MY CAR CUT OFF ON A CITY STREET, ON 4-11-21 AND WHEN I CUT IT BACK ON THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WAS BLINKING WITH THE ACCELERATION REDUCED AND THE CAR WAS JERKING. I GOT THE CODE P1326 FROM A LOCAL AUTO STORE AND UPON DOING RESEARCH, I DISCOVERED THERE'S AN OPEN RECALL FOR THIS SPECIFIC CODE. I SCHEDULED THE APPOINTMENT WITH BOB MAYBERRY HYUNDAI, AND HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP IN MONROE, NC. I CALLED FOR AN UPDATE AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY WERE WAITING ON THE CORPORATE OFFICE TO APPROVE THE NEXT STEPS AND THAT THE SAME CODE P1326 POPPED UP. I CALLED THE CORPORATE OFFICE ON WEDNESDAY MORNING AFTER GETTING NOWHERE WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS CALLED SHORTLY AFTER STATING THAT THE CAR WAS READY FOR PICK UP FOLLOWED BY SOME THINGS THAT NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THEY CLEARED THE CODE WITH A SYSTEM UPDATE BUT WHEN I GOT THE CAR BACK IT WAS STILL GIVING ACCELERATION ISSUES, I CALLED AND REPORTED THE ISSUE TO THE HYUNDAI CORPORATE OFFICE AND WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE CAR TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP AND THEY WOULD WORK OUT THE DETAILS. I SCHEDULED MY APPOINTMENT WITH THE HYUNDAI OF LAKE NORMAN, NC FOR TODAY 4-19-21 AND WAS ADVISED THE CAR PASSED THE TESTS THAT THEY RAN AND AGAIN WAS PROVIDED A LIST OF RECOMMENDATIONS OF REPAIRS. I GOT THE CAR BACK AND NOW THE ACCELERATION ISSUES STILL IS ONGOING ESPECIALLY IF I AM STOPPED AND TAKE OFF BUT NOW IF I DRIVE OVER 50MPH THE CAR IS SHAKING. I HAD MY BRAKE PADS REPLACED AND PAID FOR THE OIL LEAK LAST WEEK. THIS IS THE SECOND DEALERSHIP THAT PUT ME PUT ME BACK IN THE CAR WITH KNOWN ISSUES. I FEEL LIKE THEY'RE GOING TO HAVE ME PAY FOR EVERYTHING BEFORE THE CAR IS REPAIRED AND NOW I AM IN FEAR THAT IF CAR SHUTS OFF AGAIN, MYSELF BUT MY CHILDREN COULD BE INJURED.
THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. I HEARD A NOISE UNDER THE HOOD. IT GOT LOUDER WHEN I WOULD LET GO OF THE GAS PEDAL. I TOOK IT TO THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP ON THORTON ROAD IN LITHIA SPRINGS, GA. IT'S TAKING 4-6 WEEKS JUST TO COMPLETE THE BEARINGS TEST. THE DEALERSHIP HAS NO AVAILABLE TEMPORARY VEHICLES, BECAUSE APPARENTLY SEVERAL OTHER OWNERS ARE IN FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THIS IS AN INCONVENIENCE, I'LL STILL BE MAKING PAYMENTS ON A VEHICLE THAT IS PARKED. WHEN I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP FOR A ROUGH ESTIMATE FOR TRADE IN, THEY TOLD ME 1K SINCE IT NEEDS A NEW MOTOR.
THE DAY I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE FROM CARMAX, IT WAS BROUGH TO MY ATTENTION THAT THESES BEEN A RECALL REQUEST ON THE VEHICLE'S PARKING BREAK SYSTEM. I'D LIKE TO GET THAT CHECKED OUT. ALSO, IT SEEMS AS THO MY LEFT REAR TIRE RUNS OUT OF PRESSURE QUITE FREQUENTLY, AS I'VE HAD TO FILL IT UP TWICE IN THE LAST TWO DAYS (IT GOT DOWN TO 24 FOR A DAY.) THESE ARE IMMEDIATE RISKS THAT I NEED TAKEN CARE OF ASAP. THANK YOU FR YOUR TIME

THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND WAITED FOR A WHILE BEFORE CONTINUING TO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS DESIGNED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE INSPECTED HOWEVER, THE MECHAINC WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,200.
