OUR VEHICLE HAS STARTED USING A LOT OF OIL AROUND 80,000. WE NOW NEED TO ADD A QUART OF OIL ABOUT EVERY 1000 MILES. THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW SWITCH WILL OCCASIONALLY NOT WORK. WE HAD THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR LOCK REPLACED BECAUSE IF STOPPED WORKING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS THE VEHICLE WOULD SHUDDERED, SHOOK, AND VIBRATED WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL SHOWED THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD OVERHEATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER CARSON CITY HYUNDAI LOCATED AT 3659 S CARSON ST, CARSON CITY, NV 89701 WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE DUAL CLUTCH ASSEMBLY WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT YET NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE DUAL CLUTCH ASSEMBLY WAS PREVIOUSLY REPLACED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V628000 (POWER TRAIN) HOWEVER, THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.
IN A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME, 3 OF MY 4 DOORS OPEN UNRELIABLY AND ONE WILL NOT OPEN AT ALL. IT STARTED WITH THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. YOU ALWAYS MUST PULL THE HANDLE 2 TO 4 TIMES TO GET IT TO OPEN. IT SEEMED ONLY AN INCONVENIENCE, AND IT WAS QUOTED AS VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX, SO I JUST IGNORED IT. THEN A FEW MONTHS LATER, THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO MY FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. IT ALWAS TAKES 2 TO 4 ATTEMPTS AT PULLING THE HANDLE TO OPEN. AGAIN, I CHALKED IT UP TO AN INCONVENIENCE, BUT IT WAS STARTING TO BECOME VERY CONCERNING. THE REASON I WRITE IS THAT NOW (JUST WEEKS AFTER THE SECOND DOOR'S RELIABILITY ISSUE STARTED), MY REAR RIGHT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN, NO MATTER HOW MANY ATTEMPTS YOU MAKE. THE TWO FRONT DOORS DO OPEN ON THE FIRST ATTEMPT FROM THE INSIDE AS THEY SHOULD. HOWEVER, THE REAR RIGHT PASSENGER DOOR WILL NEVER OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE. THIS IS NOT A CHILD LOCK ISSUE AS I'VE NEVER USED THEM. IT SIMPLY STOPPED WORKING. THE DOOR IS USELESS. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION IF SOMEONE IN THE BACK SEAT NEEDED TO GET OUT OF THE CAR IN A HURRY. I RESEARCHED ONLINE TO SEE IF OTHERS HAVE THIS PROBLEM, AND IT APPEARS TO BE QUITE COMMON ON HYUNDAI TUCSONS - I SAW MANY PEOPLE DESCRIBING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP IS ASKING ANYWHERE FROM $400 TO $1000 TO FIX EACH DOOR! AS THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, I FEEL THAT IT STRONGLY WARRANTS CONSIDERATION FOR A RECALL THANK YOU FOR LOOKING INTO THIS MATTER.
REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN USING INSIDE OR OUTSIDE HANDLE EVENTHOUGH IT IS IN THE UNLOCKED POSITION . LOCKING AND UNLOCKING SWITCH INSIDE VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY WORKING. TRUCK HANDLE SOMETIMES WON'T OPEN TRUNK.
