The left-back passenger door now will not open from outside. I think it is a safety issue. In case of an accident, I would able to get my kids fast from the car.
MY DRIVER'S SIDE PASSENGER DOOR WILL NO LONGER OPEN FROM NEITHER THE OUTSIDE OR INSIDE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AS I HAVE TWO CHILDREN IN CARSEATS WHO RIDE IN THE BACK. THIS HAS ALSO BEEN A EXTREME INCONVENIENCE AS I HAVE TO CLIMB OVER ONE CHILD TO BUCKLE IN THE OTHER. WE WERE TOLD THIS WILL COST AN UPWARDS OF $1000 TO FIX, BUT THIS INDEED A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND FIXED ASAP.
THIS VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH A DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS (ABOUT TWICE A MONTH, IN VARIOUS TYPES OF DRIVING CONDITIONS), WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A SLOW ROLL OR A COMPLETE STOP, THE ENGINE HAS REVVED FREELY AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT MOVE FORWARD, DESPITE BEING IN DRIVE. THIS OBVIOUSLY CREATES AN INCREDIBLY UNSAFE CONDITION, SINCE THE LOSS OF PROPULSION HAPPENS ENTIRELY WITHOUT WARNING AND CAN RESULT IN A COLLISION. HYUNDAI IS AWARE OF ISSUES WITH DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSIONS IN 2016 AND OTHER MODEL YEAR VEHICLES, AND HAS ISSUED A TSB TO ADDRESS PROBLEMATIC UNITS (TSB # 19-AT-002H). DESPITE THE FACT THAT MY VEHICLE CONSISTENTLY AND PREDICTABLY EXHIBITS SYMPTOMS IDENTIFIED IN THE DIAGNOSTIC PORTION OF THAT TSB (JUDDER WHEN COASTING FROM A STOP), MY LOCAL HYUNDAI DEALER HAS CONSULTED WITH HYUNDAI CORPORATE AND CONCLUDED THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS PERFORMING AS DESIGNED. THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE THE LOSS OF PROPULSION THAT I DESCRIBED. NO REPAIR PRESCRIBED BY THE TSB WAS PERFORMED.

MY 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON ECO DCT HAS A DANGEROUS RANDOM "SHUDDER/HESITATION" SAFETY PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED.*DT A "SHUDDER / HESITATION" RANDOMLY OCCURS AT SLOWER SPEEDS. I'VE BROUGHT UP MY CONCERN EACH TIME I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE IN FOR REGULARLY SCHEDULED SERVICE. I HAVE ONLY 28000 MILES ON IT. THE MECHANICS REPORT THAT "IT DIDN'T OCCUR FOR THEM, OR SHOW-UP ON THEIR COMPUTER, SO THEY SAY THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT". I'VE EXPLAINED EACH TIME THAT IT OCCURS RANDOMLY, AND MOSTLY AT SLOW SPEED WHEN SLOWLY COMING TO A STOP, WHEN PARKING PULLING IN OR OUT OF A SPACE OR DRIVEWAY, AT STOP SIGNS EITHER SLOWLY STOPPING, OR PROCEEDING FORWARD AT A LIGHT OR INTERSECTION, AND SOMETIMES WHEN TRYING TO TURN INTO THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC. I AM POSITIVE THAT HYUNDAI IS VERY AWARE OF WHAT THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE 2016 TUCSON ECO DCT. I RECENTLY RECEIVED A LETTER FROM HYUNDAI REFERRING TO A 'PROPOSED CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT', BUT IT WAS EXPIRED ALREADY ! I MENTIONED THERE WERE OVER 300 COMPLAINTS OF A SIMILAR "SHUDDER / HESITATION" ON ONE WEB SITE ALONE! THIS IS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM THAT COULD RESULT IN A REAR END OR INTERSECTION COLLISION BECAUSE OF THE "SHUDDER / HESITATION" THAT OCCURS RANDOMLY. I HAVE PASSENGER WITNESSES AS WELL. THERE IS DEFINATELY A DANGEROUS SAFETY DEFECT CAUSING A "SHUDDER" IN THE 2016 TUCSON ECO DCT THAT NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED. I WAS GIVEN A HYUNDAI COMPLAINT DEPT. NUMBER TO CALL, AND I REPORTED THE PROBLEM. THE CLAIM ADMINISTRATOR SEEMED QUITE AWARE OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. HE GAVE ME A CLAIM NUMBER, AND SAID HE WOULD CALL ME BACK MONDAY, TO 'SET UP ANOTHER SERVICE APPOINTMENT', AND "ARRANGE FOR A SPECIALIST" TO BE THERE. I RECEIVED A CALL ON WEDNESDAY, AND WAS NOW INFORMED "THERE WAS NOTHING MORE HE COULD DO", AND HE WAS "CLOSING OUT MY CASE NUMBER, AND SUGGESTED I JUST BRING IT TO THE DEALER AGAIN", AND RE-FILE A NEW CLAIM# !