WHEN YOUR APPLYING BRAKE ON THE 2015 SONATA HYBRID TO SLOW DOWN WHEN U HIT GAS AGAIN THE TRANSMISSION STUMBLES AND HESITATES TO SPEED UP AGAIN. IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME AT ANY SPEED.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED MY ANTENNA COVER FLEW OFF. WHILE THIS MAY NOT SEEM LIKE MUCH THIS COULD VERY WELL CREATE A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE OF PARTS FLYING OFF THE CAR B
PAINT PEELING OFF ON ITS OWN. THERE WAS ALSO A LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST THEM IN 2017 FOR THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE. I OWN A 2015 WHITE HYUNDAI SONATA LIMITED AND THE PAINT PEELED OFF ON ITS OWN.
I'm really at wit's end with what is going on with my car. My car is currently at 104K, its a 2015 Hyundai Sonata Sport. A beautiful car with an abundance of serious issues. I've had trouble with my car accelerating for over a month and I've taken it to at least 5 mechanics who have troubled shooted with no success to fixing the issue. The problem: my car hesitates significantly when accelerating and sometimes when it's can't shift gears and I'm easing my foot on and off the gas pedal, it begins to shake while attempting to accelerate. I try not to put the car in sport mode but sometimes this mode is what helps the car shift gears but I don't think this good for the car. So far I've tried changing all of my spark plugs and coils replaced, fuel injectors cleaned (dealership), transmission fluid changed and ECM updated (dealership). Also, the Hyundai dealership diagnosed the issues as an engine problem (intake exhaust and timing chain + tensioner) --- cost of all these things almost $4000!! I just don't understand why the check engine light is not coming on -- which is hinting at the local mechanics that it might be a transmission based issue. No the check engine light has not come on but the car drives really poorly. I'm taking it to a transmission shop and hopefully going to get some answers as to what is going on. This issue is absolutely frustrating and now I'm just looking for real direction by waiting to see if the engine light will come one and throw a code

During the failure, the steering fault warning light was illuminated. After turning off and restarting the vehicle, the vehicle operated as intended. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure; no service was performed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 80,000.
I THOUGHT I HEARD KNOCKING IN THE ENGINE A FEW DAYS AGO. I CHECKED SEEM TO BE NO PROBLEMS. THEN YESTERDAY MARCH 27 IT STOPPED ON MY IN TRAFFIC. IT STARTED BACK UP ONCE I GOT HOME IT CUT OFF AND WON'T START BACK UP

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, MY ENGINE ABRUPTLY DIED WITH ALL SUBSEQUENT WARNING LIGHTS COMING ON. I HAD NO POWER, BEYOND BATTERY POWER, AND WAS STUCK ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY FOR 2.5 HOURS DURING RUSH HOUR. ENGINE WOULD NOT RESTART OR TURNOVER REPRESENTING A LIKELY CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE. MY LOCAL HYUNDAI DEALER DID NOT SEEM SURPRISED BY THIS REVELATION AND THEY STILL WONT TELL ME WHAT'S WRONG EVEN THOUGH THE CAR HAS BEEN UN THEIR POSSESSION FOR 72 HOURS.
The abs and traction lights are illuminated on dash with check bsd system warning on dashboard as well. Seems to be common problem with this car. With these lights on the abs system I disabled. Was told it was speed censor and then it was the bsd sensor in bumper. They told me it was in an accident I should file claim with insurance. Sounds like they don't want to repair something faulty . No abs working could mean crash
MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON AND MY CAR HAS POWER HESITATION DURING ACCELERATION. THIS HAPPEND 1-2 DAYS OUT OF THE WEEK UNTIL THE FORTH TIME IT HAPPENED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ON AND CONTINUES TO HAVE POWER HESITATION AS WELL AS HIGH IDLING AT ALL TIMES, BURNING OIL, SMOKE COMING FROM THE EXHAUST, AND THE BRAKES ARE EXTREMELY HARD WHEN NEEDING TO BRAKE. I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL MECHANIC AND THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC THAT RETURNED A CODE OF P0010 AND THEY REFERRED ME TO A HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. I WAS ALSO GIVEN A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN WITH A CAMPAIGN NUMBER OF 15-01-022-1. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ALSO CAME BACK WITH THE SAME CODE. I HAVE PAID FOR THE PARTS AND DIAGNOSTIC AND THEY COULDN'T GIVE AN ESTIMATE OF WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE BECAUSE THEY ARE ON BACK ORDER. HERE I AM TWO WEEKS LATER CALLING THE DEALERSHIP TO FOLLOW UP AND WAS TOLD BY THE PARTS DEPARTMENT THAT THEY CONTACTED HYUNDAI DIRECTLY AND THERE ARE 1800 OF THOSE PARTS ON BACK ORDER WITH AN ESTIMATED TIME OF BEING AT LEAST TWO MONTHS FOR THE PARTS TO COME IN. HYUNDAI ALSO STATED THAT THEY HAVE SUBMITTED A HIGH PRIORITY FOR THEM. I WILL BE WITHOUT A VEHICLE FOR WHO KNOWS HOW LONG.
