WE HAD RARELY USED OUR THIRD SEAT, WHEN I NOTICED THAT THE THIRD SEAT, PASSENGER-SIDE SEAT BELT HAD A RIP IN IT. IT CAME UNTHREADED STRAIGHT ACROSS THE BELT. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS OUR DOG; HOWEVER A LARGE BREED DOG COULD NOT HAVE CHEWED STRAIGHT ACROSS THE SEATBELT AND THERE WERE NO OTHER DOG TEETH MARKS ON THE BELT. BUT, I REPAIRED IT THINKING THAT IT WAS MY DOG AND THE DOG WAS BANNED FROM THE CAR. HOWEVER, WE HAVE CONTINUED TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS BELT. WITH THE SEATBELT RARELY BEING USED, ONCE A NEW SEATBELT IS INSTALLED, IT BEGINS TO FRAY AND BECOMES UNTHREADED STRAIGHT ACROSS THE BELT AND THEN COMES COMPLETELY APART. SOMETIMES THE FRAYING HAS BEEN ABOVE THE COVER AND EXPOSED, BUT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE FRAYING BEGAN IN THE PART OF THE SEATBELT THAT IS COVERED AND INACCESSIBLE TO ANYONE. I HAVE HAD AT LEAST 5 NEW SEATBELTS AND THIS HAS HAPPENED TO EACH ONE. IN ONE CASE, A NEW SEATBELT WAS INSTALLED AND WITHOUT EVER BEING USED, THIS STILL OCCURRED. ONCE THE NEW SEATBELT WAS INSTALLED, I CHECKED THE SEATBELT DAILY, AND 7 DAYS AFTER THE NEW ONE WAS INSTALLED, IT BEGAN TO FRAY AGAIN AND THEN IT COMPLETELY SEPARATELY. THE DEALERSHIP CONTINUES TO BLAME THE USER, ALTHOUGH THESE SEATBELTS WERE NEVER OR RARELY USED. THIS WENT ON FOR OVER TWO YEARS. I HAVE NOT HAD A WORKING SEATBELT IN THAT SEAT FOR OVER ONE YEAR. NOW, THIS PAST WEEK, A SEATBELT THAT IS USED DAILY HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THERE IS FRAYING ACROSS THE SEATBELT AND IT HAS BECOME UNUSABLE. WE CAN'T EVEN PULL THE SEATBELT BECAUSE THE FRAYED AREA GETS CAUGHT IN THE TOP SHOULDER MECHANISM. *TR
2007 ODYSSEY LX HAD BEEN DRIVEN FOR 40 MINUTES WHEN WE CAME TO A RED LIGHT AND BRAKED AS NORMAL. THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP UNTIL HALFWAY THROUGH THE INTERSECTION. FORTUNATELY, THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD SOFT BRAKES FOR A WHILE SO I HAVE ADJUSTED MY BRAKING, GIVING IT A LONG RUN TO STOP, BUT THIS TIME EVEN THAT WASN'T ENOUGH. THE HONDA DEALER TOLD US THAT THE BRAKING SYSTEM IS WORKING FINE! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE STOPPED, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF HIS VEHICLE CAUSING THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE REPAIRS WERE UNKNOWN. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED SPINAL INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS AND DEPRESSING THE BRAKES, THEY WOULD GO STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR BOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED HER THAT THE BRAKES WERE WORKING ACCORDING TO THEIR DESIGN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 65,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SHIFT SMOOTHLY, ESPECIALLY WHEN COMING TO A STOP YOU CAN FEEL AND HEAR THE TRANSMISSION DOWN SHIFTING. FIRST WE COULD FEEL THE ENGINE JUTTER BETWEEN 35 - 40 MPH WHEN UPSHIFTING. DEALER SAID IT NEEDED A SOFTWARE UPGRADE. WE GOT THE SOFTWARE UPGRADE - MADE IT WORSE. THEY THEN SAID IT NEEDED A NEW TORQUE CONVERTER. THE NEW TORQUE CONVERTER FIXED THE JUTTERING, NOW THE DOWNSHIFTING IS NOT SMOOTH. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AGAIN AND THEY ARE TELLING US IT'S FINE. I'VE SPOKEN TO A MECHANIC AND HE MENTIONED THAT HE HAS HEARD A LOT OF COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE ODYSSEY'S TRANSMISSION. *TR
