PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WON'T SHUT ON MY 2014 HONDA ODYSSEY VAN. I PARKED THE VAN IN A PARKING GARAGE AND WE SHUT ALL THE DOORS THE PASSENGER WOULD ONLY SHUT HALF WAY AND THEN RE-OPEN. AFTER ABOUT AN HOUR OF TRYING TO SEE IF ANYTHING WAS STUCK I CALLED AAA AND BECAUSE I COULD NOT LEAVE MY CHILDREN ALONE WHILE I DRIVE THE VAN OUT OF THE GARAGE AND BECAUSE I COULD NOT DRIVE WITH THEM IN THE VAN WITH THE DOOR OPEN WE HAD TO WAIT 3 HOURS FOR A TRUCK THAT WOULD FIT IN A GARAGE. AAA FINALLY CAME AND SAID THEY COULD NOT TOW THE VAN BECAUSE THE DOOR MUST BE SHUT FOR LIABILITY AND SAFETY REASONS. SO I AM STUCK IN A GARAGE WITH 4 KIDS AND NO ONE CAN HELP ME. AT THIS TIME MY FIANC SHOWED UP (WE WERE OUT OF TOWN ABOUT AN HOUR AWAY FROM HOME) AND AAA AND HE DECIDED TO CUT THE CABLE THAT IS ATTACHED TO THE DOOR AND THE DOOR SHUT.. BUT THE DOOR IS BROKEN. I CALLED HONDA OWNER AND MADE A COMPLAINT BUT FROM MY UNDERSTANDING IT'S JUST NOTED NO ACTION IS TAKEN IN THE MEAN WHILE MY ALMOST $30,000 VAN HAS A BROKEN DOOR THEY CAN IS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD. I CALLED MY LOCAL HONDA (THEY WERE NOT VERY NICE) IT SEEMS ALL ABOUT THE$$ AND NOT THE SAFETY OF THEIR HONDA OWNERS. THEY SAID THEY WILL LOOK AT MY CAR FOR A FEE OF$140.. I LOOKED UP PARTS ONLINE AND $400 + SO THAT PLUS WHAT EVER THEY CHARGE ME TO FIX PROBABLY $1000 FOR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NOT BE BROKEN IN THE FIRST PLACE. PEOPLE WHO USUALLY GET VANS ARE PEOPLE THAT HAVE MULTIPLY CHILDREN. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO ADDRESSED ASAP IT'S CHILD INDANGERMENT TO HAVE A OPEN DOOR WHILE YOUR DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. AND WHAT IF I HAD TO LEAVE IT THERE BECAUSE I HAD NO ONE THEN IT WOULD NOT BE SECURE IT WOULD BE WIDE OPEN.PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS ASAP THIS NOT SOMETHING ANY PARENT SHOULD HAVE TO GO THROUGH. THUS SITUATION MADE ME FEEL HELPLESS MY KIDS WERE TIRED, HUNGRY AND HAD TO USE THE BATHROOM AND I WAS HELPLESS. I COULDN'T DO ANYTHING.
WHEN DRIVING OVER 100 MILES THE FRONT BRAKE ROTORS WARP CAUSING A SAFETY PROBLEM HONDA KNOWS THIS AS THEY HAVE A NEW ROTOR THAT IS VENTED (SEE BULLETIN A14-00080) THAT FITS FROM 2011 TO 2014 ODYSSEY I THINK THEY SHOULD BE RECALLED AS IT IS A DANGEROUS THING BRAKES ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT THING ON THE CAR
THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOES NOT CLOSE PROPERLY. IT CONSTANTLY RE-OPENS AFTER PRESSING THE CLOSE BUTTON OR USING THE HANDLE AND MUST BE FORCED CLOSED MANUALLY FROM THE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. IT HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE WITH TIME. WE TRY TO NOT USE THAT DOOR WHICH IS A SAFETY CONCERN AS THAT IS THE DOOR CLOSEST TO ME FOR MY CHILDREN TO USE. AND THE OTHER DAY WHEN MY DAUGHTER ACCIDENTALLY FORGOT AND USED THAT DOOR, I SHUT IT AND WE WENT ON TO OUR ERRANDS, WHEN WE RETURNED TO THE VAN THE DOOR WAS WIDE OPEN, OBVIOUSLY IT AUTOMATICALLY OPENED AS WE LEFT. IT IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE CONTACTED HONDA CORPORATE AND THEY HAVE REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING AS IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. AT 4 YEARS OLD THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. MY LAST HONDA ODDESSEY WAS A 2009, IT DID THE SAME THING, AAA HAD TO COME ONE DAY WHILE I WAS STUCK AT THE GYM AND COULD NOT GET IT TO CLOSE. THEY HAD TO CUT THE WIRES ON THE DOOR TO CLOSE IT. NOW THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE, I HAVE DONE A LITTLE RESEARCH ONLINE AND SEEN THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE HANDLED BY A RECALL.