AS I WAS PULLING ONTO HIGHWAY FROM A COMPLETE STOP, THE CAR PAUSED AND REVVED ENGINE AND THEN KICKED INTO GEAR AND WENT. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD, AS THERE WERE OTHER VEHICLE DRIVING TOWARDS ME, AND THE CAR WOULD NOT GO FOR A FEW SECONDS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL FOUR DOORS FAILED TO OPEN AND CLOSE WITHOUT SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. ADDITIONALLY, THE REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE WINDOW WAS INOPERABLE. THE ENGINE SPLASH COVER DETACHED FROM VEHICLE. THE CLEAN FRONT RADAR MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED, AND THERE WAS AN ABNORMALLY LOUD NOISE DETECTED FROM THE MUFFLER. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WOODHOUSE HYUNDAI OF OMAHA (8410 S 145TH ST, OMAHA, NE 68138, (402) 592-1007) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE DOOR ACTUATORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED HOWEVER, NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
Rear passenger side door will no open from the inside or outside. Additionally, have to pull on the driver's side door forcefully at least three times in order to open when attempting to enter the vehicle. My safety and the safety of my passengers is in jeopardy if we are unable to exit or people are unable to properly enter the vehicle in an emergency. There were no warnings provided by the vehicle before the issue began.
The door latch has failed on now 2 of my doors. The rear driver side door will not open from either the inside or outside and the front passenger door will not open from the outside without pulling the handle 5 to 7 times. I have looked at the other comments from other people with this car and this is a known issue, this should be made a recall since so many people are having the same issue.
MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR HAS ALREADY BEEN REPLACED ONCE FOR THE BUTTON BECOMING DEFECTIVE AND IT STOPPED WORKING AGAIN WITHIN A MONTH OF IT BEING FIXED. MY BACK PASSENGER DOOR HAS ALSO STOPPED WORKING. EVEN THOUGH IT IS UNLOCKED, IT WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR THE OUT, AS ID IT IS STILL LOCKED.
HELLO, I BOUGHT A USED 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON ECO LESS THEN A MONTH AGO FROM AUTONATION THAT HAD ONLY 40,000 MILES ON IT. WITHIN 2 WEEKS OF BUYING THE VEHICLE, THE CHECK ENGINE TURNED ON FOR A P259F TROUBLE CODE FOR A TURBOCHARGER POSITION SENSOR THAT I HAD GOT FROM USING AUTONATION'S VEHICLE APP. NATURALLY , I CALLED AUTONATION TO HAVE MY CAR FIXED, BUT THE ENGINE LIGHT HAD GONE OFF BEFORE I BROUGHT MY IN VEHICLE IN FOR REPAIRS. WHEN I DID BRING MY VEHICLE IN TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON FROM MY TURBO, BUT THAT IT HAD GONE OFF AND THAT THE CAR WAS FUNCTIONING NORMALLY, AND TO GO TO A HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP FOR A SPECIAL DIAGNOSTIC IF THE ISSUE CONSISTED. ON THE SAME DAY OF GETTING MY CAR BACK, I STARTED NOTICING ENGINE PERFORMANCE ISSUES, MY ACCELERATION WOULD BE AFFECTED BY 1 TO 2 SECONDS WHERE THE CAR WOULD NOT GO, AND WHEN IT WOULD FINALLY NOTICE THE THROTTLE IT WOULD JUMP KICK THE CAR. ALSO THE WORST OF ALL, IT ALSO CUT OUT AT ONE POINT WHERE IT DID NOT WANT TO GIVE ANY SORT OF THROTTLE AT ALL, I NEEDED TO HAVE MY FOOT ALL THE WAY DOWN ON THE PEDAL TO JUST GO 30 MPH. DURING THAT TIME I NOTICED THAT THE ENGINE WOULD BE REVVING HIGH WHILE NO SPEED WAS BEING GAINED, AND NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS WHERE GOING OFF EITHER. BECAUSE OF THAT, I WAS ALMOST INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE I COULD NOT ACCELERATE OUT OF AN INTERSECTION WHEN MAKING A TURN. WHAT MAKES ME BELIEVE THIS IS THE TURBO ELECTRICAL PROBLEM, IS THAT THE WAY I GOT MY CAR TO ACCELERATE NORMALLY IS THAT I PARKED IT AND RESTARTED IT, AFTER THAT IT STARTED ACCELERATING NORMALLY, BUT AT TIMES THE ACCELERATION WOULD STILL BE AFFECTED.
