TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER HAVING THE VEHICLE SERVICED FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V500000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM), THE VSA MODULE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VSA MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 67,400. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE BRAKES SUDDENLY HARDENED AND WOULD NOT ENGAGE WHILE GOING DOWNHILL. THIS PROBLEM WAS FIRST NOTICED IN . I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO WOODLAND HILLS KEYES HONDA AND LEARNED THAT THE BRAKE POWER BOOSTER WAS DEFECTIVE. THIS SAME VEHICLE WAS THE SUBJECT OF A RECALL OF THE MASTER CYLINDER. BASED ON HONDA'S RECOMMENDATIONS, THE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER IS TO BE REPLACED IF THERE IS ANY LEAK. IT IS MY POSITION, THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER UPON DETERMINING THAT IT WAS LEAKING AS IMPLICIT IN THE RECALL REQUIRED THAT THE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER BE REPLACED. HAD THIS BEEN REPLACED THERE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN A FAILURE TO THE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED INDEPENDENTLY TO 20 MPH. THE FAILURE OCCURRED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 13V500000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE ECM, WIRING HARNESS OR THROTTLE BODY COULD HAVE BEEN CAUSING THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 174,600.

I BOUGHT 2007 ODYSSEY AT 67,000 MILES. I PURCHASED A TRADE-IN VEHICLE FROM STERLING ACURA DEALER, STEERING DRIFTS TO THE RIGHT WITHIN 3 SECONDS, I TOOK THE VAN TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES THEY'VE SWITCHED TIRE POSITIONS, DONE THE ALIGNMENT STILL THE DRIFT TO THE RIGHT HAPPENS. THEN THEY SAY IT'S BECAUSE OF ROAD CROWING WHICH I TOTALLY DON'T ACCEPT. I READ THROUGH MANY FORUMS WHERE EVERYONE IS PISSED-OFF WITH THIS PROBLEM. I SUPPOSE HONDA SHOULD FIX THIS PROBLEM OR PART KNOWLEDGE WITH THE DEALER ON HOW TO FIX IT. *TR
A DAY AFTER AND GOING FORWARD FROM PURCHASING MY 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY EX-L SOFT BRAKE, PEDAL GOING ALL THE WAY TO GROUND BEFORE STOPPING WHEN DRIVING 5 TO 55 MPH. MARTIN MAIN LINE HONDA SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE SAID THIS IS NORMAL. I DISAGREE. I AM CONCERN WITH MY SAFETY AND OTHERS WHO WILL BE IN THE VAN WITH ME. *TR
THE CONDITION WAS FIRST NOTICED SHORTLY AFTER AQUIRING THE VEHICLE IN A PARKING LOT WHILE TRYING TO NEGOTIATE A TURN. THE VEHICLE STEERING WAS NORMAL AT FIRST AND THEN SUDDENLY REQUIRED EXCESSIVE FORCE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. HEAVY BRAKING WAS REQUIRED TO AVOID A COLLISION WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THIS EXPERIENCE, AFTER GETTING THE VEHICLE TO A SAFE LOCATION, I ATTEMPTED TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL BOTH DIRECTIONS WHILE STOPPED AND AT LOW SPEEDS, (APPROXIMATELY 0-10 MPH) AND NOTICED THE CONDITION CONSISTANTLY FOR APPROXIMATELY 2-3 MINUTES. I THEN PARKED THE VEHICLE. I CHECKED THE FLUID LEVEL AND IT WAS WITHIN THE MIN AND MAX LEVELS. AFTER RETURNING TO THE VEHICLE LATER THAT DAY, THE STEERING WAS FUNCTIONING NORMALLY. THE CONDITION HAS SINCE COME AND GONE SEVERAL TIMES (APPROXIMATELY 1-2 TIMES / WEEK) AND MY HONDA DEALER HAS JUST SHRUGGED IT OFF SAYING THAT IF I CAN'T REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM WHILE AT THEIR SHOP, THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO. I HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH A 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY AND THE DEALER REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT EVEN WHILE UNDER WARRANTY. