POWER STEERING FAILURE AT LOW SPEEDS. REPORTED TO HONDA IN 2010. THEY REPLACED THE RESERVOIR BUT NEVER FIXED THE PROBLEM. NOW HONDA IS REFUSING TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE.
ON SEVERAL OCCASSIONS I'M HAVING TO PUT MY VEHICLE IN DRIVE AND START MOVING BEFORE MY SIDE DOORS WHICH ARE AUTOMATIC ON MY 07 HONDA ODYSSEY EX TO CLOSE. THEY HAVEN'T BEEN CLOSING PROPERLY FOR THE LAST FEW MONTHS AND I HAVE CHILDREN AT TIMES IN MY VEHICLE WHICH IS VERY UNSAFE.
ENGINE MOUNTS WENT BAD. WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOPPED POSITION, THE CAR APPEARS TO JUMP. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND BOTH THE FRONT AND BACK ENGINE MOUNTS WERE CRACKED. VERY EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE. DEALER SAID IT'S NOT A COMMON PROBLEM ON MOST CARS, BUT HE'S HAD SEVERAL HONDA ODYSSEYS COME IN WITH THIS PROBLEM.
BRAKE PEDDLE HAS EXCESSIVE TRAVEL ALMOST TOUCHES THE FLOOD WHEN APPLYING BRAKES
THE POWER STEERING PUMP IN MY HONDA ODYSSEY 2007 IS POORLY CONSTRUCTED. IT WAS GIVING ME TROUBLE SINCE THE BEGINNING, BUT RECENTLY, THE STEERING WHEEL IS VERY HARD TO TURN AND IT OFTEN GETS STUCK. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL MIDAS FOR INVESTIGATION AND THEY ARE ESTIMATING THE REPAIRS DUE TO THE POWER STEERING PUMP NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE ESTIMATED CHARGE FOR REPAIR IS ABOUT $870. HONDA SAYS THAT IT'S ELIGIBLE FOR A RECALL REPAIR UNTIL 2014, BUT THEY DID NOT SEND ME A LETTER OR NOTIFICATION REGARDING THE RECALL. WHEN AMERICAN HONDA WAS CONTACTED, THEY ASKED ME TO CONTACT THE SERVICE MANAGER IN MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP IS SUPPOSED TO INFORM ME ABOUT THE RECALL. I CALLED THE SERVICE MANAGER BUT NO REPLY RECEIVED. I AM DRIVING A UNSAFE VEHICLE WITH TWO SMALL CHILDREN AND I CANT AFFORD SUCH COSTLY REPAIRS.
STEERING WHEEL IS HARD TO TURN QUICKLY AT LOW SPEEDS, AND WHILE AT PARKING. I KNEW THAT WAS A PROBLEM IN 2010 IN THOUSAND OF THESE VEHICLE, WHICH HONDA REPLACED THE PART, WITH TWO EFFORTS, AFTER BEING SUPPLIED WITH WRONG PART IN THE PAST. I TOOK MY CAR TO LOCAL HONDA DEALER TODAY (HARSONS HONDA), WHO COMPLAINED THE SAME THING, AND WANTS ME TO REPLACE THE POWER STEERING PUMP DURING MY TIMING BELT CHANGE. I ASK THEN WHETHER THEY CAN LOOK FOR, WHETHER MY VAN HAS THE CORRECT PART (WHICH PROBABLY HAVE), BUT SAID THERE IS A NO WAY TO CHECK UNLESS I HAVE THE INVOICE, WHICH I DEFINITELY HAVE NOT, AS I PURCHASED FROM A PRIVATE OWNER. HOWEVER, THE SYMPTOMS LOOK LIKE THE SAME (WHICH TECHNICIAN COMPLAINT DUE TO FAILURE IN POWER STEERING PUMP, BUT DID NOT TELL ANYTHING ABOUT THE PART, SEE ATTACHED REPORT), THAT IT IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE, WHICH THOUSANDS OF ODYSSEY OWNER FACED BEFORE. I WANT TO MAKE SURE, THAT IT HAS A RIGHT PART ON IT (EVEN AGED OUT), OR EVEN IT IS FIXED; IT MIGHT HAVE GONE WRONG. I WANT THIS ISSUE IS TO BE RESOLVED AS HONDA SHOULD LOOK INTO THIS SEROUS SAFETY ISSUE, WHICH HONDA ALSO ADMITS BACK IN 2011 (SEE ATTACHED).