2007 HONDA ODYSSEY. WHEN AT A SLOW SPEED, THE POWER STEERING PUMP MAY NOT BE OPERATING AT POWER AND YOU LOSE ALMOST ALL, IF NOT ALL POWER STEERING ASSIST. IT HAS NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT FOR ME TURNING INTO DRIVEWAYS AND PARKING SPACES MULTIPLE TIMES ALREADY (AT LEAST 3 INCIDENTS THAT WERE NEAR-MISSES). UPON REPORTING THE ISSUE TO HONDA, IT WAS DIFFICULT TO DUPLICATE IN A LIMITED TEST AND I WAS SIMPLY TOLD THAT WAS "NORMAL" IN MY VEHICLE. THERE ARE DOZENS OF REPORTS WITH OVER A HUNDRED PEOPLE JUST IN ONE INTERNET FORUM FOR HONDA ODYSSEY OWNERS AND THIS IS APPARENTLY AN ISSUE WITH 2006 THROUGH 2009 MODELS, AND POSSIBLY EVEN 2010 MODELS. HONDA HAS REPORTEDLY REPLACED POWER STEERING PUMPS, POWER STEERING FLUID RESERVOIRS, AND A FEW OTHER COMPONENTS FOR THOSE WHO HAD WARRANTIES, ALTHOUGH IT APPEARS THE ISSUE REMAINS OR IS ONLY RESOLVED UNTIL 10K - 20K MILES LATER WHEN IT RESURFACES. *TR
1. DRIVER IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC APPLIED BRAKES TO STOP VEHICLE, HOWEVER, VEHICLE DID NOT STOP IN TIME AND RESULTED IN A REAR-END COLLISION. THIS OCCURRED ON 11/30/2009. 2. VEHICLE OWNER REPORTED THAT WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED, THERE IS A LACK OF RESPONSE. BRAKING TIME AND DISTANCE BECAME SIGNIFICANTLY LONGER THAN NORMAL. THIS PROBLEM WAS FIRST OBSERVED BY THE VEHICLE OWNER ON 11/27/2009, HOWEVER, THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO STOP IN TIME ON THAT DATE, AND THE VEHICLE THEN FUNCTIONED NORMALLY UNTIL THE COLLISION THAT OCCURRED ON 11/30/2009. 3. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE ACCIDENT ON 11/30/2009, THE VEHICLE OWNER REPORTED THAT THE VEHICLE BRAKES HAD FAILED TO THE AUTO INSURANCE CARRIER, AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A DIAGNOSIS. UPON ARRIVING AT THE DEALERSHIP, THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE ACKNOWLEDGE THAT HONDA WAS AWARE OF THE BRAKING ISSUE, AND EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY, THEY OFFERED TO COVER THE REPAIR AT 90% AND INSTRUCTED THE OWNER TO COLLECT THE REMAINING 10% OF THE COST DIRECTLY FROM HONDA. THE DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSIS WAS THAT THE ABS MODULE WAS LEAKING AIR INTO THE BRAKE SYSTEM. ALL OTHER BRAKING COMPONENTS WERE OPERATIONAL. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE ABS MODULE, AND BLED THE BRAKE SYSTEM TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. THE OLD PARTS WERE DISPOSED OF BY THE DEALERSHIP PRIOR TO INSURANCE CARRIER BEING AWARE OF ISSUE. SERVICE RECORDS INDICATE THAT THE VEHICLE OWNER HAD VEHICLE BRAKING SYSTEM MAINTENANCE COMPLETED ON 8/19/2009 AT THE SAME DEALERSHIP. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT LEFT SIDE SLIDING DOOR AND THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER DOOR FAILED TO UNLOCK INTERMITTENTLY. SHE HAD TO CLIMB OVER TO THE OTHER SIDE OR TURN OFF THE VEHICLE AND RESTART IT TO GET OUT THE VEHICLE. ADDITIONALLY, SHE NOTICED REPEATED PROBLEMS WITH THE STEERING; THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT HOLD AN ALIGNMENT AND WOULD DRIFT TO THE SIDE. ALSO, PERIODICALLY, THERE WAS A GRINDING NOISE WHEN SHE ATTEMPTED TO STOP, AS IF SHE WERE DRIVING ON GRAVEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES WHERE THE TIRES WERE ROTATED AND ALIGNMENT WAS PERFORMED REGARDING THE SUSPENSION PROBLEM. THE DEALER ALSO INSTALLED A SEAL ON THE DOOR BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. IN REFERENCE TO THE BRAKE PROBLEM, THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE BUT DID ATTEMPT REPAIRS WHICH DID NOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT ASSIST HER. CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 36,950. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 20,500.
