WIND DEFLECTOR PREVIOUSLY FIXED TWICE BEFORE VIA RECALLS CAME LOOSE AGAIN. I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE WITH THE SUNROOF OPEN. HAD TO HOLD IT DOWN TO PREVENT DAMAGE UNTIL I COULD GET OFF THE FREEWAY SAFELY. HAD TO MANUALLY HOLD IT DOWN AS I CLOSED THE ROOF WHILE OUTSIDE OF THE CAR. *TR
DRIVING ON HIGHWAY 70 MPH, ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON BLINKING, CAR WENT INTO SAFETY MODE, LOSS ALL POWER, CAR GETTING TOWED TO DEALER, STILL UNDER 100,000 MILE WARRANTY I HOPE, CAR HAS NO POWER NOW, ENGINE SHAKES, WE HAVE HAD SINCE 30,000 MILES AND HAVE ALWAYS TAKEN CARE OF IT. *TR
THE ENGINE IS KNOCKING WHILE TRYING TO PICK UP SPEED
MY 19 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING HOME FROM THE STORE AND THE CAR SHUT DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING ALL POWER WENT OUT STEERING BECAME HARD AND BRAKES BECAME HARD. AND SOMETHING SMELLED AS IF IT WAS BURNING. WE ARE THE SECOND OWNERS OF THE CAR AND BARELY DRIVE IT. IT WAS PURCHASED 2 YEARS AGO AND REGULAR MAINTENANCE IS KEPT ON THE CAR. UNFORTUNATELY WE DON'T HAVE A WARRANTY ON THE CAR ANY LONGER AND STILL MAKING PAYMENTS. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND COULD HAVE CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT AND AS WELL AS COST MY DAUGHTER HER LIFE IF SHE DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO CONTROL THE CAR WHEN EVERYTHING SHUT DOWN IN TRAFFIC. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH THE CHECK ENGINE AND BATTERY WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART AND WAS TOWED TO HIS RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY TAKEN TO PEACOCK HYUNDAI COLUMBIA, 310 GREYSTONE BLVD, COLUMBIA, SC 29210, FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY INCLUDED IN EIGHT RECALLS, AND THAT ALL THE RECALLS WERE REPAIRED. THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE WAS ALSO REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 88,738.

VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH HANDS-FREE CALLING AND VOICE ACCESS TO CALLING LOCATED ON STEERING WHEEL. THESE FUNCTIONS DO NOT WORK UNLESS THE RADIO IS FIRST TURNED ON. IN ADDITION, CALLS CANNOT BE MADE FROM THE CONSOLE BY PRESSING THE PHONE BUTTON UNLESS THE RADIO IS ACTIVATED FIRST - NO ACTIONS OCCUR WHEN FIRST PRESSING THE STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS OR THE CONSOLE PHONE BUTTON, THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS IT CONSTITUTES A DISTRACTION FOR THE DRIVE IN ANY EMERGENCY SITUATION WHILE THE VEHICLE IS MOVING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO SUNTRUP HYUNDAI DEALER (5926 SOUTH LINDBERGH BOULEVARD, SAINT LOUIS, MO 63123, (314) 892-2552) TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST PERFORMED. THE MECHANIC LOCATED THE FAILURE CODE AT THE VEHICLE FRONT LEFT AXLE SPLINE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V784000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000.
The contact's daughter owns a 2015 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that her daughter's vehicle was consuming an excessive amount of oil. The check engine warning light was illuminated. Her daughter was taking the vehicle to an independent mechanic weekly to top off the engine oil. The same mechanic also replaced the spark plugs on two separate occasions however, the failure persisted. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would suddenly fail to accelerate above 25 MPH with the check engine warning light illuminated. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer was informed of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. IN 2019 I HAD MY COMPUTER REPLACED WITH LESS THAN 60K MILES! I HAD EVERY LIGHT COME UP ON THE DASH BOARD. I'VE BEEN COMPLAINING TO THE DEALER SHIP ABOUT MY CAR RUNNING OUT OF OIL, THE ENGINE MAKES WEIRD NOISES AS IT CURRENTLY HAS LESS THAN 80K MILES ON IT. I HAD MY OIL CHANGED ON APRIL 15TH. 2020 6 DAYS LATER MY CARS ENGINE WAS MAKING NOISES CHECKED MY OIL AND I WAS DOWN ALMOST 2 QUARTS IN LESS THAN A WEEK. I BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW AND HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT ISSUES WITH IT. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT TOO MUCH OIL WAS ADDED TO THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000.