told the Hyundai dealer 2 years(March 2021) ago that I was concerned about my oil light flashing periodically between scheduled oil changes. No action other than oil changes and one time they added a couple of quarts "no charge" as it again was low. Continued to change oil more often than necessary and the frequency increased. Multiple other car repairs have been happening and the oil now has to be added weekly to maintain proper amounts. Had to change spark plugs 2 times with in 5 months and now another engine light came on today 11/15, and when I check the code at a parts store I was told is was a P03001 and P03002 which was something to do again with the cylinders misfiring. Everyone I have spoke to says this is an engine issue and it is under recall. I did place a claim with Hyundai Care USA after being told by the dealer that it would be better if I did this instead of them. The assistant manager also confirmed that the engine is covered 100%. I did this in September after the second repairs. The Regional Manager finally called me back and indicated he agreed about the problem needing to be resolved and would call me after he spoke to the dealer in a day or two. It has been over a week and no one has called. I keep leaving messages. I now have the same error codes, it is November 15 and the spark plugs were all changed less than 2 months ago for the exact same reason. I have been stranded and at times when I accelerate onto traffic the car will not respond. I do not use the interstate anymore as I cannot predict when the car will slow down and not get enough speed and cause an accident. I only drive to work and back right now. I was given this website by the employee at the parts store along with some information concerning P1326 codes and they are engine related. I will upload the most recent repair receipt.
FUEL LINE CRACKED AND CAUGHT FIRE.
ENGINE HAD A CRITICAL ENGINE FAILURE, PER DASHBOARD?,WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY, NO ENGINE WARNING ⚠️ LIGHTS BEFORE FAILURE! CAR ENGINE SWITCHED TO LOW GEAR AND IMMEDIATELY ONLY DROVE ABOUT 10MPH. I WAS ABLE TO MOVE TO SLOW LANE THEN OFF TO THE SHOULDER...MY CAR WAS NOT HIT BY ANY OTHER CAR...BUT IT DID COME CLOSE. DROVE PERFECTLY FINE UP TO ENGINE FAILURE/SEIZURE. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY UNSAFE CONDITION FOR A CAR ENGINE TO BE IN SUDDENLY. AGAIN NO OIL OR ENGINE LIGHTS ON BEFORE ENGINE FAILURE. HYUNDAI CASE HAS BEEN CREATED # 18049339 AND DEALER NOTIFIED. BOTH APPEARS TO ME NOT TO UNDERSTAND THE SERIOUSNESS OF THIS SAFETY HAZARD... ENGINE HAS BEEN REPLACED BY A CERTIFIED MECHANIC AFTER HYUNDAI REFUSED TO HELP WITH THIS MATTER. I WILL INCLUDE RESPONSE AND INVOICE FOR ENGINE.
The vehicle has a very strong smell of gasoline and has been taken to the repair shop after spark plug flooding. Vehicle still smells like gas after repair but runs now.
WHILE DRIVING AT INTERSTATE SPEED, THE ENGINE SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND THE CEL BEGAN FLASHING. THE ENGINE DID CONTINUE TO RUN, BUT WITH SEVERE HESITATION, VIBRATION, AND KNOCK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THE ENGINE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. VEHICLE MILEAGE AT FAILURE ~125K. ENGINE: 1.6 GAMMA T-GDI, TRANSMISSION:7SP DCT. THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE 20V746000 RECALL.