MY DAUGHTER WAS TRAPPED IN THE SEATBELT. WE PARKED THE CAR IN OUR GARAGE AND WHEN SHE SAT UP TO RELEASE HER BELT, THE BELT BECAME TANGLED AROUND HER WAIST. WE TRIED FOR 30 MINUTES TO RELEASE TO SEATBELT BUT ONCE IT RETRACTED THERE WAS NO WAY TO RELEASE IT. FINALLY WE HAD TO CUT THE BELT TO FREE HER. SHE WAS SITTING IN THE THIRD ROW ON THE DRIVERS SIDE.

TRANSMISSION BUCKING AT LOW SPEED AFTER DRIVING A WHILE. WHEN I DRIVE MY VAN OFF THE DRIVE WAY, EVERYTHING BEHAVES NORMALLY. THE ISSUE HAPPENS WHEN IT WAS DRIVEN FOR 30 MINUTES OR SO. AFTER ON THE FREEWAY FOR 30 MINUTES OR LONGER WHILE STOPPING AT THE OFF RAMP WAITING FOR THE GREEN LIGHT, THE VANS HAS PROBLEM TRYING TO SHIFT BETWEEN SPEED OF 20-40MPH. THE VANS BODY SHAKES VIOLENTLY AS IF IT WAS DRIVING ON A ROAD WITH MULTIPLE LOW SPEED BUMPS. THE TRANSMISSION HAS DIFFICULTY HUNTING FOR THE CORRECT GEAR. I CAN SEE THE RPM MOVING UP AND DOWN CRAZILY AS IF IT ENGAGES A LOWER GEAR AND IMMEDIATELY DECIDES TO SWITCH TO HIGHER GEAR MULTIPLE TIMES. THE PROBLEM IS MOST PROMINENT WHEN THE VEHICLE IS AT COMPLETE STOPS AND TRYING TO SPEED UP ON THE INCLINE STREET. WHEN IT IS ON HIGH SPEED, SUCH AS 50 MPH AND ABOVE, IT DRIVES SMOOTHLY. I THINK THE VEHICLE IS TRYING TO COMPENSATE BETWEEN BEST GEAR RATIO AND BEST FUEL ECONOMY GEAR AT THE GIVEN SPEED. A THE SPEED WHERE CONSTANT SPEED IS NOT ACHIEVED SUCH AS HILL CLIMBING OR ACCELERATING FROM STOP AT THE OFF RAMP TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE COMPUTER CONFUSED.
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOPPED POSITION, THE CAR DID NOT ACCELERATE AND AT APPROXIMATELY 20-30 THE CAR VIOLENTLY BUCKED/JUMPED. THIS HAPPENED EVER TIME I TRIED TO ACCELERATE ONTO AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY, AFTER SLOWING DOWN ON A CITY STREET, OR IN MY NEIGHBORHOODT TO MAKE A TURN OR FOR A RED LIGHT. SO, IT HAPPENED ACTUALLY ANYTIME THE SPEED DROPPED BELOW APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH.