EXCESSIVE OIL BURNING KNOCKING SOUND STALLS WHILE DRIVING
DRIVING HOME AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THIS ALERT GOES OFF. BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING, PULL OVER NOW. CHECK BRAKES. CAR SLOLWS SHUTS OFF AND I'M STUCK ON THE ROAD. HAD TO GET A TOW AND NOW CAR WON'T START. SHOWS SAME WARNING WHEN I TRY TO START IT.

MY 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA HAS A PROBLEM OF STEERING LOCK FOR 1 SECOND WHILE DRIVING ON ROAD WHEN TURNING LEFT /RIGHT. ON MARCH 3RD I WAS DRIVING ON GA-317 S AND WANT TO TAKE RIGHT TURN ON GA-120.AS SOON AS I TOOK THE TURN AND WAS ABOUT TO MERGE IN THE LANE THEN SUDDENLY MY CAR'S STEERING GOT LOCKED FOR A WHILE (AROUND 1 SECOND) AND UNLOCKED AGAIN AUTOMATICALLY AND MY CAR'S COMPUTER SYSTEM ALSO RESTARTEDBLUETOOTH DISCONECTED AND RADIO STARTED LOKE WHEN YOU START THE CAR .ANY FURTHER DELAY IN UNLOCKING THE STEERING COULD CAUSE SERIOUS ACCCIDENT. WHILE DRIVING ON A SECONDARY HIGHWAY, THE HOOD OF MY VEHICLE RELEASED AND SLAMMED INTO THE WINDSHIELD CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE CAR.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JOSEPH AIRPORT HYUNDAI LOCATED AT (1220 W NATIONAL RD, VANDALIA, OH 45377) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS P1326 (MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP) FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 143,000. THE VIN PROVIDED WAS INCORRECT.
THE WEEK OF 2/3/20 I REPORTED MY VEHICLE'S LOSE OF POWER AT INTERSTATE SPEEDS AND THE ILLUMINATION & CHIMING OF THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY RAN ENGINE DIAGNOSTICS AND BEGAN AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. ON 3/2/20 THE VEHICLE AGAIN LOST POWER ON THE INTERSTATE. AGAIN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY DID THE T3G CAMPAIGN. YESTERDAY 3/17/20 THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND REMAINED ON FOR 5 STARTS OF THE ENGINE. THE DEALER COULD NOT REPLICATE THE SYMPTOM ON 3/18/20. THE VEHICLE FAILED THE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST BY 363 MILES AND THE DEALER IS SUBMITTING A CLAIM FOR A NEW ENGINE. THIS MODEL YEAR CAR HAS SERIOUS DEFECTS AND MAY NOT BE SAFE TO DRIVE.
BRAKES AND ROTORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED. NOTICED THAT IT'S TAKING LONGER FOR ME TO STOP ALONG WITH SQUEALING OF FRONT BRAKES.
ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION: MORE THAN 1 QUARTER EVERY 1,000 MILES BUT THE MECHANIC DID NOT FIND ANY LEAKING. THE VEHICLE HAS TOTAL 55,000 MILES AND I DRIVE ABOUT 1000 MILES/MONTH ON FREEWAY AND LOCAL STREETS. I ALSO FOUND MANY REPORTS ON THE WEBSITES AND MANY HYUNDAI DEALERS HAD TESTED THE OIL CONSUMPTION AND WAITING TO THE RESPONSE FROM HYUNDAI HEADQUARTERS.
