Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2007 Hummer H3. The contact discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was an independent dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 122,791 and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 122,799 but additional documents also showed that the mileage was unchanged over a 3-year period.
The problem was unknown to me and probably would be to any vehicle owner that is not a mechanic. I was driving a death trap and didn't know how easily it could have been a serious problem. The driver side leaf spring bracket had completely broke apart from the frame on the upper drive side corner in an area that without getting underneath the vehicle with a flashlight and specifically looking for would be impossible to see. The only reason I know about it now is because I took it for an inspection and it failed due to this structural defect which the technician informed me was a very common issue with the 2007 H3 vehicles. He said that if I had been on a highway at 65/70 mph and this thing broke completely free the axle would swing out behind the vehicle on the drive side and cause an uncontrollable crash that could lead to severe injury and possibly death
Louver hood vent cover flew off on the highway as I was driving.
I have the well known issue with the passkey security system. Nothing is wrong mechanically with the car but the security system will not allow the truck to start, therefore leaving me randomly leaving me stranded. Much has been documented on this issue, yet gm has never done a recall.
So the part that is a malfunction is the rear doors weren’t made with any child lock and of course one of my kids opened the door while i was driving on the highway.I have a 3 and 5 year old and it scared me so bad I had to hurry and pull the hummer over and park and just held my son. I couldn’t even drive after that because of how bad it traumatized me. My mom had to come get and take me and my kids home and drive my hummer back home. Even though we didn’t crash or one of my kids didn’t fall out.it’s still a very serious safety hazard. I reached out to gm to see what my options were and there response was how gm made child locks in 2007 and up and that’s not the truth because mine is a 2007 and it clearly doesn’t have child locks. Then they later proceeded to tell me I should just sell my vehicle. I was so upset because if one of my kids would have fallen out and something happened I would do everything in my power to make sure they were held accountable and file a lawsuit against them. Yes The vehicle is available to inspect. My kids safety was at risk and then me braking and pulling off the highway in panic mode could have caused an accident.it’s been reported to gm and also local dealers. There was no warning just when it happened scared me so bad because my kids are in my back seat. The photos I uploaded are of the transcribed voicemails and I’m willing to also submit the voicemails from gm as well.
The contact owns a 2007 Hummer H3. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the hood louvers loosened without warning. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 10V179000 (Structure) which he linked to the failure. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed that the vehicle was already serviced prior under recall. The contact was provided an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
I bought my 2007 hummerh3 used w/124,000 miles. I've had it a month and already had it in mechanic shop due to not starting. The mechanic thought it was a fuel relay and charged me 258.00 parts/labor/tow. Today 11-16-21, only a day after I got it back, it stopped on me again!! Just had it towed again. Just learning that this is a common problem! Is anything being done to rectify this problem?
The (2) u-joints , upper and lower, in the steering column were failing and the front wheels would not return to straight. According to the shop that replaced the u-joints they had failed. This is the second H3 with the same problem.
Sunroof leaks & drain's don't work , my heart wiring plug has melted , do to water my car worning lights all were flashing then dash lights & speedometer all crashed and soon as I parked would not start. I took a dehumidifier put it in the shop and dried it out then everything worked again.
The contact owns a 2007 Hummer H3. The contact stated while driving at 50 mph, the vehicle started to overheat and stalled. The contact stated the temperature and the check engine warning light were illuminated. The vehicle was then towed to a local dealer where it has yet to be diagnosed due to the battery needing to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact had the vehicle serviced under NHTSA campaign number: 15V421000 (Visibility) prior to experiencing the failure. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.
VEHICLE MISFIRES FREQUENTLY. ENGINE WILL NEARLY STALL AT IDLE DUE TO MISFIRES AND SHAKE THE WHOLE VEHICLE. LACK OF POWER AND EFFICIENCY. AND JUDDERING WHILE ACCELERATING. IT IS KNOWN TO GM AND MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD TO RESORT TO CYLINDER HEAD REPLACEMENTS COSTING HUNDREDS AT A MINIMUM.