COMING FROM A STOP OR VERY LOW SPEEDS, I PRESS ON THE GAS PEDAL AND THE CAR DOESN'T MOVE. SOMETIMES IT ACTUALLY SLOWS DOWN. WHEN IT DOES ENGAGE, THE CAR WILL LURCH FORWARD AT A HIGHER SPEED. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. OTHER 2016 TUCSONS ARE UNDER RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE. THEY NEED TO EXPAND THE RECALL. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON MULTIPLE DATES AND TIMES, SO THE ISSUE IS ONGOING.
WINDOWS GET STOCK UP OR DOW CAR IS PARK AND RUNNING THIS ISSUE HAPPING TREE TIME IN LESS OF ONE YEAR FIRST THE DRIVER SIDE THEM THE REAR PASSENGER AND NOW THE FRONT PASSENGER. STERLING WHEEL HAS A CLOCKING NOISE TOOK TO THE DEALER THEY SAY THEY FIX THE PROBLEM BUT STILL MAKING NOISE THIS IS WENT THE CAR IS IN MOTION SPECIAL WHEN MADE TURNS

2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON ECO: VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND I NOTICED THE AIR BAG INDICATOR IS ILLUMINATED. I REMOVED KEYS FROM IGNITION AND RE-STARTED WITH SAME RESULTS. NOT SURE IF IT'S A MODULE OR A DEFECTIVE RESTRAINT SYSTEM.
My 2016 Tucson Sport with Eco Shift has a dangerous problem with the transmission. Intermittently It will not move when I give it gas. The RPMS go up to 6000 but the car wont move. Its the DCT transmission. Today I took it in for the 3rd time and I don't want it back until its fixed. This is a very unsafe vehicle to drive since you would not know when it would just stop shifting and driving. Have registered a complaint with Hyundai Motors as the service department does not know when the vehicle will be repaired.
THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN USING EITHER THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE. THE LOCK TOGGLE AND DOOR HANDLE STILL MOVE BUT DO NOT WORK.
Engine Burns excessive oil, We change our oil every 3k miles since owning it sept 2019. I had taken it to the dealer for a repair on a separate issue and asked them to look at the engine and transmission due to noise and intermittent issues taking off. was told there was no issue and i did not need an oil change until I reach 5 k miles ( i was at 3k) and that the transmission has had the update and this is how the car operates noise and all, a week and a half later engine stalled while turning through a light at an intersection and the oil light came onfor a split second then off, no oil lights ever indicated low oil until that moment, I checked the oil and it was dry, I did an oil change, next time I reached 3k miles I took it to a shop, not the dealer and oil was dry at 3k miles, have had to refill the oil at 1500 miles since finding this out and have made multiple complaints to the dealer, they will not inspect it for what is a widely known issue unless i pay the money to do an oil consumption test that i cannot afford i have made numerous calls and have been unable to reach corporate after my first contact and delaer will not assist due to me being out of warranty even though this could have been prevented while i was in warranty and informed them i was having concerns, this company is aware of the issues these cars have and is knowing selling them when they can cause injury or death, as well none of my door handles will open the car upon first try(though this part is now under an extended warranty due to this issue) this company is knownly selling and doing everything not to recall dangerous vehicles

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO ANY RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 65,000.