2007 HONDA ODYSSEY EX-L WITH SOFT, SPONGY BRAKES. HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN A FEW ACCIDENTS WITH THE BRAKES, HOWEVER, NOTHING SERIOUS YET. *TR
2 COMPLAINTS, FIRST ONE IS THE POWER STEERING PUMP WENT AT 35000 MILES. HONDA DID REPLACE IT UNDER WARRANTY. BUT THE PUMP IN NOW AT 60,000 MILES IS GOING BAD. SECOND COMPLAINT, THE FRONT LEFT HUB BEARING WENT BAD WAY TOO EARLY, 50,000 MILES. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM. CALLED HONDA AND THE LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES AND RECEIVED NO HELP AT ALL. THEY WOULD NOT COVER THIS PART OR THE WORKMANSHIP TO REPLACE IT. NOW AT 65,000 MILES THE VAN IS MAKING THE SAME NOISE SO I AM ASSUMING ANOTHER HUB BEARING IS GOING BAD. I HAVE NEVER PURCHASE A HONDA BEFORE THIS ONE, I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY, I HAVE ROLLED THROUGH EITHER A STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN ON THREE INSTANCES. I WAS PRESSING THE BRAKE IN A MANNER THAT I BELIEVED WAS SUFFICIENT TO STOP THE VEHICLE, BUT ROLLED APPROXIMATELY 1 CAR LENGTH PAST THE TARGETED STOPPING POINT. TO DATE, I HAVE NOT BEEN INVOLVED IN A CRASH AND THERE HAVE BEEN NO INJURIES. I PLAN ON CONTACTING THE DEALERSHIP TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE BECAUSE IT SHOULD STILL BE UNDER WARRANTY AND I HAVE READ THAT THERE IS AN OPEN INVESTIGATION FOR OTHER VEHICLES HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
BRAKES FEEL SQUISHY FOR LATE MODEL CAR, SEEMS TO GET WORSE. HAVEN'T HAD A CRASH, BUT READ RECENTLY ANNOUNCED ENGINEERING PROBE RELATED TO THIS ISSUE AND THOUGHT I'D CHIME IN. HONDA'S STANCE ON THIS, FROM THE DOCS POSTED IN CONJUNCTION W/ THE LAUNCH OF THE ENGINEERING PROBE, SEEMS TO BE BASICALLY AFTER A COUPLE YEARS THE BRAKES WILL NOT ENGAGE (PEDAL WILL HIT FLOOR BEFORE ENGAGING), BUT HOPEFULLY BEFORE THIS THE USER WILL KNOW BECAUSE THE TRAVEL DISTANCE OF PEDAL WILL GRADUALLY INCREASE. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!? THIS IS SCARY! MOST OF THE SOCCER MOMS I KNOW THAT DRIVE ODYSSEYS WILL *NOT* EVEN FEEL THE SQUISHY BRAKES -- THEY'LL JUST THINK IT TO BE NORMAL B/C IN MOST CARS THE PROBLEM IS STABLE -- DOESN'T GET WORSE! MAYBE THE RECALL SHOULD BE "IF YOU SEE AN ODYSSEY COMING', GET THE HECK OUT OF THE WAY! !" PLEASE FORCE A RECALL BEFORE SOMEBODY GETS KILLED! SHAME ON HONDA FOR SUCH A DUMB-HEADED RESPONSE TO THIS SERIOUS ISSUE. *TR
MY 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY HAS A PROBLEM WITH "MEMORY STEER". WHEN YOU MAKE A TURN TO THE LEFT THEM THE CAR HAS A PROBLEM WITH PULLING TO THE LEFT. WHEN YOU MAKE A TURN TO THE RIGHT THEN THE CAR HAS A PROBLEM WITH PULLING TO THE RIGHT. THIS CONDITION SEEMS TO BE WORSE TO THE LEFT. THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WILL CHANGE LANES INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC OR HEAD TOWARD THE DITCH VERY QUICKLY. THIS CONDITION CAUSED DRIVER FATIGUE IN THAT YOU HAVE TO CONSTANTLY GRIP THE STEERING WHEEL TIGHTLY FIGHTING AGAINST THE PULL OF THE CAR CAUSING YOU WRIST AND HAND TO HURT ON LONGER DRIVES (OVER 30 TO 60 MINUTES).