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, I HAVE FOUND THAT THERE ARE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS ISSUED BY HONDA TO THEIR DEALERS FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE, BUT THE DEALER STILL REFUSES TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE SAFETY ISSUE ARRISES ESPECIALLY WHEN SOMEONE UNFAMILIAR WITH THE VEHICLE DRIVES IT AS WHEN MY MOTHER USED MY VAN TO TRANSPORT MY THREE CHILDREN. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PULL OUR INTO TRAFFIC SHE WAS UNABLE TO KEEP THE VEHICLE IN HER LANE. FORTUNATELY THE OTHER DRIVER WAS ABLE TO AVOID HER. I UNDERSTAND THAT VEHICLE COMPONENTS ARE NOT DESIGNED TO LAST FOREVER AND I DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH REPAIRS. HOWEVER, THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE FROM THE MANUFACTURER WHICH THEY ARE VERY RELUCTANT TO CORRECT. DATE & MILEAGE ARE APPROXIMATE. *TR
ON 04/18/14 I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO TAMERON HONDA BECAUSE IT WAS MISFIRING. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD COME ON THEN THE ENGINE WOULD BEGIN JERKING AND NOT RESPONDING. I PAID $5940.01 BECAUSE THEY SAID THE ENGINE NEEDED REBUILDING. THIS IS A LOT OF MONEY BUT I DID NOT HAVE A CHOICE IN THAT THEY TOLD ME I WOULD NOT GET ANYTHING ON A TRADE IN AND I REALLY COULDN'T AFFORD ANOTHER CAR. I PICKED UP THE CAR AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE COMPLETE AND THE NEXT DAY I WAS AT A STOP TRYING TO MERGE ACROSS A 4 LANE ROAD. THE ENGINE STARTED MISFIRING AGAIN AND I COULDN'T GET ABOVE ABOUT 10 MPH. NO ONE HIT ME BUT IT COULD HAVE VERY EASILY BEEN A BAD ACCIDENT. I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE BACK TO TAMERON 4 MORE TIMES WITH THE SAME SCENARIO. TWICE I HAVE BEEN ON THE INTERSTATE AND LOST POWER TO ABOUT 10 MPH. AGAIN I MANAGED TO PULL TO THE SIDE WITHOUT GETTING HIT. JUST A LOT OF HORN BLOWING. THE DEALERSHIP REALLY DIDN'T HAVE AN EXPLANATION. THE LAST TIME I TALKED TO THE SERVICE MANAGER WHO ASSURED ME THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED AND IT WAS PROBABLY DUE TO MY "FUEL". THEY CONTINUED TO LET ME DRIVE THE VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH I WAS TELLING THEM WHAT WAS HAPPENING. A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE WITH MY GRANDSON IN THE CAR. THE ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF LIKE A SWITCH HAD BEEN PULLED. I HIT MY HAZARD LIGHT BUTTON AND MANAGED TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I HAD TO CALL A TOW TRUCK.THE EXPLANATION GIVEN WAS THE FUEL TANK INDICATOR HAD BROKEN AND I WAS OUT OF GAS. THEY REPLACED THE INDICATOR AND ALSO REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP WHICH WAS RECALLED. THEY DIDN'T MENTION THE RECALL. I KNOW MY VEHICLE HAS 133,000 MILES BUT THIS DOESN'T SEEM RIGHT. I AM SUPPOSE TO HAVE A REBUILT ENGINE AND I AM JUST WAITING FOR THE NEXT INCIDENT. NEXT TIME THERE MAY BE A CRASH. *TR
WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY ABOUT 20 MILES FROM HOME. I GOT UP TO ABOUT 45 MILES, THE VEHICLE BRAKES ON ITS OWN SLOWING DOWN THE VEHICLE. IT LASTED ABOUT TWO SECONDS AND IT HAPPENED 4 TIMES ON THE WAY HOME IN A 5 MINUTE TIME PERIOD.. THEN THE REST OF THE WAY HOME EVERYTHING WAS OK AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT BRAKE ON ITS OWN. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, A REPAIR WAS SCHEDULED AND THEY INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT YEARS LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED WITH THE VSA WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURERS RECALL REMEDY DID NOT PREVENT THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: PE13024 (ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT FELT THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME TO PERFORM THE RECALL REPAIRS. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCE A FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING PUMP AND THE RESERVOIR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000.