VEHICLE CONTINUOUSLY ALERTS THAT THE HOOD IS OPEN WHEN IT IS IN FACT CLOSED. HOOD LATCH IS IN GOOD CONDITION. THIS HAPPENS VERY RANDOMLY, EVEN WHILE DRIVING.

THE PROBLEM IS HYUNDAI DEALER DOES NOT HAVE A FIX BECAUSE THEY SAID CORPORATE DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT IS NOT WORKING. THEY HAVE HAD MY CAR FOR 5 DAYS NOW. THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY LOANER VEHICLE WHILE MY CAR IS INOPERABLE. MY COMPLAINT IS THEY SHOULD HAVE LOAN CARS OR PAY FOR RENTAL CARS FOR CUSTOMERS WITH THIS PROBLEM. I DEMAND THEY FIX MY CAR SOON OR GIVE ME A RENTAL CAR TO DRIVE TO WORK.
THE AIRBAG DASH LIGHT INTERMITTENTLY COMES ON AND OFF, IT HAS THROWN A B1490 CODE ALTHOUGH THE CAR HAS NEVER BEEN IN ANY MAJOR ACCIDENTS BEFORE. I HAVE READ THAT IT IS A COMMON ISSUE AMONG VEHICLES LIKE MINE, HOWEVER THERE IS NO RECALL THOUGH I'VE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT IT ON ONLINE FORUMS.

MY CAR JUST STARTED MAKING A WEIRD KNOCKING SOUND AND SO I PULLED OVER AND THE CAR WOULD NOT START ONCE I TURNED IT OFF.
I HEARD A TICKING NOISE THAT WAS COMING FROM MY MOTOR TODAY 1/28/2021 AT 7:15AM WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED. I DROVE STRAIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP THE NOISE WOULD OCCUR AT WHEN THE CAR WAS IDLING OR I MY VEHICLE WAS ACCELERATING. I ARRIVED AT THE DEALERSHIP AT 8AM. AT 9 AM I WAS INFORMED THAT A BEARING IN MOTOR DROPPED IN MY MOTOR AND CAUSED METAL TO FUN THROUGH MY MOTOR AND THAT I WOULD NEED A NEW MOTOR. I BOUGHT MY CAR BRAND NEW IN 2015 AND HAVE KEPT UP ALL THE MAINTENANCE. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THERE IS NOT A CERTAIN REASON WHY THIS HAS HAPPENED.

MY CAR WAS UNDER THE HYUNDAI ENGINE RECALL CAMPAIGN THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED AT 60K NOW HAVE 113K THE CAR STAR TO GIVING ISSUES AND SMOKE FOR THE ENGINE CAP AND MUFFLER AND OIL DISPTICK THE CAR WAS TAKE TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE WAS UNDER THE HYUNDAI EXTENDED WARRANTY UNTIL 120K OR LIFE TIME AFTER THE DEALER MAKE THE INSPECTION THEY CONTACT HYUNDAI AND THEY ASK FOR PICTURES THE PICTURES WAS SENDED CAR WAS FINE NO OIL DEPOSITED EVERYTHING WAS CLEAN HYUNDAI AFTER 6 DAYS O BACK AND FOR THEY DENIED THE ENGINE CLAIM DEMANDING THE THE CAR WAS NO UNDER WARRANTY IF MY CAR WAS UNDER THE EXTENDED HOW THEY SAID THAT WITHOUT EVEN GIVE AN EXPLANATION I ATTACHED THE CONVERSATION BETWEEN THE DEALERSHIP ANS HYUNDAI DEALER
THE EMERGENCY PARKING BRAKE LIGHT DOES NOT COME ON WHEN SET, HOWEVER PARKING BRAKE DOES FUNCTION.

The contact stated the failure reoccurred as she was attempting to open the rear passenger side door. The unknown dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that she would be responsible for the cost of the repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 110,320.