OUR HONDA ODYSSEY WAS SUBJECT TO THE RECENT RECALL RELATING TO THE MOVEMENT OF THE SECOND ROW SEATS. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR REPAIR AT THE NEARBY HONDA DEALERSHIP, AND IT WAS ALLEGEDLY FIXED. HOWEVER, SEVERAL DAYS THEREAFTER, WHILE I WAS DRIVING WITH MY TODDLER (IN A CAR SEAT ATTACHED TO THE PASSENGER SIDE SECOND ROW SEAT) AT APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH ON LOCAL STREETS, I BRAKED GENTLY TO MERGE INTO A LANE THAT WOULD TURN TOWARD THE HIGHWAY WHEN I HEARD MY CHILD CRYING IN SUDDEN DISTRESS. THE SEAT THAT SHE WAS IN HAD FLIPPED FORWARD INTO THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, AND HER HEAD AND BODY WAS PRESSED INTO THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. I IMMEDIATELY PUT THE CAR INTO PARK AND WENT TO SET THE SEAT BACK DOWN AND CHECK ON AND COMFORT MY CHILD. THERE WERE SOME INJURIES, AND WE SOUGHT MEDICAL ATTENTION. AFTER THE INCIDENT, I CHECKED THE SEAT THAT HAD FLIPPED FORWARD, AND IT WAS STILL NOT LOCKED INTO PLACE, DESPITE ME HAVING SET THE SEAT DOWN AFTER THE INCIDENT. I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE CLEAR THAT NO INDIVIDUAL HAS MOVED THIS SEAT SINCE WE RETRIEVED THE CAR AFTER ITS REPAIR FROM THE RECALL. THIS INCIDENT IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE, AS THIS INDICATES THAT THE REPAIR RELATING TO THE RECALL WAS NOT PROPERLY DONE OR ELSE THERE ARE ADDITIONAL MECHANICAL ISSUES INVOLVED. I ATTACHED A PICTURE OF HOW THE CAR SEAT WAS POSITIONED (WITH MY CHILD IN IT!). WE ALSO CALLED THE HONDA DEALERSHIP TO BRING THE CAR BACK IN FOR EVALUATION, AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHETHER THIS INCIDENT WAS DUE TO THEIR HUMAN ERROR OR A MECHANICAL ISSUE.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO WILLIAMSBURG HONDA (7101 RICHMOND RD, WILLIAMSBURG, VA 23188, (757) 564-4671) WHERE IT WAS TEST DRIVEN AND THE FAILURE WAS DUPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DETERMINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FLUID NEEDED TO BE FLUSHED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN ACCELERATING BETWEEN 15-20 MPH, THE VEHICLE JERKED WITHOUT WARNING. WHILE DRIVING OVER 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE DROVE NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.
THE BRAKE ROTORS ARE FAULTY AND BECOME EASILY WARPED, CAUSING SEVERE SHAKING WHEN BRAKING, ESPECIALLY AT HIGHER SPEEDS BUT GENERALLY OVERALL. THE HONDA DEALER ADMITS THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM BUT WILL NOT COVER THE ISSUE UNDER WARRANTY. OUR VAN HAS LESS THAN 50,000 MILES, AND THE ISSUE WAS FIRST NOTICED AROUND 20,000 MILES. WE'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER TWICE, AND THEY OFFERED TO "RESURFACE" THE ROTORS FOR $170 OR REPLACE WITH "UPDATED ROTORS" FOR $562 BUT DECLINED TO COVER UNDER WARRANTY (WE EVEN PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY). I EMAILED THE DEALER WITH MY CONCERNS, AND I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD BE FORWARDED TO MANAGEMENT. I CALLED HONDA AS WELL TO REGISTER A COMPLAINT, AND THE HONDA REPRESENTATIVE SAID SHE WOULD FORWARD OUR CONCERNS TO ENGINEERING.
THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES UP AND ENGINE IS BURING OIL. DEALERSHIP CHECKED AFTER 500 MILES AND SAID IT IS BURNING OIL. TOLD ME TO KEEP CHECKING OIL LEVEL AND IF LOW TOP IT OFF TILL THE NEXT LIGHT COMES UP SO THAT THEY CAN GET DIAGNOSTOC CODE. DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. THIS IS A NEW VAN AND PURCHASED NEW AND 2 YEARS BACK AND NOW HAS ONLY 31000 MILES.
CLANKING AND JERKING WILL NOT ACCELERATE ALSO WAS HIT IN DC TRAFFIC AND IT COULD NOT KEEP UP. TOOK IT IN A WITH VIDEO AND HONDA ACTED AS IF THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON.
CAR HAS 53,000 MILES ON AND WHILE DRIVING IN SPEEDS ABOVE 30 MPH THE STEERING WHEEL VIOLENTLY SHAKES AND IS WORSENS WITH INCREASED SPEEDS. THIS SHAKES MY ENTIRE BODY, STEERING COLUMN AND MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO CONTROL THE WHEEL. I HAD ALREADY REPLACED BOTH FRONT AND BACK PADS AND HAD ROTORS TURNED AROUND 23K. ALL WORK DONE AT HONDA DEALERSHIP
WHILE TRAVELING HOME FROM A FAMILY TRIP TO OUR LOCAL MOUNTAINS, THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO VIOLENTLY SHUTTER WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES. THE ELEVATION CHANGE FROM BIG BEAR, CALIFORNIA TO THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL IN HIGHLAND, CALIFORNIA IS APPROXIMATELY 5400 FEET. I WAS NOT "RIDING" THE BRAKES NOR WAS I SPEEDING. I ONLY APPLIED THEM TO APPROPRIATELY SLOW THE VEHICLE IN CURVES. I WAS CONCERNED ENOUGH THAT I WAS NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO AFFECTIVELY SLOW THE VEHICLE, OR CONTROL THE VEHICLE, THAT I PULLED OVER AND INSPECTED ALL FOUR BRAKE ROTORS AND SAW NOTHING VISUALLY. WHEN RESUMING DOWN THE HILL, THE SHUTTERING WAS MUCH BETTER FOR A COUPLE OF CURVES AND THEN CONTINUED AGAIN. I WAS ABLE TO NURSE THE VEHICLE DOWN THE HILL, UNTIL THEY WERE MORE STRAIGHTAWAYS AND I NEEDED THE BRAKES LESS. THE SHUTTERING DIMINISHED UPON LESS USE/COOLING. UPON RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE, I FOUND THAT OVERHEATING OF THE BRAKE ROTORS IS EXTREMELY COMMON ON MY HONDA VEHICLE. I ALSO LEARNED THAT HONDA IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE, SO MUCH SO THAT THEY HAVE REDESIGNED THE REPLACEMENT ROTORS FOR MY VEHICLE. THE REDESIGN INCLUDES ROTOR VENTS TO HELP KEEP THE ROTORS COOL. I FEEL THE DESIGN FLAW OF THE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT ROTORS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY HONDA THROUGH A RECALL.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY SERVICED PER AN UNKNOWN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER RELATED TO THE SEATS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,000.