LOW SOFT BRAKE PEDDLE
WHEN I WAS BRAKING AT SLOW SPEED THE ENGINE ACCELERATED. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES. I HAD TO PRESS THE BRAKE HARD TO KEEP THE VEHICLE FROM GOING FORWARD. ONCE I PUT IT IN NEUTRAL.
VSA LIGHT STAYS ON. BRAKING IS SOFT. AFTER HARD STOP CAR SHUDDERED AND DROVE ROUGH UPON ACCELERATING . BRAKING IS NO LONGER THE SAME AS BEFORE THE LIGHT CAME ON.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE FRONT END OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE FRONT AND REAR PASSENGER SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY WITH THE MASSIVE IMPACT. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER AND FRONT SEAT OCCUPANTS SUSTAINED BODY BRUISES THAT DID REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 133,000. UPDATED 04/26/16*LJ *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED INTO PARK, THE VEHICLE STILL MOVED. THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT AND OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RANGE SWITCH WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,917.
WHEN I AM DRIVING MY VAN AT ABOUT 65 AND ABOVE AND WHEN I HIT THE BRAKE THE STEERING WHEEL STARTS TO VIBRATE VERY BADLY. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN I AM DRIVING AT LESS THAN 60 MPH. EVERY TIME THIS HAPPENS, I FEEL LIKE I MIGHT CRASH INTO OTHER VEHICLES OR RUN OFF THE ROAD DUE TO THE VEHICLE BECOMING VERY UNSTABLE. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES BUT THEY TEST DRIVE IT AND SAY THAT THERE IS NO ISSUES.
SOFT LOW BRAKE PEDDLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE
VEHICLES PULLS VERY HARD TO THE RIGHT ALL THE TIME ESPECIALLY WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH. WE HAVE TO HOLD THE STEERING WHEEL AT ALMOST A 20 DEGREE ANGLE TO THE LEFT TO COUNTER THE PULL TO THE RIGHT. WE TOOK IT TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP TWICE AND THEY CLAIM THAT THE ALIGNMENT IS WITHIN THE MANUFACTURER SPECIFICATIONS. I THINK THIS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE WHEN THE CAR WANTS TO CHANGE LANES BY ITSELF.
I WAS INVOLVED IN A THREE CAR ACCIDENT. I WAS THE THIRD CAR, WE WERE LEAVING FROM A TRAFFIC LIGHT ON HIGHWAY MARYLAND 301 THAT JUST TURNED GREEN. ACCORDING TO THE DRIVER OF THE SECOND CAR, DRIVER OF CAR ONE SLAMMED ON HER BRAKES AFTER TAKING OFF. I THAN RAN INTO CAR NUMBER TWO. I SUSTAINED FRONT END DAMAGE AND MY AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.

WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND CAR WAS RUNNING VERY POORLY. TOOK CAR TO LOCAL AUTO PARTS STORE, EMPLOYEE HOOKED CAR TO DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER AND MISFIRE CODES CAME UP AND CAR WAS ONLY RUNNING ON 2 CYLINDERS. DROVE CAR TO MECHANIC. AFTER DIAGNOSING PROBLEM WAS EXPLAINED I WOULD NEED A FULL TUNE UP AND HEAD REPLACING. AFTER FURTHER EXPLORING MECHANIC NOTICED METAL FILINGS IN CYLINDER AND RECOMMENDED ENGINE REPLACEMENT DUE TO DAMAGE TO HOUSING AND POSSIBLY TO RINGS. WHICH WOULD COST MORE THEN VALUE OF CAR.
MAIN FUEL LINE, LEAK IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT. STEEL FUEL LINE RUBBER COATED , STEEL HAD RESTED ALLOWING RAW GAS LEAK. MAJOR FIRE HASERT. STRONG GAS FUMES STARTED COMING INTO CABIN WHEN THE BLOWER WAS PUT ON, WHILE DRIVING ON STREET.