HESITASION ON EXCELERATION AFTER STOP .QUITE OFTEN USUALLY AFTER A COMPLETE MOVING IN TRAFFIC AND STOPPED PRESS EXCELORATER PEDAL NOTHING THEN IT LUNGES FORWARD .FRIGHTNING AT TIME ESPECIALLY IN TRAFFIC. I HAVE OIL CHANGES BETWEEN 4 TO 5000 MILES AND IT IS USING OIL NO LEAKS ITS GOING SOMEWHERE. HAS APPROX 65300 MILES. HAPPENS PERIODRADIALLY THE HESITASION.EVERY SINCE I HAVE OWNED THE CAR.

First I backed up into a pole, because the warning sensor did not warn me. Even while changing lanes it doesn't always warn..The panoramic sunroof detached while driving . I had to pull over . I had to put car in shop for just about a month. And then had to return it because the engine light came on . I have had to take it to the shop several times and I've only owned a year. My navigation never worked . Won't update. And blue link doesn't work right . Even though I pay it out of pocket. And now for no reason it smells like gas badly. Can't take it in because it's my only car and they never have a loaner or rental available. I've been to several hyndai dealerships.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND HEARD A RATTLING SOUND ON THE ENGINE THEN THE CAR TURNED OFF. I HAD IT TOWED 53 MILES TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THE CAR NEEDS A NEW ENGINE AND THAT THEY WERE GOING TO SEND A REQUEST TO HYUNDAI FOR THE ENGINE. Sonata started having problems with less than 50,000 total miles. The accelerator is flawed and the vehicle cannot keep speed when traveling uphill or get to speed efficiently. The vehicle jerks for a few seconds when pressing the gas and the engine revs but the vehicle does not accelerate like it should. This has almost caused me to have accidents multiple times when pulling out into traffic. The check engine light came on when this started occurring and has been on ever since. I'm having the hyundai dealership take a look at the vehicle and see if there is anything that can be done.
THE CONNECTING-ROD BEARINGS IN THE ENGINE WORE OUT PREMATURELY. MY CAR ONLY HAS 75,000 MILES ON IT AND DOES NOT COME UP ON A VIN SEARCH AT HYUNDAI AS A RECALL VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH IT HAS THE 1.6 GAMMA MOTOR IN IT. THE DESCRIPTION FROM HYUNDAI OF THE ISSUE IS THE FOLLOWING, "ABNORMAL KNOCKING NOISES FROM THE ENGINE, REDUCED POWER OR HESITATION, ILLUMINATION OF THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT OR THE ENGINE OIL-PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT; OR A BURNING SMELL, OIL LEAKS, OR SMOKE." THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO US WHEN THE CAR DIED. WE TOOK IT IMMEDIATELY TO OUR LOCAL MECHANIC WHO WAS SHOCKED AT HOW WORN THE BEARING WEAR AND THE LARGE AMOUNT OF METAL SHAVINGS IN THE OIL.
HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PIPE IS LEAKING FUEL UNDER THE HOOD
VEHICLE DRIVER RECEIVED AUDIO AND VISUAL ALERT WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH RATE OF SPEED THAT THE "HYBRID WARNING FAILED AND TO CHECK HYBRID SYSTEM-TURN ENGINE OFF" AND TO PULL OVER SAFELY. HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE LOCKED AND LOST ALL POWER MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO SAFELY EXIT THE INTERSTATE ALMOST INSTANTLY AFTER THE ALARM. UPON RESEARCH, I MANAGE A LARGE VEHICLE FLEET, WE HAVE MULTIPLE OTHER SONATA'S WITH THE SAME ISSUE-AND THERE IS A TSB FOR THIS KNOWN SAFETY FAILURE (17-HC-003-1).
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOSS POWER STEERING ASSIST AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME HARD TO MANEUVER. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND THE VEHICLE REGAINED POWER STEERING FUNCTIONALITY HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS FIRST TOWED TO THE RESIDENCE AND THEN TOWED TO HYUNDAI INLAND EMPIRE (25072 REDLANDS BOULEVARD, LOMA LINDA, CA 92354, (909)-796-1600) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE DEALER PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST THAT LOCATED A FAILURE CODE AT THE POWER STEERING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,000.
MY FUEL DOOR LOCKED SHUT AND COULD NOT BE UNLOCKED.. HAD TO PRY IT OPEN TO REFUEL AND NOW IT WON'T CLOSE AGAIN. ALSO AROUND THAT TIME MY PAINT STARTED TO CHIP FOR NO REASON ON THE ROOF AND HOOD
ENGINE IS KNOCKING AROUND 113,000 MILES. THIS IS CRAZY BECAUSE IT IS LOW MILEAGE.