THE CAR SUDDENLY LOSES THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE MAKING IT VERY STRESSFUL TO DRIVE AS YOU ARE NOT CERTAIN WHEN THIS WILL HAPPEN. AT FIRST IT IS INTERMITTENT BUT EVENTUALLY IT SIMPLY STAYS THAT WAY ONCE THE ISSUE BEGINS WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING, HENCE THE CAR WILL HAVE AN ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TIME RETAINING SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY OR ACCELERATING AT A LIGHT OR AS YOU MERGE ONTO HIGHWAYS. CHANGING THE DRIVER MODE TO SPORT APPEARS TO HAVE A POSITIVE EFFECT AS IT CAUSES MUCH MORE AGGRESSIVE GEAR SHIFTING BUT IT THEN STAYS IN THE SAME GEAR FOR TOO LONG REACHING RPS THAT FEEL UNSAFE FOR THE ENGINE ITSELF. THIS IS NOW THE THIRD TIE THIS HAPPENS AND IT IS ALSO THE MORE SEVERE MANIFESTATION OF THE PROBLEM,. THE FIRST TIME THE DEALER ASSERTED THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO DIAGNOSE IT BUT RETURNED THE CAR WITHOUT THE PROBLEM. THE SECOND TIME IT HAPPENED THEY APOLOGIZED AND SAID THAT IT WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE ENGINES COMPUTER ALGORITHM, THAT APPARENTLY THE COMPUTER LEARNS FROM THE WAY IN WHICH ONE DRIVES AND SO IS ADAPTIVE BUT THAT SOMETIMES IT CAN BECOME CORRUPTED. THIS THIRD TIME THE DEALER TOLD ME IT WOULD TAKE ONLY A COUPLE OF HOURS TO FIX BUT NOW IT HAS BEEN THREE DAYS AND THEY HAVE NOT CALLED ME BACK. THEY DID LEAVE A MESSAGE THAT APPARENTLY THEY ARE ORDERING PARTS AND WILL BE FIXING IT. MY ISSUE NOW IS THAT ITS A THIRD TIME AND IT IS CLEAR THAT SOMETHING IN THE CAR IS DEFECTIVE AND NOW WE ARE GOING TO BE ALMOST COMPLETELY PARANOID OF IT HAPPENING AGAIN AT A CRITICALLY DANGEROUS INTERSECTION OR MERGE AREA. WE HAVE BEEN LUCKY SO FAR BUT IT IS A FAMILY CAR AND I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THE CAR ANYMORE GIVEN THE REPEATING NATURE OF THIS PROBLEM AND THE LACK OF INFORMATION OUT THERE FORM THE MANUFACTURER AS TO WHAT EXACTLY IS GOING ON.
WHEN I HAVE THE "LANE DEPARTURE" RUNNING IT CANCELS OUT THE "BLIND SPOT DETECTION". THE DEALER HAS RECALIBRATED THE SENSORS TWICE AN FINALLY TOLD ME I COULDN'T OPERATE BOTH OF THOSE TWO ITEMS AND THE SAME TIME. THIS OCCURRED GOING DOWN THE ROAD, CITY OR HIGHWAY OR CITY STREETS.
2015 HYUNDAI SONATA SE CAUGHT ON FIRE AFTER BEING PARKED IN APARTMENT BUILDING PARKING LOT ON 1/12/20. CAR WAS SERVICED AT CERTIFIED HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP REPAIR SHOP ON 1/10/20 FOR RECALL WORK AND TO INVESTIGATE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT THAT WOULD COME ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY. REPAIR SHOP CLAIMED THERE WAS AN OIL LEAK AND RECOMMENDED AN OIL CHANGE/VALVE COVER GASKET REPLACEMENT (LAST OIL CHANGE JUST UNDER 5000 MILES PRIOR). CAR BEGAN SMELLING AS IF SOMETHING WAS BURNING LATER AFTER LEAVING REPAIR SHOP, AS WELL AS THE NEXT DAY, SO SHOP WAS CALLED BACK ON 1/11/20 AND MESSAGE WAS LEFT THAT IT NEEDED TO BE BROUGHT BACK IN ON MONDAY MORNING (1/13/20). OIL PRESSURE LIGHT DID NOT COME BACK ON, HOWEVER, NOR DID ANY OTHER WARNING LIGHTS. CAR WAS DRIVEN SPARINGLY IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD PRIMARILY FOR WORK PURPOSES OVER THE WEEKEND AND PARKED AFTER APPROX. 12 MINUTE COMMUTE HOME FROM WORK ON SUNDAY EVENING (1/12/20). I RETURNED A LITTLE OVER AN HOUR LATER TO DISCOVER THE SITUATION AND LEARNED THAT THE FIRE DEPT. HAD ALREADY COME AND GONE. IMMEDIATELY CALLED POLICE/FIRE DEPT. TO FIND OUT WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND WAS INFORMED THAT NEIGHBORS HAD CALLED THE POLICE DUE TO SEEING IT ON FIRE ABOUT 10-15 MINUTES AFTER I HAD PARKED THE CAR. I AM UNCLEAR OF THE EXACT NATURE OF THE PROBLEM, THOUGH OIL APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN LEAKING (AND BURNING - SOME LIGHT SMOKE WAS VISIBLE UNDER HOOD ON 1/11 & 1/12) AFTER REPAIRS, AND FIRE IS SAID TO HAVE STARTED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. INSURANCE COMPANY WAS IMMEDIATELY NOTIFIED AS WELL AND DEEMED THE VEHICLE A TOTAL LOSS AND TOWED IT AWAY FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION AS TO CAUSE OF FIRE ON 1/14/20. DEALERSHIP WHERE CAR WAS SERVICED 2 DAYS PRIOR IS OF CONCERN SINCE CAR APPEARED IN WORSE CONDITION AFTER REPAIRS THAN BEFORE, BUT I AM UNCERTAIN OF THEIR LIABILITY IN THIS CASE.