THIS ISSUE RECUR AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT THAT MADE US GO BACK AND FORTH TO THE DEALERSHIP 3YRS AGO. HYUNDAI OF SEATTLE SHOULD HAVE A FULL RECORD OF THIS ISSUE. RECENTLY THEN, OUR CAR SHOWS SIMILAR ISSUES. THE CAR IS SLOW TO ACCELERATE FROM STOP TO GO. DOES NOT PICK UP ACCELERATIONS WHEN YOU STEP ON THE GAS. ON INCLINED OR CLIMB, ENGINE HAS A HARD TIME AND SEEMS TO SHAKE A BIT THEN STEADY ITSELF AFTER 2 MINS AS YOU STEP IN THE GAS TO KEEP IT IN MOTION

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ED VOYLES HYUNDAI LOCATED AT 2135 COBB PKWY SE, SMYRNA, GA 30080 WHERE THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED AN ESTIMATE FOR THE REPAIRS AND DIAGNOSTIC FEE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 111,000.
MY DOORS HAVE STOPPED OPENING FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. THE PROBLEM FIRST STARTED WITH MY REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR (LAST YEAR- HAS NOT OPENED SINCE) AND NOW HAS HAPPENED WITH THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR (STARTED LAST SUMMER 2020). CHILD LOCK IS NOT ON, NO OBSTRUCTION, HAVE TRIED LOCKING AND UNLOCKING SEVERAL TIMES. THE CAR IS STATIONARY, IN PARK. AT FIRST IF I USE A LITTLE FORCE AND PUSH THE DOOR IT SOMETIMES WILL LET IT OPEN, BUT EVENTUALLY THIS STOPS WORKING AND THE DOOR IS TOTALLY SEALED SHUT. FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN THIS APPEARS TO BE AN ISSUE FOR MANY HYUNDAI OWNERS AND THERE IS NO REAL FIX. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE- IF THERE IS AN ACCIDENT OR MY PASSENGERS NEED TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE QUICKLY, THEY ARE QUITE LITERALLY TRAPPED IN THE VEHICLE. I'M WORRIED IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THIS OCCURS WITH MY DRIVER DOOR AS WELL. THIS NEEDS TO BE A SAFETY RECALL AND IS ABSOLUTELY NOT NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR.

REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK OR OPEN MANUALLY. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY RISK.
I BOUGHT MY CAR IN 2017 WITH ROUGHLY 33000 MILES ON IT. IT NOW HAS ROUGHLY 89000 ON IT. I FIRST HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW NOT WORKING. BOUGHT A MOTOR HAD IT REPLACED. NOW MY DRIVERSIDE DOOR OPENS SOMETIMES, YOU HAVE TO PULL HANDLE 3 OR 4 TIMES TO OPEN IT. DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR WON'T OPEN FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE AT ALL. WHY IS THERE NO RECALL ON THIS?THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE TO THE MAX! I AM 57AND CAN'T BE CLIMBING OVER SEATS OR CONSOLES TO GET OUT! I ALSO CAN'T AFFORD THESE KINDS OF REPAIRS. I AM PAYING 400 A MONTH FOR A DEATH TRAP! NO ONE CAN RIDE WITH ME BECAUSE THEY WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR UNLESS THEY CROSSED OVER SEATS! PLEASE HELP WITH THIS. SOMETIMES CAR DOES NOT WANT TO ACCELERATE COMPLETELY AFTER MAKING A COMPLETE STOP. IT MAKES OVER 5 SECONDS SOMETIMES TO START ACCELERATING. WHICH IS QUITE SCARY WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC. WHEN PRESSING ON THE GAS, THE CAR WILL SLIGHTLY MOVE (MAYBE 5MPH) THEN GET STUCK IN THAT GEAR FOR A LACK OF BETTER WORDS. MAKING YOU STUCK IN ONCOMING TRAFFIC SOMETIMES.