THE BRAKES ON THE VEHICLE FEEL SQUISHY AND SOFT, ESPECIALLY AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN FOR A WHILE. FOR EXAMPLE, COMING TO A STOP LAST WEDNESDAY AT A RED LIGHT, THE BRAKE PEDAL CONTINUED TRAVELING UNTIL IT ALMOST TOUCHED THE FLOOR AS THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME IT HAS HAPPENED. I HAVE ADJUSTED MY BRAKING TO ACCOUNT FOR LONGER TRAVEL OF THE PEDAL BUT THIS TIME IT JUST SEEMED A LITTLE TOO LONG. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TODAY AT TARRYTOWN HONDA, EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM ALONG WITH THE HONDA SERVICE BULLETIN 07-045 THAT MIGHT BE APPLICABLE AND THEY SAID EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL. SUCH A LONG PEDAL TRAVEL FOR BRAKING JUST DOESN'T FEEL NORMAL IN GENERAL BUT IT MAY BE THAT IT IS NORMAL FOR THIS VEHICLE. IN THAT CASE, ALL OWNERS SHOULD BE PROPERLY INFORMED SO THAT THEY CAN ADJUST THEIR BRAKING HABITS AND EXPECTATIONS.*TR
THE BRAKES ARE VERY SOFT AND SPONGY...BEEN SAVED A COUPLE OF TIMES REGARDING REAR ENDING SOMEONE, BUT TODAY AT 20 MILES AND HOUR - I CRASHED INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I HAD ENOUGH DISTANCE TO STOP THE CAR AND WAS LITERALLY STANDING ON THE BRAKE, BUT IT JUST DIDN'T STOP TILL IT CRASHED INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. *TR
BOUGHT HONDA 2007 ODYSSEY FROM DEALER.VEHICLE HAD 40,433MI. WINDOW STICKER SHOWED IT AS A HONDA (150 POINT INSPECTED) CERTIFIED VEHICLE. NOTICED SPONGY BRAKES DURING TEST DRIVE AND THOUGHT BRAKES JUST NEEDED TO BE BLEED. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE AND AFTER ONLY 400MILES THE PEDAL STARTED GOING DOWN TO FLOOR. AFTER 700MI THE CAR WAS TOO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. SEARCHING THE NET I FOUND OUT THERE WAS A SERVICE BULLETIN FOR A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH SPONGY BRAKES CAUSED BY DEFECTIVE VSA MODULE BUT NO RECALL. CHECKING MY WINDOW STICKER I SAVED AND IT SAID IT WAS A HONDA CERTIFIED VEHICLE BUT IN LOW LEFT CORNER SHOWED 90 DAY/1K MILE WARRANTY. I CALLED AMERICAN HONDA ABOUT MY BRAKE PROBLEM AND WAS GIVEN CONSIDERATION AND VSA MODULE REPLACED FOR A REDUCED COST TO ME OF $600.00 INSTEAD OF THE NORMAL $1200.00. THIS IS NOT RIGHT, I SHOULD NOT BE PAYING FOR A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT AND HOPE THAT THERE IS A RECALL SOON BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED. *TR