IGNITION SWITCH STAYS ON WITH KEY OFF AND OUT AND ALARM GOES OFF SOMETIMES JUST SITTING AND BATTERY GOES DEAD
OIL LIGHT COMES ON WHEN IDLE. TRUCK LOSES PRESSURE. NO DEALERSHIP SOLUTION.
WITH NO WARNING LIGHTS OR SIGNS, H3 WOULDN'T ACCELERATE WHILE PRESSING THE GAS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HUMMER H3. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WATER ENTERED THE VEHICLE FROM THE SUN ROOF ASSEMBLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE VACUUMING WATER OUT OF THE VEHICLE, THE AIR BAGS IN THE VEHICLE DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SUN ROOF DRAIN TUBES WERE CLOGGED WHICH FAILED TO DRAIN WATER AS INTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOYLE BUICK GMC TRUCK (3015 EMMORTON RD, ABINGDON, MD 21009) WHERE THE DASHBOARD WAS TAKEN APART AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE DRAIN LINES WERE DISCONNECTED. THE DRAIN LINES WERE CLEANED AND RECONNECTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000.
ON 3/13/2020 MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR 2007 HUMMER H3 WHEN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND DASH AREA CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE BLOWER MOTOR CONNECTOR MODULE HAD BEEN REPLACED RECENTLY AS PART OF A SAFETY RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND SHE HAD JUST MADE A LEFT TURN. ALTHOUGH THE PART HAD BEEN REPLACED, I STILL BELIEVE THAT THIS RECALL ISSUE WAS THE CAUSE OF SAID FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT CALLED IT AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE. THERE WAS NO WARNING AT ALL. THIS WAS TRAUMATIC FOR MY WIFE SHE HAD TO JUMP OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND HAD A MISCARRIAGE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HUMMER H3. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE ENGINE OIL INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND AN ODOR EMITTED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE OIL AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THERE WAS A SMALL HOLE IN THE MANIFOLD, WHICH BURNED OUT THE OIL. THE CONTACT PAID OUT OF POCKET TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND FILED A CLAIM. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
WENT OUT TO START H3, TURNED KEY, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON AND THE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM LIGHT CAME ON. PASSLOCK/SECURITY SYSTEM INSIDE THE STEERING COLUMN IS BAD. CAR WON'T START. IS UNSAFE AND WILL STRAND OWNER WITHOUT WARNING BY NOT STARTING. GOES INTO SECURITY MODE. WAS TOLD TO WAIT 10 MIN AND TRY AGAIN. CAN'T TURN IT OFF AT GAS PUMP FOR FEAR OF IT LOCKING ME OUT AND NOT STARTING. I HAD THIS HAPPEN TO ME 4 TIMES IN ONE DAY. SO MANY COMPLAINTS ALL OVER THE INTERNET AND PEOPLE TRYING TO FIX THIS ISSUE. THERE IS EVEN A COMPANY SELLING A PART TO BYPASS THIS AND THE SECURITY SYSTEM WHICH AGAIN IS ANOTHER ISSUE. GM IS CLEARLY AWARE OF THIS ISSUE. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. STRANDING PEOPLE CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS. IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY AND THE CAR WON'T START. ALL AROUND BAD BUSINESS BY GM FOR NOT ISSUING THIS RECALL. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MILEAGE WHICH GM MANAGER SAID ON THE PHONE. THESE H3'S ARE KNOW FROM THIS FRESH OFF THE DEALERSHIP FLOOR. PEOPLE ARE BEING FORCED TO TAKE IT TO A DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR AND REPLACING THE PART WHEN THE LABOR COSTS MORE THAN THE PART. SEEM LIKE A MONOPOLY FOR GM AND ITS DEALERSHIPS. I HAVE SEEN ANYWHERE FROM 1500-2000.00 TO INSTALL AND RECTIFY THIS BAD PART AT THE GM DEALERSHIPS.