The engine of my car is consuming several quarts of oil between oil changes. I have read that this is a common problem with some models of Hyundia vehicles. I have also read that this defect has led to engine failures and possibly fires.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE PARKWAY MY CALLED STALLED. I WAS DRIVING 60 MPH IN THE LEFT LANE WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR STARTED STALLING AND I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE. MY CAR WAS COASTING AT THIS POINT DUE TO LACK OF ACCELERATION. I INTERRUPTED THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC AND HAD TO GO FROM THE FAR LEFT LANE TO RIGHT SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND STARTED IT AGAIN TO NO AVAIL. I STARTED THE CAR AGAIN AND THEN I WAS ABLE TO ACCELERATE. 10 MINUTES FROM HOME THE STALLING STARTED AGAIN, I GOT OFF THE MAIN HIGHWAY, PULLED ONTO A SIDE STREET AND PULLED HEAD INTO A PARKING SPOT AND TURNED THE CAR OFF. I RESTARTED THE CAR, PUT IT INTO REVERSE BUT THE CAR WOULDN'T MOVE WHEN I HIT THE ACCELERATOR. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED AND THEN I WAS ABLE TO REVERSE THE CAR. AS I PULLED INTO MY GARAGE THE STALLING STARTED AGAIN, I WENT TO BACK MY CAR INTO MY GARAGE SPOT I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE THE CAR INTO REVERSE. I CUT THE CAR OF AND RESTARTED AND I WAS ABLE TO REVERSE MY CAR INTO MY SPOT. THE NEXT DAY (7/20/20) I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE.I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE ON 7/21/20 AND THEY PERFORMED VIGOROUS ROAD TESTS, SCANNED FOR CODES NO CODES PRESENT, CAR WAS LEFT TO IDLE FOR 20 MINUTES AND STILL NO ISSUES AT THIS TIME. THE DEALERSHIP HAD THE CAR FROM 7/21-7/23/20. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR , ESPECIALLY WITH IT STALLING ON THE PARKWAY WHICH IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE FOR MYSELF, MY CURRENT PASSENGER(S) AND OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD. I'M THANKFUL THE CAR BEHIND ME WASN'T TAILGATING OR HE WOULD HAVE SLAMMED INTO ME.
MY DOORS HAVE BEEN NOT BEING ABLE TO OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR OUT. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED AND THEY SAY IT'S BECAUSE THE DOOR LATCH IS BAD. THIS IS A TOTAL SAFETY ISSUE, BECAUSE IF I WERE TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT AND MY ONLY WAY OUT WAS THE DOOR I WOULD BE LOCKED IN AND POTENTIALLY DIE. THE FACT THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR PEOPLE FOR OVER A YEAR AND STILL NOT A RECALL AND FOR IT TO HAPPEN TO ME TWICE IS RIDICULOUS. MY DAD IS A FIRST RESPONDER AND SAYS THAT THIS ISN'T A RECALL IS UNACCEPTABLE. AND THE FACT THAT THE ONLY WAY IT WILL BE A RECALL IS FOR SOMEONE TO DIE IN THE ACCIDENT AND FOR THEM TO SUE HYUNDAI TO BE A RECALL IS RIDICULOUS. PLEASE CONSIDER THE DOOR LATCH ISSUE TO BE A RECALL YOU CAN SEE ALL THE OTHER COMPLAINTS ONLINE BY TYPING IN GOOGLE. MY DOOR WILL RANDOMLY JUST STOP OPENING ONE DAY ONCE YOU CLOSE AND YOU CANNOT OPEN IT FROM THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE. THIS HAS NOW HAPPENED ON BOTH REAR DOORS.
BOTH BACK DOORS WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE OR THE INSIDE. THEY WILL LOCK AND UNLOCK, BUT WILL NOT OPEN. ACCORDING TO THE FORUMS, THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AMONG THIS YEAR OF HYUNDAI CARS.
OUR TUCSON SHIFTED DOWN AS WE PULLED INTO AN INTERSECTION AND WOULD NOT MOVE MORE THAN 5 MPH. WE WERE NEARLY STRUCK BY A TRACTOR-TRAILER. THIS IS THE THIRD SERIOUS INCIDENT INVOLVING THE TRANSMISSION IN THIS VEHICLE. WE WILL NOT DRIVE IT UNTIL HYUNDAI REPLACES THE TRANSMISSION.
THE RIGHT REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN AFTER BEING LOCKED AND UNLOCKED. IF YOU TAP FIRMLY ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE DOOR WITH THE CAR UNLOCKED, THE DOOR WILL OPEN AND CLOSE JUST FINE UNTIL THE DOORS ARE LOCKED AGAIN. I'VE DONE LOTS OF ONLINE RESEARCH AND THERE SEEMS TO BE MANY HYUNDAI OWNERS WITH THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED.