I HAVE A 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY AND I HAD TO HAVE THE FRONT AND REAR MOTOR MOUNTS REPLACED LAST YEAR IN FEB 2014. THE CAR ONLY HAD 67000 MILES. WELL, IT HAS BEEN LESS THAT 2 YEARS AND THE MOUNTS HAVE GONE BAD AGAIN. I HAVE SEEN MANY SITES THAT HAVE COMPLAINTS OF THIS BEING MAJOR PROBLEM BUT HONDA DOES NOT WANT TO DO A RECALL. LAST TIME IT COST ME OVER $500 FOR THE 2 AND THIS TIME THE COST WILL BE ABOUT THE SAME. I HAVE NOT CONTACTED HONDA YET BUT WILL DO SO TOMORROW. ALSO, I HAD THE TIMING BELT AND TENSIONER REPLACED IN FEB 2014 AS WELL AND NOW THE WATER PUMP, TIMING BELT AND TENSIONER NEED REPLACEMENT AGAIN. THEY SIT NEXT TO THE MOTOR MOUNT AND I AM WONDERING IF THE BAD MOUNT IS ALSO DAMAGING THE WATER PUMP, ETC....
UNUSUAL SHIFTS BETWEEN 30-45 MPH. SEEMS LIKE TRANSMISSION IS "HUNTING" FOR GEAR. WHEN GOING DOWNHILL AND BRAKE IS APPLIED A NOTICEABLE DOWNSHIFT IS FELT. FIRST TIME THIS WAS OBSERVED WAS ON WINDING AND HILLY ROADS. ASSUMED IT WAS THE "ECO" KICKING IN/OUT OR THE TRANSMISSION SIMPLY DOWNSHIFTING.
THE AUTOMATIC REAR DOORS DON'T LATCH PROPERLY AND CAN OCCASIONALLY OPEN DURING SHARP TURNS.
2007 HONDA ODYSSEY. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE PAINT CHIPPING DAMAGES. *SMD THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THE PAINT CHIPPING WAS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR HER MODEL AND COLOR VEHICLE. ALSO, THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED A PROBLEM WITH THE LOCKING MECHANISM.
I WAS PICKING UP MY SON FROM SCHOOL WHEN I GOT BACK ON THE CAR I NOTICE SOME SMOG COMING OUT OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, FOR A MOMENT I THOUGH THAT THE SMOG HAVE GONE AWAY BUT WHEN I OPEN THE HOOD THERE WAS A FIRE ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. I TRIED TO EXTINGUISH THE FILE WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER BUT I COULDN'T CONTAIN THE FIRE. WE CALLED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND THEY TOOK OVER. THE FIRE DESTROYED THE FRONT END OF THE CAR THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. WHEN THE FIRE BEGAN THE CAR WAS STATIONARY I WAS GETTING READY TO LEAVE FROM A PARKING LOT IN MY SON'S SCHOOL.
THERE WAS A SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER 10V098000 FOR VSA MODULATOR. I WENT TO DEALER TO FIX THIS RECALL AROUND IN 2014 AND NOW MY ODYSSEY IS GETTING "! VSA" LIGHT ON DASHBOARD. I CHECKED THE CODE AND CODE IS "DTC 66: VSA PRESSURE SENSOR INSIDE VSA MODULATOR CONTROL UNIT". DEALER IS SAYING VSA MODULATOR IS FAILED AND REPLACEMENT COST IS ~$1500. HONDA SOLD DEFECTIVE PART ON THIS VEHICLES AND THERE WERE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT VSA FAILURES ON THIS VEHICLES. MY ODYSSEY IS ONLY 37,000 MILEAGE. THIS VSA MODULATOR CONTROLS ABS ALSO AND WE ARE VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE STABILITY OF THE VEHICLE WITH THE FAILURE OF THIS MODULE. PLEASE FIND THE PHOTO OF THE DTC CODE READ BY THE AUTO SHOP. FIXING THIS MODULE IS VERY EXPENSIVE AND HONDA SHOULD PAY FOR SELLING THE DEFECTIVE ITEMS WHICH ARE MAINLY SAFETY CONCERNS.