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND IT STOP AND IT WOULD NOT START ENGINE LOCK UP
THE TUBULAR FRAME HAD WHAT LOOKS LIKE COLD SLUGS WELDS AT SEVERAL JOINT LOCATIONS THAT ALLOWED WATER TO ENTER AND RUST FROM THE INSIDE OUT. THE FRAME CAN BE PUSHED THROUGH WITH A FINGER. THE FRAME SPRINGS BROKE WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD DROPPING THE FUEL TANK THROUGH THE GAS TANK CAUSING A FIRE HAZARD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HUMMER H3. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE FAILED TO START. THE CONTACT HAD TO SIT IN THE VEHICLE AND WAIT A WHILE BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT AND WAS BECOMING MORE FREQUENT. IN ADDITION, THE PASS LOCK WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE MANIFOLD AND WAS REIMBURSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,822. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HUMMER H3. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER'S AIR BAG DEPLOYED WITHOUT IMPACT OR WARNING. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO HIS RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER DRIVEN TO AUTONATION BUICK GMC HENDERSON (702-979-2044, LOCATED AT 330 NORTH GIBSON ROAD, HENDERSON, NV 89014). THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THE VEHICLE AND PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH A REPAIR QUOTE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROMISED TO LOOK INTO THE MATTER AND CALL THE CONTACT BACK. THE CONTACT WAS NOT CALLED BACK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 186,000.
HOOD VENT IS LOOSE&COMING OFF.
HUMMER WILL NOT START, ENGINE TURNS OVER NORMALLY, BUT WILL NOT START. WAIT EXACTLY 10 MINUTES AND IT STARTS UP FINE. CAN HAPPEN ANY TIME, AT THE GAS STATION, FIRST THING IN THE MORNING. LEARNED THAT IF THE SECURITY LIGHT ON THE DASH BLINKS WHEN THE KEY IS TURNED ON, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT START. IF LIGHT STAYS ON, THE VEHICLE STARTS. HAVE WATCHED FOR THIS AT EVERY START UP, CAN NOW TELL WHEN THE VEHICLE WON'T START. THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH GM VEHICLES WITH PASS LOCK SINCE THE LATE 1990S, GM NEED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS PROBLEM NOW!!!!!!!!!!
PLASTIC HOOD LOUVER HAS BECOME DETACHED, SEVERAL OF THE PLASTICS CLIPS ATTACHING THE LOUVERS TO THE HOOD ARE BROKEN. THE LOUVER FLEW OFF THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING ON A STATE HIGHWAY GOING APPROXIMATELY 50 MILES PER HOUR.

THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REBUILT THE TRANSMISSION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AFTER APPROXIMATELY THREE MINUTES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 134,565.
PASSLOCK ISSUES NOT ALLOWING THE VEHICLE TO START. WAIT 10MIN WITH MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS.
I STOPPED AT GAS STATION FOR FUEL. VEHICLE WOULD NOT START FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES AFTER FUELING UP. THEN IT STARTED. APPARENTLY THIS IS A WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM WITH THE HUMMER, AS I HAVE READ A NUMBER OF INCIDENTS REPORTED ON LINE WITH SAME ISSUE.
VEHICLE INSTRUMENT PANEL WARNING SHOWS: SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL REDUCED POWER STABILITY SYSTEM FAILED VEHICLE MISFIRES WHEN THIS HAPPENS SOMETIMES VEHICLE SHUTS OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WHEN TRYING TO RESTART IT DOES NOT RESTART SOMETIMES AFTER THIS

A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BACK AND HIP INJURIES, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A TOW LOT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000.