I CANNOT LEAVE ANYTHING INSIDE THE VEHICLE, BECAUSE ANYONE CAN JUST GET IN. YESTERDAY, 20 MARCH 2017, AFTER I PARK MY VEHICLE I WAS TRYING TO GET OUT AND I COULD NOT, BECAUSE I COULD NOT UNLOCK THE DRIVER'S DOOR. A VERY SCARY FEELING. I HAD TO JUMP TO THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE AND GOT OUT OPENING THE BACK DOOR. THE REMOTE/SWITCH SOMETIMES WILL LOCK AND UNLOCK ALL THE DOORS, AND THE HATCH, BUT WILL NOT THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. THE OTHER DOORS AFTER I START THE CAR AND START DRIVING WOULD NOT LOCK AUTOMATIC LIKE IT SHOULD.

MY HONDA ODYSSEY HAS BEEN HESITATING DURING ACCELERATION, WE ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED DUE TO THIS ISSUE. I THINK THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED.
NHTSA RECALL 16V-933 AND POSSIBLY DANGEROUS WINDSHIELD FRAME. I CALLED AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO. REGARDING NHRSA RECALL 16V-933 AND WINDSHIELD APPARENTLY COMING APART FROM ITS FRAME. AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO. REFUSED TO DISCUSS THESE ISSUES WITH ME; REFERRED ME, INSTEAD TO A LOCAL DEALER. I CALLED THE LOCAL HONDA EAST DEALERSHIP, 702-369-3099, ONLY TO BE TOLD THE ALL TECHNICIANS WERE TOO BUSY WITH MORE IMPORTANT MATTERS, BUT THAT I COULD LEAVE MY PHONE NUMBER AND ONE WILL CALL ME WHEN ONE BECOMES FREE. HONDA ODYSSEY 2014 AT LESS THEN 20,000 MILES I GOT GOT A VIOLENT SHAKE WHEN BREAKING TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND ALL THEY DID WAS RESURFACE THE ROTORS. NOW AT 33,000 THEY ARE DOING THE SAME THING. CALLED HONDA AND THEY SAID THAT IS NORMAL BRAKE WEAR. AFTER DRIVING FOR 40 YRS HOW OR WHAT TYPE OF MATERIAL IS HONDA USING FOR THEIR ROTORS NEVER HAPPENED ON ANY PAST CAR WITH SUCH LOW MILEAGE. THIS IS A MAJOR ACCIDENT GOING TO HAPPEN. COMING DOWN A MOUNTAIN ROAD IS DANGEROUS LOOK INTO THIS.

PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR WILL NOT OPEN UNDER ANY CONDITION. THE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN MANUALLY OR VIA THE POWER DOOR FEATURE. THIS LIMITS THE EGRESS FROM THE VEHICLE.
WHEN PULLING OUT AFTER A STOP SIGN OR TURNING RIGHT AFTER A FULL STOP THE TRANSMISSION WILL VIOLENTLY JERK THE CAR FORWARD. HONDA RECOMMENDED FLUSHING THE TRANSMISSION TWO TIMES TO FIX "MANUFACTURER DEFECT" AND IT DID NOT WORK, ACTUALLY IS NOW WORSE THAN BEFORE THE FLUSHING, WE PAID $297 AND NOT FIXED. SEE ATTACHED RECEIPTS.
