Rear Passenger Door won't open and driver side door is getting stuck. Have 2 pull drivers side door to get it to open.
I am having the same problem as hundreds of others were the door actuators in 3/4 of my doors no longer function properly. Driver's side rear door cannot be opened from the inside or out. Front two doors have to be opened from the inside. Passenger side rear door is the only one that works properly.
TOWNE HYUNDAI ,DENVILLE, NJ, HAS BEEN GIVING ME THE RUNAROUND SINCE MARCH 2021, WHEN I FIRST CONTACTED THEM ABOUT THE RECALL. THREE CONVERSATIONS OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL MONTH GOT ME NOWHERE. THEY SAID THEY DONT HAVE PARTS. I EVEN CONTACTED THEIR COPRPORATE HEADQUARTERS, WITH NO RESULTS.
THE DOOR LOCKING MECHANISM IS FAULTY. I AM UNABLE TO OPEN A PASSENGER DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE OR THE INSIDE, REGARDLESS OF CHILD LOCK POSITION. I HAVE TWO CHILDREN, A 2 YEAR OLD AND A 7 MONTH OLD. THE FAULTY PART IS A WIDESPREAD ISSUE AMONG TUSCON'S AND IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH OR A VEHICULAR FIRE, I WOULD BE UNABLE TO ACCESS MY CHILD BECAUSE THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN.
MY BACK PASSENGER DOOR WON'T OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE. YOU CAN HEAR THE POWER LOCK WORKING, BUT THE DOOR WON'T OPEN. THE PROBLEM STARTED OUT GRADUALLY WHERE THE DOOR WOULDN'T OPEN UNLESS YOU PULLED THE HANDLE MORE THAN ONCE AND NOW IT WON'T OPEN AT ALL. IT'S VERY DANGEROUS FOR PEOPLE IN THE BACK SEAT BECAUSE THEY CAN'T GET OUT IN AN EMERGENCY THROUGH THAT DOOR.
THE LEFT REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE NOR FROM THE OUTSIDE WHICH I FEEL CAUSES A SEVERE SAFETY CONCERN IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY THAT REQUIRES IMMEDIATE ACCESS TO SOMEONE IN THE REAR SEAT.
2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. THIS HAPPENED JANUARY 2021. I WAS WAITING FOR THE ENTIRE FIRE RECALL TO COME UP WITH A FIX SO I COULD TAKE IT IN AT THE SAME TIME. NOW, THE FRONT DRIVER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE, ONLY THE INSIDE. HYUNDAI IS SAYING IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND I WILL NEED TO PAY FOR BOTH. QUICK RESEARCH ONLINE SHOWS ME THAT THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE ALSO EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM. THIS SHOULD BE EVALUATED AS IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE IF MY CAR CATCHES FIRE BEFORE THERE CAN BE A FIX FOR THE RECALL AND MYSELF OR MY PASSENGERS ARE UNABLE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR IF IT IS ON FIRE.
THE CAR SEEMS TO BE ACTING AS IF THERE IS AN ELECTRICAL FAULT. ALL OF THE SAFETY SENSORS ON THE CAR ARE FLASHING AND THE POWER STEERING DOES NOT WORK. MY WIFE AND I CURRENTLY ARE STATIONED OVERSEAS IN ITALY AND THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP SAID TO TAKE IT TO HYUANDAI FOR REPAIR. THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP HERE REFUSES TO TOUCH IT OR EVEN REPLY TO US. THE VEHICLE IS NOT DRIVEABLE.
BOUGHT CAR AT 690000 MILES , HAD OIL CHANGED AT DEALER NEVER USED A DROP. AFTER OIL CHANGE STARTED USING OIL, A QUART ABOUT EVERY 250 MILES, STARTED OIL CONSUMPTION TEST TODAY AT 75667 MILES.
RECEIVED A RECALL (CAMPAING 195) NOTICE FROM HYUNDAI FOR TUSCON MODELS 2016-2021 FOR ABS. THE NOTICE WAS FOR A 2016 TUSCON WHICH WAS TRADED FOR A 2021 TUSCON BUT NO MENTION OF A RECALL FOR THE 2021 ???
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR FAILED TO OPEN FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. NO WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURE WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,255.
