All of the window motors in my doors have broken all at once. The windows will not go down because the motors are broken. There are no warning lights for this. It is is a dangerous risk because if there was an emergency where the windows would need to come down they wouldn’t. I do not see how this isn’t a recall when all FOUR window motors have broken at once.
car is in limp mode,will not accelerate.Oil consultant over a few years.Dealership has requested new engine twice and denied by Hyundai USA.i have to put flashers on just to get on highway so im not killed.I will drive down the street and back and my engine will be extremely hot for hours.I am limited to my hometown only.I can not go out of my hometown due to heat of engine and blowing hoses and water pumps which has happened.This car is a danger and I am in financial burden to high repairs and excuses from dealerships.i have spent over 16,000 dollars and 3 catalyc converters later due to clogging ,in result to oul consumption.This car is a lemon and has ruined my life for the last 3/4 years.lots of stress and financial expenses only to have the same problem
THE INCIDENT OCCURRED TO ME WHILE I WAS 7 HOURS FROM HOME. I WAS STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN ON A CURVE IN THE ROAD. WHEN CLEAR, I ACCELERATED AND AS I TURNED AND MERGED INTO THE ROAD, THE CAR STARTED MAKING A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE AND LOST POWER AS I WAS GOING UP HILL. RIGHT BEFORE I LOST ALL POWER, THE OIL LIGHT FLASHED BRIEFLY AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I RESTARTED THE CAR AND AGAIN HEARD A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE BUT WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. AS SOON AS I SLOWED AND STOPPED IT DIED AGAIN. I ENDED UP GETTING TOWED TO THE HYUNDAI DEALER. THE NEXT DAY I CALLED AND THEY LET ME KNOW I HAD "THROWN A ROD AND HAD BEARING DAMAGE". THEY SAID I NEED A NEW ENGINE AND QUOTED ME $12,800. I HAVE PROVIDED ALL SERVICE RECORDS TO THEM WHICH PROVE THAT I HAVE MAINTAINED THE VEHICLE WITH OIL CHANGES AND MAJOR SERVICES DONE AT HYUNDAI AS WELL AS VALVOLINE. THEIR INITIAL OFFER TO ME WAS THEY WOULD COVER 50% OF THE REPAIR. MY SERVICE ADVISOR COUNTERED THEM WITH 90% AND THEIR FINAL OFFER WAS TO COVER 60% AND NO RENTAL - EVEN BEING 7 HOURS FROM HOME. BEFORE THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED, I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO OPEN MY REAR PASSENGER DOOR IN MONTHS DUE TO NEEDING A NEW ACTUATOR. I ALSO LET THEM KNOW THAT I BELIEVED THERE WAS ELECTRICAL ISSUES BECAUSE MY TAIL LIGHT WAS ALWAYS GOING OUT EVEN AFTER BEING REPLACED. I WAS DISMISSED AND TOLD THAT I HAD A FAULTY BULB. SAME DAY AFTER GETTING REPLACED, I WAS AGAIN GETTING THAT "CHECK BRAKE LIGHT" MESSAGE. I BELIEVE THERE IS A RECALL THAT I DO NOT QUALIFY FOR FOR THIS ISSUE. AFTER MUCH RESEARCH, I HAVE FOUND ENGINE FAILURE IS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH HYUNDAI WITH MANY PEOPLE ON THEIR 2ND AND 3RD ENGINES, INCLUDING 2 PEOPLE IN MY OWN FAMILY. I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN THE WAY HYUNDAI IS HANDLING THIS SITUATION AND I WILL NO LONGER BE A HYUNDAI CUSTOMER. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF I CAN PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. THANK YOU!
WHEN PULLING OUT OF PARKING AREA, OR STARTING UP FROM A COMPLETE STOP AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN, WHEN I PRESS THE GAS OF THE VEHICLE , IT HESITATES . IT ALMOST SEEMS LIKE IT'S GOING TO CUT OUT, OR BOGS DOWNS, AND THEN CATCHES. I MAKE SURE IF THERE IS AN ONCOMING VEHICLE COMING , I DON'T PULL OUT IN FEAR THIS WILL HAPPEN , AND I'LL GET HIT BY ANOTHER CAR. THIS HAPPENS EVERYTIME IT'S DRIVEN
AT LOWER SPEEDS THE TRANSMISSION CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO LURCH. SOMETIMES GOES THROUGH 6 GEARS BEFORE REACHING 30 MPH. INCONSISTENT RESPONSE TO GAS PEDAL AT SLOWER SPEEDS. DIFFICULTY WHEN STARTING OUT FROM STOPPED POSITION, OR SLOWER SPEEDS. SHIFTING DOES NOT ALWAYS OCCUR AT CONSISTENT RPM. HAVE CHECK W/DEALER ARE TOLD THAT TRANSMISSION IS WORKING ACCORDING TO SPEC.