CONTACTED "DAVE" AT HONDA TO INQUIRE WHETHER HONDA IS PREPARED TO DEAL WITH THE 2ND SEAT RECALL. THIS "CHAT" SESSION WITH "DAVE" IS A TOTAL FRAUD. TRY IT. DAVE DOES NOT EXIST. THE ONLY NOTICE I HAVE RECEIVED FROM HONDA REGARDING THIS RECALL STATED THAT HONDA DID NOT HAVE THE NECESSARY PARTS. HONDA WEBSITE STATES THAT I MUST BRING MY VEHICLE IN IMMEDIATELY BECAUSE MY LIFE IS AT STAKE. YET HONDA CANNOT TELL ME THAT IT CAN FIX THE PROBLEM. ALSO, I NOTICED TODAY THAT THE BOTTOM WINDSHIELD SEAL OR SUPPORT THAT HOLDS THE WINDSHIELD IN PLACE HAS BUCKLED IN NUMEROUS PLACES AND IS ABOUT TO COME OFF ENTIRELY. THIS WOULD PERMIT WATER TO ENTER THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND CREATE A DRIVING HAZARD. IT MIGHT ALSO PERMIT THE WINDSHIELD TO COME LOOSE. I SUSPECT THAT THIS IS NOT JUST MY VEHICLE, BUT IS LIKELY A PROBLEM WITH ALL OF THE HONDA LINEUP. I DON'T KNOW WHEN THIS HAPPENED, SO I CANNOT ANSWER THAT QUESTION.
MOON ROOF GLASS EXPLODED WHILE ON SMOOTHLY PAVED HIGHWAY. NO APPARENT CAUSE. NO OTHER VEHICLES WERE NEARBY TO THROW A ROCK. EXPLOSION WAS LOUD. SHATTERED GLASS FELL ON DRIVER AND PASSENGER - AT 70 MPH [SPEED LIMIT].
THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES WHEN BRAKING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THIS STARTED AT ABOUT 30,000 MILES. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER, AND THEY IMMEDIATELY SAID I NEEDED THE BRAKES RESURFACED BEFORE THEY EVEN DROVE THE CAR. THIS TELLS ME THEY ARE AWARE OF A RECURRING ISSUE. AT THIS POINT IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AT 38,000 MILES BECAUSE I HAD ALREADY PURCHASED BRAND NEW TIRES THINKING THAT WAS THE PROBLEM. I HAD THEM ALIGN THE TIRES THAT DAY, AND THE SHAKING DID NOT GO AWAY. HONDA NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND RECALL FAULTY BRAKES. THEY SHOULD NOT NEED COSTLY REPAIRS AT THIS LOW MILEAGE.
I STOPPED THE VEHICLE ON AN INCLINED STREET TO TALK WITH A NEIGHBOR. HE ASKED ME TO LOOK AT SOMETHING SO, I TURNED THE IGNITION OFF NOT THINKING THE GEARSHIFT WAS STILL IN THE DRIVE POSITION. AFTER THE ENGINE STOPPED I STARTED TO EXIT THE CAR WHEN IT BEGAN TO ROLL. I APPLIED THE BRAKES THEN RESTARTED THE CAR AND SHIFTED INTO PARK. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE REQUIRING A RECALL BEFORE SOMEBODY GETS INJURED OR KILLED.
TRANSMISSION EXHIBITS JERKY SHIFTING UNDER LOW SPEED, LIGHT ACCELERATION CONDITIONS. GENERALLY WHEN GOING FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR. TOLD DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY BEFORE CAR LEFT THE LOT AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD FIX IT. CALLED ME TWO DAYS LATER SAYING IT WAS DONE, BUT CAR CONTINUES TO DO SO. SERVICE DEPARTMENTS ARE A WASTE!