OUR CAR FRONT DRIVER DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK FROM THE OUTSIDE WITH THE REMOTE FOB OR THE DOOR HANDLE. THE ONLY WAY TO OPEN THE DOOR IS TO USE THE HANDLE ON THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR. THIS HAPPENS CONTINUALLY NOW & STARTED HAPPENING ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO FOR NO IDENTIFIABLE REASON. WHEN APPROACHING THE CAR TO GO FOR A DRIVE, WE HAVE TO OPEN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR FIRST & REACH ACROSS TO THE DRIVER SIDE & UNLOCK FROM THE INTERIOR. NO OTHER WAY TO DO IT. WE SEARCHED ONLINE AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH HYUNDAI SUVS, WITH OTHER INSTANCES OF DOORS NOT EVEN BEING ABLE TO BE OPENED FROM THE INTERIOR EITHER. IT LOOKS LIKE THERE IS A MALFUNCTIONING DOOR "ACTUATOR". SOME CASES HAVE HAD TO COMPLETELY DESTROY THE INTERIOR DOOR PANEL TO BE ABLE TO ACCESS THE MECHANISMS OF THE DOOR TO REPLACE THE ACTUATOR. SINCE IT IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM, AND A SAFETY ISSUE IF PEOPLE CANNOT OPEN DOORS FROM INSIDE OR OUT, THIS SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL. REALLY THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE IF YOU CANNOT OPEN YOUR DOOR TO GET OUT OF THE CAR IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. PLEASE EVALUATE THIS ASAP & HAVE HYUNDAI ISSUE A RECALL.
The locking mechanism of the driver's door as well as the rear door on the driver's side has malfunctioned. The driver's door requires the exterior handle to be pulled 3-6 times before the door will open (it opens on the first pull from the inside. The rear door does not open at all from either the inside or the outside. The issue with the driver's door started to occur in Feb 2021, or at approximately 50k - 55k miles. The issue with the rear door started to occur in May 2021, or at approximately 55k - 58k miles. I have not yet had the issue inspected by a dealer or independent mechanic, but will be soon. The rear door is a significant safety issue. If a severe enough accident occurred including a fire or rollover, or a collision to the passenger side that rendered the passenger side doors inoperable, occupants in the rear seat would not be able to exit the vehicle. I am also worried that the driver's door and possibly the passenger side doors will begin to not function at all. I have ready on many Hyundai forums that this is a common issue to all Hyundai models manufactured in the 2010s.

THE CONTACT CALLED AN UNKNOWN DEALER AND IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOORS UNLOCKING MECHANISMS STOP WORKING. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WILL WORK BUT THE MECHANISM INSIDE THE DOOR WILL NOT FUNCTION COMPLETELY AND KEEPS YOU FROM BEING ABLE TO GET INTO YOUR CAR.

THE CONTACT HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INFORMED HER THAT THE DEFECT WAS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA FOR ASSISTANCE. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
The back doors will not open from the inside or the outside. I have seem multiple people complain about this and yet still not recall issued. This is a HUGE safety problem. I can't use half of my car because if I somehow get passengers back there and we get in an accident.. they are stuck. If my dog rides back there and we get in an accident and God forbid he can't jump to the front, he is stuck. This needs to be recalled ASAP. There is no reason for these door handles to just stop working. My front door handle also has to be pulled twice for me to be able to open it.
WE WERE NEVER INFORMED THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS CAR WHEN WE PURCHASED IT FROM THE HYUNDAI DEALER. WE HAD SEVERAL ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND HAVE GONE TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR AND THEY NEVER MENTIONED THE RECALL INVOLVING THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IN OUR TUCSON. WE HAD THE LATEST ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITH OUR DOOR NOT CLOSING. WE HAVE HAD CONTINUED ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THIS CAR AND MISSION HILLS HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP HAS NOT MENTIONED THE RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER'S DOOR FAILED TO UNLOCK FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO REMOVE HIS DAUGHTER FROM OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT CLIMBED OVER THE PASSENGER'S SEAT TO REACH BACK AND REMOVE HIS DAUGHTER FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HYUNDAI OF PARAMUS (234 E STATE RT 4, PARAMUS, NJ 07652, (201) 488-3322) WHERE THE REAR DRIVER'S DOOR WAS INSPECTED AND THE LATCH WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED 10 MILES LATER WITH THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LATCH FAILING TO OPEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT DOOR LATCH WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED ABOUT TAKING THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE SAME DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.
