY EXPENSIVE. PLEASE HELP LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE. AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON AND HONDA CLAIMS THERE ISN'T A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE. I HAVE READ ALL ABOUT THE DEFECTIVE AIR BAGS AND I BELIEVE THIS ONE SHOULD BE REPAIRED AT HONDA'S COST. I AM NOT SURE MY VEHICLE IS SAFE TO DRIVE. *TR
TORQUE CONVERTER GOING IN THE TRANSMISSION. I SEE THAT THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND THAT HONDA HAS BEEN AWARE OF THIS AND HAS DONE A SERVICE BULLETIN BUT NO RECALL. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER A YEAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE RECURRED EACH TIME THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 126,000.
CHECK AIRBAG LIGHT IS STAYING ON NOW. IT WAS COMING ON AND GOING OFF BUT NOW IT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME. WAS HOPING THAT MY VEHICLE WOULD BE INCLUDED IN THIS LAST RECALL BUT IT WASN'T.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A RANDOM FAILURE THAT PROGRESSED CONCERNING THE POWER STEERING. THE VEHICLE SHOOK EXCESSIVELY EACH TIME THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE PERFORMED EXTENSIVE DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, BUT WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A SPECIFIC REMEDY TO PREVENT THE FAILURE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR A SECOND OPINION WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND PROVIDED NO SPECIFIC RECOMMENDED REPAIR SOLUTION TO THE DEALER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 126,607.
WHILE DRIVING ON !-25 SOUTH, THE CAR STARTED TO CHOKE AND ALMOST COMPLETELY STALLED WHILE ON THE LEFT LANE. TRIED TO MERGE RIGHT AND SLOW DOWN THE CAR. THE BRAKES WOULD NOT RESPOND. THE CAR WAS STILL CHOKED AND THEN GIVES IN AND GOES AGAIN. TOOK THE FIRST EXIT AND CONTINUES TO PRESS ON THE BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN THE CAR. IT CONTINUED ON FOR A WHILE BEFORE REACHING A COMPLETE STOP. AFTER STOPPING, CHECKED THE ENGINE FOR LEAKS OR SMOKE AND THERE WAS NOTHING. I STARTED THE CAR AGAIN AND IT SEEM TO START FINE. THEN THERE WAS SOME KIND OF LIGHT NOISE. I DROVE IT TO JUST THE OTHER SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY WHERE THERE WERE SOME STORES. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THAT JUST PERFORMED PREVENTIVE TIMING BELT REPLACEMENT. SAID THAT THEY FOUND BROKEN/SEIZED SPARK PLUG IN CYLINDER 2. THE WORK WAS DONE AT 76000. CURRENT MILES IS 77990. THE ISSUE SEEM TO BE HAPPENING TO 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY. *TR
HEADSETS WON'T WORK AT ALL ONLY STATIC SOUND . I HEARD IS A COMMON PROBLEM BUT HONDA DOESN'T ADMIT IT NOR FIX IT FOR FREE . I THINK HONDA SHOULD RECALL THIS PROBLEM. *TR