WHEN I TRY AND ACCELERATE FROM A SLOW OR STOPPED POSITION MY VEHICLE STUTTERS OR HESITATES BEFORE SPEEDING UP. IT'S BEEN DOING THIS NOW FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. I NOTICED IT AFTER MY FILTER WAS CHANGED ON OCT 26,, 2016 AT THE DEALERSHIP. WHEN MY SONS RAISED THE HOOD THEY FOUND THE TOP WAS NOT CLOSED DOWN AND LOCKED ON THE FILTER. A LOT OF TRASH HAD GOTTEN IN THERE. THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE. I'VE MENTIONED IT TO DEXTER ALEXANDER AND HE HAD THE SERVICE GUYS BLOW IT OUT BUT IT HASN'T HELPED. THIS IS A $38,000 VEHICLE THAT I'M PAYING ON EVERY MONTH. THIS SHOULD' BE HAPPENING. THIS IS MY SECOND ODYSSEY. NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY FIRST ONE. THE SECOND ROW SEATS BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE DOES NOT LATCH PROPERLY. THIS USUALLY OCCURS WHEN ACCESSING THE 3RD ROW SEATS USING THE SLIDE HANDLE. UNDER NORMAL OPERATION, RETURNING THE 2ND ROW SEATS TO THE UPRIGHT POSITION SECURES THE SLIDER MECHANISM OF THE SEATS AND PREVENTS THE 2ND ROW SEAT FROM MOVING. HOWEVER, THE LOCKING MECHANISM DOES NOT WORK AND YOU WILL NOT KNOW THAT THE SEAT IS NOT SECURE. POSSIBLE INJURY MAY OCCUR TO THE 3RD ROW OCCUPANTS IF THE 2ND ROW SEAT MOVES WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. 2ND ROW SEAT OCCUPANTS ALSO MAY BE INJURED IN THIS SITUATION WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. DEALER REPLACED LOCKING MECHANISM OF THE PASSENGER-SIDE 2ND ROW SEATS BUT DRIVER SIDE SEAT NOW DISPLAYS THIS SYMPTOM.
THE SECOND ROW SEATS BOTH THE LEFT AND THE RIGHT SIDE DO NOT LOCK INTO PLACE WHEN YOU MOVE THE SEAT. YOU WOULD HAVE TO MANUALLY TOUCH THE BLACK BAR ON THE BOTTOM TO LOCK THE SEAT. MY CHILDREN SEVERAL TIMES HAVE HAD THE SEAT MOVE AND ALMOST CHOKE THEM WHEN WE COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. I HAVE COMPLAIN SEVERAL TIMES TO MY DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE TOLD ME THAT IT WAS A DEFECTIVE SPRING, HOWEVER WARRANTY WILL NOT CHANGE IT SINCE IT IS NOT BROKEN. THAT IS WEIRD SINCE IT IS NOT WORKING AS IT HAS BEEN INTENDED.
LIKE SO MANY OTHER ODYSSEYS, THE BRAKES VIBRATE AND SHAKE THE STEERING WHEEL UNDER HEAVY BRAKING SUCH AS STOPPING AT THE BOTTOM OF A HILL. HONDA HAS COME UP WITH NEW PART #, BUT THEY SAY NOT COVERED ON OUR VEHICLE. SHOULD NOT HAVE TO REPLACE ROTORS & PADS AT 22000 MILES.
AT 20,000 MILES, BRAKING FROM FREEWAY SPEEDS STARTED TO CAUSE SHUDDERING AND JERKING OF THE STEERING WHEEL. WE WERE ABLE TO LIVE WITH IT FOR A LITTLE WHILE, BUT FINALLY TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AT 27,960 MILES, AND WERE TOLD THE BRAKE ROTORS WERE WARPED. THE DEALER RESURFACED THE ROTORS WITHOUT OUR AUTHORIZATION AND SAID THEY WILL NOT REPLACE THEM, EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE CLEARLY DEFECTIVE (THEY SHOW CLEAR SIGNS OF HEAT DAMAGE). THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE, AND HONDA HAS ALREADY DISCONTINUED THE OLD ROTOR, AND A NEW ROTOR IS AVAILABLE, PART # 45251-TK8-A02. YET, HONDA REFUSES TO REPLACE OUR DEFECTIVE ROTORS, MAKING OUR VEHICLE DANGEROUS AND UNSAFE TO DRIVE. REFINISHING THE ROTORS WILL ONLY TEMPORARILY FIX THE PROBLEM, BUT THEY WILL QUICKLY OVERHEAT AGAIN, AND HONDA OBVIOUSLY JUST HOPES THIS HAPPENS AFTER OUR WARRANTY EXPIRES. THIS IS A RELATIVELY NEW VEHICLE (2 YEARS), AND STILL UNDER WARRANTY. WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THE MANUFACTURER REFUSING TO HONOR THEIR WARRANTY, AND THE SAFETY OF OUR BRAKING SYSTEM DUE TO DEFECTIVE PARTS.
THE PAINT STARTED PEELING OFF IN THE AREA ABOVE THE WINDSHIELD IN THE 3RD YEAR OF OWNERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP (HONDA OF CLEAR LAKE) DID NOT CONSIDER THAT AS WARRANTY WHEN THE ISSUE WAS POINTED OUT TO THEM. AN INDEPENDENT QUOTE FOR FIXING THE PAINT (PEARL WHITE) WAS WELL OVER $2000. GIVEN THAT THIS IS A RELATIVELY NEW CAR, HONDA MUST OWN UP THE ISSUE AND DO THIS PAINT RELATED FIX FREE OF CHARGE, ON DOING A SEARCH ON ODYSSEY OWNERS FORA, I NOTED THAT THERE ARE SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THE MODEL.