THE DOORS ON THIS CAR KEEP FAILING TO OPEN. ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO I HAD TO REPLACE THE LOCKING MECHANISM ON THE DRIVER FRONT DOOR. THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE. THEN ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO I HAD TO REPLACE THE DOOR LOCKING MECHANISM ON THE DRIVER REAR DOOR. NOW I NEED TO REPLACE THE MECHANISM ON THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN IF WE ARE UNABLE TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY.

THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR AND FRONT DRIVER DOOR ON MY VEHICLE WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. KEY FOB HAS NEW BATTERIES AND CAN HEAR THE LOCKS ENGAGING/ DISENGAGING, HOWEVER THE DOORS WILL NOT OPEN. HUGE SAFETY ISSUE , THIS MUST BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY. UPON READING ONLINE, NUMEROUS CUSTOMERS HAVE THE SAME EXACT ISSUE , HYUNDAI HAS DONE NOTHING. MUST BE A RECALL NOW , COST TO REPAIR IS OVER $2,000. THIS PROBLEM CAN LEAD TO SERIOUS PHYSICAL INJURY OR DEATH.
THREE OF THE FOUR DOORS HAVE DEFECTS WHICH PREVENT THEM FROM OPENING FROM THE OUTSIDE OR INSIDE, WHICH IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. THE DOOR LOCK ACUATOR IS WHAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE RIGHT FRONT DOOR WAS REPLACED IN 2018. ONE OF THE BACK DOORS WAS REPLACED IN 2020, AND NOW THE OTHER BACK DOOR WON'T OPEN DUE TO THE SAME ISSUE. I OFTEN TRANSPORT CHILDREN AND AN ELDERLY GRANDPARENT, ALL OF WHOM SIT IN THE BACK SEAT. IF I HAD BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT, THERE WOULD BE NO WAY TO GET THEM OUT OF THE VEHICLE. ON TOP OF THE FACT THAT THIS IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURER DEFECT WITH THE VEHICLE, I'M NOW CONCERNED THE DRIVER'S DOOR WILL STOP WORKING SOON, MEANING I CAN'T DRIVE THE VEHICLE AT ALL. I CONTACTED HYUNDAI CUSTOMER SUPPORT SINCE THE VEHICLE IS 1,000 MILES OVER WARRANTY AND THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO (CONVERSATION 4/5/21). FIVE STAR HYUNDAI OF MACON REFUSED TO PUT IN A REQUEST TO OVER-RIDE THE WARRANTY TO GET IT FIXED, SINCE CLEARLY IT IS A MANUFACTURER PROBLEM WITH MY VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HASN'T BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENTS THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THIS ISSUE AND HYUNDAI IS APPARENTLY AWARE OF THE ISSUE, AS IT FREQUENTLY OCCURS WITH TUCSONS AND ELANTRAS (PER CONVERSATION WITH FIVE STAR HYUNDAI), YET REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. BECAUSE MY VEHICLE IS NOW AT 61,000 MILES THEY ARE SAYING IT IS NO LONGER THEIR RESPONSIBILITY AND ARE NOT OFFERING TO ASSIST IN ANY WAY. THE BLIND SPOT DETECTOR IS ALSO MALFUNCTIONING, NOT NOTIFYING WHEN A VEHICLE IS NEXT TO MINE AND OCCASIONALLY GOING OFF WHEN THERE IS NO VEHICLE AT ALL. FIVE STAR MACON SAID THIS IS ALSO NOT UNDER WARRANTY ANYMORE AND SAID THEY DON'T KNOW WHY IT WOULD BE A PROBLEM BUT WOULD REQUIRE THEM REMOVING MY BUMPER AND DOING EXTENSIVE DIAGNOSTIC WORK BEFORE THEY'D KNOW HOW TO FIX IT.