TAKATA RECALL. I WAS DRIVING DWN RURAL HWY @ NIGHT NEW HWY JUST PURCHASED 1 MTH PRIOR FROM IND. WENT TO OUT MY SODA IN CUP HOLDER WENT OUT OF LANE BARELY ENOUGH TO MK THE SOUND OUT OF LN I MUST OF OVER CORRECTED AND ALL I REMEMBER IS I WOKE UP AFTER FLIPPING 8X NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED NOT ONE. I HIT MY HEAD ON STEERING WHEEL DO NOT REMENBER ANYTHG. THIS WAS GIVING BY WITNESS. NOW MY BACK IS CURVED TO LEFT I CANT PUT MY SHOES ON MY LEFT LEG IS GOING NUMB NOW HAVE BULDGING DISC IN BACK OF NECK MY HIPS R OUT OF PLACE. I CAN BARELY WALK I CANT GET A DOC. TO SEE ME I HAD FULL COVERAGE UNINSUED INSURED MOTIRIST, COMP COLLIOSION, PROPERTY EVERYTHING. IM SCARED IM GOING TO GO PARALYED IF I DONT GET ANY HELP. PLEASE . TAKATA RECALL. I HAD AN ACCIDENT ON 2/28/18. I FLIPPED 8X AND NOT ONE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. SO I SUSTAINED MULTIPLE INJURIES BUT I CANT GET ANY HELP. THESE AIRBAGS HAVE A GLITCH IN THE SENSOR. BUT SOMEONE NEEDS TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DEDECT

THE CONTACT COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, POWERED OFF THE VEHICLE, AND WAITED FOR A FEW MINUTES TO RESTART IT AND RESUME DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO STINGRAY CHEVROLET BARTOW (1475 W MAIN ST, BARTOW, FL 33830, (863) 800-9999) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SPEED SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. YESTERDAY, JANUARY 9, 2018, THE LOUVRE ON THE FRONT OF MY VEHICLE BLEW OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING. IT WAS SUBSEQUENTLY RUN OVER BY THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME AND BROKEN. LUCKY NO ONE WAS HURT. IN RESEARCHING THE REPLACEMENT PART, I CAME TO LEARN THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. I CONTACTED CADILLAC OF DUBLIN TO REPLACE/REPAIR THE LOUVRE. THEY THEN INFORMED ME THAT THE RECALL HAD BEEN DONE AT JEFF WYLER IN KY. THIS IS CATEGORICALLY UNTRUE. CLEARLY, THE RECALL WAS NOT DONE. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO GLUE RESIDUE ANYWHERE ON MY VEHICLE OR THE LOUVRE. MOREOVER, HAD JEFF WYLER ACTUALLY PERFORMED THE RECALL, IT FAILED. MISERABLY. I SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE TO PAY FOR THE PART NOR THE REPLACEMENT THEREOF. THE INFORMATION IN THE RECALL SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED/UPDATED/REVISED TO ACCURATELY REFLECT THAT THE RECALL WAS NOT DONE, SO THAT I CAN ACTUALLY HAVE THE SITUATION CORRECTED/REQUIRED WORK PERFORMED.
SIR/MA'AM, I AM WRITING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE 2007 HUMMER H3 SECURITY SYSTEM NOT ALLOWING THE VEHICLE TO START UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS. I MAINTAIN MY VEHICLE TO HIGH STANDARDS AND OVER THE LAST 8 MONTHS HAVE HAD ISSUES STARTING MY HUMMER. WHEN THE HUMMER DOES NOT START, YOU MUST WAIT 10-15 MINUTES TO EVEN ATTEMPT TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WILL TURN OVER, BUT NO FUEL IS SENT TO THE ENGINE TO START. IF IT DOESN'T START AGAIN, YOU MUST WAIT ANOTHER 10-15 MINUTES. THE LATTER HAS HAPPENED TO ME 5 OR 6 TIMES IN JUST THE LAST 2 MONTHS. THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS TO GM ABOUT THIS EXACT ISSUE, AND HAS FALLEN ON DEAF EARS. VEHICLE WON'T START. THE PASSLOCK PREVENTS THE VEHICLE FROM STARTING. THE CAR ALARM WILL START WHILE I'M OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE AND THEN THE VEHICLE WON'T START. I REPLACED THE BATTERY BUT THE PASSLOCK STILL MAKES THE ALARM GO OFF WHILE ITS LOCKED IN THE DRIVEWAY.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO FERRIS CHEVROLET WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BODY CONTROL MODULE WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 112,171.