MY FIANCE, ME, AND OUR 3 MONTH OLD SON WERE INVOLVED IN A PRETTY SERIOUS ROLL OVER OCTOBER 13TH OF THIS YEAR AND WE HAD NO AIR BAGS DURING THE WRECK THEY DEPLOYED AT A DELAY HITTING ME IN THE HEAD. I HAD ALREADY HIT MY HEAD ON MY WINDOW SHATTERING AND BREAKING IT. AFTER WE WERE UPSIDE DOWN THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED, THEN WHEN ABOUT A MINUTE OR TWO WENT BY I EXITED MY SEAT DAZED. AS I CAME OUT MY SEAT I WAS MET BY AN FORGIVING BLOW MY SIDE AIR BAGS WHICH HAD NOT DEPLOYED AFTER ALL THIS TIME. I GOT MYSELF TOGETHER AND GOT MY FIANCE AND CHILD OUT THE CAR. HONDA TOLD ME WRECK WAS MY FAULT FOR IMPROPER USE OF THE VSA OK FINE BUT WHAT ABOUT THE AIR BAGS THAT SHOULDN'T HAVE MADE THEM NOT DEPLOY. THE REP WAS RUDE AND SAID BASICALLY TUFF LUCK AND GOT OFF THE PHONE AS IF HE DID NOT CARE IT HAPPENED I COULD HAVE DIED AND LOST MY SON DUE TO THE AIR BAG ISSUE WHAT IF IT HAD WENT OFF WITH ME GETTING HIM OUT? THE GUY SAID I WAS NOT AT FAULT. I DIDN'T KNOW ANY OF THE INFORMATION HE TRIED TO PROVIDE ME AFTER THE WRECK SO NOW I'M LEFT DEALING WITH A LOT OF HEADACHES AND MENTAL PAIN AND TOLD TO LET IT GO. I'M NOT GOING TO REALLY CONSIDERING COURT IF NO ONE ELSE WILL HELP. IT WAS MY FAULT WITH THE VSA CAUSE I HAD NO MANUAL OR NOTHING SO I THOUGHT ALL THAT TIME WE WERE OPERATING IT RIGHT SO I TAKE THAT BLAME BUT THE AIR BAGS NO IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH HOW WE WERE HAMMERED AFTER THE WRECK. PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY. *TR
HAVING TO REPLACE THE ENGINE MOTOR MOUNTS AGAIN. REPLACED THE FRONT MOUNT IN OCT. 2014. FAULTY AGAIN. CHECKED ONLINE AND THERE HAVE BEEN PLENTY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE MOTOR MOUNTS. WAS TOLD ENGINE COULD FALL DOWN WHEN DRIVING. NHTSA NEED TO CHECK INTO THIS. I'M SURE HONDA IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE BUT HAS DONE NOTHING ABOUT IT.
BROUGHT THE CAR TO A HONDA DEALERSHIP (TONY HONDA, WAIPAHU HI 96797) FOR RECALL (FUEL PUMP) AND ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND TWO BROKEN MOTOR MOUNTS WERE DISCOVERED (RIGHT SIDE AND REAR SIDE). WAS ADVISED THAT REPAIR OF THE TWO BROKEN MOUNTS WOULD MOST LIKELY LEAD TO DAMAGE TO THE REMAINING MOUNTS, WHICH WOULD THEN HAVE TO BE REPLACED AS WELL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY. WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE, THERE WAS A SUDDEN INCREASE IN ENGINE RPMS AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A FENCE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 184,530.
THE MESSAGE "CHECK AIRBAG SYSTEM" LIGHTS UP ON THE DASHBOARD. INITIALLY, IT BEGAN LIGHTING UP MORE INTERMITTENTLY AND THEN GOING OFF, BUT NOW IT IS ON NEARLY ALL THE TIME. MY VIN DOES NOT SHOW UP AS PART OF THE AIRBAG RECALL THAT HONDA HAS. IT APPEARS THERE ARE MANY OTHER 2005 ODYSSEY OWNERS WHO ARE EXPERIENCING THIS SAME PROBLEM. PLEASE BEGIN AN INVESTIGATION ON THIS PROBLEM. *TR

THE SLIDING DOORS ROLLERS AND LATCHES ARE DEFECTIVE! THE LEFT DOOR WILL NOT LATCH AND IT'S A SAFETY HAZARD WITH KIDS IN THE BACK! THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED!! 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED AND THE VSA INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE ABS WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000.