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR, THE POWER STEERING LOCKED WHILE I WAS ON 55M/H. THE DASHBOARD HAD THE STEERING SIGN ON. THE CAR WAS EVENTUALLY TOWED HOME BECAUSE IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I TRIED THE CAR THE FOLLOWING DAY AND THE CAR WAS FINE AND NO SIGN ON THE DASHBOARD. I TOOK THE CAR ON AN ERRAND AND FEW MINS LATER, THE SAME INCIDENT OCCURRED. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO AN AUTO WORKSHOP WHO DATAMINED IT IS A MANUFACTURE SAFETY ISSUE WITH SENSOR. AS AT THIS MOMENT, THE CAR IS UNSAFE AND VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. I AM REALLY CONCERNED ON WHY THE PUBLIC HAVE NOT BEEN NOTIFIED
The car caught fire. I only had the car for 3 weeks. I had just started the car for work. There were no warning lights on. If some unknown guy have not told me to get out my car i would had died.
THE CAR HAS FAILED TO START ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. I ENTER THE CAR, PRESS THE BREAK AND THE PUSH TO START BUTTON, AND THE CAR FAILS TO IGNITE. IT HAPPENS NORMALLY WHEN IT IS COLDER, BUT WILL STILL DO IT WHEN IT IS WARMER OUT.
WE BOUGHT OUR SONATA IN 2017, SINCE THEN IT HAS GONE INTO "LIMP MODE" (WHILE IN MOTION EVERY TIME) THREE TIMES. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED AND THEY CLAIMED IT NEEDED A "SOFTWARE UPDATE". THE UPDATE DIDN'T LAST TOO LONG BECAUSE IT WENT INTO "LIMP MODE" ONCE AGAIN. WE TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP (AS INSTRUCTED BY THE DEALERSHIP) AND THEY REFUSED TO PROVIDE SERVICES UNTIL A DIAGNOSIS FEE WAS PROVIDED; EVEN THOUGH THEY TOLD US TO BRING IT BACK IF IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND THEY WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM AT NO COST. WE REFUSED TO PAY THE FEE SINCE THEY HAD TOLD US THEY WOULD FIX IT FOR FREE AND THE CAR SAT FOR ABOUT A MONTH OR TWO WHILE WE USED MY HUSBANDS PARENTS VEHICLE (SINCE IT IS OUR ONLY VEHICLE). WE EVENTUALLY DROVE IT TO A THIRD PARTY MECHANIC (WHILE BEING JERKED AROUND BECAUSE THE CAR WOULD LOSE POWER AND GOING 20MPH IN A 35MPH ZONE) AND HE CHANGED OUT THE KNOCKER ROD AND HEAD GASKETS AFTER STATING IT WAS THE ISSUE AFTER HOOKING IT UP TO A DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER AND GETTING CODES TO CHANGE THOSE SPECIFIC ITEMS. IT SEEMED TO WORK FOR ABOUT FIVE MONTHS, UNTIL RECENTLY WHEN MY HUSBAND AND I WERE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY (IN TRAFFIC) WHEN IT WENT INTO "LIMP MODE" ONCE MORE. THE DEALERSHIP DECIDED TO TAKE THE CAR IN TO LOOK AT IT, PROVIDED A RENTAL CAR AND INDICATED THE CAR NEEDED A NEW ENGINE BEFORE SERVICE (BECAUSE IT KEEPS GOING INTO LIMP MODE). THEY CALLED US YESTERDAY TO LET US KNOW THAT IT JUST NEEDED ANOTHER "SOFTWARE UPDATE". I HAVE BEEN TOLD SOFTWARE UPDATES DON'T RESOLVE THE ISSUE, IT PUSHES THE PROBLEM BACK AND IT WILL REOCCUR. I HAVE ALREADY CALLED AND FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE DEALERSHIPS CONSUMER AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT (THAT THE SERVICE MANAGER FROM THE DEALERSHIP GAVE US) AND AM WAITING FOR A CALL BACK. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE. I HAVE A TODDLER AND AM PREGNANT AND FEAR FOR MY FAMILIES SAFETY WHILE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE.