HONDA ODYSSEY 2007 DEFECTIVE OIL DRAIN PLUG HONDA'S DRAIN PLUG IS DEFECTIVE IN THAT IT GENERATES PERMANENT LEAKAGE UPON ITS REMOVAL IN THE EVENT OF AN OIL CHANGE. HONDA IS ACKNOWLEDGING THIS DEFECTIVE CONDITION OF THE DRAIN PLUG, AND IS REQUIRING THE CONSUMER TO BEAR THE BURDEN OF ITS DEFECTIVE PRODUCT BY REQUIRING THE RECURRING PURCHASE OF THESE REPLACEMENT DRAIN PLUGS EACH TIME THE OIL IS CHANGED. AGAIN, THIS LEAVES THE BURDEN OF THE DEFECTIVE PART ON THE CONSUMER, IN ADDITION TO ENABLING LARGE AMOUNTS OF OIL TO LEAK ONTO THE ENVIRONMENT, AS WELL AS ENDANGERING THE LIFE OF ONE'S VEHICLE IF THESE DRAIN PLUGS ARE NOT REPLACED UPON EACH OIL CHANGE. THE CONSUMER SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BEAR THIS BURDEN. HONDA SHOULD MANUFACTURE A SAFE NON-DEFECTIVE PRODUCT. ALSO, THE CONSUMER HAD TO FIGURE OUT WHY THE VEHICLE WAS LEAKING WHEN HONDA KNEW ALL ALONG AND DID NOT NOTIFY THE CONSUMER. *TR
MY WIFE AND I OWN A 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY, AND HAVE A CONSISTENT AND PERPETUAL BRAKE PROBLEM. THE BRAKES HAVE ALWAYS BEEN REALLY SOFT AND GO ALMOST TO THE GROUND WHEN BRAKING. IN ADDITION, WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES, SUCH AS WHEN PULLING UP TO A STOP SIGN, THERE IS A VERY LOUD GRINDING NOISE. IN MY EXPERIENCE THAT GRINDING NOISE IS A BAD THING. HOWEVER, ACCORDING TO MY DEALER, AND WE HAVE TAKEN THE VAN IN FOR BRAKE SERVICE SEVERAL TIMES FOR THEM TO FIX THIS ISSUE, THIS IS NORMAL FOR HONDA ODYSSEYS. SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE MATERIAL OF THE BRAKE PADS BECAUSE THE CAR IS HEAVIER. BUT THIS CANNOT POSSIBLY BE NORMAL, AND THE BRAKES SHOULD NOT TAKE SO LONG TO ENGAGE. I HAVE A VERY HARD TIME GETTING THIS VAN TO BRAKE GOING DOWN HILLS AND AM CONSTANTLY AFRAID THAT THEY WILL NOT ENGAGE IN TIME FOR ME TO STOP BEFORE HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I AM CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY, AND AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED THAT HONDA HAS TAKEN NO ACTION TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE, ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THAT ALL OF THE RESEARCH I HAVE COMPLETED SHOWS THAT THERE ARE MANY, MANY COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME NATURE FROM OTHER HONDA ODYSSEY OWNERS. *TR
2007 HONDA ODYSSEY BRAKE PROBLEMS. ONLY HAVE 34,000 AND THE BRAKES ARE MAKING THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKE. FEELS LIKE THE CAR WILL NOT STOP. TOOK CAR INTO DEALER & WAS TOLD TO MUCH MOUNTAIN DRIVING. (HAS NOT BEEN IN THE MOUNTAINS.) THEY MACHINED THE ROTORS AND REPLACED BRAKE PADS. THE ROTORS WERE WRAPPED TO DO EXCESSIVE HEAT. WE WERE ALSO TOLD THAT THIS IS A HEAVY VEHICLE AND THAT IS JUST WHAT THE BRAKES DO. AFTER 10 DAYS FROM THE REPAIR THE RIGHT FRONT BRAKE IS ALREADY STARTING TO MAKE A RUBBING NOISE. I HAVE HAD A LOT OF CARS IN THE PAST THAT HAVE HAD MOUNTAIN MILES AND TOWING MILES ON THE CAR & HAVE NEVER HAD SUCH BRAKE PROBLEMS. *TR