MY DOOR CAME AJAR WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD!!! WHEN THE DASH TEMPERATURE READS ABOVE 96 DEGREES, THE ELECTRONICS OF THE REAR-SLIDING DOORS WILL NOT OPERATE. THIS HAS OCCURRED SINCE THE VAN WAS 3.5 MONTH OLD. THE LOCAL SERVICE DEPT CANNOT RECREATE THE ISSUE, AND NO ERROR CODE DISPLAYS ON THE DASH. MY BABY HAS BEEN TRAPPED IN THE BACKSEAT, BECAUSE I CANNOT OPEN THE DOOR. DURING THE HOT TEMPS, THE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN MANUALLY. THE DOORS ARE COMPLETELY STUCK! ONCE I DRIVE AROUND AND THE VAN COOLS, THE ELECTRONICS/SLIDING DOORS OPERATE JUST FINE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. THIS OCCURS WHEN THE VAN IS PARKED, BECAUSE BEING STATIONARY IN THE SUN ALLOWS IT TO GET HOTTER. EVEN WITH IT'S ONLY 93 OUTSIDE, THE DASH MAY READ 101 AFTER SITTING IN THE PARKING LOT FOR A FEW HOURS. LAST WEEK, I TRIED TO OPEN IT AROUND 3PM. IT WOULD NOT BUDGE. THE DASH SHOWED ALL DOORS CLOSED WHEN I PULLED OUT OF THE PARKING LOT. FIVE MINUTES LATER, AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE, AT 65 MPH, THE DOOR CAME AJAR! I HAD TO PULL OVER AND CLOSE IT. I HAVE READ MANY BLOGS WITH OTHER ODYSSEY OWNERS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. I HAVE A RECENT VIDEO OF THE ISSUE, BUT THIS SITE DOES NOT ALLOW THAT FORMATTING.
THE BRAKES ON OUR 2014 ODYSSEY STARTED VIBRATING SLIGHTLY WHEN APPLIED AT 20,000 MILES. SLOWLY THE VIBRATION HAS INCREASED WITH TIME AND IS NOW VERY APPARENT AT 28K. OUR DEALER CLAIMS THAT THERE IS NO SERVICE BULLETEN ON THE ISSUE AND IT APPEARS THA THE BRAKE ROTORS ARE WARPED AND NEED TO BE RESURFACED. HOWEVER, WE ARE VERY CAUTIOUS DRIVERS AND HVE NEVER ENCOUNTERED THIS PROBLEM WITH ANY OF OUR NUMEROUS OTHER VEHICLES. ALSO, WHEN LOOKING FOR INFORMATION ON THE PROBLEM ON THE WEB, IT APPEARS THAT THIS HAS BEEN A LONGSTANDING ISSUE THAT HONDA APPEARS TO BE AVOIDING. AND SIMPLY PUT, TRUEING THE ROTORS WILL ONLY TEMPORARLY CORRECT THE PROBLEM AND HASTEN A REACURRANCE! TO SAY THE LEAST, THIS HAS BEEN A VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE WITH OUR FIRST ODYSSEY!

THERE IS A MAJOR ELECTRIC ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE AND HONDA IS UNWILLING TO ADDRESS IT, THERE IS NUMEROUS PLACES ON THE INTERNET OF THE SAME DOOR ISSUES!!! GIVE A PLACE TO SEND VIDEOS, I HAVE ABOUT 10 I CAN SEND WHERE YOU CAN CLEAR SEE THAT THE DOORS AND ELECTRICAL ARE NOT WORKING. ALSO SINCE THIS IS ELECTRICAL I AM ON MY 3RD BATTERY FOR THIS 2014 VEHICLE, IF YOU TEST THE BATTERY WHILE IN CAR IT WILL TEST AT ABOUT 1300+ CRANKING AMPS, WHICH THE DEALERSHIP CAN NOT EXPLAIN. TAKE THE BATTERY OF OF THE CAR AND IT TESTS CORRECTLY AND BY MORE COMPANY.. CLEARLY AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE. THE SLIDING DOORS WILL NOT OPEN UNDER POWER OF THE CAR OFTEN, IT IS AS IF THERE IS NO POWER GOING TO THE DOOR, SWITCHES, OR THE KEY FAB. I DO HAVE YOUNGER CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE AND DO NOT FEEL SAFE AND SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED.