BLINKER STAYS ON EVEN AFTER IT IS SHUT OFF, BRAKE LIKE CONTINUOUSLY GOES OUT, EVEN THOUGH IT HAS BEEN REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES (MAY BE A WIRING ISSUE).
The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving, the vehicle experienced slow acceleration. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the catalytic converter, sparks plugs, and ignition coils needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The local dealer requested additionally testing on the engine. The manufacturer was notified of the failure however, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
This same oil leak issue has been addressed at least 6 times and is worse than its ever been. 1-16-20 9-12-20 1-8-21 1-22-21 5-17-21 9-10-21 The Oil pan was replaced on 09-10-21 at 109,331 miles. At around 2,000 mile after this service noticed oil spots again in my driveway, it seems to be leaking in the same spot. I called for an appointment on November 1 to have it looked at and you were about a month out, so I had to make an appointment for November 29th. The problem seems to be getting worse and I dont feel comfotable driving it. I called service twice in the last week and was advised to leave it in case an appointment opens up. Please see service history, check, and advise. I have a college visit with my son in Maryland on November 15 and had to rent a vehicle.

PART NUMBER IS 56400-D3000. LOOKING ONLINE, I SEE THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH OTHER OWNERS. THIS NEEDS THE ATTENTION OF HYUNDAI; IF THE SHAFT FAILS, DRIVER MAY LOOSE TOTAL CONTROL OF VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE ACCELERATES SUDDENLY WITHOUT DRIVER INPUT. ALSO, IT TURNS OFF WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING THE LOSS OF BRAKE AND STEERING CONTROLS. FINALLY, TRANSMISSION GEAR SWITCH WITHOUT INPUT WHILE DRIVING. THIS SITUATIONS OCCUR WHILE DRIVING IN BOTH CITY AND HIGHWAY DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER ON 12/26/19; NO RESPONSE HAS BEEN RECEIVED EITHER FROM DEALER OR MANUIFACTURER.
THIS EVENING ME AND MY FIANC WERE DRIVING 45MPH DOWN HILL ON A STRAIGHT ROAD TO GET CHRISTMAS GIFTS, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN OUT OF NO WHERE THE ENGINE JUST DIED/STALLED (NO WARNING/DASHBOARD LIGHTS). THANK GOD WE WERE ABLE TO COAST INTO A GAS STATION AND GET OFF THE ROAD SAFELY. THE CAR WOULDN'T EVEN TURN OVER, SO MY FIANC CHECKED THE OIL AND IT WAS LOW. THE CAR DOESN'T LEAK OIL AND WE DO OIL CHANGES EVERY 3,000 MILES RELIGIOUSLY. WE CARRY EXTRA OIL IN CASE AN OIL WARNING LIGHT APPEARS SO WE ADDED OIL TO CORRECT FILL LEVEL. TO NO LUCK THE CAR STILL WOULDN'T TURN OVER. AS IT IS SATURDAY NIGHT AND TOMORROW BEING SUNDAY WE HAVE TO WAIT TILL MONDAY MORNING TO GET THE CAR TO A HYUNDAI DEALER TO BE ASSESSED BY THEM. HOPEFULLY THEY WILL COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT THE CAR BURNS OIL OUT OF NO WHERE AND THAT THE CARS OIL WARNING/PRESSURE LIGHT IS MALFUNCTIONING/FAULTY. IN FINDING THAT I AM HOPING THE DEALER WILL HONOR MY WARRANTY AND REPLACE MY ENGINE.