BOUGHT OUR 2ND ODYSSEY IN MAY 2014. USED. 153000MILES. TOOK TO HONDA DEALER TO MAKE SURE ALL SERVICE WAS UP TO DATE. OIL AND TRANSMISSION FLUID CHANGED. THEY SAID EVERYTHING WAS GOOD DESPITE A SHUDDER WE FELT AT 40 45 MPH. DRIVING IN JULY ON A 12 HR FAMILY TRIP AND WE HEAR A HIGH PITCHED WHINE ONLY UPON ACCELERATION. THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. ONE MORNING AS WE WERE STARTED UP THE ENGINE I NOTICED A SOMEWHAT LOUD NOISE AS IS THE MUFFLER HAD A HOLE IN IT. I DROVE IT FOR AWHILE AND NOTICED AT THIS POINT THAT THE NOISE WAS HEARD AS WE ACCELERATED AND WHEN THE CAR WENT INTO ECO MODE. I HAD STOOD OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE WHILE MY WIFE DROVE AWAY BUT DID NOT NOTICE ANY NOISE. THOUGHT THIS WAS STRANGE. I TOOK IT TO THE HONDA DEALER ON A RECALL, FUEL PUMP, AND ASKED FOR THEM TO LOOK UNDER IT. THEY REPORTED THAT IT WAS THE MOTOR MOUNT THAT WAS WORN DOWN. I SEE THAT HONDA ODYSSEY, 2005 (OUR YEAR MODEL) THROUGH 2007 HAS THIS PROBLEM. IS THERE ANY TYPE OF ACTION THAT CAN BE TAKEN TO HAVE HONDA REPAIR THIS INCIDENT WITHOUT THE COST COMING FROM ME. *TR

TAKATA INFLATORS - IN FAIRLY SERIOUS FRONT IMPACT ACCIDENT, CUT TO HEAD SUSTAINED IN AN AREA (BACK OF HEAD) THAT DID NOT STRIKE ANY AREA OF CAR THAT WOULD CREATE CUT. THERE WAS NO GLASS. ALL MEDICAL PERSONNEL ASKED HOW THE CUT COULD HAVE HAPPENED. IT LOOKED LIKE STAB WOUND.
OUR 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY HAD A TRANSMISSION FAILURE ON THE WAY OUT OF TOWN FROM GEORGIA TO FLORIDA OVER THE 4TH OF JULY WEEKEND. ON WEDNESDAY WE JUST HAD AN O2 SENSOR AND RECALL WORK (MASTER CYLINDER & ONE OTHER ISSUE) COMPLETED AT A HONDA DEALER IN GEORGIA. I THEN TOOK IT DOWN THE STREET TO GET TWO NEW TIRES PUT ON THE VEHICLE AT A TIRE SERVICE CENTER. THEY CHECKED THE VEHICLE OUT FOR TRAVEL, GAVE US THE GREEN LIGHT AND BAM! BY 6PM THE FOLLOWING DAY THE TRANSMISSION SOLENOIDS WERE BOTH REPORTED FAILED: P0746 PRESSURE CONTROL SOLENOID "A" PERFORMANCE/STUCK OFF P0777 PRESSURE CONTROL SOLENOID "B" STUCK ON P0741 TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH CIRCUIT PERFORMANCE/STUCK OFF WE HOBBLED INTO PANAMA CITY, WHERE I BOOKED A CAR RENTAL FROM THE AIRPORT. THE DEALER IMMEDIATELY ASSESSED THE ISSUES AS A TRANSMISSION FAILURE. WE HAVE RETURNED TO ATLANTA ON A 14 DAY CAR RENTAL SCRAMBLING TO FIND A NEW CAR. THE QUOTE FOR REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION IS $3K. THIS IS PROHIBITIVE ON A 2005. HONDA CORPORATION REFUSED A GOODWILL ASSISTANCE REQUEST. CASE NUMBER AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST. AT THAT POINT I WILL HAS SPENT $3.2K ON THE CAR, $400 IN CAR RENTALS (IN GEORGIA WHILE SERVICE WAS BEING PERFORMED, AND FLORIDA TO GET HOME). MY GUESS IS IF I DON'T FIX THE TRANSMISSION THERE WILL BE NO TRADE-IN VALUE FOR THE VEHICLE. IT'S GOT BUMPER, INTERIOR AND FENDER DAMAGE, SO THERE ISN'T MUCH HOPE EVEN IF I DO GO FORWARD WITH THE REPLACEMENT. ALSO, THE ALPHARETTA SERVICE CENTER SAID THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LOOKED FINE, AND HONDA IN PC SAID IT WAS BURNT. THERE EXPLANATION WAS A PART FAILURE IN THE TRANSMISSIONS BURNED THE FLUID. THE REAR MOTOR MOUNT WENT BAD CAUSING A TERRIBLE VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL DUE TO THE ENGINE BANGING AROUND. AFTER SOME RESEARCH I FOUND OUT THE REAR MOTOR MOUNT WAS ONLY ADDED TO THIS VEHICLE AFTER HONDA DECIDED TO COME OUT WITH THE ECO FEATURE. THE VCM ENGINE CUTS OUT CYLINDERS WHEN THEY ARE NOT NEEDED CAUSING THE ENGINE TO VIBRATE SO A REAR MOTOR MOUNT WAS ADDED TO DECREASE THE VIBRATION. THE MOTOR MOUNT IS AROUND $500 PLUS THE COST OF LABOR TO REPAIR. I DON'T HAVE THE $700 NEEDED TO REPAIR MY VAN SO I WILL BE DOUBLE FISTING THE STEERING WHEEL UNTIL THE REMAINING MOUNTS FAIL CAUSING MY ENGINE TO FALL OUT. HOPEFULLY NO ONE WILL BE INJURED DURING THIS INCIDENT BECAUSE IT'S NOT A SAFETY ISSUE ACCORDING TO AMERICAN HONDA. *TR

MY AIRBAG LIGHT WOULD GO ON AND OFF AT TIMES AND NOW IT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME...SAFETY CONCERN!