FOR A FEW DAYS PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT, THE CAR HESITATED SLIGHTLY FROM A DEAD STOP WHILE WE ACCELERATED. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS FROM THE CAR INDICATING ANY ISSUE. BECAUSE IT SEEMED ODD, WE MADE A APPOINTMENT TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TO LOOK INTO THE ISSUE. WHILE WAITING FOR OUR APPOINTMENT ON JULY 12TH, 2020, MERGING ONTO THE INTERSTATE, THERE WAS A FAILURE OF THE TRANSMISSION, SUCH THAT THE ENGINE WOULD JUST SPIN WITH NO POWER GOING TO THE WHEELS AT HIGHER RPM'S. FEATHERING THE THROTTLE, A SPEED OF ABOUT 45 MPH COULD BE ATTAINED ON FLAT GROUND AND SIGNIFICANTLY SLOWER ON HILLS. AFTER LIMPING IT ALONG TO A LOCAL SHOP, WERE WERE TOLD THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WAS CLOGGED, CAUSING IT TO OVERHEAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER, WHICH HAD FAILED SENDING SHRAPNEL THROUGH THE TRANSMISSION. THEY ONLY KNEW THIS BECAUSE THEY HAD TO TAKE THE CAR APART, SINCE EVEN AFTER THE FAILURE, NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. WE ENDED UP NEEDING A FULL TRANSMISSION REBUILD, A NEW TORQUE CONVERTER AND A NEW CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE, ESPECIALLY SINCE THERE WAS NO INDICATION FROM THE CARS WARNING SYSTEMS THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG, EVEN AFTER THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THIS COULD HAVE LEAD TO A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT ON THE INTERSTATE.
THE VEHICLE HESITATE WHILE YOU ARE IN LINE ON A FAST FOOD OR WHEN YOU ARE IN A STOP AND GO TRAFFIC JAM, WHEN YOU LEFT THE BRAKE PEDAL. SEVERAL TIMES WHEN YOU PRESS THE GAS PEDAL, THE VEHICLE DO NOT MOVE, IT TAKE SEVERAL SECONDS TO MOVE.
REAR DRIVER DOOR LOCK HAS FAILED. DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE OF VEHICLE. SAFETY ISSUE IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT, REAR PASSENGER CAN'T EXIT. IF TRAPPED BEHIND DRIVER SEAT.
BOUGHT CAR AND DRIVERS BACK DOOR DOES NOT OPEN. FAULTY HARDWARE.WINDOWS HAVE ISSUES TOO.
A FEW MONTHS AGO, MY DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW STOPPED GOING UP RANDOMLY ONE DAY. THE MOTOR WAS REPLACED UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. ALL OF A SUDDEN THIS WEEKEND, THE RIGHT PASSENGER'S SIDE WINDOW QUIT WORKING TOO. I BROUGHT IT IN FOR SERVICE, AND THEY TESTED ALL OF THE WINDOWS AND THE BACK RIGHT WINDOW IS ALSO NOT WORKING. THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT MANAGER SAID THAT HE SEES EVERY SINGLE TUSCON HAVE ALL FOUR WINDOW MOTORS FAIL AT SOME POINT- HE REPLACED FOUR VEHICLES WINDOW MOTORS TODAY ALONE! MY CAR IS A 2016, THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING TO EVERY SINGLE WINDOW LIKE CLOCKWORK. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THESE WINDOW MOTORS, AND THEY SHOULD BE COVERED IF THEY FAIL AFTER THE WARRANTY IS UP, BECAUSE THIS IS A MANUFACTURING ISSUE, NOT THE RESULTS OF WEAR AND TEAR. IT IS DANGEROUS TO NOT HAVE CONTROL OF WINDOWS IN ALL WEATHER CONDITIONS, AND FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR VEHICLE LEAVING IT PARKED ANYWHERE WITH THE INABILITY TO LOCK IT UP.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO BEAVERTON HYUNDAI (13255 SW FARMINGTON RD, BEAVERTON, OR 97005) WHERE THEY DISCOVERED THAT THE MECHANISM THAT ENGAGED THE LOCKS HAD WORN, WHICH HAD CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS GIVEN AN ESTIMATE FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND FILED A CLAIM. THE CONTACT'S CLAIM WAS DENIED DUE TO THE MILEAGE ON HER VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THEY ATTEMPTED MULTIPLE TIMES TO OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE AND FROM THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE HOWEVER, THE DOORS WOULD NOT OPEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO VISION HYUNDAI HENRIETTA ROCHESTER (2525 W HENRIETTA RD, ROCHESTER, NY 14623, (585) 292-0500) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE DOOR LATCHES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S SIDE FRONT DOORS HAD STARTED TO EXPERIENCE THE SAME FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,400.