HONDA ODYSSEY 2007 MODEL IS HAVING A RECALL ON VSA WITH SERVICE BULLETIN 13-098 ON MALFUNCTION OF VSA IN THE VEHICLE. MY VEHICLE WAS PERFORMED THIS RECALL IN 2014. NOW MY VEHICLE IS STARTED SHOWING "! VSA" ORANGE LIGHT ON THE DASH BOARD. HONDA OF FREEHOLD DEALER (WWW.HONDAOFFREEHOLD.COM) PERFORMED THE DIAGNOSTIC ($136 CHARGED) AND TOLD ME THAT ABS/VSA CONTROL UNIT PART NUMBER 57110-SHJ-A61 IS BAD AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. COST OF THIS PART IS $1117.50 AND THE QUOTED SERVICE CHARGE IS $256.00. MY VEHICLE IS JUST COMPLETED 37,000 MILES. WHEN I SEARCH THE WEB FOR "VSA MODULATOR UNIT" FAILURE IN ODYSSEY. THERE ARE MANY CUSTOMERS REPORTED THE FAILURE OF THIS PART. HONDA IS SELLING DEFECTIVE PARTS IN THEIR VEHICLES. THIS PART IS VERY EXPENSIVE AND FAILED WITH VERY LESS MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE AND MANY OF THE CUSTOMERS REPORTED FAILURES. PLEASE TAKE AN ACTION REGARDING THIS DEFECTIVE PART IN THE HONDA VEHICLES. HONDA NEED TO PAY THE PART AND SERVICE FOR THIS.
THE "D" / DRIVE LED STARTED BLINKING SEVERAL TIMES AT AROUND 104.660 MILES. SO FAR NO OTHER FAULT LED WAS FLASHING. HOWEVER I DISCOVERED SINCE A WHILE THAT THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS VERY HARD WHEN DRIVING SLOWER AND THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS FROM 3RD GEAR TO 2ND GEAR. THE HONDA TECHNICIAN HOWEVER TOLD ME THAT THIS ROUGH SHIFTING IS NOT AN ISSUE.
TODAY 10/5/15, WENT TO COME WORK AND I NOTICED THE OUTSIDE TEMP WAS NOT WORKING. THE INTERMITTENT WIPERS NOT WORKING...ONLY WORKED ON HIGH. THE REAR WIPER WAS NOT WORKING. THE FLUID WOULD NOT WORK EITHER. THE LIGHTS WOULD NOT GO ON HIGH, WERE ONLY DIM. THE TURN SIGNALS WOULD NOT WORK. THE DEFROST DID NOT WORK EITHER. WHEN I GOT TO WORK I ATTEMPTED TO OPEN REAR PASSENGER DOOR AND IT DID NOT OPEN EITHER. THE DOORS WOULD NOT LOCK AUTOMATICALLY WITH REMOTE OR DOOR LOCK CONTROL ON DRIVERS DOOR. I DIDN'T ATTEMPT TO OPEN WINDOWS BECAUSE OF THE WEATHER. NOW IT IS HAS BEEN RAINING PRETTY MUCH NON-STOP SINCE 10/1. FUSES SEEM TO BE OK.
ENGINE HAS EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE. I'VE BEEN BURNING ABOUT 3 QUARTS OF OIL PER MONTH.
THE POWER WINDOWS ARE NOT ROLLING DOWN ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND THE BACK WINDOWS. ONLY THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOWS ARE GETTING ROLLED DOWN. WE LIVE IN FLORIDA AND DURING THE DAY TIME, IT IS VERY HOT AND NEEDS TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS TO ESCAPE FROM THE EXTREME HEAT. BUT BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM, IT IS VERY DIFFICULT. IT IS BECOMING DIFFICULT WITH THE KIDS. I SEE SIMILAR ISSUE HAPPENING WITH MOST OF THE HONDA ODYSSEY OWNERS.