BOTH REAR DOORS WILL NOT OPEN AND HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO UTILIZE FOR 1 YEAR NOW. NO DAMAGE TO VEHICLE AND NO ISSUES PRIOR TO ONSET. UNABLE TO OPEN FORM INSIDE AND OUTSIDE. DRIVER DOOR IS STARTING TO NOT OPEN INCONSISTENTLY NOW FOR THE PAST WEEK. SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE FOR MY FAMILY.
THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE OF THE CAR. THE LOCK DOES CLICK BACK AND FORTH BUT THE DOOR REMAINS STUCK. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE FOR ANYONE TRAVELING IN THE BACKSEAT OF THE CAR AS THEY WOULD BE TRAPPED IN THE CAR AND UNABLE TO EXIT FROM THAT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE.
THE TRANSMISSION AT STARTING FROM A STOP HAS HESITATION AND SKIPS WHEN SLOWING DOWN. THE CAR HAS NO OPEN RECALL FOR THE TRANSMISSION. IT HAS BEEN FIXED OR UPDATED FROM THE 2016 RECALL. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND TRULY FIXED.
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WON'T UNLOCK TO OPEN. THIS IS CREATING A SAFETY ISSUE FOR MY CHILDREN.
MY BACK PASSENGER DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR IS FAILING. I AM UNABLE TO OPEN MY DOOR FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE AFTER THE DOOR HAS BEEN LOCKED. ONCE YOU HIT THE UNLOCK BUTTON, THERE IS A TINY PART IN THE LOCK ACTUATOR THAT IS NOT FULLY RETURNING TO THE LEFT WHICH LEAVES THAT SPECIFIC DOOR STILL LOCKED. IT TAKES SEVERAL PULLS/PUSHES ON THE DOOR TO GET IT OPEN AGAIN AND SOMETIMES IT CAN TAKE DAYS BEFORE I CAN GET IT TO OPEN AGAIN. MY HUSBAND WAS ABLE TO TAKE THE DOOR PANEL OFF TO SEE THE FUNCTIONALITY OF THE ACTUATOR AND WAS ABLE TO SEE THE PART WAS FAILING WHEN HE WOULD TRY TO UNLOCK THE DOOR WITH THE KEY FOIB/UNLOCK BUTTON. BASED ON MY RESEARCH THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH HYUNDAI TUCSONS BUT HYUNDAI HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL AND WILL CHARGE A DIAGNOSTIC FEE OF $100 PLUS COST OF LABOR AND PART TO REPAIR. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN FOR MY PASSENGERS AND SHOULD BE AN ISSUE HYUNDAI MAKES RIGHT. THIS ISSUE IS OCCURRING REGARDLESS IF MY VEHICLE IS RUNNING OR NOT.
THE VEHICLE HESITATES WHEN YOU STEP ON THE GAS AND WHEN YOU'RE SITTING ON A HILL FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME IN TRAFFIC TO TRANSMISSION OVERHEATS AND ALMOST STALLS THE CAR
REAR DRIVER DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK EITHER FROM THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE. YOU CAN HEAR THE REMAINING DOORS LOCK AND UNLOCK BUT NOT THE REAR DRIVER. I TRANSPORT MY GRAND CHILDREN AND THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE CARS HAS 16K MILES ON IT AND IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. DEALER SAID IT WILL TAKE ABOUT 1 TO 2 WEEKS TO GET THE PART IN. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ALOT OF THE HYUNDAI TUCSONS.
WHEN THE UNIT IS IN DRIVE OR REVERSE IN ANY DRIVEWAY THE TRACKING LIGHTS TURNS ON UNEXPECTEDLY AND BLOCKS THE BRAKES AND IS IMPOSSIBLE TO BE MOVED.