MY CAR WAS MAKING A LOW, RUMBLING NOISE WHEN I ACCELERATED. IT STARTED GETTING LOUDER AND AS I PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, MY VEHICLE LOST POWER AND SMOKE STARTED COMING FROM THE HOOD OF MY CAR. REAR DOOR BEHIND DRIVER SIDE, DOES NOT OPEN WHEN UNLOCKED FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE THE CAR
I'M THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF A 2016 TUCSON. HERE ARE ALL THE SYMPTOMS AND ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE: DEALER RECOMMENDED REPLACING THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER DEC 2019 AND I HAD THE PART REPLACED. HAD AN OIL CHANGE ON 1-26-2020 AND THE NEXT WEEK ON 2-2-2020 THE ENGINE WAS TAPPING, CHECKED THE OIL AND DISCOVERED NO OIL IN THE ENGINE. THE LOW OIL INDICATOR LIGHT NEVER CAME ON. THE CAR CONTINUES TO BURN OIL. MECHANICS CHECKED CAR AGAIN AND NO LEAKS WAS DISCOVERED. AND STILL UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHY THIS CAR IS BURNING OIL. MECHANIC IS RECOMMENDING A NEW ENGINE. ALSO, THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE ACCURATELY AND HESITATES AT ABOUT 45 MPH. THERE IS A CLICKING NOISE WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT DOES CAUSE ANY PROBLEMS BUT THE PART CAN BE REPLACED. THE DRIVERS DOOR STICKS HAVE TO PULL ON THE DOOR HANDLE 2-3 TIMES BEFORE THE DOOR OPENS. MAJOR ENGINE ISSUES,
IN MY CASE ALL THREE DOORS WERE LOCKED AND COULD NOT OPEN IN STATIONARY, IN MOTION, ON A CITY STREET OR HIGHWAY, TURNING OR OFF. IT STARTED WITH DRIVER'S DOOR NOT OPENING FROM OUTSIDE 1ST AND WHEN I UNLOCKED USING MY CAR KEY IT WOULDN'T OPEN. I HAD TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM PASSENGER SIDE IN ORDER TO GET TO THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THEN BOTH BACK PASSENGER LEFT AND RIGHT DOORS WOULD NOT OPEN FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. THIS CREATED MAJOR CONCERN AND SAFETY ISSUE SINCE I COULDN'T HAVE ANYONE SITTING IN THE BACK SINCE NO ONE COULD GET IN OR GET OUT. I TOOK MY CAR TO DEALERSHIP AND SINCE MY CAR HAD 62,000 MILES IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE HYUNDAI WARRANTY. THEY REPLACED THE DRIVER DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FOR $392 IN 12/13/2019. ONE MONTH LATER IN 1/13/2020 I STARTED HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH BACK RIGHT PASSENGER DOOR AND ONE WEEK LATER IN 1/18/20 I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH BACK LEFT PASSENGER DOOR. THIS TIME BOTH BACK DOORS WERE LOCKED FROM INSIDE AND OUTSIDE SO NO ONE WAS ABLE TO GET IN OR OUT. I TOOK MY CAR TO AAMCO AND THEY HAD TO REMOVE THE DOORS TRIM & SEALS TO GET DOORS OPEN AND REPLACED BOTH DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS FOR $862.79. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED WITH MY OTHER CARS AND IT IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN WHEN YOU ARE LOCKED INSIDE THE CAR AND CAN'T GET OUT. THERE HAS BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE REGARDING THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS NOT FUNCTIONING AND REQUIRING REPLACEMENT. I'M HOPING NHTSA CAN ADDRESS THIS SAFETY CONCERN AND ASK HYUNDAI TO RECALL AND REPLACE THE PARTS. I KNOW SOON I WILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY TRUNK DOOR AND FRONT RIGHT DOOR. GREATLY APPRECIATE YOUR HELP IN THIS MATTER. THE PARTS ARE POOR QUALITY AND NOT DESIGNED TO LAST AND THIS CREATES SAFETY CONCERN.
THE ENGINE IS BURNING OIL, THERE ARE NO LEAKS AND NO DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHTS. ON 12/5/19, MECHANIC FOUND A DRY DIP STICK AND REMOVED LESS THAN 1 QUART OIL FROM THE ENGINE AND EXAMINED FOR LEAKS. OIL CHANGES ARE IN REGULAR 5,000-6,000 INTERVALS USING SYNTHETIC 5W30 OIL AND THIS ISSUE WAS NOT FOUND AT THE LAST OIL CHANGE ON 4/11/19. OIL WAS CHECKED ON 12/8/19 AND THE OIL BELOW IS ALREADY BELOW FULL.