STEERING WHEEL IS HARD TO TURN AT LOW SPEEDS, WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS, IT IS HARD. ESPECIALLY WHILE DRIVING IN OR EXITING FROM A PARKING LOT SPOT. THERE IS NOT ENOUGH ASSIST FROM THE POWER STEERING PUMP. *TR
OWNS A 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT PANEL WARNING INDICATORS REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO SLIP GEARS WITH SLIGHT HESITATION & STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE LANE WITH NO POWER (NO LIGHTS, NO BEEPS NOTHING NEW BETTER WAS INSTALLED ON 11/13). AFTER 30 MIN. JUMP STARTED & ON THE WAY HOME THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THIS PROBLEM ON 4/1/14 AT 12AM EST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000. ALSO THE WARNING FOR THIS PROBLEM IS THE SECURITY SYSTEM GOING OF RANDOMLY FOR NO REASON (LIKE DOORS LOCKING OR CLOSING HORN GOING OFF). *TR
I WAS DRIVING SLOWLY (<10 MPH) AND ENTERED INTO A ROTARY WITHIN A MALL COMPLEX. I NOTICED THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME STOPPED TO YIELD ANOTHER CAR ENTERING THE ROTARY. I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND MY VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN. AS I PUT MORE PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE TO STOP THE CAR AS IT'S GETTING CLOSER THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME, MY VEHICLE STARTED ACCELERATE SUDDENLY. I QUICKLY MOVED MY FOOT FURTHER LEFT TO MAKE SURE IT WAS COMPLETELY ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND STEPPED HARDER, THE ENGINE RAN EVEN FASTER AND IT HIT THE CAR IN THE FRONT AND STOPPED. I LOOKED AT THE AREA OF THE BRAKE AND GAS PEDALS AND EVERYTHING WAS CLEAR AND SEPARATE. FORTUNATELY THE SPEED OF THE CAR WAS SLOW, NO ONE GOT INJURED. THE FRONT BUMPER OF MY CAR AND THE REAR BUMPER OF THE OTHER CAR DENTED. *TR
I OPENED MY REAR HATCH DOOR USING THE REMOTE, IT OPENED WITH THE NORMAL SHORT BEEPS BUT CLOSED VERY FAST WITH A CONTINUES ALARM . I OPENED THE HATCH MANUALLY AND IT SLAMMED SHUT, WON'T STAY OPEN. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHUDDER AND VIBRATE VIOLENTLY ACCOMPANIED BY THE ILLUMINATION OF THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT. THE CONTACT SHUT THE ENGINE OFF AND WHEN RESTARTED, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT LATER NOTICED A REDUCTION IN POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHO STATED THAT, THE TIMING BELT AND MOTOR MOUNTS WOULD NEED REPLACING. ADDITIONALLY, THE DEALER SUGGESTED HAVING A TUNE-UP PERFORMED, AS THERE WERE SEVERAL MISFIRE CODES GENERATED WHEN DIAGNOSED. THE DEALER CONTINUED TO DIAGNOSIS THE FAILURE AS THE CYLINDER ONE COIL HAVING MELTED INTO THE CYLINDER. AS A RESULT, THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO REMOVE THE COIL AND SPARK PLUG FROM THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY THE SPARK PLUG BECOMING LOOSE AND FUEL LEAKING INTO THE CYLINDER HEAD CHAMBER. THE MANUFACTURE WAS ALERTED OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO RESOLUTION. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED OF THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED WITH THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000.
VERY HARD TO STEER. IT SUDDENLY STOPPED SMOOTH OPERATION AND REMAINED HARD SINCE MAR 10TH, 2014. LOOKS LIKE THE POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING. FEEL LIKE DRIVING A BIG TRUCK AND APPLY A LOT OF POWER TO STEER. IT BECOMES TOUGH WHEN THE VEHICLE COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP. WHEN MOVING IT IS LITTLE OKAY TO MANEUVER (STILL HARD BUT MANAGEABLE). I WOULD LIKE HONDA TO RECALL FOR A MANUFACTURER DEFECT AND FIX THE ISSUE. *TR
LOSS OF POWER STEERING & DIFFICULTY TURNING STEERING WHEEL. PAINT ON TOP OF THE ROOF HAS BEGUN TO FADE. HAD TO REPLACE OIL PAN BECAUSE OF LUG NUT DAMAGE TO PAN. ACCORDING TO THE MECHANIC DAMAGED WAS CAUSED TO THE OIL PAN DUE TO THE QUALITY OF METAL WITHIN THE LUG NUT THAT IS OF HARSHER MATERIAL THAN THE OIL PAN. THEREFORE, IT CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE OIL PAN THAT REQUIRED US TO HAVE AN IMMEDIATE OIL PAN REPLACEMENT DURING A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,000.