The contact stated that the vehicle failed to accelerate above 40 MPH while depressing the accelerator pedal. THIS MODEL HAS A RECALL FOR ITS ABS SYSTEM DUE YO ENGINE FIRES THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEAKER AND WE HAVE BEEN TOLD THERE IS NO RESOLVE FOR THIS ISSUE YET HYUNDAI ISSUED A RECALL AND THE ONLY WAY WE FOYND OUT WAS TO GO ONLINE AND LOOK IT UP NOW THEY SAY THEY WANT US TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE WITH THE RECALL ISSUE UNTIL HYUNDAI FIGURES OUT YHE ISSUE THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE OUR SAFETY IS FAR MORE IMPORT WE ARE BOTH DISABLED AND NEED A RELIABLE VEHICLE TO GET TO DR. APPOINTMENTS PLEASE HELP TO RESOLVE SAID ISSUE THANK YOU THE BATTLES
TRAVELLED ABOUT ABOUT 150 MILES.OUT OF THE BLUECAR BEGAN LOSING ACCELERATION WITHOUT WARNING , WHILE GOING UPHILL ON A MOUNTAIN PASS. AS PEDAL WAS PRESSED TO THE FLOOR. WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF HIGHWAY ENOUGH TO BE OUT OF LANE OF TRAFFIC, NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF, WOULD NOT RESTART. VEHICLE GAVE NO WARNING- NO ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS. CAR HAD BEEN MAINTAINED. MECHENIC REPORTS ENGINE IS INOPERABLE. SIMILAR TO ALL REPORTS OF ENGINE FAILURE IN 2011 TO 2018 THETA ENGINE.
REAR DOORS ARE STUCK IN CLOSED POSITION. THE DOOR LOCKS OPERATE, I CAN HEAR IT CLICK AND I CAN SEE IT MOVE BUT THE DOORS DO NOT RELEASE. WITH TWO SMALL CHILDREN STUCK IN THE REAR OF THE CAR, THIS IS A DANGER. FURTHER RESEARCH ONLINE INDICATES PEOPLE HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS WITH ALL 4 DOORS, SO WE ARE DRIVING IN FEAR UNTIL WE CAN GET THIS FIXED. THIS IS DANGEROUS.
MY DOOR LATCHES ARE ACTING UP MY DRIVERS SIDE AND PASSENGERS SIDE FRONT NEED TO BE PULLED MULTIPLE TIMES FROM THE OUTSIDE TO OPEN AND MY PASSENGER SIDE REAR COMPLETELY FAILED IT WOULD NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE RESULTING IN A COSTLY REPAIR BUT SINCE IT'S WERE MY DAUGHTER SITS IT IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME NOT BEING ABLE TO GET HER OUT OF THE CAR WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN GOOD.
LEFT REAR DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN OUR GARAGE. IT WILL NOT OPEN WHEN TUCSON IS RUNNING OR IGNITION IS OFF. RIGHT REAR DOOR HAS ALSO HAD THIS PROBLEM PERIODICALLY. THERE IS NO WAY TO GET OUT OF BACKSEAT. I HAVE GONE TO MULTIPLE WEBSITES AND THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM TUCSON OWNERS. I HAVE EVEN CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM.
I WAS DRIVING APPROX 65-70MPH ON THE FREEWAY JUST AFTER 7PM AT NIGHT. IT WAS DARK, BUT NO RAIN. TUCSON STOPPED OUT OF NOWHERE. IT WAS LIKE I HIT AN INVISIBLE BRICK WALL AND THEN STARTED TO PUSH THROUGH IT. I THOUGHT MAYBE I'D HIT SOME UNSEEN ROAD DEBRIS. I PULLED OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I DID NOT GET OUT (IT WAS DARK AND TOO MANY CARS WERE WHIZZING BY.) NONE SEEMED TO BE SWERVING OR PULLING OVER FROM HITTING ROAD DEBRIS. MY SEATBELT LOCKED AND THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE. MY AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY, BUT MY SEATBELT DID LOCK UP. MY EARS WERE RINGING AND MY CHEST WAS SORE FROM THE SEATBELT. THERE WERE NO SENSOR WARNINGS ON MY CONSOLE, SO I PUT ON MY EMERGENCY FLASHERS AND DROVE OFF AT THE NEXT EXIT. WHEN I INSPECTED MY CAR, THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO BE FOUND. I CALLED POLICE NON EMERGENCY AND THEY PUT ME THROUGH TO HIGHWAY PATROL SO THAT I COULD NOTIFY THEM ABOUT DEBRIS (EVEN THOUGH I HADN'T SEEN IT.) THE NEXT MORNING MY NECK HURT AND I HAD A SLIGHT HEADACHE (THIS HAS CONTINUED FOR 5 OR 6 DAYS NOW). MY FACE MASK FLEW INTO THE FOOT AREA. WHEN I CALLED THE POLICE NON EMERGENCY NUMBER BACK A COUPLE DAYS LATER, THEY FORWARDED ME TO THE HIGHWAY PATROL AND THEY LOOKED UP THE CALL/REPORT. THE OFFICERS HAD NOT FOUND/COME IN CONTACT WITH ANY DEBRIS IN THE AREA. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP TO SEE IF THERE WAS DAMAGE UNDERNEATH THAT I COULDN'T SEE AND TO PULL THE ELECTRONIC RECORDS. THEY FOUND NOTHING. I FEEL LIKE THE EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM DEPLOYED FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IT'S DONE IT. THE FIRST TIME THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME WAS TURNING RIGHT AND WAS WELL INTO THE TURN, NOWHERE IN FRONT OF ME AND THE TUCSON BRAKED SUDDENLY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. I KEPT ON THE GAS AND IT PICKED UP SPEED AGAIN. THANKFULLY BOTH TIMES NO ONE WAS IMMEDIATELY BEHIND ME. I DO NOT RECALL THE DATE OF THIS, BUT I CAN SUBMIT A SECOND REPORT IF NEEDED.
