THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO HIS RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ON ANOTHER OCCASION WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE FAILURE RECURRED WITH AN ABNORMAL NOISE. THE VEHICLE STALLED AND WAS NOT DRIVABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED OXMOOR HYUNDAI (8107 SHELBYVILLE RD, LOUISVILLE, KY 40222; (502) 894-3400) AND MADE THE DEALER AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 111,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT INTERMITTENTLY, THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION AFTER BEING RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER NOR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.
VEHICLE ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING WHILE DRIVING AND VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED DUE TO THE DECREASE IN ENGINE SPEED. IF I DIDNT QUICKLY PULL THE VEHICLE TO THE GRASS I WOULD'VE BEEN HIT. I COULD NOT DRIVE MORE THAN 10MPH AFTER THE DECREASE IN ENGINE SPEED.
FIRST I GOT MY TIRES CHANGE 2 ON THE BACK AND THE TPMS HAS BEEN ON SINCE THEM , AND DRIVING FROM WORK IN THE INDUSTRIAL PART OF TOWN WHERE TRAFFIC IS HIGH HEAVY AND FAST DRIVING IN ALL THE MY CAR JUST QUIT WHILE DRIVING AT 2:30AM GETTING OFF WORK, SO A GUY I WORK WITH SEEN ME SLOWING DOWN AND GAVE ME A BOOST AND AGAIN BEFORE I MADE IT HOME IT QUIT AGAIN AND I LIVE 15 MIN FROM AND WHEN I STOPPEDI WAS ABOUT 9MIN AWAY. LIGHTS STARTED FLICKERING AND THE CAR SHUTDOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF TTAFFIC. SO I BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY FOR ALMOST $200 AND THAT DIDN'T WORK IT STARTED FOR A MOMENT AND WENT DEAD IN TRAFFIC AGAIN .
CAR HESITATES WHEN ACCELERATING; LOSS OF POWER; NON-RESPONSIVE WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE
I OWN A 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA AND I OWN IT SINCE BEGINNING. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE KEY FEATURES SUCH AS BLIND SPOT DETECTION (BSD), ALONG WITH ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM (ABS) AND CAR SKIDDING PREVENTION SYSTEM STOPPED TO WORK IN MY CAR. I CONTACTED HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP (WITH MY CAR CLOCKING ABOUT 62,650 MILES) AND I WAS TOLD THAT SUCH IMPORTANT SAFETY FEATURES ARE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. WHEN I CONTACTED HYUNDAI USA CORPORATE OFFICE, I WAS TOLD THAT SUCH KEY SAFETY FEATURE CAN GO WRONG ANY TIME WHICH WAS SUCH A SHOCKING NEWS FOR ME AND MY FAMILY. MY CAR DOES NOT DETECT ANY VEHICLE WHICH IS COMING/PASSING THROUGH AT HIGH SPEED, AND THE REAL WORST THING IS THAT IT'S ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM (ABS) AND SKIDDING WARNING SYSTEM ARE NOT AT ALL FUNCTIONING WHICH COMPROMISE THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY. I AM REALLY CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY AND OTHER PEOPLE TRAVELING IN DIFFERENT CAR AT THE SAME TIME. MY FAMILY'S SAFETY MEANS NOTHING FOR DEALERSHIP OR TP HYUNDAI CORPORATION BUT THEY ARE JUST CONCERNED TO BILL ME AND MY FAMILY HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS FOR THEIR FAULTY PARTS/SAFETY SYSTEM AT THIS PANDEMIC TIME.
2015 HYUNDAI SONATA ECO MODEL WITH 1.6 TURBO ENGINE BEGAN SUDDENLY SHIVER AND SHAKE WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. ENGINE WAS LOSING POWER ALL OF A SUDDEN AND WILL NOT ACCELERATE. LUCKILY THERE WERE NO CARS BEHIND US. TOOK THE CAR TO DEALERSHIP THEY SAID THERE WERE MANY MISFIRES AND 2 CYLINDERS BLEW UP. HYUNDAI DOESN'T MAKE ANYMORE LONG BLOCK ENGINES AND ASKING ME EXTRA $$ TO GET THE SHORT BLOCK ENGINES INSTEAD. THEY OFFERED 50% COST OF REPAIR WHICH WILL COST ME $4,500 OUT OF POCKET. IT'S BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 2 MONTHS NOW AND THEY HAVEN'T FIXED IT YET.

SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER STEERING WHILE ON THE INTERSTATE. NEARLY HAD SEVERAL ACCIDENTS TRYING TO GET HOME. I AM A 100% DISABLED VETERAN SUFFERING END STAGE KIDNEY FAILURE A% DAY/WEEK DIALYSIS. I CAN NOT SAFELY DRIVE THIS VEHICLE WITHOUT THE POWER STEERING AND AM ALARMED AT ALL THE WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASH THAT HAVE ILLUMINATED. THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE MGR 1ST TOLD ME THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE. I REMINDED HIM OF THE PANORAMIC ROOF RECALL THEY DID. NOW HE SAYS MY CAR HAS NO RECALLS FOR THE POWER STEERING ISSUE CAUSE IT WAS MANUFACTURED IN JULY OF 2014. I PURCHASED IT NEW IN 2015 WITH ONLY 13 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. VEHICLE STARTED SLOWLY CRANKING FOR A WEEK OR SO AND THEN WHILE DRIVING IN A 55MPH ZONE, SPEED SUDDENLY DROPPED TO 20 MPH WITH CHOKING TO THE POINT OF PULLING TO A SAFE AREA AND HAVING CAR TOWED 11-4-2020
WHEN TRYING TO SET MY CRUISE CONTROL A MESSAGE POPS UP ON MY DASH SAYING SCC CONDITIONS NOT MET.
VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE WHILE PARKED AND UNOCCUPIED. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH THE FIRE COULD HAVE ORIGINATED AT THE BASE OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT, CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE AND BODY.
THIS IS OUR DAUGHTER'S CAR. YESTERDAY (NOV 1) HER CAR STALLED, WITH THE WARNING "HYBRID SYSTEM WARNING! SAFELY STOP AND DO NOT DRIVE". THIS TIME SHE WAS PARKED IN A PARKING LOT AND THE WARNING MESSAGE CAME ON WHEN SHE TRIED TO START THE VEHICLE. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME IT'S HAPPENED. ON PREVIOUS OCCASIONS THE DEALER'S TECHNICIANS DID NOT EVEN RECORD ANYTHING IN HER MAINTENANCE RECORDS. SHE UNDERSTANDS THIS IS NOT AN UNUSUAL PROBLEM, WITH MANY HYUNDAI HYBRID OWNERS OF THAT SAME 2015 MODEL YEAR, AS WELL AS OTHER YEARS, REPORTING SIMILAR PROBLEMS. IS THIS SOMETHING THAT IS BEING LOOKED INTO? THE DEALER PERSONNEL JUST SORT OF DISMISS THIS AS NO BIG DEAL.
El motor 2.4 del Sonata 2015,2016 tiene un desgaste irregular de las bielas suena al encenderlo aunque tenga sus mantenimientos al dia.Se de muchos autos con ese motor que terminan dañando el motor sin importar el millaje.Se de 1 con 52,000 millas que daño el motor. The 2.4 engine of the Sonata 2015,2016 has irregular wear on the connecting rods, it makes a noise when it is turned on even if it has its maintenance up to date. I know of many cars with that engine that end up damaging the engine regardless of the mileage. I know of 1 with 52,000 miles what damage the motor.
I was driving to work as I normally would from the University I attend. About half way to my destination the check engine light illuminated and right when I was about to find a safe place to stop the car abruptly stopped in the middle of the Highway and stalled on one of the most dangerous highways in the U.S. being US I-20. I almost immediately got hit from behind however a few vehicles behind me did get involved into an accident due to the my car stopping abruptly with little warning. I called hyundai immediately and asked for a tow driver however the wait time was excessive and I had to go to work. I was able to start the car after 20 minutes, but it was in limp mode and I pulled off to the side of the road and had to uber to work. The next day I had got a tow truck to pick up my car and take it to the dealership where they said the car had accidentally triggered the knock sensor by mistake and replaced it free of charge. However the very next day it happened again after driving about 30 miles. And I took it back to the dealer they offered the same thing a replacement sensor. When I did some research and the car actually needed a new Engine after a recall had been placed. Hyundai refused to replace the engine after the knock sensor deployed. This is Hyundai's issue and it needs to be addressed. I was forced to put the car on the side of my house for the time being and get a rental until I could afford another vehicle. This is very disappointing from a consumers point of view. I filed with the extended warranty campaign TXXC and got denied due to the amount of miles on the vehicle. However there was no warning before the engine failed. The car was very well maintained and had regular Oil changes with full synthetic oil every 5k miles. No precursors to the engine failing occurred, like a knocking or jerking or anything. This is an issue that hyundai need to address. I am very disappointed. WHEN ENGINE IS RUNNING OIL LEAKS FROM ENGINE AND ON TO EXHAUST CAUSING SMOKE TO COME OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND THE SMELL OF BURNING OIL TO ENTER THE CABIN.
“Hybrid System Warning” 2 years ago last fall I was out of town & received the above warning - car would not start - car had to be towed - cost was over $500 - repair was a battery - paid out of pocket I believe but all this can be pulled from dealership on memorial in tulsa ok Last fall same thing happened - car would not start with same warning light - towed again & besides being out the tow bill all was repaired I keep getting this alarm that randomly flashes on my screen since last oil change (I asked dealership to research reason for alarm & they found nothing) while driving. I dont want to get stranded again & just want it fixed!!!! I have no where else to turn but to submit a report to hopefully get someone to research this for me. If you need documentation I can get something printed from dealership.
It started with the engine stalling, then a pinging noise. Then the engine stalled permanently, and the noise in the engine became louder. The engine now has no power. Unfortunately I am unable to trade or sell the car. It currently holds no value, as is. I have contacted Hyundai to make them aware of this problem.