THE DRIVER CALLED THE LOCAL DEALER ATLANTIC HYUNDAI LOCATED AT 193 SUNRISE HWY NORTH SERVICE RD, WEST ISLIP, NY 11795, (631) 587-0700, TO NOTIFY THE DEALER OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V348000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL KNOCKING SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE WITH THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE INITIALLY TOWED TO THE RESIDENCE WHERE AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC INFORMED HER THAT THE ENGINE CEASED. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO BOB ROHRMAN'S INDY HYUNDAI (7101 E WASHINGTON ST, INDIANAPOLIS, IN 46219) AND WAS DIAGNOSED WITH ENGINE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.
I HAVE HAD A PROBLEM OPENING UP MY DRIVER SIDE BACK DOOR SENSE SUMMER OF 2020 SO I'VE TAKEN THE BACK DOOR PANEL OFF AND I PULL ON THE WIRE FROM THE INSIDE TO OPEN IT UP. I'VE DEALT WITH THAT JUST FINE IT'S IRRITATING BUT NOW MY PASSENGER SIDE FRONT IS NOT WANTING TO OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE DO I HAVE TO READ ACROSS AND OPEN UP THE DOOR IF ANYBODY IS GOING TO BE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. NOW THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HAS STARTED DOING IT. SO NOW I'M EXPECTED TO CLIMB IN TRUE THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR AND UP INTO THE FRONT SEAT OR OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE AND THEN WALK BACK AROUND MY CAR. THAT IS UNTIL THE BACK PASSENGER DOOR DECIDES TO START DOING THE SAME THING AND THEN I GUESS I'LL HAVE TO CLIMB IN THROUGH THE TRUNK? OR MAYBE THAT'LL BE THE NEXT ONE TO GO? ANOTHER ISSUE THAT HAVE BEEN HAVING A LOT OF TROUBLE WITH IS THE FRONT INTERIOR DOME OR THE CONSOLE THE PASSENGER SIDE LIGHT DOESN'T LIKE TO COME ON MOST OF THE TIME, BUT OCCASIONALLY IT DOES. THE BIGGEST ISSUE IS THE FRONT HEADLIGHTS AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS. SO THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE BEEN NEEDING TO BE REPLACED MORE OFTEN THAN I EVER HEARD OF ANYBODY REPLACING THEM, LESS THAN 6 MONTH SOMETIMES. OTHER TIMES THAT HAD LIKE JUST GOES OUT AND THEN I HAVE TO GET UNDER THE HOOD AND HOPEFULLY GET THE CAP OFF SO THAT I CAN PLAY WITH THE FITTING AND HOPE THAT IT WILL COME BACK ON. BECAUSE I ACTUALLY DO MOST OF MY DRIVING IN THE DARK WHEN IT'S NIGHT TIME SO I KIND OF NEED MY LIGHTS. SOMETIMES THAT DOESN'T WORK BUT THE NEXT MORNING I WILL TURN ON THE VEHICLE THE LIGHT IS WORKING AGAIN?... I'VE BEEN DEALING WITH THAT ISSUE FOR ABOUT A YEAR AS WELL. JUST RECENTLY WITHIN THE LAST FEW MONTHS BEE TAIL LIGHT OR BRAKE LIGHT HAS STARTED DOING THE SAME THING. SPECIFICALLY THE PASSENGER BRAKE LIGHT SO FAR. I COULD SENSE THERE WAS SOME SORT OF ELECTRICAL ISSUE COMING ON BUT WOULDN'T HAVE EXPECTED ALL OF THIS, BACK TO BACK AT THE SAME TIME.