(1) DEALER PERFORMED THE RECALL ITEM VSA UPDATE 13-098 ON 8/5/15. AFTER THAT DRIVING HOME THE VSA WARNING LIGHT APPEARED. (2) CAME BACK TO DEALER ON 8/28/15 DEALER FOUND CODES 61-1 AND 66-1, CLAIMED IT WAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE RECALL AND WANTED TO CHARGE FOR A DIAGNOSTIC. HOWEVER, VSA WARNING LIGHT NEVER CAME ON BEFORE THE RECALL UPDATE FOR ALL TIME BEFORE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO INDICATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER SIDE BALL JOINT WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY EQUIPPED WITH NATIONAL OVATION PLUS (NA) TIRES, SIZE: 235/65R/16 (NA). WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED SEVERE VIBRATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DISCOVERED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES WERE DAMAGED AND DRY ROTTED. NO FURTHER INFORMATION WAS AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE UNKNOWN.
I HAVE OWNED MY VEHICLE FOR 4 YEARS NOW AND SINCE IT WAS FIRST PURCHASED IT HAS BEEN HAND WASHED AND DETAILED. I HAVE NOW ENCOUNTER MY PAINT PEELING IN PLACES WHERE THERE HAS BEEN NO DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE AND RUST IN PLACES WHERE THERE HAS BEEN DAMAGE AS WELL. IN RESEARCHING THIS MODEL YEAR VEHICLE I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS THE NUMBER ONE COMPLAINT FOR THIS CAR. I AM WONDERING WHY THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALLS FOR THIS. I SPOKE WITH HONDA BUT THEY INFORMED ME THAT BECAUSE MY VEHICLE WASN'T THE COLOR THEY RECALLED PREVIOUSLY THEY COULD NOTHING ABOUT IT. I DON'T BELIEVE THAT AND I AND MY PARENTS HAVE BEEN LOYAL HONDA CUSTOMERS FOR 15 YEARS YET THERE ARE NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING FOR ME. I WOULD LIKE THIS RESOLVED AND BE ABLE TO HAVE MY PAINT REPAIRED BEFORE I HAVE MORE PROBLEMS DOWN THE ROAD.
WHILE DRIVING THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SEEM TO BLINK OUT AND COME BACK ON. ALL ELECTRICAL PARTS SEEM TO BE AFFECTECTED.
THE PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR WILL NOT CLOSE COMPLETELY USING POWERED CLOSING MECHANISM. WHEN THE POWER MECHANISM IS TURNED OFF ON THE DASHBOARD AND THE DOOR IS CLOSED MANUALLY BY HAND, IT STAYS CLOSED BUT ONLY FOR A FEW SECONDS. THEN THE BACK PART OF THE DOOR POPS OPEN. IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW MANY TIMES THE BACK OF THE DOOR IS PUSHED CLOSED (AND THE LOCK BUTTON HURRIEDLY LOCKED) THE BACK OF THE DOOR WILL POP OPEN. WHEN IT IS BEING DRIVEN DOWN THE ROAD/HIGHWAY THE DOOR OPEN LIGHT IS ON, THE DOOR IS NOT CLOSED COMPLETELY AND ROAD/HIGHWAY NOISE IS HEARD FROM THE PARTIALLY OPEN DOOR. ON OCCASION, (WHEN TURNING RIGHT, GOING DOWNHILL, GOING OVER CERTAIN BUMPS) THE LIGHT WILL GO OFF AND THE DOOR WILL "CLOSE" BUT THIS IS ONLY TEMPORARY. AS SOON AS THE TURN IS FINISHED, NOT GOING DOWNHILL, OR GO OVER ANOTHER SMALL BUMP, THE DOOR WILL POP OPEN IN THE BACK AND THE LIGHT WILL TURN BACK ON. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE CHILDREN ARE TRANSPORTED IN THE VEHICLE!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE SAFETY ASSIST SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. WAS DRIVING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY WITH MY FAMILY AT 65-70 MPH WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I LOST ALL POWER TO MY VAN. IT WAS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION, I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO COAST TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER, I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY ARE NOW SAYING IT IS THE FUEL PUMP. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE FUEL PUMP (# 14E049000)&(GL14-004). BUT MY VIN# DOES NOT SHOW A RECALL. WHAT CAN I DO?
