This page combines three types of NHTSA data: recall campaigns (official manufacturer or government actions), owner complaints (unverified consumer reports), and crash test ratings (where available). A vehicle with many complaints is not necessarily less reliable — complaint volume correlates with sales volume and vehicle age. Recalls indicate identified defects, not overall quality. To compare this model year with others, use the year navigation in the sidebar or return to the model overview page.

In the affected vehicles, the front lower control arms may fracture due to corrosion resulting from exposure to road salt and water.

Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the degree of corrosion of the front lower control arms, and will either rustproof or replace them, free of charge. The recall began on January 3, 2014. Owners may contact Hyundai at 1-800-633-5151 or by email at consumeraffairs@hmausa.com. Hyundai's recall number is 115.

The total number of vehicles being recalled is now 1,712,336. In the affected vehicles, the stop lamp switch may malfunction. A malfunctioning stop lamp switch may cause the brake lights to not illuminate when the brake pedal is depressed or may cause an inability to deactivate the cruise control by depressing the brake pedal. Additionally, a malfunctioning stop lamp switch may also result in intermittent operation of the push-button start feature, affect the operation of the brake transmission shift interlock feature, preventing the shifter from being moved out of the PARK position and cause the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) malfunction light to illuminate.
Remedy Status

ON CERTAIN MINIVANS EQUIPPED WITH ADJUSTABLE BRAKE PEDALS, THE STOP LAMP SWITCH WIRING HARNESS MAY BE OUT OF POSITION. REPEATED CONTACT MAY EVENTUALLY CAUSE THE WIRING HARNESS INSULATION TO CHAFE.
Remedy Status
DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE WIRING HARNESS FOR CHAFING AND REPAIR IT IF NECESSARY. ALSO, THE DEALER WILL SECURE THE WIRING HARNESS TO PREVENT FUTURE CONTACT WITH THE U-JOINT ASSEMBLY.THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 9, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HYUNDAI AT 1-800-633-5151.

THE STOP LAMP SWITCH IN THE AFFECTED VEHICLES MAY MALFUNCTION. A STOP LAMP SWITCH MALFUNCTION MAY ALSO AFFECT THE OPERATION OF THE BRAKE-TRANSMISSION SHIFT INTERLOCK FEATURE SO THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO BE SHIFTED OUT OF THE PARK POSITION. IT MAY ALSO CAUSE THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) MALFUNCTION LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE, AND IT MAY NOT DEACTIVATE THE CRUISE CONTROL WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED.
Remedy Status
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE STOP LAMP SWITCH FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JUNE 29, 2009. OWNERS MAY CONTACT THE HYUNDAI CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER AT 1-800-633-5151.

The valve over eventually leaks oil that drips down on to the alternator. This cause the electrical system to fail, the battery and brake lights come on. Then slowly all lights come on as battery shuts down. This is a known issue with this engine. This happened to me yesterday while driving at night leaving the car unable to drive. When the battery completely shuts down you cannot even move the vehicle out of Park, as electric is needed to disengage the the shifter from park, so you cannot even push the vehicle off of the road. Hyundai has a recall for the exact same engine in the Veracruz. Here are two videos showing issues. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSLmj8Gqc1Q https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9Q78so3GPI https://www.carproblemzoo.com/hyundai/entourage/engine-oil-leaking-problems.php The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v415000 (engine and engine cooling).

I was driving on the street and heard a snap I then pulled over contacted a tow company and brought it to the nearest mechanic shop was told that my control arms are so rusted that they snapped on both sides left and right one cracked completely through the other 1 Has just a crack but was not completely broke had to pay for the repairs at $2677 later to find out that in 2014 a recall was made recall 115. I just purchased this car however records don't show this as a active recall so either it was serviced and not properly fixed therefore still making it dangerous for my family and others or was never completed and being sold as a unsafe vehicle to my sister whom I brought this vehicle from. When she bought it nothing about this recall 115 was listed so she was not aware when selling this van to us.