TL* THE CONTACT'S MOTHER OWNS A 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE HIS MOTHER WAS ATTEMPTING TO OPEN THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR, IT FAILED TO OPEN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40,000.
AFTER PICKING MY GRANDSON UP FROM SURGERY ON BOTH LEGS WENT TO GET HIM OUT OF THE CAR AND NEITHER OF THE DOORS IN THE REAR WOULD OPEN THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH HYUNDAI THAT HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED THEY SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION SPECIALLY IN A PLACE LIKE FLORIDA WHERE WE HAVE BODIES OF WATER ALL OVER NEXT TO THE ROADS IN AN EMERGENCYYOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT
THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR COULD NOT BE OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE, EVEN THOUGH THE HANDLE WAS NOT STUCK. SPRINGFIELD HYUNDAI IN SPRINGFIELD, PA INSPECTED AND CONFIRMED THE PROBLEM, BUT DID NOT FIX BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. ANOTHER SHOP REPLACED THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR.
REAR PASSENGER DOOR IS LOCKED FROM THE INSIDE AND OUT. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN AND NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. ALL THE LOCKS ON THE DOOR NEED TO BE UPGRADED AND REPAIRED NOT JUST REPLACED BY THE SAME FAULTY LOCKS.
Both front doors no longer open from outside. Started off as intermittent and has gotten progressively worse sometimes I cant get them to open from inside either. This is a huge safety problem.
ONCE LOCKED AND THEN UNLOCKED, THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR IS UNABLE TO BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE OF THE CAR. THIS IS DUE TO FAILING DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR. THIS PREVENTS PASSENGERS FROM EXITING THE CAR AND IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. THE SAME DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR IS ON ALL DOORS AND IS A KNOWN ISSUES WITH HYUNDAI.
I CALLED HYUNDAI ON SOUTH BOULEVARD THIS MORNING AND SPOKE TO A TECH WHO TOLD ME THAT THE RECALL REMEMDY IS NOT AVAILABLE YET. THIS IS SCARY. HE DID MENTION THAT I CAN RENT A VENHICLE AND HYUNDAI WOULD REIMBURSE ME, BUT I LIVE ON SOCIAL SECURITY AND CANNOT AFFORD A RENTAL. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE
THE VEHICLE IS LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD AND I WAS TOLD THE STEERING COLUMN NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. IT CLICKS WHEN EVER THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED. I WAS TOLD IT IS FINE TO DRIVE IT UNTIL I GET IT REPAIRED BUT AFTER READING WHAT COULD HAPPEN THAT DOESN'T SEEM TRUE. I HAVE HAD THE BACK PASSENGER DOOR LATCH REPLACED BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. NOW TO OPEN MY FROM PASSENGER DOOR YOU HAVE TO PULL THE DOOR HANDLE 3 TIMES TO GET IT TO OPEN. MY DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WON'T OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE. AND THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW WILL GO UP AND DOWN WHEN TRYING TO PUT JUST UP OR DOWN.*DT*JB
IN MY 2016 HYUNDAI TUSCON THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. IT LOCKS AND UNLOCKS VIA KEYLESS ENTRY, INDOOR LOCK/UNLOCK BUTTON AND KEY FOB UNLOCK/LOCK BUTTON, HOWEVER THE DOOR DOES NOT PHYSICALLY OPEN. IT SPONTANEOUS OCCURRED WHEN TRYING TO GET INTO MY CAR. THIS IS A HUGE SAFELY CONCERN IF SOMEONE NEEDED TO LEAVE MY CAR IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. UPON RESEARCH THIS APPEARS TO BE A CHRONIC PROBLEM WITH A MASSIVE AMOUNT OF 2016 MODELS, SOME HAVING ISSUES WITH MULTIPLE DOORS. IT APPEARS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH THE LOCK ACTUATOR THAT WAS INSTALLED IS MOST OF THE 2016-2017 TUSCONS. HYUNDAI IS NOT WILLING TO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT THAT IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN THAT NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON ALL OF THESE MODELS.