WE WERE TRAVELING AT ABOUT 55MPH WHEN THE CAR IN FRONT OF US SUDDENLY CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. I STEPPED AS HARD ON THE BRAKE AS I COULD AND WE HIT THE REAR OF THE CAR IN FRONT STRAIGHT ON. THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN WHINING SINCE 75000K. IT FAILED COMPLETELY AT 142000 MILES. HERE'S WHAT FINALLY KILLED IT, I WAS MAKING A U TURN IN A PARKING LOT AT MY KID'S SCHOOL. THE DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR CLOSES, LATCHES AND THEN 5 SECONDS LATER UNLATCHES ITSELF ELECTRONICALLY. THE DOOR REFUSES TO CLOSE COMPLETELY AND CAN EASILY OPEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS MOVING. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE CONDITION ESPECIALLY IF PASSENGERS ARE IN THE SECOND SEATING ROW. THIS HAPPENED BY ITSELF OVER THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE - I CANNOT PIN AN EXACT ACTION THAT MADE THIS OCCUR OTHER THAN REPEATED USAGE. IN ORDER TO KEEP THE DOOR FROM REOPENING, I HAD TO REMOVE THE FUSE (#7) THAT CONTROLS THE POWER SLIDING DOORS. NOW ONLY THE PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR IS USED AND MUST BE OPERATED MANUALLY. ALSO REMOTE POWER LOCKS HAVE BEEN DISABLED BECAUSE OF REMOVAL OF THE FUSE. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
SUMMER OF 2014 MY 2005 HONDA ODYSSEY WAS LOSING POWER ON THE ROAD TO THE POINT I HAD TO BE TOWED TO MY MECHANIC. TURNED OUT I WAS LOW ON OIL WITH NO LEAKS AT ALL AND NOT DUE FOR AN OIL CHANGE. THIS IS VERY STRESSFUL ON MY ENGINE. MY VAN IS ONLY USED FOR LOCAL TRAVEL, ABOUT 20 MILES PER DAY AND I HAVE BEEN NEEDING TO ADD OIL ABOUT ONCE PER MONTH, STILL WITH NO LEAKS. I UNDERSTAND THERE IS A CLASS ACTION SUIT FOR HONDA ODYSSEYS 2008-2013 FOR EXCESSIVE OIL BURNING, ENTERING THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER AND BURNING EXCESSIVE OIL AT NORMAL OPERATING SPEEDS AND CONDITIONS. IN FACT, IF YOUR COMMUTE DOESN'T CONSIST OF CLIMBING THROUGH THE ROCKIES, YOU'RE PROBABLY GOING TO SEE MORE OIL CONSUMPTION THAN NORMAL. I WENT OUT TO UNLOCK MY VAN AND IT WOULDN'T UNLOCK. THOUGHT THE BATTERY IN KEY FOB WAS DEAD. FOUND OUT THAT THE DELAY WIPER SETTING, REAR WIPER, HIGH BEAM LIGHTS, TURNING SIGNALS.