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM IDLE, AT TIMES, THE ENGINE IS SLUGGISH AND DOESN'T SEEM TO RESPOND IMMEDIATELY. THE ENGINE REVS SLIGHTLY AND THEN AS IT SEEMS TO ENGAGE, IT JERKS FORWARD. *TR
TL- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH THE BRAKES BECAME INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS MANEUVERED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IN ORDER FOR THE CONTACT TO INSPECT THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN HOME WITHOUT THE FAILURE RECURRING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. RK
1) MILEAGE: 73,649. 10/26/11. HONDA REPLACED P/S AS IT WAS LEAKING. 2)10/10/13: REPLACED P/S PRESSURE HOSE AS IT WAS LEAKING.3) MILEAGE: 113,903. 2/22/14. ANOTHER LEAK WITH THE P/S. WAS ADVISED THAT IT COULD BE SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS A SEAL OR IT COULD BE THE P/S ITSELF. WILL FIND OUT AFTER DRIVING THE CAR AROUND. DOESN'T MAKE SENSE THAT THE P/S PUMP SHOULD FAIL AGAIN AFTER 40,254 MILES. WAS TOLD THAT HONDA WILL PROBABLY NOT COVER THE COST AFTER THAT MANY MILES. NOT HAPPY AS I HAVE HAD SEVERAL ISSUES WITH THE VAN. FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS WERE REPLACED AT 34,000+ MILES. P/S RACK & PINION WAS FOUND LEAKING AT 34,094 MILES. LEFT PASSENGER DOOR FAILED AUTO OPEN. HONDA FIXED THAT AND NOW THAT WARRANTY IS OVER, IT'S STARTING TO HAPPEN AGAIN.
TODAY WHILE SLOWLY PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE, MY 2007 ODYSSEY SUDDENLY ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. I HAD JUST TAKEN MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND LET THE CAR COAST FORWARD A LITTLE BEFORE I PARKED IT WHEN IT LURCHED FORWARD. I WAS ABLE TO HIT THE BRAKES HARD AND STOP IT QUICKLY BEFORE ANY DAMAGE WAS DONE, BUT I WAS VERY SHAKEN UP AND AFRAID TO DRIVE HOME. I CALLED THE DEALER AND WILL HAVE THE CAR TOWED FOR EXAMINATION. *TR

ON DECEMBER 18, 2013, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK THE VAN TO AN EXPRESS OIL CHANGE COMPANY THE SAME DAY FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND ASKED THEM TO READ THE CODES. THE CODES WERE RANDOM MULTIPLE CYLINDER MISFIRES AND THEY ADVISED ME THAT I MIGHT NEED TO HAVE SPARK PLUGS CHANGED AT NEXT OIL CHANGE, BUT IT SHOULD BE FINE TO DRIVE. THE MILEAGE ON THE VAN ON THAT DATE WAS 94,482 MILES. ON FEBRUARY 7TH, WHILE DRIVING TO WORK, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING AND THE VAN STARTED TO DRIVE VERY SLUGGISH. I CALLED THE MECHANIC I USE FOR REPAIRS AND THEY ADVISED ME NOT TO DRIVE IT OTHER THAN TO BRING THE VAN IN. UPON READING THE DIAGNOSTIC CODES, THEY STATED THAT THE SPARK PLUGS AND COIL PACKS NEEDED TO BE CHANGED. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO REMOVE THE OLD SPARK PLUGS AND COIL PACKS, THE COIL PACK AND SPARK PLUG IN CYLINDER 5 HAD COMPLETELY MELTED AND FUSED TO THE WALLS OF THE CYLINDER. MY MECHANIC DID SOME ONLINE RESEARCH AND SPOKE WITH A HONDA TECHNICIAN AND DETERMINED THAT THE ISSUE WAS DUE TO A FAULTY VCM AND THAT ONLY REPLACING THE HEAD WOULD NOT ELIMINATE THE PROBLEM. THE HONDA TECH ADVISED TO REPLACE THE ENGINE. THESE ARE THE EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS AS THE CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT WITH 2008 HONDA ODYSSEY ENGINES. *TR

THE LARGE BOLT THAT GOES THROUGH THE BELT TENSIONER ROLLER INTO THE BRACKET ATTACHED TO THE MOTOR HAS SHEARED OFF TWICE IN THE LAST 3 MONTHS AFTER DRIVING LESS THAN 5000 MILES. THIS HAS HAPPENED ONCE WHEN DRIVING AT 50+ MPH AND MOST RECENTLY WHEN DRIVING 25MPH. THE FIRST INCIDENT OCCURRED AFTER A HONDA DEALER REPLACED THE TIMING BELT, T-BELT TENSIONER AND SERPENTINE BELT. I'M UNSURE IF THEY REPLACED THE BOLT IN QUESTION AT THAT TIME. HOWEVER, WITHIN 500 MILES OF DRIVING THE BOLT SHEARED OFF. THEN A DIFFERENT HONDA DEALER REPLACED THE BROKEN BOLT, TENSIONER ROLLER AND SERPENTINE BELT ALL OF WHICH WERE DAMAGED WHEN THE BOLT FAILED. ONCE AGAIN AFTER DRIVING LESS THAN 5000 MILES THE SAME BOLT HAS BROKEN. THIS IS A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION AS WELL AS BEING COSTLY. THE DEALER IS CLAIMING NO FAULT, YET THESE ARE PARTS THAT HONDA DEALERS ARE INSTALLING IN THEIR OWN SHOPS.