I WAS DRIVING AROUND 20MPH WHEN I SMELLED SMOKE I PULLED OVER. THERE WAS SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE CAR AROUND THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE. WITHIN MINUTES MY ENGINE WAS ON FIRE. MY CAR IS COMPLETELY TOTALED. MY FAMILY IS SAFE BUT WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHY THIS HAS HAPPENED AND DON'T WANT IT TO HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE. IF THERE IS ANOTHER WEBSITE OR AGENCY THAT I SHOULD REPORT THIS TO, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. MY CATALYTIC CONVERTER SHIELDS (FRONT COVER A AND B) WERE REPLACED ON 6/19/2012. ON 6/22/2015 THE FRONT (A AND B) CATALYTIC CONVERTER SHIELDS WERE REPLACED AGAIN AND THE THE REAR SHIELDS (A AND B) WERE REPLACED AS WELL. I'M NOT SURE IF THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BUT IT SEEMS EXCESSIVE SO I THOUGHT I WOULD REPORT IT.

AT APPROXIMATELY 6:00 PM. OWNER [XXX] WENT TO PICK UP VEHICLE AND WAS INFORMED THAT VEHICLE HAD CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE BEING PARKED (STATIONARY) THERE FOR THE DAY. 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY TOURING VAN PARKED IN GROCERY STORE PARKING LOT. USED KEY FAB TO AUTOMATICALLY OPEN TAILGATE. WHILE LOADING GROCERIES INTO THE BACK OF THE VAN, THE TAILGATE SUDDENLY, AND WITHOUT WARNING, DROPPED HITTING THE PERSON LOADING GROCERIES IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD, RESULTING IN A MILD CONCUSSION. THE TAILGATE NO LONGER STAYS OPEN WHEN OPENED MANUALLY, AND AUTOMATICALLY SHUTS AGAIN WHEN OPENED AUTOMATICALLY. THIS STRUT FAILURE IS SIMILAR TO THE ISSUES ON THE 2008-2009 ODYSSEYS THAT WERE RECALLED.
APPROXIMATELY 3 WEEKS AGO, MY WIFE WENT OUT TO OUR DRIVEWAY TO START HER DAY AND SUDDENLY THE PASSENGER DOOR AND LIFTGATE ON OUR LOW MILEAGE 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY MINIVAN WOULD NOT OPEN. NEITHER COULD BE OPENED VIA REMOTE OR PHYSICAL LEVEL (INTERIOR OR EXTERIOR). AT THE SAME TIME, THE RIGHT TAIL LIGHT STOPPED LIGHTING. THE DEALERSHIP CANNOT EXPLAIN THE COINCIDENCE, WHICH SUGGESTS SOME SORT OF ELECTICAL ISSUE WHICH BROKE MULTIPLE ACTUATORS, BUT REGARDLESS IT IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. RIGHT NOW OCCUPANTS COULD VERY WELL BE TRAPPED IN THE VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY. THE DEALER HAS PROVIDED AN ESTIMATE OF $1000 TO REPAIR, AND I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD ADDRESS THE ISSUE AT THEIR EXPENSE AS THERE ARE MANY, MANY REPORTS OF HONDAS SUFFERING FROM THESE DOOR AND LIFTGATE ISSUES. PLEASE HELP MAKE THEM ACCOUNTABLE BEFORE SOMEONE IS INJURED OR KILLED. THANKS

THE AIR BAG DASH LIGHT WILL ACTIVATE AFTER THE VAN HAS BEEN STARTED AND HAS BEEN RUNNING FOR A SHORT WHILE. THIS HAPPENS ON MOST TRIPS FAIRLY CONSISTENTLY NOW. AIR BAGS SHOULD BE WARRANTED FOR THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLES, ESPECIALLY FOR HONDA, SINCE THEY ARE PUTTING POOR QUALITY SRS UNITS IN THEIR PRODUCTS FOR THE LAST 15 YEARS OR MORE. *TR