THE TECHNICIAN LOOKED AT THE SENSOR AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THE SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
WHILE DRIVING ON A BUSY FOUR LANE I ENTERED A TURN LANE TO CROSS TRAFFIC. IMMEDIATELY AFTER I ENGAGED THE ACCELERATOR THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER AND STEERING, WITH A ALARM STATING 'HYBRID SYSTEM WARNING-DO NOT DRIVE'. ONE VEHICLE NARROWLY MISSED HITTING MY CAR, (AS IT COMPLETELY LOST ALL POWER AND STEERING AND LEFT ME STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF ON COMING TRAFFIC). RESEARCHING TODAY I SEE THIS IS COMMON BETWEEN 2012-2016 ESPECIALLY. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION THAT WAS NARROWLY AVOIDED.

DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT DROVE THROUGH AN INTERSECTION AND ANOTHER VEHICLE SWERVED TO AVOID CRASHING INTO THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE REGAIN BRAKING FUNCTIONALITY SOON AFTER THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS GIVEN A CASE NUMBER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 67,000.
ON 8/27/20 WHEN I RETURNED HOME FROM RUNNING ERRANDS, I BACKED INTO MY DRIVEWAY. THIS WAS AROUND 3PM AND I DIDN'T USE THE CAR FOR THE REST OF THE DAY. THE NEXT MORNING I WENT OUT AROUND 3AM TO LEAVE FOR WORK. AS I STARTED TO PULL OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, I HEARD DRAGGING AND STOPPED THE CAR. WHEN I GOT OUT TO LOOK, MY FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE WAS FLAT. THERE WAS NO INDICATION ON MY DASH AT THAT TIME. MY HUSBAND CAME OUT TO FILL THE TIRE FOR ME AND WE ONLY HEARD HISSING AIR. HE THOUGHT THAT IT WAS SO FLAT THAT IT WAS OFF OF THE RIM SO HE JACKED IT UP TO TAKE THE PRESSURE OFF OF THE TIRE. THE AIR WAS STILL BLOWING OUT OF THE TIRE SO HE REMOVED THE TIRE TO CHECK IT AND FOUND THAT THE ENTIRE THING WAS TORN ON THE INSIDE FROM A BROKEN COIL SPRING. I DON'T KNOW IF IT HAPPENED AS I BACKED INTO THE DRIVEWAY THE DAY BEFORE OR AS I WAS LEAVING FOR WORK THAT MORNING. ALL I KNOW IS THAT MY CAR HAS UNDER 63,000 MILES ON IT AND IF THIS HAD HAPPENED ON A HIGHWAY, WHO KNOWS WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED TO ME.

WHILE DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY CAR BEGAN TO SMOKE FROM TAILPIPE AND BEGAN TO LOSE ACCELERATION WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. VEHICLES CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. TOOK VEHICLE TO NEAREST AUTO PART RETAIL STORE FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. ERROR CODE P0014 CAME UP ALONG WITH 2 OTHER CODES. TOOK VEHICLE TO AUTO REPAIR SHOP. ADVISED THE EXHAUST SOLONOID HAD TO BE REPLACED ALONG WITH SPARK PLUGS AND GASKETS DUE TO BURNING FROM THETA 2.0L TURBO OIL FEED LINE. CAR NOT DRIVABLE BACK TO HOUSTON WHERE I RESIDE. WE HAD TO FIND ADDITIONAL TIME TO STAY AT HOTEL AND WELL AS PAY FOR TRANSPORTATION BACK HOME. MY CAR IS STILL IN SAN ANTONIO. RECALL WAS REPAIRED LESS THAN 6 MONTHS AGO AND CAR NOW HAS THE SAME ISSUE.

THE CONTACT WAS CALLED BACK THE NEXT DAY AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE TURN SIGNAL ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

WAS DRIVING ON SUNRISE HIGHWAY DOING ABOUT 55 MPH WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR START LOSING ALL POWER ACCELERATION AND WOULD NOT GO PASS 20/30 MPH. WAS ABLE TO GET TO SIDE OF HIGHWAY. BUT NOW CAR HAS ISSUES PICKING UP ACCELERATION. COULD HAVE CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT.