I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2016 TUCSON FROM THE DEALERSHIP. AFTER TWO YEARS THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOOR HANDLES DIDN'T WORK PROPERLY. I HAVE TO PULL THE HANDLES 4-5 TIMES BEFORE THE DOOR WILL OPEN. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND WAS GIVEN AN ASTRONOMICAL PRICE TO FIX IT. I AM THE ONLY PERSON WHO DRIVES MY CAR. THERE SHOULD BE NO REASON WHY THESE HANDLES ARE MALFUNCTIONING LIKE THIS. THEN LAST MONTH THE BACK DOOR ON THE DRIVERS SIDE WILL NOT OPEN AT ALL. THIS IS RIDICULOUS! THIS IS DANGEROUS. IF I HAD SOMEONE IN THE BACK SEAT AND AN EMERGENCY HAPPENS THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT. I CAN'T BE THE ONLY CUSTOMER HAVING THIS ISSUE. IS THERE SOMETHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT THIS? THIS CAR WAS PAID IN FULL. I'VE ALREADY PAID ENOUGH FOR THIS CAR. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR MALFUNCTIONING DANGEROUS DOOR HANDLES. WHAT CAN I DO?
THE RIGHT REAR DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS UNLOCKED. IT BEGAN AS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM BUT HAS NOW FAILED ENTIRELY.
Two doors will not unlock or open.If in a wreck you are trapped. Dealer said I would have to pay to fix the car. Car will not speed up when on a rough road, which other cars will run over you. Mileage 90122
AFTER PARKING THE CAR, I WENT AROUND TO THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TO GET ONE OF MY CHILDREN OUT OF THE CARSEAT WHEN THE DOOR WOULDN'T OPEN. CHILD LOCKS WERE NOT ENGAGED BUT THE DOOR WOULDN'T OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE OF THE CAR. AFTER USING THE KEYLESS ENTRY AND INSIDE DRIVER SIDE SWITCHES TO UNLOCK THE CAR NUMEROUS TIMES, THE DOOR WOULDN'T OPEN. THE OTHER 3 DOORS WERE UNLOCKING AND LOCKING JUST FINE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN AS MY 8 MONTH OLD WAS LOCATED IN THE REAR PASSENGER SEAT.
REAR RIGHT PASSENGER DOOR WAS GETTING STUCK INTERMITTENTLY WITHOUT OPENING FOR COUPLE WEEKS. AFTER THAT IT HAS BEEN STUCK PERMANENTLY. THIS ISSUE STARTED OCCURRING INTERMITTENTLY WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS 60 MONTHS OLD.TOOK IT DEALER, WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE IT AT THE DEALER PLACE. IT BECAME A PERMANENT ISSUE WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS 61 MONTHS OLD,AM BEING TOLD THAT NOW THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND I NEED TO PAY TO FIX THIS. ITS BEEN 3 MONTHS NOW, THE DOOR IS STILL STUCK.
THE BACK PASSENGER DOOR HAS STOPPED OPENING. IT WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. THE DRIVER DOOR AND THE PASSENGER DOOR WILL ALSO NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE UNLESS THE HANDLE HAS BEEN PULLED MULTIPLE TIMES. EVIDENTLY THIS IS A PROBLEM HAPPENING TO LOTS OF 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON DRIVERS. DOORS ARE THE MOST BASIC THING THAT SHOULD BE EXPECTED TO WORK. THIS VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. THERE'S NO REASON FOR THEM TO STOP WORKING. THE CAR IS STATIONARY AND CAN BE ON OR OFF WHEN THIS HAPPENS.
WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY GOING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I HEAR A LOUD RATTLING NOISE AND LIGHTS ON THE DASH SHOW UP CAR STARTS SMOKING AND LOSES POWER I WAS UNABLE TO START THE CAR AFTER THAT AND HAD TO WAIT ON THE SIDE OFF A BUSY HIGHWAY FOR 3 HOURS WAITING ON A TOW TRUCK.. FAST FORWARD TO THE MECHANIC AND THEY DISCOVERED THAT MY ENGINE FELL APART INTERNALLY WITH NO ROOT CAUSE...ENGINE ONLY HAD 73,000...THAT WAS ON THE FRIDAY AFTER THANKSGIVING. FAST FORWARD TO NOW AND I STILL DON'T HAVE MY CAR WITH NO KNOWN TIME FRAME OF WHEN I'LL GET MY CAR BACK(IT'S NOW 1/12/2021). MY CAR HAS BEEN REGULARLY MAINTAINED WITH ALL RECOMMENDED MAINTENANCE. MY ENGINE WAS THE 2.0 4 CYLINDER AGAIN WITH ONLY 73,000 MILES
I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE DOWN MY STREET WHEN THE ENGINE DIED. RIGHT BEFORE IT DIED, I HEARD A BRUSHING NOISE AND THEN ALL THE LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH. THERE WERE NO OTHER WARNING NOISES OR LIGHTS PRIOR TO ENGINE FAILURE. I CHECKED THE OIL DIPSTICK AND THERE WAS NO OIL REGISTERING ON IT. THE SMEAR THAT WAS ON THE STICK WAS BLACK. THE CHECK ENGINE OR LOW OIL LIGHT NEVER CAME ON TO WARN ME OF A POTENTIAL PROBLEM. THERE IS ALSO NO OIL ON MY DRIVEWAY WHICH WOULD INDICATE A SLOW LEAK. IT WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY TOLD MY THE ENGINE WAS DEAD AND I NEEDED A NEW ONE. THIS IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE 10YR./100,000 MILE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY SINCE I BOUGHT THIS (A YEAR AGO) FROM A FRIEND WHO WAS THE ORIGINAL OWNER. IT HAS APPROXIMATELY 89,000 MILES ON IT NOW. I'M THANKFUL I WAS IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD WHEN THE ENGINE FAILED AND NOT ON THE INTERSTATE WHERE I HAD BEEN MOMENTS PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT. IT IS STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I HAVE BEEN QUOTED $7-9K FOR AN ENGINE REPLACEMENT. THEY HAVE OFFERED $2,800 FOR A TRADE-IN TOWARDS ANOTHER VEHICLE AS AN OPTION.
THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR IS FAILING AND DOESN'T ALWAYS FUNCTION RESULTING IN THE DOOR BEING UN-OPENABLE. WHEN ACTUATED, THE DOOR UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE KEY FOB SOUNDS AS IF THE LOCK IS OPENED, BUT WHEN I PULL ON THE HANDLE, THE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN. AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS AT PULLING ON THE HANDLE, THE DOOR WILL OPEN. THIS IS IMPACTING MY LEFT PASSENGER DOOR. AFTER LOOKING ON THE INTERNET, THIS APPEARS TO BE A WIDESPREAD ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE.
ON REGULAR OIL CHANGE THE MECHANIC - TECHNICIAN SHOP COMMENTED TO ME ON 11/15/2020 THAT THE HYUNDAI TUCSON 2016 4FWD WAS 2 BOTTLE OF OIL LOW. THE MECHANICS INSPECTED FOR ANY LEAKS. THEY TOLD ME THAT COME BACK TWO WEEKS FOR FREE REFILLED THE OIL AGAIN. ON DECEMBER 20, 2020 AND JANUARY 20,2021. ON THE NEXT OIL REPLACEMENT, THE SAME SHOP INDICATED THAT THE ENGINE FOR SURE OF MY HYUNDAI TUCSON 2016 4DFWD WAS BURNING OIL, FOR CONCERN THAT THEY THINK IN POTENTIAL FUTURE I WILL NEED TO REMPLACE GASKET OR HEAD GASKET BECAUSE THE QUANTITY OF OIL IS CURRENTLY BURNT. I WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT THE VEHICLE IS BEEN MAINTAINED WELL AND INSPECTED EVERY MILES ACCORDING TO THE HYUNDAI RECOMMENDATION. PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO CONTACT ME AND HELP ME OUT FOR THIS SOLUTION AND POTENTIAL HUNDREDS PEOPLE OUT THERE DUE TO IS NOT ANY RECALL BAN FOR THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE YET.
SINCE DAY ONE I HAVE TROUBLE WHIT THE TRANSMISSION , THEY RESET IT LIKE 15 TIMES AND EVERY NOW AND THEN THE DUAL CLUTCH ACT CRAZY, TODAY THE REVERSE WONT ENGAGE AND DRIVES SUPER SLOW, I COMPLAIN EVERY SINGLE TIME TO THE DEALER BUT THEY JUST REFUSE TO DO FIX THE TRANSMISSION , , THEY SAID THAT THEY WILL RESET THE TRANSMISSION EVERY TIME THAT GOES WRONG , BUT WHAT IF PASS THE WARRANTY ? ITS NORMAL TO HAVE SUCH A BAD OR A DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION /OR DUAL CLUTCH ISSUE?