2007 HONDA ODYSSEY MINI VAN'S BRAKES ARE VERY SOFT AND LOW AND EXTENDS STOPPING BY MANY FEET. ALMOST REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. HONDA SERVICE CENTER PULLED A SERVICE BULLETIN NO. 074-045 AND WANT TO REPLACE ABS/TCS ORVSA MODULATOR-CONTROL UNIT TO CORRECT THE AIR ENTERING THE BRAKE SYSTEM. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 40-50 MPH, THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE HEARD A NOISE. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE AS IF IT WERE IN THE WRONG GEAR. AFTER REPAIRS, WHEN DRIVING AT MINIMUM LOW SPEEDS AND DRIVING UPHILL, THE VEHICLE WOULD VIOLENTLY JERK. THE DEALER ADVISED THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT WITH THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING REPAIRS. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE REPAIR WOULD NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 52,000. UPDATED 10/27/10. *LJ
STRONG PULLING/DRIFTING TO RIGHT. DRIVER MUST USE CONSTANT STRENGTH TO KEEP CAR DRIVING STRAIGHT OR WILL END UP IN THE NEXT LANE WITHIN ABOUT 6 SECONDS. CAN BE MORE DIFFICULT THAN USUAL TO KEEP VAN STEERING STRAIGHT WHEN LOOKING OVER SHOULDER TO SWITCH LANES. HAVE ACCIDENTALLY PULLED CLOSE TO OTHERS, CAUSING THEM TO HONK FOR FEAR WE WERE COMING INTO THEIR LANE NEXT TO THEM. HAD VAN IN TO DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES AND THEY WILL ONLY CHECK TIRE POSITION, BRAND, TREAD, AND ALIGNMENT AND HAVE NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM. HUNDREDS OF OTHERS TALKING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM ONLINE WITH SAME LACK OF FIX FROM DEALERS. *TR
FRONT GRILLE OF HONDA ODYSSEY- AND MANY OTHER MODELS ALLOWS FOR ROAD DEBRIS TO DAMAGE CONDENSER COILS IN ENGINE. NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY DUE TO BEING A ROAD HAZARD- BUT SIMPLY LOOKING AT DESIGN WILL BE OBVIOUS THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW. SEVERE MISJUDGMENT HAS OCCURRED WITH THIS DESIGN- AND HONDA IS REFUSING TO COVER THIS UNDER ANY WARRANTY- DEALER AGREES, MECHANIC AGREES- WORST DESIGN EVER. *TR
MY AC QUIT WORKING IN MY 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY. THIS WAS IN JULY, 2008 WITH ONLY 13900 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD IT WAS A HOLE IN CONDENSER, AND NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE SERVICE ADVISOR EXPLAINED TO ME THAT IT WAS BECAUSE HONDA WAS MAKING THE GRILLE WIDER TO ALLOW THE ENGINE TO STAY COOLER. AND THAT THIS WAS A FREAK THING. NOW, LESS THAN 1 YEAR LATER, IT'S HAPPENED AGAIN! THEY WON'T FIX IT OR DISCOUNT IT DUE TO IT BEING "ROAD DAMAGE". I UNDERSTAND THAT NOW THEY ARE MAKING THEM WITH GRILLS FOR PROTECTION ON THE 2008 MODELS AND LATER. OBVIOUSLY THEY'VE REALIZED IT'S A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT. *TR