IN JUNE OF THIS YEAR, WE RECEIVED AN 'IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL' FROM HYUNDAI, INSTRUCTING ME TO PARK MY CAR OUTSIDE AND AWAY FROM STRUCTURES AND OTHER VEHICLES UNTIL A REPAIR IS COMPLETED. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO RUSSELL WESTBROOK HYUNDAI IN GARDEN GROVE ON JUNE 15TH OF THIS YEAR. WE WERE TOLD THAT IT WOULD BE READY LATER THAT DAY. THEN THE 16TH. THEN THE 17TH. THEN THE 18TH. THEN THE 19TH. THEN I WAS TOLD THE PARTS WOULD ARRIVE IN A COUPLE OF DAYS AND DID I WANT TO LEAVE THE CAR THERE. I DECLINED. ON JUNE 22, I CALLED THE PARTS DEPARTMENT AND WAS TOLD THE PARTS WOULD ARRIVE IN THE MIDDLE OF JULY. I CALLED AT THAT TIME AND I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE THE END OF JULY. I WAS ADVISED THAT I WOULD BE CONTACTED WITHIN 3-5 DAYS. TWO MONTHS HAVE GONE BY WITH NO FURTHER WORD. I'M 77 YEARS OLD AND I'M UNEASY DRIVING THIS CAR.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING WITH CHILDREN IN THE CAR AND RIGHT HAND SIDE SUSPENSION CONTROL ARM SNAPPED IN HALF. CAR WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN HOME BUT WHEEL WAS PUSHED UP AGAINST THE WHEEL WELL.
THE SPARE TIRE ASSEMBLY WAS SO RUSTED THAT YOU COULDN'T REMOVE THE SPARE DONUT. THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE REGULAR TIRE HAD A SMALL NAIL IN IT RESULTING IN SOME AIR LOSS. SO TOWN FAIR TIRE IN TEWKSBURY MA AGREED TO PLUG THE TIRE BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT REMOVE THE SPARE TIRE DO TO HEAVY RUST IN WHICH THEY ALSO SAID THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM TO THIS MODEL VEHICLE. ALSO I AGREED WITH TOWN FAIR TIRE THAT I WOULD GET IT UP TO MY DEALERSHIP: JD BY RIDER UP IN MANCHESTER NH ASAP FOR EXTRA SERVICES. JD BY RIDER SENT MY VEHICLE TO TOWN FAIR TIRE IN MANCHESTER NH & T.F.T. ALSO RECOMMENDED A BRAND NEW FACTORY SPARE TIRE ASSEMBLY. I ENDED UP HAVING TO BUY 4 BRAND NEW REPLACEMENT GENERAL GRABBER TIRES P75-65R-16 TIRES. ALSO JD BY RIDER HAD TO BUY ANOTHER SPARE DONUT TIRE FOR PUTTING IT IN THE WAY BACK OF MY VEHICLE. THE ORIGINAL SPARE TIRE IS STILL FROZEN UNDERNEATH THE PASSENGER REAR OF MY VEHICLE. I HAD TO DRIVE TO TOWN FAIR TIRE THINKING THAT THE FRONT TIRE JUST NEEDED SOME AIR PUT IN IT BUT TFT TOOK IT OFF THE RIM & DISCOVERED THE NAIL IN IT RIGHT NEAR ANOTHER PLUG. THAT WAS WHY THEY WERE HESITANT ON PUTTING IN THE NEW PLUG.
BOTH OF THE REAR DOOR HANDLES SNAPPED OFF FOR NO REASON. WE WERE STATIONARY AND I WENT TO OPEN IT, NO EXCESS FORCE OR PULLING. TRIED TO OPEN AND BOTH BROKE OFF IN MY HAND. THE BACK WINDSHIELD WIPER HOOK ALSO SNAPPED AND THREW MY WINDSHIELD WIPER OFF. I WAS STATIONARY, I HAD TAKEN OFF THE OLD ONE PUT A NEW ONE ON AND IT BROKE AND LOST MY WINDSHIELD WIPER WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY! CHEAPLY MADE HANDLES AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS!
MINIVAN WAS PARKED AT NIGHT IN OUR HOME GARAGE AND SPONTANEOUSLY WENT ON FIRE. ALL RECOMMENDED FACTORY MAINTENANCE WAS ALWAYS PERFORMED. NO RECALL FOR OUR VEHICLE EXISTED. SIGNIFICANT RISK TO PROPERTY AND LOSS OF LIFE. PUSHED IT OUT OF GARAGE TO SAVE FAMILY AND HOME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HYUNDAI ENTOURAGE. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE LOWER CONTROL ARM FRACTURED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V556000 (SUSPENSION) FIVE YEARS AGO. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE RECALL REPAIR WAS INSUFFICIENT AND THAT THERE SHOULD BE AN ANNUAL INSPECTION TO ASCERTAIN POSSIBLE DAMAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO GARY ROME HYUNDAI (LOCATED AT 150 WHITING FARMS RD, HOLYOKE, MA 01040, (413) 536-4328) TO BE REPAIRED A SECOND TIME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114,000.
WHILE DRIVING TO WORK YESTERDAY MORNING, I WAS TURNING OFF A SIDE ROAD ONTO A MAIN ROAD. AS SOON AS I TURNED ON TO THE MAIN ROAD THE VAN SOUNDED LIKE MAYBE IT HAD A FLAT, IT DID NOT. BOTH ESC LIGHTS CAME ON AND STAYED ON. THE STEERING AND BRAKING WAS ERRATIC AND THERE WAS NO PICK UP. I COULD NOT GET THE WHEELS TO TURN THE SAME DIRECTION AS THE STEERING WHEEL FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME MOVING INTO ON COMING TRAFFIC. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO GET SHORT PERIOD OF CONTROL, ENOUGH TO BARLEY TURN INTO A PARKING LOT. I AM SO FORTUNATE THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN ON THE HIGHWAY AT 55MPH OR COULD HAVE BEEN HORRIFIC. I DID CALL HYUNDAI AND THERE ARE SEVERAL RECALLS FOR THE VAN INCLUDING THE FRONT CONTROL ARMS. I ASKED IF THEY CAN TOW TO THE NEAREST DEALER CONSIDERING I JUST AVOIDED AN ACCIDENT AND HAD NO CONTROL. HYUNDAI WILL NOT TOW TO THE DEALER. THEY DID OFFER TO REIMBURSE ME IF I TOW IT, BUT THAT DOES NOT HELP ME CURRENTLY. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SITUATION AND NEEDS TO BE RECTIFIED BY HYUNDAI BEFORE A DRIVER IS NOT ABLE TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT DUE TO HAVING NO PICK UP OR CONTROL OF THE STEERING.