WHILE MY SON WAS REACHING FOR SEATBELT HIS ARM/WRIST GOT STUCK IN DOOR AS IT WAS CLOSING. DOOR WOULD NOT MOVE AND JUST SANDWICHED HIS WRIST. WHETHER CAR WAS IN DRIVE OR PARK DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN OR CLOSE. FINALLY WE GOT HIS WRIST OUT AND DOOR CLOSED.
WHILE I AM DRIVING THE HONDA ODYSSEY TODAY, EVERYTIME I WAS INCREASING THE SPEED FROM 0, IT WAS GIVING BIG JERK. I STOPPED AND AGAIN INCREASED THE SPEED, SAME PROBLEM. I TURNED IT OFF AND RESTARTED, THEN IT WAS FINE. SAME THING HAPPENED MANY TIMES IN PAST, BUT NEVER RECOGNIZED THE PATTERN.
TRANSMISSION HAS HARD JERK WHEN SHIFTING AT EVERY GEAR LEVEL (1ST TO 2ND, 2ND TO 3RD, ETC.) HONDA DEALER REPORTS THAT THE FLUID IS BLACK. IT ONLY HAS 57,000 MILES. I SEE MANY OTHER PEOPLE ONLINE COMPLAINING OF TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS ON THE 2014 ODYSSEY...HONDA SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL.

TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR BUCKING WHEN SLOWLY ACCELERATING AFTER A STOP. ALSO ACCELERATING PROBLEMS WITH IT BEING JERKY AND/OR UN-SMOOTH. IT SOMETIMES JOLTS FORWARD AS WELL. WE JUST PURCHASED THIS CAR USED FROM A DEALER LESS THAN 2 MONTHS AGO WITH 16,500 MILES ON IT.
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS DISTANCE IS LIMITED BY A HORIZONTAL BLACKNESS. THIS IS NOT ENOUGH DISTANCE TO DRIVE SAFELY. LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT 55W (H11 HALAGON TYPE, SAME BULB USED FOR FOG LIGHTS ON THESE VEHICLES. . ACCORDING TO TRIPLE A THESE ARE NOT SAFE OVER 35 MPH ON A UNLIT HIGHWAY. I FIND THE HEADLIGHT TO BE VERY ANNOYING AND UNSAFE BY LIMITING THE DISTANCE VIEWED ON THE ROAD AHEAD.
24,000 MILES ON OUR CAR AND IT IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD AND WE WERE TOLD OUR FRONT ROTORS WERE WARPED AND NEEDED TO BE MACHINED. I HAD CALL THE SERVICE DEPT. WHEN WE WERE UNDER 20,000MILES AND WAS TOLD THE SQEAKY NOISE WAS FROM THE RAIN AND THE WATER GETTING ONTO THE BRAKE PADS... YA OK. $120 + LABOR + TAXES LATER AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS DUE TO MY DRIVING STYLE.. WHICH I DO NOT "RIDE THE BRAKES" NOR DO I "BREAK HARD" . WE HAVE NEVER HAD AN ISSUE LIKE THIS WITH ANY OTHER CAR. MY HUSBANDS CHEVY MALIBU HAS OVER 100,000 MILES ON IT AND THIS IS THE SECOND TIME WE HAVE HAD TO HAVE HIS BRAKES DONE. I AM VERY FRUSTRATED WITH THIS AND I THINK IT SHOULD BE UNDER WARRANTY OR SOME SORT OF RECALL ON THE ROTORS.
OUR 2014 HONDA ODYSSEY HAS 41,000 MILES ON IT AND WE HAVE HAD TO HAVE NEW BRAKES THREE TIMES AND ROTORS RESURFACED TWICE. WE JUST HAD TO HAVE A BENT AXLE REPLACED. THE NEW AXLE WAS ALSO BENT SO A THIRD ONE HAD TO BE INSTALLED.
30K MILES HAD TO HAVE MY ROTORS RESURFACED DUE TO WARPING. THIS IS MY WIFE'S CAR AND SHE DRIVES IT LIKE AN OLD LADY SO I KNOW IT'S NOT HER DRIVING STYLE. SEEMS LIKE THIS IS A COMMON COMPLAINT FOR THIS VEHICLE.
MY HONDA ODYSSEY 2014 IS SHAKING A LOT WHEN SPEED IS ACCELERATED UP AROUND 20-25 MPH. THIS IISSUE HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME A FEW WEEKS AGO. TODAY, THIS ISSUE HAPPENS AGAIN. IT IS SCARY TO DRIVE BACK HOME FROM WORK TODAY. SINCE THIS ISSUE HAPPENS MULTIPLE TIMES, I THINK IT CAN BE A DEFECT, WHICH HONDA SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL.