MY REAR PASSENGER DOOR WON'T OPEN. IT'S NOT LOCKED, AND I'VE PUT AS MUCH FORCE ON IT AS I THINK I CAN WITHOUT BREAKING THE HANDLE AND IT WON'T OPEN. THIS SEEMS LIKE A PRETTY COMMON PROBLEM WITH TUCSON'S AND WITH HYUNDAI'S IN GENERAL. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.
THE VEHICLE DOOR LOCKS CEASE TO FUNCTION PROPERLY LEADING TO BOTH THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLES FAILING TO UNLATCH THE DOOR. THIS CAUSES THE DOORS TO FAIL TO BE ABLE TO BE OPENED. THIS COULD POTENTIALLY BE FATAL IN AN ACCIDENT SITUATION. CURRENTLY BOTH THE LEFT REAR DOOR AND FRONT RIGHT DOOR LATCHES DO NOT WORK. I CANNOT OPEN EITHER OF THOSE TWO DOORS. THIS IS A WELL DOCUMENTED ISSUE WITH HYUNDAI DOOR LATCHES. A SAFETY RECALL NEEDS TO BE ISSUED.

The contact also stated that excessive force was needed to open the driver’s side front door. The dealer had been notified of the failure and the contact was provided the cost for a diagnostic test. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

THE POWER TAILGATE WILL OPEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN A GROCERY PARKING LOT. THE DATE REPORTED IS THE MOST RECENT OCCASION. IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL MORE TIMES PREVIOUSLY. ONLY ONCE DID IT HAPPEN WHEN THE CAR WAS IN OUR DRIVEWAY. I DISABLED THE LIFTGATE/TAILGATE
BOTH THE PASSENGER SIDE AND DRIVER SIDE REAR DOORS WON'T OPEN FROM EITHER INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. NO CHILD LOCK IS ON, AND THE LOCK/UNLOCK BUTTON WORKS FINE, BUT NOTHING HAPPENS WHEN I PULL THE DOOR HANDLE FROM OUTSIDE OR INSIDE. I HAVE MY CHILDREN SITTING IN THE REAR SEATS AND IT IS A CRITICAL SAFETY ISSUE, BEING UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM EITHER SIDE. I FOUND THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE TO THIS PARTICULAR YEAR MODEL 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON, AND THERE ARE MANY CONSUMER COMPLAINTS FOR THIS PROBLEM. ALSO, IN KOREA, THE ORIGINAL COUNTRY OF HYUNDAI, THE NATIONAL CONSUMER REPORT AGENCY ANNOUNCED, IN DECEMBER 2019, OF THIS ISSUE AND REQUESTED HYUNDAI MOTORS TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM AND HYUNDAI HAS ACCEPTED TO REPAIR THIS KNOWN ISSUE TO THE CONSUMERS. HYUNDAI HAS FAILED TO IMPLEMENT THIS FIX IN US AND IT IS A VERY BIG EXPENSE THAT THE CUSTOMER HAS TO BEAR FOR A SAFETY ISSUE. UPON INVESTIGATION I FOUND THAT THE REAR DOOR-LOCK LATCH ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY IS THE PROBLEM COMPONENT THAT HAS SOME SORT OF CHEAP PLASTIC CAUSING THE ISSUE AND THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE UPLOADED THE PICTURES OF THE LATCH ASSEMBLY THAT REQUIRES A REPLACEMENT.
RECENTLY BOUGHT 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON LIMITED AND THE CAR HAS 29,000 MILES ON IT. WHEN IN TRAFFIC AND REMOVE MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE THE CAR WITH SHAKE AS IT IS ABOUT TO STALL OUT AND THEN FINALLY KICK IN AND START MOVING FORWARD NORMALLY. I'VE TRIED TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND HAD THE CAR STALL FOR A SECOND BEFORE GOING FORWARD. I DON'T FEEL SAFE PULLING OUT UNLESS I HAVE ENOUGH TIME FOR THE OTHER CAR TO STOP JUST IN CASE THE CAR DOES STALL OUT. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEAL THAT THE GOOD NEWS IS THE CAR IS SUPPOSED TO ACT LIKE THIS. DEALERS SEEM TO KNOW ABOUT THIS ISSUE BUT SINCE THE COMPUTER DOESN'T THROW UP A FLAG THEY DON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