I HAVE A 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON WHICH HAS A 120K ON IT AND I THOUGHT I MIGHT HAVE NEEDED A TUNE WHICH I GOT PERFORMED. BUT IT TURNS OUT THAT THE ENGINE HAS COMPRESSION FAILURE ON CYLINDERS 2 AND 3. THE OIL WAS CHANGED REGULARLY SO I'M NOT SURE WHAT HAPPEN. SINCE I WAS DRIVING HOME AND THE VEHICLE STARTED STALLING.
MY TUSCON HAS QT THIS MOMENT 36,960 MILES I PURCHASED IT BACK IN JUNE/JULY MY REAR PASSENGER DOORS OPEN WHEN THEY FEEL LIKE IT AS OF RIGHT NOW I CAN'T GET ONE OF THEM TO OPEN AT ALL. AND THE GAS GUAGE HASN'T FUNCTIONED SINCE I GOT THE VEHICLE. AFTER LOOKING ONLINE I SEE THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE DOORS. THIS IS A REAL NUISANCE AS I HAVE A CHILD AND NEED TO BE ABLE TO OPEN THE DOORS TO GET TO HIM WITHOUT FAIL.
BRAKE LIGHT (LEFT SIDE) DOES NOT WORK.REAR DOOR DRIVETS SIDE WILL NOT OPEN.BOTH HAPPENED IN THE CITY
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE AND PASSENGER'S SIDE DOORS FAILED TO OPEN OR UNLOCK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 52,000.
THE REAR DRIVER DOOR IS STUCK CLOSED NO MATTER WHAT I DO. AFTER LOOKING ONLINE, IT SEEMS LIKE MULTIPLE PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE DOOR ACTUATOR GOING OUT. NOW IF PEOPLE ARE IN MY BACK SEAT, PEOPLE ARE STUCK AND HAVE TO GO OUT THE OTHER DOOR. MY FEAR NOW IS THE OTHER DOOR WILL GO OUT ALSO AND SOMEONE WILL BE STUCK IN THE BACK OF MY CAR.
THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN. THE LOCK CLICKS AND THE DOOR SOUNDS AS IF IT IS LOCKING AND UNLOCKING, BUT THE DOOR ITSELF DOESN'T ACTUALLY OPEN. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN A PARKING LOT WHEN THIS ISSUE WAS DISCOVERED. I'VE TRIED OPENING THE DOOR WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS ON AND OFF.
THE MOTOR IN THE DOORS BLOW (ACCORDING TO THE INFORMATION I RECEIVED FROM HYUNDAI A COUPLE YEARS AGO.) WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE PASSENGERS ARE LOCKED IN THE CAR WITHOUT ANY WAY OF BEING ABLE TO GET OUT. THE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE OF THE CAR. THESE PARTS WERE REPLACED WHILE THE CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY. THIS HAS HAPPENED AGAIN WITH THE SAME VEHICLE AND NOW WILL NOT BE COVERED SINCE IT IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD THAT TRAPS THE PASSENGERS IN THE CAR.
THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS IN MY 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON FAILED REPEATEDLY. THE FIRST WAS ON NOVEMBER 3, 2020, ONE WEEK OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY. THE SECOND DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILED TODAY (FEB 5, 2021). THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE AS THE DOORS CANNOT BE OPENED FROM EITHER THE INSIDE OR OUT BECAUSE THEY FAIL IN THE "LOCKED" POSITION. I DO OIL CHANGE REGULARLY BUT, NOVEMBER OF 2020, WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY TO WORK, ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, SO I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC, HE DIAGNOSED THAT IT WAS CYLINDER THAT FAILED, SO I CALLED THE HYUNDAI DEALER TO MAKE APPOINTMENT FOR SERVICE, BUT, AFTER CHECKING MY VEHICLE, I WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY. IT HAD 77,000 MILES ON IT AND I WAS TOLD THAT MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY ONLY COVERS UP TO 60,000 MILES. I WONDER IF THAT'S TRUE.