THE DRIVER AND BACK PASSENGER DOOR HANDLES BOTH JUST JAMMED ONE DAY, THE DRIVER WINDOW SWITCH SHORTS OUT, DASH LIGHTS WILL FLASH ON AND OFF RANDOMLY, THE DEALERSHIP HAS ALREADY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION AND THE ENGINE HAS BEEN TICKING FOR MONTHS AND THE DEALERSHIP SAYS ITS DUE TO LOW OIL AND REFUSED TO LOOK INTO IT. NOW ITS TO THE POINT OF TOTAL ENGINE FAILURE.... PLEASE HELP ME I HAVNT EVEN HAD IT FOR 2 YEARS YET

I HAVE MY CHILD SITTING IN THE REAR SEAT AND IT IS A CRITICAL SAFETY ISSUE, BEING UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM EITHER SIDE. I FOUND THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE TO THIS PARTICULAR YEAR MODEL 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON, AND THERE ARE MANY CONSUMER COMPLAINTS FOR THIS PROBLEM. ALSO, IN KOREA, THE ORIGINAL COUNTRY OF HYUNDAI, THE NATIONAL CONSUMER REPORT AGENCY ANNOUNCED, IN DECEMBER 2019, OF THIS ISSUE AND REQUESTED HYUNDAI MOTORS TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM AND HYUNDAI HAS ACCEPTED TO REPAIR THIS KNOWN ISSUE TO THE CONSUMERS. HYUNDAI HAS SENT OUT A LETTER TO THE OWNER OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLES, TUCSON, MANUFACTURED BETWEEN MAY 2015 TO DECEMBER 2016, (106,726 CARS) TO REPAIR AND REPLACE THE DOOR LATCH 4EA AT NO COST. IT IS THE SAME MODEL AND THIS NEEDS TO BE DONE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE ALSO FOR THE CONSUMERS IN THE USA AND IT NEEDS TO BE ON THE RECALL LIST. GOT THIS CAR AT THE DEALERSHIP IN JULY LAST YEAR. A FEW WEEKS BEFORE THIS HAPPENED YOU WOULD NOTICE A HESITATION FROM THE CAR TO MOVE FORWARD WHEN YOU PRESS THE GAS PEDAL WHILES DRIVING ON THE ROAD. THE ENGINE BEGAN TO MAKE LOUD KNOCKING NOISES ONE MORNING AND BROKE DOWN WHILE DRIVING ON THE STREET. GOT IT TOWED TO A HYUNDAI SERVICE SHOP AND THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT MAKING A "GOODWILL" REPAIR WHICH WILL END UP COSTING $4800. I HAVE READ MANY COMPLAINTS NOTED FROM THE 2016 TUCSON OWNERS WHO EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUES WITH THEIR CARS. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. IN ADDITION, THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR LATCH WAS INOPERABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.

on multiple occasions the transmission failed to engage at slow speed then lunges forward when it does. it happens when your at a stop accelerate slowly to about 10 mph get off the accelerator then re-apply it. the engine revs but the transmission acts like it goes into neutral then catches a gear and lunges forward. It is unsafe because the driver behind you can hit you from behind, which almost happened to me, or you can hit the car in front of you when it lunges or worst hit a pedestrian because of the unpredictability of the transmission/ engine power engagement. The so called fix was a software issue that didn't fix it. mine still has it and when i told the dealer they said they couldn't duplicate the problem BUT it has happened so many times to me that i can make it fail. Hyundai should be accountable for this but no one ever listens to the consumer until its to late. it asks below when it happened but it started shortly after i purchased the car and happened multiple times. but the one i absolutely remember was when i had my daughters in the car right after my daughters birthday.