THE RECALL OF THE ECU FLAMMABLE SOFTWARE RECALLED WAS FIXED AT HYUNDAI TYSINGER DEALERSHIP IN HAMPTON VA JULY 2020 WHEN I RETRIEVED THE CAR THE TPMS SENSOR WAS ILLUMINATED THEY ASSURED ME THE SOFTWARE PKG THEY UPGRADED AND OTHER SERVICES PROVIDED WERE NOT RELATED TO THAT HAPPENING. I HAD A SECOND OPTION AT RNR HAMPTON VA WHO ENSURED ME THAT REPLACING EACH TIRE VALVE WOULD FIX THE ISSUE. THEY CHARGED ME 400 ON 9/16/2020 FOR THAT SERVICE WHEN THE CAR WAS PICKED UP THE TPMS SENSOR NEEDED TO RE-SET ITSELF AND DRIVING IT WITH IT WAS FINE - IT WOULD ASK TO PROMPT ME TO RE-SET IT AND / OR DO IT AUTOMATICALLY THE NEXT 24 HOURS - IT DID NOT DO THAT - IT IS JAN 18 2021 I JUST HAD MY DIAGNOSTIC FOR THE TPMS SENSOR FOR THIS 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA AT HALL AUTOMOTIVE THEY ARE SAYING ALL FOUR VALVES AND SOFTWARE THAT THE VALVES PLACED WITH RNR WERE NOT COMPLAINT WITH HYUNDAI SOFTWARE AND SHOULD OF KNOWN THAT - IT STATES THAT PROHIBITION OF 49 USC 30122 ARE TO BE INTEGRATED AND COMPATIBLE BEFORE PROCEEDING THE DEALERSHIP - RNR AND ORIGINAL DEALERSHIP SHOULD ALL ME ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS 2000 ERROR

I TOOK THE CAR TO AND AUTO PARTS STORE THAT HAS A CODE READER AND SAW THE MANIFOLD RUNNER CONTROL WAS INDICATING A FAULT. THE CODE, P200A IS DESCRIBED IN A HYUNDAI TECHNICAL SERVICE REPORT FOR 2015 - 2016 SONATAS HOWEVER AFTER TAKING THE CAR INTO NEW PORT RICHEY HYUNDAI I WAS TOLD THAT THE SERVICE BULLETIN DIDN'T APPLY TO MY VEHICLE. IT IS A DANGER TO DRIVE WITH THE CONTROL UNIT FAILING AND MAY AT ANY TIME CAUSE THE CAR TO DECELLARATE.

AND LOST ALL POWER. OIL LIGHT CAME ON FOR 1 SEC AND THEN TURNED OFF THE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THEN WENT OUT AND T HEN ROLLED TO A STOP. CAR TRIED TO START BUT WOULD NOT START. HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO MY HOUSE BECAUSE DEALER WAS CLOSED AND THEN TOWED TO DEALERSHIP 2 DAYS AGO STILL HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM THEM AND I HAVE NO CAR TO GET BACK TO WORK. MY CAR HAS JUST TURNED 70,000 MILES AND SHOULD NOT BE GOING THROUGH THIS.

MY VALVES HAVE BEEN RATTLING UPON EXCELLERATION OR CLIMBING A HILL. I TOOK IT TO HYUNDAI TO GET A DIAGNOSTIC. WHILE WAITING THE SALES BUZZARDS STARTED CIRCLING. AFTER FINALLY BREAKING AWAY FROM THEM I WENT TO GET RESULTS OF MY TEST. THE TECHNICHAN TOLD ME I NEEDED A NEW MOTOR AND GOOD THING I WAS TRADING IT IN. I TOLD HIM I WASNT TRADING IT IN AND THEN HE SAID I NEED TO DO A FEW MORE TESTS. OF COURSE WHEN HE CAME BACK IT WAS A DIFFERENT STORY. I NEEDED PLUGS. MY CAR STILL HAS SAME PROBLEM. THEY ARE WAITING AND HOPING MY WARRANTY RUNS OUT IN 10000 MORE MILES. WHY ISNT THERE A RECALL ON THIS MOTOR??????

My son was driving my car home from work and while waiting at a light, he went to go in the car would not move the engine. He just died right there in the middle of the street on him. He was stuck in the middle of the street for quite some time waiting for a tow truck because it was way too dangerous for him to get out of the car. It was during traffic hour. The car only had like 48,000 miles on it. After repaired by the dealer car started having other issues with the engine light coming on with intake manifold but dealer claimed that part is not covered, which that part is part of the engine that they supposedly replaced.