BOTH MY FRONT AND REAR DRIVERS SIDE DOOR HAVE BEEN FAILING TO OPEN ON MY 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON. RECENTLY MY REAR DRIVERS SIDE DOOR HAS COMPLETLY FAILED TO OPEN (INSIDE AND OUTSIDE) LEAVING ME WITH ONE DOOR TO ACCESS MY CHILD IN THE BACKSEAT. I HAVE TO PULL MY DRIVERS SIDE DOOR HANDLE MULTIPLE TIMES IN ORDER FOR IT TO "CATCH" AND OPEN. I TOOK THE CAR TO LITHIA HYUNDAI OF FRESNO AND THEY ADVISED ME THAT I NEED TO REPAIR BOTH ACTUATORS AND IT IS NOT CONSIDERED A "SAFETY ISSUE" MORE OF A "WEAR AND TEAR" ISSUE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE KIDS AND NEED TO GET OUT IN AN EMERGENCY.

WHEN THE SOUND GOT WORSE THE CAR WOULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE NO MATTER HOW HARD I PRESSED THE PEDDLE. WE ASSUMED IT WAS THE BATTERY AND GOT A REPLACEMENT BUT THE ISSUE DIDN'T GO AWAY. I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO A PLACE FOR AN OIL CHANGE BUT AFTER THAT THE PROBLEM WAS EVEN WORSE. I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY KIDS IN THE CAR WHEN THE CAR COMPLETELY GAVE OUT, IT WOULD NO LONGER START. WHEN I TURNED THE KEY YOU CAN HEAR THE ENGINE WANTING TO TURN ON BIT IT NEVER DOES. I HAD IT TOWED TO A MECHANIC THE SAME DAY AND HE WAS ABLE TO LOOK AT IT TODAY (NOV 1ST). HE SAID THE MOTOR WAS COMPLETELY SHOT AND THE CAR WAS UNUSABLE. WE ARE ABOUT 1200 OVER THE WARRANTY SO THE DEALSHIP WILL NOT HELP US. THERE WAS NO PREVIOUS WARNING THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR AND IT WAS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FOR THE CAR TO GIVE OUT ON THE HIGHWAY WITHOUT NOTICE. THINK OF THE POSSIBILITIES OF YOUR CHILD DRIVER BEING TRAPPED IN THE CAR DURING A SITUATION LIKE I JUST MENTIONED. I AM MAKING PAYMENTS ON A VEHICLE THAT I DO NOT HAVE USE OF AND NEITHER THE DEALERSHIP NOR HYUNDAI UNDERSTAND THE IMPACT OF THIS SITUATION WHICH IS NO FAULT OF MINE. IN THE CASE OF THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR, THE ABILITY TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE HAS BECOME INCONSISTENT AND IRREGULAR; OFTEN, THE DOOR HANDLE MUST BE PULLED MULRIPLE TIMES FOR RHE DOOR TO OPEN. A MONTH AFTER THE REPAIR THE ENGINE FAILED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED. THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED WITH A REBUILT ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,000.

WHEN CLEARLY THIS IS DEFECTIVE COMPONENTS OR DESIGN, USED IN AND FOR LOCKING SYSTEM, FAIR EXPECTATION THAT OCCUPANTS CAN EXIT THE VEHICLE IN THE CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. HYUNDAI SERVICE CONSIDERS THIS A MALFUNCTIONING PART AND NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY OR BY AGE OF THE VEHICLE. IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE TO PAY $898.23 TO BE ABLE TO OPEN AND CLOSE THE DOORS ON A CAR THAT IS LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY SITUATION THAT HAS BEEN REPORTED OVER AND OVER AGAIN ACROSS MANY CAR WEBSITES. WE HAVE BEEN A LONGTIME HYUNDAI CUSTOMER, AND FIND THE LACK OF RECALL FOR SUCH A GLARING SAFETY SITUATION UNACCEPTABLE. AT SOME POINT, SOMEONE WILL LOSE THEIR LIFE BECAUSE OF THIS. I STRONGLY URGE THAT THIS MATTER BE LOOKED INTO IN DEPTH, AND THAT THIS WOULD RESULT IN A SAFETY RECALL. I HAVE THE DOCUMENTS FROM THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE REPAIR TO THE DOORS THAT SPECIFICALLY STATE THEIR CONCERNS FOR THIS BEING A SAFETY ISSUE. BEING ABLE TO GET INTO AND OUT OF A CAR SAFELY IS NOT A LUXURY, IT IS A NECESSITY. TO PAY NEARLY 1,000 DOLLARS TO DO SO IS NOT ACCEPTABLE, AND A PROBLEM TRUST WITH HYUNDAI PRODUCTS.