TUCSON STORED IN GARAGE. LEFT AFTER 8AM TO GO TO WORK. AFTER APPROX 10-15 MIN ON THE ROAD IT SOUNDED LIKE A BOMB EXPLODED ABOVE MY HEAD AND I COULD HEAR THE BITS OF GLASS HITTING THE HEADLINER/SUN VISOR AS I SLOWED DOWN AND CAREFULLY DROVE WITH MY HAZARDS ON. I WAS GOING STRAIGHT ON THE 202 FREEWAY HEADED WEST TO I-10 WITH NO EXITS UNTIL I-10 & RAY RD. I HAD BEEN GOING APPROX. 65MPH WHEN THIS HAPPENED WITH NO WARNING. I THOUGHT SOMEONE MIGHT HAVE TOSSED SOMETHING OFF THE KYRENE OVERPASS, BUT PRETTY SURE I WAS TOO FAR AWAY AT THAT TIME. INTERIOR A/C WAS SET TO 74 WITH THE FAN ON LEVEL 2. The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while driving at 30 MPH, the vehicle began to stall and he saw smoke coming out from underneath the hood of the vehicle. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road and quickly exited the vehicle. The contact waited several minutes. The contact stated that upon opening the hood of the vehicle, he saw flames. The contact was able to extinguish the fire by shutting the hood closed. The contact stated that in the process of exiting the vehicle, he bumped his knee and twisted his ankle and received care from his caregiver. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The engine was replaced under an unknown recall. However, the contact stated that after the repair, the vehicle was experiencing rough starts and the engine was misfiring while driving. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer, Ron Tonkin Hyundai (675 NE Burnside Rd, Gresham, OR 97030), where it was diagnosed that the cylinder was misfiring. The dealer replaced the fuel injector, the spark plugs, and the cylinder head, and completed an oil change. However, the engine was knocking upon starting the vehicle. The dealer informed the contact that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact that he would need to pay an Engine Control Unit (ECU) repair fee. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
I HAVE A 2016 TUCSON SPORT WITH 62000 MILES ON IT. I'VE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE AC BLOWING HOT AIR ON AND OFF FOR A FEW MONTHS.. I TOOK IT TO A HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED A DEFECTIVE COMPRESSOR, THE TORQUE LIMITER HAD INTERNALLY SHEARED DUE TO BINDING. NOW 4.5 MONTHS LATER IT'S BLOWING HOT AIR AGAIN. I'VE ALSO HAD TO HAVE THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FIXED, THE STEERING COLUMN, HOUSING, AND MDPS MODULE ASSEMBLY REPLACED AS WELL.

WHEN TRYING TO GET INTO MY CAR, I UNLOCK MY DOORS. WITH ALL DOORS UNLOCKED I TRY TO ENTER THE DRIVER DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. IT TAKES MULTIPLE POOLS ON THE HANDLE FOR THE DRIVE DOOR TO GET THE LATCH INSIDE THE DOOR TO RELEASE AND OPEN THE DOOR. MY DOOR BECOMES STUCK AND I AM UNABLE TO GET INSIDE MY VEHICLE. THIS CAN BE A POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE, IN DARK PARKING LOTS, UNSAFE LOCATIONS, PREVENTING ME FROM GETTING IN MY VEHICLE. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO HYUNDAI DEALER. THEY STATES NOTHING IS WRONG WITH MY DOOR AND IT WORKS FINE. THIS WAS APPROX APR IN 2020. BEGINNING THIS WEEK MY PASSENGER SIDE FRONT DOOR WILL NOW ALSO NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE, EVEN IF MY DOOR IS UNLOCKED. NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I PULL THE HANDLE THE PASSENGER DOOR WONT RELEASE FROM THE OUTSIDE. I HAVE TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE.