OIL CONSUMES SUPER FAST. HAVING TO PUT MORE OIL IN AFTER OIL CHANGE AND ALSO HAVING TO TAKE VEHICLE BACK WHERE I GOT OIL CHANGE AND THEY ADD MORE OIL. THEY CHECKED FOR OIL LEAKS. NO LEAKS. CHECKED VALVE COVER GASKET (GOOD).
The contact's husband owns a 2015 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated while the vehicle was at an independent mechanic for an oil change, the contact was informed that the vehicle was experiencing excessive oil consumption and that it was a known failure. Additionally, the contact stated while driving 73-74 MPH, the vehicle shuddered and stalled. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road. The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the rod bearing had caused engine failure. The dealer determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The mechanic informed the contact the failure was due to a factory defect and would reoccur even after the engine replacement. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the same assessment was made. The dealer filed a claim with the manufacturer and sent a diagnostic report with pictures of the failure; however, the manufacturer denied the claim several times. The contact stated that the engine was previously replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 152,550.
WHILE I WAS TRAVELING ALONG A RURAL ROAD AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH MY CAR ENGINE SHUT OFF ABRUPTLY AND WITHOUT WARNING. THERE WAS NO PULL OFF AND I WAS LEFT ON THE ROAD IN THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC. THE CAR WILL NOT START AND HAD TO GET TOWED BACK TO MY PLACE OF RESIDENCE. CHECKED FOR ERROR CODES BUT NONE WERE FOUND.
SOUND COMING FROM LEFT END WITH VEHICLE IN MOTION ON HIGHWAY, WHEN CHECKED, LEFT FRONT COIL SPRING WAS BROKEN.
ELECTRONIC STEERING CONTROL COMPLETELY FAILED WHILE ACTIVELY DRIVING ON STATE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH.. WARNING LIGHT DID COME ON BUT STEERING WAS VERY DIFFICULT AS THE STEERING WHEEL WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. WORSE THEN HAVING MANUAL STEERING. ODOMETER READING AT THE TIME WAS 49504 MILES
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL DOOR FAILED TO OPEN FROM DEPRESSING THE UNLOCK BUTTON INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE EMERGENCY LEVER TO OPEN THE FUEL COVER IN THE TRUCK OF THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO INOPERABLE. I JUST DROVE 4 AND A HALF HOURS AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR SAID TO PULL OVER AND CHECK HYBRID SYSTEM. IT ALSO SAID CHECK BREAK SYSTEM. I COULD NOT ACCELERATE THE CAR CORRECTLY THANKFULLY I WAS ABLE TO GET IT OFF THE HIGHWAY. WHILE I TURNED OFF THE HIGHWAY I HAD A HARD TIME STEERING THE CAR AS IT DID NOT WANT TO TURN. THEN WHEN I WENT TO STOP IT DID NOT STOP PROPERLY IT CONTINUED TO COAST. IT WAS THE SCARIEST THING EVER! LIGHTS WERE BLINKING AND IT WAS BEEPING. I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED. THE DEALER WHO RECEIVED THE CAR CALLED AND ASKED WHY IS IT HERE? HE PROCEEDED TO SAY HE STARTED THE CAR WITH NO PROBLEM. IT IS FRIDAY AND NOW I AM STUCK 4 1/2 HOURS AWAY FROM HOME AND THE DEALER SAID HE WON'T BE ABLETO GET TO MY CAR TO DIAGNOSE IT UNTIL MONDAY BC HIS SATURDAY HOURS ARE BOOKE FOR OIL CHANGES AND OTHER CUSTOMER APPOINTMENTS. SO NOW I WILL HAVE TO RENT A VEHICHLE UNTIL AT LEAST MONDAY. HE WILL NOT GIVE ME A LINES UNTIL DIAGNOSED. THEN SAID I COULD NOT HAVE ONE BECAUSE I'M OUT OF STATE. WE WERE ON A SMALL WEEKEND TRIP AND SUPPOSED TO GO HOME SUNDAY. NOW I'M STUCK IN PA WITH NO CLUE WHEN I WILL GET MY CAR BACK. MY KIDS HAVE SCHOOL MONDAY AND NOW I MUST FIND A WAY TO RENT A VEHICHLE AND PAY FOR A HOTEL TIL WHO KNOWS WHEN. LEADING UP TO THIS I WAS ON MULTIPLE HIGHWAYS WITH SPEED LIMITS OF 70 MPH. PRAISE GOD WE MADE IT SAFELY OFF THE ROAD. I'LL NEVER OWN ANOTHER HYUNDAI. I PURCHASED NEW IN 2016. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME I HAVE HAD IT TOWED. FIRST TIME IT LEFT ME FOR A CHECK BREAK SYSTEM. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT BACK TO A MECHANIC WHO THEN DIAGNOSED IT AND STATED IT WAS A P3126 OBD-II DIAGNOSTIC POWERTRAIN (P) TROUBLE CODE DESCRIPTION P3126 ENGINE TROUBLE CODE IS ABOUT EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION SENSOR B CIRCUIT HIGH. REASON FOR P3126 CODE THE REASON OF P3126 OBD-II ENGINE TROUBLE CODE IS ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR MALFUNCTION. P3126 CODE ON VEHICLES WITH ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS, THE 3-4 SHIFT SOLENOID IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ACTUATING THE HYDRAULIC CIRCUITS TO ACTIVATE CLUTCHES OR BANDS THAT CHANGE GEARS INSIDE THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION.CONTACTED HYUNDAI AND JUSTIN ASKED ME WAS THE CHECK ENGINE FLASHING I ADVISED HIM YES. HE SAID IT WAS MORE THAN LIKELY A RECALL. HE MADE ME AN APPT FOR TUESDAY 12-10 @ 7:15AM. I PROCEEDED TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE TO HYUNDAI AND I WAS TOLD IT'S NOT A RECALL AND THEY ARE GOING TO CHARGE ME $175 JUST TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. I DROVE IT BACK TO MY JOB IN FLOWERY BRANCH GA AND CONTACTED GEICO TO TOW IT BACK TO MY HOUSE.
HYBRID SYSTEM WARNING. CHECK BRAKES. DO NOT DRIVE. THE CAR SHUTS DOWN WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING AND YOU GET THIS WARNING WITH ALARMS DINGING LOUDLY. IT RENDERS THE CAR UNUSABLE AND IS UNSAFE IN TRAFFIC. IF YOU TURN THE CAR OFF AND WAIT YOU CAN RESTART IT BUT IT JUST HAPPENS AGAIN. IT HAPPENS ON THE FREEWAY AT HIGH SPEED AND ON SLOW SIDE STREETS. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS A SENSOR IN THE BRAKE BOOSTER SO WE REPLACED IT. A WEEK LATER IT HAPPENS AGAIN. ABOUT A YEAR BEFORE WE GOT A SIMILAR MESSAGE: HYBRID SYSTEM WARNING. DO NOT DRIVE. BUT IT DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THE BRAKES. HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AT VARYING SPEEDS IN ALL WEATHER. THE DEALER REPLACED THE 12V BATTERY AND THE MESSAGE STOPPED. NOW WE GET THE BRAKE PROBLEM INSTEAD. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE AS YOUR CAR SHUTS DOWN AT HIGH SPEEDS! DEALERS APPEAR TO HAVE NO SOLUTIONS THAT ARE CORRECT. ENGINE KNOCKING, CHECKED THE OIL AND IT WAS FINE. DROVE IT STRAIGHT HOME WHICH WAS ABOUT THREE MILES. THE NEXT DAY I WAS DRIVING IT TO WORK AND THE KNOCKING WAS GETTING LOUDER AND LOUDER, PULLED OVER, CHECKED THE OIL AND IT WAS SLUDGE. TOOK IT TO GREASE MONKEY, WHICH WAS DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET FROM WHERE I WAS. THEY CHANGED THE OIL AND PUT AN ENGINE CLEANER THROUGH IT. STILL THE SAME. THEY TOOK A LOOK AT IT AND SAID THAT THE ENGINE IS SEIZING. I ALWAYS MAINTAINED THE CAR AND NO WARNING LIGHTS EVER CAME ON UNTIL AFTER THE OIL CHANGE, THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. MILEAGE AROUND 113,000 WHEN THIS HAPPENED.