NEITHER BACK DOOR WILL OPEN FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. MY DRIVER DOOR HANDLE TAKES TWO PULLS TO OPEN AFTER BEING UNLOCKED. MY SECOND ROW IS ESSENTIALLY NON-USABLE. I HAVE SEEN HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE WITH HYUNDAI'S YET HAVE NOT SEEN A RECALL FOR THEM. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD.
MILEAGE IS AT 63K AND MY FRONT PASSENGER AND REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN. THE REAR PASSENGER WILL NOT OPEN FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. THE FRONT PASSENGER WILL TAKE 5 TRIES TO OPEN AND WILL OPEN.
THE PASANGER SIDE DOOR AND REAR LEFT DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE. THE CAR IS STATIONARY. WE HAVE HAD THE CAR FOR ONLY 6 MONTHS BOUGHT USED 42,305 MILES ON IT.
LOCKING MECHANISM IS NOT RELEASING ON 3/4 DOORS (CURRENTLY DRIVERS FRONT AND BOTH REAR PASSENGER DOORS) AND DOORS WON'T OPEN WHEN UNLOCKED. TAKES SEVERAL PULLS ON THE DOOR HANDLE TO OPEN - ANYWHERE FROM 10-50 PULLS, SOMETIMES IT NEVER OPENS, OTHER TIMES IT WILL OPEN. ONCE OPENED IT WILL OPEN NORMALLY AS LONG AS THE DOOR IS NOT LOCKED AGAIN. IF THE DOOR IS LOCKED AND UNLOCKED IT WILL NOT OPEN AGAIN.
BOTH RIGHT SIDE DOORS DO NOT CONSISTENTLY OPEN WHEN FIRST UNLOCKED. THIS HAPPENS IN A STATIONARY POSITION RIGHT AFTER UNLOCKING DOORS. ONCE OPEN, THEY ARE FINE UNTIL THE CAR IS LOCKED AGAIN. THEY WILL NOT OPEN FROM EITHER EXTERIOR HANDLE OR INTERIOR HANDLE. THIS HAPPENED A WHILE AGO, BUT RECENTLY TRIED TO GET IT FIXED AND FOUND OUT I AM OUT OF WARRANTY COVERAGE. WHEN I LOOKED UP HOW TO REPAIR IT, I WAS SHOCKED BY HOW WIDESPREAD THE ISSUE IS.
ONGOING PROBLEM WITH DOORS NOT OPENING FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE OR OUTSIDE. ALREADY REPAIRED ONE AT DEALERSHIP UNDER WARRANTY, OTHER 2 DOORS REPAIRED AND NEEDING REPAIR AGAIN. FRONT DRIVERS DOOR AND REAR DRIVER DOOR CURRENTLY EFFECTED. EXTREMELY UNSAFE IF IN AN ACCIDENT AND TWO WORKING DOORS ARE DAMAGED AND UNOPERATIONAL. HYUNDAI SAYS THEY DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM BUT COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET ARE HUGE IN NUMBERS.
Passenger side door ( front) and driver side door (rear) are getting increasingly difficult to open even when they are unlocked.
The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that the driver’s side rear and passenger’s side front door would not open from inside or outside the vehicle. The dealer repaired the front driver’s side door latch a year ago. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.