OPEN DRIVER SLIDING DOOR TO PLACE GROCERIES AND SHUT THE DOOR. THERE WAS A BUZZING SOUND (WHICH HAS SOUNDED PREVIOUSLY BUT GOES AWAY IF THE SLIDING DOOR LOCK IS PUT INTO PLACE) AS I ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE. AS I TURNED A CORNER, THE DOOR OPENED ALL THE WAY WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET. I USED THE AUTOMATIC DOOR CLOSER AND IT CLOSED. LESS THAN 10 MINUTES LATER, STILL WHILE DRIVING ON A STREET, THE DOOR OPENED FULLY AGAIN. I BRAKED AND PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND ATTEMPTED TO USE THE AUTOMATIC DOOR CLOSER, AND IT CLOSED, BUT OPENED AGAIN RIGHT AFTER I STARTED THE CAR AND TURNED A CORNER. I STOPPED THE CAR AND GOT OUT AND ATTEMPTED TO CLOSE THE DOOR MANUALLY, BUT IT WOULDN'T CLOSE TIGHTLY. BECAUSE I WAS ONLY A BLOCK AWAY FROM HOME, I DROVE HOME AND PARKED IN THE GARAGE. I ATTEMPTED TO CLOSE THE DOOR SEVERAL TIMES, BUT IT WOULDN'T CLOSE COMPLETELY SHUT. LATER, I WENT BACK INTO THE GARAGE, I OPENED THE DOOR AND IT SHUT TIGHTLY THIS TIME. NOW, I AM AFRAID TO USE THE DOOR. I BOUGHT THE MINIVAN BECAUSE I HAVE CHILDREN. *TR
THE SLIDING DOOR COMPLETELY FELL OFF. THIS WAS UNPROVOKED. I OPENED IT AND IT DIDN'T OPEN ALL THE WAY. I THEN ATTEMPTED TO CLOSE IT AND IT WAS STUCK SO I TURNED OFF THE ELECTRIC PART. NOW THAT IT WAS MANUAL I ATTEMPTED TO CLOSE IT AND IT FELL OFF COMPLETE! *TR
WE OWN AN ODYSSEY AND CRV. BOTH OF THEM HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE HEAT SHIELD RUSTING AND MAKING NOISES WHEN ACCELERATING. THE ONLY WAY TO REPLACE IT IS TO REPLACE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER, WHICH IS VERY EXPENSIVE. IN RESEARCHING THIS ONLINE IT LOOKS LIKE MANY OTHER HONDA OWNERS WITH ALL DIFFERENT MAKES AND MODELS HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM. HAS THIS BEEN INVESTIGATED? THE OTHER OPTION IS TO REMOVE THIS HEAT SHIELD BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE THIS COULD CAUSE A FIRE IF YOU PARK ON GRASS OR IT COULD DAMAGE THE OTHER CAR PARTS IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE CONVERTER.. *TR
I BOUGHT MY 2007 ODYSSEY IN 2014. IT HAD 55000 MILES ON IT AND APPEARED TO BE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. IT RAN VERY WELL EXCEPT THAT THE EMISSIONS LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND USUALLY STAY ON. IT DID PASS DURING ONE SHORT PERIOD. NOTICED AS IT WENT OVER 60,000 IT HAD MORE AND MORE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. WOULD NOT BACK UP; WOULDN'T GO INTO ECO MODE; SHUDDERED DURING DRIVING, UNTIL IT WAS UNDRIVEABLE. THERE WERE NO CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH THE TRANSMISSION WORKED WELL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY. WHILE PARKING 5 MPH WITH THE BRAKES ENGAGED, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING AND THERE WAS A SUDDEN INCREASE IN ENGINE RPMS. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO AN ELECTRICAL CABLE BOX. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. TWO DAYS LATER, THE VSA LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND WAS REPAIRED. UPDATED 7/14/15*CN
BOTH SIDE DOORS STOPPED FUNCTIONING. THEY WOULD NOT CLOSE. AFTER 30-40 MINUTES I FORCED THEM CLOSED. HONDA TOLD ME THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM AS THE ROLLERS WERE CRACKED ON BOTH DOORS. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE MY CHILDREN WERE IN THE BACK SEATS.