THE ENGINE CONSUMES EXTRAORDINARY AMOUNTS OF ENGINE OIL. AT 72,000 MILES, OVER 70% OF ENGINE OIL IS LOST BETWEEN AN OIL CHANGE RANGE OF 7500 MILES. RADIATOR FLUID LEVELS DROP AS WELL. I BELIEVE THE ENGINE HAS INTERNAL PROBLEMS THAT LEAD TO ENGINE OIL AND RADIATOR FLUID TO ENTER THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER. THIS HAS BEEN THE CASE SINCE VERY EARLY DAYS AND WAS ALSO REPORTED TO US BY OTHER SERVICE CENTERS. IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE OVER TIME.

THE CAR SUDDENLY LOST POWER DURING THE CITY DRIVE, BY THE SAME TIME, ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. THE ACCELERATION PEDAL DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY, (ENVN WITH THE PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR, IT IS AROUND 30K RPM WITH ~30 MPH, AND THE CAR DIDN'T RUNNING SMOOTHLY (HESITATE TO MOVE). SHUT DOWN AND START AGAIN. EVERYTHING IS BACK TO NORMAL, JUST THE ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON. THIS IS RECURRING PROBLEM, IT IS BEEN THE FIFTH OR SIXTH TIME START FROM THE SECOND OF THE OWNERSHIP (~8000 MILES). EVERYTIME TAKE THE CAR TO DEALERSHIP, THEY TOLD ME DID NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG AND CAR COMPUTER WAS UPDATED (I GUESS THEY MEAN THE ENGINE LIGHT CODE WAS CLEARED)

THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE PARTS TO REPAIR THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 96,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.

RESTARTED AGAIN ENGINE LIGHT STAYED IN GOT HOME WHERE I WAS TEMPORARILY STAYING , WAITED A FEW HOURS RESTARTED NO WARNING LIGHTS.WAS A FRIDAY, MESSAGED SERVICE MGR , HE WAS OFF CALLED MONDAY CAR BROUGHT IN TUESDAY. ERROR CODE OFF ON BOARD DIAGNOSTICS WAS P1B70 . THEY LOADED SOFTWARE UPDATE 19 HC 002H SERVICE BULLETIN. CAR 2015 THIS PROBLEM WAS A ISSUE WITH EARLIER YEARS..STILL AROUND UNFORTUNATELY. SHOULD HAVE BEEN A SAFETY RECALL ..CARS ARE DYING WHILE DRIVING. DEALER EXPRESSED OPINION THAT THIS SHOULD RESOLVE ISSUE IF NOT CALL IMMEDIATELY.

ON 11/5/2019 WHILE DRIVING STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP THROWING A EPS CODE. HAD TO PULL OVER IN 55 MPH TRAFFIC. LUCKY I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD. TURNED OFF THE CAR AND RESTARTED IT AND THE EPS LIGHT WAS GONE. I MADE IT HOME. ON 11/7/2019 ON THE WAY TO DEALERSHIP WHEN I LOST ALL POWER STEERING AND HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO HYUNDAI OF VALDOSTA, WHERE IT CURRENTLY SITS. THIS IS REALLY DANGEROUS.
